  • This is how you got the true ending in Aria of Sorrow. By equipping those three souls when fighting Graham.

But I did not equip a single charm after they reworked the UI. Especially the Charm Menu is straight out of hell.

I feel like they could do more testing on multiple pbes and seeing how to improve it before forcing something onto live and have it plague people that are just trying to wind down after work or something to have fun. I personally think that you may be right in this case, it was just frustrating to get slugged in 4-5 matches almost back to back with nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs waiting for the killer to either finally catch the other guy, give up and hook me or my bleed out timer finally giving way.

I feel like making a killer 4k shouldn't be the priority over hatch mechanics cause they kinda blow, can't really think of a solution to it, but maybe making it so that a killer victory is seen as a 3k rather than a 4k may help the slugging a bit? Just in the cases of adept.

I think at some point something like Basekit Unbreakable (obviously not Unbreakable as the Perk, but a way to pick yourself up after meeting some conditions) needs to be implemented. Because slugging just to waste the time of others is way too much currently and at this point it is not a "strategy" anymore when a Killer decides to slug the whole team at 5 Gens. Because a Killer does not need pressure at this point or at least they have enough pressure after 3 people are slugged to start hooking and actually play the game.

Let alone that letting Survivors bleed out for 4 minutes is not needed anymore. Killers said that this can happen when a Hook was used, now we have Hooks which respawn and it still happens.

And I guess people who play like this and do this to ruin it for the other side, will be responsible for something like Basekit Unbreakable.

When it comes to slugging for the 4K, I always had the opinion that a Hatch Escape should count as a Kill for the Killer. If the Survivor escapes via Hatch, they survive, get the BPs and Emblems, but the Killer should also get their BPs and Emblems like if they killed the last Survivor. Because in the end, a Killer does not lose anything when a Survivor escapes via Hatch, they clearly won the game and IMO it would reduce the amount of slugging for the 4K.

However, as of late I think that most slugging for the 4K is actually done for the ego. Where my solution would not do anything.

  • I did not really see an increase today. However, I would have to say that slugging for the 4K (and slugging in general) needs to be adressed at some point.

Slugging for pressure is totally fine, slugging to avoid something like DS or a Flashlight Save is also fine. But most slugging I encounter nowadays is just to keep people on the ground to waste their time until bleedout.

And well, slugging for the 4K is just a Killer who has already won the game, prolonging it for their ego. (Sure, some people will start yapping that there are Adepts or Challenges, but it is quite clear that slugging for the 4K happens far more often, simply because a Killer thinks they need a 4K and it would be unacceptable if the last Survivor gets a pity escape via Hatch while only one Gen was done, meaning the Killer clearly won)

But I would say that overall the issue is slugging, not the ability to mori the last remaining Survivor. This is good IMO, since then people see more Mori Animations, because they were quite rare after Moris got rightfully nerfed.

Hens is trolling or having a bad take. Or get this, this is his idea

I mean, I trust his judgment more than I would trust the judgment of most of the Forum Users. And in fact, I dont really see much difference between the new window and the already existing upstairs window. And since the window below is gone, there is not really anything where the Survivor can get in time.

Unless it is to a different tile, but this is nothing new.

  • I think 15 minutes is way too close to a reasonable game time. MAYBE 30 minutes should be fine. But indifferent on this one, I dont think a match should go on for 30 minutes, so I guess it would be fine to allow DCs at this point.

  • Upstairs Hooks should not exist at all. No idea who thought it is good to have Hooks at the top of two-story buildings, but they should all be removed. Sometimes they are even stronger than Basement.

Boil Over to keep those is just a poor excuse, but IMO Boil Over should be reworked anyway, since you only find the Perk in very specific and annoying Builds, because for everything else it is just too weak.

They will not put something meaningful past Tier 85

I am perfectly fine with just BP, but fact that amount is lower than start of the rift seems like a joke to me.

level 200 should be like 2M, not 5k…

They really want to avoid that players think they need to grind to Level 200 or that they are missing out on something. 2 Million BPs would exactly achieve that.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

109, but I wasn't really motivated to play much after 85.

5k is just nothing, I really hope it was just to test, how far players get to determine better rewards.

This is just so that players can see a number getting bigger the more they play. Because honestly, it was pretty frustrating to reach Tier 85 and then there is nothing to do with the Rift, every Challenge you complete grants no Rift Fragments, your playtime does not grant anything, any Login Rewards, etc…

They will not put something meaningful past Tier 85, simply because they already made the Rift so easy to complete because players did not want to miss out on anything. Therefore, Tiers after Tier 85 will just feature a few BPs, which is fine.

