Almost sounds like facing a sweaty swf squad is no fun … I wonder why.
Nah for real OP is on to something. The difference communication makes is quite big the official stats show that too. However this game is not easy to balance but that is mostly because bhvr as a dev company is not very good and keeps tripping over itself

Except that SWF does not mean sweaty SWF. Most people in an SWF are just playing to have fun, they dont play in an SWF to win every game. And there is 0 distinction between them when it is shown who is in an SWF or not.

Yet SWF is the ultimate Scapegoat for bad Killer players - they dont lose games due to their mistakes, they lose games because their opponent was in an SWF.

There should be less information. Gameplay-wise there is 0 point in keeping that much information, and even less of a point to give more information to the Killer, since all information is just used to dodge the Lobby.

  • So that Killers can cherrypick their Lobbies even more?

  • @Ayodam said:

I could be wrong but I thought MMR was disabled for events and special game modes.

Not disabled, but should not change. So you would still have your MMR for Matchmaking purposes but you would not gain or lose any MMR.

Source for that? Since you say "100%" I expect a source and not "I think it is that way".

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

i think Shoulder of burden is the type of perk that has potencial to create permanent slugging meta. This perk is forbidden perk that might get deleted in the game for being too strong/impossible to balance around. something to look out for.

if i start losing games to shoulder of burden as perk, i am 100% going to be a killer that slug every survivor, every single game with no second thoughts. slugging to what it is now mostly niche strategy may become the most main stream thing to ever exist. similar to 3 gen in the overcharge/cob/eruption meta.

This is not what this Thread is about.

    @Topic:

Yeah, her Lore and her Perks dont really fit with each other. And considering that the Lore of new Characters is pretty fleshed out, it either means that there will be additions in the Tome which features her OR simply the fact that Lore and Perks are designed by different Teams which dont really have much contact with each other (we already know that different teams work on different Killers without much exchange between them, but I would still guess that her Tome will make her Lore fit more to the Perks).

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

I don't know why the perk was ever nerfed in the first place. One of my fav survivor perks ever is back!

Because they tried to buff it. But it was more of a Nerf than anything (same with Calm Spirit back then).

  • In one of their Reddit Q&As they confirmed that Swamp will have a visual Update in early 2025.

  • It is only a texture, for the game there is a solid object between you and the Killer. And in the end… gameplay over realism. If we start to think about Flashlights being able to shine through windows, we would also need to start to think about the fact that Huntress or Deathslinger should be able to throw/shoot through glass windows.

######### the devs thinking creating this perk:

Once per trial, as long as you are not on death hook, press the ability button 2 in front of a hooked Survivor to unhook them. When they are unhooked, they lose 1 hook state and you gain 1 hook state.

This perk will hurt SoloQ even more. When someone tries to suicide and you unhook them, this peroson may use this perk on you in revenge. Another example baby meg use for fun this perk on you and the killer tunnel you. Damn if I see this perk is used in game it's another reason to go next on hook.

First of all, the irony of complaining about people who want to go next while saying that you will go next when you see this Perk.

Second, if someone wants to leave the game, they will do it regardless. If they do it as you describe (by giving their Hook Stages to you), you actually get something from it. At least it would be better than them running to the Killer to get hooked so that they can suicide.

  • @solarjin1 said:

Shoulder the burden kinda blatantly overpowering but i love the fact that it one big middle finger to tunnelers. obviously the perks shouldn't go live though 🤣🤣

    Why?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Am I having a reading comprehension fail with this perk? Or does this put the person you unhook in the dying state? That can't possibly go live if that's the case. Can we get some clarification on how this functions?

    Shoulder the Burden

Once per trial, as long as you are not on death hook, press the ability button 2 in front of a hooked Survivor to unhook them. When they are unhooked, they lose 1 hook state and you gain 1 hook state. You also scream and become Exposed for 30/25/20 seconds.

"Lose 1 Hook State" = losing 1 time being on the Hook.

"Gain 1 Hook State" = like being 1 time on the Hook.

This is how I understand it, but had to read it twice since it is very strangely written.

  • Nobody knows and nothing is officially announced. And until there is no official announcement, it is not certain that the PTB will be on the 12th of November.

dude, come on.. stop quote mining / taking stuff out of context to justify your self.

I just answered to your comment. Your comment was quite unrelated to OP and also sounded like a justification why Knockout is fine.

  • Where did OP say the Perk was "good"?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Knockout is only "good" versus SoloQ players. SWFs will just till the team where they are.

Doesnt really make the Perk healthy. Quite the opposite.

