    No.

you can't tell me that trickster got a buff!

he was released weak and the buff barely did #########

oh but they buffed demo? Not really.

then they nerfed the ######### out of freddy, huntress and twins

Freddy deserved to be toned down a bit, he'd been allowed to have powers with no downside since 2019 it was well overdue that he got a slight tuning down. Everything about his kit is still fantastic its just a bit less cheesy

As for Trickster, Ranged killers are like that. Its why I really don't care to play any of them but Plague and occasionally a Huntress game they're just obnoxious to balance.

And yeah they did buff Demo they almost if not entirely walked back that old PTB nerf to his Shred recovery and speed and boosted his teleportation speed. Its a fantastic buff and QOL pass to his base and addon kit that I genuinely wasn't expecting to see happen anytime soon. Infact in a lot of regards this Demo is even stronger than his old PTB pre-nerf self

If you think what they did to Freddy was a gut punch of a nerf, or finally stopping that Huntress cheese build was destructive then you've never truly seen BHVR nerfs

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    BHVR hates killers apparently.

    But really love SWF

The entire past year has been almost entirely buffs and reworks to killers and major nerfs to perks, survivor movement, map design, and pallet generation. We are in the best time there has ever been to be a killer and you still complain about them loving SWFs and hating on killers? This last patch they buffed three different killers, and nerfed surv perks

Were you folks even around for 2018-2019 DBD?

What if Predator assigned each survivor their own shade or color so that tracks of multiple survivors can be distinguished.

I've had an injured survivor escape because, while I didn't have line-of-sight, a healthy survivor was nearby to take the aggro and I mistook their tracks for my target's.

That could actually be really, really, nice. Especially in situations were several survivors scatter and you can't tell which of them are injured or the one you are really going for. That would be a great perk

  • The Doctor would legitimately incapacitate if not outright kill survivors with his electric shocks and be the most overpowered killer in the game

To join in with the pictures, Godzilla content, yes?

  • You wrote a whole wall of text around the whole "Skill =/ Luck"

Yes. and if "danced" around the issue you too also danced around mine even going back around to "ha, survivor bad because one guy said this" all the while making the same dumb comparisons they do. Ultimately you just end up spinning in the mud with the same "Yeah, I'm cursed with burdens while they dance around and frolic nothing has ever changed for the game"

The goal of survivors is to get to the end-game and that's why the perk selection matters. Hexs are hard to equivalent to survivor perks because they are rather unique

If a survivor didn't get to use Haste or Adrenaline, he sucked.

Here you again show-off the bias you have against survivors by saying the other guy sucked if he didn't make it. I get the comparison you are trying to make, but you keep selectively choosing examples and words to make your argument seem more credible and solid. Implying the other guy had to suck because he didn't make it removes all the minute that goes on in a match and whether intentional or not feeds into the "Killers are always the under-dogs that only win because survivors were bad" (This community has way too much of an inferiority complex)

The only way Hex Perks can avoid being instantly removed from the game is if their effects are weakened severely through a rework. All the QOL changes I've suggested are just that, QOL improvements because you can never entirely remove the risk no matter how much you try and mitigate them. You could make it so that totems have better spawns, don't show as lit until a timer has past, (Survs will just cleanse them anyway) or whatever but there's always going to be the time it gets instantly removed, that's just the law of probabilities in action. If you use a perk that has a physical place on the map you have to accept its going to be found and destroyed eventually. Its why killers that have the ability to trap, travel long distances or exert control have good synergy with these perks. QOL changes are the only thing Hex-Perks need imo, because anything else would result in them being gutted or opening a whole can of worms in changing a mechanic that can be better helped with just QOL changes since at its core Hex perks are solid

if the effects Hex perks have weren't good or strong enough to justify their gamble to so many killer player, nobody would use them. The fact we are arguing about them now is proof of their efficacy

  • If its done to just spam the animation to annoy the killer, I guess. Otherwise I suppose its a valid move I suppose if the heal bar is close or they are trying to pull the killer away from their team

Either-way it keeps em in my line of sight and cuts down on how far they can run before I finish breaking the pallet

So let go for it, I guess

  • @NightmareKiller said:

Did you seriously compare perks that completly rely on your skill, since it's up to YOU to make it to the endgame, to perks which can be disabled for the entire match in the very first 16 seconds because a survivor spawned right next to it?

