Stop justifying such a playstyle because of the Hook Timer-increase, lol. Killers did this long before the most recent Update, at least own it if you want to play that way.
And I will never understand why people play the game just to be annoying to the other side. My time would be way too valuable to waste it playing a game not for fun but just to be annoying.

That's silly.
All those things you mentioned are in the game, and are DESIGNED that way. Is it fun? Nah, it's not. But that doesn't make that person a dickhead. Some people just have different playstyles. That's the issue with a game like DBD that has, in 8 years, never had a defined win condition.
Nah, at this point someone is just playing to be annoying.
I also faced a Legion a few days ago who went for a slugging build, and they even said they are just doing that to make the game miserable for Survivors and they dont care about winning anymore.
And if such a person is not toxic, I dont know what is toxic.

It would be nice, especially when I play let’s say 3 hours straight the servers disconnects me at least twice in the three hours & I have 5K hours in the game. I don’t want to play the game as much do the the server disconnecting me or my Ping being 60-70 SMH.
This sounds more like an issue with your connection when you get disconnected. If you live far away from a Server but have stable connection, you will "only" have high Ping. But if your Ping is unstable or you get even disconnected, this is most likely your connection.
@Topic:
They said when introducing Dedicated Servers that they would add more Servers when needed. This did not happen until this point, so I am pretty sure we are stuck with the Servers we currently have and the Devs dont think they are needed (or just cannot be provided in specific regions).
-
IMO it is only toxic if it would be save to hook the Survivor instead and slugging is only done out of spite. E.g. I dont think it is toxic if the Survivor crawled under a Pallet (Power Struggle) or if there is no Hook nearby (which does not really happen). But I have had situations where I even crawled under the Hook and did not get picked up.
Slugging like in this video is not toxic. Not necessary, because the Killer probably would have won the game anyway, but not toxic either.

You dont even need to reveal the Aura yourself. I got it because a teammate had Kindred.

I don't think they'll do this, but I would really love to see a Soma Cruz cosmetic! It's possible with Aria of Sorrow's popularity, but it seems like they're focusing on other parts of the timeline/specifically on members of the Belmont clan. But I think it would be a really nice more subtle easter egg for people who are big fans of the Castlevania series as a whole. Even more niche, I'd love to see Nathan Graves from Circle of the Moon, but I think there's no way they'd go that deep 🤣
They revealed in the Stream that the next Tome will be Castlevania-Themed and it will feature a Soma Cruz-Legendary for Trevor Belmont.

Nobody can answer this here. The Mobile-Version of DBD Is not handled by BHVR, therefore they wont have any answer for this.
-
My Unknown-Build, which works very well:
- BBQ
- Lethal Pursuer
- Pop Goes the Weasel
- Brutal Strength
Works fine IMO. In general, I think you should have some Aura Read in your Build to make use of the awesome teleport Unknown gets. Could be BBQ, could be Friends Till the End or another Perk.

Its nice, but I would have preferred if they bring it back with some changes (No Items, Add Ons and Offerings).
But I take it and will play it. 100% more excited about it than Lights Out.

I think people have given up hope by the time the map leaves the ptb. We've had a long, long track record now of maps that either didn't get touched again, or somehow got worse after feedback.
RPD reworks addressed almost nothing for survivors (3 gens still base kit here), corn maps are basically just dead zones now in general and the tractor loops got deleted, haddonfield gets worse every time they touch it. Maps like Ormond, shattered square, and eyrie simply got smaller without getting any better.
The only map that might've had hope was midwich, and they basically just deleted a couple breakable walls and tweaked the exit gates. Thanks, that fixes none of the map's core issues.
Yeah, it is not really worth the time to give feedback to Maps. The thing is, if we look at Haddonfield - it takes basically every player exactly one game on that map to see that it is not ok how they reworked it. So why have any hope that the Devs would change it? Because I refuse to believe that they did not see that their Map Rework was bad, it was intentionally done in that way. And therefore, there is no chance that it will be changed.
Same with Coldwinds - the maps were fine after their latest Reworks, with some even too weak for Survivors (Rancid Abattoir, no idea why this was changed. Cowshed obviously needed a change, but Abattoir was fine before and just got worse), but there was no need to change some of the good structures in those awful structures which feature a very weak pallet and a weak Window.
I just think at some point they make it too easy for Killers.
And when it comes to Midwich… I am not sure, but I THINK they removed some Pallets in the rooms to add some in the Hallways. Even tho, the ones in the Hallways were weaker than in the rooms. And I also think that the changes they did to the Hallways did not do much for Survivor and only helped Killers, except for Huntress. She is the only one who gets screwed by those, I think that Billy and Blight can go through the corridors with ease (let alone Nurse, it will still be her best Map).
(The observations for Midwich are not set in stone from my side. I did not test BIlly or Blight on it, because I simply dont want to sit in a long Killer queue on the PTB just to have people DC on me when they see I am not Dracula, lol)

