You’re correct. If you’re someone who brings toolboxes, maps or flashlights this is a huge nerf for solo Q because now your ability to heal is 100% dependent on randos in solo Q unless you bring your own medkit, WITH enough ads ons to get you the two full heals. Unless you wanna waste a peek spot on self care that takes as long to heal you as it does to complete a full gen.
so now all the killers who use tunneling as the META (because this isn’t going to slow down tunneling or camping. Let’s be honest) are guaranteed a 4K every match
-
@Laluzi said:
Yeaaaaah, that was not well thought out. For something as major and ubiquitous as healing, a slower, tweak-this-and-then-that approach would have been healthier than slapping this all up at once.
Plus, nerfing base healing speed to me just seems like a terrible idea. The issue was the stacked buffs and how nuts they could get, not the core mechanic. And CoH is basically pointless now. Was it a strictly healthy perk, no, but making something unusable is not the answer.
Exactly

They really think people will still play survivor after these changes lmao. Killrate will rise to 80%+ and good killers will reach a killrate of nearly 100%.
There’s nothing fun in this game left for survivors to enjoy and I will be uninstalling when the update hits too. Most people won’t put up with being a punching bag for a killer that finally gets to experience their power trip fantasy
This has been my point for months now. Just remove the survivor role and make them all A.I. let the killers use the AI as their anger management punching bags and survivor mains can find a new game to play.

@Blueberry said:
I’m down for making tunneling less effective if we make it less necessary and slow the game down.
That said, I vehemently disagree with the notion that the main reason killers tunnel is because it’s the easiest route to winning. Do many do this? Of course. But I do not think that it is even remotely the majority. The majority that tunnel do so because they feel it’s necessary and would do it way less if the game was better balanced.
So while I am in favor of making tunneling more difficult I do hypothetically in this scenario think that if you had solely added more objectives for survivors you would indeed see a massive decrease in tunneling even though some would still do it.
This is the crux of the controversial topic though. Some people think the majority of tunneling is because it’s easy and some think the majority is because of how unbalanced the game is making it necessary in many games.
You’ve likely never seen all the killer posts on here that fully admit that tunneling is the easiest way to win because it makes the game a 3v1 immediately.

You realize that CoH now takes only a little bit faster than old self care took right? And people memed at self care users because it was bad. But CoH probably takes even longer because you have to set it up and the killer can remove it?
The main use of CoH is the fact that you can heal each other fast, and it gives you a known location (even in solo queue) to meet up to heal each other.
I’ve never had issues with setting up a boon or having killer remove it. That’s negligible compared to the nerf it just took. And again, this just wedges a gap between solo and swf again after they just started to close that gap.
So now you go to a boon and stand there and wait for a teammate to get off a gen and come heal you? Or wait for them to stop hiding in a locker and urban evasioning around the entire edge of the map to come help? That’s assuming the killer hasn’t found you by then.
-
Also why not just remove the circle of healing perk altogether now? There’s no point in even using it because you now need a medkit to use which would heal you without the perk anyway or another survivor to heal you who can again, heal you without the perk. It’s worthless at this point. Just delete the perk if that’s what you wanted to do.
-
@gatsby said:
There’s a difference between nerfing a perk and deleting it.
People use Circle of Healing for self healing. It doesn’t do that anymore so everyone will immediately drop it.
People use Pain Resonance for consistent slowdown all match. Now that it can only be used four times people will immediately drop it.
People use Dead Hard to compliment a more aggressive chase-oriented playstyle. Now it forces an altruistic playstyle and won’t even get value if you’re consistently being chased people will immediately drop it.
People use Call of Brine because its the perk that has a fastest regression speed. Now that its regression speed is much less noticeable and its outclassed by another perk at max value people will take it out their builds ASAP.
This patch is pretty extreme and seems like they want to force a full meta shift instead of trying to open up different varieties of playstyle. Nerf the strong perks and buff the competition for variety don’t nuke the strong perks and force people to find another stale meta of the scraps leftover.
All of this.
-
You can thank tunneling for this.
If we couldn’t get hit immediately off hook, we wouldn’t have been downed after getting farmed off hook, or the killer coming back to hook to tunnel, leading BHVR to make basekit BT. Now that it is, people have found a way to use it to help their fellow survivors.
-
I get a lot of crap in the blood web. Mostly add ons but no actual items and yeah medkits are rare. However I do usually see brown ones but hardly every any green, or yellow and purple.. forget it.

