I'm glad somebody else thinks the same. I'm on my knees PRAYING that BHVR will just nerf survivors to not reveal Ghostface while on a hook 😭🙏. I don't insignificant buffs to cooldown and stalking speed
-
The Ghostface buffs are underwhelming in my opinion.
Can we get some some kind of reveal immunity from hooked survivors or at least reduce the range they can reveal you? What about giving a 50% recharge for downing a marked survivor? How about nerfing survivor disconnect BOTs so they can't constantly reveal you at max range?Like seriously, I can think of so many more QOL changes and buffs that would be more useful than making two addons partially basekit.

Well said.
I remember when I first started playing DBD it was reasonable for a survivor to keep track of aura reveal. A Nurse's Calling, BBQ, Bitter Murmur, a few add-ons here and there and Freddy who had it basekit. That was it. You could expect survivors to understand which aura reveal the killer was using and work around it.
But now that is simply no longer possible. Everything that you do, even just starting the match (Lethal Pursuer) will reveal your aura, and it shouldn't be like that. I don't even think the Distortion nerf was as severe as some people claimed it was, but I don't like how stealth is constantly the target here.
Hide and seek is easily my favorite playstyle. DBD isn't just about chases.
I wish more people would understand this. I personally love using stealth to outwit the killer, I find it really fun to play a deadly game of hide-and-go-seek. It's also interesting to force the killer to use their gamesense/gameknowledge to locate me, rather than using a perk or addon to get info on my location. I don't really feel like I can enjoy stealth gameplay as much anymore without being forced to run Boon Shadow Step or Off The Record.

I just want them to make it so that hooked survivors cannot reveal me :(
Same. Even if that's the only change they were to make to Ghostface, it would instantly make him feel 1000% better to play.

Isn't that last idea a weaker version of his iri add-on?
Yeah it is, but his iri addon still recharges your Night Shroud even if the survivor wasn't marked. What I want is a faster recharge for downing Marked/exposed survivors.

I mean that's just how his kit fundamentally works. Whether it's Hit and Run or Stalk and Run, there's always an "and run" attached to it.
Unless they want to give him a brand new ability on top of what he already has, juggling survivors by either hit and run or stalk micromanaging is his only game.
You can't really make him stronger without buffing hit and run playstyles because that's all he boils down to at the end of the day.
I have to disagree with this take. His cooldown used to be significantly longer (I think it was 30 seconds, then 24 seconds, and now 20 seconds). Having a longer cooldown means it's not a great idea to lose your stealth just to get an injury on one survivor, and it also means that you basically have to run a cooldown addon if you really want to commit to the hit-and-run playstyle.
Imo, hit and run is a strat that you use out of desperation to create pressure. It should not be the primary way to play Ghostface and it shouldn't be encouraged with a faster cooldown either. The primary way to play him should always be to stalk and ambush survivors.
I feel like a great "new ability" they could give him would be having some basekit rewards for stalking or downing marked survivors. Like if you down a marked survivors, you instantly recharge 50% Night Shroud. I feel like that would be healthier for the game and would make Ghostface feel more interesting/rewarding to play as. -

Matchbook basekit again (and a rework of Matchbook so I can finally feel like I can run other addons instead of cooldown), maybe Philly basekit too.
Apart from that, I don't know what they could do. Maybe 4.0m/s crouch speed?
I know that a lot of people have been asking for those two addons to be basekit, but I think that would make the gameplay on the Survivor side feel worse.
Both of those addons make Ghostface significantly stronger on indoor maps with no downsides, and a faster cooldown means that we will likely see more hit-and-run ghostface players, which is a playstyle many people find boring or annoying.
I'm happy with any basekit addons they give him, but like I said, it could mean a worse experience for Survivor players. -

What I think will happen: Reveal mechanic gets scrapped entirely and his ability gets put on a timer. Would not be a good move, but we've seen really bad/out of touch reworks make it to PTB before.
I'm really afraid of that happening. I've thought of that change becoming a possibility, let's hope they don't go in that direction.

Infinite Undetectable. Anyone who spots you disables your power temporarily but doesn't remove Undetectable.
I want Ghostface to surprise me but if he doesn't play stealthy then he gets punished for it. Make him the best stealth killer.
I really like this idea, since being Undetectable and stealth gameplay is the most appealing part of his power. I don't know if they'd add this though since it would make him significantly more effective against Solo survivors and only slightly more effective against SWFs
-
The best thing they could do is add the Survivor dialogue wheel from DBD mobile. Or they could also add text chat, which would make it significantly easier to report and ban people for offensive/inappropriate language when compared to voice chat.

Yet when I post a discussion that took 30+ minutes to type talking about ideas I have to help make Ghostface a better killer to play, no dev response and zero interest from any forum users whatsoever. Literally just proves that nobody on this website browses the “Feedback and Suggestions” category.

