Spirits ptb was released like a year ago, so i guess we can call it her bday?? :] lol
-
So much love towards her <3
-
Imo shes the best designed killer in the game.... right next to huntress..... the devs hit the nail on the head with her chapter update..... shes waifu material <3 and her perks are amazing.... shes a challenge to play as and against which is what I look for..... I can't praise the devs enough for her design...

And you waste time healing and finding a gen.
Only if you wanna waste that time... it's not hard finding gens and if you're competent in chases theres no need to heal...
-
@Alice_pbg said:
Longer chase is better for survivals. They get more time on gens
True but if you lose the killer... killer wastes time attempting to find you again or find someone else.
-
I sometimes think that they run around the map searching and waiting for the marker/beam of light (the map addon) to spawn because so many people still dont know that it's an addon and think it's this amazing thing lol...

The information on Wikipedia is usually true as well, but you're not allowed to use it as a source for a reason. And that wiki has often gotten DLC release and event information wrong.
The release dates are tentative anyways so the people who data mine the info that goes up on the wiki is true its just that those dates/info are subject to change......
Past events like chinese new year, the halloween cosmetics and invitations and crap all ended up on the wiki after being data mind well before the events hit live and ended up being real/true.... just because these dates haven't been confirmed yet or if they end up not being accurate doesnt mean the person didnt get the info from a good source.
-
At this point they mine as well drop a nice long double BP event and drop the chapter with the dedicated servers "shrugs".... tomorrow's the 31st meaning august is at its end..... the community wants to know and bhvr needs to make a decision...

Okay then he could've ran Ruin or Corrupt Intervention instead. He got punished for committing to the Claud, which took too much of his time. He could've just went for someone else that isn't as good or pressure the gens.
Maaybee corrupt intervention could have help but as players say ya shouldn't have to run a perk to get a decent amount of time in the match.... these players as tru3 stated wanted to make the killer feel powerless, ruin wouldn't have helped and leaving to chase someone else would have only allowed the first claud to finish the gen...
That's my diagnosis of it.

Yeah and you can say the same for killers as they can make gens slower by running Ruin, Pop goes the Weasel, or Corrupt Intervention.
Those dont make up for mistakes dude pop goes the weasel doesnt combat this type of shiet and this vid is evidence of that...

Okay so we have the basement guy downed as LF... almost 4 gens are completed with the 5th being at about 20-25% complete and the 1st hook just happened............. now what?

You make 2-3 mistakes as Survivor and you can be removed from the game.
It goes both ways. I am playing 100 survivor games solo at R1 and keeping data so I can provide actual numbers.
My games yesterday averaged 15 minutes, no game was under 10 minutes.
You make 2-3 mistakes you can gain additional chances vai running certain perks*
Fixed :)

So that every time she uses it at a pallet she is either :
A-blinded or
B- has her power cancelled.
Seems like power in the hands of survivors again...
Yeah that idea wouldnt work at all... the player with the flashlight would be in god mode until the flashlight got used up...

I still disagree, I don't like killers being hard countered by a single item. She would be like Hag, with a good power, but probably unplayable against teams with flashlights. She is a 110% speed killer with a cooldown, her power shouldn't be in the hands of the survivors in any way possible.
I'd rather her stay as is.... I said in my op..... I feel shes perfect! as she is but something tells me shes going to be next on the list.... even though plenty of killers need help... by going for nurse it seems the devs took the other road of nerfing killers instead of adding more variety to the red rank.

I'd be up for this suggestion.
However, since the M1 Killers are still in the same state as before, I don't believe, the only viable Killers should be receiving some heavy or huge nerf, until the M1 Killers would be buffed, to at least, Billy Junior's level.
For example, MacMillan could receive a X % Haste status effect for placing a trap, there may be an Add-on, that causes Broken status effect - Not the Mangled, but Broken, (...).
There are so many possible ways, but nothing is happening... Which is, truly a shame.
Not that it'd make the game more fun for the Killers, but for Survivors too - They'll be finally able to play against different Killers than just against Rin, Sally, Lisa, or Billy Junior.
...Touché.
I'd rather have the aura/outline reveal then the burn as well it brings more then just the stun and an unhappy player since stuns are unfun AF...

