Oh wow, another "valuable" video from one of the most-biased Killer Mains.
Totally worth to watch. /s
-
If you dont act like a little Snowflake - yeah, Killer is not that bad.
People are overreacting. Or were really somewhat carried by Ruin (even if I dont think so - a bad Killer will not have awesome results solely because of Ruin)
-
Currently using:
Whispers-->In general, a great tracking Perk, but with Static Blast an even better Tracking Tool. Whispers is on-->Static Blast-->Instant into Chase.
BBQ--->I need BPs...
PGTW-->Currently not sure if I want that or not. Other options would be STBFL or Enduring for me.
Brutal Strength-->I like that Perk on Doctor, because people tend to drop Pallets quite early, so it helps to get rid of them.
Also, when using the Reverse Skillcheck Add On, I have seen that Overcharge can be really good, but could have been some lucky shots I had with my games.

I believe that Nurse and Wraith can both be burned by firecrackers.
However, I think that burning a Wraith in general does not actually take him out of cloak, just reveals him for a few seconds before returning him to his cloaked mode.
You can 100% burn a Nurse and a Wraith.
And yes, Wraith SHOULD be uncloaked after being burned. But this is bugged currently.
-
But it is scary to play vs 4 Survivors. 4!! D:

You all keep complaining about BT in dreamworld, when OoO works from 0m on Freddy, which the devs have stated as intended. Now thats some bullshit.
Neither should Freddy negate BT, nor should he be visible by OoO the whole time. Both needs to be changed.
@Yung_Slug said:
That only really applies to face-camping, which is a bad strategy anyway and there are other killers than can do it better than Freddy.
Otherwise, you can just wake up first and then use your BT.
This only works somewhat. As soon as you get hit (which is very likely before the Unhook), you are in Dream World. So being awake does not help that much vs a camping Freddy.
@Topic:
Yeah, it is stupid. It came with the Oblivious Status effect, but it was just a Buff that Freddy did not need. Some Killer Mains here on the forum say that this is "unique"... Yeah, Design Flaws are "unique".

If I modified my schedule to get a sufficient amount of Shards to grind for DLC characters before the Rift ended, my grades would drop and I’d be losing sleep in exchange for playing DBD. It’s not about how “difficult” it is; it’s about how utterly tedious and grindy it is. Regardless of how “hard” you work at playing the game, you gain Shards slower than a HughesNet customer downloads a triple A video game.
Then there is still my other argument: You dont need to get those Shards in 70 Days. The Challenges will still be able to be completed after the Rift closes, they will just not award Rift Fragments.

Alright, press M1 24 times At *Least*, Assuming there is no BT, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, etc. All before 5 easy fast gens are done.
You let me know how that goes for you in 10 matches.
I mean, if I lose, I go to the next game.
OR I can come and cry on the Forum. But I prefer the first option (after insulting all the Survivors and their mothers, of course. Because this is important in DBD)
-
The Emblem does have nothing to do with the BPs. Emblem in Survival indicates the time you were alive. But you can have 0 points in Survival, if you do not struggle on second hook.
-
Thing is, this would highly benefit high mobility Killers like Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Freddy... Those who are already pretty strong.
You would get the benefit of the reduced Hook Time, while also able to travel back to the Hook really fast.
-
Yep, it was fixed. Feels way better now.
-
I am pretty sure that all Survivor Perks which are getting buffed will not be used anyway, even after the Buff.
(Oh, and btw, Peanits confirmed that they have more Killer Perks on their list, but not every Perk is easy to adjust, because some are only Number Changes, others are more complex)

