All new people would be at rank 20. From what I know you can't go down past 17
You can, it just takes progressively longer as you lose fewer pips at lower ranks

The demogorgon is very tall, but in the trailer, he goes on all fours for a couple of seconds. Maybe you will be able to enter a stealth mode somewhat like the pig, making mindgames easier.
While it's hard to base killer stats and features off of cinematic trailers (Pig's for example) I have a feeling the Demo will be the first killer that can move at full speed while crouched. However to compensate for it, he will have a transition phase similar to Pig unlike Ghostface who can crouch at will
Maybe he'll even run faster in crouch speed I mean he should since he's 4-legged. It would be a great way to move around the map at the cost of maybe not getting a hit due to the transition phase
Anyway I'm pretty happy he's super tall and he is a proper monster

STRANGER THINGS is a brand-new Chapter for Dead by Daylight that features a new Killer and two new Survivors. The Entity descends upon the midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana as Stranger Things, the critically acclaimed Netflix Original Series, enters the realm of Dead by Daylight.
Yep it looks like he has some sort of TP power judging from a screenshot of him emerging from a hive
-
I have a feeling it may be a sprint killer which would be a huge waste in my opinion. Especially since sprinting isn't exactly the best power a killer can have
I am curious if he can crouch as the trailer showed him going from on all 4 to upright. It could be a really neat feature even if it's similar to Ghostface

Perfect build to troll Green Paint Nea Squads
Demo mori, Franklins, Overwhelming Presence, NOED, Haunted Grounds
Man it's going to be so great to see those Immersed P3 Clauds who never freaking help you get their head bitten off

Demogorgon is not a creator, their species are subservient to the mind flayer via a hive mind (which the entity Also has with the auric cells) the entity has grown strong enough to take a creature and insert its self in it's hive mind, (we actually finally can play the entity even it it is technically controlling a separate body lol)
There's an interesting detail about the Demogorgon's bio in the trailer's youtube description
"The Chapter introduces a new Killer and two new Survivors to the realm of The Entity: the monstrous, otherworldly Demogorgon is the new untamable Killer. Against it stands not one"
It mentions that the Demogorgon is "untamable" which could mean that the entity actually has no control over it. Which leads to the second point "Against it stands not one-" from this description it definitely sounds like the Demogorgon has full control over its actions and is not being controlled or piloted by the Entity
From what I'm guessing the Demo may be the first third party force in the game. If not it's possible the entity just lets it be and simply drops/lets it into a match every now and then

Only problem with a Xenomorph is they can't be controlled. Having the entity control them would clash with the theme of the series, so the "Lore" would have to write it away as the entity only has control of where it's at so when it wants it to go in a match it just places it/lets it in
Even then seeing the hook mechanic could never work with a Xenomorph. Unless BHVR goes the extra mile and adopts a unique mechanic with the Xenomorph. Perhaps instead of hooks the Xenomorph simply drops the survivor by an egg and once they've been dropped 3 times the equivalent of being hooked 3 times, the sacrifice animation is a Facehugger jumping on them.

Here is my suggestion...
Since it looks like the release of the new Chapter will fall near the rank reset of September.
Maybe BHVR should look at skipping this one....
Please don't put the seasoned players back down in the new player zone so we can trash all the new people you hope to bring in during that time.
Or maybe set the lowest limit to rank 15.. so no one can be reset below 15.
Just an idea.
Bloody heck I just realized that
There's already going to be enough SWFS and killers de-piping around the time the DLC releases so they can bully and get footage for their sick looping/frag videos
Rank reset is going to straight up murder them all hard

I don't trust myself to make balancing decisions so I'd just focus development on fixing bugs, improving optimization, fixing the killer FOV which has been broken for years and then make Shadowborn a default stat on every killer but Nurse and Spirit.
Also improve animations especially for Survivors their faces look so bloody weird
-
Oh yeah I mean this is huge. Its hard to say how many players will be retained once the hype has died down and people play the game. However I can easily see thousands of new players being retained across all platforms. Plus in a few months when DBD does another free weekend the knowledge of a stranger things DLC is going to cause even more people to give the game a chance and thus keep the retention going.
A similar thing happened with me and the Halloween DLC. I'm a fan of Halloween and the knowledge he was in there was enough for me to give the game a chance and ultimately retain me
Now BHVR. How about a Godzilla dlc?

