  • I like how a very Christian man wanted to make sweet wholesome Christian games to entertain Christian kids who might be sheltered from satanic elements found in other games...except all his reviews said his characters seemed very wooden, scary, and creepy. He got so fed up, that for his swan song at his last game he went in with the mentality of (oh, you think my characters are creepy? Fine, I’ll just create a horror game and see if you were right).

    Instant Success lol

The man got trolled into making a horror game, expecting to scare nobody and became the face of Indie Horror. This story cracks me up so much.

  • If they got a key, no big deal, I’ll let you have it and treat the game fairly normally...but if you last second switch to key.

    God help you.

  • Never heard this comparison, I was gunna argue against it but I saw 5-6 posts that expressed my opinion already.

I don’t use Clown as much as I use to, specifically not since his antidote was introduced, but I use to be a Freddy main. Even after his rework, I stuck with Freddy for quite awhile, an I never once had the thought (this feels like Clown).

They really have different set ups and strategies, at least how I play them.

  • Cant have a FNAF chapter, makes all the “grown ups” who play this video game, feel uncomfortable because FNAF starting target audience is PG-13.

Ya know, the same way Adults should be embarrassed to go to Disney World, Play Pokémon, or collect stuff animals.

    Derp.

  • I really wanted to play Deathgarden, but I’m on console.

  • Take a key forehead.

    (just joking, good luck)

  • Dont you know that bringing in the BP boosting offering just makes Bubba stronger?

  • If it’s Chucky I might celebrate harder then these K-pop girls.

You think I won’t create my own fan fiction or draw illustrations of Chucky, dipped in BHVR.

    Ill do it.

    It is your choice.

I used to be very toxic, but I learned how to better myself and while I am ashamed of who I used to be, I am proud of how far I have come. Sometimes, people just need a little positivity in order to change :)

Right, you use to be Toxic, when you were inexperienced, just like this Killer. His topic title was like ‘The Still Unexperienced Killer’, so he needs to go through the baptism of toxicity to grow as a Killer.

I think it’s a very natural and important stage of a Killer.

After riding the circle jerk of pain, he’ll mature and become more focused and disciplined. I believe that one day, you will face a clicking clickity click and you will simply turn your back on him and murder all others, shaming him and his inability to antagonize and distract you.

Then return once more and create another Topic. Name it: The Now Experienced Killer.

  • If you truly wanna use any means necessary to upset the survivors , but still legitimately play the game. Then Tunnel, but you can’t be obvious about it. Walk far enough to trigger a save, then Haunt back to hook. Maybe consider Make Your Choice perk, that way you could possibly score both.

Hook the new guy first and right now you still seem like a decent killer who is just trying to take advantage of a perk you brought.

Then get the second guy(who was your first hook), you could choose to leave him down and safe guard both him and the hook, but he might have Unbreakable or Soul Guard and you’d have to eat that perk and possibly DS later. Better to try and roll the dice on pick up and eat the DS early. After you down him again, hook him and force him into second stage. Camp him. Stay near hook till he dies.

If they bomb the hook, fight through BT, fight through Body Blocks and stay focused on that death-hook survivor.

Get him out of the game. Repeat till satisfied.

Just dont lose focus on your tunneled survivor, especially if they are on Death-Hook. Also don’t recommend camping from first hook. Many gens will be popped and they will have plenty of opportunities to prepare an exit strategy and play the ‘Protect the President’ game and escort him out of the Realm. Got to mix up a little pressure with your Tunnel and Camp when it benefits you most, not them.

Use all the least liked strategies to the best of your ability and you too can fill your salt mines to maximum capacity~

  • Well, it’s discouraging to you but full-filling to others. It’s suppose to give a sense of pride and accomplishment. The problem though, is it is a hollow system. I can literally P3 a Blight and never once have played him. Survivors don’t see a fully bloody Killer and think, ‘Wow, this guy put some serious time into Blight, he is probably good, I should take this match more seriously then usual.’

    No.

They think, ‘Damn, this guy spent a ton of BP for Blights bloody cosmetic. I wonder if they even know how to play him lulz.’

My point is, I rather BP be only spent on the character that earned it. Ya know, from the beginning. I realize that ship is long gone and I’m not advocating for the change. Back off~

  • Shouldn’t Survivors just be able to hold their totem and the Killer has to put you into the dying state before e they can remove it? Like, the Hex for survivor takes up their item slot and can be countered.