I can assure you that even if it were possible to grind out a full Devotion level in under 70 days without no-lifing DBD, it's without a doubt going to be the better half of 70 days, so you'll have little time to take care of these challenges once you finally unlock them when it comes to getting their fragments for the Rift. If you want to do these challenges for the bonus Rift Fragments—since, you know, grinding the Rift through normal gameplay is actually AIDS—you're basically SOL, meaning you'll need to grind even harder for the sake of the Rift. So much grinding for the sake of this limited-time thing can be removed by just letting us do the challenges that are offered without forcing us to unlock DLC. That's why the fact that they're not part of the main Tome is kind of moot when it comes to the Rift, since bonus fragments are bonus fragments.
Also, grinding Shards is definitely easy, but that's not to say it's fast—because it is absolutely not. It's slower than a Survivor trying to crouch-walk through a Clown's gas cloud when he has Flask of Bleach equipped.
And the Clown is standing in their way.
And above all else, we are offered these challenges to do at our discretion. We have unlocked the pathway to them. We can select them as our current challenge. We have earned them. Yet we cannot do them unless we go through the trouble of earning DLC. We need to earn the right to access this basic feature, and we need to work our asses off if we want to earn its limited-time bonus reward. I don't think that should be a thing at all.
I dont think that I will discuss anymore when you really think that is "working our asses off", because it is just playing the videogame you play anyway. You dont have to do any special things to get Iridescent Shards. And even if you have to do the Challenges later in those 70 days - they are not that many Challenges. 4 in Level 1 and I would guess that there will be 4 for each Level. OR even less, considering that Claudette Challenges were also only two in the Entire Tome 1. Of course there are the Perks, but they will be in the Shrine.
And honestly, at some point they have to do DLC-Characters. And it is totally fine to use those where you not need to spend real money on them. I would have a totally different opinion if you would need licensed Characters for them, because this would indeed mean that people are forced to pay real money on those Characters.
But, even if you dont have Jane/Doctor/Spirit, you will need to spend Shards on them. Given the fact that those are super-easy to obtain and you have infinite time to do so to complete the challenges, this is fair. Like, you should not be entitled to get everything for free (which seems like a common misconception for the Archives, the Devs already made those Challenges way too easy and will not make them more difficult... Tons of free stuff already).

Why should I be forced to either cough up money or grind my buttcheeks off just to be able to unlock these basic features of the game and complete the Tome? The challenges are made available to me; I should be able to complete them without needing to go through the lengths of earning DLC. If I don't have these characters, I literally have to earn the right to do these missions. I am barred from accessing the same features that other players with these characters have access to.
Also, even 70 days is a bit of a time crunch to get 18,000 Shards, or god forbid 27,000 or even 36,000 for later Tomes if all 4 characters are DLC.
If you dont make it to Level 49 to acquire around 10k Shards for one Character, you will never complete the Rift either. Because those would be around 17 Tiers. For 1 Devotion you get almost enough Shards for 3 Characters, this should also be obtainable in 70 Days.
And like I said, you have even more time to get those, because the respective Challenges are not on the Main Track of the Tome, so you dont need them to get the Epiloge. You have basically infinite Time to get them.
Furthermore, you get those Shards by playing the game. Easy obtainable. So there is no hard grind and there is no need to spend a single bit of money to get those Characters. Just buy them whenever you want.

"Do you say that "adjusting toolboxes" means that they are buffing them?"
Not defending him but that's actually possible by buffing accident.
Something like:
"We remove increase repair speed but give more skillcheck appear + increase great skill check size"
I dont think that this will happen.
I also dont think that they will have some special interactions, but I guess the values will be changed. And something like what happened with the Med Kit that Add Ons will give more BPs when hitting Great Skill Checks.
I also doubt that they will make them more useful for Sabotage and less useful for Repair, because Sabotage should not be buffed. (Sabotage needs to be weak to not remove one of the Core Mechanics of the game)
-
Thats a known Issue:
- The Plague's vomit splash can be very loud.
Will be fixed soon™ hopefully.
-
You dont need to do those to get to the End of the Tome Levels. And you have 70 Days to get enough Shards for the Characters. Most likely, if you dont get the Shards, you will not complete the Rift anyway.
And even if you cannot get those Shards in 70 Days, the Challanges stay so that you can do them afterwards for the Lore and BP.
So I think it is fine as long as only Original DLCs are included.
-
It might be a little bit higher because they removed Badham from the Pool (currently). But I did not notice that much of a difference, just a slight increase.
-
"Uhhh... how about Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, We'll Make It, and many other perks? Just because you don't have to interact with a perk doesn't mean it should be nerfed."
Erm.. There is interaction? BT and We Will Make It are perfect examples for interactions between two Survivors. And for Adrenaline you need to actively do Gens OR get chased by the Killer so that others can do Gens. For Ruin: Just use it.
"So they expect survivors to be able to escape within 4-5 minutes. If a killer played how a survivor expects and 3 hooks everyone, that would be 1 hook every 20 seconds of the match. hahaha"
FIRST 2 or 3 minutes. And you should not care about the first Gens, as long as all Survivors are dead before all Gens are done, nobody will care for the first Gens. They even said that when you have a huge Map you should ignore the Gens that are far apart (which is totally correct).

