  • While a powerful suggestion

In truth the best way handle toxicity is to just not engage with it. If some dude is being toxic in the in-game chat to you, just don't engage them and back out, dealing with it in-game is more annoying but if you can't punish the BMer don't sweat it. Its easier said than done because you can nail it down, its far nicer that way

Plus If there's one thing about the toxicity of DBD that I've learned is that there is ALWAYS a bigger fish, and that bmers will queue into a miserable game one day. Ultimately I just decide never to commit to the cycle of toxicity because its bloody exhausting and its been going on since the game released and it does nothing but perpetuate the worst elements of the game. And honestly the game balance is way more balanced than it was when I was starting out back in 2018

If I ever feel I'm starting to get toxic, the best strat is just to take a break from the game for however long you need it

  • It is brilliant and utterly miserable to see this thread still going strong

  • When I left there were tons of threads saying Wraith was OP and needed changes after his buff, and at the same time other threads saying that he was finally viable at high ranks and needed no changes

I come back and now the discussion is back to where it used to be

I’m not sure if anyone made a post like this but I figured I ask anyway. But anyway I was wondering if anyone is going to play the Lunar Event? I only made the question because I was thinking maybe playing or skipping it. The reason why I mentioned about skipping it is I don’t really want to deal with SBMMS like everyone else because killer and sometimes survivor can be sweaty or even boring to play due to how the game works currently like others mentioned. I also Know that SBMMS won’t leave anytime soon. But anyway I just thought I share my thoughts on the subject matter but let me know what you are all planning to do.

I'm thinking of coming back after the break I took, so I think I might play. Though I don't like the skins they showed for the killers more than the skins I already have so I probably wouldn't really participate in it

Why? The only thing you'll ever see is your weapon, hand, and somtimes your arms

Being able to play Davy Jones underwater zombie monster Trapper sustains me! Because It isn't about the money

Its about playing as the coolest monster version

  • A compromise I think could be the best option

Keep the 100% audio removal but make it so that scratch marks are slightly brighter than normal either when the survivor is injured or healthy, this I think could be a great solution for both killer and survivor

  • It stops people from committing crimes against DBD and her people

Essential it is for a survivor build

  • I used Lethal Pursuer a few times and while it was pretty interesting and gave me a good advantage at the start of the game, It still left me without a 4th perk slot. Since I like to use Corrupt in nearly every build it means I'm stuck with just two perks after 2 minutes into the game

Its just too much of a downside for my playstyle and the perk variety I like to use. But it is a solid perk, just not for me

  • Seriously I've been using that perk all the time ever since I first unlocked it, I absolutely love it. But I guess we just have to give it time, eventually one of the tubers will start praising it to kingdom come and than any discussion quality about that perk will go down the tubes lol

I haven't seen it and it looks amazing, so the first part only, right?

I like all the Tremors till 4

Tremors 1 is an iconic horror comedy

Tremors 2 goes more indepth as to how the Graboids work and has great scenes. Probably the best direct to dvd sequel to a horror movie

Tremors 3 is much more mixed depending on who you ask

Tremors 4 is a COWBOAH MOVIE

You can usually find a Tremors collection (Attack pack) which contains all 4 movies for $5 in a Walmart DVD bin. The first movie streams on hulu and showtime. Its really easy to find them and I say you should give all 4 a go if you like the first one

I have found more killers reject it when I offer them a free hook at the end. I don't know if they just want to move on or if they feel insulted but I'll just leave if they don't want it

When I'm a killer, I have no issues taking the kill/hook. Pride don't put Blood points on the table!

For me if you got to that point you earned the escape, as long as i don't de-pip I'm fine

I'm pretty chill and give survivor(s) free escapes every few games and or depending on the circumstances so I don't find it insulting in the slightest.

