I really, really, REALLY like this idea.
Having a big open world to practice and vibe with other players with sounds like heaven.
For survivors, you can place them in one big map with resources and maybe a custom 'phantom' that acts like a killer without ever harming another player. Just teaches them how to loop.
Killers can have a giant realm with ever-respawning hooks and a bunch of dumb bot survivors. Everyone killing together and having a good time.
I 999% support this idea.
Knowing the devs, though, this would be a massive undertaking. I doubt we'd see anything for quite awhile.
Who knoiws, if this gets enough attention by the devs, I will defo try to push it and write it to the devs if they do another Q/A.

you wait that long to play killer? What time zone are you in and what time of day do you typically play? I’m in US eastern time zone and killer queues are instant no matter what time of day I play. Maybe less than a minute if I play early morning, which I can’t do except on weekends
I have the german timezone (CET) and I play around 0:00-6:00AM. I play that late cuz I dont like to encounter those super sweaty squads. I get them pretty often before 0 for some reason, guess MMR just loves me.

I think it would be a lot of fun to have some kind of giant practice realm where killers and survivors could mess around together while waiting for a match. The problem is there would never be any killers in there because they never have to wait for a match…
you do, I have usually around 5-10 min que times.

yea that sounds good, reminds me of the call of duty ww2 headquarters system, its a similar thing.
ye some games have that thats true
-
@Chappy04 said:
yea that would be fun, sorry if i missed this because im skimming through while in queues myself but would the game auto pull you out for the match. also would you be able to just go there without being in queue
Ye thats the point of it, that while you wait you chill there and as soon as the game found a lobby for you, you get an little indication that you have a lobby with survivors so you can choose to leave and prepare your build or check out the surviors or stay there till its the last 5 sec before start and then you load in automaticly.
I guess after some time it could be enabled at any time for ppl.
-
Shes hard to play and learn.
You know how gamers are these days, if something is too hard or requires some effort ppl immidiatly drop it.

Obviously the person who asked it cares. The real question is why are you so inflamed by his question as to cry/complain about it?
Cuz so many do that. I see it pretty often, it got already asked and discussed almost daily in the forums and twitter. Ppl seem to worry about this more then legion still beeing an M1 Killer which is just baffling to me honestly.
-
Why are so many ppl still crying/complaining about it?
Is it that important to you?
Will this make Legion the new S tier killer and beat Nurse?
For real yes it is weird and dumb but in the other hand, who cares? It doesnt effect or weaken Legion at all so why making such a big deal out of it?

I can confirm this is a bug. It won't happen every time, but sometimes it'll spawn more tiles than it's supposed to.
We haven't actually added more pallets to the House of Pain, don't worry.
Does this also goes to the Myers house (Basement house)? It spawns every time 2 god windows up there. I am actually confused why god pallets or windows still exist though...
-
@CashelP14 said:
I got to disagree. To me having something like this implemented is just giving people who want to derank an easy way to do it.
I also believe people will give up far too easily instead of actually continuing on the game and having a chance of winning. Here's some examples:
- "Oh I got cowshed. Ok I'm opening the doors."
- "Oh my Ruin was cleansed in the first 30 seconds. Ok I'm opening the doors."
- "2 gens were done before I got my first down. Ok I'm opening the exit doors."
Most of the top dbd players didn't get good at this game by giving up and sitting in a corner when things started to go bad. They got kept going and got smarter.
In regards to hackers this is just a bandage fix. Facing hackers is horrible to both sides but they need to address it properly.
Agree but you cannot take care of ppl like this. This will always exist just like in any other game.

My name is Starlost and I endorse this post.
My last game of the night...had a duo SWF that, when they started losing, decided to play hide-and-seek on Eyrie - just going from locker to locker, occasionally creeping out to touch a gen, avoiding AFK crows. Took me forever to find them. So bloody annoying that survivors can stall the game out like that out of sheer BM.

Sure. But it will save you from the hide-and-seekers and the forever squads.
That is a different kind of problem but I agree

You know the cheaters will just hold you hostage until 2 hours after EGC has counted down so it won't make any difference, right?
That is true but many cheaters dont do that, the most are trying to annoy as many ppl as possible. I encounter daily 2-4 cheaters (not exaggerating) and I NEVER met anyone who tried to hold me hostage. Most just either play normal and then start cheating once you are about to win or they just straight up kill the game buy flying around and do goofy stuff.

