  • They aren't intentionally tunneling. Answer this, when you're in spirit phase and survivors are invisible so you are going solely on scratch marks and sounds, who is going to be the loudest one you hear, the full health guy or the injured guy? Exactly, the injured one

There's just a lot higher chances that after we come back we will run into the same injured guy.

The game is all about pressure. Even if I don't want to tunnel, I can't just run into that same guy and be like, wait no I'll let him go so I'm not a tunneler and just randomly wander around looking for someone new. That would literally lose you all of your pressure and as killer you only get 1 screw up and it costs you the game. I'm sorry but this isn't survivor land where you can dick around and screw up a lot but still get multiple second chances.

The amount of survivors that think you're a tunneler just because they happened to be the one they ran into again is astounding.

Lastly, even IF we ignore all of these things I've said, tunneling is a legit smart strategy even if it was intentional. That's like a killer telling you to stop doing gens...

The people that complain about tunneling are the same ones that play zero killer at any meaningful rank to know what they are talking about.

  • If the game was more balanced we'd see more killers. As a survivor you can make so many mistakes and get multiple second chances, but one mistake on killer and that costs you the game.

  • This is the result of a terrible ranking system. They made it way too easy to rank up for both sides so we're left with all these people that shouldn't be anywhere near as high rank as they are. It's even worse on the survivor side, you literally have to afk not to rank up.

Oh i thought it was because in a game with no rank rewards no real meaningful ranks players just don't have the stones to play because it will shatter their fragile ego if they lose.

    Yeah you were mistaken

What are your main balancing issues?

You mean specifically or that you just disagree?

The game isn't even remotely close to balanced. Anyone that plays both sides at rank 1 with a decent amount of hours agrees to this.

Playing as him you need no skill to down someone (sorry you really dont need any)+ if you get a 5 min match you will probably kill only 1 at best.
He is very weak if you get good survivors in your game, he is decent/good if you get decent/bad survivors in your game.
    I honestly dont like him.
Here is a good video that sums up all legion clown fiest talk

This sums it up perfectly. An absolute disaster of a design. Even better part is that based on the devs past records the rework to fix him probably won't be for another 2 years.

I'd like one that makes survivors change the way they play. For example a "werewolf" type killer that has a leap ability. He could leap onto sides of buildings or trees and click again to hold onto the side of it. This would make the survivors have to be looking up and at the trees or buildings so that they don't get ambushed from above. Maybe while he holds the button to cling to the tree or building he could also crawl along it and leap down at survivors or leap from tree to tree if you were skilled enough.

If people hate Legion as much as they do, they'd hate this even more. But I agree. Not with this idea, necessarily, but I like the idea of killers that change the way that survivors play and taking away the feeling of safety that they tend to have.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Legion at all. Legion making survivors play differently also has completely nothing to do with why people don't like him.

Uhhhh, dude. A killer who can jump around objects has a lot to do with a killer who can vault (and people hate that he can vault because blah blah core mechanics), but okay.

Him ignoring pallets and windows doesn't make them play any differently whatsoever. Their issue is with him requiring no skill to play as or against. Also that there's no counter for the blood following strat or a Franks Mixtape.

I think they could pull off some of the classic killers like "vampire" or "werewolf" if they changed them a little and put their own spin on it. Like a killer that was corrupted enough by the entity that it made them succumb to their inner beast.

If 2 gens are done and 3 survivors are dead, hatch is open for the last survivor.

It's kinda unfair because if the killer killed others while only 2 gens got done, he deserves the 4th kill.

He doesn't "deserve" any kill. And again, the survivor still has to find the hatch in the first place. If there's only one survivor left (this happened to me when I played as survivor yesterday), you could sit and patrol the hatch yourself.

He killed 3 people before finishing the gens, that was earned, you lost the game.

Also "you could sit and patrol the hatch yourself. " Is just complete nonsense. Yeah let's sit there and then start a hatch standoff for a few hours. That isn't a counter.

The insta heals kill so much time and pressure. As soon as ones used you pretty much have to go into heavy try hard mode to try and make up that lost time and pressure.

Yup. The insta-heals especially take a lot of the killer's time if they are used during a chase. That's why I am suggesting giving the exposed status for 30 seconds: It would solve the problem with people healing in front of the killer.

Another version for a rework: Don't make the insta-heal a complete health state but only like 50 % of the health bar. What do you think about that?

I like that idea of the best insta heal only doing 1 health state, that's a little more manageable than the double.

  • I enjoy playing Freddy quite regularly at rank 1. I don't even want the devs to change him, just fix some of his issues.

When I was playing legion, I checked the locker in the basement and survivor happened to be in the other locker, since it gives me locker speed, I was able to catch him and down him due to 1 shot.

One game, highly situational, anecdotal evidence therefor irrelevant.

Devs have to realize this that KILLERS CAN NOT AFFORD SITUATIONAL PERKS but for some reason they refuse to do so.

Survivors can. Survivors have 16 perk slots, they can use highly situational perks and benefit from them, killers have 4 slots and they don't have enough slots to afford useless perks.

I am pretty sure these are the most used killer perks.