But a Dev just came in and said that MMR is not a win condition nor a prize????
It isnt. But there is a condition which increases or decreases your MMR (which is Kills and Escapes). Therefore, this is a win condition. MMR is obviously not the prize, because you dont really gain anything from increasing your MMR.

I do find it funny that BHVR added a gen kick limit specifically to counter 3-genning, and then proceeds to shrink maps and forcing generators to spawn within eyeshot of each other, making 3-gen strats even easier
Seriously it does genuinely feel like 3-gens just happen with minimal input or set up from the killer just because of how gens spawn on most maps nowadays
Thats the thing. 3-Gens are common on new and reworked Maps and IMO this should have been the first thing they tried to tackle. Since a 3-Gen like seen in the Screenshots from @MarbleThrone is something that should not happen. Especially on Dead Dawg they are really common.
And while I appreciate the solution they went for, I think looking at Maps should have been the first step. Because sometimes there are clearly 3-Gens which only dont result in an easy Killer victory because the Killer is playing nice and not going for the 3-Gen.

That is totally fair.
Killers becoming more complex is pretty normal indeed, it's the new ideas. But I still have this feeling that killers like these 2 may just drain the old ones (more simple ones) in sheer powercreep.
I'm not going to overexaggerate by saying: "Oh, nobody is gonna play old killers then", but we probably will see less of them. Just guessing tho.
And even if so… How can they fix that? Reworking all older killers is just going to take years of work. Buffing them also not going to work, I think?
Fixing an issue of powercreep may only be in nerfs of Vecna and Dracula… Which I don't want to happen tbh, and many other players who likes to play them too.
There is one factor which you forget and which will make it not happen that older Killers are not played - people play whatever Killer they like.
Sure, if you want to win, you can probably stick to a newer Killer. I agree on that one. But not everyone plays solely to win. Because if we would only play to win, everyone would play Nurse.
But you will find plenty of players who still play the older Killers. E.g. I was pretty good with Vecna, had a good time with him. And yet I have not touched him after I "completed" him (which means bringing him to P9), simply because I like other Killers more.
-
You have to keep in mind that Killers like Vecna and Dracula are also more complicated to play. They are overall more complex. And therefore, I think it is fine when they are stronger than older Killers.
I mean, compare Vecna to Wraith. Vecna has four different abilities he can use, and all of them on a quite lengthy Cooldown, so you have to manage them a bit. Wraith on the other hand does "Bing Bong" and gets a Hit.
That over the games lifespan Killers become more complex is normal I guess, since they have to come up with ideas which feel different from other Killers. E.g. Unknown uses their projectiles with a bounce, since direct Hits would basically just be Huntress.
And overall, I think it is a good thing that the more simple Killers are a bit weaker than the complex ones.

No. That you throw Buzzwords like "SWF" into it does not change anything.
-
IMO he was never uncommon. I usually encounter at least one Chucky each day, often enough two. And he has a strong power (even tho some people like to act as if he is a D-Tier Killer since Scamper got nerfed), which also adds to this.
So I am not really surprised that many Chucky-players are around.
-
No, Bloodwarden does not need a Buff. If you want to benefit from it, you can open the Exit Gate yourself. 99ing Exit Gates is absolutely fine and also intended. The EGC is just a measurement to end the game and not a tool to help the Killer (even if EGC is ultimately killersided).
If anything would be done to 99ing Exit Gates you can expect to Survivors just opening the Gates and leaving, which would most likely lead to less Kills by the Killer, since nobody would try to save in Endgame anymore.
-
Play whatever you like, but dont expect others to like it and then also dont blame others for what they are running.
IMO 4 Slowdowns are overkill and not needed and if you decide to run 4 Slowdowns, it shows that you are not really confident in playing Killer. This is just my opinion (which will never change), but at max you need 2 Slowdown-Perks and you will still be able to win the majority of the games.
-
When it comes to the games win condition (MMR), yes, you lost. So you should lose MMR. But this does not really matter, since MMR is just a number to determine Matchmaking and I dont really understand the Obsession of players that they want to keep their MMR high. They dont even see it.
When it comes to your own rules… I mean, you can think if you lost or not, this is up to you. It would be silly to think you did not lose tho. Where should it stop?
"I did not lose because I had bad RNG."
"I did not lose because that one Survivor/that Killer was probably smurfing."
"I did not lose because I dont wear my gamer pants."