I would absolutely open the gates, farm with survivors and just hook one of them when the timer is halfway down to activate blood warden. They can just heal each other for altruism points while I smile and hope they don't figure out what I just did.
Oops timer is almost gone better get out of here little fellas.
you can do exactly that already

@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
This is bad idea because people can abuse it:
For example people who wanna farm shards or people who wanna de-rank mmr can start match and open gates immediately.
But killers can have this option if 3 gens already pop'ed. This would make it better.
Ye that sounds like a great compromise.
-
That is sadly the truth.
As long as survivors play pretty well and coordinated, there is very little you can do as Killer if you play a Mid to Low tier killer. You are just at the mercy of their mistakes and the map.

I get you! Just saying that for free perks available to all killers, they aren't that bad. But yep, there are much better information perks out there to protect generators these days - BBQ, Tinkerer, Pain Res, Discordance, etc.
I had some really cool ideas back then I collected for example:
Unnerving Pressence: Whenever a survivor hits a skill check in your TR they scream and reveal their location.
Predator: You hear foot steps 50% louder. Whenever you lose the chase of a survivor, show the aura of that survivor for 3 sec.
Shadowborn: Increase brightness by 20% of the game overall with the FOV increase together.
Territorial Imperetive: Same perk effect + after a survivor gets unhooked of the basement you see the aura of a survivor closest OUTSIDE of the basement for 5 sec.
Beast of Pray: Same perk effects + Whenever you reach bloodlust the survivor outlines are highlighted for the rest of the chase (Like myers when he stalks)
Huntress Lullaby: Same perk effects + The perk is disabled at the start of the game and a totem becomes lit on your first hook. + Increase skill check frequency by 10% on each stack.
Just some ideas I wanted to share if you are intersted :)

Hmm?! Whispers and Spies are some of the best tracking perks in the game! At least in my opinion.
I dont want to step on your opinion and I respect that fully.
However its a simple fact that crows are pretty good tracking tools by themselves, there is no need to equip a perk what crows anyway do.
Whispers is not reliable at all, sure you can find your first and last target easier, if you understand survivors spawns and know how to look for survivors efficiantly you will have little to no trouble finding survivors in the early game (Unless its a map that cucks you like swamp or indoor maps). So whispers is even in the early game useless and to equip a perk ONLY for the last survivor seems just not worth it to me.
There are some OG dbd players who throw around the argument with "you can triangle a area to pin point the position of a survivor". Well have fun trying to triangle an area for like 1-2 min meanwhile all gens pop, just leave the survivor and pressure gens instead or go for someone else.
Again not saying you are wrong, just trying to share some facts here.
Also Perks for beginners shouldnt do things that are anyway in the game easier, especially such obvious stuff like crows, scratch marks or blood. Beginners need help in the more harder parts of dbd which would be pressure, tracking and downing. (Not scratch marks, more like location or auras, Bitter murmur is a really good example of a perfect beginner AND overall good perk).

Whispers, Bitter Murmur, Iron Grasp, Sloppy Butcher, NOED, and Spies are all decent to good perks.
Nurse, Trapper, and Billy all have a couple good perks. Wraith's perks are decent for beginners. Huntresses are the only ones that suck.
Not every perk needs to be amazing.
Never said they need to be amazing.
I admit I forgot about Bitter Murmur, its also pretty decent I agree. Sloppy will get buffed anyway with the hemorraged rework which is also pretty nice. However Iron Grasp, Whispers and Spies are pretty dog and that comes from me who often switches up builds and loves to play often with very weird or underrated perks like Coupe de Grace, Hysteria, Deathbound, Trail of torment or Eruption.

Agreed, it was unjustly nerfed for no reason. Also Hope would be a much better perk if the timer was paused at least while hooked, but maybe also in the dying state.
more speed while on the ground is always good!
-
Should've stretch your res 5head!

