Thing is, are the best Survivors those who do the Gens the fastest? Nobody knows how the system will calculate this.

It's not so much the change but how they went about it and the reasons behind it in both the QnA and designer notes anyone could see it was for survivors, ruin is to hard for low rank survivors so we are going to nerf it, DR is annoying to play against so we reworked him go check the designer notes and you will see that's what they said, we are going to look into slow down perks more so not only did they nerf ruin but they want to go after the other perks that can slow down gen speeds.
But soon as a question comes up about helping killers they pretty much push it to the side and move on, so why shouldn't killers be pissed at the moment when all they are getting told it pretty much all your slow down perks we are going to nerf.
Re: Ruin-->They said it was strong and weak at the same time, and this is something that can be agree on. Because vs good Survivors, Ruin did nothing (yeah, 2% Bonus Progression was stopped, but still). I had Survivors who ignored Ruin and simply played with it, and I am 100% sure they saw it (it was on one of the most prominent Totem Spawns in the Basement of the Preschool, no way they did not see it). And I also can get behind the frustration of newer players with Ruin, especially when paired with PGTW. You have a hard time getting any progress done and the Killer kicks so much of that away.
In the end, new Ruin is better when we look at those aspects, the only thing that is a flaw is that new Ruin benefits those Killers the most, which are good at pressuring Survivors. And who most likely not need Ruin in the first place.
Regarding Doctor-->He is better than before. And I guess his ability to be annoying did not really change that much, but there is more feedback involved. Instead of just starting screaming without any idea why (like, the Killer is very far away, why do you scream? You only hear a little bit of heartbeat), you know WHY you are screaming, because there is actual feedback from the Doc. And if you are a Stealth Player (which most likely every new Survivor is) you can at least somewhat predict it, once you know that his Cooldown is 60 seconds. So if he is close before doing his Static Blast again, you can get distance.
And I feel that this is nice, new players will understand it more than just randomly starting to scream.
And the Doctor Rework went well, only a few people call it a Nerf now, he is so much better to play.

Sadly they will dodge. P2P made them believe it is their lobby, so their rules.
At least you did not that guy that just knocked my Toolbox on the ground with Franklins and DCed afterwards. His name indicates that he is doing that on a regular basis. :x
-
Can we stop destroying Star Wars? Disney was enough, now also let BHVR get their turn?
-
The Survey was way more general than about the Changes of the last Patch. Also they said that they are not intending to rush any changes regarding Ruin (the current version was thought about since July 2019), so what is the point in making a Survey about it? Same with Doctor. I mean, they only changed Freddys Slowdown-Add Ons after months, even tho players were happily stacking those with all the Slowdown Perks all the time.
They dont plan to rush anything and if they will not change Ruin (or Doctor) anytime soon, there is no point in asking for opinions about that.

Isn't it just a 3 second cooldown without addons?
3 seconds per Blink, you can say that it is 3,5 seconds Cooldown for two blinks, because 2,5 seconds are Fatique anyway. So when you wait for one blink, you only wait 0,5 seconds after Fatique.
@Topic:
The Cooldown makes sense to actually give a chance ot get distance. This was the problem with old Nurse, you can simply just blink again, which left not much Counterplay.

