People continue to post about it because it continues to never be addressed by the devs.
We need a separate ranked and unranked que. SWF only in unranked. We would obviously still need ranked rewards though.

There are a multitude of good reasons he camped with BBQ.
BBQ didn't show anyone.
He only uses BBQ for the blood points.
It was a DS user.
He was tbagging.
The survivor is flashlight flicking/taunting/farming.
He just wants to get 1 person out ASAP, 3 is way easier to manage than 4. -

He is the only short killer in the game with a reduced terror radius and normal speed, allowing for looping mindgames as well.
The "Worse Wraith" mentality is absolutely ridiculous and you're clearly playing him incorrectly. You don't just sleep and chase. Then, them being asleep has no benefit to you. Mess with them. Sleep them and let them struggle. Only chase when you're absolutely certain that is what benefits you most right now. "PEOPLE WHO ARE ASLEEP HAVE REDUCED ACTION SPEED AND UNLESS THERE IS AN ALLY IMMEDIATELY NEARBY THEY NEED TO HARM A GENERATOR OR THEMSELVES TO WAKE UP" Not a single person is "forgetting" this, it's quite obvious. You are just completely ignoring the fact of how easy it is to wake up..which is VERY easy.
But his point still stands. Unless a sleeping survivor finds an awake survivor to do the wake up action, failed skill checks to wake up basically means the survivors are creating their own pressure. This basically HELPS Freddy.
You are missing the point. Between SC or getting to a gen to fail a skill check that is extremely quick and easy. That pressure being created is extremely small. Not to mention if he just runs into someone as well. The whole reason his pressure isn't great like it's supposed to be is because it is too easy to wake up. Of course it "helps" Freddy, it's not absolutely NOTHING, it's just nothing significant enough to matter, much less make up for his blaring weaknesses.
You're missing the point in how much of a stall this causes. To sacrifice 7 seconds for it is more than worth the stall it can cause. Most other killers don't have that stall and can't end chases quickly in a consistent/reliable manner. The ones who have the second attribute (Huntress, Billy, Hag, Nurse) are above him for sure (Myers is debatable at this point since he can be so cucked by map design). The ones who can't end chases quickly are the ones who need some kind of stall yet don't have it. Other than the other 5 I named, the only ones close to him are Doc and Spirit. Doc's stall is easier to get out of than Freddy's and doesn't do as much, whereas Spirit is so add-on dependent that her ability is inconsistent. Freddy isn't a godly killer, but he's better than the majority of the cast by default.
You are way over exaggerating how much stall that causes. Sure if they are being ######### an sitting there in a ball so you can just tap them all with it that's great, but that's not reality. It is also sacrificing way more than just 7 seconds. You are simply weighing the cost of clicking his skill, you're not weighing the weaknesses he takes on for that "strength". If you think Spirit is anywhere even remotely in the same universe as Freddy you are sorely lost. Spirit is top tier and is extremely consistent even without addons if you actually know how to play her. Freddy may be good for you at rank 20 but he is not that good at rank 1. I have played my P3 Freddy with all perks in the game at t3 unlocked at rank 1 on every reset since his release and I have over 2,700 hours in this game, I have quite the understanding of what Freddy can and can't do.
-
This idea has been beat into the ground too many times already. It's a dead horse. I don't think Ghostface would fit DBD at all.
-
+1 my exact thoughts on her addons as well. The addons are hardly noticeable. I usually just default some of the grey ones.

It's either dependent on rng to wake yourself up or requires another person. And as Freddy, you should be trying to keep everyone asleep as much as possible, then you go and chase others. His power is a stall power, people really need to learn how to use it. And if you think it's too easy to wake up, run Green Dress (the yellow add-on). It's one of his better ones.

