  • It's true Pig does need a lot of adjustments.

Her boxes should be affected by Lullaby and Blindness. It's not that hard to open your eyes and find the box. That blindness affecting the boxes being stronger than Rule Set #2 is only the case because Rule Set #2 is trash and should've just been in her base kit.

Her addons affecting skill checks on boxes are also just so bad. Those addons should make the skillchecks go from the opposite direction and make the skill checks MUCH smaller.

  • This is pretty stupid. Killers playing "victim" has nothing to do with survivors being more toxic whatsoever. It has to do with a power imbalance. "Playing" also insinuates it's not true..it is.

  • Most fun to go against would would be Huntress and Spirit. Both feel like a fair battle of skill and mind games.

  • Yeah I've been saying this for a while. Way too many killers are far too addon dependent. They need to bake some of them into their base power and nerf the addons slightly to compensate.

  • It was a good idea. The reason it didn't work is because it just further illustrated how strong survivors currently are even without healing and how brokenly fast the gens can be done.

The healing change wasn't the issue, it just made the more serious issue more noticeable. The change was still a good one, SC was way too strong.

I play survivor at rank 1 as well on every single reset since the game came out.

I think that's become an overused term to describe people on both sides now and realistically play what you want. It's probably better if you play both sides though since you understand things better that way.

True. Essentially a term for disagreement these days.

SWF is the equivalent of the killer using speed hacks. It's cheating. The game was "balanced" around 4 perks per survivor not 10++

Oh good grief not this nonsense again, now it's 10 perks instead of 16 give it a rest, why is it that good killers still manage to destroy swf? If voice coms are so powerful why do even bad killer still destroy swf and why is the survival rate below 50%?

Yes voice gives advantages but if all the killers would stop blaming voice for all the games where they do bad they'd realize it might just be them sometimes.

That was a 4 man premade that destroyed me before on Corn map and I also played that map horribly and I let the last person get hatch. I didn't come on the forums and complain about swf, or the map or voice comms I simply accepted that they played better than me.

When I faced them again I didn't make the same mistakes I'd done before, I didn't do bad chases, I pathed better and got a 3k.

They could seriously separate swf into it's own queue and you people would still come up with excuses and complaints for why you did badly at times. If all the potatoes that play swf go into their own queue guess who you get left with then?

Don't bother with them. Killer mains when it comes to SWF act like Tyde Tyme with a killer hes bad at but other people are good at. Either they got lucky or the team was bad lmao and thats all these people say.

And how exactly am I a killer main? Please elaborate

  • It had nothing to do with prove thyself or leader buffs, it's been around for years.

  • She already is very strong. That said, I agree it shouldn't be directional. She's already got enough hindrances for being ranged.

  • Calling a killer bad for needing Ruin is like calling a crippled person weak for needing a cane...that's how stupid it sounds.

Why it is so important to have 4k and not the last survivor getting the hatch? If you find the the guy before he finds the hatch good if not he leaves and you move on the next game. You even get 2 pip even if last one escapes through hatch. So why slug and take 3 people’s time?

P.s. I am genuinely curious no sarcasm or salt intended.

Because the hatch is a free undeserved escape. The equivalent of this would be you powering all gens and right as you open the gate you just automatically fall over dead. That doesn't sound fair does it. That's basically what the hatch is.

And how you judge someone deserves or not to escape? I had games against solo survivors where one of them doing gens as much as possible, looping, unhooking while others drop like flies. And you’re saying just because that person matched with 3 bad survivors he/she doesn’t deserve to have a chance to escape. And that’s what I see hatch as; a chance to escape. You can still get them before they find it.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. It's a team game. You aren't accomplishing your goal solo. To get them before they hatch you would literally have to find them way away from the hatch and get 2 hits in before they reach it. You realize how unlikely that is? That scenario is only happening if the survivors screws up tremendously or is a rank 20.

I feel that even if there were zero ways to get other peoples DS's back and only the first person to use it got to use it, that would still be too strong.

Well I can understand that but I'm thinking of the solo players who've bought the DLC and perhaps are going for the adept achievement.