I wouldn't be sad if all the killers crying about Ruin left. One little change makes them flip on the people who have been carefully listening to them before, they even broke matchmaking for them! Now that devs are going back to spreading their love they are accused of bias and instantly hated. Good riddance to those that have lost faith in the devs.
Yeah, its kinda sad to see how much ######### is thrown at the Devs when a change is announced which people do not agree with. And every time without testing. Freddy, Doctor, Ruin... Every time the same.
I am even surprised that the Devs are still that active with their Community, when you see that people take the things they said in the Q&A and interprete them or change them. Or simply jump on the fact that one of the Devs thought that Leader was affecting Gen Speed (which is a mistake that can happen), completely ignoring what he actually said.
-
I would say that Ghostface falls in the same category as (other) licensed Characters, because you can only buy him with Auric Cells.
Peanits wrote in another Thread that if a licensed Character will get Lore that you will not need to have this Character (so I guess that Challenges will involve the Perks, but not the Character itself).
However, doubtful how much you can do with Licensed Characters, because it will most likely not be possible to create a Tome without asking the Licensed Holders for permission before.
-
I vote for that.
Close second:
"Length of leading killer on a chase without throwing down all the pallets"
This is basically what shows if a Survivor is good or VERY good during a Chase. Both Survivors might be able to run the Killer around for two minutes, however, one of them uses 4 Pallets, the other guy only one Pallet. Combining several Structures while looping and saving Pallets instead of using them too early is what divides the really skilled Survivors from the average or good Survivors, during Chases.
But I picked another option, because I feel while this is really important, a Survivor who is only available for Chases will not be that beneficial for the team. Efficiency is important so that you know that when you are not being chased, not unhooking, you need to sit on a Gen. Also having a good awareness over the Map, knowing which Generators should be completed early and which Generators should not be completed, because it would either result in a 3 Gen or making it easier for the Killer to patrol them (e.g. Hawkins, the Generator upstairs and in the Portal Room should not be done until 3 Gens are left, because it makes it way easier for the Killer to patrol Gens when those are done early).
-
The number of Nurses I have seen ingame increased lately, but not much. I get at least 1 Nurse each evening. (Most Killers I currently face are with a big gap Huntress, followed by Doc, Billy and Ghostface) I see more Nurses than Hags or Wraiths for example (yesterday I had two Hags in a Row after not having a Hag for solid 3 weeks)
A few weeks ago, when I faced Nurses, they were either REALLY good or learning Nurse (with expected results). However, she is working better on Dedicated Servers now, which increased the number of Nurses again (AFAIK), and in general, I see more Nurses which are not terrible, but also not that scary as before.
Personally, I was a horrible Nurse before the Nerf and I am an even worse Nurse after the Nerf, and I dont have the patience to learn her. And I guess I am not the only one, and there are alternatives - you can also use Spirit, way easier to learn and effective. Or Freddy, Billy... All those Killers dont require the same effort like learning Nurse (not even close), while still being good enough for 4K.
Of course you cannot blink on Top of Survivors and hitting them, but most of the time, you will not need that.
So while the reward for learning Nurse might be high, the effort is even higher.

But you do know playing killer is more frustrating now since ruin nerf.. Especially M1 Killers doesn't have any chance on Big ass Maps right? You get 2-3 Gens popping up in the 1st minute before you even find your first Survivor or First Hook.. That's how frustrating is playing killer right now.. If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about, and the way you talk, I know you're a survivor main..
I am a Survivor Main, I guess 60/40. But I play a lot of Killer. And did not use Ruin. So I am not the right person for this "Killer is stressful after the Ruin Nerf"-Narrative.

And how do you say that? They don't even listen.. Lol.. All they care are microtransactions and bringing more new potato survivors/killers to play their unbalance game.
Only because there is an outrage does not mean that things get changed/reverted. There are even Threads on this Forum that new Ruin is not as bad as people thought.
And if we consider things like Freddy and Doctor where people really were saying that the Killers get worse, it should be quite clear that an outrage should not lead to a quick revision.
-
If anything, bugged DS showed how important the Perk is. Hard to imagine how miserable DBD would be if you can get tunneled after every Hook without any real defense.
This might (or will most likely) also explain Doctors high performance - if you can turn the game in a 3v1 very easy, because you dont have to worry getting DSed, you sure will win a lot more games than usual.

How? He needs two hits to down the unhooker..two hits are like tens meters of chase..unhooked one should already be far away.
Not guaranteed.
A Hag with Make your Choice can do that. Or a Hillbilly, TIer 3 Myers, Bubba (even if you should not unhook in front of a Bubba anyway).
-
I would also assume that they are SWF. One of the Red Ranks (or both of them) with those two guys.
OR what also can be possible: They waited a long time for their match (which can happen, them being that low in Ranks) and then they got the first Lobby which was available.
But SWF is more likely, but obviously not fair at all, especially because those two look like legit Low Ranks (and not those guys who are Rank 18 and use DS/DH/Adrenaline/BT)

There is a Thread here exactly about such a game, where they complain about the first two gens being done early.
It is that ridiculous, I am not making anything up.
-
Lobby-Dodging is pure BS. You should not be entitled to choose vs which Survivors you play. You see Survivors to prepare and not to look for the easiest group by first checking all their profiles if they are SWF, looking for a Lobby with no Item or whatever.