This tweet in question has a comment from Carrie Henn saying "yaaas!!?"
Carrie Henn is the American Actress who played Newt. This means that an alien game is in the works but I'm pretty sure it's not by the ones who did isolation.
If you do a little digging you can see snippets of early gameplay. I saw a clip of 2 people getting chased by an alien through some vents, the first guy got away by hiding in a locker and the second guy got caught by the Xenomorph.
It looked very similar to isolation but it looked as if it's multiplayer, surviving with friends against the alien or aliens. It's something which exists but they've had some delays.
A sequel to Alien Isolation was just released
It was a mobile game, that's likely what you just saw. It's called Alien Blackout. Don't look it up, only pain will you find
-
I noticed something interesting about the description in the trailer
"The Chapter introduces a new Killer and two new Survivors to the realm of The Entity: the monstrous, otherworldly Demogorgon is the new untamable Killer."
It sounds like the Demogorgon doesn't obey the entity and is pretty much out just for itself. The first third party force in the game
So I guess the entity treats it like an animal/force and just lets it in the matches. Perhaps it won't even hook survivors
-
Honestly I don't mind about this Battle-pass or Lore stuff, its completely optional. The reason why the BW grind sucked was because you would have to grind, grind, grind, and grind potentially millions of BP just to get something that would you grind faster (BBQ) or a perk that would finally let you play like you wanted
The only problem is by the time I got the perk(s) I would be incredibly tired of the game and just stop playing for a few weeks. I mean it's fun at first having to experiment with different perk combinations until you get what you want but after the first few dozen games having to play with an unoptimal loadout or without anything you want gets aggravating
If people want to grind for lore and cosmetics that's totally fine. Gives something more to work towards like Hallowed Blight was

It just means you're flat out biased and will do anything to make the game miserable for one side while ignoring the needs for the other, it's just nice to know your position is all :)
And here we see the average survivor and killer main arguing amongst themselves in their natural habitat. Utilizing the power of internet coding and the knowledge passed down from their internet elders, They create pictographs representing emotion in it's double nature, a smily of what would normally be a representation of happiness has been given a double meaning by the survivor to be used against the killer. The killer argues against the purpose of the husk citing potential use by the greater more aggressive survivor sub species, where as the survivor defends the honor of clan survivamore against the perceived disrespect what actions the killer shall take is unclear in the next few moments will decide the course of the argument
Stay tuned for more, on Fouraghetti I am your host Robert Oterzagan

Oh, so you counter the things that almost no one uses and the things that matter are irrelevant with a 60 seconds timer. So it's still a trash add-on.
It's a situational add-on, it's a built in Hex: The Third Seal on a power you can spam over and over again
It's not the best but it's hardly trash
-

Unicor Block ? That add-on is trash.
Only to those without imagination, it completely counters maps, bond, empathy, denies seeing the auras of survivors downed or hooked, and the kindred effect. Very powerful in the right situation, but your free to use whatever add-ons you want. Though I highly stress using Dream Snares
-
If your struggling to apply pressure with Freddy
Run Make Your Choice, BBQ, Weasel, Hex: Haunted Grounds
Absolute INSANE pressure. You will have them exposed so often they'll eventually succumb to attrition and just stop healing meaning everyone can now be one shot
BBQ and Weasel combined with Freddy's teleport allows you to maintain control on oppisite sides of the map. Playing on Yamaoka and the survivor ran you to the other side of the map? Just hook him, teleport to the generator, pop it, patrol and then go smack the survivor that ran to unhook with make your choice, and do it all over again
When you play him right he is insane at the pressure. Also run Dream Snares especially with Unicorn block as they can be really nasty in the right situation with that add-on
-
Meh, I prefer consistency. Oh sure NOED's great when it works but it can be taken out of the game within 2 seconds and usually once everything's gone to the end-game and there's more then 2 survivors left it's usually a loss anyway
Give me Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes The Weasel anyday. Though I will admit the use of NOED can let you relax more throughout the game and not have to worry too much. I just stay away from Hex perks that aren't Haunted
-
I don't really get it either
Some people should just go play a different game and then come back because its having a really bad effect on them
-
Wow, I've never seen Stranger Things but this concept makes the monster sound cool!
Fantastic job on it. I actually really like the idea of a third party monster in the lore, it sounds much more interesting then "Well, it's uhh here and all."

