I’ll be happy when it’s over because it’s nothing but Uber tunneling and camping killers every single match. All 5 people bring the BP offering just for the survivors to leave with 5-10K while the killers leave with 40-50K base points. My last three matches were 5K, 8K and 10K because of tunneling and camping.
Add to that the fact that they made this event way easier for killer than survivor. All killers had to do to get cosmetics was collect an invite. Survivors had to collect it and then survive until exit gates were powered which is exceedingly difficult when you’re only getting tunneling and camping killers.
Then the discrepancy in how much easier it is for killers to get extra anniversary points (hooks, which they can get up to 12) vs completed gens, (there’s only 5 between 4 survivors)
This whole event was just poorly planned, unbalanced and has been made miserable by people who only seem to be out to ruin it for others.
Also the pallet spawn ability is worthless because is shatters the pallet as soon as you drop it so you can’t use the pallet to block a killer, only to stun them which rarely works if ever. No point in using the event abilities at all honestly.

Events have always brought the worst out in people. That said the blame is mostly on BHVR for not being able to actually do anything about all the unfun things that have been in the game for years
the blame is on BHVR for not actually doing anything about it. They absolutely are able to do something about it they just won’t. Whether out of laziness or whether they just don’t care, who knows? Or maybe this is the way they want their game to be a toxic, miserable dumpster fire, and therefore they don’t care. As long as people continue to be masochists who keep coming back no matter how terrible it is, they’re getting their money so they have no incentive to give a ######### .

As a survivor I find it fun to:
- Not be tunneled out of matches
- Not be camped to death on hook
- not be BMed and abused on hook
- Not having constant server side crashes and horrible game lag
- Not going down to impossible “hits” because of killer side lag that benefits the killer
I like the chase with the killer, I like fun killer engagements where, they’re trying to win the game but they still take a moment to be silly with us if we’re joking around and return the energy. I like going against a strong killer who also plays fair and doesn’t depend on in-game exploits and broken game mechanics to destroy the entire team and end the game in 3 minutes.
It would be fun to have an objective other than “do gens” in every single match.
As killer I like the challenge of trying to kill all four survivors fairly. I like the chase. I like learning how to be a better survivor by seeing what the survivors do in chase when they’re totally destroying me. I like to meme around, be silly but also try to win.

Have you tried what I said? It’s working for me.
Okay I figured it out. It has to do with distance from a pallet spawn or vault points. The auras are showing up for me when I’m close to them but it won’t activate the ability unless I’m a certain distance away. I figured it out when I just started pressing the button before I saw the prompt to press it and it worked. When it gets to the point that it shows me the prompt when I’m close, that’s when it doesn’t work. Lmao
annoying but I got it at least. Thanks for your help

Keyboard or controller? If controller pressing in the control stick does it, not the action button. Well does for me.
Controller. I even changed the key binding on the event activate ability button to something easier for me to hit and it won’t work.
I see the blue aura of the area, and when I’m being chased and run towards it, it tells me to hit the button and when I do nothing happens. And of course I can’t stand there and keep trying it to get it to work cuz I’m in chase so I just go down.
This challenge is pissing me off and I can’t continue in the tome on the survivor side until I complete it.
-
Yeah I switched to killer today to finish getting masks since I kept getting tunneled and camped out at 4-5 gens all day yesterday.
When I switched to killer I brought tiramisu and tried to farm cuz I wanted us ll to rack up some BP and let them get their masks. Each time, they all ran from me scared so I just got my invitation and waited for match to end to get my masks .
On survivor side, I stopped bringing the BP offerings because I was tired of getting tunneled out with 5-8K BP while the killer was racking up 40K and walking out of each match with 100-200K BP.
I really wish the devs would stop making these events a cakewalk for killer to get the cosmetics (all they have to do is grab an invitation) while making them so difficult for survivors (having to survive until gates are powered) when they know tunneling and camping is the easiest and favorite tactic used by killers in their game.
Killer is the power role. They have the ability to deny survivors the cosmetics but survivors can’t deny them the cosmetics ever. That’s super unbalanced. Wh

