Yes but bigger maps make 90% of the Killer Roster unfun to play because they don't have that map pressure or can reach any of the farther Gens before they get done. Maps do need to be made smaller and cut the amount of safe tiles down.
Or do something about the gens themselves (not slowing the genspeed but help with the pressure build), this would be also a different way to approuch it, shrinking maps is only 1 of many solutions.

In lower ranks people are more likely to try and loop the killer because they dont all have the same perks... DH, BT, DS, etc. Take those safety nets away from 3 players and they're more likely to loop. And most killers will be more successful, even the ones most people assume are weak
I dont really see that, holding w has nothing much to do with perks its just a gameplay strategy just like camping or tunneling.

Camping, tunneling, gen rushing and hiding all game are all also valid ways to play with little to no interaction between the roles. I don't see how its any different for the 'run in a straight line' "strat".
Camping is just stand there staring at the Survivor as they die while the other Survivors bang out generators in peace.
Tunneling is just chasing one Survivor over and over while the other Survivors bang out generators in peace.
Gen rushing is just banging out generators at all costs while completely disregarding the wellbeing of your other Survivors.
Hiding all game is just sitting in lockers and bushes with minimal generator progress until the Killer gives up in frustration.
Yes you are right but I never said this fixes those problems? These are other issues that also needs adressing and you are absolutely right with that.

Suggestions like this have been made even before the current meta of holding W and anti-loop killers. The idea was simple. You reduce the size of maps and increase the frequency of pallets that are mind-gameable. Then you could nerf killers that had too much map pressure and adjust accordingly. Obviously this idea no longer works because of the vast amount of anti-loop killers in the game, but it's just another example of something that could've been done, that was suggested by countless popular players, to avoid the current scenario we are in.
Killers that get punished the most, and are the reason you never see them, are certainly the more M1-esque killers. But "statistically" they probably don't underperform where it matters (ie the majority of the playerbase and non-high MMR) therefore it's irrelevant. Realistically those killers are.. still plenty viable.
I disagree with that, I like having bigger maps. It hate wreckers yard BECAUSE it is so small, you run like 5sec and you already reach the edge of the map, I think thats a horrible feeling and doesnt really fit to dbd. Larger maps are more fun cuz survivors have more space to work with in the game and it isnt that easy to cuck your own teammates by accidently running into them while they heal or do a gen.
Also Killers like Artist, Blight, Oni etc are more fun on bigger maps, also it reduces the power of camping, its easier to protect an area and camp a hook at the same time with a smaller map. It has only advantages imo.

Disable perk stacking. No more holding W and most killers will be stronger because of it.
That's it... just disable survivor perk stacking
I dont really get what you try to say with that? What does this have to do with perks?

@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
Hit burst speed is already 2 seconds.
And this does nothing to help against killers whose entire basekit is designed to punish looping.
Why would anyone want to make it worse to play against the killers that are already the least fun to play against?
This change isnt supposed to help against those Killers, its to help the weaker killers that suffer from it like doctor is the best example, he is anti loop but has plenty of chances for counterplay.

@Superyoshiegg said:
The 'holding W' argument is so stupid.
Only the DBD community would complain about the opponent running in a straight line.
Wouldn't want to make it actually a challenge to catch anyone now, would we. 🙄
The thing is it is not a challenge, both players just hold 1 button till the Killer finally reaches you, it is both a boring way of gameplay and has no interaction with each other.
-
You can argue that this is an "exploit", however you have enough ways to counter it and it also requires a lot of skill, I dont see any issue with it.
With that argument you can also say that CG tech, locker CG or even 360s should be removed cuz its not "normal".