Oh wait...
Do you not know what Soon(TM) is? You can't expect everything to just arrive for you at once, they have release dates and schedules they have to fulfill
Stop being all gloomy and impatient. It will arrive in time, they also have to model and design it ya know. Just stay cool

True, it's the devs' problem.
And it looks like they won't handle it.
You have miscalculated
The power of tribute and homage costumes is they can clearly represent one thing, while having enough differences to be recognized as separate and unique
Heck, look at what Valve has been doing for the past few years with their cosmetic releases. Ghost-Face requires a Spider-Man inspired costume, it is essential
-
Mettle Of Man
The terrible experience of mettle almost ruined Ash for me, which is a huge shame because I'm a fan of Evil Dead
-
If it's not a demogorgon and another bloody teenager like Legion
I will never buy it even if the perks are meta
-
Yeah the only way to stop it is to either run overcharge or use Pop Goes The Weasel to punish it, and that's a whole perk slot dedicated to stopping something every survivor can do
Quite frustrating but what can you do. In the case of Weasel it's actually quite beneficial

I have wanted a killer that's a proper actual monster ever since I got the game and this Demogorgon does fit that
But I have next to no interest in Stranger Things. So it would have to look really, really, cool in-game and have awesome perks

You know one of the most reliable counters to NOED is leaving one or multiple totems that spawned in an open field up
That way if NOED does proc there's a very high chance that it will be that specific totem it spawns on
Too often survivors will make sure to do every single totem that spawned in an open field, and then suffer because NOED spawned on the one remaining totem that was hidden in a bush at the corner of a map

I never use moris, both because they are just lame to run into, they ruin the pacing of the game, and force survivors to do nothing but gen rush as fast as they can
As that's the only way to survive. Using them on SWF with Franklins is fair game though
-
Ghostface: Look at me to take my power away!
Spirit: Look at me and die

The best you can do

I love the lighting in these screenshots it's not all uniform in brightness and there's some really cool looking atmospheres in those levels
I really wish they would bring that old lighting back. In particular the extreme fog at the end game screen that looks awesome. So much better then the pretty bland dark brown background that is in now

LOL what is hypocritical? Those perks are all so meta right? They completely ruin any stealth options the killer has right? No they aren't and no they don't. They barely have an impact on the game because the aura reveal is a few seconds after a very specific trigger. I play Ghostface and have absolutely no issue with any aura perks except OOO because you can EASILY play around all of them.
OOO is the only aura perk that is a problem because you are basically visible 100% of the time if the survivors wants. And it's a problem for all killers, not just stealth killers. The logical thing would be to just change OOO and call it a day, because that's the only perk that actually has no counter play for killers and heavily impacts games.
You're basically asking for aura perks to be useless against stealth killers because you fail at being a good killer. It's so easy to play around all aura reveals other than OOO it's not even funny.
To be entirely honest Object in solo play isn't too much of a problem it's in SWF where it becomes broken. Even then it's just an addition to their com system, they'd still be able to keep tabs on you 24/7
Really the perk I dislike going against as a stealth killer is Spine-Chill. As there's no counter to it, has unlimited use without a cooldown unlike premonition, and no down-sides at all. Which is especially grievous due to the sheer amount of information it gaves the player. That said I still run it at all times when I play survivor because of those reasons. Personally I wouldn't mind it at all as long as I had some type of warning that someone or multiple people are running it so I can adjust my strategy accordingly. As currently you have no way of knowing until the game ends
-
Well, if there's a bug and no I-Frames for the repeated Dead Hards
it looks like I'm going to be playing Trapper until the bug gets fixed. Fake Dead Hard over this trapped loop SUCKER!
-
The disparity between killers like Ghostface, Clown, and Trapper compared to Spirit is absolutely frigging hilarious
Like spirit has so much going for her especially the free passive effects, that she doesn't even have to work to get. And then you got those 3 who have to go to great lengths to use their power and they have to sacrifice for it
Just what are they thinking