Survivors also shouldn't need to run specific perks just to be able to counter two of the killers, but that's where we're at. I agree with your point, but it really does go both ways with this issue.
Survivors dont need to run any perks to be successful against her.... as I said I'm my OP I believe shes perfect as is now.... this is a way though that the devs dont mess with her power because eventually bhvr will end up making changes to stop the portion of the community that you happen to be apart of from complaining...
-
@Marcus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656947#Comment_656947
And ? I still don't want her power to be in the hands of survivors.
I just dont want her power butchered by Dr. Nerfing at bhvr head quarters and with enough complaints from a portion of the community and content creators pushing the portion of the community, eventually something will happen.... its happening to Nurse and let's face it, slight adjustments to her base kit are not going to be slight... ove got no confidence in the devs nerfing killers since freddy, legion, plague etc..... if they actually make "slight" adjustments to nurse and she comes out still strong AF and is still queen I'll be more confident for them........ but atm I'd rather them stick a burn on her and have the survivors have to find her while shes in phasewalk ---> this would be more interactive and rewarding to the survivors if they find her which will be a lot more difficult than burning the poor wraith.
-
It's not just how fast the objective can be completed, yes that is a problem since if me and my crew wanted to we could snap our fingers and have the game over whenever we wanted as SWF.... but along with that......... its bloody boring!!!! And I've said this before, I'm sick of holding a button for over a min with having to be forced-----> forced! Literally if I want more points I'm forced as a survivor to dance infront of the killer and if I want me mates to get more points I have allow myself to get hooked..... it makes no sense and this all boils down to------> gens and how they can be completed in as fast as 4mins...
Hopefully archives offers something fresh thatll take away from the objective ----> and NOT related to daily's! Itll be nice for sure if that's the case.

At least theres some sort of thought going on here and not trying to trash another killer for convenience-_- the outline idea may not be bad..its still be risky due to the clicky noise so it's still not a total negation but risk vs reward..finally productive convorsation

you're honestly not wrong. it shouldve been nondirectional phasing or you can't hear the phase sound in terror radius, not both
Negative they changed the lullaby to non directional for reasons it hinders the killer too much.... she had way too much drawback compared to what she put out...
-
@blue4zion said:
Honestly, I feel they can bring the directional phasing sound back.
They still can't hear it in the terror radius.
And I got really good with her BEFORE it was removed, I really felt she never needed a buff. This is an honest to god truth, but noone agrees with me. I played her soooo much upon release and learned how to use her power quickly, the buff made her feel like an unstoppable beast to me.
Sorry, about the Burn, maybe something to do with her Husk? Or if you can manage to burn her invisible body, that might be interesting 🤔
The only thing I could remotely come close to thinking about bringing back is the sparkly husk...

Yeah I was just thinking that while reading the other thread. So you could do a quick little spinny and reveal her aura but she still wouldn't see you or the light while phasing.
I really like this idea actually...
-
@Snapshot said:
The Perk fixated will very good counter her
I'm looking forward to it.... hopefully fixated provides what the part of the community needs when going against the spirit...
-
@Horus said:
Make it so we can burn the husk and it will cancel her power
Like during the charge the burn cancels the phasewalk.... and if you shine the light on the husk the husk breaks..

@ElusivePukka said:
Maybe not a burn, but rather being able to see her outline during phasing if you catch her in the beam? Gives you knowledge, doesn't ruin the power.

She requires tracking skill, mechanic skill and basic game knowledge, she doesn’t have much counter play but she isn’t comparable to old legion, I haven’t seen anyone compare the two actually.
Many players state she has no counterplay....imho I feel they use "no counterplay" to grab attention... when they state this I look back at old legion because that was actually a killer who had no counterplay....
-
@justarandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/655991#Comment_655991
Wasnt the plan of the devs to "delink" killer powers from perks? Like for example iron will beeing absolutely needed against spirit to have at least the slightest chance against her.
I think that was also the reason why nurses calling did not work with doctor snapping out anymore. So what should be done about that now @Peanits?
It's imo bad designed to be forced using specific perks to counter a killer power
Survivors dont need perks to succeed in this game...