Of all the stuff thats wrong with this game and needs to be fixed, asking for something as silly as this is a waste of time. Go break pallets or just stay away from the gates until they leave.

There’s no way to regulate third party comms on discord. I play on PC but I don’t have the discord app booted up on my laptop. Guess where I use it? My phone. Lol! I have headphones on for my laptop while playing DBD and I use my phone to get in a discord call with my apple AirPods in one ear. There’s no way to regulate third party voice chat with people like me who use their phones for discord.

As if killers aren’t on here every day asking for every single survivor item and strong perk to be nerfed into oblivion so they can 4K every single match for life 🤣🤣

That's certainly unusual. It's possible, but unlikely, that some of the game files were corrupted before updating or when the update was interrupted. If that happens, Steam will detect any files that don't look right and redownload them to fix it.

Will do, thank you.

Because not every survivor in a match runs unbreakable and sometimes not even one survivor runs it. Also unbreakable is a single use perk. Don’t be intentionally obtuse.

A killer using a strategy you don't like to win doesn't prevent you from playing the game. People need to stop expecting very specific gameplay from the killer to consider the survivor as "playing the game".
Yes it does. When you’re the one getting tunneled out at 5 gens or face camped to death at 5 gens you don’t get to play the game.
-
Killers basically want everything for survivors nerfed. DH, gen speeds, toolboxes, medkits, COH. anything that gives survivors a chance to escape needs to go. Once killers can 4K 100% of their matches then they’ll be happy.

When you exaggerate to make a point, your point will not be taken seriously. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

Yeah all my matches the killer tunnels out the diets person they find now. It’s just boring and lazy. And they blame BHVR because “we have no choice but to play like this” but they do. They just want an easy 3/4K each match.
My friends and I are now looking for a new game to play because this one is just pathetic. It’s toxic as hell and the toxicity is allowed and encouraged so it’s not gonna change.

All my games today have been nothing but trying to avoid 3 gen lockdowns, dealing with sloppy hit n runs. hitting overcharge skillcheck over and over again.
There is no killer vs surv interaction anymore. Deja vu is straight up on my main build and I seriously consider to bring toolbox and brand new parts every single game I play now.
Nerf prove thyself and remove Resilience gen buff if you have to. I just wanna get chased for more then 10 seconds before the killer decided to avoid me rest of the game unless they find me in a deadzone trying to deal with their 3 gen
so your solution is to buff a bunch of killer perks and nerf survivor gen perks? That’s a horrible idea. Lol

I’ve been getting the groaning storehouse Macmillan map repeatedly the last two days. I got it 3 matches in a row today with no map offering. Not surprised the repeat prevention isn’t working. Every time a new chapter releases it breaks a bunch of other stuff and is full of bugs.

Saying killers aren’t entitled to 4K doesn’t mean they aren’t entitled to “try” to 4K, just as survivors are entitled to escape by any means.
But the attitude you have of “oh if I don’t like what the killer is doing, I’m going to DC!”… That is the textbook definition of entitlement.
Call it what you want, if a killer is gonna BM me on hook or tunnel me out at 5 gens because they “must” 4K thereby removing my ability to actually play the match, yes I will DC. Entitlement is thinking that others have to stay in the game with you while you play however you want. Even when it ruins their ability to actually play the game. Survivors are not meant to be fodder for the killer to do whatever they want.