  • Wraith is fine. The Nerfs were fine as well, especially considering that he is one of the simplest Killers to play.

And you dont need to give any side or any Killer compensation buffs when nerfing something, especially when not even needed.

  • Currently Tier 186, I doubt I will reach 190 before it closes.

First, im not accusing, but it makes sense to want to see what happened before, because its still a possibility, i dont know you and all i have is your word. There is a very few people i trust, especially in the dbd community. I have seen a lot of people lie time and time again to win an argument, and i have spend hours, and even more hours finding proof that they were wrong (im done with that, my time is worth more). So frankly, i dont know, i have seen people Tbag me and then down them less than 10 secs later.

Im no saint either, i have been BMing killers too if they tunneled and camped my team mates, but i was also aware that it was my own fault if i was the next in line after doing it.

Again, this is not an accusation against you, but I allow myself to have some doubts as long as i dont have the full picture.

I have, when i have uploaded clips from my killer games. Not always but it happens.

But you didnt answer my question, how would you know if the survivor in question did not actually BM the killer in the first place, if we dont get to see the full video??

You dont know. But as I said, this question is never asked when someone complains about a Surviovr BMing.

I said that because I never think that killers go into the game just doing that off rip. It’s normally something that the survivors do that make the killers BM.

Yeah, thats not really thought out, isnt it? As I said, there are awful people on both sides.

  • @Royval said:

wonder why Nurse chose to do that 🤔 why not show the full gameplay

Why do people like you demand "full gameplay" when a Killer is BMing, but not when Survivors are BMing? Both sides have annoying people.

Even tho I have to say, the BM done by Killers has gone up recently. Guess some vocal Killer Main Streamer or someone like that did it and now they all think it is cool.

It'll be helpful for those stupid skill checks that pop up right when you're leaving the gen. That's about it

I mean, this is something BHVR should have fixed years ago. But for some reason they first said that it is intended to get auto-failed Skill Checks when getting up from a Gen, just to say in their latest Reddit AMA that they are looking into it.

  • I dont mind it too much. It is part of the deal that you might end up with No Mither. The only really bad thing IMO is that it feeds Oni Blood and this should have been removed long time ago (even if some people then always come up with the absolute valid (/s) point that 4 No Mithers would counter Onl, like if that would ever happen…).

But other than that, it is a Perk in the game and should be in Chaos Shuffle. You have to adapt when getting No Mither and play more carefully.

And honestly, there are Perks in the game which are just a bit better than No Mither, which you also can get in Chaos Shuffle. If you get one of the useless Lara-Perks or something like that you might not have a Perk at all.

  • Map Offerings are not the problem, it is the reason why they are sometimes used which is problematic. That Survivors use a Badham-Offering is not a problem at all, the problem is that Badham is so strong for Survivors. The Midwich-Offering used by Nurse is also not a problem, the problem is the design failure Nurse which is still allowed to be in the game.

And I think Map Offerings should stay, simply because sometimes players want to have a bit control. I can totally understand that Survivors dont really want to end up on Haddonfield or Coldwind and would rather use a MacMillan-Offering or something like that. Or that Killers dont want to end up on Maps which are bad for their build. I also used a MacMillan-Offering a few days ago, because I got Hawkins, RPD and Lerys in a row on Billy.

Wouldn't Stake Out just make those good skill checks from Corrective Action into greats when you have tokens?

Except that Stake Out-Tokens are limited/need to recharge.

Dont worry, Corrective Action is still a terrible Perk.

  • I dont think they mean for every Offering.

But the point is that it breaks bloodlust, so they are actually a strong argument.

No, it is a bad argument. God Pallets are exactly the same, whether you have no Bloodlust at all, only Bloodlust 1, Bloodlust 3 or Bloodlust 10.

  • I dont know if 6 hours is the next penalty after 30 minutes, but it might be. The DC-Penalty resets by 1 points after 24 hours. So you not DCing for 12+ hours is not enough to lower the DC-Penalty.

And well, for the other 4 players in your game it does not really matter if you DC because your internet tends to disconnect sometimes or because you DCed because you are salty. The outcome for them is the same.

  • God Pallets have no place in any discussions about Bloodlust, since God Pallets need to be kicked. Very poor argument.

