You already have Bloodlust for handholding, and it even gets buffed. You dont need even more. This would make unsafe Loops even more unfair than they currently are (unsafe Loops would be fair without Bloodlust, they are unfair with Bloodlust, but if Pallets get blocked, they would be even more unfair).

As a hag main, ds is not an issue. IIMO its not an issue for any killer since its easily avoidable. I'm saying this as someone who hasn't been stunned by ds in years.
What I mean is that Hag is the only Killer who is slower than most Killers AND does not have an ability which is used in a chase. But then again, even if you get hit with DS as Hag, it is not like it matters.
And what I dont understand is how is there any difference between Trapper and e.g. Sadako when it comes to getting hit by DS.

I'll start to worry about Pig when they actually do something about Nurse.
You know... the one that actually needs a nerf.
Nah, Nurse is fine.
Just discovered a Japanese Twitter Account full of Nurse-videos of games which ended in under 2 minutes (many under 1 minute). So many Survivors having Skill Issues, I cannot believe it!

and swf can still complete gens and open gates in less than 5 mins lol.
This has nothing to do with the video. It is a skill issue if the game ends in 3 minutes because the Killer dominates, but it is a game issue if the game ends in 5 minutes because all Gens are completed.

Your statement is stupidly. I was trying to hook the whole time kind of hard to do so when 2 are running soul guard and boon ex with breakdown boil over with sabo toolboxes on rpd
And from all of this you are complaining about Exponential? The worst Boon-Perk in the game?
-
Big solution: Dont slug.
-
Why should it be harder for the Killers in the lower tier to deal with DS compared to those which you labelled as "mild annoyance"? They are all 4,6 m/s (except for Myers in Tier 1), so completely the same like Trapper.
IMO the only Killer where DS is slightly stronger is Hag, because she is only 4,4 m/s and does not have any Ranged Ability or an ability to increase her mobility.
But in general, all Killers will laugh about DS and Survivors who still bring DS have a wasted Perk Slot.
-
I mean, it is more likely that Pig gets nerfed compared to Nurse getting a Nerf. And if the changes require a Nerf to Pig, it is how it is.
But would be nice to see how long this build can exist, because if players have to prestige, they will get less purple Add Ons, since they are not doing Level 50-Bloodwebs all the time.

sure i think survivors should get an increase in bp for chase, hits, and healing but a nerf in gens
IMO Gens should take a Buff when it comes to BPs. I work 80 seconds (soon 90 seconds) on a Gen for 1250 BPs. If I hit 4 Great Skill Checks on said Gen, I have roughly the same in a shorter amount of time.
-
A reason why they were disabled was that the Devs were forced to create versions of the Maps with each possible lightning. This is way too much work.
And knowing DBD nowadays, even with Darkest Moonlight the Maps would probably be bright as hell, so it would be a lot of effort for nothing.
-
Streamers aside, the Killer should not be able to see names and profiles in the Lobby anyway. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason to show those in the lobby, they just promote dodging, because the Killer might dodge due to SWF, a Survivor who has more than 5 hours in the game or god forbid a private profile.
So names and profiles should be removed from the Lobby. Regardless if someone is streaming or not.
-
I did not notice any change.
-
Nurses Calling was out of the Meta long before Boons were released. It is just the easiest to stack as many Slowdown-Perks as possible, so A Nurses Calling had no place anymore.

The game did not end in 3 minutes. The game took longer and ended in a 4K.

It's almost like high MMR sweaty SWFs ruin the game. It's so easy to call out what gens are almost done because the game doesn't have built in voice comms for a reason but SWFs using them which is unavoidable is fine. Because Solo Q is such a nightmare people only play SWFs these day and all the matches become sweaty gen rushes. It's almost like the survivors need a constant second objective they can't ignore.
You know that "high MMR sweaty SWFs" are just the excuse tru3 is using? Because he is one of the people who are really not able to reflect their own mistakes. He rarely has the thought that he did not play good.
(He will also probably never be great with any Killer, because he plays all of them AND does Viewer Builds, and sometimes those are just bad (like this Clown-Build he is using in the video)).
In fact, tru3 is one of the reasons why I would find it funny to see MMR. I am usually against it, but this dude is claiming that he is high MMR all the time, and it would be funny to see him at around an average level.