  • If the Ghostface DCed they certainly did not have a good game. So even if your intentions are well or you just say "gg" all the time, it can come up as mocking the other side.

If a player DCs or if a Killer gets like 2 Hooks the whole game or the Survivors dont even get a Gen done, a "gg" really sounds more like being a bad winner than anything else IMO.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

This has been happening for a while now. It has to be a bug.

Nah, Sacrificial Wards work. I have seen them working as intended.

That being said, it obviously should block the Map so that situations like this should not happen. (And, also obviously, they should not be burned if no map offering is played)

Adrenaline got nerfed the right amount, perks interacting with killer powers was bad, and the free unhook with heal, endurance and speed boost while also robbing the killer's pressure was ridiculous. It was too strong when survivors were in a winning position, and just flat out too beneficial with no counter play in a tied position which defaulted the situation into the survivors advantage.

There was alot wrong with distortion, and its pretty insane there's still people defending its over tuned, unhealthy previous version. You ignoring the issues it caused along with the logical arguments supporting it because they were "bad" (they weren't) is nonsense. It's just a fact that stealthy play is overall bad for everyone else unless you're in a coordinated group.

I said that the only part was that it lets the Survivor wake up against Freddy. So your point "Perks interacticting with Killer Powers was bad" is redundant. And for the rest - the Perk had a one time use and even that one itme use might have been nothing worthwile when the last Gen is finished while not being on the Hook, not in chase and not injured. This was a speedboost at this point. Plus the Survivor might not get ANY value from the Perk when they died before 5 Gens ore done.

"Counterplay"… Well, try to win before all Gens are done? Works amazing, no problem with Adrenaline at this point.

The main argument back then was that it leads to Survivors being overly stealthy and letting their teammates die. (Which was funnily mainly an argument by Killers, suddenly they care about Survivors gameplay experience, same with PTB-Reassurance, where suddenly the biggest problem was that Survivors could be held hostage…)

But as I said - if someone wants to play in a way that they survive and let their teammates die, they can still do it, are just even more useless then before. Then they spend more time in lockers and away from the Killer.

And even Killers with 0 Aura Reads were able to find and kill Survivors. It was just an overreaction from Killers about the Perk. (And I did not even run Distortion, if anything, I would have been at a disadvantage with overly stealthy Survivors when playing Survivor myself)

    Distortion has one single charge

Distortion starts with 1 token*, fixed for you.

You can get up to 2 tokens, but you must get into chases. Learn to escape chases, like you're supposed to as a Victim.

*Survivor, not Victim. Even tho I know that some people just want Survivors to be victims.

    @Topic:

Boil Over is a bad example. It was really unhealthy and in general it is still an unhealthy Perk. You will never see Boil Over in a regular Build, because it is bad. You will only see it in Builds which are supposed to be annoying. In fact, Boil Over would need a complete Rework to have the chance to become a viable Perk.

Adrenaline I would agree, the Perk got nerfed too hard. I think at least one of the Nerfs would have been fine to be reverted, the only real problem was that it wakes Survivors up against Freddy. The rest of the Perk was fine and not really complained about.

Distortion on the other hand was just whining about it. There was not really anything wrong with Distortion, Killers acted as if they cannot find Survivors anymore, which begged the question how Killers manage to do that who dont run any Aura Read-Perks. And the argument that Survivors are hiding with Distortion and teammates are dying due to that was also just bad - players who play THAT immersed will just use more lockers and be even less useful than before.

Yeah, this is it. I thought that one April Fools Item would have been 1 AC, but I guess what you said would also be the reason why this never happened. People would get mad of missing out a cosmetic piece, because they would not want to buy 500 ACs for an Item which only costs 1 AC.

I don't remember but the wiki says

"Buying a Pack of Auric Cells between 22 March and 25 April 2023."

I am very sure there was a Cosmetic which was only 1 AC.

EDIT: And I cannot find what the culprit is. But I also have a 9 at the end of my AC-count, so there has to be something.

  • Then it must have been the Dwight propeller-Head. One of those was it.

You can just wait to someone go down and run infront of the killer while they carrying. You will enter chase, drop the smoke bomb, and safely run off.

    ^ this.

In general, I do all my "Escape a chase"-Challenges like this. It is super simple to do and you would not even have to waste any time or be that inefficient to do that, since it happens all the time that a Survivor will go down next to you or close enough that you can get into a chase with the Killer while they are carrying a Survivor.

  • I think the one Vittorio-Head (the Jester-Headpiece) was 1 AC.