I mean it is just a game, its not E-Sports lol

Dog would have been so much better than Deathslinger, sad I am that it wasn't the case lol

Alien would be great though with so many open maps and the style of gameplay I don't really feel the Xenomorph can be done proper justice and while I am desperate for good Alien content I don't know if I want Alien to be added to DBD. Don't get me wrong I'll prolly play him all the time but otherwise I feel conflicted

Slenderman would be funny, STATIC to RIVAL the Doctor's unlimited power

Would appreciate a lot if guys hit like, RT and/or comment on it.

I'm starting to believe BHVR's community management team has troll accounts in place to discredit content like this. I'm noticing most of the accounts that are attacking others because of the current state of the game have very few followers and activity overall.

Good bloody golly that is awful, its really not funny anymore at this point. These are long term issues that have been going on for months, upgrading is not a "solution" because BHVR clearly cares about these platforms

If they didn't than why would they continue to port the Chapters and fill their shop with the same cosmetics we get? BHVR has an obligation to fix these issues and at least openly acknowledge the thousands of paying customers that have come their way. This is more than a last gen console issue this is a DBD PLAYERBASE problem we all need to be pressing BHVR to improve this game's performance

Yep, same old "just be alert", also known as just bait it out, and some meaningless general quotes like "pay attention to killer's strategy"(actually had a good laugh with this one, thank you). So I guess we known know the counterplay to spirit - just pay attention to her strategy :D

Good try, but wraith's current state is undefendable, sad but true.

    Untitled Image

I gave you the mindset I've lived by as well as some counter tips from someone who has played Wraith for a bit since 2018. I didn't go into quite as much detail but I think I did "A pretty good job", If you don't want to listen to my advice and shrug it off, that's you. By going immediately to bad faith "Wow you say pay attention to killer strats, guess you could say the same about Spirit XDXD" something tells me you've already projected quite a bit onto me. (As if keeping track of what a player does so you can mindgame em isn't the core of the game)

He's a killer that bypasses the terror radius and has great ease in getting around the map, but in a chase he's still a standard killer. The lack of TR notification is certainly a bother but overcomeable, the Wraith still has to beat you in a chase and while a surprise uncloak may give him the first hit, its up to both of you if that leads to a down or not. Better a dozen wraiths than a single Deathslinger who ALSO has a small terror radius with the addition of a power that utterly breaks the gameplay loop the game is built on

  • A Tremors chapter would be M A G N I F I C E N T

I'm not sure the Graboids could work unless you downsized them to the point they looked more like the infant Dirt Dragons from Tremors 4.

    Untitled Image Untitled Image

A size inbetween these two could work but there would be a number of problems getting them to work in DBD. We've never had a killer other than Demo use the underground and even with Demo it just works as a portal. I think it would be too difficult if not contradictory to the core of the gameplay in DBD for Graboids to work as playable killers, how would they even hook survivors? But there is another

  • @Kwek said:

Can anyone of the peeps flooding wraith topics with comments like "Wraith is fine, survivors just need braincells or something" explain how are you actually supposed to play against him? I don't think that's ever been done, and as a killer main who decided to play survivor for challenges in the last few days, i've been encountering that game design travesty in about third of my games. I've seen 4(4!!!) spirits and more than 30 wraiths. Surely if there was some adequate way to counter him on most maps, there wouldn't be so goddamn many wraith gamers, would there?

Completely removing all the restrictions that his power had was bad, just admit it. His power doesn't even need a stealth component anymore, it's just that good. Compare it to poor ghostface's power, it's laughable how much that guy pays for stealth privilege compared to "but he was always so weak, devs plesse make him one of the worst killers to play against " bingy boy.

The way you beat Wraith is you have to pay attention and don't get complacent you don't have the luxury of the terror radius to tell you he's near so you need to pay attention to what's around you have an exit strategy in mind, keep track of the UI so you know what he's up to and most importantly

Don't panic. What gets people with Wraith is what gets people with Myers and Ghostface he comes out of nowhere and messes up whatever plan you had in mind if you keep cool once he's uncloaked and used up that lunge he's nothing but a normal M1 killer.