I think for swfs a fair tradeoff is only 1 person can have it equipped in the group since even if they invite the random(s) to voice there will still be drawbacks. That way solo players don't get screwed over if they join a lobby with a swf in it.

Edit: I just thought of adding this that the more DS that're in the group the smaller the skill check window becomes as well. So instead of the 35% default size it'd be 10% with 4 people as an example but that'd probably hurt the potatoes and not deal with the pro's.

I see what you're saying about the solo's. I feel like those changes still leave it in a rough spot though as I feel most high ranks could abuse it. I actually kind of liked the devs previous idea that they didn't go through with in relation to making it a root in place instead. This gives it counter play with a few different perks, makes a little more thought go into when to use it at a time when you think he's further from the hook and couldn't make it and also more teamwork play as in saving it for when you know a teammate is nearby as the root will give him time to body block, flashlight, or root right as u go through a pallet to hold you there for a slam. What do you think of that?

What if DS simply is deactivated up until you've reached the struggle phase?

To me, that's the simplest solution yet achieving a decent result, allowing killers to get their early game pressure when deserved.

That doesn't solve anything. Whether you lose all pressure at first hook or third hook, it doesn't matter as it's still achieving its goal.

How about this change, Ds is active for everyone until the 1st DS user is hooked at which time all the other DS users get a lockout.

The lockout can be removed by doing either 1 safe unhook meaning the unhooked person can't be hit for 15 seconds that includes during BT. They can also completely 1 gens progress but they have to do 1 total gen by themselves either solely or a bunch of co op gens.

The lockout isn't removed for everyone else though, only the person that does the actions required gets it unlocked. The lockout would work similar to say Tapps token perk or the exhaustion timers how it shows progress.

The killer would know this and would know to watch for unsafe hook rushes but also that people would focus on gens.

I feel that even if there were zero ways to get other peoples DS's back and only the first person to use it got to use it, that would still be too strong.

Her traps are generally fine. She needs her crouch and ambush improved primarily. Crouch view point raised and the roar removed from the ambush to make it viable. Currently the best move is to simply uncrouch and not even use the ambush. She's quite close to being rank 1 viable, only needs some small tweaks. There are some other changes I'd like for her but those 2 are the primary ones she needs imo.

Her ambush isn't nearly as bad as it used to be since most survivors replaced sprint burst with a different exhaustion (her dash counters dead hard and she can start crouch mid air to zone out BL users). I do agree that her dash might need some minor buff but i think her TR and the fact that traps are countered to a point by SWF and aura are bigger issues. If both these changes don't make her viable then we can still talk about a dash buff that counters looping further.

Even without Sprintburst only an idiot is getting hit by that ambush. They'd have to be REALLY oblivious and not paying attention. How are her traps countered by SWF?
"SWF groups and solos using aura perks like Aftercare, Bond or Empathy can easily deduce which box the next trap can or can't free them" Elaborate on this as I complete disagree. Seeing your allies has no effect on finding out which box is the one you need.

First of all, stop taking 10++ completely literal. I was making a point, I figured that was obvious.

Second, look up the definition of anecdotal evidence.

I wreck and 4k plenty of SWF groups as well, that doesn't mean ANYTHING. You wrecked them because they played badly and there are plenty of bad SWF groups just like there are good ones. The general principal we have applied of how by being SWF they have access to a multitude of extra perks that the game wasn't balanced around still applies. A killer can use speed hacks and still lose, that doesn't mean speed hacks aren't OP it just means as a human he can and sometimes will play stupid.

Also, using spirit is like using nurse and saying swf are fine. Spirit is probably one of the few exception killers like nurse.

I like how your 3k here was due to you "playing better" and toooootally not because of the Ebony Mori.

Not like you used an ebony mori and still failed to 4k a coordinated SWF group.

This totally doesn't actually hurt your position at all. Nope. No siree.

What are you even talking about? None of that was anything I said.