  • As others have said, it is related to the Smoke Bombs. Basically, if you leave a Trial while under the effect of a Smoke Bomb, you will have this muffled sound in the next Trial. So when you escape, avoid throwing a Smoke Bomb right at the Exit. As Killer, try not to be in a Smoke Bomb when the Trial ends.

Can be fixed by going into another Smoke Bomb.

As long as survivors can run Boil Over etc and keep running to an upstairs on maps such as Eerie which make them unhookable slugging needs to be a thing

Such a weak argument. This is the same like "If Hook Deadzones dont exist and Hooks respawn there will be less slugging"… Guess what, nothing changed.

I am always for Boil Over being changed, but it is just a weak argument. Even if you would change Boil Over or remove Flashlights/Flashbangs, you would still have massive amounts of slugging because a) it is used for griefing and b) it is way too efficient.

  • This would not really solve anything. People play the game to actually play the game, not to be left on the ground for minutes. That they get a few BPs does not really fix anything.

There will be a solution for extensive slugging eventually. Hens wrote in a recent tweet that Survivors should pick themselves up after 2 minutes, which is a fair solution IMO. No Killer needs to slug for 2 minutes to create pressure or to wait out a DS (Imagine respecting DS in 2024 anyway, lol). 2+ minutes of slugging are usually done for griefing or to waste everyones time for a small ego boost by slugging for the 4K.

  • First of all, communication is not what makes SWF stronger than Solos. It is the reduction of teammate-RNG. As Solo you can have amazing teammates or really bad teammates. And then communication or information also dont matter.

Then there are so many aspects which speak against ingame communication - language barriers, there is already a very potent alternative (Discord), slurs and other bad behavior, people just wanting to immerse themselve and NOT talk to others, etc…

  • The game used to be survivor-sided years ago. But since then it is honestly only parotted that it is survivor-sided. Basically, whenever a Killer Main loses a game, it is because the game is survivor-sided. You see this from Forum Killers up to the most vocal content creators (some of them and luckily a minority).

Which is kinda sad, since you clearly see that some players just adapt this instead of looking for their own mistakes. Went against a Clown a few weeks ago who said that the game is so survivor-sided. He had 300 hours in the game and from the looks of his achievements, he was not playing for a long time. I was like "Mate, you are just starting the game. It is fine to lose more than you win at this point", since 300 hours is really not that much. But what to expect if people get fed this opinion from early on?

The game basically leans more into being killersided nowadays. The Killrate is at least 60% for almost all Killers. And recent changes to the game show that the Devs are heading in the direction to make it even more killersided - Map Reworks for example. Haddonfield is the most extreme example, what was once the most survivor-sided map is now the most killer-sided map and it is honestly really hard to lose a game as Killer on Haddonfield. The changes to Coldwind-Farm also add to this. Many Maze Tiles are now super-weak, but their number remained the same. When there was previously a Jungle Gym or a Long Wall with a Pallet, it is now one of those weird new Tiles, but the number of Tiles did not change.

And very recent - there was a Bug which let Breakable Walls spawn in almost every Opening on the Asylum-Map. This got fixed, now there is no Breakable Wall anymore. Including the one next to the Window Downstairs, which now renders this Window very weak.

On top of that, if we look at the past year of Killer releases, they are all strong without any exception. Nobody can argue that Xenomorph, Chucky, Unknown, Vecna and Dracula are weak Killers, all can be considered at high B-Tier AT LEAST, most likely mid to high A for them. And even Singularity released before was not weak, just a pain to play before the Buffs/QoL-Changes.

So overall, who nowadays says that the game is survivor-sided is pretty wrong.

  • @Iseul said:

I mean on Dbd mobile he was gone so I ask if he will be back

Ah. DBD Mobile is not run by BHVR, it is run by NetEase. So nobody here can answer this question.

  • I mean, he is not gone, so…?

  • For me it is because the impact is not significant enough. Sure, a blocked Window is nice, but if you think about it, how many Windows on maps do you actually need to be blocked? Most Windows are really bad nowadays and I am pretty sure that no Map has 5 strong Windows which are reasonable close to each other and could be blocked at the same time.

Sure, it is nice if you block a Jungle Gym-Window or Shack-Window. But do you really need a T/L-Wall Window being blocked? Or a Window of some of the new Maze Tiles which can spawn? I dont really think so.

And if you want only strong Windows blocked, you can just run Bamboozle.

I don't know how that sounds made up, people getting annoyed at whatever and getting toxic is honestly pretty run of the mill at this point.

Because there is no negative word when it comes to the long shots, but a negative indication when it comes to Huntress players basically going into Melee-Range before throwing their Hatchet.