You are just assuming things.. i get a lot of tryhard swf and there is always something you can do better, just take to time to analize your match or record it and you will see that there is always a weak chain in them. None team its impossible to beat unless you are playing with the worst killer in the game like Legion for example..
And btw if you don't really care about toxicity in game chat then why do you complain about it every week like its the end of the world and like something that takes you away from the game? Its a bit contradictory.
Ofc I do mistakes and there are things I could do better, however the fact that I have to tryhard like my life is at stake and play pin point perfect to get even barely any hooks is not fun at all. I want to play dbd to have fun, not to sweat simple as that. I am simply requesting for a way to seperate sweaty tryhard players with casual plays or ppl who simply dont want to tryhard.
How do I complain about it every week?

Genuine question: What is the mistake that gets undone by NOED?
The mistake to not building or keep enough pressure or even get kills. You can also phrase it different and say more like noed gives you some free downs depending on the situation ofc, it doesnt happen always obviously but it does happen often enough otherwise there wouldnt be that much complaints about it.
Keep in mind that I am a killer main and even I am getting annoyed of this perk and I just play survivors like once a week.
However I like the idea of the perk itsself, just give it a requirement to get the effect like you have to hook to gain tokens and then you have that much insta downs as that many tokens or something.
-
it is not really a good perk nor meta, it is just unfun and boring.
It requires no effort or brain to use it, its just a second chance that kinda undoes your mistake just like dead hard.
Thats why I dont use it, I dont need a crutch, perks like Pop, Pain resonance, No way out, Ruin etc are much more fun and healthier perks, they all require you to do something to get value out of it and the reward feeling of it is just amazing. However you dont have such reward feeling on noed, its just for salty baby killers that try desperately to get kills which is just sad, a perk like that shouldnt exist.
-

When i face this teams, i don't follow their taunts (aka that annoying macro flashligh guy). Its best to ignore the "good loopers" and go for the lambs (the guys that like to hold M1 the entire match).
Doing that you will make less mistakes because thats what they seek besides annoying you. And surprisingly you can get sometimes 2 kill at least by not following their game, so staying calm its a good strategy.
And by the love of all good turn OFF the chat. Why are you even reading it?
You completly misunderstand the point here also it seems you dont get often good teams. It is obvious that you dont chase the best looper in the team but what if everyone is a good looper? Every single one of them can loop nearly perfect and uses those tiles efficiantly.
Also I dont care about insults, it doesnt bother me, infact it entertaints me.

Yeah, like some matches that we have, the killer down a survivor really quickly and the survivor DC for nothing ruining the game for everyone, I like to play for hooks too, is more fun, you play, the survivors play, everybody get happy and blood points.
DBD have a lot of toxic players, not everyone, but a lot, DBD in fact is the first game I played that I meet so many toxic players, they turn mad just because you play good or bad and curse you for no reason.

Not for nothing, you are playing a game, like i said, try to make it fun in your own way. Sometimes i play hide and seek with really bad survivors. I played a group who started really bad, so i ran and hid. They never found me
Exactly, I do try to make the game fun in my way, I play with fun perk combinations or addon combos, try to play in unique ways. However this is getting disturbed by ppl to rush gens or tryhard for their lives like its a tournament, its hard to ignore that if you just want to have fun, especially if you get this over and over.

well I never say I care about kills, I care about the gameplay itsself, I could 4k every single game 50 times in a row but if these where kills with survivors dying on their first hook I dont feel very rewarded and its not fun at all. Idk why everyone is so obsessed with kills...
dbd is also fun by actually playing

I appreciate the effort and detail so il keep my response short. Play what you enjoy. if you enjoy killer but it sucks, maybe change your goals as killer. I like to be in character as killer, dont really care if i dont get multiple kills, i just like being in the zone, the gameplay. Stalking, chasing. Even if the survivors are turds i just enjoy my side of the game the best i can. If all else fails, go looking for the fifth survivor until they game ends. 30 seconds later you could be in another game. I hope this helps.
Well my goal is simply to get hooks and points but if you meet those sweaty squads there is little to nothing you can do about, unless you decide to play op killers and perks yourself however you never know if the next game is again a more chilled game against survivors that dont sweat that much and that is the thing that annoys me, you never know what you face and IF you are unlucky well you gotta accept that you are gonna waste 10min of your life for nothing.

