Average in this game means "very laughable". So for Freddy being slightly above average means "less laughable".

Allegory of the typical killer.
Freddy is clearly above average now. Slightly, but above anyway.
The games current "average" is extremely weak and not rank 1 viable.
-
The matchmaking system has been bad, that we can agree on.
However, killer being easy at rank 1? Not even remotely.
The game has been since release and still is quite catered towards survivors. This is the opinion held by most players who actually play both sides at rank 1 and with a good amount of hours into the game.
-
That's why most people that complain about palllet looping aren't just asking for them to be removed. What most people want is heavy map reworks to make less pallets/weaker pallets more viable and where the survivors aren't so reliant on them.
-
The hatch system is the equivalent of if the killer didn't kill a single person all game and the survivors are running out the exit gate the last one will just fall over dead. He completely lost the game but he needs a freebie. Sounds stupid right?
-
The fact that they are doing it makes me believe Pennywise is coming. If they had just left them alone no one would have thought anything of it.

Don’t quite see why the ranks I play at matters currently but green because I refuse to have long queue times.
And no, longer insta heals don’t give easy wins because there are so many ways you can use them incorrectly or to where they won’t even have much of an effect that it’s basically just used for bm at that point.
Saying insta heals can't give easy wins because survivors can misuse them is like saying mori's aren't good because killers might be too trash to be able to hook a survivor one time to even activate it. That's just an illogical argument.
I mention rank because no one that plays at rank 1 has these opinions that you have.
-
@aazimuth said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/719689#Comment_719689
Hello?? The only thing CLOSE to mori's are keys and even then the requirements for keys are much greater and only a maximum of 3 (which is still very rare) can escape before all the gens are done. Mori's can guarantee a 4k at 5 gens and have no counter whatsoever.
Insta heals can give easy wins just like mori's can. Neither is an auto win though.
What rank killer and survivor do you play at?
-
@aazimuth said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/719667#Comment_719667
You won't even find THAT many people who are really good at the game in red ranks but okay. The only thing that exists in red ranks are sweaty people from both sides, they don't use them correctly anyways. Insta-heals are not a problem when instadowns exist but hey what do I know.
If you wanted to argue an issue with mori's that is a conversation that's reasonable, but none of the 'instadown" perks currently in the game are anywhere even close to overpowered at all.
Mori's are the equivalent to insta heals, not Exposed perks.
-
You've actually got this completely backwards.
Survivors have been receiving nerfs because survivors have been the power role by far since the games release and still are. These nerfs have been "slowly" trying to get them more balanced.
Also, devs play both sides a lot. We have the balance issues we have because most of them don't play at high ranks to understand how bad the balance actually is.
-
@aazimuth said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/719639#Comment_719639
??? Insta-heals literally won't win you the game unless the killer is really bad, they're entirely situational and most the time just end up being used to troll rather than actually giving you an easy win.
If you are playing an M1 killer they can. You aren't realizing how much time and pressure he loses on that insta heal.
"they're entirely situational"
There is literally zero situational factor to insta heals at all.
"most the time just end up being used to troll rather than actually giving you an easy win."
This is because they aren't needed with how strong survivors currently are.
Are you playing killer at rank 1? You will see this if you are.
-
I actually think he's more like a bad Billy. He does almost all the same things Billy does but just worse.
His lunge is extremely easy to dodge and the recovery time is too long imo.
While Billy's "lunge" is slightly slower, it's a 1 shot and you have much more control over it including the "flick".
Don't make Demi's lunge have more control or be a 1 shot, but man that cooldown needs to be much shorter at least. He's currently extremely loopable. ( it's currently also not breaking pallets properly when lunging at them from an angle )
His addons are also quite lackluster. All the ones with portal effects are just bad and his ultra rares are quite dissapointing. For Leprose Lichen to be decent he needs to be able to look around during his portal travel. Red Moss needs the negative effect removed and to have it also hide the "scream" that tells you when he's using a portal. Is that too strong? No, it's literally countered by having eyeballs, cleansing portals and actually paying attention to your surroundings. If that is asking too much from survivors then we got bigger problems to worry about than this addon.
Oh and lastly, increase the range on the killer instinct detection by a few meters and make them activated for the killer on placement, but only visible to survivors once he's used them once.

