""The option you presented works as well though and people would actually consider running it", so you still thought it was balanced."

No...saying an idea works and that people would run it is not the same thing as saying something is balanced.

Something working is not inherently good or bad, it just works. Saying someone would run a perk means it's at least a decent perk, it does not say HOW good, whether that be too good or barely good.

"the killer using the perk would have no terror radius for almost the entire match"

No, the survivor would only have Oblivious when on a gen at a specific percentage interval.

"Spine Chill doesn't tell you where the killer's coming from so it can still give the killer a free hit every now and then."

That doesn't stop it from working the majority of the time. It is a highly underrated perk.

I personally think it's much better than Premonition but they are both at the very least viable perks with Spine Chill not far from meta.

"I mentioned BT to reinforce my point on how broken this would be"

I think you are confusing Oblivious with Undetectable. We are talking about Oblivious as that is what would be affecting survivors with this perk. This would not bring BT into what we are talking about.

"Even then, the fact that you have to equip one of those perks to stand a chance is ridiculous."

You don't have to, it's just a hard counter if you did.

"You still thought the op's suggestion was balanced so I stepped in"

That isn't what was said at all. You misinterpreted what I was saying.

"If you think this is all about gen grabs, then you missed @Echorion and my point."

This is another misinterpretation. I never said it was all about gen grabs.

Saying an idea works and that people would use it is implying that it's fine and doesn't need changing, or at least that's what we got from it, so you need to word it better since we didn't misunderstand what you said. Also, I still stand by my point that the idea won't work at all. Tinkerer is a watered down version of op's suggestion and nobodies using it so just buff that instead.

Once again, I was talking about op's suggestion. I didn't bother to talk about your idea of the perk since you didn't get into details on how you think it should work so don't blame me. @Echorion wasn't talking about your suggestion either, it was on op's. You're the one that replied to him first.

I didn't say it would stop working. My point is that Spine Chill doesn't completely counter the perk since you can still run in the killer's direction without knowing where they are and Premonition isn't useful half the time so it's garbage.

Being oblivious after performing any action would prevent BT from working since there's no terror radius.

With this perk enabling any killer to be stealthy at any given time, I'd say any counters to it are a must have. Those perks you mentioned aren't even hard counters since they're inconsistent and it only works on the user.

If I misinterpreted what you said(which I didn't), then you should've worded it better since that's what you implied so it's your fault, not mine.

You said, "We were referencing grabs more than hits and grabs are extremely rare", after I was talking about hits so which is it then?

"The op suggested the oblivious works anytime the survivors perform any action so it would trigger everytime."

I was responding to someone who had commented on my similar suggestion that included a progression limitation, not OP's.

"Oblivious counters any aura reading perks and BT on the killer so I'm curious to know what those counters are."

I wasn't referring to aura reading perks at all. I was referring to things like Spine Chill and Premonition. BT also doesn't really have anything to do with what were talking about since we are referencing Oblivious on gens, not how strong Undetectable is on a killer.

"Having played against GF a lot in red ranks and getting hit when he's in stealth says otherwise."

We were referencing grabs more than hits and grabs are extremely rare. Also, unless the survivor is refusing to heal and just gen rushing an initial hit isn't really an issue.

"Stealth killers aren't stupid enough to just run in the open and reveal their locations to everybody. They'll hide around corners, walls, bushes, rocks, anything that'll keep them hidden."

That's true, but it's also true that using that technique costs a lot more time in a gen rush meta which is the reason you don't see it used much. Yeah they aren't gonna walk through the open field but they also aren't gonna go all the way around to come from behind you in a corner for most cases. This leaves them quite able to be seen and prevent a grab.

"It's a lot easier to do this when survivors are working on a gen in a shack, building, behind walls, and especially indoor maps."

Luckily shack is already one of the most safe spots on the maps to be and the amount of indoor maps is much lower than outdoor ones. A situational benefit.

Earlier, you said, "The option you presented works as well though and people would actually consider running it", so you still thought it was balanced. Not sure if he's exaggerating or not, but I agree that survivors aren't going to get gen grabbed left and right but it would occur from time to time since the killer using the perk would have no terror radius for almost the entire match so it's bound to happen within a few games if the killer knows what to do which would still be a problem.

Spine Chill doesn't tell you where the killer's coming from so it can still give the killer a free hit every now and then. As for Premonition, it's pretty garbage, and I wouldn't bother bringing it since it works when I already know where the killer is most of the time. I mentioned BT to reinforce my point on how broken this would be. Those two perks prevent getting grabbed but it won't always prevent the m1. Even then, the fact that you have to equip one of those perks to stand a chance is ridiculous. The advantages the killer would have with this 1 perk makes it beyond broken.