What if in the lobby there's 3 or 4 toolboxes? I have to assume that evrone of those has a BnP so I'm going to go hard right away or 4 medkits or miss boon. There's things as a killer you see and have to assume the worst because if you don't and they have the things you won't know untell it's to late.
As a killer you have a lot you have to procces like where all 4 survivors are,the progress of each gen, what items they brought,16 different perks, which pallets are gone or still up. Most the time it's in the killers best interests to assume the worst and figure it out later.
That’s not an excuse to play toxic. And by toxic I mean BMing on hook or immediately slugging all 4 people out. There’s no reason for that unless you’re being a jerk. Again, killers are not entitled to 4K every match the same way survivors are not entitled to escape every match. This isn’t supposed to be an esports game.

I just want people to not play like a dick. If you're intentionally playing the game to be a nuisance to everyone else and make sure they're not having a good time, then I think being upset at how you played is justified. Most people understand that unfun strategies are some times necessary but in the majority of games, 80% of the time these strats don't need to be in play
Exactly. People who tunnel someone out immediately, face camp and BM on hook or slug everyone immediately are just being dicks. There’s no reason to play like that every match. Then these same players complain about people DCing against them every match.

I'd be okay with the Z plane thing as long as boons follow the same rule, since they probably go off the same line of code
As a survivor main, I think this would be more than fair.
-
I just want killers to realize you don’t need, nor are you entitled, to 4K every match. This belief that you do is why so many survivors hate playing against certain killer styles. As someone said above, I just want a well rounded match with a good amount of BP to make it worth my time. I don’t NEED to escape to have fun in a match. I just don’t want to be tunneled out or face camped to death in 2 minutes because killers decided that they need to make the game a 3v1 immediately because they “have” to 4K. I’m also not gonna play a 45 minute match because of immediate 3 genning and refusing to chase, but instead just camping the 4 gen.
-

Let me provide my feedback in the same thread.
A perk that is used in every match (almost) up to 4 times... for 6 years is a red flag. Alright?
We are surely dealing and baiting it out... but it's *everytime*
Where are the numbers to back up this claim?

Yup. Nightfall is way way too dark. That needs to be fixed, otherwise I don’t have a problem with dredge. I think he’s a legit scary killer and can be fun/scary to verse especially when you’re going against a skilled player.
-
I assume you’re talking about bringing franklins?
In which case yes a SWF will usually call out that a killer has franklins but I have played solo matches where the other players got hit before me, and then I will set my item down somewhere to keep it from being taken and losing its charges. How? I kept running across random items on the ground and I figured it out.
However I don’t think the number of items in a lobby has any correlation with being in a swf.
-
Why should survs always be hindered every time they get hit?
-
I totally get wanting to save your medkits. That’s understandable. I personally am just not going to stop doing a gen to heal someone who has a medkit if we’re still at 5 gens or if there’s a ton of pressure from the killer. The gens are the objective so if a surv has another way to heal, use it is my opinion. I also don’t want 1-2 survivors chasing me down to try and heal me when we need hands on gens and I have a medkit.
I bring my item to use it. If I don’t make it out of the match that item is gone, so if I don’t use it I lose a full item. I’m a loot goblin tho so…

A lot of people want those BP. Just because you or others might be swimming in points and don’t care doesn’t mean others don’t. The game has set up pips and those BP as a reward system and if that’s gonna be in the game, people want the system to be fair to them. That’s not too much to ask for.

Yeah if I have a medkit, I’d always rather other peoples hands be on gens. Same when someone brings Boon: CoH. We have a boon totem right there for you to use to heal up but you want me to stop doing this gen to heal you? I don’t get it.

Fine, enjoy getting 6k points and getting hard tunneled out immediately. Remove collision from unhooked survivors since you guys don't seem to learn your lesson and keep doing it

How can you get good when this perk is based on latency? Lmao don't talk.
You most definitely will defend the hackers who use it to auto dh.
Latency majorly benefits the killer with dead hard, not the survivor. The latency makes timing the perk to use it at just the right second very difficult. You sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

And everyone still uses it, what a huge nerf
Whether everyone still uses it or not has nothing to do with how much it was nerfed. As I said, survivors basically learned to adapt and use it in its newer form. That doesn’t change the fact that there was a huge nerf to it. Just because they didn’t decide to give up on the perk entirely just because it was nerfed, doesn’t negate its nerf. 🤣🤣🤣
-
It’s amazing to me that people complained about DH because “you can get outplayed the entire match and then all you have to do is press one button and you’re fine again.” So they took away the distance boost and made DH skill based. Some survivors learned to master that skill to still use it effectively and killers are mad again and want it nerfed more all bwcause survivors learned to adapt and “git gud” using DH.
why can’t killers learn to adapt and “git gud” when countering it?

