Her add-ons are fine. Make Prayer Beads an Ultra-Rare and make Father's Glasses a Very Rare. That's all she needs.
+1 All she needs if anything

It also shows the crazy 80% survival rate at rank 1.

What makes her unbalanced is her beads, not her base kit. If you can't run Iron Will, it's not our fault. Plus, Clown got a better cosmetic.
I don't think her beads are unbalanced. It's a very rare, it's supposed to be good. I could see an argument for making it an ultra-rare though.

Yeah that's something to consider. I just watched the Clown video, and on top of mistakes he made that he even admitted in the comment section, the map is also huge and had that ridiculous window loop. Devs have confirmed they are working on map reworks, so that will hopefully not be a problem anymore in the future, which would have given him much more of a chance to win that match. Heck, if map reworks are good enough, even killers like Clown won't need any big buffs. Instead, some of the top tier killers, Nurse, Spirit and Hillbilly will most definitely need some small nerfs, if maps indeed become smaller and have more mindgameable pallets. Maybe even Freddy and his snares, though I don't believe so.
That's why I also hope the devs consider survivors as well when reworking maps. Pretty sure they did say they wanted to have more pallets on a map in general, just less safe ones and more mindgameable pallets, but I hope that the devs will buff the survivors juking and stealth potential on maps a bit as well.
I think the new map is a good example of map design I like. "Most" of the pallets are decently mind gameable, there's a lot more stealth options for survivors and stealth killers are actually more viable here.
Less pallets/more mind gameable pallets/vastly more stealth options for survivors
Those are what the map designs need. I also don't mean just hiding from killers when I say stealth, I mean even like fog/darkness/reeds/bushes/boxes massively increased so that you can make jukes mid chase if you were skilled enough. We want survivors less reliant on pallets and windows so that we will be able to weaken them as currently they are too reliant on them to survive.
It's hard for me to be too excited about map reworks though seeing as at the rate they are going it would take us YEARS to rework all the issue maps. That's also assuming all future maps are okay.
As for the Clown video, the big issue is that even if he had made none of those mistakes that he pointed out, he STILL would have been lucky to kill just 1. That's a problem.
-
The perk is literally still S tier and probably in the top 3 best survivor perks in the game.
If ANYTHING the timer should be slightly reduced.
-
Yeah I sincerely think they need to be more focused on bringing a lot of the other killers up to par rather than worrying about any nerfs at the moment. The game would be a lot more enjoyable for both sides to see more variety of killers being played.

75% of the killers? That seems a bit much. Which killers do you mean exactly?
For me the low tier killers that could need some buffs are Legion, Trapper, Wraith, Doctor, Clown and Leatherface. Maybe Ghost Face, Pig or Myers, but not sure about that. They seem alright.
With vastly different varying degrees of how much of a buff they would actually need, I would include everyone except Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Hag, Huntress and maybe Freddy. All the other killers are quite weak.
Keep in mind though that most of the weak killers are weak because of bad map design. If all the maps were properly reworked a lot of them might not need anything.
-
The killers only seem strong because you're new. Stick with it a while and you'll start to do a lot better as you get practice.
-
She isn't unbalanced and that doesn't break the event.
-
This is why you don't see Clown in red ranks typically. You can apply this to like 75% of the killers as well though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhhpvy04ng8As he points out there a few things he could've done better but regardless those mistakes wouldn't have changed much.
-
Love it!
-
It is decent in that scenario.
However, keep in mind that apple is just 1 pool of which you have to waste time going to pick it up, so you probably aren't in a chase already. Now after you've picked it up and given them a global map que that you did so, you NOW have to find them. If they are even half intelligent they will wait it out and play a little stealthier for its duration. Now it did nothing.
Realistically it won't be enough to make much of a difference even in those circumstances.

Again like I said it's not that strong of a perk to cause Exhaustion. It's literally a meme perk.

That said, I think the Exhaustion cooldown on it could be lessoned.

Really!? Hang on ... I thought he sucked, ... im gonna try him now using only that method.
That's the funny part, the best way to play him isn't how the devs intended him to be played. Which in itself says there's an issue with his design.
Similar to the issue with Plague.
He still isn't like a rank 1 viable killer but he's definitely near the top of most the mid tier killers.

Doesn't his stealth power lower his speed?
No.

It isn't even that good. Hence why at high ranks you almost never even use his stalk and just use his power for the zero TR.