He was just mentioning one of the reasons as to why the perk would be overpowered. You still thought the op's suggestion was balanced so I stepped in. If you think this is all about gen grabs, then you missed @Echorion and my point.

  • @Blueberry said:

It includes gen progression limitations on the perk, it isn't at all times. Also, the entire perk is completely hard countered by other survivor perks as well if eyes aren't enough.

It's only a free hit or grab if you're playing at low ranks where no one even knows how to play the game yet. At rank 1 that is not the case. All power to you if you want to believe it would be too strong but that's not the case.

The op suggested the oblivious works anytime the survivors perform any action so it would trigger everytime. Oblivious counters any aura reading perks and BT on the killer so I'm curious to know what those counters are.

Having played against GF a lot in red ranks and getting hit when he's in stealth says otherwise. You're seriously undermining the effect of oblivious because "everyone has a pair of eyes". Stealth killers aren't stupid enough to just run in the open and reveal their locations to everybody. They'll hide around corners, walls, bushes, rocks, anything that'll keep them hidden. It's a lot easier to do this when survivors are working on a gen in a shack, building, behind walls, and especially indoor maps.

  • I suggested a buff to Mindbreaker a few months ago but it's now gone so I'll repost.

Mindbreaker: While repairing generators below 50% progression, survivors get exhausted for 10 seconds after they stop the repair action. If the survivor is already exhausted, then the exhaustion timer is paused. While repairing generators above 50% progression, survivors scream and reveal their current location for 6 seconds after they stop the repair action within your terror radius. Revealing survivors locations trigger once every 30 seconds.

This kind of bugs me. Freddy and Spirit are not easy killers to play. They are labeled hard for a reason. It's just that, against many survivors it may seem easy because many survivors are complete potatoes, and the likes of Freddy and Spirit make them go full potato because they are scary by sheer virtue of how they work.

But get a group of good survivors, ones experienced enough to not be scared little tots, or a strong SWF with good communications and you will see why these killers are indeed hard to play. You will get stomped so hard unless you actually have experience with these killers against that level of survivor.

Spirit does take a bit of time to get used to but you get the hang of it pretty quick. Once you do get the hang of it, survivors can't do much but hope that you fk up. Just hearing survivors grunts and tracking scratchmarks isn't that hard. As for Freddy, there's nothing much to him. Just spam snares until survivors step on them and dream project after a hook. As for dream pallets, it's self explanatory.

  • Freddy is kind of like Spirit in that he's one of the easiest to play but is one of the strongest killers. Just spam snares at pallet loops, windows, doorways, stairs, and you are guarenteed a hit. Once you hook a survivor and have BBQ activated, dream project to their gen and use Weasel and then it's basically game over for the survivors. From my experience, whenever a Freddy gets a Weasel activated on a gen that's almost completed, there's no coming back from it. All that time wasted and it's just gone and his addons don't help either. I do think his basekit is fine but being awake for only 60-90 seconds is too short so I think it needs to be increased and his debuffs need to be capped. Keep in mind, his addons don't just slow down 8, 10, or 12 seconds, it adds up throughout the game. There's 5 gens and survivors need to heal each other from time to time.

  • I heard the Doctor is being reworked next so I'm assuming Clown will come after.

  • Still haven't gotten my reward and I restarted my computer multiple times.

  • I think No Mither would be viable if they combined Iron Will tier 3, Resilience and This is not Happening's effect and not showing the broken status effect to the killer in the HUD. Maybe throw in Dead Hard's effect in there too. Going down in 1 hit the entire game should give you a lot more benefits than the current No Mither.

  • I think the reduced mend time is fine but removing the synergy for Feral Frenzy with STBFL and Sloppy was unnecessary.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @Derp

You will never get more then 2 frenzy stabs, only if you are lucky, the "information" to see where the survivors are doesnt help you in any way, and the free hit is not a chase shorten because if you have a brain as survivor you can easily loop legion for ages.

Maybe you always get for some reason bad survivors but if you ever played against good survivors then you will see what I mean, I have a waaaay easier time killing ppl as clown or doc and in the other hand, I am more scared to loop a good doc or clown than a Legion. Me and my friends in swf we always play around with a legion and make fun with him (not of him, we dont bully ppl) but we never take a game srsly against legion because he has no threat at all compared to a doc or clown. Obviously it is your opinion but what you are saying here is clearly a lack of knowledge because if Legion would be THAT great with the "pressure" what he has then he wouldnt be so trash and more ppl would play them.

