Base (Free) perks reworks when?
I feel like dbd would be WAY more newcomer friendly if also the perks from the base game Killers would actually be decent.
Yes Billy, Nurse, Dwight, Claudette and Meg actually have all pretty decent perks but the rest of the perks are horrible. Most survivor perks are actually fine like We'll make it, Bond, Kindred, Spine chill and resiience still see play today.
However on the Killer side you have barely any good perks besides Noed, and tbf even noed is just mediocre. Especially Wraith, Huntress and Trapper have awful perks, more like pretty outdated.
Brutal is nice though, love that perk really <3

Well, technically Wraith’s perks are new player friendly. Which makes them bad for experienced players. I actually feel the opposite: killers have all the best general perks, survivors have some really garbage ones. This Is Not Happening, No One Left Behind...
I want my premonition buff. Please bhvr!!
Unnerving Presence is terrible but other Trapper perks are alright.
Like @GoshJosh said, Wraith perks are helps new players. Survivors also have this type perks. So they does not need to touch.
All Billy perks are good.
Stridor needs to back old version, other Nurse perks are good.
Huntress is only one has garbage perks. All of her perks need buffs or QoL changes.
No one left behind would be fine if it was reverted to it being the final gen done them changing it to endgame collapse only Nerfed it lol
Agreed, it was unjustly nerfed for no reason. Also Hope would be a much better perk if the timer was paused at least while hooked, but maybe also in the dying state.
more speed while on the ground is always good!
???
Whispers, Bitter Murmur, Iron Grasp, Sloppy Butcher, NOED, and Spies are all decent to good perks.
Nurse, Trapper, and Billy all have a couple good perks. Wraith's perks are decent for beginners. Huntresses are the only ones that suck.
Not every perk needs to be amazing.
Never said they need to be amazing.
I admit I forgot about Bitter Murmur, its also pretty decent I agree. Sloppy will get buffed anyway with the hemorraged rework which is also pretty nice. However Iron Grasp, Whispers and Spies are pretty dog and that comes from me who often switches up builds and loves to play often with very weird or underrated perks like Coupe de Grace, Hysteria, Deathbound, Trail of torment or Eruption.
Hmm?! Whispers and Spies are some of the best tracking perks in the game! At least in my opinion.
I dont want to step on your opinion and I respect that fully.
However its a simple fact that crows are pretty good tracking tools by themselves, there is no need to equip a perk what crows anyway do.
Whispers is not reliable at all, sure you can find your first and last target easier, if you understand survivors spawns and know how to look for survivors efficiantly you will have little to no trouble finding survivors in the early game (Unless its a map that cucks you like swamp or indoor maps). So whispers is even in the early game useless and to equip a perk ONLY for the last survivor seems just not worth it to me.
There are some OG dbd players who throw around the argument with "you can triangle a area to pin point the position of a survivor". Well have fun trying to triangle an area for like 1-2 min meanwhile all gens pop, just leave the survivor and pressure gens instead or go for someone else.
Again not saying you are wrong, just trying to share some facts here.
Also Perks for beginners shouldnt do things that are anyway in the game easier, especially such obvious stuff like crows, scratch marks or blood. Beginners need help in the more harder parts of dbd which would be pressure, tracking and downing. (Not scratch marks, more like location or auras, Bitter murmur is a really good example of a perfect beginner AND overall good perk).
I get you! Just saying that for free perks available to all killers, they aren't that bad. But yep, there are much better information perks out there to protect generators these days - BBQ, Tinkerer, Pain Res, Discordance, etc.
I had some really cool ideas back then I collected for example:
Unnerving Pressence: Whenever a survivor hits a skill check in your TR they scream and reveal their location.
Predator: You hear foot steps 50% louder. Whenever you lose the chase of a survivor, show the aura of that survivor for 3 sec.
Shadowborn: Increase brightness by 20% of the game overall with the FOV increase together.
Territorial Imperetive: Same perk effect + after a survivor gets unhooked of the basement you see the aura of a survivor closest OUTSIDE of the basement for 5 sec.
Beast of Pray: Same perk effects + Whenever you reach bloodlust the survivor outlines are highlighted for the rest of the chase (Like myers when he stalks)
Huntress Lullaby: Same perk effects + The perk is disabled at the start of the game and a totem becomes lit on your first hook. + Increase skill check frequency by 10% on each stack.
Just some ideas I wanted to share if you are intersted :)