Using Bloodlust means you're not using your power.

Using bloodlust means you're playing an M1 non-chase killer, whichever killer that happens to be.

Using Bloodlust as Blight? You're not using your power, therefore you're a non-chase killer. And you're still playing worse than if you used Blights power.

Bloodlust is not an issue, it is the last resort and the least effective way to play killer. Waiting 35 seconds until you have a chance to hit the survivor you're chasing is already going to lose you the game.

You're complaining that you can't run a killer indefinitely, which the game is not designed to allow you to do. Survivor resources are supposed to be finite, the killer is supposed to catch you eventually, because it's an asymmetrical game. You are not supposed to with a 1v1 scenario under normal circumstances. Doing so is supposed to require additional resources, perks and/or teamwork.

No, I am not complaining about that. Nice Strawman.

The problem with Bloodlust is that at this point in the game, it is either not used (strong Loops) or used with not being needed (weak Loops). How you translate this into "you are complaining you cannot run a Killer indefinitely" is funny. Shows that there are not really arguments.

And yes, there are Killer players who prefer bloodlusting over using their power. And it is super-boring to play against them.

Sadly Bloodlust makes Mindgames from Survivors obsolete.

Well, if you're the one who can't win against the Killer with Bloodlust despite all the opportunities you have as a survivor, maybe you're not as great at the game as you pretend to be :)

How exactly do you want to avoid getting hit if the Killer decides to neither mindgame (which might give some distance if you play it well as Survivor) nor breaks the Pallet (which will give you distance), but instead decides to just follow you, because they know that they will have a guaranteed hit in a few seconds?

I mean, I see that you are trying to mimic my point, but it just does not work this way, lol.

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3811185#Comment_3811185

If they didn't exist, there wouldn't be such term as a "survivor-sided map". But there is. There are maps that are extremely safe for Survivors — and they are perfectly aware of it. So to suggest that Killers should be slowed down while Survivors get to keep all their Haste perks is kinda odd.

If you have a safe structure nowadays, the Killer breaks the Pallet. So Bloodlust does not even apply here.

Yet, if you have an unsafe Loop, the Killer can either try to mindgame or still break the Pallet. But this is also not the case because Bloodlust exists. It is extremely cheap.

Bloodlust was introduced because back in the day we had actual infinites. Structures, where Killers cannot gain any distance anymore. And those just dont exist anymore and if you think they exist, then you are not good at the game, sorry.

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3811139#Comment_3811139

And to be honest, Bloodlust Tier 2 and 3 are obsolete. Because you have either mindgameable Loops, which the Killer should be able to play without just forcing Bloodlust OR Loops which need a Pallet to be kicked, which removes Bloodlust anyway.

Bloodlust was added specifically because there were loops that allowed survivors to safely waste Killers' time and essentially leave them helpless to do anything. And given how maps like Eyrie of Crows, Garden of Joy, and The Game are loved by survivors and bully squads, these loops still exist and exploited like there is no tomorrow.

No, those Loops dont exist. Dont pretend that a mechanic which was implemented 7 years ago is still justified today.

But dont worry, the Devs somewhat recently buffed it, it is not going anytime soon. So you dont need to mindgame or break Pallets at unsafe Loops.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3811162#Comment_3811162

No it's not. Bloodlust is literally worse than just using their power.

It is used by strong Killers as well. Just not the ones which are good at the game.

  • @CLHL said:

The new 2v8 will fail in the same way that the return of Chaos Shuffle has failed. Everyone said they loved Chaos Shuffle and were looking forward to its return, but it has been ignored and they are playing normal mode.

The thing is, Chaos Shuffle this time is less popular because it is more sweaty than before. The big flaw in Chaos Shuffle was that players could sweat by bringing strong Items/Add Ons or Map Offerings. And this is now happening far more often.

In general, it looks like people play those gamemodes which should be FUN modes way too seriously. Which brings me back to my intiial opinion about those - they should just not exist. The Devs should stop putting time into Chaos Shuffle, Lights Out and 2v8 and rather focus on the regular gamemode. Nobody needs two or more gamemodes which are all a sweatfest.

Being punished for being good is bad.

So, you want Killers to be punished for playing Killers instead. Got it.

It's funny how people get countless perks that give them Haste, second chance perks, medkit add-ons, but God forbid Killers don't just sit there without any other way to play, but get looped into oblivion.