You will never get a good usage to frenzy, the "free m1" what you call is even a drawback because without addons you lose more distance because of the fatigue than doing a normal hit. The time the survivors mend is just a stall without any pressure, in that 10 sec mend you are trying to run around and stab other survivors, that is not any effective time you gain, it is just the time you need to spread your frenzy and that stalls the game for no reason at all.

Even 3 gen doc can do that better, and beeing injured is not a threat at all, especially when the killer has no power. Why do you heal against a nurse, spirit, ghostface etc? Because they can kill in you seconds, why should you heal against a legion? You dont need too, when I play as legion good survivors just dont heal and do gens and that is a really effeciant tactic since I still have a hard time catching well looping survivors. Without any power shorten loops to down survivors is clearly a big disentvantage. Again I am talking about if you play against good survivors, not boosted survivors.

If you still think legion is better then sorry you just need to play more this game^^ I dont want to be rude but as you can see here, I tried to explain to you and gave you a ton of reasons why legion is defenatly worse then clown and doc. If you still think it is not then it is your choice and you are not understanding or not reading what I wrote.

Getting multiple frenzy stabs depends on the build, map, mindgame, and how coordinated the survivors are. Knowing where survivors are means you can go over to them and make them stop what they're doing so it is helpful information nonetheless. Downing a survivor in 1 hit is always better than having to m1 twice. Just because you have a hard time mindgaming good survivors doesn't mean it's pointless. I can easily loop a Clown and Doctor because their powers are so easy to play around and they still have to m1 me twice.

If you have a much better time playing Clown and Doctor compared to Legion then that doesn't necessarily mean they're better overall. There are a lot of factors that goes into it like I mentioned in the beginning. When I said he had good pressure, I wasn't trying to say he's a good killer overall, but if you compare his pressure and stall potential to Doctor and Clown, it's way better.

"You never get good usage out of Frenzy." I'd say the 4 second fatigue is worth it since it's way better to get a free m1 hit to multiple survivors compared to just being a normal m1 killer. Even then, survivors gaining distance from a normal attack is almost the same as a 4 second fatigue because of the attack cooldown and the speed boost the survivor gets after so it isn't as bad as you say it is. Without addons, mending is 15 seconds so lets get that straight. Preventing survivors from working on gens is always a good thing, no matter what the situation is.

3 gen Doc isn't better than a well optimized Legion, lets be real here. The survivors can easily play around it by being coordinated and working on gens together while the others work on another anytime the Doc goes away. Since he's just an m1 killer, all he can do is injure them at best unless a survivor is being a potato and screws up. Once again, healing against Legion depends on the situation, just like any other killer. If survivors are far ahead with gens then it's better to heal, and if there's still a ton of gens left, then it's better to gen rush. Using Feral Frenzy on a healthy survivor still wastes a bit of time compared to just downing an injured survivor in 1 hit.

I already put in a lot of hours into this game so I don't need to play more to prove my point tyvm. Even with your explanation I still disagree with you, not because I don't understand what you're saying, but simply because you underestimate Legion's potential.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @Derp

Then tell me, where is the difference between trying to kill a survivor without any power and having a EVEN way harder time than clown or doctor. Or having a underwhelming power always? The answer is almost none, obviously all of these killers we are mentioning are all almost at the same trash level. But what you guys are saying "atleast a free M1 hit" yeah well that is no difference between having a underhwhelming power. So stop trying to protect legion with this nothing saying argument xD

    @BenZ0 said:

    @Derp

Also you are right, it is about underrated, but underrated means also that a killer is to unpopular/less played even though he is better then ppl think. And that is DEFENATLY not Legion. It is not a opinion, the majority of ppl says that. Look at so many tierlists that random ppl made, almost everyone, from pro to casual says that legion is one of the worst killers xD That is not "underrated".

Legion getting a free m1 hit during a chase is part of his power, which shortens chases a lot more than a killer who has to m1 twice. Also, having to mend and heal wastes over 30 seconds without perks or addons so being able to see and deep wound all 4 survivors means he's really good at stalling the game and pressuring gens. Like I said in my first post, Clown and Doctor have almost no map pressure and survivors can easily play around their powers in chases which is where they excel in. Against Clown, just drop the pallet early and run in a different direction or get behind cover while the gas is in midair. Against Doctor, just keep running through the pallet when he charges his shock since he loses a lot of distance from the decreased mobility.

The difference between the worst killer to the 2nd/3rd worst killer is pretty big because of their stats and their powers excel in different ways so it shouldn't be downplayed. When we say Legion is underrated, we mean that he isn't the worst killer in the game that the majority says he is. I would put him at the 3rd or 4th worst killer, which is a lot better than being the worst.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @Derp

If you say so, how I said, Legion is secretly the top tier killer ;)

I never claimed Legion is a good killer. Me and the others are saying he's underrated, there's a difference. Your main argument is that Legion is the worst killer because of his chase potential but at least you get a free m1. Doctor and Clown however, can hardly do anything in chases and pressure gens even against good survivors.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @TheRoyalOwl

Yep Legion is secretly the top killer just no one knows how to play this well designed and perfectly balanced killer :) And leatherface is the second best, you just need to aim correctly with the chainsaw!

