  • I'm going to edit my post at a later time so that it makes more sense, I'll also go into better detail.... I'm at work so it can be a bit difficult to take time to go into more of what this ability is

  • I enjoy indoor maps because I cant see the killer coming towards me when they're like 50meters away.... it puts me on edge sometimes lol

  • @AshleyWB said:

Except it's not showing off the demogorgans sense of smell from extreme distance so I'm kinda iffy on it.

It is a good idea for a perk... not much actual use of blood trails come into play

  • Seriously... I think this was moved just so the discussion doesn't blow up... so they send it here in hope's it dies lol

Typical killer main can't tell what sarcasm is your so entitled! Of course the demogorgon needs nerfs because it shouldn't even have a power that's how the killer would be balanced!

    Finally someone that understands!

  • Theres going to be soo many noobies running around when this hits live..

  • @Jesya said:

I am so excited. This is going to bring more people to the game with their huge fan base.

A new indoor map too it seems. Very very cool.

Same.... I am so stoked about this!!

wait where did they actually confirm it?

A bit different then nurse though....

Ppl keep bringing up aura reading perks, but this might counter spinechill and premonition as well. If EW1 Myers is what they're basing this effect off of...

God I hope not.... spinechill doesn't show the exact the location, you still need map awareness.... prettymuch still need your brain while using it

BL i can see nerf of this, and BT yea they can just give him some of downside effect, like if BT is used on you, you have broken status effect or something like that

    Ssssssshhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • @Ark_the_Bonsai said:

I don't think they would because that would involve completely reverting code for things that have changed thoroughly and risking breaking things now. Not to mention the ridiculous download requirements that'd come out of it

I like the idea. It just doesn't look practical

That's true I wasnt even thinking, like maybe every hour or so the game would have to download something in order for it work..... hmmmmmm

A Halloween event with old NOED and old DS would be horrifyingly horrible goodness.

That has not been brought up, until you just did. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't do that. Old NOED was really horrible. :)

It was stupid strong for sure lol xD

  • @Acromio said:

Are you seriously complaining about one of the worst tracking perks in the game?

Hehe xD....... in all seriousness whispers can be countered simply by being near a downed, hooked player that way it won't pick you alone up.... the longer the killer spends looking for you the more time they're wasting....... why should you waste a perk slot on something that's so easily countered now....... yes experienced killers will use this better and find survivors easier but not too many players stick with it to become "elite" with the perk..

  • I want a whole new hub/lobby... hopefully it comes in the near future... I'd enjoy being able to runaround the campsite, maybe put some pallets and loops around at... it would be fun I think

Spirit and Prayer beads still have counter play, I gave you examples it is your choice not to use them.

If you don’t want to play immersed then you can still loop if you’re good at it.

This /\ ... it's not like you forget how to use ironworks window or the cowshed because the killer brings a mori....

Being unpredictable also helps against spirit, if you bring iron will and play unpredictable you can make spirits feel like giving up and IW isnt required you spin/move around manipulating your sounds and scratches you can do the same effect on her.... like she cant us abuse the shiet out of it

  • @Scal3r said:

I am so sick of these posts over and over and over again

  • @Almo said:

I don't agree NOED rewards a Killer for playing badly any more than Adrenaline rewards a Survivor for playing badly.

You spend an entire perk slot maybe to get a bonus in the endgame. So you're playing handicapped. In addition, NOED has a simple counter: do the totems. They're not that hard to do, and they even award BP and now emblem progress as well.

I feel like NOED in its original form, with no time limit or totem counter, was too much. As it stands, it just doesn't seem to be a real problem.

Has the idea of bringing old NOED out to play for Halloween (just Halloween) ever been brought up?

  • No... old legion will forever be the accident children lol....... ghostface is not braindead, you have to be aware of your surroundings when having to hide to keep your shroud up.....