Freddy's power causes a huge stall if used correctly. As stated above, you need to have multiple people asleep at all times. If all you're using his power for is to start a chase, then you're not playing Freddy correctly.
" It's either dependent on rng to wake yourself up or requires another person"
Yes and those rng chances are quite high and easy to get. I run the dresses regularly and it is still extremely easy to wake up."His power is a stall power, people really need to learn how to use it."
His power is for stalling and also for micromanaging...this is just kind of obvious. This isn't something people don't know or don't do.I have my Freddy at P3 with all perks in the game tier 3 and at rank 1 every reset since his release with massively more hours than most people. I say he's weak not because I don't do well with him, I regularly 3 and 4k. The difference is being able to recognize if your wins are because the killer is strong or if it's just because the average survivor is bad and in this case it's the latter.
Literally every killer other than Nurse will lose if the survivors are good enough. And we never said he's top tier. The average survivor sucks, so would that mean every killer sucks? Because they're only getting 3 or 4k's against them?
RNG chances are.....well.....rng. Modifiers might not seem noticeable, but there is still a modifier. And it's hard to really notice it because you only notice how much the Dress add-ons help you when they actually fail a skill check, meaning they got lucky with rng.
Not gonna lie, I have some games where they wake up in 10 seconds. I also have games where it takes them 2-3 minutes to wake up due to ######### rng or being put to sleep while healthy in the endgame. It can happen more often than you'd think
" The average survivor sucks, so would that mean every killer sucks?"
Not every, but yes, "most" are quite weak."Because they're only getting 3 or 4k's against them?"
The kills they get has nothing to do with what i'm sayingEverything else you said is basically just agreeing with me and simply a reiteration of what I've already said. My point is that he IS very weak and generally as weak as people say he is. "Most" killers are heavily abused by competent survivors, the difference is that he is punished even more heavily.

Like everyone else has said, he's a disaster of a design.
If he uses Frank Mixtape he's broken and also boring as hell because there's no skill or counter play involved on either side.
If he doesn't use Frank Mixtape he's complete trash and Freddy tier. Somehow they thought chasing someone down as a huntress with no hatchets to down someone was viable.
Then we have the third way where they just Feral Frenzy hit you and then follow your blood. No skill involved on either side and zero counter play.
He's left in a state where it's not fun to play as or against him and if you actually try to play him as the devs intended without Franks Mixtape or using the "follow the blood and stare at the ground cheese strat" he's just completely and utterly unviable.
The devs need to somehow fix the cheesing following the blood strat and simply give him full 115% move speed. This leaves his Feral Frenzy as simply a way for creating pressure and slowing the survivors down. It now gives them incentive to heal because he can actually just M1 them if they don't. His Feral Frenzy also doesn't last long enough to run around spreading the Deep Wounds how they intended.
Unfortunately he's probably going to be left in this terrible state for at least a year from now when they finally decide to go back and rework him again. It would be nice if we just actually released killers in a good state to begin with so we could stop with all these future reworks.
-
I feel like they're really trying to move away from as many licensed killers with how little control they have over them in terms of future cosmetics.

The word "currently" doesn't imply there was anything before, it simply is saying right now.

I'd like some small buffs for Pig but making the traps more lethal isn't the way imo. If anything let's make Rule Set #2 baseline or maybe a guarenteed no key always on the first box. (...)Her biggest issues aren't her traps though, it's her crouch and ambush. She needs a higher view point on crouching and the sound on her ambush needs to be removed. (...)
Other things I'd like to see are the penalty on Amanda's Letter removed.
These are all good points. I don't agree on the removal of the "warning sound" of the dash attack, but besides that, it's a very nice summary of what should be done.
Why does it need the sound then? Survivors should have to open their eyes and be looking around just like against a Myers tier 1.
Tier-1-Michael is way slower than a dashing Pig so the chance of escaping is different.
Yes, survivors can keep their eyes open but that doesn't help in that kind of situation if they are on The Game, Lery's or on a gen surrounded by jungle gym walls.
In these scenarios, the Pig can get so close to the survivor that despite the warning sound, they can still land a hit.
If the Pig is close enough that you can't outrun the ambush then YOU really f'd up and weren't paying attention to begin with.
Yes, that's the point of the ability. Get so close to the survs that they can't outrun the ambush.
And a surv can't necessarily always see the Pig. If there are walls, there are walls. Survs don't have wall hacks. The Pig has to make use of these situations.
Exactly my point. Which is why the roar noise isn't needed.