Good survivors will not cleanse (until last gen pops) so no. It hard-counters any healing (or provides strongest projectile weapon in game - rivalled only by oni's ability - but for a good reason both of them have hard condition and limited time).
Also IW will hard-counter spirit. She can no longer use her ability and be directed by sounds (as phasing sounds are way louder) - she can only use other means (prediction, moving grass, scratchmarks and pools of blood). Unnerfed an popular IW was the reason why barely anyone played spirit before patch 6.1.
But this is all fine. Having niche perks that do something in their niche is healthy. It would be bad if you had perks that are generally useless and still bad at their niche (I am looking at you Potential energy).
So you're saying that a specific perk (Iron Will) was making it more difficult to play a killer (Spirit) and that the perk put that killer at a huge disadvantage if anyone used that perk. And you're also saying it's ok for stealth killers to be put at a huge disadvantage if anyone is using a specific perk (Spine Chill) because it's a "niche perk"?
You're missing the big picture. Any perk that CAN be abused by highly experienced players or coordinated SWFs, WILL be abused by them. It's not ok for a perk to give a significant advantage against stealth killers just because it's a "niche" perk.
Also, IW no longer hard counters Spirit. Grunts of pain are reduced by 75% so good Spirit mains still have counterplay against it.
-
@MarylinMonhoe said:
I barely see any Spin chill users since the nerf (and I was a faithful user with iron will). This perk is usually used by new players who are really bad at the game, so Spine chill is barely a threat to an above average killer, stealth ones included.
People using it usually make a mistake which causes them to get revealed by the killer who can chases them.
So, no Spine chill isn't too strong, or you just need to get better and I say that in a very respectful manner. We were all learning the game at some point and that still goes on.
You need to remember that SWFs using comms and highly experience DBD players are typically the ones who get the most value from Spine Chill. Just because you "barely see any Spine Chill users" in pubs doesn't change the fact that the perk gives an unfair advantage against stealth killers.

Myers is one of the worst killers in the game, maybe the worst. I'm really conflicted on whether he's the worst but it's a matter of personal opinion, but we all know he's horrible. He needs a host of buffs, or he needs a rework. Because as it is now, the ONLY thing this killer has is infinite tier 3 and the tombstone add-ons. If he did not have this add-ons he'd be the worst killer in the game no doubt about it, and it's sad he has to really on these add-ons to even function on higher levels of play.
Because as we all know, the tombstone add-ons are kind of not fun. Like at all, call me crazy but I don't think you should be rewarded a free kill for simply getting to tier 3. I love the Halloween movies, and it's a shame that one of the biggest horror movie icons out there is so horrible the game. He needs something, I'd prefer him to get a complete rework (that keeps his core concept of course) along with an addon rework because most of his add-ons are pretty bad other than the before mentioned infinite tier 3 and tombstone add-ons. Dead rabbit is pretty good though, and that green one that gives you more stalk if you're stalking the obsession. But other than that, rest of his add-ons are trash. I think that tombstone add-ons are pretty unhealthy for the game and should be removed and made into different add-ons altogether. I wouldn't know how to change him other than obviously making him a lot better (shocker right???), I'm not a game designer but if anyone has any ideas feel free to comment them. Till next time see ya
That’s the beautiful part, Myers goes from garbage to god depending on what add ons you use.
He’s fine and doesn’t need any changes, just run Tombstone Piece and you’ll win 90% of your matches.

Yeah the healing changes just made the game harder and more frustrating to play solo survivor. I would’ve been fine with the update if it was just a COH and DH nerf
-
I love not seeing multiple dead Hards per match
-
Some people will complain no matter what strategy you use
-
Yeah they’ll probably nerf it, which is really sad because it’s become a staple in some of my builds. I just hope that they add strong new gen defense perks to make up for the inevitable loss of DL.

The only thing survivors get in my idea is DS and it isnt a good idea…
You said you want to have 80 second gens and teleporting hooks, what do you mean the DS is the only thing survivors would get? Lmao.
To combat tunneling, why not basekit OTR or basekit Guardian? I think Unbreakable should probably be buffed too. Your teleporting hook idea is really interesting, I wonder how much of an impact it would have
-
You want me to start the match as Ghostface with my power on cooldown? That sounds terrible, so that’s a big no from me.
30 seconds of Corrupt isn’t going to do much for weaker killers but will break the game for strong killers like Nurse, Blight, or Spirit.
DS doesn’t need to be basekit, it just needs to be buffed. If DS is basekit, a slug meta will probably happen.
Some of your ideas are cool and could make for some really interesting gameplay but there’s a lot of them I disagree with.
-
Lethal Pursuer
It’s overrated because you lose the perk for the rest of the match after 9 seconds. Even if it’s secondary effect extends aura readings for 2 seconds, you basically have to use an aura reading build and run multiple aura perks or add ons to get the maximum benefit from the secondary ability. Lethal is also completely countered by Distortion.
The only killers that are better off running LP are high mobility killers that can go from one side of the map to the other side extremely quickly.
-
Yeah, if you’re not using the Tombstone add-ons on Myers then Ghostface is just better in every way. It’s way easier to learn how to play Myers though, so he’s more beginner friendly which makes him more forgiving to play as I guess

