There's winning because of perks/add one and then there's winning with your skill/actions.
I prefer using brown and yellow add ons with no ruin just to make my victory completely mine.
You don’t understand, once you become more skilled and start reaching the skill ceiling in this game a very clear meta develops, ruin or pop to slow down generator speed, killer powers that cut down chases.
Once you reach that level there’s no point in intentionally gimping yourself with inferior perks if you’re playing to win, it doesn’t make you anymore skilled to use less powerful stuff.

Sure... ok.
That the same if it's a Spirit/ Nurse etc?
Yeah it’s still true.
-
Freddy, I always do well with him especially after the amazing rework.
Leatherface, with decent add ons I can actually land some chainsaw hits.
Ghostface, I like his stealth and ability to one shot
The Clown, his power is really great for cutting down chases.
The Plague, with good add ons is scary and I like her design.
-
I’ll gladly give up moris to get rid of keys.

"and provides no in-game advantage whatsoever"
It's one sentence, dude, come on. At least finish it.
Pissing players off de-facto gives you an advantage. Your statement is contradictory.

@Orion said:
Anything you do to intentionally piss off another player and provides no in-game advantage whatsoever.
That’s not toxic, if you can piss off your opponent and get them tilted you have a big advantage, goes for any PvP game.
The only thing I’d consider “toxic” is sending hate mail and death threats after a match and false reporting people.
It’s a super overused term that needs to die.

The sad part is the people that have become so dependent on Ruin don't care what rank they stall out on.
They have no standards to how they play they only care about winning so they will scrape up wins off the lobbies that aren't swf and feel good about themselves.
Yeah how dare people try to win :P
Trust me I’d rather use perks other than ruin but against good survivors it’s basically a required perk.
There’s no reason NOT to run a perk to slow down generators given that it’s survivors only objective.
-
Iron Will, Urban Evasion, lightweight, and diversion.
Fun sneaky/juking build.
-
I find survivors far more annoying than any killer lol, regardless of which I’m playing.
-
The lore is badly written and even has typos in it and the design isn’t particularly exciting, just a dude/girl with a knife.

Fire up is the perk that extents pallet breaking speed and vaulting, though no one uses it. The second idea is cool with bloodlust.
That’s because breaking pallets fast isn’t really that strong anyways. If you just go around breaking pallets all game you will lose to good survivors.
It’s much smarter to mindgame whenever possible and only breaking the really strong ones.

DS is anti tunnel, it's not a crutch anymore. If you feel like DS is a crutch then I suggest you don't tunnel.
Adrenaline, yeah it's a crutch but it's the opposite of NOED, survivors have to do their objective and survive until the objective is complete to get their Adrenaline, NOED rewards killers for failing to protect the generators, which is unbalanced. Why should killers be rewarded for failing?
I get smacked with DS when I don’t tunnel and simply am just downing people quick lol.
-
I always use Sloppy Butcher on Huntress since it procs on hatchets.
-
Neither, I use Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, Ruin, and BBQ. Never found bamboozle necessary since most windows can be mindgamed.
-
Clown is very good, literally his only weakness is map pressure but his ability to cut chases short already puts him above much of the cast.

What's your point? By making that list you just look like a killer that complains about garbage survivor perks that no one uses.
His point is that it doesn’t matter whether a perk is “no skill” or not because the majority of perks in the game take “no skill”
-
I’d rather play against nurse with any add ons than a good Huntress with Iridescent Head any day.

@Mew Pro Tip: Throw pebbles at her, the school girl won't stand a chance
Legit though, because it leaves scratchmarks the pebble is a surprisingly good tool for helping out friends from the sidelines if their chase passes nearby. I know that doesn't help with the immediate chase problem but I don't think I'm qualified to help with that given my method of fighting spirit is taunting her into screwing up until I can fake a window and sneak a way
I think this was BHVRS reasoning giving Adam Diversion and releasing him with the Spirit.

Now lets see how many Vote Down i get.
There’s no downvote anymore but A for effort bud. Way to take a stand against those mean killers /s.

you have doc in your profile so i'm going on a assumption and saying you are a doc main, so you have prob never gone against it. It's horrid and unfair, plus the doc using it can just camp those 3 gens at the start, and just wait. It's almost taking the game hostage with how horribly strong the build is.
How dare a mid tier m1 killer have a strong build.
-
How there can be so much complaining about a HEX perk that can be denied before it even has a chance to activate is beyond me.
Why complain about a perk that can easily be destroyed? You can easily do it as a solo player.
NOED has already been nerfed multiple times, stahp whining.