Skill and luck are very different things. But looking at survivor players i'm not surprised the only way they have of winning is getting lucky, seems getting good is too much to ask

Yes, yes I did. Because while the perk strengths are different they do rely upon similar conditions. No matter how you may want it there's no way Hex: Ruin can become a permanent perk without said perk being utterly gutted, or ruining any form of perk variety for Killers and making the game obnoxious for survivors. It has to have the ability to be destroyed for it to stay as it is, and yeah both Killers and Survivors get bad RNG sometimes killers get hit with god tier loop placements that allow the survivors to have a great deal of leniency and other times killers get lucky and survivors have to deal with dead-zones, survs can get nothing from all the chests in four different lobbies, but in the next round get an ultra rare item on the first chest

That is the thing you have to accept when you play this game, because the maps change, the tiles change, generator, killer, and survivor spawn placements change, its all stuff that both sides have to deal with and what both sides benefit and suffer from. Yeah it sucks when a Hex gets destroyed, I know I've used Devour with grounds and watched devour go bloop while haunted grounds remained entirely untouched for the whole game, oftentimes its just out of our control. Now could the spawn placements be improved, of course. Survs shouldn't spawn right next to them nor should hexes spawn out in the open on a mountain. Changes such as that would be all fair and dandy to me

And as for you, you once again show the bias you have in this argument. You complain about Survs being "entitled, short-sighted, relying on luck" but then go on and say survs are so terrible "They can only win through luck" any arguments you have even those founded and valid are diminished when you come at it from the wrong stance. When that happens all you become is a knee-jerk reactionary, because the way you see problems is essential to creating a lasting solution, (I.e finding the root of it and accounting for the ripples caused by the change). For an (exaggerated) example, if you think the Earth is not flat you would be correct, but if you believe the world is a square you are wrong even though you were right about the one thing.

  • @NightmareKiller said:

It's even funnier when BOTH ruin and undying get cleansed and at the same time. Funny how they keep adding perks to help survivors find totems.

    • I-if you don't want 4 gens to pop at once when the game starts use perks to slow down the game!!!!!
    • Oh, oopsie didoopsie haha you picked ruin, you picked an RNG perk so enjoy playing with 3 perks now, not my problem!!

I just proceed to camp and tunnel when they break my hex, Haunted Grounds shouldn't even be a thing, every survivor who destroys an hex perk should become immediatly exposed for the next 60 seconds. Survivors get perks that stun the killer, ruin his plays and save them from mistakes but killers can't even have a match with 4 perks.

Its the gamble you take with a perk that relys on RNG or endgame. If a survivor takes two perks for the end-game they are gambling that they will make it to the end-game and that it will provide enough of a boost to secure the escape. They may end up getting into chases constantly meaning their two other perks meant to help repair become a deficit potentially leaving them with no perks for the situation. Its the same with Killers for every successful Ruin game there's another game where its a complete failure. If you don't want to deal with RNG don't use the perk you'll have better and more consistent games.

Dbd is a game, where new players have no idea what they are talking about. If you would play 1000 hours, you would change your opinion 50 times, bc experience means a lot.

Bold of you to assume that the player population isn't as stubborn as a thousand Goats, lol

Anyway as for the Wrath, Nurse, and Spirit that's not surprising those killers are very strong against new and average players because of the way their powers work. Wraith is invisible, Spirit's got her motionless husk and Evil dead run, and Nurse has entirely different movement to everyone else

The way to counter Wraith is to be aware of what's happening in the game such as when was the last time you heard a bell, is he chasing someone, and situate yourself where you have as little blind spot as possible, to counter Spirit and Nurse you have to learn mindgames (Which is natural part of game) you gotta figure out what the spirit is thinking and learn to counter them. As for the Nurse you've gotta juke her teleports so that means changing directions, making her think you are going one way while in reality you aren't and losing line of sight is essential

  • Millions of survivors being sore losers is rather hyperbolic, but rotten players play both Killer and Survivors you learn to shrug em off and ignore them after a while and just focus on the good convos and games. They can be bad sports all they like as long as I have fun and continue being a good sport they are popcorn entertainment

  • I didn't even know there was a Gnome challenge, I was just walking around the Spirit map as Trapper when I found it lol

  • While I haven't been here since 2016 I have been in the game since October 2018, DBD no matter how frustrating it can be some times is just a blast to play. I've never been able to find a game quite like it with as much replayability and content as it (excluding Depth though I haven't played it in a while)

I haven't been very active in the game for the past few months, but I've been getting back into it recently and its very fun. Its really neat to see all the changes that have happened while I've been away

    Corn blindness is gone!

  • @Phasmamain said:

But realistically trapper will never be A tier without a complete do over. Same goes for many perks and add ons

Leave my Trapper alone you Hobo pfp monster! jk But also seriously no

Now It does sounds nice on paper if everyone is equal, but realistically that's not only impossible but would be completely boring. Everyone would just be a side-grade or variation of the same top 3 or 5. There has to be killers that fulfill a specific niche and power and that does mean they are weaker in some situations but that also goes for being stronger in other situations.

