You didn't explain why she is weak or why her perk is weak so I can't take you seriously.
I didn't go into detail because knowing Plague is weak is already pretty universally known by most people and it has already been explained why she is weak many, many times on the forums.
They don't cleanse.
You never get your Corrupt Purge.
You're now just an extremely loopable M1 killer that never gets to use her power.
Being 1 hit down is irrelevant when there are more than enough pallets and windows to end the game before they run out.
That's the TLDR quick summary.

Nah they are of course not the exact same thing. But the comparison fits in my opinion. Killer mains crying out because something of their side that was incredibly powerful got nerfed to be more balanced to play against. At least I just don't see how Nurse is in any way bad now. I believe Nurse will still be very powerful.
"because something of their side that was incredibly powerful got nerfed to be more balanced to play against."
This is why I don't think it fits. This is not why they are complaining.
You're simplify their dislike for the change down to a: Me play killer, me no like killer nerfs.
That isn't what's happening.
They are complaining because they think the nerf went too far and is killing one of the few red rank viable killers we have. If you disagree that's fine, but that is why they aren't similar scenarios.
The Exhaustion nerf was pretty universally understood as a necessary change and "most" understood how completely broken it was before. That nerf was also very minor in the sense that Exhaustion perks are still crazy strong.
It's also more severe because survivors were already in a strong spot before that Exhaustion change whereas killers in "general" are not in a good place right now. It's kind of like kicking a dead horse.
-
"I just want to remind you of the survivor mains outcry when the exhaustion nerf happened."
These scenarios are not equivalent in any shape or form so you know.
-
Maybe I'll be surprised on the PTB but my first impressions have usually be pretty accurate. She is losing A LOT of her map pressure and if she misses a blink she is punished extremely hard. This is compounded by her extremely slow movespeed that required her to use her blink for normal mobility, something that won't be nearly as feasible with a charge system now and even limits her immediate threat if she does use it for mobility.
-
That's why I don't think it's worth running. It really should let you have both totems.
-
It just needs its numbers increased and to include dead survivors. That's it.
-
If they also gave her that movespeed increase then yeah she might be alright. However, that remains to be seen. I think without the movespeed increase she is looking very rough right now. Either way she doesn't look like the top tier killer anymore.
-
I agree. Destroying the totem should just stop any future stacks but prior stacks should remain in effect.

There isn't a very good track record for improving things for the better coming out of PTB.

I didn’t realise they removed her blinks because that’s the way you’re making it sound.
I think that the 3 second recharge on her blinks is VERY substantial.

Weak killers are no reason why the devs shouldn't look at killers that are too good, and in the Nurse's case, the devs agreed that she needed a small nerf. I can't imagine this change hurting Nurse too much in any way, all killers should be brought to a similar power level, not just the weaker killers.
I'm more looking at what the biggest issues in the game right now are.
Nurses power level while possibly too high isn't anywhere near the top of the list for main issues in the game right now.
Where in contrast a vast majority of the killer roster being too weak is an actually larger issue the game is facing right now.
I'm just referencing the order of doing things should be different.
-
It's just first impressions as we haven't tested it yet, but she honestly looks dead to me...like not even A tier strong anymore.
Their priorities should be a lot more focused on bringing the weaker killers up to par right now than nerfing the stronger ones.
-
She just dropped WAY down on the tier list.
She's probably not even A tier now looking at those changes.
Just first impression though.
-
Ruin isn't even good, it's just the best option killers have. It definitely doesn't need nerfs. Only thing it needs it improved totem spawns.
I want punishments for DC's but that's a little too extreme imo.
Everything else looks good.
-
It's because there's quite a few perks that are just way better than all the alternatives.
I wish the meta would change a little as well but that's up to the balance team to make happen.

You have an option. Leave them or wait. If you wait the full 60 seconds to open that locker then you were DEFINITELY Tunnelling, which is where DS comes into play and should work as designed.
And if you are complaining that it's a waste of time, there is at least one other Survivior on the map, let that guy go, let his Decisive run out, and go after another dude. If he's the only one left what's such a waste of time about 60 seconds in front of a locker. There's no pressure on you, just wait.
You would not agree with that if you played killer at rank 1.
"And if you are complaining that it's a waste of time, there is at least one other Survivior on the map, let that guy go, let his Decisive run out, and go after another dude."
This is a lack of understanding in how killers have to maintain map pressure in the game. You can't just find a random survivor and decide to let them go and aimlessly go look for another survivor. We aren't talking about green ranks where you have 20minutes to take a stroll around the map browsing the aisles.
You cannot afford to let pressure die.