TBH when it comes to killer Adept Achvs.
You have to play by the emblems which is how the Devs want you to play. Which is actually in more of a fair way. If you were doing that properly, you wouldn't have the DCs.
You go hook someone, you go find someone else, you hook them, survivors make the save... You find someone else... Hook them.. and keep repeating until you've hooked everyone 3 times on the hook.
Bam... You got your achv. Easy to do in high ranks, of course not.
Survivors generally DC when they feel like you've been playing like an a-hole.
Just saying.
LOL, that’s a good joke.
It doesn’t matter how “fair” you play, salty survivors will D/C against you. You can have a would-be Merciless victory turned into a Ruthless because people D/C’d.
It’d be just as lame if I disconnect against survivors for using strong loop spots and me thinking they “play like an a-hole”.
If they’re not going to curb disconnects in some way they at least shouldn’t rob players achievements for someone elses disconnect.
Just Saying.
-
If people like the effect of Kindred so much then just run Kindred. It’s only one slot and it’s fairly common.
I’d rather them make some version of borrowed time base kit, since it’s a required perk to attempt rescues against face campers.
-
Hemorrhage is just..not threatening or useful at all.
Blindness needs a buff as well, basically useless against good survivors and SWF especially.
-
It’s clearly Ash Williams and anyone who says otherwise is just wrong.

I vote YES for crossplay, especially between PS4 and Xbox One.
-
This is why I love Ghostface with I’m all ears, just use Night Shroud in a chase and completely trivialize jungle gyms.
-
I typically don’t BM like smacking on the hook or Teabagging. Everything else is fair game.
-
I could post a video of me 4king rank 1 SWF survivors with Freddy or Leatherface, doesn’t mean these killers are top tier, or that it’s a common occurence.
This thread is cherry picking at its finest.

I don't think any of those perks should exist either. Especially Rancor, it's a terribly designed perk and should be outright removed and completely reworked, to not even have a semblance of the same purpose.
Why do you think this? What’s so poorly designed about Rancor? It’s strong but there’s also drawbacks, can’t get more balanced than that.
I think perks that help endgame plays for both sides are good for the game, they add variety and give second chances.
This game would get old quick without these perks or endgame plays in general. Most killers don’t have good exit gate pressure.
-
@KillermainBTWm8 said:
Yes let's nerf the perks that actually reward the survivors for playing well. The counterplay to Adrenaline is to just not let the gens get done it's simple.
If only it were that simple at high ranks against good survivors. It’s not like generators are hard to complete even while being pressured.
I don’t agree with nerfing Adrenaline though, since stuff like NOED, Rancor, and Blood Warden counter it anyways. But framing it as a “reward for playing well” is a bit silly. It’s a second chance perk.
-
You obviously use your exhaustion perks as a crutch if this really bothers you so much. Honestly git gud.
-
I’m a good survivor and I use Self Care usually, I’m not going to waste time trying to get a random player to heal me. That takes more time than just healing myself.
And I’d rather bring a toolbox or Flashlight than a medkit most matches.
If I’m SWF then I can forgo SC.
-
Legion is the lamest design in a game, I don’t know who at BHVR thought a bunch of edgy teenagers would make for a good killer. It’s just a dumb idea.
And the design is basically just “dude with a knife”. ZzZzZ

Watching Tru3talents streams helped me get better at mindgaming as killer.