Not to mention if it really bothered them that much they could simply run Premonition or Spine Chill and negate her stealth entirely.
Part of the sound is from the movies, the roar at the beginning. But yeah, the roar takes out ALL the sneak factor so when I find someone on a Gen I just stand back up. I got 2 grabs doing that in one match, on the same person

The theme of it is all it has going for it. The fact that uncrouching to simply M1 is the optimal play style just further illustrates how weak the ambush is.

First, that would just make it a better Dead Hard.
Secondly, if ANYTHING Sprint Burst should be nerfed, not buffed. It is already insanely strong and your change would make it completely broken.

I have no issues playing nurse however i think her addons make her completely broken so i play without them. Dont complain about gen rush if nurse can prevent it if she played right complain about weak killers ask for their buffs dont ask for gens getting longer to fix
Because there's 14 killers in the game and we shouldn't all have to play the same one just to feel remotely powerful in an asymmetrical game.
1v4 only works when the 1 has as much or a bit more power than the 4 and they have to use numbers and coordinate to defeat the 1. As it stands a good killer is usually about as powerful as 2 good survivors (when they don't mess up) when it comes down to perks and abilities in looping etc. Nurse is powerful because she can negate loops, pallets and windows and zip across the map faster than anyone else, not because she's balanced. She sits outside of the normal rules of the game when her ability is used appropriately.
Every other killer is still playing a 1v4 match and so should be strong enough to perform handle that, not left behind with "just play the nurse" as the excuse. Right now, most of them aren't even close and using them is pretty much asking to have a really rough time. Again, unless the survivors you face end up being incompetant.
(Edited to fix a spelling issue)Yeah a lot of the killers could use some buffs, including making them way less addon dependent. In the dev streams they keep conflating us asking for most killers to be rank 1 viable as we want all killers to be a nurse level of powerful which just isn't what we are saying.

@Blueberry no I wasn't thinking. I dont rage when I lose this bad i just get lose all will to play for an hour or two. I turned the system off and typed out this rant to make myself feel better 😂I don't know your situation but you can also just keep pumping blood points into Wraith if he's your main so you always have a steady supply of good addons as well. This is basically what I do with Spirit. I have a stack of almost 100 prayers beads and close to that with Eboni Mori's and the rest of her very-rares/ultra-rares. I still think Wraith is lower mid tier because they didn't do much for his base kit, but they did make his addons very strong which can bump him up a lot as long as you have them.
-
It's hard not to get angry at those matches, but just remember the game isn't balanced around swf. They are essentially having access to much more than 4 perks each. It's the equivalent of you using speed hacks. Trust me it tilts me to though, there's just not much you can do.

@KingB said:
@Blueberry yes I'm at rank 1.Then yeah that's just how it goes my man. We could take a look at your games of course and see how good you are doing at your mind games but what I said is still basically the case. Especially as wraith, you're in for a rough time. This is of course barring exceptions like using really strong addons etc, we're speaking an average game. Do you have recordings?
-
At rank 1 there is nothing you can do. You either play some of the few killers that can "semi" get around it like nurse, billy, spirit or you lose if they're good. Unless you're playing those exception killers, you RELY on survivors making mistakes and capitalizing on those mistakes to win. If they don't mess up, you lose. That's why generally if both sides are played perfectly you will lose every time. You can try and get better at your pallet mind games but there's only so much you can do if they don't fall for it. There's also a tonnn of just plain safe pallets and ones that aren't mind gameable that you just have to eat the loops. This is why people are upset with the games imbalance at rank 1. I'm assuming you are referring to at rank 1 anyway. If this isn't at rank 1 then you can definitely get better at your mind games. At lower ranks they are definitely messing up a lot for you to capitalize.