I've always thought that buff would be more fitting for Brutal Strength, since it makes your kicks stronger so you'd damage the generator more. Overcharge I've always looked at as the skill check perk. With that said, I still do like that idea, I just think it'd be a little more fitting to Brutal Strength.

As a replacement, what if failing the Overcharge skill check locked out the generator for a longer period of time? By that, I mean the period of time after you fail a skill check where you cannot repair the generator. That way you could keep Overcharge focused on the skill checks but it would also be more meaningful when someone does miss that skill check.

    +1

Like the ideas for both perks.

  • The game isn't even remotely killer sided. Complaining about camping shows a misunderstanding of the game fundamentally. This is simply a lack of experience. You need to practice and get better at the game.

It's pretty rare to see at high ranks. This leads me to believe that the people generally complaining about this a lot at high ranks are ones that are doing something toxic or abusive. May be more common at lower ranks though, your entire team is escaping for free at least.

  • I don't mind licensed chapters but I think the devs have pulled back some on them because of how tied it makes their hands. ie hard to get cosmetics for them so less profitability which is understandable.

If you have a certain skill with killer, then Spirit is very potent because you'll be able to cut survivors off.
Is it 100% consistent? No, but you'll probably win most of your chases.

Also, I'm not sure I would say Spirit is the third best killer. Billy and Huntress are both very strong killers. You don't even need add ons to do well with these two. Hag is also very good if played properly.

I don't play a lot of Spirit, but this is my basic understanding.

A mindgame is a mindgame, not sth you are "skilled in".
And thats the problem of spirit if you ask me

shes amazing in the right hands. counters loops and has great mobility and map control. theres not a lot you can do against a good spirit with ears, and if you're injured, better have iron will or gl

How do you counter loops with consistency? Because of her movement speed, it's not too difficult to tell if she's stopped chasing you without putting yourself at risk in a non visible wall loops. And out in the open, it's straight out obvious. You can easily avoid phase baits by just not going near the husk. And against an actual phase, how does it become anything more than a game of chance to close in a survivor that could have gone in any direction?

Loops are non existent with her. If a spirit is getting looped by the survivor then the person playing spirit just isn't very good.

With having good hearing and being able to predict survivor moves you can outplay them at all pallets and jukes. You can tell if they are trying to juke backwards as the scratch marks end and you can usually hear them, especially if they are injured. Not to mention you can also feel a "bump" if you run into them. You also get a ton of hits by fake phasing. You just stand there at the pallet and the survivor will jump across into you or just slowly walk away, which also leaves them in the open and away from the pallet.

She also has high map pressure with the speed of her phasing.

She very rightly goes into the 3rd rank spot in my opinion. When people think she isn't that great at these things it's usually just because they havn't practiced her enough to do well. It's all about the hearing with her, you need good headphones and to listen carefully. The scratch marks are only getting you in the general area, they aren't the majority of what you are using to land hits.

  • You forgot that they don't actually even have to bleed out because they will just DC to give the hatch to the other guy.

So to be clear you think they are making killers too strong against solo's in the process of dealing with SWF? It was a lot to read so I just skimmed.

No worries. And not exclusively, but that is partially what is happening. Like I said, I think both killer and survivor go back and forth in regards getting placed in a stronger position game wise, because on a fundamental level, buffs/nerfs are not being done solely on the basis of results that involve only solo gameplay, but rather SWF statistics are also being considered (because their is no way to track SWF matches separately so these game stats get mixed in with solo survivor stats, such as win rates/escapes, etc) I believe that because of this the basis on information the game gets patched on is arguably skewed.

That is unless I am wrong and they do indeed have a way to track premade game progress separately.

    @TheBean said:
Bascially... Leave the core of the game the way it is now. Add in the Ladder system the Devs mentioned awhile back. However, make it a seperate queue, solo only, and anonymous (meaning people can't see who or what is in their lobbies, in order to dodge).... Basically make it so you get big penalties if you dodge a ladder lobby.

There done... You get a Ladder Try Hard Queue for solo players... One that survivors can't dodge because they can't see if their friends are in the lobby or not. One that killers can't dodge cause they can't see anyone in the lobby but four anonymous survivors. They can try hard and compare all their stats together...