The quoted sentence reads like an answer to the question "Why do you like my Huntress-gameplay?". And given that all Discussions of OP here are Anti-Survivor, I call doubt on that one.

I thought using a VPN actually is considered cheating in this game? It may rely on the honor system but I could swear the devs said using VPNs for an advantage is considered cheating.

This could entirely be possible, but I dont really remember that the Devs ever said that. It would make sense if they say that using a VPN to gain an advantage is considered as Cheating, but sadly I dont know of any forum posts or Dev Stream where it was mentioned.

  • This happens when you use a Void Crystal and then end the match in some way (e.g. escaping). You will have this sound effect until you use another Void Crystal.

Should survivors be allowed to use Discord, which gives them gameplay advantages?

People VPN because Bhvr can’t protect your IP address. It’s well known that several big streamers have been ddos’es and doxed and now use VPNs. So yes they should be able to play.

Stop crying and play the game. Unfair things happen in every single game ever, this is nothing new.

That is really a bad take. First of all, it was already confirmed by the Devs that Discord is allowed.

But VPNing to get high Ping, because it gives advantages as Killer is really not something which should be allowed. And "protection"

is a really bad argument, since you can safely assume that most people will never be affected by anything which make them hide their actual IP. Because most players are not streamers.

    @versacefeng said:

This is literally the only game where having bad connection is beneficial. You shouldn't be able to queue for matches if your ping is consistently higher than something around 160ms+.

This should only be a thing if BVHR can somehow figure out that a VPN is used. Which is probably not possible. Because sadly some players have to deal with high Ping because there is no Server nearby. And this is not the fault of the players, this is the fault of BHVR. And if BHVR cannot provide any Server next to a player (whether they dont want to or simply are not able to is not relevant), those players should not be excluded from the game.

(In general, Dedicated Servers were most likely a failure, because they dont really remove things which were present with P2P, but granted a whole lot of new problems)

  • @Sngfun said:

How Is twins so low in all of them?! How Is blight so high in all of them?!

Blight being high makes sense, you can argue he is the second-strongest Killer, but he is clearly Top 5.

Twins being too low in most Tierlists is true. Twins are easily A-Tier and probably also contender for a Top 5-Spot.

Blight was only bad on the PTB, because we only had an outdated version of Blight on the PTB. Blight on LIve was strong since release and is still strong.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I was playing killer a bit a few days ago and there are normally no problems, then suddenly in one match all four survivors had 300 ping the entire time. It was unplayable.

Not sure what that means, if it even means anything. It sure was strange, though.

Sometimes it can happen that all Servers in your Region are full, so players get connected to a different Server. Usually this means that all players are from the same region, but on the wrong Server. E.g. 5 EU-players who play a match on a US-Server.

  • Off the Record is the most overrated Survivor-Perk and IMO it is just trash. It also does not have 80 seconds Endurance, it has as much Endurance as the Killer allows it to have. Hitting the Survivor after the Unhook removes the Endurance for OTR, meaning the Survivor had only a few seconds at best of it.

It is just a sad excuse of an Anti-Tunnel-Perk.

  • Would disagree, except for Bat-Form. It is not really avoidable at this point that Killers get similar powers, because we have so many Killers.

And while the Hellfire is comparable to Pyramid Heads Power, it does not go through Walls and you are even more limited when it comes to the direction.

The Pounce in Wolf-Form can be compared to Demogorgon, yet I feel that his power has more control (since you can charge the Shred) and the Wolf-Form robs you a bit of mindgames, since walking backwards is very, very slow.

I would say that your point is true for Bat-Form. Bat-Form is better than Spirit currently, since it is basically phasing, but you can go through Windows and switching Power to attack is too fast currently.

But, they announced that Dracula will get some Tweaks in November, so you can expect some Nerfs to Bat-Form. (At least this is the obvious things to change on him)

  • You are really that kind of person who only refers to the Stats when it benefits you. I am very sure that I have seen you in other Threads about high Killrates arguing against it, yet when Nurse has a low Killrate, that is all which is matters. That it is widely known and anyone who has somewhat of a clue of the game knows that she is the strongest Killer, does suddenly not matter.

Your argument for Nurse are also a bit funny. She needs practice, she is a woman and she is free2play. Out of those arguments, only one can really matter and it is the last one. And IMO this is one of the main reasons why she does not get any significant Nerfs, because BHVR can always say that the strongest Killer does not cost any money for any Pay2Win-allegations.

That she needs practice is honestly a joke, because her difficulty is highly overrated. She does not really need more practice than other Killers, the only thing is that practice on Nurse does not help you with any other Killer, while any other Killer can provide practice for most of the Killers of the Roster. But you really need to do much to be decent at Nurse to the point that you win most of your games. I guess a few hours (way below 10) and you are good enough.