He can m1 and see all survivors locations with 125% speed and ignores their defenses, which makes it very difficult for survivors to play around so this applies a lot of pressure. After you commit on 1 survivor, the others have to waste time mending. Clown's power can easily be played around by dropping the pallet early or moving out of the way before it lands. Doctor's power can simply be ignored in a chase since it severely hinders his movement speed when charging his shock which allows survivors to loop him again and again so this punishes him instead. In conclusion, both Clown and Doctor have weak map pressure and chase potential compared to Legion.

  • I think Legion is underrated only because the majority think he's the worst killer in the game when he really isn't.

you just said people who have actual experience playing a killer doesn't matter then congratulated him on being stubborn even though he was proved wrong several times.

Uhh no, I didn't say that at all. I'm saying the ones with Spirit profile pics comes off as biased. Also, he isn't being stubborn because he wasn't proven wrong.

It has been shown in multiple videos where it was tested.

I never noticed the glass shards glowing when she phases in all my time playing against her so I'm pretty sure that's bs. I'd say it's the same myth as her being able to move grass while phasing.

This comment took forever to get approved so I'll just edit. I saw the thread of her shards glowing and its barely noticeable and it still takes like a few seconds for it to start glowing so by the time you notice, it's too late.

  • Urban helps you to hide from the killer when they're really close and you're a lot harder to see from a distance when crouching.

Im equally against that. Ive taken plenty of strode keys. The whole idea of seeing the character so assuming you hate the perks though would be like me facecamping a laurie because I hate DS so she has to pay for picking the wrong character...

No joke, I got into a game right after i finished posting and then a Huntress disconnects when the map's Haddonfield.

Thats a problem though. This idea that your just gonna DC against any killer you dont wanna face is kinda BS.

It's the same as killers dcing just because they don't like the map. It happens but you just gotta get over it and thinking of the survivors perspective makes it a lot easier to move on.

When an entire team quits out before even SEEING me, its not because my Pop is too strong. I have no problem "firing back" at people who DC 15 seconds into the game, and then bash me in the endgame chat.

Like I mentioned earlier, since you're a Freddy, they already have an idea on what kind of build they're about to go up against. It's kind of like if most Huntresses were using the instadown+belt addon and survivors just dc once they hear the lullaby because they've had enough of it and don't want to take their chances. If they get pissed off at you for using it then just let it go. At the end of the day, people don't want to play a game that they know isn't going to be fun for them including you. Plus, they couldn't tell if you were a Freddy in the lobby but if they did, then they definitely would've left and went to go find another match.

I'm actually pretty surprised to hear that other ppl are using surge and STBFL, let alone that they're considered meta or something. Pop and BBQ just seemed pretty obvious. BBQ gives me an idea on which gen to USE the teleport on so I'm not just randomly using it. Pop makes sense if I'm teleporting to a gen that's been worked on and hasn't been affected by surge. Surge affects gens near where I downed the person, while BBQ shows me a target far away...

Point being... I try to think of synergy when thinking of perks for each killer. My builds are different on my Myers than on my Freddy, my Huntress, my clown ect. Their powers work good with different perks. It's like how I wouldnt tell you to run no mither and fixated together, in an attempt to avoid strong builds and make the game more fun for the killer.

I also forgot to add... I can't use any perks that have anything to do with TR for obvious reasons. Monitor, distressing, unnerving, infectious fright, ect... Doesn't work when Freddy has no TR to sleeping survivors.

I said the perks your using are common except Surge. As for STBFL, that's used a lot in any m1 killer.

Keep in mind, I'm not trying to persuade you to use a weaker build because I don't want killers to be too strong and make it more fun. You asked me what build you should use to make it fair so I gave my two cents. Just know that if you keep using that build then expect people to ragequit from time to time and try not to fire back at them because it doesn't help.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/808127#Comment_808127

Im trying to avoid totem perks for the sake that they get cleansed very quickly. Pop is a reliable perk, which is why i picked it over ruin. Bloodwarden is pretty much useless anymore since most ppl 99% the gates until its time to go. If I down someone and open a gate myself... Thats just announcing that BW is gonna hit, Point being though... my build is coherent to the character as well as well rounded. Unlike other Freddys, you dont see 4 slowdown perks on my build, lol. I say coherent in that it makes sense. Theres a reason you dont see nurses using brutal strength and bamboozle for example, lol.

