Killer mains want the game balanced around good survivors.

On this forum people tend to think that every single rank 1 game goes like : killer chases 1st survivor for 3-5 min , said survivor does perfect loops around every single pallet on the map , and by that time all 5 gens are done . But in fact it's never like this unless killer is a potato . I could agree with that back in 2017-2016 (although we still managed to get 4k against 'optimal swf team') . But right now saying something like this is a biased bs
"On this forum people tend to think that every single rank 1 game goes like : killer chases 1st survivor for 3-5 min , said survivor does perfect loops around every single pallet on the map , and by that time all 5 gens are done ."
I disagree. I don't think the majority of people on here think like that at all.
There are a lot of potatoes at rank 1 but when you actually go against non potato survivors the games balance issues show. They want the game balanced against good survivors, not around assuming most survivors will play dumb.

2.4 k hrs , playing both roles , and I think killers exaggerate a lot about how powerful survivors are .
p.s. link to my steam account is in my forum profile if you don't believe me .
That's pretty odd then as most anyone that plays both sides at rank 1 with lots of hours would disagree with you on that.
Survivor is by far the power role in this game and that shouldn't be the case in a 4v1.
-
Because you havn't played the game enough yet to understand the games balance issues. That's why the killer complaints seem confusing to you.
-
I don't really see the issue.
Yeah you get potato teammates quite often but that doesn't stop me from surviving and pipping in the vast majority of my games still.
-
Furtive Chase was bad before Nemesis came out and it's still bad.
Nemesis also isn't good itself anyway.
-
I'm more bothered by the Oni's perks.
Zanshin Tactics is a trash perk. There needs to be additional effects on it. You could just remove the cooldown effect on it and it would still be trash. This perk will never be ran. Very disappointing that a new perk was wasted on this. Maybe every time this goes on cooldown all other survivors suffer Oblivious for 20 seconds.
Blood Echos concept is a good idea, but the perk is just very bad. Hemorrhage is on the borderline of worthless, so the perk is basically Exhausted for 45sec on injured survivors. Is Exhausted effect on injured survivors every time you hook for 45sec worth a perk slot? Not even remotely. Replace the Hemorrhage effect with something not worthless like Oblivious. Now that would actually be decent. If that's too much maybe even Blindness instead.
Nemesis is the one most people think looks good but outside of a meme build this perk isn't good either. It needs more.
-
He's just a worse Billy imo. Not even top 5. Doesn't need nerfs.
-
I think you are sorely confused on the games balance currently. The survivors still are very much the power role and playing survivor right now is quite too easy. Most the killer roster is relatively weak and needs substantial buffs.
-
Survivor perks aren't bad but the killers ones are just pretty bad.
-
Underperforming imo
-
DS and BT are leagues above most the other perks, like S+
-
Personally my favorite map on both sides and one of the most balanced ones imo
-
Surge needs to work on all downs, not just basic hits and remove the cooldown on it.
-
No, wanting to tunnel has absolutely nothing to do with why people want changes to do DS.
It's supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk and it currently is not. It's a 60 second immunity perk.
It needs a shorter time and to deactivate if a different person is hooked.
-
There are multiple perk counters but since people hate hearing that for some reason I'll keep it to base kit. Just keep your eyes open and then pallet loop, that's it. It's literally the exact same counter as almost every other killer except keeping your eyes peeled a little more because of no terror radius.
-
One of the best designed maps imo.
Less safe pallets, more hiding places.
-
@Peanits said:
I know this isn't a very serious thread, but let's try to turn this into something constructive. How many average kills do you think something should get per match before you consider it to be overperforming? We can talk specifically about red ranks if you prefer.
Kills shouldn't be used at all because there are way too many factors unaccounted for that are artificially making those numbers look higher than they actually are for determining balance.
-
Myers overrated.
Hag overrated. This does not mean she's bad at all, I just think she's generally considered better than she is. I also think it's quite weird that people put Hag as underrated when the vast majority of people think Hag is indeed top tier.