  • Least favorite to go against - wraith..... to damn ez

    Favorite - spirit

While yes, theres plenty of resources you can go out and check if you suspect your understanding of something is wrong...That requires you to know that the killer DOES NOT have an aura reading view of you to begin with. You have to know your understanding of something is infact wrong. If I was to call a status "imma instakill you" youd be abit surprised if it just shows you as a different color or something to the killer. Likewise, the status "exposed" which is defined as "not covered or hidden; visible" for some reason has NOTHING to do with being visible or not hidden. Just like you COULD take it upon yourself to look up the status "Imma instakill you" and just get use to the misleading name...you could also just call it something that makes sense.

Every game has their own terminology.... "exposed" has been here for years and is not hard to figure out...

  • @YaiPa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/627389#Comment_627389

Ohh by grab you mean a legit instadown basically. Idk, it's something you need to see before judging.

Yes.... idk about like the shorter height loops that are easier huntress to throw over, like maybe that would be too easy... I mean grabbing through a wall is a prediction and blind attempt..... but like how fast would it be, how big would the killer have to be for it to be viable even?

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

I don't see how that could be implemented.

    And why's that?

  • @YaiPa said:

Huntress can already to this in some loops. This ability would anyway either hit survivors (so huntress v2) or slow them down (freddy v2, only harder).

No I'm not talking hitting..... I'm talking grabbing.... there was the idea awhile back that was almost put in the game where the killers power was him being able to smash through walls.....this was dubbed OP and for certain reasons lol...

My idea is (which it needs more to it) that the killer can punch through the walls and grab the survivor if successful

  • @Raven014 said:

I disagree that it needs to be changed. You are always vulnerable in the game. Exposed is a perfectly good word for it. You are Exposed to instant death. I figured that out pretty quickly after first starting. Simplifying it removes what little knowledge you need to understand the game. Dumbing it down, as it were. In this I agree with @Roobnus.

However, I kind of agree with @HazeHound about not needing to know where the effect came from.

However, when it comes to the new effect, I think it should only be noticeable if you're in the killers' terror radius. You still get the icon, but not the screen effect.

I know I don't share a common opinion on this thread, but there you go.

Agree with this /\ ..... theres also a wiki, youtube, dozens of popular streamers, the forumns, reddit, Facebook communities etc...... I bet the noobies can find the information on what "exposed' means.... noobies are going to struggle for a bit... it happens in every game.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

@Bravo0413 there'd be no point to the test because no one would bring aura reading. If they add it, they add it, but I'm telling you that you guys are gonna start getting mad when you start seeing all the meta perks EVERY game instead of every other game because another group of not even meta survivor perks are getting nerfs.

Next they'll nerf Quick and Quiet and Dance With Me. Then another viable but not meta build will go out the window and we'll see an even larger amount complaining about DS and Adrenaline because no one's running surprise off meta loadouts anymore.

And if that happens its strictly out of the frustration of the survivors..... because this effect works mikey, GF, pig, wraith.... 4 out of how many now killers? Doesnt mean survivors should stop running OoO, alert etc..... this will only be super good on GF and this will work when hes in stealth, which he can be broken out of........ pig cant be crouched the whole time, T1 Myers has always been a thing but only super fun on lerys other maps isnt that viable so hes better to go t2 asap, wraith cant stay cloaked all the time.... soo this isnt as game breaking to aura perks as people may assume.... this just helps with the jump scares....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626384#Comment_626384

"Viable options" that will pretty much guarantee that you get caught and hooked. Sorry that's not viable. "Doing gens" is not viable because it doesn't address the issue. You could "do gens" against a face camping killer but it didn't change the fact that body blocking the unhook prompt was unbalanced.

And I'm still waiting for one of you to tell me why the devs would change totem spots previously SPECIFICIALLY to address this same issue, then turn around and make new totem spots that are 100x worse than the ones they fixed.

All the spots werent "fixed" anyways.... any corner or crevice spot can be trapped this way..... the basement totem in badham has existed since its release ..... survivors have gotten since back then and the totem spots that they made were terrible.....

Yes and while chasing you theres no pressure on gens, while humping the totem no pressure on gens.... which the main thing here are the gens.... I doubt anyone else will truly worry about that totem if theres no pressure on the gens and they're completed before devour activates or lullaby has a chance to become viable......