I mean if you want to fix the "Hold W" meta then you need to address killers whose powers completely shut down loops in general. Why would you waste time trying to actually play a tile against so many of the newer killers when their kits tends to punish people for trying to do anything BUT hold W.
I wouldnt say so, I woud approach this in a different way. I would buff the basic attack, currently the basic attack has no difference of a "power hit" and therefore weaker killers that suffer from holding w are in a disadvantage compared to other killers that have mobility and power hits. Why not making that the basic attack gives the survivor a shorter hit burst compared to a power hit, which means weaker killers get a better chance against holding w since they only have a basic m1 like lets say Doc.
I dont remember the exact numbers but the hit burst was 3 sec? So reduce it to 2 sec, if a Blight for example does a rush hit its the same 3sec hit burst so stronger Killers do have actually no change it all. Meanwhile Nurse blink hits should also be FINALLY changed to a power hit so she doesnt benefit from this change but also annoying exposed perks dont along with nurse aswell, I believe this should be a thing a long time ago anyway.

It is really important to remember that toxic players aren't human. Their words have as much meaning as the spider on your wall. If that guy told you that you were worthless, would you care? Probably not... It is a spider, fam. If anything, I adamantly believe a spider has more value than a toxic player. So realistically, if you had to take one's opinion to heart, it really should be the spider.
But guess what? A spider literally doesn't care. So what was the problem, again?
I dont really care how much insults ppl throw at me, for me its more about that gameplay, I dont like getting faced with these sweat lords and meanwhile I run around with my lvl 40 killers trying to do challanges.

You're going to have win streaks and you're going to have losing streaks. I'm confused what you feel would be better. If somehow you only got 4ks or 4ks with some 2ks or every game a 2k?
Anyway, I don't see any issue with you getting sweaty survivors. You're going to lose and when you do it's going to be verses people who are better than you (also referred to as sweaty on these forums). Why did you even post this to this forum?
The issue is not about the kills, I dont care if I even got 20 0ks in a row, I want hook games. I rather have a 12 hook game with 0k than a 2k with 2hooks, its boring killing someone on his first hook and also not fun at all trying to get your first hook till all gens pop.

Those 20-ish levels with no challenges to back them up were precisely what I disliked. Then again, I used to play in a duo swf a lot, so maybe we just did the challenges too efficiently. And starved ourselves of the extra matches padding the challenges.
I think you also didnt made use of the daily reward, you got (still to this day) for your first game on each side, killer or survivor double XP for the rift. So around 1k which was always a free shard basicly. 2 shards (2k xp) each day and the rift is 60 days there, 120 shards which are 12 levels for 1 single game on each side. And I am just counting the 800 Xp per shard, I skipped now the 400 missing xp per day, I am honestly too lazy to do the match but I guess you get my point. Idk its really not that big of a deal imo.
If ppl would really put their heads into how do play it properly which isnt really rocket science then it wouldnt be a big issue for anyone really unless you play the game like 1-2 games a entire week but I doubt that if you play this game that rarely that you really care that much about the rift. Again like most of the times ppl just complain about stuff without really trying, not saying though the change was bad, its cool and its always better to have a faster progression just saying that the rift wasnt impossible or hard as ppl claim it to be.

She was mind-game killer but she was so op with Stridor. Spirit mains did this to themself. Spirit's counterplay was to mind-game. You had a chance against her if you were unpredictable. But they destroyed this with Stridor. So people really hated her. Probably she was one of the most hated killer on all DbD history. So we know end of story but i am glad she is still decent killer.
Why is it the killers fault of ppl decide to play like that? Also it was due to a perk not because of the Killer itsself xD

Rift Fragments taking 500 match XP instead of 800 per.
Made the battlepass soooo much more manageable. I still play daily, but not that many matches. Thanks to that change, I can hit tier 70 without totally burning out midway through.
That was weird, if you do most of the challanges of all level you will hit easily 50 and while you played those games for the challanges you anyway got easly the other 20 levels.
I can tell this cuz I was even pushing 2 rifts at the same time in the same month, I girl friend of mine was at vacation at the first rift and I did her rfit aswell while I did mine. And I didnt even needed to play that much, I was just doing the challanges.