Don't rely on the terror radius to do all of the heavy lifting, keep alert, keep focused, pay attention to the killer's strategy. Does he like to block pallets, Does he like to uncloak on a particular side, How long does he keep a chase going before cloaking and bothering someone else, what addons is he using? The thing about wraith is it is easy to tell what addons he has on as they affect his bell noise, movement speed, and breaking animation if you figure that out you've got a way into his mind

  • I still am disappointed that the Blights have never been able to capture the game changing wackiness of the original Hallowed Blight event. I do recognize that it could be a MASSIVE headache for survivors, but I really wish BHVR would find a way to recapture the feel and difference of that event by fixing some its issues and making it interactive but not to a detriment like it could be when it first came out

  • @Kata said:

Killer queues take forever, you get into game, and a gen is done before you can even reach it. Everyone is playing hide and seek and I've even had survivors who just refuse to play EGC and leave. I bring cake, I play nice, I don't tunnel or camp, why am I getting 40-75k bp per game? Why do survivors bring 4 cakes as well but then speedrun haddonfield? I was so looking forward to this event, all the cool crowns, and the bp farming, but something changed and suddenly it's not a good time. I've gone down 2 ranks because I'm over here playing nice and merciful while the gens just fly... what is going on?

Well whenever players are presented with BP, the ability to get free cosmetics (Crown, pustulas) it tends to go a few ways. Either everyone plays to the best of their ability in order to ensure they meet their goals (Afterall you have no idea what the past few matches could have been for them), everyone plays super safe, people want to farm, or people just simply try to get in and out as fast as they can this is for both killers and survivors

Some people can even get caught up inbetween a game spree and not realizing how far ahead they are against their opponent(s) in this round because of past match history

Its all a number of disconnected and connected factors

I wouldn't change anything about his power, terror radius, or boosts to vaulting. I think Michael is one of BHVR's best done characters in terms of capturing the character's essence and mechanics as a playable killer. Now I wouldn't mind a small add on pass, like improving Vanity mirror by not making it a straight downgrade either bringing it more inline with scratched or making it do something similar but different because as it is there is never any reason to pick Vanity

Scratched mirror must never be touched on it is beautiful

  • I think we could see Battle damaged Nemesis, Mr. X, original RE3 Nemesis design, and perhaps another variation from other games

    RE4 Mendez could be cool

    Untitled Image

  • I think they don't want it to be confusing or muddle the distinctiveness of Killer powers. If a trapper changes his stone sword for a rusty anchor, or a billy swaps from a hammer to a literal tree stump club, it doesn't muddle anything because you still know what they are and what the effect is

Now if a Doctor starts shocking the floor with Purple/Red lightning, or Huntress receives a throwing axe skin which modifies the weapon model making it look smaller or larger, Plague vomiting blue colored vomit and purple corrupt vomit, and the same could be said for Billy's/Bubba's chainsaw on the model issue. Additionally some killers have powers that couldn't recieve new looks such as stalking, Hag's runes, Spirit's phase, and for killers like Trapper changing the bear trap model could make it more or less obvious potentially creating a soft PTW issue

There are killers that could definitely work with power cosmetics. Powers such as Wraith's bell, Trickster knives, potentially Oni and Nurse (the glowing embers on her hand), Clown bottles, Blight vials, but it just creates a potential visual mess where there wasn't one originally ontop of creating a situation where killer powers have to be designed both around the default look and whatever they create down the line

Infectious fright - Allows you to slug and contaminate more people at once which is important for his mutation rate

Tremors - Track where people are for mutation rate

Make your choice - Having an easy down is very nice for a slow building killer like nemesis to keep pressure whilst trying to gain mutation rate

Lethal - Find people ASAP to begin growing your mutation rate

    Addons:

    - Increases mutation rate when contaminating a survivor

    - Movement speed on zombies moderately increased

This sounds like a super aggressive snow ball build that could be really fun once it starts

I still think Enduring, and to a lesser extent Spirit Fury, are still worth it on him in a vacuum. If a survivor is injured, a pallet is a guaranteed down. If you pull out your tentacle and the survivor loops again, you lost that mindgame. If you run through and they double back and stun you, you lose as well. I would say the real benefit here is the ability to save time. Tentacle smashing pallets counts towards stacking Spirit Fury so you can always save dropped pallets to eat later.