I'll sit there and break those totems and annoy the crap out of that trapper and laughs as he wastes his time wind sprinting back and forth

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626288#Comment_626288

You're not getting it. I don't care if you can do all 5 gens and all 4 other totems in 2 minutes. That misses the entire point I am trying to make, LIKE I KEEP SAYING.

NO TOTEM SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO DESTROY. Unless the killer wants to actively patrol it, you should always be able to destroy the totem.

It was removed from the game previously. Explain why this is acceptable with these new totem spots if they already made it clear that it's not. Still no one has bothered to say anything about this.

And it is the same because it makes an action impossible to do (at least not without purposely killing yourself).

I've seen plenty of new, well hidden spots on Badham that don't have this issue. The particular spots I am pointing out simply don't need to exist, or at the very least need a mesh that prevents traps from behind placed in the nook.

It's not impossible dude... you've been told so many viable options including a few from me.....

Theres no point in worrying about a totem that maybe worthless anyways......

Its not like these defensive killers towards their totems haven't existed......

Ya got rail gun/snipe doc w/thrill

    windstorm wraith

    Nurse exists

    Billy exists

And the ultimate totem protector queen since we're including addons......... mint rag rusty shackle hag W/thrill......

So it's not like other killers cant be overly defensive about their totems.... it's how you use that against them...

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626264#Comment_626264

The explain to me WHY the devs chose to change several totem spots where Trapper was able to do exactly this? Really explain it, and then justify why he is allowed to do it here.

You can't. They changed it because it made it impossible to do the totems without disarming the trap. Now he can do it TIMES THREE. If that's not reason enough to change it IDK what is.

Counter tactics aren't the issue. The issue is that THIS TOTEM IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DESTROY against a competent Trapper. Especially one with Iri Stone. It doesn't matter if you can counter it by some other means, the totem being impossible to destroy. Is. The. Problem.

In theory, back when you could face camp to block an unhook, the "counter" was to do gens. But that doesn't solve the initial problem of an unhook being IMPOSSIBLE. Same thing here. And again, it was something they fixed with certain totem spawns already, so why has it been brought back?

This is a lot different then old facecamping dude..... theres always the gen rush meta that counters all until the devs take the butcher hammer to it.... and even then it's not "impossible" especially with SWF.... theres a lot of different things to try... obviously the wind sprint tactic is the first, while hes forking around with you guys gens should be getting done, it eventually gets to the point of "whats more important?" for both sides, in which case if 2gens are getting completed at once.... time is on your side as the survivor..... and in that case... why in the honest hell would even care about breaking it when you can use it against him?

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626091#Comment_626091

No it's passive. He sets traps, walks away, doesn't need to come back until the absolute last moment. PASSIVE. Active would be him patrolling the area or coming to check on it immediately after disarming a trap, which as I've said is not necessary when he has Iri Stone.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626125#Comment_626125

Address what? You said "dead hard past the traps" you can't because the closest trap is right next to the totem. You can't be doing the totem without stepping in the trap, DH or not. It has to be disarmed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626151#Comment_626151

It's really not. You have to disarm 3 traps, so unless he hears 3 traps pop he doesn't need to do squat. He can chase as he pleases. Not to mention, disarming 3 traps and doing the totem takes enough time for him to finish a chase (or at least slug someone).

I really feel like none of you have actually experienced this. Every one of your solutions are not solutions. You can't do this totem against Trapper unless he just doesn't give a fork and let's you disarm 3 traps and do the totem. If he has Iri Stone he doesn't even need to pay attention to you because the trap DIRECTLY UNDER YOUR FEET will likely open before you finish it, and if you do manage to finish it one or two of the others will arm and then you are stuck. If the killer comes over that's a free hook, he just needs to stand and wait for the one under your feet to arm. Sabo is not an option unless you have a toolbox, and to sabo 3 traps takes a long time. It would be very easy for him to just peak over and see what's going on to stop that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626069#Comment_626069

It's one of the totems tucked deep into tall trees on Badham. It's similar to the one that's tucked behind some boxes on the corner of the water tower on Macmil maps. He can set 1 trap right in front of the totem, 1 in the middle, and 1 at the very edge. You MIGHT be able to step around the first one but it's really really tight so I doubt it. There is also tall grass all over that tile so he can easily set another trap around there to catch you running away.