BBQ, whisperer, NOED, Ruin, enduring, brutal strength, bamboozle, spirit fury, MYC, Monitor and abuse, Nurse's calling etc.

Have you noticed something? All of these perks help killers throughout the match except for NOED and ruin and even then, those 2 perks sometimes change the whole game.

    STOP GIVING KILLERS SITUATIONAL PERKS.

    Thank you.

+1 Killers don't have room for situational perks. Well said.

  • BBQ, MYC, Ruin, Stridor

I feel pretty strongly about these being some of her best.

Haunted Ground is gimmicky and unreliable. Whispers just doesn't make sense as it's better for killers with low map pressure of which Spirit is very strong in. STBFL doesn't even fit with her as most her hits are coming out of her phases and there are much better perks. Some people also like to run some of the pallet perks like the Enduring/Spirit Fury combo which also doesn't make any sense as pallets aren't even an issue for Spirit.

Almost every time I run into survivors that rage DC, act toxic, or complain about tunneling/camping/slugging etc, it's always survivors that don't play killer hardly at all or only at super low ranks. They have no perspective. I try to tell them that if they actually played killer at high ranks as well their actions and opinions would change entirely but they don't listen. It's also why we get the constant posts in these forums of people that were only survivor mains who finally played killer enough to come back and apologize that they were so wrong about a myriad of things.

Someone who gets annoyed with game mechanics they perceive as unfair or annoying isn't on the same level as someone who willfully breaks the rules (DCs).

I'd agree. They were just other things I see as well.

  • It's just a trash meme perk.

It's highly situational that it activates and even when it does, the chance that it actually pays off is extremely low.

As soon as a person uses a locker one time and sees the debuff they are never going to use a locker again. Then you just wasted a perk slot for nothing.

The Exposed is so short that they would LITERALLY have to be jumping out of a locker right next to you..because that's gonna happen.

It's just an extremely poorly thought out perk that I actually find kind of insulting that it would even be made in the state it is. It epitomizes the devs poor balancing in the game.

  • I think he means more about the ones on like the corn maps. They basically make all those mind games non existent so they're all safe pallets. I'd second that change.

  • If ANYTHING Exhaustion perks needs nerfs with how strong they are, much less buffs in the form of Vigil.

I think your best bet would be to play survivor more. Playing survivor has made me infinitely better as a killer. I'm no longer afraid of SWF anymore.

You will be when you get to rank 1.

  • You basically touched on issue.

The core reason why the game is about looping and not hiding is because of how way overly strong pallets and windows are. This coupled with the hitbox differences is what causes the problem.

This is also why almost all the tier 1 killers are killers who can in some shape or form counter looping.

None of your abilities counter looping? That basically auto puts you at mid-tier at best.

The only exception to this is Billy and that's just because he is insanely powerful in every other area to compensate, is very easy to play and his downsides are very low/extremely forgiving.

We just need A LOT of extra brush/debri/hiding places and "corn" if you will, to be able to not just hide but also make jukes mid chase. In return for this pallets and windows get weakened.

The issue isn't that stealth perks are weak or that killer tracking perks are too strong, it's just how much better loops are. We don't need to nerf killer tracking perks.

  • +1 This would be a really nice buff for terror radius perks. Might actually make some of them worth using.

  • Agreed. The blindness effect could really use some small improvements to make it more useful. Hex: The Third Seal is also quite underwhelming, even if blindness got these buffs..

  • Grats!

I have every killer except for 2 at Prestige 3 and all of them with every single perk in the game at tier 3.

the only thing I find weird about Prayer Beads is that the Wraith doesn't have a similarly powerful addon that removes his shimmer while cloaked. Tbh I don't get why he still has a shimmer at all. He could use that kind of buff at base and would still probably not even be mid tier.

I'd imagine it's because of counter-play design reasons.

He's extremely slow when cloaking and decloaking. That should be enough, IMO, and I wish the devs would see that.

    Basically^

You could not know he was there till he was right on top of you and it still wouldn't be that big of a deal with his uncloaking.

    THIS ^^

They point to a 2 kill ratio to say the game is balanced. That number isn't accurate at all. Take out all the games where NOED activated and see what the ratio is then. This also isn't accounting for the added kills where whoever the last guy to get hooked when gates are powered gets face camped. Or survivors accidentally getting caught just because they were trolling after the gates were open.

It should only count kills prior to gates being powered. Then we'd see how actually "balanced" it looked.

The game is still not over when the gates are being powered. So the kill should count from beginning to end. Hopefully they make a change to the end game in the near future.

With how fast the gates are it basically is. Which is why most killers camp the first survivor they get right after the gates are powered. The gates are too survivor favored.

  • Even in the best case scenario Thenata is trash. NC is a pretty strong perk in general tho

  • If he even got to stalk yall that much then you just played very poorly. That's on you, not the addon.

  • Neither of those are counters. You need to play the game more.

  • If the killer was watching him that close you're "supposed" to just go work on gens.