People were literally complaining about the new killer needing buffs because they weren’t able to get 4Ks immediately when it had only been released for 2 hours and now this. Do y’all actually take the time to LEARN how to play new killers and counter perks, or do you just think you should able to instantly cakewalk to 4K and if you can’t, then everything needs to be nerfed?
-
Add me to the list
-
Some other folks reporting this and FPS issues which I also began having yesterday.
-
And now I’ve got windows defender popping up telling me that Easy Anti-Cheat is an untrusted system on my computer. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
-
Complaining about windows is just another step in trying to get any useful perks nerfed into the ground. First it was DH, and DS, then medkits and COH, now it’s windows, toolboxes and sprint burst, because survivors have switched to running constant gen builds because of the healing nerf.
Every time a perk gets nerfed to the point of uselessness and people start running other perks, then that new perk that becomes a favorite get complained about. This is boilerplate.
-
Survivors are “gen rushing” because ever since the healing and medkit and COH nerfs that’s all they can do to possibly escape the match (especially in solo Q) since killers have increased the tunneling and camping since those nerfs.
BHVR was really stupid to think that killers would actually try a different tactic besides tunneling and camping just because they nerfed healing, medkits and COH. All they did was gave them more of a reason to do it because they made it even easier to tunnel and camp people out. It’s all about the “most efficient and fastest” tactic to win right? So why would people give that up?
If a hunter is trying to shoot a healthy rabbit and you hobble all the rabbits and slow them down, why would the hunter then say “Oh the rabbit has been hobbled so now I’ll chase it down with a knife to give myself a bigger challenge.”? They wouldn’t. They’re just gonna keep shooting the rabbits because it’s been made even easier.

Just happened again. Still no one’s gonna address this?
-
This is really one of those situations where some of y’all just gotta grow a thicker skin or find something. Else to do. If you know you’ve lost and all 4 survivors are at the gates and going to escape, go find something else to do. Break walls and pallets that are left over for extra BP. Just run around the map or go AFK and get a drink and wait for them to leave.
There are so many more seriously broken parts of this game that need attention rather than punishing survivors for standing at exit gates because killers don’t like it.
I don’t wait at gates myself cuz I think it’s dumb but still, this is such a non-issue.
I’ll offer you a tip tho. Play tombstone Myers. Can’t tell you how many endgame moris I’ve gotten from people standing at the edge of exit gate waiting for me to hit them out instead of just leaving. Use it to your advantage.
-
Y’all literally just got nerfs to medkits and COH now you want the syringe and BNP gone? You realize BNP only gives 15% now and that’s if you hit both hard skillchecks? Syringe takes time to kick in and if you get hit while it’s processing you lose it.
They do not need to be gone. Y’all just want every survivor item and add on gone at this point. 🤣🤣🤣
-
I don’t find legion hard to go against. Just obnoxious, tedious and not fun. That’s why I hate getting matches with them. Just running around putting everyone in constant mend but not downing or hooking anyone are the most annoying ones.

@Rokku_Rorru said:
Honestly the pip system is more accurate than the current escapes/kills system
Yeah but the problem with the pip system is it penalized you for other peoples actions like killer and survivor DCs, killer AFKs and survivors hook suiciding and leaving you when you’re 2-3 minutes into a match to escape and impossible game.
I realize that they can’t do anything about hook suicides but the pop system should at least be changed where you get an auto safety pip for any DCs. That would help a lot.

I just say some people said when dead hard wouldn't be so popular people would tunnel less and i was like:
Exactly. I’ve said this before. Nerfing DH, nerfing COH, nerfing medkits…none of that was ever going to incentivize killers to use different play tactics. All it did was weaken the survivor role and make it easier to camp and tunnel people out of the game which many people wanted to begin with. It’s not about the challenge or trying different ways to play. It’s about people getting the easiest and fastest wins with the least amount of resistance. All those nerfs did was weaken resistance for them to continue to camp and tunnel which they were always going to do no matter what BHVR did. The o my things that going to get people to try other playstyles is by getting rid of and/or severely punishing the camp and tunnel playstyles. Until then it’ll just be more of the same
-
because BHVR has tried in the past to incentivize killers to try other tactics besides tunnel, camp and slug. The problem is, trying to incentivize someone against those doesn’t work because they’re the easiest, lowest skill required and efficient tactics available to killers. Also they don’t require a killer to run any special perks or add-ons to work. Why would someone bring use a perk slot to incentivize them to not go for the easiest and fastest kill?
Yes there are lots of killers who play this game for the fun and the actual challenge it offers, but there are also people who don’t want any challenge in their gameplay. They just want easy wins, stats, BP etc. No matter how much you try to incentivize them away from those tactics, there’s a portion of killer players who won’t bother with that because “Yeah but this is fast and efficient and I get 3/4K easier this way.”
People who tunnel camp and slug are always gonna tunnel camp and slug no matter what other tactics you give them. That’s just the reality of this game. Therefore all they can do aside from outright banning those styles of gameplay (which they said they won’t do) is offer survivors better tools to combat them, and not have the match ruined for them instantly when they’re being tunneled and camped at 5 gens. I appreciate that BHVR is trying with this anti-camping idea. I’m not sure how well it’s going to work because there always seems to be an exploit or workaround found in this game but if it does work, I’d hope they would do something similar to seriously help with tunneling next.