@GrootDude said:

Skill is involved in every killer, skilled can mean about anything, if the huntress is a god tier huntress then she’d likely be harder to play against an average spirit, however skilled could also mean good an I’d rather face the good huntress than the average spirit.
Then why are there so many players making the statement that spirit requires no skill and just a good pair headphones? If skill weren't needed and survivors truly had no chance to make a play and escape I'd be in the same line as many others.... I supported and still to this day support what the devs did to legion-----> what old legion was is the definition of "no counter play" .... you were down no matter what you did, got git even if you performed the sexiest 360, juke of your DBD career... I dont see how spirit even relates to that sort of play..... she gives me thrills/chills when going against her and I actually have fun even if I get stomped while playing her...
-
@GrootDude said:

Hillbilly can down a survivor before as soon as a chase starts, are you actually trying to argue that huntress is stronger than Nurse/Spirit? If so then that is completely wrong.
Huntress is also very loopable at a lot of loops.
Nope we were discussing skill and how its important in playing those certain characters..... would you agree that skilled huntress would be scarier to go against then a average spirit?
-
@Peanits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656044#Comment_656044
It's decent against Spirit, I won't deny that. The issue is that most people won't take a perk just in case it's one specific killer.
I love spine chill not just because it go against spirit... it helps with every killer in every game it just hits harder when going against every other killer that's not spirit or nurse...
-
@GrootDude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656031#Comment_656031
Following that same logic, any bad killer can end a chase faster than nurse but up against good survivors a nurse will more often than not end a chase faster than huntress, also the majority of killers run bbq, you should be predicting it, so yes, it I still your fault.
Not every killer can go from a hatchet hit to the M1 with little to no cooldown so no not every killer can down a survivor faster then huntress...
-
@Peanits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/655992#Comment_655992
Spine Chill still requires you getting lucky and bringing a perk before you know the killer, which goes double because Spine Chill does not fall into the regular meta. Strong windows, sure, but depending on the map, that won't be an option. You really don't want strong windows to be common enough to be considered a counter either, that would be brutally unfun for any killer.
Spine chill isnt given the credit that it deserves.... it shows when the spirit is looking at you and when not.... here while shes in phase you know when shes taking a turn and not looking at you or when shes heading straight for you giving you the opportunity to make a play before she strikes... you dont even really need iron will to "counter her"
-
@GrootDude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656001#Comment_656001
You do still have some time to react to a huntress sniping you and BBQ&C is countered by lockers.
Yeah? And how do you know that the huntress has BBQ for sure until after the fact that she possibly hits you?.... BBQ has many many counters to it actually... the fact still stands that bad ass huntress can end a chase faster then a nurse can actually....
-
@GrootDude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/655941#Comment_655941
Not at all the same for huntress or most killers, nurse and spirit are both alike in this, if they can track then you’ll have to go to a strong window or pallet and hope you guess right, with nurse you have to pray that the map has LOS blockers, the survivors skill doesn’t mean much against a spirit since you have a 50/50 chance of guessing right, unless you can tell me how to track a invisible lady that I cannot hear.
Not at all the same? Even though the 3 are skill based?..... you go against a good huntress and she'll snipe you using BBQ from across the map, if you go against a bad huntress she wont hit the broad side of the barn.... if you go against a good spirit she'll make any safe loop unsafe (which is exactly how its supposed to be and why I play her) if you go against a bad spirit she'll phasewalk in the opposite direction of you everytime.... I see no difference here on how skill works...
-
@GrootDude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/655915#Comment_655915
You can’t see Spirit so you have to guess where she is, I’m not saying nerf spirit but her “counterplay” is not set in stone, it doesn’t work on every spirit, her counterplay depends on the player unless you bring strong windows into the mix.
So it's the samething as going against a huntress, nurse (these 2 mainly) or really any killer actually..... skill matters....... hmmm interesting...
-
@yandere777 said:
Issue with spirit is the moment you give survivors information while she is phasing, i mean and type of info, her ability to kill will plumet all the way to myers tier at best. Killer's in general rely on survivor's mistakes so when a killer who can actively force out a mistakes is thrown into the mix things get hectic.
Spirit has a cooldown on her power, moves at 110% speed, lets survivor's know she is near with her swooshing sound, doesnt see blood and survivors in power. Her only form of tracking is breathing, scrath marks, audio clues, explosions, walking and running in her power. If you shake her off while in her power it will heavily hinder her due to the cooldown and the 110% speed. There is no low risk in her because of her always having what some survivors call a "50-50" with her. If she misses then you can extend the chase more and if she doesn't then you got hit.
Survivors have plenty of tools to counter a spirit. Iron will takes away some of spirits only information, lightweight will make it just that much harder to track you, spine chill will tell you if she is looking at you so you can move a bit to that side until it stops lighting up, windows are a direct counter to her power because she cant phase through em, if you are running near a completed gen the noise will make it harder to hear you, and urban evasion helps you hide easier around rocks and such.
If you feel you HAVE to run 4 perks to "barely" counter her then that's just a you problem. If its possible to get to rank 1 with no perks it shouldn't be a problem when none of your perks dont help you out. Especially when they work just as well against other killers. Before you say not every survivor can get to rank 1 perkless the same can be said about not every spirit is god tier and can track perfectly all the time.
Its a 4v1 game and you should never have an advantage over the killer in a 1v1. You are meant to go down at least once and probably die in half your games. Not every game is an escape and not every game is a death
NO NO NOOthe narrative is that "there is no counter play" so she gets the legion treatment because screw enforcing new play styles and keeping the game full with circling pallets!.... gosh you actually think logic and thought should be in this game!? Seesh.