Much like Killer, it’s risk reward and might revamp the necessity of immersed builds who will center around not going down early so they can maximize the benefit of the Hex they brought in.

  • Game was scary to me until I researched game mechanics and strategies. Then it’s all just math.

  • 4 med kits? If we could still Killer swap, Id totally bust out my Plague. God BHVR really does any and everything to protect their little money banks~

Firstly, let me clear out why does "trickster" doesn't work. New killer is a musician, k-pop superstar, artist and a murderer who thinks that killing is an art. Nothing about him says "tricks". The only time such thing as "tricks" was mentioned was the beginning of his bio where his youth was described. The Trickster doesn't describe his persona, power or character.

You said that he "performs knife tricks" but that's wrong. He doesn't perform knife tricks, he just throws knives. At best you can call that "trick shots", but not tricks. Knife tricks is something you do when you flex with your butterfly knife flipping skills.

The ENTIRE point of the "alias" every killer has (at least the OG killers) is to shortly describe a character or give a clue of their persona, main trait or power. I'll even elaborate and say that the "alias" represents the "trope" the killer is made of.

"Trickster's" alias doesn't represent neither of things I mentioned above multiple times. "The Superstar" or "The Artist" are much better options since they shortly describe who the killer basically is.

Secondly, I'll explain why every single other killers' alias works:

    • Trapper - name describes his power
    • Wraith - name gives a clue what his power does - makes him invisible
    • Hillbilly - name describes his character (a hillbilly)
    • Nurse - name describes a trope this character is based on (nurse killer)
    • Hag - name describes one of her main traits, knowledge of magic symbols that are usually known to witches (or hags). Also, it describes her appearance, since she does look like a hag.
    • Doctor - name describes a trope this character is based on (doctor killer)
    • Huntress - name describes multiple things about this character - it gives a vague clue of her power and describes her character (she's a hunter)
    • Clown - name describes a trope this character is based on (clown killer)
    • Spirit - name once again describes a trope this character is based on (something about japanese view on ghosts and vengeful spirits that also move very unpredictably and look pretty much like rin)
    • Legion - name describes main trait of characters it unites (being a part of a "Legion" that was a defining thing in their lives) the worst name of a killer so far, but there's not really anything else that could be used to describe them.
    • Plague - name describes a thing that lead character to what it is now, as well as it describes a new nature of a character. She is literally a human manifestation of the Plague.
    • Oni - name describes the main trait of a character (a brute ogre demon)
    • Deathslinger - as you said, wordplay on a gunslinger, name pretty much explains what his power is.
    • Blight - name once again describes a thing this character became a manifestation of. Talbot Grimes is basically human manifestation of the Blight corruption and this corruption is now a defining thing in his character. If you read the lore before Descent Beyond release, you could even guess that the "Blight" would be just as aggressive and volatile as blight affected critters in the notes of 2018 event.
    • Twins - name once again describes the main trait of a character and gives a huge clue on their power.

Then we have "The Trickster" whose name describes a minor fact in his bio that was immediately forgotten. This name has the least connection with the killer it is supposed to represent than literally any other name of any other killer in the game. This name sucks ass and the only reason it will not be change is because it is too late.

Oh man, glad you were willing to point out his mistakes. I couldn’t believe he wasn’t pointing out any of the tropes.

Anyway, it won’t happen but I would also like it changed.

My friend, who no longer plays DbD but knows generally enough for me to mention some DbD related news, had asked me about the new killer.

So I sent him a picture. He scoffed at the new Killer and said it reminded him of Jared Leto version of Joker. Then I told him he was called the Trickster and busted into a guttural laugh and exclaimed “It is the Joker!”

  • This might be an epidemic. Is their really no hope?

Oh well, can’t say I didn’t try. I’m coming back BBQ!

  • Well, at the very least, I know the first one to die will probably be Deathslinger...and the one who kills him will be whoever he stupidly starts dragging to himself.

Also, Good Boy Demo is guaranteed a 1v1, after he returns from hiding out in the upside down lol.

    Cool, play your way

    I'll play mine.

If it makes any difference, I didn’t get an edgy vibe from your statement...but I did see you profile pic as Doctor and my default impression of Doctors are that they are very serious murderers and only use edgy tools.