Your build is pretty typical of an avg Freddy player except for Surge but it's arguably better than Ruin. I'm just trying to say that you don't need the best perks and addons to do good and have fun, especially on one of the best killers in the game. Just seeing the same op builds over and over again is inevitably going to make people toxic. Since you are a Freddy main and I'm not, it's better if you figured out what works best for you. If you prefer using that build the most then I can't change that since it's your opinion and you know more than me about Freddy.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/808069#Comment_808069

Thats kinda the predicament. I already use STBFL for better chase potential, and since I actually like to play pallets instead of swing through em and break em all... brutal strength, fire up, enduring andn spirit fury arnt for me. Typically killer perks come down to Chase perks, slow-down, tracking and "other" (perks like mad grit that dont really fall anywhere else). Since my goal isnt to break every pallet, that leaves me with just a handful of chase perks, which I use STBFL for that. BBQ handles my tracking for the most part, letting me have back to back chases most of the time. I'm left with 2 slots, and i unless bodyblocking becomes a thing again, im not gonna need agitation or anything like that. I'd be running either slowdown perks, like sloppy, thanaphobia, pop, surge, ruin, ect...or instadown perks like devour, haunted ground, make your choice, ect.

I think using just 1 slowdown perk like sloppy, thana, or ruin is fine on freddy since survivors can play around it and isn't too strong. Just replacing pop with something like devour or blood warden would make it a lot more fair. Of course, this wouldn't be the best build for him but that's the point, otherwise people are gonna ragequit.

  • @LordGlint said:

What perks would you recommend me slap on Freddy for it to be fair

I honestly don't know since I never played reworked Freddy but I think just replacing weasel with something else would be great since you already have pressure with dream projection and addons to slow the game down so weasel is really just overkill in my opinion.

  • Use whatever you want but what i'm really trying to say is don't be surprised if survivors dc when you're using a top tier killer with the best perks and addons.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/807904#Comment_807904

Pop is pretty much the only reason to even kick a gen anymore. Typically its not worth the time to kick a gen without it since survivors will often time tap it right after. Your gonna find it on most Freddys since Freddy teleports to gens and it naturally synergizes with him. Hook a survivor, see which gens are being worked on with BBQ/thrilling tremors, teleport to it, kick it and chase whoever was on it.

As far as DS and flashlights... I face those all the time. I still dont DC as soon as I see obsession claws pop up or something, lol.

That's the reason why they dced. Survivors know right off the bat what kind of build Freddies use because it's always the same and it also shows what kind of add ons he's using when survivors are asleep so they don't have to play for long to figure it out.

At least DS and flashlights you can play around it pretty easily but you can't play around Weasel or Surge and that's whats frustrating about it. That feeling you get when you repair a gen at 95% only to go back down to 70 then 45 and so on is the worst and it happens a lot against him.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/807887#Comment_807887

They DCed within 15 seconds, cant figure out a perk loadout THAT fast without seeing a killer, lol.

Once again...its modest when you look at actual values. Surge is 6.5 seconds and Pop is 20 seconds after each hook. Most people are going to run some sort of slowdown perks, I just try to do it without ruin. As far as the addons goes...They havent released any that actually benefits his snares really...

It isn't modest when it all adds up. Also, having a killer use weasel when you're almost done with a gen is almost like getting dsed or getting flashlight saved as killer. You add Surge and couple that with snares, projection, add ons and it isn't fun to play against.

  • @LordGlint said:

The screenshots i took were DCes from people who hadnt even seen me yet. For all they knew, i went in perkless. I know people hate going against "forever freddy" each game with 4 slowdown perks, but as you can see from my screenshot...that wasnt the case. I think my slowdown is rather modest really.

They're complaining about your build in both screenshots so they definitely knew who you were. Also, weasel+surge with chains and paint brush isn't modest at all. That build is specifically used to slow the game down.

  • Most people hate playing against Spirit but I'd argue that Freddy is way worse. He slows down the game way too much from progression to movement speed and it just gets on your nerves after a while. I hate people that dc but I understand why they did it in your games as him.

Thanks. I think it would be very interesting to try. My only concern is it could make looping a bigger issue. Of course that's what testing is for.

I think it'll be unbalanced since all 4 survivors could be running it and move faster throughout the game. Hope's effect is already pretty decent but the timer needs to be longer or just make it last forever once it activates.

Also for the record Open Handed is a great perk, and (I think, not sure) it can be stacked twice in a team, with one exception which I’ll outline.