All I'm asking is that Trapper should NOT be allowed to set traps in the nook. If he wants to set them around that tile fine, but not IN the nook. Again, this was something that was previously in the game and then was REMOVED for the exact same reasons this should be removed. Yet no one has bothered to even address this point. It's all "just do gens" "he's wasting time" yadda yadda yadda. That's not the point. The point is that these kinds of totems can't be done unless you are in a super coordinated 4 man or the killer just doesn't care (which is rarely if ever a thing).

You're speaking as if theres no solution and as if trapper is OP with totems which is not the case.... time to disarm 3 totems is maybe 15sec at the most, time to cleanse totem is like 16 seconds, they're tactics and such that you can use to overcome an actual challenge given by one of the mid tier killers.... I know that you know that trapper isnt that strong even after the buff...

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626012#Comment_626012

Using 2-3 traps to make it impossible to take out a totem is not really much of a waste.

And no he couldn't do this before. Well he could, but then they changed the objects around those totems so he couldn't, and for the exact reason that it was unfair. So why do these new totems spots ignore that?

This isnt impossible to get done.... only if the trappers goal is to not let the totem go, in which case he'll depip because he'll be to busy doing wind sprints across the map and stuck in 1 area protecting the totem..... 1 person pops a trap or 2 and runs across the map leading the trapper away the other goes for the last few traps and starts breaking the totem, trapper comes back chases other away and the first survivor goes for the totem or whatever.... this is more of a punishment to the trapper if anything dude

  • @GrootDude said:

He is wasting three traps to defend one totem, something that was already possible. He now has less traps available and assuming you and your team are able to hit greats then you should be fine.

This /\..... it's been possible for trapper to do this before the hiding spot....

  • @Atrushan88 said:

@Bravo0413 K, so imagine GhostFace, Pig, Wraith, Spirit(assuming all 4 have this status effect) are the killer. Now OoO is a detriment to your entire team with no upside. because they know where you are, but you don't know where they are.

If it works against Spine Chill, now survivors will no longer be able to know Ghost Face is looking and if a GhostFace is hiding, it's a guaranteed chase cut in half. It doesn't take long to stalk while leaning. It's actually detrimental to even try breaking him out when he is leaning. This would make him so much stronger, again, if it works against Spine Chill, which it may not as it isn't "aura reading". Either way, there are several killers whose red stain is hidden, and are undetectable outside of aura reading or seeing them with your own eyes, and GhostFace for one is hard to spot quite often. Why would I run an aura reading perk when at LEAST 3(probably 4 since Spirit would probably have this exact status effect while phase walking as well) above decent killers have this potential to render your perks useless? If for example, I had DS/Adrenaline/Balanced Landing and Alert or something, I would potentially have a useless perk. Might as well go ahead and run Iron Will or Borrowed Time. Most aura reading for survivors are ######### The only good ones I can think of are Alert and OoO. With OoO having the potential to basically be detrimental to your survival, Alert would be the only good one and why bring a perk with potential uselessness over something more powerful? This is just weakening already bad perks.

Now I don't think spine chill should be under this, if it is I'm going to be sad.... but the aura reading perks against the stealth killers....... I feel this should at least be tested...

"because Myers was never shirtless in the movies..."

    He also never...

    • Put anyone on a hook
    • Kick a generator
    • Destroy pallets
    • Equip perks before killing people
    • Equip Add-ons before killing people
    • Killed multiple Laurie Strode's
    • Travel to any the locations in the game besides Haddonfield

yet going Shirtless is crossing the line. ok, buddy. #ShirtlessMyersForDBD

I mean on the stuff you pointed out is gameplay needed for him to be functional in this game what's your point? The other is a cosmetic that is prettymuch making him a barbie doll and that imo is not okay to do to arguably the horror icon king...