And insta-heals are a one time use while things like iri heads, killer abilities that have the exposed effect, some other addons/perks last all game. Not to mention insta-downs are way more common compared to insta-heals which doesn't even include people using insta-heals correctly because a lot of people will go down right after.
This is because getting one down doesn't win you the game but one insta heal can, they are not equivalent.
"some other addons/perks last all game"
While being highly situational and having big requirements to even use.
"Not to mention insta-downs are way more common compared to insta-heals"
Because they are not equivalent, as I have said. Insta healing is much more impactful on the game than the 1 hit downs. 1 down =/= 1 heal
"which doesn't even include people using insta-heals correctly because a lot of people will go down right after."
This is a pretty pointless statement. You don't decide something is weak because of people being stupid and using it incorrectly, that just doesn't make any logical sense. At high ranks they use things to their full potential and aren't wasting insta heals on stupid moments where they would have gone down anyway. We balance around things being used correctly. You don't balance around assuming someone will be dumb and use it incorrectly.

Billy and Leatherface dont require a lot.
Devour Hope is easy to get 3 stacks.
Myers can get Tier 3 insanely fast with the right addons or a crazy team mate who doesn't break line of sight.
Ghostface can easily inflict exposed.
Noed is only countered if the team are smart enough to cleanse 5 totems before they do last gen.
Also as for the insta healing items these are very situational too and can only be used once.
You were talking about perks, not killers.
Leatherface is also just bad and not worth mentioning.
"Devour Hope is easy to get 3 stacks."
Devour Hope is a "fun" perk, not a good one.
"Myers can get Tier 3 insanely fast with the right addons or a crazy team mate who doesn't break line of sight."
And still completely loopable, making it irrelevant. Plus if he got T3 that much/fast you or team was playing just badly.
"Ghostface can easily inflict exposed."
And still completely loopable.
"Noed is only countered if the team are smart enough to cleanse 5 totems before they do last gen."
Complaining about NOED because the team was too lazy to cleanse totems is just ridiculous. Completely and easily counterable.
"Also as for the insta healing items these are very situational too and can only be used once."
There is zero situational factor to insta heals. Are they injured? Click, spacebar, healed.
None of these are rational arguments.
-
Quite weak.

So are 1 shot downs from killers but they still exist. If those items get nerfed so should noed and killers with abilities which can do this.
All the 1 shot downs are highly situational and require a lot.

Yeah I think first is Haddonfield.
That said, like 75% of the maps still need heavy reworks. Very few are in a pretty good state.

I'm more around a 70/30 survivor main currently, but I would argue (MOST) killers don't HAVE to use add ons. I've seen plenty of Hags, Spirits, Billys, Nurses, Myers, Ghostfaces, Huntresses and other killers stomp teams with no add ons, and in some cases, no perks
Keep in mind people smoke their whole lives and don't get cancer. That doesn't mean smoking doesn't cause cancer.
Just because you can get 4k's without addons, doesn't mean most killers aren't addon dependent.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Killers are getting more BP, but they have to keep spending more on their bloodweb for add-ons. There are items for survivors. I can just farm from chests and keep it most of them if I escape. No need to spend more BP for items after I get enough perks I needed.
Rework WGLF or boost survivors BP someway are welcome cause I play 50/50 both.
This is actually a very good point.
Functioning killers have a lot more play cost in having to use addons up every game which is something the survivor don't have to worry about. On top of the fact that survivor can actually keep getting more items in game whereas the same can't be said for killer addons.
Higher Living Expense = Higher Salary
Matches real life pretty closely when living in somewhere like San Fran for example.
-
Well said, +1
-
90% of my games DS activates, it's still imo too strong.
As killer I always assume every single survivor has it because at rank 1 that's usually the case. If it's not all 4 it's 3. Basically the same scenario as BT, you always assume they have it because they usually do.
-
Because if you're going against competent rank 1's that don't mess up, 75% of the killers have no counter play.
-
I think Demo could use some buffs, but I don't think his issues are where you're placing them.
He should be able to look around and move his camera when traveling through portals. Remove the negative on Red Moss and make it also remove the scream sound when he travels through portals. Lastly reduce the recovery on missed lunges seeing as it's extremely easy to dodge and isn't even a 1 shot.
-
I think the only really issue with DS now is that it's supposed to be an anti tunnel perk but it still punishes lots of killers that aren't tunneling because of how long it lasts.
It either needs to deactivate if a different survivor goes down or reduce the timer to 40sec instead of its current 60.
It's currently just a 1 minute immunity perk.

