Is standing in the exit gate where you cannot be hit reportable?

Simple question, is standing in the exit gate where you cannot be hit reportable? Right on the edge where you're still in the game but can't be hit.

Comments

  • I doubt it, as the game is practically over at that point.

  • Ok then. Seems a bit unfair to me for a Survivor to be able to stand somewhere perfectly safe then run back into the game to get a save but ok.

  • Did that not get patched out? I kind of doubt it is reportable but it definitely seems like it is right on the cusp of something that could be reported. In any case, I haven't seen this happen since a patch or two ago.

Yes, 4.7.0 Fixed an issue that could allow survivors to position themselves between the exit spikes and the exit trigger volume and avoid the killer’s attacks in all maps.

And yet, here we are in 5.0.1 and

  • You can stand there and not get hit, accidentally happened to me yesterday.

  • No, why would it be?

  • Unintended use of game mechanics....or exploit thats why.

Because it's an exploit and allows you to reenter the game at full health to take a hit for someone when you should of been chased out.

  • I have found that unless BHVR specifically announces a bug as reportable, they generally will not punish someone for using a bug since it can be easy to accidentally do it

You certainly can report them and see what happens but I'm guessing that this would not be something they'd bop people for

Lol are you serious? Is this how killer mains really think? Can I report you for trying to chase survivors out of match? See how silly that sounds?

  • It was added to keep Victor in the match and to prevent survivors from leaving with Victor. If they try to leave with Victor on their back, they get stopped by the invisible hitbox. Problem is, it's there at all times. You can still use hatchets, guns, whips and such to down people inside but you can't m1 them.

Players are not to be held responsible for game's poor design and mechanical fallacies.

  • Remember when they said they fixed this?

    Me too.

  • Ehhh I don't think it's reportable, the bug definitely is but in this instance there is a time limit that will eventually force the match to end

I agree survivors shouldn't be doing this but due to the limit its not a big deal

No, but taking advantage of an exploit is less than sportsman like, wouldn't you agree.

It's in bad form at the least

  • Yeah I seen this happen many times, it's more than likely a glitch. I don't know what causes it, it happens randomly. So it's not like people are looking to activate it. It's their out of their power so no, it's a bug that no one knows what causes it.

That is not the question here.

  • I ended up in that spot once. I took it in for a few moments as the killer swung 2-3 times then left. If they are the last Survivor left and wait till last second to leave... it's on par with leaving someone slugged to bleed out as the last one(s). Very rude and petty, but not reportable.

  • if there is actually a spot where you can go where the killer is incapable of attacking you and you use that spot against them (e.g. to avoid getting pushed out the exit so you can go back in and rescue someone), then yes that would be reportable.

doesnt matter whether the game is over or not, exploiting a bug is exploiting a bug and thats not allowed by the games rules.

you certainly wont get banned for accidentally being in it once or twice, but knowingly abusing it could lead to a ban.

And yet they banned people for abusing the nurse bug with addons to go at ridiculous movement speeds? Devs need to be consistent. If bug abuse is bannable, it should be bannable. not just for some people (killers)

players can 100% be held responsible for exploiting them though.

whether you like it or not, this game has rules. and one of those rules clearly states that you are not allowed to exploit bugs to give you an advantage over others.