Wraith buffs were good but then nerfed him, why?
New hook skill checks are also good, i don't need to spam space anymore.
Also thanks god, i can drink my coffee while i am fixing generators now. This was also good change.
Plague buffs were good.
Most people hates but i really love new Coldwind maps, they looks so good and unique.
Spirit nerfed fairly, she is not dead but she is not op either.
I love coldwind too :D however the loops are even bigger and not mindgameble which sucks imo, dont know why BHVR loves adding those big ass open loops which just promotes holding W and break gameplay.
I think the Spirit nerf was kinda overkill in that sense that she is not a mindgame Killer anymore, she uses the phasewalk now only to catch up like a blight rush nothing else, you can perfectly hear now from where she comes which well I dont want to play a knock off blight simple as that, I just play other movementspeed killers rather then spirit.

If I recall, he had a brown that was basically necessary and was made mostly basekit. Rat liver? It's...been a while.
It was a minor rework, but the change opened up his builds.
no the rat liver wasnt necessary, it was a misunderstanding of ppl. What the addon did and still does is increasing your movement speed AFTER the animation, so if you hold your power and walk around with that. The moment while you open the mouth is still the same, so you will get a difference of like 0,5% movementspeed if you do a instant shred which you most of the time do anyway, you rarely hold the power and walk around.
But ye they nerfed rat liver and gave the half of it to the basekit but it does barely anything, scott jund also made a video about that showing the exact distance changes, its a difference of like a half meter so ye, not really a big deal.

Agreed on new wiggle thing, the wife yells at me on a nightly basis due to the hammering of my mechanical keyboard. Really great change.
From me:
- SBMM. I know it's a touchy subject, but the game now compared to when I started under ranks is so much better. Before, maybe 2/3 of my games were crap. Now it's...maybe 1 in 5. I'm worried though due to my ever shortening killer queues and ever growing survivor queues that the prime-time SBMM meltdown is going to become the norm.
- Agreed on keys. I wish they had a bit more of a purpose, but it was never fun to lose 3 people suddenly.
- Pain Resonance is my favorite DbD perk of all time. It requires some interesting decision making, has plenty of counterplay, but is strong and satisfying to use.
- MAC level bans for hackers...yeah. We need more, but it's a good start.
- The Plague and Demogorgon reworks were fantastic, both just feel incredible to play now. Plague in particular.
- The game balance is in pretty much the best shape I've seen since I started.
- While I'm not a fan of the map as a killer, Eyrie looks spectacular. I just can't bring myself to hate it, despite the fact that I know it's spectacularly badly designed.
- Artist is one of the best killers BHVR has ever made, and I'll never get tired of playing her.
- OoO getting nerfed was such a positive change.
- Extremely excited about Ringu. Never expected it to be added!
Demo didnt really got any change, only his addons where changed but I agree there, his addons are really cool now. The cooldown of the travel is shorter and your undetectable after coming out of the portal is 1 sec longer