Then the casuals can stay in the current system which stays as is, other then the current buffing / nerfing actions that already happen.

Barely any changes to the system as is... They are adding in dedicated servers anyways.. with the talk of ladders... Just make it so you can't play SWF in the ladders and people who want to play regular games still can, and those who want to pit their skill on the ladder have a good / fair solo queue to do so.

I really like this idea! They could even go a step further and make a SWF only ladder, where for example you need to be premade with at least 1 other player. This would also give killers who enjoy the extra challenge a chance to test their skills.

    Ah I see.

While SWF is one of the core issues I still think even solo survivors are way stronger than killers bar exceptions like nurse etc anyway. If solo survivors and a killer both played a perfect game hypothetically, the killer would lose every single time. To me that's not very balanced. Now the reason we don't see this as much is because the average survivor isn't very good. Even though the average isn't very good I still think it would be very bad to balance around assuming they will play bad, which is what we currently have, hence the imbalance. My opinion anyway from a lot of hours.

I think the best solution is split ranked and unranked que's with SWF only allowed in unranked (maybe allow only up to a 2man SWF in ranked possibly). Obviously for this to work we would need rank rewards and for ranking up to be made much harder.

I don't believe the devs plan of bringing the solo survivor up to SWF levels is ever going to work. They would need to buff killers exponentially and I just cannot see them ever buffing killers the amount needed based on their past 3 years of balance. I also simply think this wouldn't make the game as fun as you'd have less surprises and jump scares.

  • So to be clear you think they are making killers too strong against solo's in the process of dealing with SWF? It was a lot to read so I just skimmed.

  • This is actually a fantastic idea. Turn it into a perk to improve your map pressure instead of chase speed. +1 for this.

  • Save all my mori's/best addons for when I know it's a swf

  • Any non licensed killer will

  • I agree it's not good to trash on them and we all get carried away sometimes.

Some of us including myself just get a little jaded when we've tried to provide constructive criticism to fix their game over the last 3 years to simply fall on deaf ears. After all constructive feedback accomplishes nothing we're left with little other choices.

I'd like to not be as disgruntled with them, it just gets frustrating when the same mistakes and poor choices that were made at the games beginning are still being made. It shows that nothing was learned. A lot of us just love this game so much and know how much even greater it could be if the proper changes were made but they refuse to do so.

  • @powerbats I'm going to end this here, this is a pointless circle jerk. I can't rationalize with an irrational person. I suggest you play this game some more to get better experience. Hopefully you'll come back here and realize your folly.

If you can't see how SWF has access to extra perks then I can't help you, it's quite obvious. Yes there are literally only 4 perks slots to equip, that's not what we're talking about.

Yet more illogical nonsense, the killer has the same access to all those extra perks they can run as well and you're assuming that every swf group has every single perk unlocked. That means they'd have to have bought the dlcs or magically gotten them in the Shrine.

All you;'re doing is making up excuses for your own bad gameplay here, I own every character yet I don't have all the perks on any of my characters. While I've got them unlocked I don't have them all let alone some more than tier I.

" Wait what a killer can use speed hacks and lose, did you actually put that total nonsense in there and believe it would actually fly."

I put this here to show how stupid your comparisons were. By your reaction it appears it connected.

No you put that in there trying to be a smartass and instead made yourself look foolish and your response shows you know it.

" It's like I keep saying you and the other vocal minority on here will make and come up with any excuse for when someone does good against swf."

I'm the majority not the minority, you're mixing up our positions.

If that were the case then the entire community would be on here not the same vocal minority, you might be the majority on 4Chan or a troll subReddit. Again with total nonsense that has no bearing in actual fact but given your prior nonsense it's not surprising.

" Oh so if i do this as Trapper are you going to use the same fallacy, how about Freddy, or if I can 3-4k as Trapper? "

You missed the point entirely. It's that you are picking exceptions rather than the norm.

No the only one missing things here is you, you cherry pick and then make stuff up then try more of the tried and failed troll nonsense.