  • The DS we have nowadays is a complete shadow of its 2019 and especially its 2018 self. I see no problem with using it in the slightest, its a fair perk nowadays.

because this game is oversupply with survivor and killer player is diminishing every month. Lobby queue is extremely become very long on night. Shortage of killer on purple and red tier, but killer on green and yellow (newbie) is oversupply but because they always facing with experience survivor they decide to exit killer gameplay.

    Any thought

This right here is the exact type of Killer player mindset the devs need to stop supporting. If you think the game is balanced too far for survivors right now, you would never have been able to play the game back in 2018 or even 2019 with that attitude. Survivors have been hit with hard nerfs for months, Items got struck, DS got further nerfed, stamina perks like BL and other such are nowhere to be seen, heck there haven't even been any decent or meta survivor perks since Stranger Things or Silent Hill. That's not even mentioning the map rework changes that have been heavily in favor of Killers with reduced pallet count, dead zones, and incredibly unsafe loops

The game right now is both the best and worst its ever been for killers. We can get survivors easily but the chase game is getting terrible, and the whole point of the game is the mind-games so much of what the devs have been doing has been oversimplifying the game way too much and weakening the core-gameplay loop

    @smart212 said:

Yes and no, people that play the game from both sides have a good perspective. But implying that a killer strat can never be "toxic" or grounds for complaining is not in reality. Both sides have toxic strats and players, but from my limited perspective as a killer main

    2. The Howling
    3. Anniversary 2019

I really wish they would do events like the Howling again, it doesn't have to be much. Just a new skin to earn as survivor and killer, have a few aesthetic changes to generators here and there

It would be a great way to get people playing and wouldn't cost that much

  • Honestly, the only thing I can say is "There's an event?" The blight decorations and effects in the maps are so scant and isolated that you could go through an entire match and not even notice them

When the original Haunted Blight was up the map atmosphere felt genuinely changed, seeing all the pustules and the orange glowing hooks infecting previously normal maps was super cool. The new skins look nice but nothing that grabs me like the last two times, though I do like how the Blight's skin looks like a Flood combat form

Overall there's nothing different no new objectives, no major aesthetic changes. Its just like any other BP or anniversary event aside from those weird event addons and the fact that there isn't any BP changes

  • Honestly wouldn't mind were it not for the stretched resolution, and increased brightness as that's being cheaty and uncool

Besides that I don't really see where people are all boiling up about. Its not like the squad had rushed the gens and then spent the next 10 minutes farming him, they were just messing about and eventually all died. The greatest "crime" they did was that it could have been boring for the killer, but that's a stretch to say given that we don't know what the clown player was thinking only what we think detached from the match

I mean in comparison to some of the genuinely toxic stuff I've seen players do, this is pretty much nothing. There was no real malice just a bunch of players messing about. I just think people need to chill out and stop being watchdogs all the time

  • The survivor addon is pretty bland and simple in comparison to the killer offering, all the survivor item does is increase repair speed for a few seconds while the offering can replace a killer's inherent power. Personally I would prefer both items didn't have a event restriction, but I see the rationale behind the decision.

They probably don't want to have new players in 6 months time asking why and how this one Huntress dashed and hit them, false reporting, etc. Because you know that will happen

So youre telling me that a killer should be 100% counterable? I dont think his power should be all that counterable. Hes fun, and thats what matters. He has drawbacks, and he lets survivors know what hes doing. Including a MAPWIDE notification that he has his power. Loops counter him as well. Hes like t3 Myers. Strong but with drawbacks. He has to absorb blood like Myers stalks. After that happens, you can still loop them. They just one hit you. Oni is fun and balanced.

I just critiqued your post for using absolutist viewpoints and biased data, but to end this. Nothing should be 100% counterable if something is then it might as well not exist.

I understand there is quite a difference but look at how fighting games are balanced you have upper, mid, and bottom attacks many can be blocked but if you use the wrong block it'll go through and throws or other attacks have their own discrepancies. Certain attacks have range or arcs and require the right distance. So just as in DBD everything is a mindgame you have to predict what the other player is going to do, make them go where you want, take advantage of their plays, counter, punish, reset. This describes DBD's core gameplay very well everything is about the Mindgame mistakes will be made but its up to each player to best the other. This is pure, healthy, and dynamic gameplay that isn't beholden to any side and feeds little entitlement

     Loops counter him as well.

Haha, flick goes woooooosh, thud, thud,

He has to absorb blood like Myers stalks.