They are NOT changing toolboxes. Their EXACT WORDS is that they're "Looking at them as well as their add ons, but nothing is set in stone." Them mentioning that was nothing more than trying to throw a bone to give killers some hope that they might get some sort of help.
In reality they're 100% only thinking about survivors and they think it's not fun if survivors have to sit on a generator for extended periods of time. So they want to make that as low as possible.
You are guessing, not knowing. Whats next? Do you say that "adjusting toolboxes" means that they are buffing them?

They have enough data. Their own statistics said 55% of the games had no Ruin, and 20% of the red ranks. Thats more than enough data. So why did they not adjust toolboxes in the same patch they adjusted Ruin?
Ask them, not me.
But I guess they know better about their game than you and me.

It would be nice to see scratch marks when in FF too, using FF for tansit takes away a very valuble tool for finding survivors.
I would be happy when you would see Scratch Marks that were "marked" before coming out of Frenzy. Currently when a Survivor is running while you are in Frenzy, the Scratch Marks the Survivor produces will not be visible even when out of Frenzy. Only the new Scratch Marks will be visible.

I understand the point you are making. My only intention was to question why one side has a plethora of strong/synergised builds but the other side have a perk redesigned to actively work against good perks the killer may want to choose
You can have a lot of Synergy without Slowdown. Like BBQ and PGTW have a good Synergy (especially on Freddy). Or Spirit Fury/Enduring, which is basically the Number 1-Synergy everyone can think of.
Or Perks that synergize with the Power of the Killer (e.g. Whispers and new Docs Static Blast).
Killers have way more than massive Slowdown to be played good. The biggest Slowdown is always forcing Survivors into altruistic Actions.
-
They also said that they will adjust toolboxes. That they are also looking into more interaction with Totems (aka more time spend not on Gens) and the Maps might get smaller.
Totally Survivor-biased.
Wrote it in another thread: You hear what you want to hear.
-
@BigFudge said:
"Ruin must stay a hex perk because when combined with perks like Surveillance it synergises too well, would be too strong and thus not fair".
Erm-
Thats a pretty weak build.
And honestly, Ruin and PGTW is kinda overkill, at least with old Ruin. Imagine you have a hard(er) time with Skill Checks and then when you have some form of progress, 25% are removed from it. I can understand the frustration, for me, PGTW is more annoying as well. But at least the Killer has to do something for it.
With new Ruin you play with 3 Perks when using PGTW. Either you cannot use PGTW or you can use PGTW and have no Ruin anymore.
Regarding the Hex-Status, they were talking about that the effect would need to be weaker for a non-Hex.

Yeah, but even I can think of a way to make matches longer and give survivors a different objective.
Imagine all seven gens, two are completely normal and are repaired as easily. But the rest each have three pieces missing. Where are they? Scattered around the map for survivors to pick up and place on any of the broken gens as long as the piece they have is a piece that's missing from their selected gen. It would take about the same time to heal to place the piece back on the gen, maybe less time. So that would mean 15 pieces would be around the map.
Yes, but you are not a Dev and you will have most likely not that much knowledge of the Game and the Statistics like a Dev.
-
They said they are thinking about things which make Survivors interact more with Totems. Also they want to adjust Toolboxes. Or that it might be possible that Maps become smaller.
I mean, its easy to hear only the things you want to hear...
-
Not really.
They said that they were thinking about a Ruin-Change since July 2019. This is quite a long time. They did not have a Meeting on Monday where they came up with "Lets nerf Ruin!" and published that on Tuesday.
So I highly doubt that thoughts about Toolboxes were done over the last couple of days. However, you will need Data to determine how much you want to adjust Toolboxes. Because they should not be too weak aka useless, but you also dont want to adjust them multiple times.

what if when you try to apply pressure presented by your logic 3 gens are flown by because the map size, sometimes too close pallets, good survivors(yes its a ######### issue when me a rank 9 get against way too good survivor lobbies with ranks ranging arround 1-4) and by the time you down and hook all the gens are done and when the survivor gets unhooked you can't hit him cause BT, DS? hmmm, what about applying pressure, right
Honestly, I dont care about Gens being done. As long it is under 5 Gens when the Game ends, it is fine, because then I won. I dont use Ruin for a long time so I know that it can be quite fast for the first one or two Gens.
And regardin DS, BT... Usually I am not that close to the Hook when an Unhook happens, because I am in a Chase with another Survivor. From the stories written here on the Forum it reads like everyone camps and gets confronted with those Perks.
Regarding Rank 9 Killer and way too good Survivors... thats an MM Issue and HOPEFULLY they fix it.
-
You know what a good tool is to apply pressure? Press M1. In best case, next to a Survivor.
You will see how much pressure you can actually inflict once you start injuring/downing Survivors.