I don’t understand why Dead Hard has only recently been considered a hot topic.
Does hot topic require for people to flood these forums with post after post about dead hard? Because dead hard has been the most complained about killer perk for a while on these forums, it just hasn’t had a flood of posts until recently.
The recent flood of posts about it happened after the eruption nerf was announced. Because an OP killer perk was getting nerfed, it was an opportunity to go after the most used survivor perk to try and get that removed.

Dead Hard is a more 'recent' complaint because it became apparent that the devs were going to nerf Eruption. (Seen a couple dead hard vs Eruption posts recently?)
Any time anything changes for either killers or survivors, there's an outcry to make an equivalent change to the other. I'm not sure if it's a 'to keep things fair' reaction, or if it's just that people don't like any balance changes whatever. But the reasoning isn't as important as that it's an obvious community reaction to change.
Dead Hard was nerfed in July, and for a couple months the general sentiment online was anything from 'good riddance' to 'git gud, adapt'. (We'll come back that one).
And just like it took several months for Eruption to become meta, it took a while for people to realize that dead hard could still be useful.
So now it's December ish, 5 months after the big 6.1.0 balance patch, Knight just released with Nowhere to Hide to cap off the gen kick meta quartet, and people started really harping on Eruption being overtuned and incapacitation being oppressive.
Also in December, survivors have had enough time to fully adapt to the new perks from 6.1, and dead hard is back on the menu for a lot of people. Once it became obvious Eruption is being targeted, and the devs confirmed a change was likely, it very quickly turned to playing the 'dead hard is op' card.
Whether dead hard needs another pass is a different discussion, but the community has the impression that complaining gets things nerfed. And if someone is under the impression that loudly complaining is the only reason Eruption got nerfed, then by all means it's time to complain as loudly as possible so devs address your frustrations too.
So that's why the discussion is 'recent'.
All of this is exactly what I’ve witnessed. Anytime a widely loved perk from one side gets nerfed, the other side suddenly wants a nerf of a perk that they don’t like going against. It’s like children who see one kid get an ice cream cone so they need an ice cream cone. Doesn’t matter if the change was made to make the game more fair, or balance out an issue, one side got something so now the other side needs something.
Dead hard took a huge hit last summer and as was mentioned the killer refrain was “oh well adapt!” Survivors basically did just that, adapted to the new perk and still found a way to make it useful so now killers want it nerfed again because it still prevents them from easy wins when used in the right hands. Which brings me to my next point:
Dead hard takes actual skill to use. One of my friends I play with runs dead hard religiously and out of 10 matches, they only get any value out of DH in maybe 1 match because you literally have to be able to time it just right. And even IF you time it just right, if the killer has major lag on their end, any latency issues, uses a VPN whatever… it affects their ability to time the perk and it’s useless.
Unless every survivor who runs DH is totally cracked with it, it’s not getting the same value across all players, like some are making it out to be. Every survivor can’t just equip dead hard and get an extra hit out of it just like that. I don’t even run it for that reason because I don’t have the patience to try and learn how to time it perfectly down to a half second.

Some people are just annoying trolls. I ended up in a match with a 3 man swf where while I was trying to do gens, they all body blocked me into a corner with the gen and just kept doing the “smack your butt” motion at me. They refused to stop even when the killer was approaching and I was trying to run. They body blocked me into the corner long enough for the killer to run up and then they left and I got the down. Later on I was down and left slugged and when I crawled to them for help, they just teabagged on me and wouldn’t pick me up.
Luckily the killer saw this and decided to hook them and they died.
This doesn’t happen often at all but when it does it is definitely frustrating.