I hate the struggle factor. I'm on Xbox and it's tedious trying to keep mashing the A button repeatedly. I already have the struggle with early Arthritis, and it doesn't help needing to smash my controller into next week. Sure, I suppose I could just 'stop playing' but I really feel like they should just remove it. It wouldn't really change anything gameplay-wise beyond we can now just sit back and wait.

Im not a veteran player, by "long ago" I meant the QTE boom in console games. Its like, no one does games with button mashing anymore. And even if they do, its never used so often and its never one of the core mechanics. Because its boring.
Ok, on Console it is even worse to be honest. Like, I would not like to destroy a Controller by massing A (or whatever Button).

In 2016...
Well the times have changed. I don't think many people still feel that way about it...
Its 2-3 clicks per second, provided there is no lag, or you die instantly...
Its not really about the year, you can still start DBD in 2020 and may like the Struggle-Mechanic. It is more about how long you are playing, sure it is really exciting to "fight for your live" in your first 50 hours. But afterwards, you are just annoyed.
Struggling on the Hook should be automatic. With a button to "Give Up". If they want to keep it for those people who actually enjoy it, they can make it an option, but I would highly prefer to not mash my Spacebar.
-
Items in general should be visible to give the Killer a chance to prepare. Even tho, most will just dodge.
However, Keys in General and Moris in General need serious changes.

It does imagine if i was against a god team that could predict me and not get downed by using long loops for killers not playing spirit.
Losing was on the survivors winning was not on me this was not my skill they had every advantage and should've easily won.
The fact that any gens got done that fast is the issue not that i won remove me from the equation entirely and focus on the time it takes to do a gen.
So you want that it is impossible to do Gens, gotcha.
Can I have more Pallets then? Because, you know, when I am in a Deadzone, I go down in 20 seconds. This should not happen.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
Weird that everyone focuses on the fact that i 4k'd and not what the video showcases. 2 uncounterable 30-40 second gens.

Except they themselves LITERALLY SAID THE DATA ISN'T THE REALITY OF THE SITUATION???
I don't mean to be rude, but I hope you can read what you just typed and realize how hypocritical it sounds right now.
I mean, unless you want to argue against what the devs themselves said and argue that the stats are true regardless of what they said, then I guess we can go back to disputing these stats as well since it "does not mean the stats are showing a different reality":
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/847/AGTI3RYZB2BI.png
...Even though, you know, the devs themselves claimed that the stats are indeed, showing a different reality.
How funny red rank killers can have up to 75% of kill rate in red ranks but in another graph red rank survivors can have an 80% survival rate, simply based on how the data was taken. That's how misleading the stats can be. The two graphs show completely polarizing data and that's simply because of how that data was collected.
I just don't understand what you're trying to argue with here. That the stats are 75% correct? That they're 50% correct?
If I get a math question that asks "5 + 5 = ?" and I answer "9", I'm not 90% correct. I'm 0% correct -- and 100% wrong. Being "close" doesn't make my answer partially correct. Even if we were to agree that the stats were say, 75% correct, what part of the stats are 75% correct and what part is 25% incorrect? How can we tell and filter it out? Beats me.
The stats are either accurate, or they're inaccurate. There is no in between. The end result is that the way they took the stats themselves is inaccurate to the actual reality of the situation and therefore is misleading.
So they are wrong and shouldn't be used for balance discussion or decisions or as evidence. That's simply the fact of the matter. Using these stats, that again -- we know are wrong and don't tell the true story of the situation, as a means for evidence and proof when discussing game balance, may as well be the same as intentionally misleading and weaving a false narrative to sabotage the balance of the game.
No conclusions =/= wrong. And I am talking about the second release of the Stats, not the first one (which indeed had some wrong graphics, like the one you are presenting here).
I honestly dont know what your point is.