I'd rather have the obsession give you stacks as well instead of it being active after the obsession is dead. I think it's fine that the perk deactivates as soon as the obsession is dead. Killers always gain quite the advantage as soon as one survivor is dead.
Thana also shouldn't count dead survivor in my opinion. Just better values for repair speed. The way it is now doesn't reward you in any way for tunneling, if anything the perk rewards you for not tunneling. I would like that to stay that way.
Both of those changes would work as well.

@Rivyn said:
Want to make M1 killers more viable? Fix maps. Second would be gen speed. Either add another objective, or decrease the amount of three and four man gens that spawn.
Yeah, there are a lot of balance issues in the game but almost all of them stem from extremely bad map design. If the maps were properly fixed a lot of the other "issues" might not be a problem anymore.
Problem is how long that's gonna take. With how many maps there is we're looking at yearsss to finally getting the problem turned around and that's assuming ALL the rest the new maps coming out are alright.
-
Dying Light just shouldn't deactivate if the obsession dies, you should just no longer be able to get stacks.
Thanata just needs better numbers and should include dead survivors.
-
The game definitely gets less fun the higher you get with it peaking in the red ranks. This is partly because of how the survivors treat you, but also because you can no longer reliably play the weak killers even if you find them more fun and you get forced to play more viable ones. This is strictly on killer however.
Oddly enough the games get more and more fun the higher you get on survivor. This is because your main limiting factor is your bad teammates and the higher you get the more reliable your team gets.
Killer gets harder the higher you get while survivor gets easier. Quite odd.

Neither do I, really. I should clarify, the point I'm trying to prove is not that BBQ should be nerfed in some way. I was talking to someone who insisted that almost all killers use it for the auras and don't really care about the bloodpoints, and I told him it was the other way around. So I'm gathering evidence to back up that claim.
Oh I definitely would agree even without seeing this poll that most killers use it for the bloodpoints. There are some killers that the aura reading is extremely good on, namely high mobility killers. However, I would be dropping it from most my killers if it didn't have the blood point component and I think most killers would as well.

@brokedownpalace said:
In certain circumstances I would. And I bet a lot of people saying no actually would as well. It's like hard camping or teabagging. Everybody likes to act like they never do it but secretly many do.
I think the problem is that the poll is getting a lot of people who play at lower ranks where the SWF groups aren't really an issue as well.
Although the devs always did intend to have the SWF option in the game, it was never actually balanced around it. This is why I don't view SWF as any different than a killer using speed hacks. Yes one is allowed and the other isn't, but both are forcing you to play an unfair game that isn't balanced. So although the intentions are different the end results are the same. You also know that if the survivors could see ahead of time that the lobby killer they had was a speed hacker they would all dodge as well. That's kind of the point I'm coming from.

That's what I told the person I'm trying to prove a point to, lol. But he insisted that everyone uses it for the aura reading and doesn't care about BPs. Hence the poll.
I voted for the BP's primarily but I also don't see any reason to remove the aura reading from it. It even encourages "fun" game play by getting the killer to leave hooks.

The biggest gripe I have is "the mindgames" at pallets. I put this in quotes because the Spirit player isnt losing anything by just standing there watching. Its up to the survivor to simply GUESS at which point the killer stopped standing still. Thats not a mind game, thats a guessing game.
Beyond that, lemme ask what you think @NuclearBurrito. If a Wraith could simply run up to a survivor while cloaked, thereby having the extra speed with the cloak, and hit them without ringing the bell first... would this be fair? Thats pretty much what happens with Spirit, except theres no shimmer.
"I put this in quotes because the Spirit player isn't losing anything by just standing there watching."
She is losing A LOT when standing there...TIME. Something the killer already doesn't have enough of.
"Its up to the survivor to simply GUESS at which point the killer stopped standing still."
It's also on the Spirit to "guess" where you are moving when she's phasing as well. I put "guess" in quotes because I don't consider it guessing, it's reading survivors well enough to predict their movements.
-
That's A LOT to talk about.
Might be better to narrow it down to one killer at a time.
-
It's one of my favorites maps as both sides. Really strong for stealth killers but I also think there are a ton of nooks and crannies for survivors to hide as well. I don't see why anyone would dislike it.

Mainly the Infinites of Misery one?
There's that one but many more as well.
Their issue is also related to poor map design though so if the maps were reworked properly a window change might not be necessary.

I'd much rather just get a Hallowed Blight skin for each of them though.

I highly disagree, fast vaults are already very limited as to what the requirements are and the momentum change is still horrible
Windows can still be abused in their current state to waste way more time than they should be able to.
-
If anything windows and vaults are still too strong and could use more nerfs. Definitely not revert to what we had before.
-
You could do absolutely nothing all game but hide in a locker and let everyone else die so you can just walk out or take the hatch. Is that a fair strategy to be selfish? Totally. Would it be deserving of a pip? I don’t think so. I think the better question would be if it should be possible to depip when escaping.