You are comparing things you have to bring with a mechanic you get for free.

And to be honest, Bloodlust Tier 2 and 3 are obsolete. Because you have either mindgameable Loops, which the Killer should be able to play without just forcing Bloodlust OR Loops which need a Pallet to be kicked, which removes Bloodlust anyway.

But what we currently have is a lot of weak, mindgameable Loops which are just bruteforced by the Killer without any mindgames, because they can and it is beneficial for them.

To be fair, the reason why the queues were so long wasn't because it was Killer-sided per-say, it was because gameplay for Survivors was barely changed and even dumbed down (no more saves and totems or perks, only gens) while Killers not only got to play with their friends (which is something that was asked since almost day 1) but had a much more fast-paced game than before. There was basically no incentive to play Survivor and the Killer queues were overwhelmingly bigger and slower than Survivor queues (which is why there was no Killer-only challenge in the 2nd chapter of the 2v8 tome and Survivors had a massive BP incentive that changed almost nothing).

Why play Survivor when the gameplay is almost the same, just with twice as many teammates and less varied options, when you can have an almost entirely new experience when playing Killer with a friend?

I mean, whether you say that the mode was killer-sided and therefore changes are needed or whether the Survivor-gameplay was toned down too much and therefore changes are needed - both justify the changes the Devs are trying to do.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

….. the killer has like 18+ hooks to get. You want 18+ chances for hooks to fail…. so instead of hooking 18 times, your going to be hooking 30 times. that is a large problem alongside fact that with 8 survivors, the opportunity cost for doing these activities is considerable smaller than 1vs4.

a flashlight save requires 1 player down and 1 player off-gens. that is 50% of the team. In 2vs8, 2 player is 25% of the team. It is far lower player investment. it is literally going encourage tunneling.

Read. OP is talking about the first version being survivor-sided, which had no chance of cages being failed.

But I will tag you as well when you are proven wrong.

because it was the first time you could play with 2 killers and you can play with your friend as killer doesn't mean the killer was op. These changes will kill this mode

Nah, not really. It was super-easy to win as Killer. I played "SoloQ" on Killer and never got anything less than a 7K. And I am not really that good as Killer.

    @Backmon said:

But in second version we would have reverse situation when killers have 400% bp and no one wants to play them and survivor lobby became 20 min waiting. So it would be just reverse situation of the original version. And mod is survivor sided cause unfair gen repairing speed.

I will remind you when you are wrong. (Notice - "when", not "if")

  • How can you call the mode survivor-sided when Survivors had 400% BP-Incentive (!!) and yet Killer queues were super long? They had to do something, since 2v8 was killing the queues, 400% was not enough to make enough Survivors play in the mode, yet it was enough to also ruin the queues for 1v4.

And in general it is good that Survivors have more in this mode than just doing Generators. The first version basically removed all Survivor-gameplay aside from Chases (which can easily be lost due to Killers teaming up) and doing Gens.

  • When you have 400% BP-Incentive on Survivor and you STILL have 10 minute queues for Killer, you cannot really be serious that the mode was survivor-sided.

They HAD to make big changes to the mode. For Survivors, there was nearly no gameplay at all aside from holding M1 on even more Generators, while Killers had all the gameplay.

I wont play it, since I really dislike the mode (at least in the first version it was way too easy to win as Killer and not really worth it to play with 7 Randoms who dont repair Gens instead of 3 Randoms), but they had to do some improvements for Survivors.

  • With Scratched Mirror it depends how the Myers is playing. If they just go for Jumpscares and risk losing the game, because they want to have fun, it is also a fun experience for the Survivors. If the Myers just uses the lack of TR and the Wallhacks to camp, it is just super-boring.

And I think it is a pretty dumb mentality to sweat when playing Scratched Mirror. Players are using a Meme-Add On and want to 4K, this is just dumb.

Tombstone and Tombstone Piece on the other hand need to go. They should have gone years ago. Myers in general is pretty badly designed when it comes to his stalking mechanic, since he can get his stalk from someone not paying attention and just unloads it on the next Survivor he finds. And being able to kill someone immediatly, even if they might not have seen Myers all game is just busted. And there is not really any way to gauge if the Myers has a Tombstone Piece or not, because you dont know how much he stalked the other Survivors. And the counterplay of jumping into the Locker whenever a Myers is about to down you in Tier 3 is also not really good, Survivors should not have to give up in a chase just because so many Myers-Players are using the Tombstone Piece.