    So it works with:

    • key aura reading ranges
    • OoO (from a potential 72m to 80m or 88m if you’re the Obsession. From 64m to 72m or 80m if not the Obsession)
    • Bond (from 36m to 44m or 52m)
    • Kindred (I believe it has a hard cap. Can only be extended to 24m of killer aura reading. 2 Open Handed don’t extend Kindred beyond 24m)
    • Plunders Instinct (from 32m to 40m or 48m)
    • Left Behind (from 32m to 40m. 2 Open Handed won’t work because whomever else may have ran it is either dead or escaped already)
    • Detectives Hunch (from 64m to 72m or 80m)

I think I’ve covered everything. Not sure if I’ve forgotten something that has a range restriction.

Open Handed stacks for all survivors so it can increase aura reading range by 32 meters if everyone runs it.

She gives tell tales when she is phasing.... her glass glows and her veins pop... it's not like a sign over her head saying "hey I'm using my power!" And it shouldn't be... but if you pay attention you can notice...

Even then, you still don't know where she's phasing.

It really isn't... you can do a similar pallet juke on her that you do with nurse... go through the pallet wait a second go back through the pallet and pull it down.... spine chill helps with this... its not hard mate, on ps4 shes queen, you have to improvise and once you get used to the playstyle and tell tales shes a ton of fun..

I hope bhvr makes more like her.

Well, all the disconnects and forum posts says otherwise. Like you said, I didn't have much of a problem facing her after learning how she's played but I agree that it isn't fun when you're at a window or a pallet loop and she decides to phase. At that point, it's just a gamble and not much skill involved.

  • If Spine Chill doesn't work on tier 1 Myers then it shouldn't work on the other stealth killers since that's what they're going for.

    I personally will not.

I will be happy as well as Freddy got reworked, Dying Light was redesigned, Wraith became playable (at least a bit), etc.

Reworked old stuff should replace dlc's very well IMHO

This. If they just focused on getting rid of bugs and balancing over/underpowered perks/items/addons/offerings and killers, then that would make most people happy.

"If DS is activating in 90% of your games, then that simply means you're tunneling in almost every game and should be punished for it since that is how DS was designed"

I'm talking about me using it as a survivor...

DS also procs many times when a killer isn't tunneling.

"If camping became meta then Kindred would be meta too since it's designed to punish that playstyle so killers would have to adapt."

No, because kindred doesn't counter camping.

"Just because a killer slugs doesn't always mean they can get punished for it."

They "can", whether your team does or not is up to them.

"hey can leave a downed survivor and then down another very quickly so the other 2 survivors won't get enough time to pick them up especially when they're on the other side of the map or if the killer is running perks that slow healing, not because they made a misplay."

If they're downing them that fast then you have a bad team. Most the healing slow down perks are lack luster which is also why they aren't used much.

If you get your teammates up successfully then that killer just lost A LOT of time because he didn't get a hook out of his time spent and that whole time your team had at least a 4th person slamming a gen.

"If DS is working against you in 90% of your games, then you probably need to change the way you play."

Once again, I'm talking about as the survivor, not as the killer.

"I understand there are killers that are very underwhelming right now but tunneling shouldn't be the right way to make a killer viable in red ranks."

If you don't like it blame the devs and their balancing, the killers are just working with the hand they've been dealt. They didn't choose it.

"Those killers need a buff to make them viable in general."

    I agree.

"Changing a perk because certain killers can't afford to play around it is just a band aid solution."

I agree. However, if it ONLY punished tunnelers I would agree with you. Currently though, it does not. 1 minute of immunity takes it way past anti-tunnel. I get hit with DS when I'm not tunneling simply because I found the same guy again after hooking a different guy and he stuck around. Make it either last 40 seconds OR deactivate if a different person is hooked. Then it would literally be just for anti-tunneling and I would agree with you.

Then you should've mentioned that it was working in 90% of your games as a survivor since i assumed you were just a killer main that isn't bothering to play around it, especially when most survivor mains think it's a balanced perk. Plus, you didn't even explain why it works so much for you as a survivor since most of them will agree with me that it doesn't work often, unless you're thinking in the killers perspective.

I should've said Kindred punishes campers instead of countering it.

I agree that killers can get punished for slugging anytime since I didn't factor in certain addons or perks that can counter it.

If DS is working against you when you're not tunneling then either go for someone else or wait a bit for it to go away. If you've hooked a survivor and then go for the person with DS activated, then their activation timer should've almost been up by then.

  • @Blueberry said:

I'd still say that means your team is making a lot of misplays then. If they are slugging to play around it then that's a big risk play on his part that isn't getting punished.

I'm just saying that for him to not tunnel a single person and still 4k he had to be outplaying your team a lot. Especially if he was playing an M1 killer. DS activates for me in 90% of my games at rank 1.