I'll start of by saying I really like how much the cosmetics have improved over time, and despite most people hating them I do like sets (although I do wish most had their head/weapon piece unlocked).
Furthermore most of their killer reworks have been for the better, with the only one I have reason to dislike being the Freddy one as a certain forum user keeps on saying original Freddy was better, so I take their word for it.
I like the originality of the last few non licensed killers we've had (Twins, Trickster, Artist) even if Twins is still a buggy mess and Trickster isn't the strongest.
Lore has improved greatly and it's clear when you compare early lore (such as looking at any of the original 4 survivors/3 killers lore entry) and I think the archives were a great addition to expand on this lore.
Despite me not having played the game in a month, the game was still enjoyable when I left and it felt fun to play with random combinations without the intent on getting a 4k.
Finally, like you mentioned, the more recent chapters have included some great perks, some that are strong and some that are fun, shaking up the meta a bit which was getting stale on both sides.
I have to respectfully disagree with Freddy, I am also a old time player and I remember clearly how a Freddy was bullied to oblivion heavily (every single time) cuz he was literally the weakest killer in the game. If you didnt know, the old freddy cannot injure you, he had to put you into sleep which took roughly 6 sec without addons, so imagine this, Freddy walks up to you and then he has to wait next to you 6 sec till he able to hit you, meanwhile you can reach a save loop or tile. If you had some braincells and you know it was a Freddy you would always stay near a tile just in case so there is little to now way for you to get a hit, and keep in mind that was his ONLY ability, he was a pure m1 killer. I think old Freddy was just dumb and boring asf and I cannot understand how ppl can ever defend that, I think its just nostalgia that drives ppl to that.
I agree with the lore, lore is really good now, well except from Artist, I think her lore is abit... dull and ends too quickly, I believe though they set up the tome for that lore anyway and thats why its written so weird.

I for my part only play if I feel chilled survivors are online. WIth chilled I mean survivors that play to play and not to win as quick and fast as possible with every single way to use an advantage like op items.
I go mostly online, play 1-3 games and then see how it goes, if I get too often sweaty tryhards then I just quit and play something else for a few days till I feel like I wanna try it again. For example currently I played 6 hours killer, I had very fun matches overall, a decent amount of kills and also met 2 new friends (survivors, I know it sounds weird that a killer main makes friends with survivors but it is possible).
Maybe you can try it like this aswell dont know.
-
Camping is just as a valid and boring strategy to win as genrushing or hiding all the time. Deal with it I guess
-
Not sure if this is just a troll or not
-
Now I have to think about Demon slayer, tengen oof

As long as survivors play save and dont give away too much openings for the Killer then they will control the entire flow of the match, the Killer can very rarely create pressure on him own, he always has to wait and hope for the survivors to do a mistake and THEN he can make use out of that mistake and start building pressure.
If you are not able to build that pressure or in other words of the survivors didnt gave the Killer an opening to create pressure the gens will steam roll and pop one by one and there is little to nothing the killer can do about it. The only chance is then to get somehow kills in the endgame and imo the endgame is not really that fun in dbd since the survivors just need to run out of the gate once they are save. The section of the gen (early and midgame) is the most fun part of dbd imo, having gens you want to finish or the killer may come back to protect the gen or area and having a back and forth with a fight about a specific area or gen is really fun and easily the best part of dbd.
You can argue that the endgame can be a nice concept or not, I would say it is not, the Killer should definatly be able to create his own pressure by his own and therefore keep the game longer in the early game.
Survivors have a similar issue but still different. Once too many mistakes have been made and there is a huge snowball going on, it is mostly very hard to recover out of it and reset, you will most likely be stuck in that loop of snowballing and will eventually die OR the killer does a big enough mistake.
Same thing, it does feel like you have very little control over that and that can be very frustrating.

So either BT or kinda BT is becoming a base kit, or they will see it not as a great solution and not add it. But BHVR and bad decision/solutions is match made in heaven
I am aware of this, I also watched the stream, still doesnt mean BT as basekit. Just saying dont get the hopes up too high.

They never said that bt will be base kit but ok.

Its called nostalgia for a reason and its nothing special or new.
Mostly if you get the chance to "revisist" the old game or memory it isnt as good as it was back then.
Best example was world of warcraft, after they implemented the classic servers the vast majority quitted the game after 1 week cuz they got bored of it. Ppl realized that classic wow wasnt as good or "a masterpiece" as they remembered it to be.
And dbd is no exception here trust me.