Nope, not in solo Q. If I play SWF one of us will still run COH and we help each other but in solo Q, no one brings that perk anymore or helps with healing. Now, as soon as any killer injures a survivor, they all become insta-down killers the rest of the match because no one can heal or get healed. That’s why I stopped playing solo matches after this patch. Not worth the aggravation.
-
Yes this IS a team-based game and everyone should play as a team and be happy their team won yada yada.
But the fact is, you cannot expect everyone to take pleasure in a “win” when they aren’t part of that win and they have zero to show for it. Taking the time to queue up, wait through the load out, get into a match and get tunneled out or camped to death on hook the entire game. Their team got out with 10-15K BP and what did they get? To hang on hook and then go home with 3K BP on top of a depip.
It’s hard to ask people to be “happy” with that kind of outcome just because the “team” won, when let’s be honest.. the majority of solo players don’t play as a team. They’re supposed to, but they don’t. Why? Because they’re all trying to do the same thing which is stay in the match as long as possible so either they escape or if they don’t, they still rack up enough BP to make dying worth their time because they get tunneled or camped out of the game.
The entire mechanic of this game is broken so expecting people to just “take joy” in having their time wasted with zero reward for themselves is highly unreasonable. Maybe some of you are fine with this and that’s cool but for many others it not, and that doesn’t make them selfish or unreasonable for feeling this way.

Is tunneling and camping really this huge of an issue? Hooks states are 60 secs it takes 90, Say a killer gets his first down and instead of surv immediately going to the hook and just stay on gens ideally 3 separate gens by the time the camped hits stage 2 your team has 2/3 progress on multiple gens so even trading hooks isn't that bad. Now after the trade you finish said 3 gens before the next person hits stage 2, that leaves 2 gens left with the killer having 2 hooks maybe 3 at the most. Now factor in good looping and smart tactics on the first person chased if they can run for 30 to 60 secs then there's no problem at all. Camping and tunneling are a problem sometimes but most times it's not beneficial at 5 gens. Unless 3 out of the 4 can't loop. All this patch is going to do is make good survivors God tier and the causals that are meh better, instead of looking at tunneling as a problem use it for looping practice. As a killer if i find a God tier looper I'm throwing the game just to get the much needed experience.
I’m not surprised you’re a killer because your post is full of assumptions about solo Q teammates that rarely if ever turn out to be the case in these situations. In a SWF, we can coordinate everything you just said. In solo we cannot. We cannot communicate to certain teammates to leave the first person on hook and stay on gens until second state. We can not communicate to each other who the best looper is and who should take chase. We cannot communicate anything. Also your assertion that IF the first person unhooked is a good looper is a huge IF and there’s no way of knowing if that’s the case. Your ideal scenario you posted is all dependent on either swf with coms or just getting lucky enough to be matched with teammates who understand all of that without it being communicated to them and that is extremely rare to find in solo Q.

The issue with the recent patch is the change to healing mechanics. Killers have not been forced to change their tactics, and instead are still relying on tunneling and camping. However, now there isn't enough time to heal and regroup to go for the save, so the options are either letting the survivor die on hook or going for the save injured, leading to a cycle of hook trading and no progress on generators. This has resulted in most of my solo queue matches lasting five minutes or less.
Having said that tho you are correct about the first part of your post. As long as the devs allow tunneling and camping to continue unpunished, it doesn’t matter what nerfs they make to killer. They will ALWAYS have that one effective, easy strategy to fall back on, while survivors don’t have that one built in strategy to fall back on when they get nerfs.