Yeah were basically allowed to do nothing but agree with each other. The PC culture of today at its finest. We can't get a snap shot of the forums opinion on anything now without reading through pages of comments. The Vote Ups are meaningless without a negative option to counter balance.
The problem is that some users were (ab)using bots to make that negative option meaningless by spamming it on everyone whom they didn't like. It has nothing to do with "the PC culture of today".
A small minute fraction of the playerbase that was used as a reason for punishing the entire player base..no that was not a good reason for doing away with it. We've already been through this on another page, drop it, we're not going to agree here.
It wasn't a minute fraction, which the mods have already said.
It WAS a minute fraction, which the mods DID already say.
Regardless of what you believe, the minor inconvenience of having to read comments to know if people agree or disagree is worth the trade-off in helping to keep trolls and bots off the forum.
You are way understating the value of having both agree or disagree options on topics. I think it isn't even remotely close to being worth that trade off. It's also not just an inconvenience of reading comments. Many people will not comment at all because of the added work of posting or that just don't like to post on the forums. You will be getting a much larger and more accurate sample size from an agree or disagree one click option.
Except you won't be, because of the bots making the feature useless with their spam. Even assuming the bots were a minority, when bad behavior goes unpunished, it spreads like cancer. The bot problem would only continue to grow. This way, you get disagreement in a way that is actually conducive to discussion, as opposed to making a single click and providing zero useful feedback.
" Except you won't be, because of the bots making the feature useless with their spam'
That is an extreme minority and hardly an issue even worth weighing in"Even assuming the bots were a minority, when bad behavior goes unpunished, it spreads like cancer."
This is like saying some people stab people with pens so we should ban pens. That's how ridiculous that is. How about we actually solve this rationally and actually I don't know, crack down on bots? Seems much more logical"This way, you get disagreement in a way that is actually conducive to discussion, as opposed to making a single click and providing zero useful feedback."
This is undervaluing a much more large and accurate data set or the times when comments are locked such as patch notes where agree or disagree are the only choices. -

Camping and tunneling is not being toxic, it's a strategy. Also, lagswitching is VERY rarely actually happening. It's usually just normal lag and you can see the pings going in.
-
I agree with all except 2 and 3. Instead of 2 what I think is that we need Rule Set #2 to be baseline. 3 we don't need because the issue is the broken hatch end game system, not a problem with the traps.

Legion for both. Either he has Franks tape and you get downed with no counter play or he doesn't and just follows your blood. Both requiring no skill on either side and both having no counter play.
Other than Legion I hate playing against Billy's. He isn't punished enough for chainsaw miss plays and the chainsaws reach/maneuverability feels VERY forgiving. When you go down it just feels..cheap.

+1 would be a super nice quality of life change

On a similar note, aside from a few exceptions I feel like most the killers ultra rares are quite underwhelming which is why most killers best addons are their very rares. A lot of the negatives attached to so many of them need to be removed. They're ultra rare, they're supposed to be good. Most the negatives are just way too overbearing for what you get. Also quite a few ultras that should be just in base kits as well like Rule Set #2.

Most the people who don't think Freddy is bad play at low ranks and don't have very many hours. Their lack of experience influences their opinion.
cough cough
He IS underrated.
This picture shows nothing to contradict my statement.
It shows triple-prestiged Freddy on Rank 4. The prestige is mostly to show that I invested into him, not just by Bloodpoints, but also by play time.
Unlike what you claim, some people here who think that he's not bad actually do play him on high ranks and do good.
You know, just because you yourself can't pull it off, doesn't mean others can't as well.
I have played my P3 Freddy with all perks in the game at t3 unlocked at rank 1 on every reset since his release and I have over 2,700 hours in this game. I think I have a better understanding of Freddy than you think you do.
"Unlike what you claim, some people here who think that he's not bad actually do play him on high ranks "
If you really think this I will gladly link my pageThen I really don't know what your problem is. I'm doing fine with him, obviously you should too if it's true what you claim.
Git gud issue?
Also, again assuming everything you said is true, then you should realise that any rework will quite likely hamper the potential he currently has.
You can't really say "Git gud issue?" when you aren't even at rank 1 with him much less hundreds of hours at rank 1. The difference is I've played him enough to know when you did well because he's "strong" and when it was really just because you had a group of dumb survivors that made a lot of mistakes. I do well with him perk less and addon less quite regularly but that doesn't mean he is good or better than people think he is, it just means the average survivor is bad and you are conflating those 2 things.
I care to disagree.
And regarding that Rank thingy. I didn't have a screenshot of Rank 1 with him, it was the only screenshot I had at hand.
I'm not saying you have a git gud issue, just that it sounds like one. There's a difference. I may not have hundreds of hours exclusively on him, but I'd say more than enough to also know where my skills lie.
Well I've explained why he is weak and we just disagree. Agree to disagree I suppose.