@thesuicidefox said:
Eh I wouldn't call Dead Hard skillful. It can be, but for the most part it's not.
Spine Chill, Balanced Landing, and No Mither are the most skillful survivors perks IMO.
SC has a lot of utility that you can only get to if you are good at the game. You need to always have a heading of where the killer is coming from to get the most from it, and it takes skill to use it properly in a chase.
BL requires map knowledge and good routing skills. You also have to be a good looper because there will be times where you won't be able to get to a drop point.
NM, well you are injured all the time. Besides the fact it just makes the game flat out harder this way, there is also a very nuanced way to get the most out of the perk by FORCING the killer to slug you. It requires you to really understand the situation and the killer. You have to be in their head and know what they want to do, and know when it is a bad time for them to catch you (eg. your friend is being chased by EW3 Myers, you jump out and sponge a hit, killer is now in a situation where they either let you go to continue the chase on the guy that's now miles away with a one shot, or take your hook and lose EW3 in that time).
Balanced Landing more skillful than Dead Hard? Nah chief. That’s the easiest exhaustion perk besides Adrenaline.
I’ll say Iron Will, pulling off jukes and losing the killer mid chase with it is super satisfying and takes some skill to master.

@miaasma said:
noed's potential impact on the game despite being totally unearned (you essentially have to do poorly throughout the game for it to have an impact later on) sort of speaks for itself
At high ranks gens are going to get completed no matter how much you pressure them as killer, that’s just the reality of facing skilled survivors.
Do some survivors really think completing all 5 gens means they get a free escape and if they die after that they died to a bad killer? I must be a terrible killer then.
Granted I don’t use NOED much, I prefer Rancor.

Absolutely ridiculous trophy, downing someone that far away on console is already difficult but 100 times? With no way to track its progress? You basically have to farm to have any hope of getting it.

Personally I think the Green Mori is perfect as it is and the Yellow Mori is kinda useless.
The Ebony Mori is instead an unbalanced mess which I never use because it makes it really too easy. I could use the mori only after the 2nd hook, but at that point I'd rather use Devour Hope, which you have to earn and gives a nice feel just for that (plus, it's counterable).
Do away with it altogether and make the current Green single use Mori an Ultra Rare and change the old Yellow Mori to a Purple Very Rare mori that allows a single Mori after the gens are powered regardless of any hooks
Personally I like this suggestion.
Wouldn’t that make Rancor kind of redundant?

"Franklin is a troll perk"
"I like FD, It can be a good time waster"
Pick one.
There are other perks that deserve to be called troll perks such as Monstrous shrine or Insidious. Franklin's Demise is a blessing and it has the power to be gamechanging, it's up to you to make it work and create pressure... otherwise, just deal with the Instaheals or the Super commodious toolboxes on your own.
Pick one? Lolwut? It’s a troll perk, that’s the whole point of it. They waste a little bit of time picking items but it wont work as well against SWF, they’ll just have their friend pick it up for them while you’re busy chasing.
It’s a fun perk but hardly meta or gamechanging.
-
@Garresh said:
If I see a full SWF stack, I throw it on. But I don't use it unless they're toxic generally. TBH, I think it should only work after 2 hooks though. It may be rare, but it unfortunately does make the game less fun for survivors.
Wouldn’t even be worth using then, may as well hook them at that point.

You can't be serious. Do you know how powerful is to deny survivors their item? I won games because survivors insisted on trying to retrieve their items, and won many more because they lost precious seconds searching them or just giving them up.
Anyone saying FD is a troll perk really need to consider dropping killer completely. There's something else other than your precious Ruin/BBQ, try it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/578846#Comment_578846
The voice of truth.
I like Franklin’s Demise man, it can be a good time waster sometimes but it hardly “counters items” otherwise it would be a meta perk and would be used more.
But sure, I’ll go drop killer now cause you said so.
-
Sometimes you just have to play whoever you like, even if they happen to be low tier.
Just means you have to work a little harder.

They need to. I will never play vs a nurse. It's an instant dodge as soon as I hear the scream. Even if I beat the nurse I can never have an enjoyable game. She's insanely unfun to play vs and she needs to be reworked or completely gutted. People saying base nurse is balanced are just dumb. In the DbD tournament they had a while back where no one could take perks or addons, Nurse won every single game and it wasn't even close. If you didn't have a nurse player on your team you didn't win. Base nurse is still incredibly overpowered vs base anything else. Sure, you might be able to win a game vs a base nurse. But it doesn't make it her balanced or fun to play against. It's an incredibly stupid design for a character and the fact she hasn't been reworked just proves how clueless the devs are in this game.
Yeah! Just rework or gut a character people have put countless hours into mastering, who cares about them right? It’s all about ME surviving /s.
God forbid a high skill ceiling killer actually be strong.