Its also like @NoShinyPony said that not just in the horror aspect that we are supposed to be the power roll and survivors can run circles around us in most cases.
Not really.
The thing is: Powerrole does not mean to get constant 4Ks. But people expect that.
-
You dont fear things after a few hundred hours of playing. You can play the scariest Horrorgame for the first time and ######### your pants and if you play it the 5th time, you will not get scared. I like Amnesia as an example - The Dark Descent was pretty scary (we dont talk about A Machine for Pigs, this did never exist). But once you played the game for a couple of times, you only try to bug the Monsters instead of getting scared.
Even tho, there are some Jumpscare Moments in DBD, mostly because of Stealth Killers or old Prayer Beads (which was the one thing why this Add On was kinda good, even tho it was broken balance-wise).
But in general, you are not scared of a game when playing it for a long(er) time.

He got a 4K with 2 Gens left.
So why exactly did those two Gens matter in the first place?

BHVR Releases stats and says "don't draw any conclusions, the data isn't accurate and doesn't the full story" ---> Survivors draw conclusions and use as evidence to say killers are OP.
I would be totally fine if they dont release any stats at all. Because Killers seem to not believe them anyway and while Peanits did indeed say that what you quoted, it does not mean that the states are showing a different reality.
In general I am quite surprised that BHVR is that active with their community, given the fact how ungrateful most people are.
-
While I would be happy if NOED gets destroyed into Oblivion, this idea would not change that much.
When the Killer finds you during EGC, you are dead. It does not really matter if he needs two hits to down you or one.

Killers did that to tell the game is actually unplayable (at least for the standard 4,6 ms killer),
Survivors are doing this to tell an unplayable game is fair to play as and to play against? *derpface*
"Killers did that to tell the game is actually unplayable (at least for the standard 4,6 ms killer),"
It isnt.
Man, it is really funny how you Killer Mains act:
BHVR releases stats-->"You cannot see which Ranks, so they are worthless!"
BHVR releases new stats, with Red Ranks-->"All platforms are mixed, it is worthless!"
Future explanation when BHVR releases stats-->"Survivors kill themselves to false the data!"
I would laugh, when I would not be sure that this is meant entirely serious.
-
Killers using the most broken Gen Rush Builds on PTB to false the Data is ok.
Survivors giving up to false the Data is not ok.
Correct answer: Both things are not ok.
I have not really experienced that. I mean, I have experienced Teammates where I am not sure if they actually want to play the game or just mess with everyone, but I guess thats just the standard random DBD Teammate(s) you get.
(And I highly doubt that this is happening in an intensity that it will affect any data at all)
-
Yes, some people still think it was a Nerf.
-
I know, its sad. Usually I let the last person go after closing the Hatch, if they boop the snoot. Nobody does it :(
In one game I had a Nea who was running around with an active Trap, I blocked her last Box. She tried to get it, I was oinking, but nothing happened. In Endgame Chat she said she will report me for that, I just said that I am a mean piggy and that she should have tried to boop the snoot.
Her response: "How old are you? 5?"
:(
-
It should be reverted. People get to Red Ranks way faster than before, even if they dont belong there. If somebody managed to reach Red Ranks near the new Rank Reset, this person was not that good. But now they are way faster in the Red Ranks, resulting in frustrating games (for them, and maybe for other Survivors).
One explanation the Devs gave was that people who dont play that much will get frustrated because they cannot be in Ranks where players who play more are playing. But this is stupid, it is quite logical that someone who does not play a lot should not get the same "rewards" like someone who plays pretty much every day ("rewards" because there is nothing for ranking up).