What about in the endgame situation where it's eat ds and escape hit bt and escape or get hit by both
+1
They should deactivate once gates are powered. There is very little counter play here.
-
You mean the Plague has no real counter to survivors right?
They don't cleanse.
You never get your Corrupt Purge.
You're now just an extremely loopable M1 killer that never gets to use her power.
Being 1 hit down is irrelevant when there are more than enough pallets and windows to end the game before they run out.
Plague needs buffs.
-
With the amount of advantages you gain from SWF and communication it's the equivalent of the killer running speed hacks. Would you want to play a game against a killer that's cheating? Me neither.
The game isn't balanced around SWF which is why I view them synonomously.

Not taking that bait, but nice try.
When you only play at low ranks you wouldn't.

Unfortunately for you, you don't get to dictate how I write my comments. If you think it's inappropriate then report it. Otherwise worry about yourself.
You started a conversation with me.
You don't start a conversation with someone and then tell them to mind their own business. If you don't like my opinions then mind your own business.
If you actually get to rank 1 on both sides you will understand this games balance a little more.
-
Plague is weak and needs buffs.
None of her addons are anywhere near "OP".
Infectious Fright is also a weak perk.

Please find me a quote where the devs said DS is only to be used for anti tunneling purposes.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/741470#Comment_741470
When you offer up an intelligent change for the perk I'll be sure to do just that.
""DS becomes deactivated once the survivor is fully healed or hiding in a locker. No more abuse of DS."
Or touches a gen and we have a deal."
I already had.
If you don't think so you can do that without backhanded sarcasm.
-
@xEa said:
How to change DS:
- DS only lasts for 20-30 seconds. No more "I was not tunneling" excuses.
- Once the unhooked Survivor gets downed by the Killer within the 30 seconds, DS becomes active and stays active until the killer picks up the survivor. No more slugging and playing around DS.
- When picked up, the Survivor faces a difficult skillcheck
- DS becomes deactivated once the survivor is fully healed or hiding in a locker. No more abuse of DS.
Simple and effective changes, for both sides very fair.

The locker play isn't broken.
If they hop in a locker then it's clear bait. If you take it, it's your own fault. And if you have to wait the full 60 to open that locker than you most definitely were Tunnelling the poor sap.
"If they hop in a locker then it's clear bait."
Duh.
"If you take it, it's your own fault. And if you have to wait the full 60 to open that locker than you most definitely were Tunnelling the poor sap."
You have no choice here, eat the DS or waste 60 seconds.
Also no, that isn't always tunneling. If I down someone else, hook them and then you're just sitting on a gen, just to jump in the locker next to it when I'm come close, that isn't tunneling.
Once any other person goes down you have not been tunneled.
-
I agree completely.
"DS has slowly become an "invulnerability" perk, used to perform really risky plays that wouldn't work without the use of this perk"
This is the issue. It's an invulnerability window instead of an anti-tunnel perk currently. It is being abused in its current state. 60 seconds is way too long.
It either needs to last 40 seconds or deactivate when a different survivor goes down.
The locker play is also pretty broken.
-
With the exception of certain killers and certain situations, killer is not even close to the power role in this game.
-
Now that I think about it I'd rather keep it as not a 1 shot, but just make it easier to land. IE give it some curve control like Billy's.
-
I think he needs the slow window vaulting from his gas returned and to turn the blurred vision intensity of his gas up tremendously.
Tbh you could even put his Redheads Pinkyfinger into his base kit.
-
He's better than half the killers but honestly that's not saying much seeing as those are all pretty bad.
I'd put him slightly above average but still weak. Against good survivors he still turns into a semi M1 killer and we all know where those killers go.
I was probably being overly generous with a 5.
-
Most balanced killer in the game imo
-
We should be a lot more focused on buffing the weaker killers than worrying about the higher ones.
Imo Spirit is the most balanced killer in the game and the level they should be aiming all killers for.
-
Because they aren't. They're quite bad.
-
"sweat drenched killers?"
I really hate this phrase. There's nothing sweaty about anything you've described. Calling that sweaty is complaining that they aren't dumb and playing weak killers.
You see less of the top tier killers now because those players got tired of being forced to play the same killers for 3 years if they want to win and left the game.

I’d probably swap NOED for Iron Maiden in a basement build, especially as he already has an instadown anyway (Iron Maiden is purely to make sneaky basement saves difficult because of the notification)
That's a fair swap as well.

Yeah pretty much. But same goes to Ruin and over half the people at high ranks use that.
That isn't the same at all.
If you lose DH early you gained nothing at all.
Even if you lose Ruin early you still got maybe a 1 minute of worth out of it which is still substantial hence why they run it.
-
Agitation, Iron Grasp, Insidious, NOED.
It's about the only thing he's good for.

Most of the time I can get at least one exposed hit off, but I guess that’s just me.
It depends on your rank as well.
At low ranks sure, they don't know what they're doing and you probably will. At high ranks you will lose that totem instantly in most games.