"There's well the survivors were potatoes, the killer got lucky, it was a bad map for survivors, they made too many mistakes ( well duh), they were deranking etc."

If you hear it that much maybe it's time to reflect and that you might actually be the one confused.

Again you just can't stop trying to deflect knowing you're entire argument has no basis in reality and given the minority on here posts that it means once again you're wrong.

Really? a comment from 2 weeks ago..

" the killer has the same access to all those extra perks they can run as well and you're assuming that every swf group has every single perk unlocked."

The killer does not and I am not assuming that every swf group has every single perk unlocked whatsoever. You are missing the entire point of what I am saying.

"All you;'re doing is making up excuses for your own bad game play here"

I have played every season at rank 1 on both sides since the games release. I think you're mixing up our positions.

" No you put that in there trying to be a smartass and instead made yourself look foolish"

No, it just further shows that you didn't develop critical thinking skills to follow.

" If that were the case then the entire community would be on here not the same vocal minority"

Whether someone agrees or disagrees has very little to do with whether or not they happen to be on the forums to post. This isn't difficult to understand.

"No the only one missing things here is you, you cherry pick"

The hypocrisy is laughable. I've cherry picked nothing. I've been playing this game long enough and at max rank on both sides to actually have an understanding of what goes on.

"entire argument has no basis in reality and given the minority on here posts that it means once again you're wrong."

The majority is agreeing with me, you are the one in the minority. You really wanna talk reality? You probably don't even have half the hours I do in this game.

  • Even with the times you get unlucky and it's cleansed almost immediately it is still far better than any of the other options. I think it's required. Lullaby is bad and so is Thanata.

Even if I don't want to tunnel, I can't just run into that same guy and be like, wait no I'll let him go so I'm not a tunneler and just randomly wander around looking for someone new. That would literally lose you all of your pressure and as killer you only get 1 screw up and it costs you the game. I'm sorry but this isn't survivor land where you can dick around and screw up a lot but still get multiple second chances.

The amount of survivors that think you're a tunneler just because they happened to be the one they ran into again is astounding.

Lastly, even IF we ignore all of these things I've said, tunneling is a legit smart strategy even if it was intentional. That's like a killer telling you to stop doing gens...

The people that complain about tunneling are the same ones that play zero killer at any meaningful rank to know what they are talking about.

I play killer quite a bit and go out of my way not to tunnel. I've made it to red ranks. So, you are wrong.

    Anecdotal, meaningless.

You can make it to red ranks without tunneling, that isn't what I said at all. Go back and reread.

Are you serious? You made a bogus generalization. I contradicted it with my own experience. Perhaps you should reread your own words. I'll help you out, it's the paragraph that starts with, "The people who complain about tunneling..."

It isn't a "bogus generalization" it's fact. If you disagree it shows your lack of experience.

So if someone disagrees with your generalization, you make another generalization about them.

You aren't following. The issue isn't you disagreeing, it's your lack of understanding the material.

More to do with your baseless assumptions, but okay.

    "So, you are wrong."

I didn't assume anything, you literally said it yourself.

I don't know but one reason could be the fact that when she's phasing she can't see the survivors.

She'll just go for the first set of scratch marks, noises, grass moving that she sees.

I mean as the spirit walks she glitches and if she phases at the right time her glitch out will cover up the phase. Probably at least 200 bs hits caused by that alone.

I wouldn't call it bs, that is entirely it's point. It's supposed to. You aren't supposed to be able to tell when she's phasing if you're just looking at her.

No I mean as she is running that glitch effect spirits when they phase in that you can't tell like at all.
So it goes from running glitch back boom behind you. That is out of 'that is how it is supposed to work.'

Oh well that's just the normal passive phasing she has. That's part of why it exists. I don't believe that's a glitch. Do you have a recording I could look at?

They aren't intentionally tunneling. Answer this, when you're in spirit phase and survivors are invisible so you are going solely on scratch marks and sounds, who is going to be the loudest one you hear, the full health guy or the injured guy? Exactly, the injured one