thats a good addition, i like it!
though, i doubt someone suiciding on the hook cares about his BPs...
That's true but I think it would at least reduce it a decent bit.
-
I also think they should move more survivor BP's into the struggle phase to further incentivize not killing themselves.

Just because they hide, doesnt mean I cant find them
If they aren't going for objectives and they aren't complete idiots, no, you generally won't.
-
We've been waiting 3+ years for rank rewards that are still not in sight and should've been in the game on release.
-
For killers that need start up time to set up like Hag or Trapper etc. sure it's decent.
In general though for most killers it's pretty awful.
The reason is because any competent group of rank 1's will just wait out the timer without even going for the few gens available then that perk literally did absolutely nothing but just make the game start a couple minutes later essentially.
-
The gates should be closer together.
-
I thought this was bait.
The perk isn't even good. It actually needs serious buffs.
-
So survivor shouldn't be able to tunnel gens then either right? Not fun for the killer having them pop so fast and end the game before he has a chance to play much. You have to switch gens every 15% so you aren't tunneling them, sounds fair? If you do you get banned.
You realize how ridiculous this sounds right?

Been playing for close to 2 years. Rank 1 killer and survivor every month, within a couple days of rank reset if I play enough at the beginning of rank reset. Never fall down to rank 3 if I'm actually trying (not meme'ing).
Sorry, but if you actually deserve to be a rank 1 killer, you wouldn't feel like you are getting bullied in any game. If the survivors have time to bully you, you are doing something wrong.
It would be nice if ranking was a better indicator of player skill, because there are so many killer players who think they are better than they are. Don't get me wrong, there are even more survivors like that, but there is much more whining from the killer side (on this forum).
I don't believe you are or you wouldn't have the ridiculous opinions you have. This is common knowledge agreed upon by the majority of the rank 1 community with even a decent amount of hours into the game.
-
The difference in power level between killers is very large.
A large portion of the killers are rarely seen (more so at high ranks) because they are just too weak.
-

If you are getting bullied as killer at any rank, that's on you (yes, even as a lower tier killer). Once I learned how to play killer well I never, not even once, felt like I was being bullied, or that I couldn't have won the game (no matter which killer I was using). The only thing that pushes some games out of reach are the terrible maps. Getting huntress on haddonfield is a death sentence. Yet, if I get the same survivors on a different map I will probably win.
People who aren't as good as they think they are just want to perform well against players better than them, and nurse/spirit allows that. That's why you see so many nurses and spirits.
This is a statement by someone who doesn't actually play killer at rank 1 to understand what we are talking about. When you play killer at rank 1 for a while you will understand.
-
I just want a new rank 1 viable killer

Pretty sure they're not making maps at the moment because they understand most maps need to be worked on. Seeing as how that's the case I'm positive it's gonna be an original killer. I'm ######### praying Pennywise is never added to the game....It's an eldritch god not a slasher killer.
As much as I do like new maps, we do have MANY older maps that need serious revamping badly.
-
If you want less Spirit/Nurse advocate for the lower tier killers to get buffs.
Survivors bully the weak killers and then wonder why all they get is Nurse/Spirit.
Many killers play Spirit/Nurse because she's one of the few actual viable killers, not just because they want to.