Plus enduring and spirit fury help give Nemesis a proper spooky moment for the survivor. He just destroys the pallet with the sheer face of his head

My strategy is to contaminate as many people as possible and reach Tier 2 ASAP. Survivors running out of vaccines mid to late game is crucial.

Ruin does its job while I push people off generators & try to get my Tier 2. Pop is there as a Backup. Corrupt is mandatory. BBQ is there for BPs & Info.

I really like this build I hadn't thought of stacking 3 gen stall perks with BBQ, I just don't really like Ruin. But I can definitely swap Ruin out with STBFL or another perk like you said

I just don't understand why performance would be an issue, as the zombie AI should definitely be handled by the server and not the clients.

And to render 2 more characters in Unreal engine... performance impact is none-existant. Especially the models they used for zombies

Have y'all seen how badly the game performs on current gen console? And no matter how bad it is on there, the situation is so much worse for the last gen players for they are in a world of utter suffering and pain. The game even chugs on certain PCs and graphic card brands

I fully believe them when they say anything more than 2 zombies blew the game up because this game is filled to the brim with spaghetti and prayers that the code will hold because BHVR's content release plan really doesn't give the team any time to fix the bugs that pile up with every other update

Back in 2018-2019 there were sound bugs, visual bugs, movement bugs, and all other kinds of horrible stuff that happened every other update sometimes all at once, this game is very unoptimized

What needs to be done at the very least is zombies should have faster movement speeds on big maps and the same or lower speed on small maps. Adjusting the way the addons and base speed are capped is essential

  • Old Freddy was one of the most unique killers in the game I won't lie that he had some problems but the strength of his kit, his addons, if you knew how to play him he was utterly brilliant. I only wish that I had been able to play him more and would be extremely happy if he was brought back as a second Freddy class

  • DBD is the least optimized unreal engine game I've seen since the 360/PS3 era. I swear this game has all the headaches, spaghetti code, and weird performance as a Valve Source engine game with very little of the benefits that said engine would provide

    Must be a nightmare

  • Everyone is free to play how they want to play restricting yourself to a playstyle that is imposed on you is foolish and only takes away time and enjoyment from you, whether you are a survivor or killer. A survivor shouldn't be afraid to SWF, a killer shouldn't be afraid to take the opportunities as they arrive even if it means screwing over a poor individual survivor

Whether you want to be chill or sweaty is up to you, for myself I prefer to be chill, enjoy the game, and screw over the folks that farm their teammates, sandbag, and are just unpleasant. That's just me

  • For trapper to be able to carry two-three traps default or at the very least have the yellow dye add on become default it would be a tremendous change that would allow for more freedom

  • @Ruma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272347#Comment_2272347

How? Killers will ALWAYS lose their addons while Suvivors can atleast keep their item and with a perk even their add ons.

Allow me to break it down. If a killer gets an ultra-rare addon that's all they need, they do not have to put it in something to bring out its or an item's full potential they can combo it with any addon (at least one that makes sense). Whether they win or lose they can only lose two addons (without black-ward)

When a survivor gets an ultra rare addon they have to choose between putting it in a grey, yellow, purple or ultra-rare item. If they put it in a ultra-rare item and they die they lose both the item and addons which is a much higher individual loss but if they put it in a lower tier item they aren't able to get the full power.