I can definitely pass on ideas @Blueberry hence I pay a lot of attention to the Wishlist & Fan Creations sections of the forum. (am actually moving this to the Wishlist section now as well, forgot to do it earlier!).I really like the ideas of different types of "glow effect" depending on the level of Devotion, I'd be quite particular to some blue shades for one of the levels. At least it will feel like you got something for Devotion then as well.
Thanks for the response! It means a lot to the community seeing yalls involvement on ideas

I'd really like this to stay in the game in some form as well - I love the effects. Not sure if a rank reward is the right way to go - but I'd love to see it as a Devotion reward of some sort.Devotion reward would be awesome as well! Maybe acquiring different colors of the glow the higher devotion you get.
Out of curiosity do ya'll strictly just mediate the forums or are you able to see ideas like this for example and pass it on to the team?

I think they can implement this as a rank reward and as a cosmetic to buy.Rank reward should be different and more glorious imo.
To give themselves less work to do and make rank rewards they just need to make the rank rewards be cosmetics they already have for sale but just with an exclusive color tint. Super easy and hardly any extra work, just a recolor for a rank reward. They could even sell the glow from the event in the store but make one color variation of it only available as a rank reward. Essentially letting them double dip on their work.

Literally the complete opposite. They learned nothing from Hallowed Blight and did the exact same problems again except now it's on the killer side.Would you care to elaborate?
Imbalance of tokens and blood points for the sides which is what's causing the imbalance in the que times. Secondly, they added an extra objective for the killer to have to go and find the correct lanterns after their hooks. In the games current balance where killers already don't have enough time for their objective there is no time to spare looking for the lanterns after each hook. This is also compounded by all the pressure you lose on the survivors by going for the lanterns. Meanwhile survivor doesn't play any differently and essentially just plays like normal to reap the rewards.
-

I like using them as a rank reward better. They wouldn't waste enough time as an added objective. The plants we had during Hallowed Blight are what we should add as another objective for survivors. Make them like oil cans or tool boxes you have to go through to work on gens.
-
The blood point gains especially as killer are abysmally small, I wouldn't even call it a 1.5 bonus. They should at least highlight the lanterns for the killers after hooking. It's bad enough already that the killers don't have extra time for a side objective of hunting them down.

If you don't give them a free unhook, it's camping.This ^ basically
You'll get called a camper or tunneler no matter how you play, it's just salt.

The perk is fine. 25% is a huge regression already and combine with other generator affecting perks that number goes up.If it was fine people would use it. They don't. There's a reason.
There are plenty of perks that a perfectly fine that don't get used. Just cause people aren't running it en masse doesn't mean the perk isn't fine. Pop is a good balance of strong gen regression without being abusable. Things that are in balance aren't exact what people in DBD want. Hook a survivor and then have a reasonable time limit to pop a gen? That isn't what people want. What people want is took kick a gen into space. As a killer main, I'd love to do that, but I'm not gonna say Pop needs a buff when it doesn't.
"What people want is took kick a gen into space"
This is just nonsense like the people saying all killers want is a 4k"Just cause people aren't running it en masse doesn't mean the perk isn't fine."
There is a reason people barely run it. It isn't that good.People aren't playing it not because it isn't blatantly OP, you are misconstruing. It's because the value you gain from IF you can find a generator on time isn't worth losing your pressure on the survivors. The cost is higher than the gain.