And that she is a woman is a stupid argument, sorry. Nobody who likes to play her does it because she is a female Killer, she could be a nonbinary blue blob and players would still play her.

    @Topic:

Yes, a Nerf to Auras for Nurse would actually make sense. Her having Blindness when charging a blink or in fatique would actually nerf her. Because honestly, every Killer-Nerf is a Joke as long as Nurse is allowed to exist like that. She is not that hard to play and by far the strongest Killer. And IMO she should at some point reach a Strength-Level where people who make Tier Lists have actually have to argue why she is the best or consider that she might not be the best and not just slap her on Top of S-Tier and call it a day with a "It is Nurse".

And sadly I guess that Predator was nerfed because of Nurse and thats it. Because I have not seen any other Killer using this Perk and I have not used it myself on any other Killer than Nurse. Sure, it has its uses, but the use on Nurse is the most significant one since it turns of the only counter Survivors have against her.

And in general, she really holds back Perk-Design. It is time that the Devs hammer her with the Nerf-Bat instead of giving her a few slaps on the wrist. They are tinkering with so many Killers, yet Nurse is allowed to be so broken that she does not play DBD anymore. If I compare her to Billy, it is really a bad Joke - first Billy got slapped on Overdrive which really lowered the playrate and then when he got buffed and was STILL not as good as Nurse, he got slight Nerfs. Not unjustified, but as I said - as long as Nurse can exist like she is, other Killer-Nerfs are just a joke.

  • Activity HUD-Improvements are planned for November. I guess the Anti-Camp Bar is one thing they will add. At least they should add it.

  • @NotVerySuss said:

is it confirmed they will tweak Wesker? I think he is in a great spot.. if anything maybe buff him to compensate the last nerfs he got a while ago?

Yes, they confirmed the "+4"-Killers. Wesker, Ghostface, Vecna and Chucky.

  • @Royval said:

why would they remove killer instinct from a spray

Because Wesker does not need it and it promotes tunneling, since he gets an exact location of a Survivor who was most likely on the Hook before.

(In general, I am not a fan that every Killer gets Killer Instinct slapped on them nowadays, but the one for Wesker is especially nonsensical)

  • Meh. I would rather let them their occasional save with them and use a good Perk instead. Survivors wasting their time trying to get Flashbang/Flashlight-Saves are way better than Survivors who stick to Gens once they realize that you have Lightborn.

  • If you ALWAYS lose matches to Flashlights, this is really a you-problem. Flashlights are some of the weaker Items and honestly it is better for the Killer if Survivors use Flashlights than Medkits, Toolboxes or even no Item.

wait is that something that might just happen or do the survs actively need to do something to exploit this?

I had a match against a Team that seemed to know exactly that there were no scratchmarks there at all even when its been a while since last smoke bomb was used

(If there are steps for the exploit, you don’t need to describe them here as that might be against Forum rules - just curious if its actively exploitable)

It is something that "might just happen". There is not really anything to actually perform the bug willingly, so "using the exploit" is a really poor and malicious way of wording it. It can just happen.

(It only happened to me once, so at least from my perspective, it is pretty rare and the Survivor in question was also not aware of it)

  • I had one "Dedicated Server not responding" right at the end of the game. Got a 2K, the last Survivor was just out of the Gates and I was wondering why the EGC did not end. Seconds after, I get the "Dedicated Server not responding"; meaning I got 0 points while everyone else got points, since the Survivors were just out before it happend.

Honestly I don’t see anything wrong with this thread. OP isn’t overreacting to anything, aside from maybe the title There’s nothing wrong with giving a prediction. There’s nothing Us vs Them about it and don’t seem to be complaining about any of it and just giving their opinion. Compared to most threads here, this post is very tame.

They never even said it would be solely nerfs. They even mentioned Ghostface buffs and that Vecna doesn’t need either.

Discussion is the point of these forums and there’s nothing Us vs Them or overdramatic about this post so I don’t see what’s wrong with it.

OPs Thread is just one example, even tho I would agree there are more extreme examples of it.

However, talking about the "chopping block" indicates that OP thinks that there will be major changes.

And the thing is - this happens all the time when changes are allowed. When they are announced, people start to freak out and expecting the worst, without even knowing what will be changed.

Then the changes are public and people do that again, because for some peoeple, even the slightest nerf to a Killer will leave them "gutted".

And then the next wave happens when PTB is live.

And in reality, we can only see the impact of the changes once they hit live and it is most of the time not even close to severe as people make eit out to be.
