I came up with this during one of the discussions as one guy brought up flashlight clickers as a toxic thing.
I stopped caring about tbags or clicks quite some time ago, but due to nature of the game and often situations where one side just have it easy and other literally has nothing to work with (3 strong tiles connected together or the opposite, no pallets or strong windows whatsoever) it can lead to sensation of helplessness intensified by the other side trying to rub it in.
It did annoy me too at times, not going to lie and pretend like I'm above everything.
There is a ridiculously easy 'solution' to the flashlights being annoying.
Each click to turn the flashlight on consumes 0,3 of a second of it's use time + normal consumption for the time it actually shines. Click all you want, 30 clicks and your battery is gone.
To not penalize people who are not mentally in the kindergarten I would also add something between a second or two of extra use to even it out. (4 initial clicks is worth of 1,2 s in this scenario and 3+ flashlight saves are common so the math checks out).
I think it's important to remove to keep the game accessible (like, flashlight clicking can be an epilepsy trigger).

Honestly havent seen this many since the first day of his release which he died of pretty easy.
Now I play at a high mmr so i hardly see most killers, pinhead however was like the 7th most common to see (which i love him) and they always used the fang but never really did that great.
However today was consecutive pinhead matches all using his strongest addons before the nerf 🤣 I think 1 got a 3k while most others got 1-2k at best.
Honestly gave me a chuckle they're rushing to use the stuff before he becomes unplayable at the higher levels lol.
Imagine a high skill killer that has a questionable antiloop getting nerfed. Theres no hope for you killers nowadays 😂
I've actually never used my fangs as ceno.
I was too cheap, and I've been punished for my lack of hubris.

So she's similar to spirit. But unlike spirit, who the entity bargained with, it seems like The Artist has been completely corrupted into a vessel/host of the crows.
I'm pretty sure it's the crows* possessing her body, and not her. that was my interpretation, at least.
*since there aren't crows in Chile, these are either entity crows, the Chile equivalent of crows, or it's an alternate Chile.

Well, I have some good news - spoke to a twitch community that seems to have only lost bloodpoints or nothing at all. I was able to log back in finally and my account seems exactly where I left off - same number of bloodpoints and shards, same status of rift challenges that I completed today.
Not sure I want to push things and keep playing tonight, but that's a huge weight off my shoulders.
that's really a weight off my shoulders. honestly, thanks for keeping me in the loop.
still not playing today until there's an official statement or something, though.

Since I am currently banned from my favorite game, how can I still play and get that same level of satisfaction from gaming that I usually get from DBD. Are there any other games that I could waste hours obsessively leveling up my character and switching between survivor and killer and all the other goodies DBD offers witihout actually being DBD? Any suggestions? The withdraws may start soon.
I'm getting an asymmetrical horror board game published, so, that.
It's called Hunting Grounds.
I finished making it before playing DBD, and doing research on the market is actually what got me into DBD.

Nnnno? It's still broken because whatever's causing this glitch is still active. I don't know why you walked into this knowing that there was an account-eating error on the line. Knowing how much stuff was on your account won't help you - people in the past have provided proof of owning certain items or cosmetics and they still couldn't get BHVR to restore them.
to specify, when I said "I'll be fine, right?" I meant, "I won't lose my progress based on how far I got accidentally, right?".

So I've been seeing a lot of comments along the lines of 'Oh I have to try SO hard every game! It just isn't fun to play this way!'
So... and stop me if I'm missing something here... why do you? Just play with a casual level of effort, and if you get the 0k so what? Just keep playing casually and keep taking the meaningless 0ks until your MMR drops to such a point that you're up against teams that are about equal to your casual level.
This game has basically no penalty for loosing and minimal benifit to winning. Hell what is a 'win' and a 'loss' is not even properly defined by any official source. Its basically up to you to 'decide' if you won or not. But 4k, 0k, killed, escaped or sacrificed this is what happens:
You get BP in every outcome.
You can make tomb progress in every outcome.
Your grade cannot go down in any outcome.
Hell in some cases at lower grades you can die/0k and still pip.
Most games, even if you do very poorly, so long as you make some attempt to play you'll at least neutral pip.
There is no incentive to maintain a high MMR, and no penalty for not doing so. You don't even know when you have a 'high' MMR because you don't know what it is! So why are people so stressed over keeping a high MMR? Just dont. If you don't want to sweat just dont. So you might 'loose' a few games while your MMR lowers... oh well?
Am I missing something? IDK seems obvious to me. If yor tired of the other side sweating as hard as they can just don't do so yourself and your MMR will drop until you're up against people playing casually.
I already do that, in case that's worth anything.
I play pretty casually. MMR's actually pretty nice for that.