  • Take away the BP bonus and give it to another perk and, I promise you, you’d barely see BBQ. In all honesty, I thought this was gunna be a discussion about Pop + Hex: Ruin. For some reason that seems more offensive to me then a perk that promotes healthy game play. :/

  • Which Plague you gunna be? The one that is quick to make em sick or the one that sees the need to make them bleed?

  • Your as bad as they are: but I personally find that acceptable.

    Your both cheating.

  • You lost a downed Dwight? Did you check the nearest locker? :/

  • Between you guys and the new AVGN episode, starting to think I need to watch the Shrek movies 🤔

  • I’m so sick of hunting down pained survivors, only to find an item, a pool of blood, and a mean looking meat hook.

I get it Hooky, you did great, now shut up.

  • Mandy will just say that any dates given are just speculation and nothing has been officially said.

    Unofficially: Next week.

  • Another fun discussion would be how BHVR plans to kill DbD. Your popular proven choices.

    • Create DbD 2 (but it actually have to be better then original or we will just go back)
    • Create a perk so broken that it’s impossible to enjoy the game. Double down and do not nerf it and say it’s good.
    • Stop making chapters and fixing bugs, go radio silence until you decide to shut down servers.
    • Buff all Killer Perks and nerf all Survivor Perks.
    • Introduce the dreaded FNAF chapter.
  • Your the weak link but because your the unimmersed weak link, the killer appreciates you and wants to kill the other guy more.

    He let’s you go.

After you leave, he comes back to the realization that it would take too long and be too boring to actually track the other player.

    Killer returns to kill you.

  • I think he specifically means the ‘same’ killer, like the same person. I’ve restarted lobby, as killer, and have had same survivors load in b4. I either dodge because I already took the SWF gut punch or I dodge because I already decimated the Swf noob troob and feel bad about doing it twice.

  • I’ve dropped Gearhead comments randomly in this forum for the last week. I also want Justice <_<

it wasn’t right BHVR and nobody understands why you did it.

  • He’s spent more time at high level play and it’s fried his brain a little. I just treat him like Grampa War Vet and enjoy his stories.

He’s not wrong though, but again, as you pointed out, he is referring to the doomsday SWF try hard squads and for the average person, that’s not a usual thing.

If I got paid to play DbD and had to play top level on a daily basis, for as long as he has, I’d probably sound worse. I’d be showcasing how survivors can pop gens in 40 seconds and just have a 10 minute video where I show my friend doing two generators lol.

  • Next chapter, as a community, let’s just ask for the opposite of what we want and then see what happens. Like, this p2b, people should have expressed how strong he was and recommended we remove that ricochet add-on entirely...

Maybe then we’d have a buff version with cool built in trick shots...

  • you can’t do 1 letter posts buddy. Might wanna go with something else~

  • Instead of a lift and carry, a dragging motion might be more “realistic” looking. Just give it the same speed as that tenacious perk and maybe give some recovery var for every meter dragged, up to 30/40/50%.

    Thats my stab at it.

  • As a Killer main, not really big on having less hooks, but I get the point that Sabo is a dead technique and perks that focus on fighting against the wiggle mechanic are weak.

I like my hooks, but I’m not against buffing some perks or trying to make Sabo more useful the (real) problem, just like always, is whatever you try to make viable for Solo Survivors becomes god like in the hands of survivors.

Id rather not get a repeat of a game where every1 kept running to a corner of the map (when injured) and others would pop hooks if I ever picked anyone else up.

In this case, I think it’s more important to let killers keep hooks and not trust BHVR to find a balanced solution. Survivors gotta bite the bullet on this one :/

  • Gearhead...I haven’t had a good nights sleep since Deathslinger. Why do you do these things BHVR >_<

  • I could not control it. Hated it.

Tried to firecracker save Nancy as Clown was carrying her to basement. Blinded myself, ran into a wall, and got pinky fingered :c

Alright, this is my favorite story so far. I needed a laugh, thanks for the reply.

  • I dunno if it will work now, but when I got mine, I used an Anti-healing build + pop.

    • Thana
    • nurses
    • sloppy
    • pop

At the time, the casual survivor tactic with Deathslinger was to stay healthy, because his shot only really counts when your injured.

Not sure what the meta against him is right now, I don’t play him as much as I use to.

  • I also once tried using Fredd and his ‘fake’ pallets. Forgot that I was doing that mid-game. Happened to chase a survivor and kept paying respects to my fake pallet that I didn’t want to be smashed with...but the survivor was just faking the throw and mind-gaming me. Eventually, when I built up the courage to take the pallet stun and the Survivor dropped it, the pallet exploded into blood and shocked us both.