That is an absurd comparison. Myers has to actually stalk a moving survivor who when they notice him will try to get out of his line of sight and delay him as much as possible. Each survivor has a set hard limit of stalk juice and when it goes, its gone for the entire game. Blood Orbs if allowed will generate endlessly, are static bright red floating objects that only move when the oni gets near, and etc. Both myers and oni hold M2 to generate power but what they get it from is V A S T L Y different

Including a MAPWIDE notification that he has his power.

Practically half the cast has a mapwide notification for when their power activates or deactivates. It's not a unique downside and it only tells you to prepare

You've mostly just talked about the basic chasing system and skirted away from most points about the Oni's power and the way that interacts with the game's general systems

  • @hillbillyclaudmain69 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556739#Comment_1556739

I'm talking about demon dash into demon strike, not his basic attack. If he's really good, he'll hit you, but there aren't many good onis are there? Ive spun a rank 1 oni main in his power before. If you spin someone's basic attack, then yes, they're an idiot. But 360s are a lot more consistent against a powered up oni than any other killer.

There is so much wrong with this argument

So you are acknowledging that the Oni's kit is incredibly strong and acknowledging that because of this what you said about 360s "hard" countering him can be null and void. But then you go to say "Well how many good Onis are there?"

You acknowledge there could be a problem and that there likely is, but because you think there aren't that many good Onis its not a problem. That's like looking at a radiator block and noticing there's a few tiny holes but just laughing it off as "Well there aren't too many"

Ive spun a rank 1 oni main in his power before.

So the entire population of rank 1 killers and especially Onis are now beholden and inseparable from that rank 1 Oni player. You understand of course that the use of O N E player and attributing that to the entire population is a bit of astretch and extremely "anecdotal" at best?

  • @hillbillyclaudmain69 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1555892#Comment_1555892

Oni is perfectly balanced. You can deny his power easily. And in his power, any competent survivor can 360 an oni. Hell, I'm on ps4, and I do that easily. Oni is fine.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUmKlbGertk

PS4, easy 360s, complete denial of his power

If you are going against an Oni that can't hit survivors, congratulations you aren't "denying" his power you matched up against a rank 20. The only thing Oni needs to activate his power is to hit survivors. You know the fundamental most BASIC necessary element of the game?

Even if all survivors refuse to heal in order to "deny" his power (Even though 4 healthy states equal 2 rushes) its only delaying it very briefly. If survivors don't heal it renders any items or perks they brought along useless so everyone's going to stay a one hit so that's already a large boon and when Oni does get his power locating survivors and starting that snowball will be even easier. Because the Oni is a chase killer if he can enter every chase with a survivor that has one hit state with or without an active power that's an absolute win for him

We aren't even getting into the minor benefits of blood orbs such as their "soft" tracking and other tricks you can do. The Oni is absolutely easy mode with all the benefits built into him. The Oni has absolutely nothing to risk, nothing to plan ahead for, nothing to gamble just get in a chase and repeat

How you argue 360s are uncounterable actions that can't be predicted, punished, and beaten as anything else. Or how they provide special immunity to the Oni's attacks I just don't know

  • @hillbillyclaudmain69 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/159217/freddy-and-demogorgon-disparities-reveal-whats-wrong-with-the-game

I agree with all of this except saying oni is a meta killer. Although he has a strong power, he has a weak early game and needs to charge up his power to use it. He is the definition of balanced.

The Oni's "slow and weak" early game is nothing. Killers such as Michael, the Pig, Legion, Ghostface, Trapper, Wraith (arguably), Clown, all have very slow and difficult early games because of the way their power works. The Oni only has to hit two survivors and he's got his power. That is quite literally nothing, the Oni basically has to spend a minute as a 115 tall character before he can start zooming around the map one hitting survivors. He suffers no movement penalty, no power drain when he injuries a healthy survivor, no need to plan ahead, anticipate and herd survivors towards his traps

The Oni is perhaps the easiest and most casual killer to play in the entire game and this is from someone who enjoys him.

Hope in the future they take time to slow down the overall pace of games while balancing killers to that accordingly. I shall only dream.

I would honestly even be in favor of changing how the hook-states work and everything else if it meant that games could be longer, more enjoyable and less stressful for both sides. And a change as huge as that could be catastrophic but maybe more dramatic changes could be worth looking into on an experimental PTB

Because I really wish BHVR would use their PTB as more then just a DLC testing board, I want to see them integrate an experimental section to their game where the playerbase can get together and check it out. It could be a fantastic way to get the community engaged and interested

Its both ways. Once the shack pallet is gone and a killer can put someone in the basement it is incredibly strong. The basement shack is one of the tiles in the game that requires zero change. The only time its a pain is when the killer gets some really bad tile spawn rng and the survivors got a super strong connected loop, but the same RNG effect happens to survivors too