It is a guessing game, cause you dont have any information on what is happening at all.
Guessing is implying it's a total throw of the dice of which I do not agree. It isn't a random 50/50 he may do that or he may do that.
When you play against enough Spirits and even more specifically see how the one in your game plays you can tell there's a 70% chance she will do this and a 30% chance she will do this. Your skill also comes in when making jukes. You see her stop to phase, you start running and then slow walk a different direction or fast vault and then slow vault back over quietly. There are lots of skillful counter plays to be made.

Because it has the strongest effects in the entire game. Do you think it’s too high?
It's generally just going to be a meme/fun perk, it's very rarely ever going to actually assist you in winning.

You cant outplay Spirit cause its just a guessing game. If you guessed right, you didnt outplay her, you were just lucky, that she wasnt that much of a deal, cause highrank spirit wont lose a chase, cause they have information about the survivor, but not the other way round. this guessing game from survivor perspective has absolutely nothing to do with skill or knowledge.
It isn't a guessing game at all, it's playing the game long enough to know what they are going to do and predicting it. This is exactly how I find people when they are running iron will and are completely silent, I predict their movements. You learn quickly from a chase what kind of player or killer they are and react accordingly.

Yeah, I have come to that conclusion too after seeing how many people start there topic with YT videos. At high ranks, if you play anything then the top 4 Killers, you are setting up an uphill battle for yourself. No "ifs" "ands" or "buts". Go play Clown at Rank 2. Go play Wraith or Legion or Doc... or you know, anything but Nurse, Billy, Spirit, or maybe Freddy at a high rank....
People complain they ever see anything but those Killers at high ranks. Then people turn around and complain that they should be nerfed. Do you want no Killer to be good at Red Ranks?
I'll admit, I only play Killer. I honestly hate playing Survivor cause it's boring to me. But Killer seem to be stress filled messes. It's honestly painful to try and shift between the two utterly different feelings of each side.
Survivor is boring cause there is no threat really. Killer is stressful because you have to fight to MAKE a threat.
Shouldn't that be enough of a glaring, neon sign of "SOMETHING IS WRONG!" ?
It should be but they cater to the majority of the player base and that isn't the red ranks.

Thank you for agreeing with me. It seems very obvious to me, and when I see people claim DBD is in a "Killer Meta" right now my brain just explodes from the sheer ######### that statement creates.
There's just a lot of people on here that only play one side so their perspective can be very clouded.
I don't like to bring up rank because it triggers a lot of people but it is a big factor when we talk about balance. If someone only plays killer up to say rank 10, then they're going to think killers are crazy strong because they 4k a lot. The issues aren't as apparant at low ranks because the players are bad enough that a lot of mistakes are being made and you can play whatever and still do well.
When you start getting into the red ranks is where the mistakes become much less common and the issues of being reliant on mistakes for certain killers starts to become an issue.
It's extremely rare on here to find anyone that actually plays both sides at rank 1 and still believes killers are anywhere even close to the power role in this game. You only see these opinions come from the people that don't play both sides at high rank because they haven't experienced the issues we talk about yet. Then they watch some youtube videos and think they understand the games balance.
-
Sounds like a great idea and I totally agree. Currently Deep Wounds and Mending is extremely underwhelming and near worthless for something that's supposed to be a detriment.
-
While I do appreciate the new graphics, the game does need a lot of its atmosphere brought back IE fog/darkness.
-
@UlvenDagoth said:

Which... in a 1 vs. 4 game that's kinda silly. It really feels like the team has all the power, not the lone wolf, most of the time. It's weird you only hear about the Killers that are a challenge on here (normally, I've seen Nerf Legion and Nerf Wraith threads here...)
90% of the Killers are doomed if a team is firing on all cylinders. Even if they arn't, it takes alot of mistakes for Killers to get ahead alot of the times. Some of the Top Killers need TWEAKS, not nerfs. Alot of the other Killers need buffs.
Yeah they honestly shouldn't even be touching the higher killers right now. While they may warrant a couple tweaks, buffing the weaker killers to get them up to par should be such a higher priority at the moment.
-
She's one of the few killers like Nurse who doesn't rely on survivor mistakes to win. This is viewed as not fun from a survivor perspective. Ironically that's the viewpoint you have when playing the other 90% of killers that do rely on survivor mistakes.
The difference is even though Spirit doesn't rely on mistakes that doesn't mean you can't outplay her, it just requires a lot more skill and game knowledge. The average player finds it easier to come to the forums and complain than to try and learn and adapt. Unlike playing the other 90% of killers where it doesn't matter how good you are, if the survivors don't mess up you still aren't winning.
-
So far the connections seem good, just a bit longer of que time waiting for a lobby than on P2P.
-
I actually haven't really been seeing that many Spirits and extremely rare to see a Nurse these days.