Both of those Perks are fine on their own if Survivors want to be able to maintain information suppression while being able to Sprint. They don't need to be basekit.
I'm pretty sure crouching still muffles Grunts of Pain. (if it doesn't it should)
And with proper line of sight blockers being introduced in maps it'll be easier for Survivors to disengage/walk away from the Hook without being able to be spotted from halfway across the map. There's also something to be said about the other Survivor needing to make the choice between throwing down a trail of Scratch marks to lure the Killer towards a known location of a survivor vs following the other Survivor to heal.
They probably should be basekit perks. I’ll leave the hook and come back to it to follow the blood trail to the injured survivor. Also, I wear an expensive headset and usually I can still hear survivors grunts of pain even if they have Iron Will or No Mither. Breaking line of sight and hoping the killer doesn’t hear you or see trails of blood is a not a good tactic. If they’re dead set on tunneling, they will go out their way to track you which is why we should make it more difficult to track unhooked survivors.
-
Tunneling, camping, and slugging can be nerfed by:
•Giving survivors basekit Guardian or basekit Off The Record.
•Giving survivors 10 seconds of basekit Kindred after a survivor is hooked.
•Buffing the perk Unbreakable to have 3 uses per trial.
•Adding strong new killer perks to the game that incentivize killers to go for different survivors.
-
I agree, we should probably give basekit Off The Record and basekit Guardian. I frequently tunnel and the pools of blood and grunts of pain make it easy to find recently unhooked survivors.
-
Solo definitely needs more buffs and QOL changes, but there’s basically 3 reasons why solo gets stomped:
- They are easier to tunnel because they can’t communicate or coordinate a way to protect a teammate from being tunneled.
- They are more casual players that sometimes don’t bring any item to the match or they use weak perks that provide them basically no value during the match.
- They’re not efficient with they’re time and do things like open chests, hide, or taunt to killers to provoke a chase.
Reasons 2 and 3 cannot be fixed. Solo players will be solo players. But more changes should be implemented to reduce the effectiveness of tunneling against solos.
-
Any changes would be better than what Skull Merchant is now. I totally agree that a full solo lobby basically stands no chance against a competent SM

I'm good at killer, but I'm stronger at survivor. I don't see how these changes would be terrible, care to explain?
High skilled killer mains know that these changes would be overkill because the best way to win in the current meta is to tunnel a survivor out as fast as possible and then hopefully have a 3 gen to defend. The way to counter this is to gen rush. The perk Corrupt Intervention is a huge trade-off. You block gens and prevent immediate gen rushing but you eventually lose the perk for the rest of the trial. Giving basekit Corrupt is no-risk, all reward since you’re not wasting a perk slot.
Giving haste after hooking will make it way too easy to immediately pressure gens on small maps, and will reduce the benefit you’d normally get while playing as a survivor on a large map. It’s just not a good idea.

He is literally unplayable since he was released.
Don’t listen to Pulsar OP. Trickster is the way to go on console, you’ll have tons of fun and get plenty of 4Ks
-
Trickster seems like he would be pretty easy to play on console. I’m play on PC though
-
You’re right. There’s no other killer like that in this game. Just Myers, he’s OP.
-
How about these suggested changes:
•Give basekit Off The Record and Guardian
•Give 10 seconds of basekit Kindred after a survivor is hooked so teammates know if a killer is proxy camping or leaving the hook.
•Buff Unbreakable so I can be used up to 3 times per trial.
These changes would make tunneling, camping, and slugging significantly weaker. This is coming from someone who tunnels every match and thinks slugging is fun.
-
These suggested changes are terrible. Also, it makes sense that you’re suggesting these changes because killer obviously isn’t you’re strong suit since you said you’re a survivor main. Take some time to keep learning how to play killer and try to tunnel every match, you’ll get the hang of it.
-
It definitely needs to be removed. You shouldn’t be grabbed while healthy when you’re going for a hook rescue.
-
So, you’re saying that you can win if you tunnel survivors and camp the jigsaw boxes, but you want the Pig to be buffed even further just so you don’t have to use that strategy to get a guaranteed win? That doesn’t make any sense.
If you only care about winning, then tunneling and camping is the best strategy to use. If you care more about all players having a fun/fair experience, then play for jump scares and hooks. I personally always have fun playing against the Pig whether they tunnel or not.