Tbh they haven't really dont anything to be nice for. They keep the most bs bugs in the game until a patch but patch out some small thing in 2 seconds. If you still don't believe me.... they banned for infinite mend legion but didnt ban for the breakdown bug because "you could still end the game without hooking".... If you look at that you can see they're just being ridiculous cause you could still end the game with infinite mend.
I'm not defending them, I'm just saying they're trying.

To compare what youre trying to tell me, is like me telling you that skiing is the best sport ever, but I never even went skiing, just watched it.
Cheaters have been way worst in the past, again because of how damn easy it was to do so. I dont know if the videos are still out there but it was basically just changing a number and all of a sudden you would become a speed demon.
Just because you have an interest in Old DbD just shows that you, like many others, are attracted to things you cant get/experience. Its like Legacy, people want it for its exclusivity, a small portion may want it for looks and some may claim its for looks how ever thats like a stretched res player saying they do it just because it looks nicer, its a lie. This was shown with the code exclusives, people wanted these cosmetics and the moment they got released to the public they seemingly became more rare than they were before.
Also the only reason why performance issues are mainly shown to be recent is because this forum was only created in Summer 2018. Take a look back on the Steam Forums and have a look for yourself, I still remember console players and myself because I didnt have a strong PC, complaining about The Doctor or Redforest, or hell the 2 combined. Would literally reach 10 fps at some points with those 2 combined, there were a few other maps with terrible performance, Shelter Woods being the biggest culprit, and the majority of Autohavens as well. Also remember Hag being unplayable on console and lower end PC's because every time she teleported the game would freeze for a bit. DbD was notorious at first with poor optimization, still is, and just recently is it starting to become terrible again.
I like current DBD, but I wish I could've tried old DBD so I could have a better frame of reference. I prefer current DBD by process of elimination.

As I said, there's something about this generation that makes a lot of them incredibly self-centered and more willing to spend time and energy on justifying them being jerks than just not being jerks.
It's not true of all millennials, sure - but it's damn well true of enough of them.
@StarLost said:

Naturally, not all millennials are like that.
But I've read multiple articles (and even the odd paper) on generational differences, and middle-upper class millennials (on average) tend toward a prolonged adolescent mindset, solipsism, apathy and a lack of self control compared to even Gen-X. It's sadly sort of a downward slope.
The reasons why...now that's an interesting discussion.
I don't think we should blame generations but rather the contributing factors that lead to those stigmas.

Doctor is high C tier. He doesn't compete with B tier killers like demo, twins, nemesis and cannibal.
His power suffers from bad hit reg at times and you can just predrop pallets then hold the W key to a new loop. He is punished more when you face better survivors.
Twins are better thant B tier, in my opinion at least.

Artist balance changes:
Crows can no longer injure survivors
Swarms are removed by simply pressing m1
Swarms that fly into walls die (birds tend to do that after all)
90% movement speed
After shooting crows, starts a 45 second cooldown until next crow can be deployed
Decreased number of crows from 3 to 1
These changes will make her fair and balanced and fun for the survivor side.
what do the crows even do, then?
if they don't do anything, what's the point? also, why reduce her speed like that?