I play survivor alot and I can tell you that this would just ruin the nurse. I really don't mind going against them seeing how hard it is to play her effectively
I mean, if Nurse would get some meaningful Nerf at some point would be an improvement.
And well, she is not that hard to play. Her learning curve is steep, I agree, but her difficulty overall is really overexxegerated. There are Killers in the game which are harder to play than her with not even close to her results.
I think 8 seconds are overkill and too long, but having a reward for actually stunning a Nurse would be nice.
-
The only bad thing about this change is that it was not done at the same time they increased Gen Time.
If your strategy involves camping basically every time, you will have it harder, yes. But I think most Killers will not notice the difference and it is one of those changes which get complained about and is never mentioned again after a week.

Cannot say anything about toxic (and nowadays the word "toxic" has lost any meaning anyway, it basically means "doing things I dont like" when people call something "toxic"), but when it comes to "good", this is just normal.
The more unusual a time of the day is, the more likely it is that very dedicated players are playing. The casuals which only play sometimes will play in the late afternoon, early evening. But dedicated players will play late at night or early in the morning or something like that.
(A good indicator for that are holidays, because then you get the casual gamers during the same time as the dedicated gamers, which is noticeable) -

how exactly would they make matches worse? i just can't see it so i'd like you to give examples.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3784625#Comment_3784625
survivors don't need their stealth nerfed outside of taking hostage situations, and that doesn't need to come with a compensation buff.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3784627#Comment_3784627
an escape does not necessarily translate into a win.
shoot, i stand corrected. okay, escape =/= win. but people still want to get hatch escapes and cause the problems i mentioned.
I dont see how this incentivizes players to stop hiding for Hatch, in fact, I think this just makes it worse. Players would just be incentivized to go ahead and find a hiding spot since they will need one to wait for Hatch to spawn anyways.
how and why would this make survivors even more incentivized to play for hatch exactly? they hide in their hiding spot until other gets found to what, jump in hatch and die? i'd understand them doing it out of spite but this makes no sense.
"We want something to prevent unnecessary stalling of games since it wastes everyone's time," followed by, "Also lets make a mechanic that stalls out the game since I want an extra Kill."
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3784653#Comment_3784653
you pointed out the same thing so i'll respond at once. the "minutes" is just like 2 or 3 minutes and that's only in case that the last survivor is about to get all gens done. almost finishing gens but getting killed by killer closing hatch wouldn't be fun.
And I hope that " hatch getting used or closed results in instant death of the survivor." is just poor semantics.
no :) hatch shouldn't be this appealing. people are rightfully saying survivors shouldn't do gens in 2v1s because hiding for hatch is the smarter way to go, you should see the issue here. without a legit reason to hide for hatch, there won't be many people doing it for extended periods except griefers.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3784656#Comment_3784656
There's no accounting for why survivors get stuck not being able to progress the game, and attempting to remedy it.
2v1s are winnable. obviously not from 3 or more gens and not as easily, but they aren't as impossible as you try to make it out to be. have you heard of looping? stealth repairing? pre leaving? you can so easily last for an entire gen against half of the roster. you just need the other person to actually try, and that's only possible if hatch escape isn't an option.
how does hatch address that issue also? does the possibility of getting hatch make the situation "winnable"? what happened to "a hatch escape isn't a win"?
I don't know how to fix the hatch, but I can guarantee that it will involve more than just changing the hatch itself. There's no easy fix for this problem.
if you take people's reasons to get a hatch escape (or to prevent it) there is no problem anymore. seems easy to me.
no :) hatch shouldn't be this appealing. people are rightfully saying survivors shouldn't do gens in 2v1s because hiding for hatch is the smarter way to go, you should see the issue here. without a legit reason to hide for hatch, there won't be many people doing it for extended periods except griefers.
Yeah, this will make me take you not seriously at all anymore when it comes to this topic. Not only does your solution not solve any problems, but it is basically "remove Hatch", because there is not really a point in having Hatch when the Survivor dies anyway.
So at this point your solution is that if the Killer gets a 3K, the remaining Survivor will be auto-killed. I dont think there is any point in discussing with you anymore.
-
How does letting the Hatch spawn MINUTES after the third Survivor dies solve anything? All it does it give more time for the Killer to find the last Survivor, which will just result in said Survivor hiding. Which is the same as now.
So if a Killer slugs for the 4K, you have to potentially wait up to 4 minutes until the second to last Survivor is dead and THEN you still have minutes before the Hatch opens, which would drag out the game even more.
And I hope that " hatch getting used or closed results in instant death of the survivor." is just poor semantics.