If DS is activating in 90% of your games, then that simply means you're tunneling in almost every game and should be punished for it since that is how DS was designed. If camping became meta then Kindred would be meta too since it's designed to punish that playstyle so killers would have to adapt.

Just because a killer slugs doesn't always mean they can get punished for it. They can leave a downed survivor and then down another very quickly so the other 2 survivors won't get enough time to pick them up especially when they're on the other side of the map or if the killer is running perks that slow healing, not because they made a misplay. This doesn't just occur with Nurses, Spirits, or Billies, it can occur with any killer that's chasing an injured survivor while slugging.

If DS is working against you in 90% of your games, then you probably need to change the way you play. I understand there are killers that are very underwhelming right now but tunneling shouldn't be the right way to make a killer viable in red ranks. Those killers need a buff to make them viable in general. Changing a perk because certain killers can't afford to play around it is just a band aid solution.

"DS isnt that strong at all."

It's literally an S tier perk right now, hence why every rank 1 game you have at least 3 if not all 4 survivors running it.

"The stun time is laughable as long as you cant escape with it, cause killers wont lose you within such a short amount of time."

The entire point isn't to lose the killer, it's to get to another loop.

"With the change its just a dead perk when the unhooker gets downed immediately after unhook, which isnt that uncommon."

If this is actually happening then that means it was a stupid save in the first place and your team is misplaying. That isn't the perk being bad, it's your team being bad.

"Or when you get slugged so someone can be hooked before."

If it forces a slug that is already a benefit to your team because slugging is a high risk move in the first place that is very easily punished.

This perk activates almost every game and if it didn't then the killer was playing extremely "fair" and your team probably won quite hard. If you didn't then y'all either played terribly or it was a nurse.

I agree with you except for the last part. DS only works in like a fifth of my games since killers always play around it, not because I "played terribly". The only time DS worked in almost every game was when the Stranger Things DLC came out and I'd play Steve.

  • @NMCKE said:

I think it should be "Complete a heal action" instead of "heal a survivor the equivalent of one health state" :)

They should change it to this and increase healing speed by 33% until the perk gets activated. Also, make it so that the broken status effect isn't shown to the killer since it encourages tunneling.

You decide to select We'll Make It. Everything's going well so far. Someone gets hooked but it doesn't matter because you have BT and We'll Make it. Meg gets hooked as you unhook David. You want to heal, you must heal. But he runs and runs.... and runs.

You scream 'WHY A YOU RUNNIN'? WHY A YOU RUNNIN??' but he. Just. Keeps. Running. Ace has joined in at some point and you chase after David together but David doesn't stop. You point, you come hither him but to no luck. David won't stop, no not until he finds the furthest rock in the furthest corner in the map. Finally you can heal with the last of We'll Make It!!! You heal him 1/4 of the way there but he starts running again. We'll Make It has now run out and the killer finds us. It was all a waste of time. Curse you David!!

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. As you can tell from my harrowing tale many a survivor loves to run, but please... no more.

On a serious note, I love We'll Make It but it can be aggravating as hell, especially after rank rest lol

How long have you had to chase someone down to heal them, or even them heal you?

Even if the survivor is just running from a small distance away from the hook, I just ignore them and work on a gen. I mean, if the killer is no where near us, just stand still and let me heal you otherwise you're just wasting my time and I'm not going to deal with that.

The disrespect is you claiming it isn’t okay for a teenage girl to look like her. There ARE girls that look like her. Saying someone can’t look like that and that they need to have an altered face is a systemic issue perverting our society as a whole.

People like relating to characters they play too, and you’re disregarding that. People don’t just want a superficial image of what society says is acceptable as “okay” because even that is held to a higher standard then is truly fair.

i understand what you’re saying, my issue isn’t comprehension. I just think your opinion is shallow, and I’m voicing my disagreement with it being a change that should be implemented. It diminishes not only the relatability factor of the cast, but comes from a systemically immoral enforced image of what’s acceptable as “average”.

So what if she has a wide nose and her eyes are farther apart than the other characters. Those do fit with some classically Swedish facial structures, and makes sense from her heritage. And it isn’t considered ugly in all cultures, some cultures do consider those features attractive. This game played worldwide and there are several characters that already fit the idea of beauty you are proposing should be implemented. Other demographics should be represented as well. Some people have that facial structure. So what is she has bad posture, it fits her personality to stand her head craned forward since she’s used to sneaking around and looking around corners.

Your missing the point that your idea of what’s an average level of beauty is as imbalanced as your concept of what’s exceptionally beautiful.