Because access to team wide self healing for the cost of a single perk slot on a single character pretty much poops on the game balance. Self healing wasn't meant to be that easily accessible considering the game is more balanced when teams actually are a forced a bit more to act as a team. New CoH incentivizes that.
They could’ve just gave it a 60 second cool down after the totem was snuffed or maybe even given killer basekit Shattered Hope but now the perk trash for solos and a decent pick for SWFs.
Not gonna lie, I really enjoy not seeing it every match as killer but the perk could’ve been nerfed differently to not create an even bigger gap between solo and SWFs.

Imagine tho, tunneling them without them having BNP to counter act with?
that would be fun for once.
Yeah I would be fun but it would be kind of a complete stomp if you’re tunneling them and they can’t tunnel gens. I won’t be upset if they ever nerf BNP but I don’t think it needs to be nerfed though.
-
Yeah they took away self healing from the Boon: Circle of Healing. It’s not a bug it’s just a massive nerf to the perk.
I don’t see why they couldn’t have kept the self healing because now the perk is worthless for solo survivors.
-
Nah I get such a massive ego boost when I win against multiple BNPs. Especially if it was a SWF.
Besides, why do we want to try to take everything strong away from survivors? Let them keep their BNP and let me continue to tunnel.
-
You’re playing a new killer that you haven’t mastered yet in an extremely sweaty meta. I honestly don’t know why you’d expect to get easy or non-sweaty matches.
-
He’s fine if you use the tombstone add-ons. Deadlock, Corrupt, PWYF, a forth perk of choice has always been a solid build for Myers.
-
The Dead Hard nerf is fine.
Revert the Medkit changes entirely.
Give COH a 60 second cooldown after the boon totem is snuffed by the killer. Keep the ability to use self care.
-
Pentimento, Deadlock, Corrupt.
End chases quickly

Lethal is pretty much never a waste of a perk slot.
Problem people have with it is that they use it to find the closest survivor and then pretend they didn't see the rest of the players too.
Good use of Lethal means you find your first 2 chases fast. Depending on what's happening you could also slug and prevent a early gen from getting done and force others of gens too.
Lethal is close to the best perk in the game on the right killers. It offers a quick way to snowball but it's up to it's user to make it happen.
Corrupt, while good i always found a bit overrated. Great on setup killers like trapper or plague but for others the survivors will just go to the nearest unblocked gens. It's good but people really need to stop pretending it stops any gen progress while active. There are still 4 workable gens on the map and only one place the killer can be at a time.
I would never run corrupt on killers like clown, blight, nurse and pretty much any killer that wants/needs to get downs fast to snowball. It's really not as universal as people think
Lethal can be completely countered by Distortion. Name one survivor perk that can unblock gens that are blocked by Corrupt Intervention. You can’t because no such perk exists.
Lethal only becomes decent when you’re using an aura build or when you’re using a high mobility killer.
Might as well run Discordance since it’s a waaay better information perk that gives you value throughout the entire match, not just at the beginning.
-
It’s a breath of fresh air to not see 3 or 4 Dead Hards every match. Hopefully it stays that way
-
Lethal is a waste of a perk slot. Corrupt Intervention will always be universally good on every killer.
-
Twins
They’re somehow even more boring to face then Skull Merchant.

My main is Ghostface, so it's pretty terrible for me. Gens just fly, and there's literally no way for me to get a gen back down to a manageable level. I essentially absolutely must run around like a madman putting as much pressure as possible with hits which means less time actually doing stealthy plays. That means constantly chasing people off gens without stealth. Ghostie just simply can't keep running back and forth at gens in a stealthy manner, now. PR was his saving grace since it allowed him to actually leave generators and still have some protection on them. He's too weak in chases, but before, at least once you finished a loop, you could use PR to recover some of that chase time. Not now. Now he has to 3 gen camp, and it really sucks. His winning option is to hit and run constantly now which really takes away from his fun stealth factor. It's essentially a race of hooks vs speed generators with no room for the fun stealthy and spooky plays (which while less effective, were still mangeable). No more wiggle room. Now it's just a race.
You should practice using Ghostface’s “Driver’s License” add-on if you don’t already. It let’s you explode gens for 20% progress and gives you crazy map pressure.
Also, use the perk Play With Your Food. It helps you get the exposed downs you otherwise wouldn’t get.
Hit and run will never be a viable strategy on Ghostface. He’s an insta-down killer that needs to pick his chases very carefully and end them quickly.
-
If they increase the amount of dull totem spawns, then absolutely