I can agree with that. I never played billy much before the change so I can’t really say what it was like. Also I wonder why his cooldown add ons were removed when killers like huntress and even blight kept theirs
Cooldown-Add Ons were pretty bad, because they allowed to mess up a lot, because you could lower the Cooldown A LOT. Also, they probably did not want Billy to sprint full Map and be immediatly ready to Chainsaw again.
When it comes to Billy before they changed his animations - he was a lot better to play. I mean, between their first change of animations and the actual Nerfs, there was a period where he had bugged animations (at least I hope that those were bugged), and he really felt horrible during this time. And I guess some Billy-players gave up on him during this period.
But with the current animations, they are okish and if you run Shadowborn, they are decent. But he was way more smooth before those changes. The difference is basically night and day IMO.
-
@Phasmamain said:
He was competing pretty well until his add ons were gutted and he got overheat. No wonder no one plays him anymore when blight is both better and easier
If you would remove Overheat tomorrow, you wont see more Billy-players (in the long run). I think the main reason why he is not played that much is because he feels really clunky since they changed his animations and PoV. His super-huge Chainsaw-Hitbox is also not really helpful, while it makes hitting Survivors easier, it also makes hitting basically everything else easier.
If they would have never changed his animations and PoV, you would see way more Billys, even with Overheat and nerfed Add Ons.

@Mooks said:
Unpopular opinion:
Billy needed some kind of nerf and while they overdid it he is still in his current state a strong and viable killer - just has a higher skill floor and isn’t as effective as S-tier killers
You are completely correct on that one. The Nerf to Billy was well justified, people said that Billy was "the most balanced Killer" back in 2017, Killer became easier over the years. Clearly Billy is not "the most balanced Killer" anymore after all those years.
@Yords said:

I somewhat agree. But the issue with him were his addons. When combined the charge time addons were pretty damn powerful. They overdid it though, by so much.
Billy never needed Chargetime Add Ons to begin with. They should have never been a thing IMO.
-
Legion has always been a very boring Killer to go against. Funnily enough, they are one of the most fun Killers to play IMO.
However, it is just boring to go against Legion. And they are the prime example for "Survivors dont only complain about the strong Killers", because Legion has been on the weaker side since release.
And they will be even more boring to face with the Thana-Buff and 90 second Gens.

But, like, if you hit a survivor once i=with feral frenzy and they purposely get downed to end Corrupt...Wouldn't it be better to equip a perk that has more usages (perhaps Thrilling Tremors)?
No Survivor will go down just to end Corrupt Intervention early. This will never happen and if it happens, that specific Survivor is pretty dumb.
Having Corrupt Intervention up for 2 minutes is way better than having an early Down for the Survivors.

I think the only thing about Nurse that needs to be slightly nerfed are her range addons.
This is something I read all the time - no. Not only her Range Add Ons. Her entire Kit needs a Rework.
If the Devs would nerf the Range Add Ons, it would certainly be a step in the right direction. But it will not take long to realize that Nurse is still broken and needs a Rework. And I would prefer if the Devs would do it right for once and not take months to nerf the Range Add Ons, just followed by years of inaction.
-
Nope. The Killer will still get an undeserved advantage. And if the NOED-Totem is near the hooked Survivor, seeing the Aura does nothing.
Let alone that the dumb "counter" of cleansing Dull Totems still exist. And this with 10 seconds more per Gen...