You should not underestimate it. The Survivor cannot run immediatly, otherwise they wont get rid of the Exhaustion, which makes their grunts of pain appear. So either they have to play without Iron Will or they have way less distance to the Killer.
@Topic:
This is not the first Thread from you about Iron Will. The Perk is fine. Using Nightlight as statistic shortly after the Perk was buffed is also not the best thing. I can imagine many Survivors tried it out (there are Survivors in the game, after all, who never played with it before it was nerfed) and removed it from their Loadouts already.
In my games (Killer and Survivor) I dont really see it as the fifth most used Perk.

500 bps for hooking, 200-600 bps for hook stages in sacrifice
potential adept/challenges and pips
and most importantly their deserved kill in a match they won. you are in no place to judge that.

But at least not making it possible that players can pick their Items, Add Ons or Offerings would be amazing. I think one of the biggest appeals of this mode was that you dont go against 3+ Slowdowns almost every game or dont go against 4 Exhaustion Perks almost every game.
But this does little if that Nurse decides to bring the two best Add Ons and sends the Survivors to Midwich or if that Survivors think that Badham and 4 BNPs are cool.

Really? I thought Lara had the best in-game voice lines yet, especially her "bollocks!". Still, if people don't like them, they could just disable them. I honestly see no reason for BHVR not to do this.
I think she has some of the worst, but tastes differ. But I just think that at this point they HAVE to give an option to disable them, because more and more characters come into the game with Voicelines and not everyone likes them. And people who dont like them and prefer their characters silent should also be heard, but currently BHVR is ignoring those.
Ideally they put a separate toggle to each character, because for me personally, I like some voicelines and dislike others (e.g. Unknown is amazing).
But if they make a toggle that everyone can decide if they want to hear voicelines or not, they can add as many as they like, because then people can disable them.
-
Nah, really not needed. Or they implement it and then, finally, an option to disable the voicelines.
I dont really see any appeal in them, especially the ones from Lara are really weak. My "favorite" is the "Put me down"-voiceline when picked up. Sounds like a person who is a bit annoyed that her friend picked her up.
Or Alan Wakes mindless screaming. Ugh.
So I hope they will not give every character voicelines, I think the amount of times they are implemented well are quite low.

To be fair some killers might not consider a 3k a win (which is stupid), and there are plenty of reasons for wanting the 4k beyond ego. BP, challenges, adepts, etc.
A 3K is a win, confirmed by the Devs. And while I would agree that Challenges and Adepts are a thing, I highly doubt that every Killer who slugs for the 4K is on some Challenge or wants an Adept.
I dont really see BP as a valid reason, since the time wasted by slugging for the 4K will probably earn less BP than just going into the next game.
And its is not like not slugging for the 4K means that the last Survivor will escape. The last Survivor will only be able to find Hatch when they are lucky (assuming no Hatch Offering is in play), because Killers have all the advantages to find Hatch first (moving faster and no need to hide).