This is what bugs me...
The devs say recently they don’t like old Ruin because it put pressure on the survivors with no effort from the killer.
They don’t like all these slowdown perks because they’re obnoxious.
Yet here we have a killer who with no effort on his part gets free slowdown on survivors with add ons and then has them running across the entire map or blowing up their own gens to wake up. All that for free with no effort.
I don’t hate Freddy. His powers are fine. The way the sleep mechanic has been done though and his slowdown add ons just feels dull.
100% agree. But I hate Freddy. I think he is the most braindead Killer currently, because his Snares are simply reverse-bloodlusting. I also agree regarding his Sleep Mechanic, but I would say, this is the best solution. Because if either the Survivors would not fall asleep over time or they would not fall asleep when getting hit by Freddy, this would be a huge impact on his power. Imagine chasing someone for almost a full minute (or 90 seconds, when woken up with a Clock) without using Snares or Pallets on them. Or, when they only fall asleep by getting hit, which also results in immunity while being chased and also no Reduction of the Teleport Cooldown would be possible.
So while the Sleep Mechanic is not really something I like, it is how it has to work.
Power-wise I think Freddy is fine.
__
Regarding Billy: Basekit Billy is fine, maybe they will do something about his Mobility. But personally, I only have a problem with Insta Saw, Tuning Guide and Cooldown Add Ons, not so much with the Basekit.
__
Regarding Ghostface: First they need to fix him. His Reveal Mechanic is broken for both sides. And they need to look into his Stalking Mechanic, because the best way is to play him without Stalking, and this is something that needs to be looked at. Not by a straight Nerf, but making his Stalking somewhat worth to use.
-
Yes, they will release one by one.
Level 2 of Tome 2 will be released on the 4th of February.

I am always up for Statistics. But it might insecure some Killers, after refusing to accept both Statistics provided by BHVR, it might blow their mind to see how they perform without any way of denying those statistics.
What do you mean with mastery? How many Perks you already have unlocked on a Killer?

Ok then lets ignore that its me if you think me wanting 4ks is the issue.
Would this kind of start be fun to a new player climbing the ranks for the first time?
New player fresh out of the gets hit with this:
https://twitter.com/BBBriangaming/status/1221417360357298176?s=19
Will they have fun? Will they want to continue playing?
It's demoralizing. Starting the match and losing ANY gens before a hook feels bad. Especially if its out of your control to stop it.
Come on, you even used only 2 Perks...
And well, new players will get there eventually. But ideally they play vs Players who are not that good, because I guess you are Red Ranks.
And if they play vs Players who are better than they are (and this is a fact, that also Survivors can have Skill, even tho some people seem to forget that), then they derank and have players with (more) equal Skill Level as opponents.
Killers these days are really special.

Yes i complain because it wasn't me that won the match it was survivor mistakes. I lost 2 gens in well under a minute i had 11 hooks to go with 3 gens left.
I did pip but the results don't matter to me its that the situation existed in the first place. I could handle it in that instance but will i the next time?
I could also go out and beat killers using moris/insta downs would those not be bad because i pipped/escaped?
Unfun situations like that should never pop up for either side.
The way I see it is that you want an even easier 4K. It does not matter at all how many Gens are done early, as long as not all Gens are done. The new Gatekeeper Emblem even does not punish that anymore in such a hard way as it did before.
Its simply outright ridiculous that players get comfortable 4Ks and still complain about two Gens done really early, which is simply the case when
a) the Gens were on the other side of the map and
b) Survivors spawn together 99% of the time (which is a bad thing, but it happened since one patch and was never changed since then)

4k with 2 gens left.
I was playing spirit. If i was playing Clown/Wraith/Legion/LF/Plague and so on i would've been destroyed by that situation.
So, you got a 4K. And you still complain? Did you pip?
I mean, what did those two Gens matter in the end? And well, you dont know if you would not have had a Win with another Killer (surely not compareable to Spirit, but a 3K minimum should be realistic)
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
Gens definitely go too fast. This morning i lost 2 gens roughly 40-45 seconds into the match.
1 of those gens popped so fast i couldn't cross the map in time to stop it as spirit despite immediately going for it as i spawned because i knew they'd spawn there...
What was the result in the end? You know, that what actually matters.