I love Artist, I play her pretty often but currently I am busy prestiging other Killers so I have to use up their puddings. Sad though that 99% of the ppl are just too lazy to learn her properly. Happens to most Killers and perks that came out recently, dont know why ppl are so scared to try and properly learn new things.
-
Still dreaming about a agyptic chapter with a mummy killer in a pyramid tomb map ;(
-
Seems you misunderstood something there..
The trailer was not adapted well from Legion. The lore, ability and characters fit all perfectly together.. except the trailer.
The name Legion comes from the GRP of the 4 friends that always stick together no matter what. They are Teenagers who have a strong desire of freedom and want to do what they want without consequenses. Thats basicly what Legion IS atm and I dont see why a full rework is necessary here.
I love the FF, Legion is arguably pretty fun to play but just weak thats why Legion got buffs not a rework.

I have been all for this happening. This is nowhere near the top of the "dev priority list" though, so good luck...
There are currently hacker bots literally ripped from BHVRs unpublished game files all around the game. These AI work pretty decent on most Killers.

Maybe.
We all know DBD has an extremely low retention rate and people get burnt out quickly. Out of the 20K players who were there when Legion released on PC, how many do you think are here today especially after the disaster that was Darkness AMONG US?
It might not be 95%, but the majority of players playing then are not playing now. That's not exactly a stretch
You mean Jesus among us, loved those Jeff=Jesus memes back then
-
About that, after playing dbd for 5 years I got used to screams and find them kind of enjoyable, should I be worried?

I've said it before, I'd love a bot mode similar to For Honor where you can complete challenges, get BP/XP, progress through rift, etc. just make it so you don't pip/get grade rewards - save grades for PVP mode. Bot mode can be the more casual mode. Can set the bots up to use a variety of load outs so you can use variety of load outs to play against them.
Agree

@Huge_Bush said:
Doing something about hackers will require the devs to do something with the games messed up code, so don’t hold your breath.
They actually do. Every new patch fixes most of the weaknesses in the game. If you realize always at the first month after a patch you barely meet hackers, nor see any in streams or videos. Always after a while the hackers update the tools to the current patch and then the game is getting swarmed again just like right now. After the mid chapter none of them can play since they have to update the hacks first which takes some time.
I wish only that those bigger updates would come more frequently to fix the hacking issues more often.
-
Eruption - Paired with Pop its an amazing combo that can carry you pretty hard and save you alot of time and gens that wouldve pop with other perk combos.
Breakout - There are a decent amount of situations (roughly once in 2-3 games) where you can save 1 person with that perk. Dont even need sabo just the perk itsself can make a difference, especially in basement situations.
Also: Hangsmans trick for real its better then BBQ I am not joking. You have a constant reliable aura reading across the map mostly on each pick up. There is no counterplay to it, its amazing on most Killers, especially aggressive Killers like Blight, Oni, Nurse etc.

I'm wondering more how "weinersnitzel" is a word you need to use in a dbd chat
Someone was in my lobby who had a funny german name and me and my friend came into a short conversation with them about it. We just memed around and wrote stuff like "Ich mag BRATWURST" and stuff and I wanted to write "Mein Wienerschnitzel ist sehr lecker JA" and ye thats how I discovered it xD.

The point of a lullaby is to be unaffected by TR perks. Which means undetectable perks or perks that simply reduce the TR dont effect any lullaby of any killer at all.

Well actually they are working for some buffs solo-q. Just we don't know when or how. Just "soon".
They mentioned once that they are working on a "icon" system next to your survivor portrait. It will indicate what action you are doing like doing a gen, gate, chased or something. Nothing confirmed though.
-
you think the issue of noed is the movement speed? LOL
-
Lucky break is a meta perk and still one of the strongest survivor perk in the game. Its used in tournaments and competitive play frequently and has to be limited mostly.
Parental guidance is and was always a situation perk that CAN be strong in those certain situations, nothing has changed about it.
CoH will still be pretty good and the number changes wont do much to it.
Boil over was busted and made you unhookable on some maps.
Idk either you troll or your mindset is very limited and you just want to see top tier meta perks that are busted and carry your ass through the game like old DS or current dead hard. Maybe try to open up a little and play with other perks, its not like you are going to die immidaitly into the game, if you do then its more of a you problem not the perks.
-
A cooldown after it got snuffed would be way more efficiant and actually solve the problem itsself but well I cant complaing, a nerf is a nerf.