That's my issue. The lunge is VERY situational. People know how to deal with it with no worries, that's why they're running to places when the lunge is useless. Portals won't help me during the chase. They barely help, to be honest. So during the matches I feel like I'm just the basic M1 killer
Basically yeah.
He feels like an M1 killer with some extra map pressure from portals. His attacks are just overly telegraphed and the window for outplaying it is very large with heavy penalties for missing.
-
I personally think he's weak and quite easy to loop. People will talk about how his lunge cuts off loops but even as survivor his lunge is highly predictable and too easy to dodge. I simply think he needs to have more control on his lunge similar to how billy can flick the direction a bit at the last minute. I also don't think the increased recovery on his missed lunge coming out of PTB was warranted. His lunge is currently very high risk for little reward and in most cases isn't worth using.
This is why I don't think you see Demi very often even though stranger things is very popular and a lot of people like him thematically.
-
All killers P3 with all perks at tier 3
7 survivors P3 with all perks at tier 3, the rest at 50 and a couple P1 and P2

If you can utilize the right perk combos and add-ons than you can be viable at Red Ranks with said Killer. I do it with Wraith, Pig, I've even done it with pre-rework Freddy!
If we're talking base-kit than no, but I wasn't talking about base-kit.
Being strong and being viable are two different things yes, but they sometimes do go hand and hand. For one, nobody at low ranks who plays Spirit is playing her to be viable... they're playing her because she's strong and the "SS Tier" Killer. You don't need Spirit to be viable at low ranks... yet a fair bit of people are playing her because of that reason.
And yes, she's one of the most viable killers at Red Ranks... that's kind of why they should idk... buff the other low tiers?
It's good we see eye and eye on that main point at least.
Also, about Freddys dream snares
Dropping the pallet early will not stop him from downing you... you can loop around the pallet all you want, but if he can drop snares to shorten the loop or force you to sit at the pallet and vault it over and over, than that's not a "counter-play..." that's a dead end.
Snares have no cooldown, they have no draw backs, they don't really have a counter except leaving the loop when he drops them... but than he can just follow you after doing that... and than the snare is left there for the next person to be hit by it and be downed.
Not everyone is going to drop the pallet early or leave the loop when he's using his dream snares though. And if they do, they'll still get downed regardless.
but
This isn't why I made this post, to talk about his power, so we'll leave it at that (I hope.)
"nobody at low ranks who plays Spirit is playing her to be viable... they're playing her because she's strong"
That is a good point and I would agree.
Relating to Freddy though, even if that scenario happens you are still wasting quite a bit of his time. The goal isn't to escape, the goal is to waste as much time as possible. You will go down eventually. How short he can make that time is one of the reasons he's one of the more viable killers.
Anyway, I don't want to distract from your posts main topic. It's a good one I think the devs need to see.
-
"But again, any Killer can be viable with enough skill..."
Your entire basis many including myself would disagree with.
Also, people do not play Spirit a lot because she's strong, they play her a lot because she is one of the few rank 1 viable killers. That is very different.
People also don't play strong killers "because they have no counter play", they simply play what's viable.
Many things you say don't have counter play, indeed do have counter play. Freddy's Dream Snare counter play is the same as against a clown, you drop the pallet early.
Regardless of all the statements I disagree with, your main premise:
"buffing Killers that're hardly ever used anymore in high ranks or even low sometimes would improve the overall diversity and health of the game for sure."
I do agree with. There are a lot of very weak killers that currently need buffs and that would increase the diversity we see.
-
I wish we were still able to down vote it