That said, let's be real honest here. 90% of my games that third guy will just DC to give the 4th guy the free hatch. Even in those small amount of match where the 3rd guy doesn't DC, that 4th isn't even gonna think about touching a generator. He just goes off and sits on the opposite side of the map waiting for him to die so he can take the hatch.

This is the sorry state of end game we're in.

  • Basically all those people have mentioned. Spirit is probably the most addon dependent out of them all, but she can still function at a high tier without any it's just much more difficult compared to the others.

But his point still stands. Unless a sleeping survivor finds an awake survivor to do the wake up action, failed skill checks to wake up basically means the survivors are creating their own pressure. This basically HELPS Freddy. You are missing the point. Between SC or getting to a gen to fail a skill check that is extremely quick and easy. That pressure being created is extremely small. Not to mention if he just runs into someone as well. The whole reason his pressure isn't great like it's supposed to be is because it is too easy to wake up. Of course it "helps" Freddy, it's not absolutely NOTHING, it's just nothing significant enough to matter, much less make up for his blaring weaknesses.

You're missing the point in how much of a stall this causes. To sacrifice 7 seconds for it is more than worth the stall it can cause. Most other killers don't have that stall and can't end chases quickly in a consistent/reliable manner. The ones who have the second attribute (Huntress, Billy, Hag, Nurse) are above him for sure (Myers is debatable at this point since he can be so cucked by map design). The ones who can't end chases quickly are the ones who need some kind of stall yet don't have it. Other than the other 5 I named, the only ones close to him are Doc and Spirit. Doc's stall is easier to get out of than Freddy's and doesn't do as much, whereas Spirit is so add-on dependent that her ability is inconsistent. Freddy isn't a godly killer, but he's better than the majority of the cast by default.

You are way over exaggerating how much stall that causes. Sure if they are being ######### an sitting there in a ball so you can just tap them all with it that's great, but that's not reality. It is also sacrificing way more than just 7 seconds. You are simply weighing the cost of clicking his skill, you're not weighing the weaknesses he takes on for that "strength". If you think Spirit is anywhere even remotely in the same universe as Freddy you are sorely lost. Spirit is top tier and is extremely consistent even without addons if you actually know how to play her. Freddy may be good for you at rank 20 but he is not that good at rank 1. I have played my P3 Freddy with all perks in the game at t3 unlocked at rank 1 on every reset since his release and I have over 2,700 hours in this game, I have quite the understanding of what Freddy can and can't do.

In my 1450ish hours playing this game and having played Spirit since her release, she's nowhere near top tier. The top tier killers are Nurse and Billy, maybe Hag. I play literally every killer at rank 1 (not like rank matters that much tbh), I think I also know what I'm talking about. But okay, man, keep underrating Freddy. People like you are why BHVR wants to rework his power, which will absolutely nerf him.

If you don't think Spirit is in the top tier you just don't know how to play her. That also isn't just my opinion, look at most peoples rankings. It's a pretty unanimous opinion of her being there among the player base. People like me are also NOT why BHVR is reworking his power. I don't want him reworked at all. He only needs some tweaks.

I’d be devastated if he were reworked too much.

Pretty much (with the exception of Billy) all killers labeled as “hard” are exactly that, hard to use/learn/apply effectively. But once learned they are killers that have the biggest payoff

    My thoughts as well

Agreed. It's good, but not good enough to warrant the downsides they put on it.

So, I have to run around the map doing gens, avoiding your ruin, avoiding your hits, your camping and tunneling yet I manage to finish all 5 gens but door needs to be nerfed because... I haven’t earned it?
you got a lot of perks to help you gain advantage once all gens are finished, make better use of them. They even give you an opening time for gates that you can still alter with such perks but then again I should spend even way more time doing it so you can have a free kill. How about earning something once in a while?

I could literally take this entire shpeel and replace gates with the hatch. You think the hatch is "earned" when 3 of you died while failing to do your objective and the 4th guy escapes for free?

  • Something needs to be done to slow them down.

Killer wins and the survivor gets a hatch free escape.
Survivors win and open the gates insanely fast...gate is also survivor sided.
Both outcomes favor the survivors whether they are losing or winning.

Honestly the gates need to take longer, be kickable to regress and eventually re close after a set amount of time and be forced to re open them.

If you are on the opposite side of the map the far gate is literally open before you get there even if you B-line it straight there as fast as you can.

There are many very useful and beneficial threads but they get lost in this mess unfortunately.

I do know stuff like @Nickenzie 's threads gets washed up in a sea of complaints, when the stuff he has proposed would be amazing for the general QOL of the game.

I can't take all the credit, some of my ideas have been inspired by @weirdkid5 because I REAL feel like his suggestion will work to be honest!

    SWF Changes:

Basically, we need two party queues for the solos and SWF. SWF cannot join solos queues and vice versa to keep things simple. Solos will have an easier time reaching their pip zone while SWF will have to do a little more to reach theirs because they are expected to do better with voice communication. The killer will be rewarded with more BP whenever they are going against a SWF to compensate for the potentially increased difficulty.

Done and queues will remain the same as normal because we aren't directly splitting the player base in half.

Can the killer choose whether they go into the SWF or Solo que's and are they both ranked?