Give afkers a penalty too then. They also ruin the game.
Should we give people who went down in 20 seconds also give a penalty? Because they are also ruining the game.
Maybe also ban people who do unsafe Hook Rescues? Or those who decide to cleanse a Totem instead of doing Gens?
Your proposal is really unrealistic.
-
I did not play Solo before (always 2 man SWF) for a very long time.
And now it will be even less likely that I play Solo Survivor. Probably rather looking for other people to make 4 man SWFs, even without Comms.
-
There are no plans to reward Devotion. But there should totally be things that reward Devotion, because those are the long-time players.
-
If they cannot suicide on Hook, they will just go afk. So there is 0 point in changing anything, you will not be able to force people to play.
DC-penalty is low for a reason, because you can have an actual emergency or your internet just crashes once. So 5 minutes is ok for that, it would be bad if this would mean that you have a really extended penalty.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Then people will rush gens more and feel less pressure to go for the hooks soon.
Also Camping killers like Bubba or Hag, etc. will not stop them, they will do it anyway.
I mean, at the very least they have to even out the Buff to camping they did with the upcoming Midchapter Patch.
And well, I see nothing wrong when the 3 remaining Survivors can complete all 5 Gens against a camping Bubba or Hag...
-
Hook Timers in general should be increased to make camping unattractive.
-
pls stop.
-
Two ideas which can both come or one of them:
The BP-Cap is increased by 100k BP for each Level of Devotion. So the Cap will be 2 Million after the Patch, I have Devotion 35 or something like that. So my BP-Cap will be 5,5 Million BPs.
(Not sure if this is even good, because I feel 2 Million BP-Cap is already way better than 1 Million before).
Second idea:
A specific Outfit for each Character is created. The Outfits look all the same, you can think of them like the Claudette/Deathslinger-Outfit from the Anniversary last year or two years ago.
Just create outfits with some Pattern like this for every Character. And for each Level of Devotion the player can pick one of the Outfits which will get added to the Inventory.
And there are so many Characters that even players with really high Devotion Level will probably not unlock all of them immediatly. (Currently 59 Characters)
-
If the Perk is really, really strong, it should have Downsides. Otherwise not.

@Advorsus said:
The simple fact of the matter is that in any online game, things do get nerfed and buffed continuously to keep things fresh. Yes there will always be a 'meta' where some things are just stronger than others. You can see this in EVERY online game. Call of duty, Halo, dota, league of legends, WOW, ect...
You'll always have balance changes that alter the meta to where things that were strong before, aren't strong afterwards. Heck I've played league for 12 years and have seen every kind of meta change possible lol.
The point is to make it to where more things feel viable, while removing the feeling, "I HAVE to run this specific load out every game."
And they've definitely done that.
"while removing the feeling, "I HAVE to run this specific load out every game.""
Where did they do that when it comes to tunneling and camping?
-
@jesterkind said:
Respectfully I disagree.
If all you do is buff less frequently used perks, nobody will swap off their meta loadouts because they'd have no reason to. Even if you buffed less frequently used perks to be as absurdly strong as the current meta loadouts, that's not going to fix the problem because you just have the current problems on top of new ones.
In order to shake up a meta effectively you have to nerf the most commonly used things, and quite noticeably to boot. Otherwise it's shifting the responsibility of the supposed shakeup onto players to choose to stop using their same-old same-old, which they're just not going to do en masse.
The goal was to make players run different perks, and I think they achieved that admirably. In some cases it's a one to one swap, but there's still going to be more room for experimentation and variety here.
Yikes.
Wihle it is true that the strongest Perks need some Nerfs and the weaker Perks need some Buffs to change the Meta, the way the Devs did it is just wrong.
They did not nerf the strong Perks, they nuked them. I mean, look at DS - there is 0 point in using DS now. People who played after DS got the Unhook-requirement will already know that 3 seconds is not enough. There is almost no distance gained. Before DS was already useless against the strongest Killers, now it is useless against basically every Killer.
The goal should be to offer ALTERNATIVES to DS and not to replace it with Off the Record.
Same on the Killers side, Ruin got nuked. But you will just replace it with another Slowdown-Perk. Whats the point when the only reason for doing that is to brag about "We changed the Meta!", when their decisions are just stupid? Especially because on the Killers side, nothing changed, it will just be 4 different Slowdown-Perks now. (And even worse - stacking Slowdown-Perks is even more advised because of the BBQ-Nerf).
So, if you think that it is "admirably" to go the super-lazy way of nuking Perks into being useless so that players are forced to run other Perks (without even addressing the reason why those Perks are used, this is something they also talked about, but this does not happen. At least I dont see any meaningful Anti-Tunnel-mechanic in the game...), then you are easily impressed...