Yeah so just tab out and watch some youtube or something. Actually trying to comeback in the kind of situation will probably take longer and get you nowhere. Besides what right does the survivor team have to complain about the killer denying hatch? Both sides do whatever and anything they can do get the 4-out or 4k if the opportunity arises.
i did not even mention a comeback or anything. You, yourself already said that the Survivors lost aka the Killer won. So why prolong an already won game just for some Egoboost?
-
What does it matter if the killer is slugging for the 4k, you practically already lost so just tab out and do something else.
And the Killer already won. The Killer is basically just slugging for a 4K while already winning the game, just for the Ego, wasting the time of others.

But this where your argument falls down, because even without DS and OTR, it's not a guaranteed kill. It's still entirely possible for all of the survivors to escape. We still have a game.
With what you want, there is no game... you want the killer to basically stand in the corner once the gates are powered and admit defeat.
As I said alraedy, the objective for survivor is to cross the line... not complete the gens. The killer hasn't "lost" until the survibors are over the line. As such, you shouldn't have perks that guarantee you cross the line with no counterplay the killer can employ.
You call it part of the game, yet you think it is good that they are disabled for part of the game. Why is it still part of the game for the Killer, but not part of the game for the Survivors?
(I dont think we will reach a conclusion, so I am happy to agree to disagree)

So why is the killer's "pity kill" not a necessary evil?
I disagree with the notion its a "pity kill" to start with, the killer caught this survivor. If the survivors want to save them, there needs to risk attached to it... otherwise its a pity escape... the Killer might as well not bother hooking...
Like I defend both killer and survivor, but when you say something like "hatch is a necessary evil, but survivors should have second chance perks to guarantee their escape cause the killer has already lost", it's hard not to call you biased...
Man²…
The thing is, Killers think that they deserve this Kill in Endgame because there is "nothing they can do". While they had the full game to kill all 4 Survivors. This is my point - do you really deserve that kill if you failed already for roughly the whole game?
And yes, the Hatch is the necessary evil, because games need a way to end, whether it is with a Hatch Escape or starting the EGC when Hatch is closed. While guaranteed Kills in Endgame are not a necessary evil, since the game at least ends (regardless if the Killer got any Kills or not).
-
Really difficult to balance. The thing is, even if Pallets nowadays are weaker (Killers have more ways to play around them and Maps in general are weaker), on every Map there are at least a few Pallets which are very strong and on most maps there are 1-2 God Pallets.
Rebuilding them with just the cost of 14 seconds or so (if you mention cleansing a Totem) is too strong, because a Pallet like Shack Pallet against a good team can easily make this worth.
Such a Perk also limits future map design. Because you would always have to balance maps with that Perk in mind, so Maps would need to be weaker, because you cannot have so many strong Pallets when you have to keep in mind that they can be rebuild by at least one Survivor.
The Perk basically would need to be unviable to be used and then you can also just not create it.

There is a saying of "It ain't over until it's over".
Repairing generators is not the survivor objective. Until the survivors cross the gate exit line, or the remaining survivors are dead, the game isn't over.
The reason for DS and OTR being disabled in the end game is to make it so there is still a game to play. It's the same reason that hatch exists when the killer has killed all but 1 survivor with multiple gens still to do. It's also the reason why closing the hatch powers the exit gates. If it didn't, there is no point in playing on, the game is over and the survivor might as well just give themselves up.
If you give survivors DS and OTR in end game, it is literally impossible for most killers to defend their last hook. Survivors just trade hits for the unhook, and the unhooked player body blocks for everyone else as you all hold W to the exit. Allowing DS and OTR in end game means there is basically no point in playing further once the gates are open. It's the same reason Adrenaline was nerfed, there is no game to play if a full survivor escape cannot be stopped.
It's times like this where your bias tends to undermine any credibility your argument might have had. You're basically saying it's OK for survivors to have multiple chances to escape via hatch, gates being powered on hatch close, and have tonnes of second chance perks at all times that can make it a sure fire escape once the gates are powered... but killers have only one chance to win, and if the gates are powered then the killer should always lose...
I shouldnt need to tell you that if the survivors objective is to escape, having something that basically guarantees an escape is not good game design.
Man, you call me biased while I even wrote before that I am indifferent on that. I even said that I understand why the changes were made, yet I still think that if a Killer is failing all game they should not get a guaranteed pity Kill. (And before someone comes around - I also consider Hatch a pity Escape, but a necessary evil)

They should just double the amount. If Daily Rituals award double BP they are actually fine, so this should be the norm.