You make a lot of assumptions for someone who claims to play at Red ranks.
I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I know many people here and in other Discords pretty much universally agree that killers like Trapper, Wraith, Plague, and Leatherface and underperforming and need buffs.
I've been pipping/double pipping at red ranks with Wraith and Legion and do you know what I see? I see terrible survivors who don't know how to loop properly, make dumb altruism saves, and constantly make stupid mistakes that cost them the game. Or they do something incredibly cocky like they all rush for a basement save against a killer with Save the Best for Last or NOED and 3 people get downed.
You said you play solo survivor? That will make a huge difference in your success rate. I have a SWF group that I play with occasionally. Myself with 1.5k hours, one with 3-4k, and others with over 1k hours. We can pull off a 4-man escape at least 90% of the time, regardless of killer or perks. The only games where we don't is when one of us makes a bad play, or the killer snowballs too hard, or we piss around and don't do gens. When I play solo, I usually get creamed by the killer because people can't loop, or don't do gens, or I ######### up and it costs us the game because my teammates can't pick up the slack.
M1 killers are not viable at red ranks. The main problem is SWF, but a lot of it comes down to S-tier perks being stacked and godawful map design, too. (Seriously, please, BHVR, can we get a new map designer? Pretty please?) A 4-man solo with experience and coordination can be just as scary as a 4-man SWF with comms and full loadouts. The fact that you never see these players just tells me that you don't play killer at red ranks.
+1
Saved me the trouble of having to type it.

At low rank where people don't know how to loop properly, sure they should probably heal because they don't know what they're doing.
However, at high ranks where people actually know how to loop well, the entire team not cleansing is the best choice. This is because 1 hit from going down and being noisy is not nearly as deadly as giving her Corrupt Purge.
She's considered weak because even though she has a 1 hit down in that sense, she is extremely loopable. She now has absolutely nothing to help her counter looping and her large size makes it easier than most killers in a world where it's already very easy to loop. There are more than enough pallets and windows to have all 5 gens done and still have some left.
Yes when you finally reach them it's a one hit down, but because you're being looped so much you have very little map pressure whatsoever. This means you are getting gen rushed like mad which is exacerbated even more because they aren't wasting any time healing at all.
The little extra stealth breaking component of them being noisier is "something", but for the most part quite irrelevant because like I've said, at high ranks they know how to loop, they don't care if you know where they are if there's a pallet or window there.
I'm not saying she's trash, she just isn't a rank 1 viable killer. She relies on survivor mistakes to win.
Also, she loses any "fun" potential because since no one cleanses, she never gets to use her power other than the first couple minutes of initially infecting people. Your forced to play a boring game of just walking around and hitting M1. This is why barely anyone plays her.
If staying injured is the most viable strategy and this essentially doesn't let her even get to use her power it shows how her design is flawed. A killer that doesn't get to use their power isn't good. She needs changes that make survivors want to cleanse. I just think maybe a small repair speed penalty while sick and broken would fix the problem.

How the hell would that work when lockers are near buildings/jungle gyms/ and other walls...
Is pennywise suppose to make every survivor go near a locker just to be able to use his ability?
How is he suppose to chase and protect genes with that dumb ability lol
How is that good? Seriously explain this ...
It was explained if you read it.
"It's kinda like a trap set on a certain number of lockers"
"How the hell would that work when lockers are near buildings/jungle gyms/ and other walls..."
That's literally the entire point. He can preset locations to counter future looping. The lockers have visual indicators that they are trapped prior.
"How is he suppose to chase and protect genes with that dumb ability lol"
You mean besides the obvious fact that there are lockers by almost every single pallet loop and gen? This shouldn't need explaining.
-
He's gonna travel between the lockers and if you walk to close to one he can grab you and drag you inside. It's kinda like a trap set on a certain number of lockers and once grabbed inside your trapped in there for a set duration or until another survivor comes and gets you out. Your aura will be shown to your teammates to come get you.
One of his ultra rares removes the aura showing to your team so they have no idea what locker you're in unless they can visibly see the locker in front of them. In return it has the downside of a reduced duration that your locked inside before you can bust out.

Yes I agree survivors were op at the beginning, but that’s not nearly the case now. They can’t just keep nerfing survivors and buffing killers the scale will never be balanced at this rate.
Survivors still are the power role by quite a bit. If you play killer at rank 1 you'll see what I'm talking about.