Additionally as I said before, each item has its own addon pool so if a Doctor wants to get Iridescent King the only three Ultra rares that can spawn in the pool are the two killer unique UR addons or a Ebony Mori. But if a survivor wants an ultra rare tool box and addon they have to hope the ultra rare that spawns in their web isn't for a medkit or flashlight, You can argue that "They are still getting ultra-rares" but do killers use ultra rares with every build? No, because some ultra rares won't jive with a build you are using, and if a survivor is decked out for a gen repair or medic playstyle a flashlight is not going to be of help. Its the same way a killer decked out for stealth won't use something that contradicts/breaks stealth it all goes back down to the RNG of the Bloodweb and the way survivor items and addons are designed

Do you understand now why? Killer addons cannot be removed from the player whereas survivor addons can and everything else I said above

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272318#Comment_2272318

Most gens get done in the early game; the killer's pressure comes in the late game, with less of an area to patrol and the survivors already scrambling to recuperate from the killer's damage across the team.

Keys let survivors nope out when the killer's setup is finally paying off, and the last remaining counter besides just dodging the lobby got removed.

Like I personally don't care about 4ks or the survivors escaping unless I'm going for an achievement, but you see how this is a problem, right?

Oh yeah I get that but its nothing new to me keys have been this strong since I started playing years ago. We see them more because everything else has been nerfed, healing has been hit several times with direct nerfs and anti-healing perk/addon buffs, medkits got blunted and insta heals outright removed, Tool kits have been nerfed several times, flashlights got smacked. Keys are now the strongest remaining untouched items and with the MMR system, perk nerfs, and terrible team balance its pushed survivors further and further into using up their keys in order to ensure they survive the match or can escape it if their team is a bunch of Dodos

When you nerf one thing it just forces reliance on other stuff its what BHVR has yet to understand and I think much of the mega hardcore "nerf this" portion of the population

Maybe they could have made the vaccine an exception instead if nerfing a perk that was fine?

Other than giving me a time machine? I have no idea.

They would have to revert a lot of changes, and that is just impossible to happen.

There's several discord communities that play on old versions of the game such as 1.0.0

  • @TicTac said:

The Franklin demise change is a really bad idea. Only draining the charges instead of destroying the item does nothing to the strongest ability of keys. Opening the hatch.

I know they want to change keys but lets be honest. It would be optimistic if we expect the key change in 6 months.

Why is it such a big deal if survivor lose their item? I almost never play with an item and im doing fine. And killer always cant keep anything.

Items are different from killer addons, for us when we get the add-ons we grab it and that's final they are universal and we can use them with anything on that killer.

But survivors have several items Flashlights, Med kits, Tool-kits, etc and all of these items have their own rarities, separate pool of addons, and interactions. It is overall harder to keep a survivor's supply of items stacked than it is for a killer, even if you had the worst bloodweb rng possible as a killer.

Can't argue that. However I don't enjoy treating the game as a job or becoming a meta slave in order to beat the other meta slaves and argue one is better than the other

This is my preference and ultimately everyone is free to build however they want its all decided by what one is comfortable with

  • Not counting Haddonfield, probably Dead Dawg Saloon, Mount Ormond, and something something. I love the aesthetic and atmosphere but Saloon is a pretty dull map overall. I've never had any headaches on it like with Mount Ormond its just pretty badly balanced for both surv and killer

Keys are a symptom of root cause(s) but if you wanna go that way than by all means do it. As for me I find repetition and that mindset very dull and boring

  • The reduction to Demo black heart is pretty fair it was a Grey add-on and they buffed the default version of his power anyway, no big loss. People complaining about keys are understandable but the perk screws over every item in the game in its pre-change state. If I could use the original version of Franklins back when Survs had the old Decisive, Mettle, and whatever y'all can adapt to it now lol

Aside from that sounds pretty good, Nemesis's perks got a buff, none of the addons were touched, one of the better PTB to live conversions. Though I don't play Blight enough to have an opinion on his change