The devs have clearly shown that the vaulting mechanic is intended to be the same on every killer. Speed is dependent on the killers unique ability, which is why it varies. Vaulting however isn't reliant on anything about the killer. Which is why all killers share the same vaulting animation now. It's a good thing though, because now Spirits can't stand still and think they're good at the game for doing literally nothing.
"The devs have clearly shown that the vaulting mechanic is intended to be the same on every killer."
No, they did not. They intended for it be as it was on Spirit in the beginning but now they decided it was too much. They never mentioned a single things about intending for vaults to be the same on every killer. We even literally have a killer that changes his vault speed in the form of Myers.
"Speed is dependent on the killers unique ability, which is why it varies."
Just like their vaulting.
"Vaulting however isn't reliant on anything about the killer."
This is just simply incorrect. Myers T3.
"Which is why all killers share the same vaulting animation now."
They do not.
"It's a good thing though, because now Spirits can't stand still and think they're good at the game for doing literally nothing."
If you actually played Spirit at any relevant rank and with any relevant amount of hours you would not think this.

No it isn't. You're comparing unique powers specifically made for every killer to a shared mechanic that every killer has and uses.
Killers are meant to be different. Whether that's related to their power, their vault, or their run speed.
By the logic you're using all killers should run the same speed as well.
-
@deadbyhitbox said:

Difference is that this is a shared mechanic between EVERY killer. Powers are entirely different from a built in mechanic of the game used by every killer.
That is irrelevant.
-
I think you're vastly underestimating how big all 3 base kit nerfs she received are.

when have they stated that? if it was true they would not use it
They posted it on the forums a while back when people were bringing up their statistics they posted to make points.
"if it was true they would not use it"
This is exactly the issue most people were taking with it. They were using the statistics to reference why certain killers needed possible nerfs but when we referenced the data for why other killers based on those statistics needed buffs they discredited the data with what I said above. Obviously this is quite contradictory which is why people had an issue.

lol youre just saying killer’s powers, which makes them different. Vaulting isnt part of a killer’s power, so why would it be different?
It has nothing to do with if it's part of their power.
-
It's complete trash now. You'd get more value out of her regular addons reducing her cooldown and power activation speed.

It always seems like they overcorrect and then take an absurdly long time to tone it back afterwards doesn't it?
Pretty much. I'm much more quick to have a jaded attitude towards them about it when the same thing has been happening for years now with seemingly not a single thing learned.

I have no idea why they touched all the other addons as none of those were anything people complained about.

@Blueberry The percentages on the Amulet confuse me a bit. Can you explain it in simple terms. Like how much slower will she be?
You originally gained 10% now it gives -15%.
So now using the amulet compared to using it before, you will be moving 25% slower.
You also lost all power recharge increase.
I honestly can't see any reason you would ever use this addon again. It just looks awful. Much less for supposedly being a purple.

What changes? I'd like to hear your point of view. In my opinion, she seems... ok.
Other than the prayer beads, all of them.
I don't believe Spirits base kit or other addons needed to be nerfed at all.
-
My interpretation of how they said the rest of the events would be was that they're going to be all quite boring from now on like the Withered Blight.
I could see the rational of putting that time more into game balance if many of the recent balance changes they had made weren't terrible.
-
I could be okay with prayer beads changes even though I think they went too far and just made it complete trash.
The other changes are completely unnecessary. My opinion.
-
Can we stop referencing "over performing" data that the devs themselves have stated has many flaws and should not be used in terms of determining balance.

By their standards they probably think Wraith is over performing as well.

Thats the thing, she doesn't have tells. And I am not asking for her to scream "PHASING IN 3,2,1..." just something where if you are looking at her, you can tell she's going into phase (not that she's actually phasing mind you, going into it).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/835282#Comment_835282
Then prove it exists. Because it's not in the code of the game
It has been shown in multiple videos where it was tested.

They ALL have a vault animation, except Spirit. You can say oh only Trapper can put a trap down! No #########? That isn't what is being discussed.
You are discussing things that make killers unique. Be that a power or a vault animation, there is no difference.

Yeah the Amulet is complete trash now.
It has nothing to do with the reasons why people disliked Spirit at all, terrible change.