Stop acting pretentious about a character in a video game. Seriously, it isn't that big of a deal for most of us. I'm disrespecting people that look like her? Okay, you're getting way too deep into this. All I said was that she has some cosmetics that look so bad it's almost as if they're making her look as bad as possible. I don't know where this whole society thing came about since it has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. We don't really care if there aren't that many ugly people presented in shows or video games. Just making her look okay is all we're asking.

There are people in this thread that like how she looks. Your first claim is invalid when people do find her pleasing to the eye and don’t find her to be an eyesore. She already exists in the form you’re referencing in your first bullet point. Some people finding her not attractive, or finding her to be an eye sore is not the same as everyone finder her to be that way.

Beauty is subjective, and it really sounds like YOU can’t respect that people do like her already, she’s the third or fourth most popular character to play even after perks are unlocked. It seems people are happy with her just fine when you recognize they choose to play her when they don’t have to.

most people don’t think she literally looks like a monster, it’s a bunch of people that don’t get turned on by her and make fun of her appearance because she isn’t hot. And that is really mostly with her two default heads. Still fun to make jokes and poke fun at stuff, and that has become a part of the game. But characters who aren’t classically attractive belong in this game as much as the classically attractive ones.

in a game with rotting corpse women, and creepy clown sociopaths there isn’t a good argument against having a survivor who isn't meeting your standard of attractiveness. Like, there are far uglier characters in the game, and far grosser things you see playingthis survival horror.

The only characters who have a relevant argument when it comes to changing their appearance are Laurie, Tapp, and Quinten and that’s because they are literally based off of an actor, and their models don’t look like them.

a huge part of the game is having people from different backgrounds, with different appearances and styles, etc. so her look adds to that.

If you don’t like her face THAT MUCH then simply don’t play as her. You don’t have to, and other people enjoy playing as her so it doesn’t make sense to change her/get rid of her current look.

And in respond to the “but I have to see her in game even if I don’t play her” complaint, you have to see a rotting skeleton hag and a dismembered and nearly naked 19 year old who was butchered by her father, and a man who wears people’s faces, and someone with a second face growing out of their chest/shoulder, etc.

making her “not an eye sore” is so illogical a point when taking all of that into account

I meant that most people don't like how she looks, which is why you got the Nea killer meme. Most people will agree that Nea isn't very attractive but that wasn't really my point. Brokedown said, "What is this bizarre obsession with every survivor needing to be physically appealing to everyone?", so I answered by saying everybody likes beautiful characters so it isn't difficult to understand. I then referenced the head cosmetic with the sideburns as an example of how bad she looks.

You're right, beauty is subjective but most people will agree on who's attractive and who isn't. Also, I never disrespected his opinion in any way. He just came off as rude to the people he was responding to.

Most people think she looks like a monster because she's abnormally ugly. I know this sounds messed up but I don't know how to explain it any other way and sugar coating it won't do anything.

Me and many others in this thread aren't asking for Nea to be pretty. We just want her to look decent. Of course, making her look pretty would be nice but if not, then that's okay.

Also, Hag and the other killers you've mentioned that look the way they do is fine, since that's what people expect them to look like, but a teenage girl that looks like a hobo isn't.

  • Oh damn, looks like you got me. I guess I can't come back from this one.

"Everyone wants a character to be pleasing to the eye."

    1. Nope, not everyone

    And

    2. Different people find different things "pleasing to the eye"

    It isn't rocket science. 🚀

    1. People do want the characters to be pleasing to the eye, or at least the character shouldn't give the player an eye sore when they look at them.
    2. Yeah, I can see that clearly, but most people agree Nea looks like a monster but you can't seem to respect that. And by the way, I said it isn't rocket science because you were wondering why everyone wants the characters to look decent when it really isn't difficult to understand so I'm not sure why you said it back to me but okay.

"Break chase at strong loops" he says. What do you do when you load into a map where 80-90% of the pallets are safe if you have a brain, a god window has spawned, and there's plenty of infinites to be had with balanced landing? Oh and hey, someone spawned on your ruin.

Go on a chase longer than a minute? Lose 3 gens. "Noob killer ez".

Break the chase it took you maybe 30-40 seconds to get into, waste another 30-40 seconds finding the next chase, and then get into another chase just to repeat the exact same process?

There is a reason you only really see a handful of killers played at the red ranks. The m1 killers can't really deal with the gen rushing unless you are using crutches or hardcore camping / tunneling.

Then wouldn't that mean the m1 killers are unbalanced and not the gens? I mean, if Nurse, Spirit, and Billy are doing just fine when the gen speed is too fast then that would mean the other killers just aren't good enough.

  • :/ Well, that sucks to hear. I always try to boop him or poke his butt when I see him.