(In comparison, Ghostfaces Stalking Mechanic is way better. When I get exposed, it is completely on me not paying attention and not on some other person in the Trial not paying attention)

It really depends on how they will approach his rework. If we don't move away from his post-rework power then nothing will be fixed.

"It really depends on how they will approach his rework. If we don't move away from his post-rework power then nothing will be fixed."

The thing is, this can happen. Freddy was very popular after the Rework and players in general liked him. They did not care that he was boring, because he was easy to play and very strong.

Personally, I would prefer him being mid-range and fun to play over him being strong again as before and boring to play. But I feel that quite a bunch of players care more about how powerful a Killer is than how fun it is.

  • At least Bloodlust 2 and 3 should be removed. I see it more and more that Killers just Bloodlust loops which they should not Bloodlust. They dont try to mindgame them and they dont break the Pallet either. (Not talking about something like Shack or Jungle Gyms here)

And this is just boring and way too effective, since you dont get as punished for that as it was a few years ago.

EDIT: I also think that whiffing should remove Bloodlust. If the Killer is so bad that they miss a few times, they should not be rewarded by getting faster.

  • Yeah, Map Offerings, Items and Add Ons should be disabled in Chaos Shuffle. People just use those to sweat in it.

  • They did not do any changes because they wanted to bring the mode back earlier than LIghts Out. So no changes were implemented, even tho they will probably change something at a later version of the Mode.

But I have to say, players seem to be more sweaty this time.

the survivor side almost always better perks. Like what i am suppose to do with insidious, Hex:two can play, Undone and Spirit fury. these are just pointless perks that do nothing. spirit fury, you use it and the survivor get to another loop anyway. Undone is pointless. insidious is irrelevant for 7 years. hex:two can play is pointless hex. why is it even a hex, this perk could be base-kit and it would do nothing.

"the survivor side almost always better perks."

    Nonsense. It is random.

  • It can happen that the other side has good Perks and you, yourself, have bad Perks. This is the result when it is random.

But most of the time both sides will have pretty random Perks which might not work together or are just not good. But you focus on rare instances so that you can complain. Yikes.

why not both? why can't i have fun and win at same time? If i play well, i should be able to use a wide variety of perks and provided that i use my perk well/perk gives value, i should win.

that's is opposite for what killer has now. there is very little no variety of perks and most of the perk that do anything relevant are game-delay perks which also get nerfed. I am talking about this in regards SWF/good efficient players.

I even said those are not exclusive.

But if you want to win every game, you should not come with "I only want to have fun".

  • @mizark3 said:

If you sweat to win, you will only win by sweating. If you play fun builds and lose, you will drop your MMR to 'fun perk and can still win' status. Sadly if you have already reached the topcap of MMR, that takes way more losses to drop MMR, so if you've already sweat too hard, you unknowingly created this problem for yourself.

Exactly this. People who complain about the other side sweating are sweating themselves. They want that 4K every game, they want to escape every game, but if the other side plays the same, it is not right.

If someone really just wants to run fun perks and plays for fun, they will not care about winning that much.

  • Great first post.

And well, according to your post you want to use fun Perks, but you also want to win most of the time? Do you play for fun or to win? Both might not be exclusive, but if you play for fun you should not expect to win almost all of your games.

Pentimento is kinda flawed as a perk because it requires survivors spend time cleansing 5 totems, if they do this BEFORE gens then they’ve basically already lost because that’s over a minute of time the killer gets to have free pressure, and if they do it AFTER gens then there’s no reaso to light the totems. So it either gets no value/the value is useless/or the survivors were already doomed without it.

Pentimento is flawed, but not because of that reason. Pentimento is flawed, because Survivors get punished quite heavily for doing Side Objectives, which are already good for the Killer. I mean, you say it yourself, if they cleanse 5 Totems, the Killer probably does not even need Pentimento since the Survivors were so inefficient.

    @Topic:

Pentimento is not really used for getting 5 Stacks. I managed to do it once, but only because the Survivors for some reason only cleansed their Plaything-Totems and not the Pentimento-Totems (big misplay).

Pentimento is used because the first Token already gives a really big benefit. 30% Slowdown on Gens is a lot AND there is additional Slowdown because one Survivor needs to travel to the Pentimento-Totem and cleanse it.

So as long as you have 1 Pentimento-Totem active, you already get a huge benefit. No need to get 5 tbh.