Because now that the gen kick meta is done killers are pissed and retaliating by falling back on their old trusty tactics of tunneling and camping.
Funny, when killers said this would happen, survivors always snarked back "You were going to tunnel and camp anyway so nothing will change."
Changes to healing needed to be made for sure
And they were made, and they were good changes. There is literally no way to nerf healing with some magic trick that stops SWFs but somehow doesn't affect SoloQ. It is impossible to touch survivors in a way that doesn't affect SoloQ.
Anyway, my survivor games have been the same as usual. Win some, lose some. Have fun with your SWF though.
And nothing did change except tunneling and camping have increased. Except now, it’s way harder to save teammate being tunneled and camped without simply trading hooked the entire game until we are all dead because we can’t heal efficiently anymore.
Make no mistake. Killers we’re always going to tunnel and camp because it’s lazy and effective and takes zero skill. But at least we could effectively counter it and mostly save each other from having our matches completely ruined by that tactic. Now we can’t and there’s only an increase in tunneling and camping because killers are “punishing” survivors for their gen perks being nerfed. We all saw this coming and said exactly this would happen. I’m simply confirming it now and saying that I recommend people play SWF to at least have a chance of having a fun match, even if they do die. Have fun tho!
-
@Pulsar said:
Not to take away from your point, but when has Solo Q ever been the preferred and recommended role?
Oh never! Lol but BHVR made a big deal about trying to bridge the gap between solo and swf which was the main reason for the new HUD. So it’s funny to me that we’re supposed to be closing the gap between solo and SWF and all this update did was push it further apart again. And now to the point that you have to be a masochist to even try playing solo anymore.

Okay make that three matches in a row now. Every match I load into is showing killer ping in red and doing this. I even restarted steam and other back in and my ping is only 50 so it’s not on my end

You guys have no problem with tunneling and camping being legit strategies but want to take away survivors ability to use their BT hit as a strategy? 🤣🤣🤣 Y’all telling on yourselves big time. Just say you don’t ever want all survivors to be able to escape.
If you can camp a hook at endgame to ensure you get that kill, why can’t unhooked survivors take protection hits for each other during endgame to make sure they all escape?
-
Except once again, your strategy won’t work. 🤣🤣🤣 Hitting someone directly off hook isn’t going to activate their DH, it’s going activate basekit BT. All the unhook does is activate the survivors ABILITY TO USE DH just like it does with someone who runs deliverance and unhooks a survivor. Guess what? I still have to be hooked to actively use my deliverance that got activated. DH is still a perk that the survivor has to press their active ability button to use when THEY WANT TO USE IT.
So hitting right off hook is just activating their basekit BT like it already does. Yes you’ll put them into mend state, but if you’re going against any team with competency, (which has always been the major issue with DH) the team is gonna help block you so they can run off and mend and therefore still use their DH.
Tunneling off hook isn’t going to rob someone of their ability to use DH, but since I get the feeling you were already someone who tunnels off hook anyway, please continue. 🤣🤣🤣

No way you just did that - it's actually appalling. Speechless.
Guess the people who scream the loudest always get their way.
I'm camping/tunnelling from the first hook. I was maybe considering otherwise, but after seeing that they don't even have the balls to keep healing nerfs while at same time keep gutting anti-gen perks... hard to feel any remorse.
You were always gonna camp and tunnel from first hook if you haven’t been already. This is just an excuse. 🤣 And if you honestly can’t see how broken and horrible nerfing bad healing was then you can’t be trusted to give an unbiased opinion.
-
The idea that any player is “forced” to camp or tunnel is laughable. Anyone who plays like that was always going to play like that and no amount of perk changes, buffs or nerfs is going to change that. It doesn’t matter how many ways BHVR tries to give them different options for play styles, the common refrain I hear from killers is that tunneling and camping is “easy and efficient” so it’s gonna be the go-to playstyle. Because it’s not about having an actual challenge in this game, it’s about easy wins and 4K every match.
The only thing that will slow down tunneling and camping is by it being punished from the devs themselves and not this ridiculous “we want the survivors to punish it” BS that they throw out, which is basically just a way of saying they’re too lazy to do anything about it and/or that they don’t actually want to do anything about it. Personally I think this is because the devs who play killer camp and tunnel and they’re certainly not going to punish their own preferred playstyle within their own playerbase.

You claim that using Dead Hard successfully requires perfect timing, very high skill, and no interference from a whole slew of variables outside of your control to get to work. But you don't run the perk yourself at all? And you're saying that in your games, not that many survivors even run Dead Hard?
Do you play any killer? If you've got a high killrate, you'll see a lot of Dead Hard users as your MMR reaches the cap. Do you have a high MMR/escape rate on survivor? How comfortable are you in chase against M1 killers?
It's hard to explain why Dead Hard is considered broken and unfair compared to exposed without having an idea of your skill level.
I don’t run dead hard myself because after trying to for weeks and barely ever landing it accurately, I decided that I don’t have the skill level required to run it on top of the variables listed. But my friend that I play with do run it and while they’re better than me at it, they only land it around 2-3 times out of 10 for all the reasons I already listed. I don’t have to run it myself to see the issues surrounding getting it to work perfectly each and every time.
Yes I play killer. I main Myers.