She can hear you breathe, moan, walk, see scratchmarks - she does not need to see you. Survivors on the other hand can only hear her TR and have no other input on the matter making every attempt to juke her a wild guess with no skill involved.
This is bs... survivors can do plenty to confuse, manipulate the spirit while she is phasing.... just today I simply ran in a big circle just to try something random and it worked!!... man what thinking outside the box does for ya... rather then just vault the window, get to the pallet these are things all killers expect from survivors so its predict that theyll go there......
After running the circle she phased in the opposite direction of me giving me plenty of time to hit another rough loop where wasted more of her.... everyone else however ate shiet because nobody wants to try new things..

Difference is against a billy you can see him coming straight for you with a chainsaw. You can take this information, apply your skill and try to dodge it. A challenge that you feel like you have some input in overcoming.
Spirit, stands still, goes invisible.. Hits you from nowhere. Nothing you could really do about it most of the time.
Thats the difference.
Shes OP because there isn't much a survivor player can do to change the outcome of the chase no matter how good they are.
That isn't fun aka un-fun.
It almost seems like you dont realize that she cant see you either?

I think Ohtofu's and Scotts opinion are invalid towards spirit. Those players have always promoted in saying that every loop should have a mindgame and spirit's power allows every loop to be a mind game. I personally think those players devalue what skill actually is. For example, many different type of genre of games try to define skill, like in FPS games, they're based off quick reactions and quick triggers and people prefire their shots. Is that not skill? What about fighting games where people try to tech throw each other and open each other up to land high-damage strings? This could also be considered a skill. Just to be real, the game has been out for quite a while and it's been really survivor sided for really long time, and it's only recently that killers starting to develop powers that allow them to express skill by outplaying people at loops and spirit is a killer that defines high-level play compared to low-level play. She makes you use your brain instead of just relying a jungle gym and easy to follow red-glow behind you. Spirit Mind games that are true 50/50 that rely on your ability to make educated guess based on how the opponent plays are highest skill ceiling that DBD has to offer.
A common complaint that is you need perks to play against Spirit and Nurse, however the double standard is that killers have had to run a bunch of band-aid fix of mandatory perks for years now and even with those perks, they haven't stood much of a chance. I'd agree that a bunch of mandatory perks to face X killers is unhealthy, however survivors haven't moved an inch to try to improve base game for killer so in that regard, we're getting more even. At the end of the day, I don't ever see them changing god windows, extremely safe pallets loops or fixing SWF/generator game speed which are game-breaking for killer, so in that regard, you can't really complain if killer power become strong to the point that you can't 1vs1 them in 1vs4 game disregarding their mechanical fairness.
You're a beautiful person.... I'm serious