I downed him shortly after but he was wiggling aggressively in the ground (I know you were laughing at me >_<)

The point is more that getting to survive the whole game is already hard enough without the need to get to a gate and actually fully open it.

Quite often you'll either be in a chase, on a hook, just behind someone else or the killer will interrupt you at the gate and someone else will open it.

It's not like you can use the perk Wake Up!, that's a joke perk really.

It would be one thing if we were forced to accomplish a daily but your free to delete something you don’t like, at least once a day.

Not to mention, from your perspective it’s a hard task so it must not be a good daily, but to others it’s a ‘challenge’ and something they look forward and rewarded for accomplishing.

I really don’t think dailies should be any easier.

  • They are trying to get you to do different things on daily. You think I always play Plague? Nope, but my daily said I should and so had a lot of fun and played her a few more games.

Granted, survivors are all cookie cut clones, but maybe the experience might show that you don’t always have to play P3 Claudette to have a good game <_<

  • I’d rather you said they discounted this chapter (even if only for two weeks) as a formal apology to the community for how indescribably awful the last one was. This reason? I don’t think we technically have ever payed for maps, they just release with chapters. The description doesn’t say new killer + survivor + map. It only ever mentions killer and survivor or just one or the other.

  • We all had similar ideas when they dropped the Legion trailer, because they made it seem like you could blend in or trick the survivors.

So, I have heard of the Doppelgänger idea, just not with it being associated with Pennywise. I might be wrong but I thought Pennywise shapeshifting was related to your fears and insecurities, not sure why he would mimic others in trial, unless you have trust issues lol.

Personally, I’d prefer Pennywise power to be centered around his red balloon. Like, the more balloons you see around the map, the more powerful you know he has become. I think a psychological attack like that could be his thing.

I dunno about actual perk or power, I just want scary red balloons.

  • It’s a perk that basically forces the killer to slug, if they wanna capitalize the use of the perk. Not like it’s an Aura reveal and it lasts 10 seconds. It also, very clearly gives you an audio clue when it takes effect.

How about...I dunno, adjust your strategy because of the perk. It can only surprise you once, after that you shouldn’t be near the chased survivor. Even if it procs, you should know to bolt immediately and buy enough time for a pick up or self revive.

This perk is really only effective against the lazy survivors/ill informed survivors, who don’t react, and the self entitled survivors who think they are looping gods, who stay near the killer despite the location reveal.

    Perk is fine, IMO.

  • I always put Demo in G-Tier.

Because he is a Good Boy.

  • Encourage survivors to save each other? Just do the usual and band aid fix it with a new Survivor Perk.

Like if a Survivor gets to an empty hook, they can interact with it (like placing a hand upon it). Call it ‘Channeled Energy’ or whatever.

Whenever, CE is activated, the hook will visibly glow yellow for both the Killer and all Survivors.

-If Killer places a Survivor on a hook, while a Survivor has activated this perk (on a different empty hook), then the Hooked Survivor timer will be halted for as long as the Survivor continues to Channel Energy, up to 40/50/60 seconds. You can not struggle while Energy is pouring through you.

So now when your getting picked up by Killer, you may see a hook light up and be like a beacon of light on your dark night, giving you warm fuzzies. At the very least, a Survivor can force you to breath and take a second to calm your dumb ass down, for at least 40 seconds, maybe preventing you from 1st hook suicide in your blind rage.

Killer would know where another survivor is, tempting him to leave the hooked survivor and, if he so chooses, he could still camp out. If he is the camper type, he might have to wait an extra minute but he knows at least one other survivor isn’t doing nothing so it’s not All bad.

  • Hag huh?

What if, she could still put traps down at hook, they could still be triggered, and we didn’t add a new way to erase traps...buuuuuuut....

Hag traps start to glow red, and become more visible, whenever the Entity enters the Realm/Game.

So...whenever a perk summons the Entity (even a survivor perk can do that), or a survivor is in second stage, which has the survivors struggling against the Entity...then all her traps become more visible.

At the very least, survivors will be more mindful not to trigger traps, especially when someone really can’t afford the mistake, and also adds more flavor to the Hag.

    Just a thought.

  • Well if you end up in my game, I’m gunna hook you and give you a couple of smacks.

”NO! That’s a Bad Survivor, BAD! We do not Clickety-Click in this house realm. NO!”