Flashlights: Its a Bug. (even tho, I am not sure if you actually get blinded, because the recovery from the Blind is ultra fast. But I did not get blinded while picking up a Survivor, just at Pallets, so I dont know if it would let me drop the Survivor)

Technically it also means you can bleed them out, I guess.
I think the difference is that not YOU are let them bleed out. Same with Kills via EGC - the Entity kills them, not YOU as the Killer.
So when you are directly involved, it counts as a Kill.

I thought it had to be actual kills as well.
Maybe it needs to be reworded. Seems a number of people are reading it as kills because the number of moris going around since the rift started has increased drastically.
Usually, if a Mori is involved, it reads as "by your own hands".
-
I mean, I got a 4K because two Survivors wanted to get their Unhook Challenge ASAP. They did not even get any progress for it, because neither of those two Geniusses was running BT...
But yeah, people should take it easy. They have so much time for the Challenges and it is not really worth to throw games, just to have them finished after two days and 12 days left until Level 2 releases.
-
"So since killers are getting ran into the ground with every nerf, what's gonna happen now?"
And forgets the tons of Buffs Killers received and all the Nerfs Survivors got...
-
If anything, Leatherface is pay to lose.
-
I guess its simple:
First: Points. 1500 points for you for unhooking yourself.
Second: There is an Achievement for this.
But yeah, I hate it as well. I dont heal people who kobe in my face and I am also thinking about just letting them on the Hook when they are trying, but this would only hurt my chances to escape. Also I am way too nice for that.
-

Why shouldn't I use Mori? On what basis?
I mean, if hooking people 3 times is too difficult for you, yeah, you can also use a Mori for that. But dont expect people to like that.
-
This is under known issues:
- Frame rate issues occur when combining The Doctor's Foul Bile and Auto-Lobotomy cosmetics.
Playing Doctor and using any of those Cosmetics? (In the Bug Report someone was only using the Auto-Lobotomy Head, and it was enough for Framerate Issues)

You dont need to use a Mori in the first place for this. Just sacrifice them.

It's not a matter of trying to fix ruin, it's killers just doing whatever they can to actually get some kills in a match. They are just desperate.
Survivors use literally every possible thing at their disposal, I don't see survivors going "Oh I won't take that purple toolbox with the new part, or "Oh we shouldn't try and hook tech this noobie killer they said that was a bug they are trying to fix" no they will use LITERALLY. EVERYTHING. and then harass the killer post game regardless.
I see zero reason killers should not do the same. It's not "Scummy" it's them finally going "We can't afford to be nice and play by the survivor rules anymore, because it's cost is too heavy on us".
Oh no, they were not desperate. The Threads before the Ruin-Change clearly had the intention to make Survivors feel miserable (for a change they did not ask for).
-
Take it easy, you have 70 days for the Rift and two weeks before Level 2 comes out (and even then you can still do the Challenges for Level 1).
If you play Killer, do those Challenges so that you can get from there to the Survivor Track, meaning that you have other Challenges than the other Survivors in your Lobby.
-

Even before the patch, unless I play with headphones on, I can only hear groans clear when they're pretty much beside me, otherwise I'm straining to get a fix on it. It's the same with anything in this game for sounds. Unless I have headphones on, I can only just make out it's coming closer
To be fair, you need Headphones in general when playing Killer.
-
" I keep losing pips, I'm not red rank anymore and I'm sweating for 1 measly kill a game."
This reads like that you were not good enough for Red Ranks to begin with.
-
Since I play a lot of Pig, I have found a Hatch Tech with Pig:
- Find the Hatch first
- Stand directly on it
- Crouch
- When you see the Survivor, close it
- Kill the last Survivor
(seriously, what is called a tech nowadays... D: )
-
I like that idea. It would be enough if there would be like 3 or 4 variations of the Tome, which means that it is unlikely that everyone has the same challenge.
(I am doing the Killer Challenges first so that I can get to the one where both sides can be played and will go to Survivor from there so that I dont have the same Challenges as other Survivors)