  • If shirtless myers ever happens I'm done with the game simply because Myers was never shirtless in the movies... hes a horror icon and making him something else that's not him in this game would be trashing him..... I'd lose too much respect towards BHVR to continue playing......

thank god peanits stated that they wont do anything to a character that doesnt fit them meaning theres more chance that the trash cosmetic doesnt happen to Myers...

  • Billy..... I love Rin but Billy is stronger.... if you come across a survivor on an unsafe gen there is no chase to be had, even in situations where the survivor is at a loop if you make the right read you get a 1 shot and the chase is over.... and as op pointed out Billy has no cooldown and is punished less for using the chainsaw...where if you make the wrong read as Rin you could shoot yourself in the opposite direction of the survivor and be on cooldown.... rin has less map mobility, where she is the princess of are loops, she owns the survivors at loops because mind games and such.... Everywhere else shes B tier...

  • I love what's coming so far.... it is my bday month soo... thank you devs ya didn't have too! :) lol

You're wrong, though. It's precisely because the data was gathered in such a way that both the 60% and 80% are unreliable. You'd need a weighted average, which would tell you the (average) survival rate at ranks 1 and 2. That number is between 60% and 80%.

I'm not talking overall rank1 that number is ofcourse going to be a bit lower then 81 and I agree with you on that certain percentage give.... I'm saying that the 81% that the charts give are the best of the best players.... that is a stat that exists and peanits confirmed it in a reply..... the stats only kept track of those who maintained their rank 1 status and back then it was exceptionally difficult making those players the cream of the crop....and since it's such a small portion of players, it has to be the most accurate stat bhvr has put out.... even though they meant to calculate everyone...

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621631#Comment_621631

The number was not accurate. There was an error when retrieving those stats. It took your rank after the game, not before. At rank 1, depipping means deranking, so anyone who died would have almost definitely deranked (unless they did insanely well), making their death count as a rank 2 death. That leaves only the people who lived or did very, very well in the rank 1 section of the stats.

    It was actually 43%.

And those players who maintained rank 1 and did very well are the players I am speaking about.... you guys found the stats for the cream crop prettymuch even though "you did the stats wrong"

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621601#Comment_621601

Other way around. Those who survived were more easily able to maintain rank 1. Pipping without surviving at high ranks is nigh-impossible, and since the stats were taken at the end of trials, the survival rate was naturally skewed toward a very high number.

Surviving was still a big importance towards pipping back then..... I'm not going to disagree with you... these percentages are only rough... ROUGH estimates.... but I think that 81% is the most accurate since it was a smaller portion of players..

  • The number is sitting right on the graph... that's the number I'm talking about.... the players who maintained rank 1 when bhvr "calculated the stats wrong" survived 81% of the time roughly..... like that stat still exists bhvr didn't just say "oh rank 1 has this percentage" .... like that 81% is the best players

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621469#Comment_621469

The data for rank one is completely incorrect, it is NOWHERE near 81%, see Peanits comment just before yours, and see here.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/456908/#Comment_456908

something... something... 2K/3Ks are the norm and escape is also the norm, go figure.

Those who maintained rank 1 when they first did the stats survived 81% of the time... I dont think bhvr would have gotten that number out of thin air...

  • @altruistic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621052#Comment_621052

You are correct. Here is that portion of the post :

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/119/02QZKP2XKNNY.jpeg

    Survival Rate by Rank

This graph shows the average rate of survival per Survivor at any given rank, per platform. Please note: The data collected is using your rank afterthe match, so players who depipped from rank 1 down to rank 2 would appear as rank 2 for our purposes. This is likely the reason why you'll notice a large gap between the survival rate of rank 1 and rank 2: Players who survived were more likely to pip and maintain their rank, while those who died were more likely to depip and lose their rank.

This data was also collected between April 1st and April 7th, after the pipping thresholds were originally changed but before they were later tweaked to be more forgiving for Survivors. Because of that, the statistics at this rank are from a small sample size consisting solely of the best players that could maintain rank 1 with the strict pipping conditions.

With this said /\ the cream of the crop survives 81% of the time....... man the game gets easy AF

1 … 22 23 24 25 26 … 63