"like others said", you literally are the first. And no, I have been here since the beginning.
Let alone that BHVR is an outsourcing company. The crew working on DBD actively is relatively small compared to the whole team.
As for increasing Trapper's traps from 1 to 2, you'd be surprised that that kind of change wasnt really needed for the majority of the time. It's the recent reworks of maps where Traps are more easily spotted that it truly became a necessity. Before, you could simply hide a trap in grass and you'd be quite certain it would catch a survivor off-guard and never needed to go back and reset it.
Just because a change became necessary recently doesnt mean it should have been implemented years ago.
also, they are definitely not the biggest.

I used to play Deathslinger all the time pre nerf. The ability to sneak up on survivors and quick scope them was so much fun.
after the nerf though I found myself playing more and more Huntress to a point where she’s now one of my favourite killers to play, and the more I play her the more I realise just how much better than Slinger she is, the only thing he had going for him over her was
- Quickscoping
- ”Stealth” I.e being able to sneak up on survivors more effectively
That’s now all gone, whereas Huntress can still
- Down over pallets
- Has near unlimited range
- Has better attack recovery e.g she can M2 into M2 or M2 into M1 faster than Slinger can ‘shoot, reel in, hit, reload, repeat’
So my question is, is there now any reason at all to pick Deathslinger over Huntress? And if not then I think the devs seriously need to consider reverting some of the nerfs because right now seeing anyone play Slinger anymore is rarer than a solar eclipse
"Get over here!"

I think “optimization” is what is killing DBD. It has no leaderboards. Rank resets as well. So I don’t get why everyone sweats so hard to win. 🤷🏽♂️
If more survivors used custom builds the killers might be encouraged to do so also. As well as pick lower tier killers.
What I really dream for is that in the end of DBD you can make your own custom survivor. Then you can select the standing animation of an existing character for the lobby. Like a hot chick that rubs her kitchen the way Tap does. A flamboyant guy that’ll look at his nails the way Yun-Jin Lee does. A thug that has David King’s scrapper animation. 🤣
totally agree.
-
@WaveyTrey said:
Instead of just doing what it takes to win… Putting yourself in a game if able makes it more immersive/fun. I’ve been winning a lot more. When I lose I’m not as upset either. It’s similar to picking a killer that best suits your approach. Some people can play a particular killer often, but can never really get the feel for them.
Say you’re a paramedic IRL. You’d have powers that’ll help/find injured people. If you’re an athlete you’d have adrenaline perks to utilize against a threat. If you’re a narcissist you’ll have selfish powers like Left Behind, or Fast Track. If you’re an activist you’d have something like For the People. If you’re intuitive you’d have “sense” powers like Premonition, Small Game, etc.
So based on my job (Pharmacy Tech), personality (Eccentric), and my lifestyle full of misadventures whenever I go somewhere… I decided that my “Personal” build is…
Streetwise. Built To Last. Pharmacy. Ace in the Hole / Mettle of Man.
I basically risk my own well-being to protect others, and that gets me into trouble. Looking out for others during their time misfortune keeps me going IRL. Even if it brings me misfortune. Whenever I go the extra mile to help people I “Shine” the most, and I see the change for better.
Obviously the build has its shortcomings. There’s killers like Plague that renders healing items useless. One Shot killers can deny the healthy state. The thing is who cares? The game is random. So you can play 3 nights without seeing a single Plague, or Ghost Face. Etc. It makes sense that if you make a particular build it’ll have a natural weakness. Much like having an arch enemy the way the survivors do in the game. In my case my “Arch Enemy” would be The Plague.
That’s my general take on DBD to make it more fun, at least for me. So tell me. If you were thrown into the Entity’s Realm what powers/perks would you have? Based on your profession, personality, hobbies, lifestyle, etc? Be honest! Because everyone in DBD wouldn’t have Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Decisive, and CoH. 😂
For Survivor:
Resilience (or some other "calm under pressure" style perk)
Calm Spirit (I'm good with animals.)
Windows of Opportunity (I've got pretty good spacial awareness)
Dance With Me (Since this perk is the closest to being music related)
I'll come up with a killer one in future.
On a similar note, this challenge is really fun for turning Killer powers into survivor builds.