This 100%
they don't want stealth back since there are so many killers perks, addons and even powers which negate stealth
Exactly. I mean, Dredge is the newest addition to "No Stealth allowed", with bright Survivors during NIghtfall and Killer Instinct after Teleport.
Personally, I am fine with that, I dont really like Stealth. On neither side, I prefer Chases, I have more fun chasing a good Survivor than searching for some Blendette.
But whenever people say they want stealth, it should be quite clear that BHVR is going the complete other direction.
-
@Grigerbest said:
Yup, thats exactly what I said. Finally some love for weaker killers.
After update, I hope survivors will think twice, before going to killer just to annoy him, and get away just coz killer can't do anything even with good plays, instead of hiding and avoiding killers.
Bring the hide and seek back to dbd!
Dont worry, you will still get wrecked by Survivors who are better than you.
And nope, BHVR does not want "hide and seek" back in DBD. They are doing everything that Stealth becomes a useless option, from Killers who reveal you with Killer Instinct to Nerf to Stealth-Perks.

Does it? So weird it goes to objective instead of survival like exit escape. They should really adjust the BP for survival.
Yep:
Score Events are used to award Players with Bloodpoints in Dead by Daylight . They are triggered through various actions and interactions that the Player can make during the course of a Trial. Score Events are awarded in 8 Categories, 4 per side: For Survivors : Objectives Survival Altruism Boldness For Killers : Brutality Deviousness Hunter Sacrifice Additionally, there is a special Category reserved for Score Events that can only be triggered by interacting with Special Event Props. TriggeringAlso just checked it, 2500 BPs for escaping via Hatch in Objectives.
And yes, it does not really make sense. But at the same time, we had Self Healing-Skill Checks which gave Altruism Points for many years...

@ShinobuSK said:
Why not just make it not affect medkit speeds? This change is the dumbest ######### ever
This. Either that OR the (Self) Healing Speed should be capped at a certain amount. So that even if you bring a Green Medkit with Double Speed, Botany Knowledge and CoH, it caps out long before you can reach the insane speed.
Biggest problem I have with this change is that if you want to bring Botany Knowledge to increase your Healing Speed, you will not be able to heal yourself if you grab a brown or green Medkit out of a Chest...

Has tunneling and camping ever not been the meta? 🤣
I'm curious to see if it'll happen more or less after the changes. My guess is killer mains will try to be more aggressive with it and it'll probably happen more often for awhile then feel like the same old thing again.
Tunneling and Camping was always the best way to play the game as Killer, if you are fine with it being boring to play, but getting the results.
Now it just gets buffed with the next Patch.

It'd take alot of self caring with a hatch escape.
Hatch Escape grants Objective Points (on top of the 5k for Survival for escaping), if I am not mistaken.
@Sonzaishinai said:
I do wonder if they will atleast increase the escape and sacrifice one
Especially escape. Can you even get 10k points in that category?
Very hard. Especially with the DS-Nerf (this gave you 1k BPs for escaping the Killer and then 1k/1,5k BPs for either dying or escaping as Obsession).
If we remove this, because DS will not be useful anymore, you will have to go against a Doctor and Snap out of it A LOT or play a bunch of Mending Simulator against Legion to max out the category.
And I am still wondering why they dont just remove the Category Cap at all...

The thing with stridor was i didn't like how one survivor perk could counteract multiple addons and a killer perk on its own ofc (removing spirit from the equation) you have freddys rope addon. And stridor as a perk being counteracted. When a killers perks need to be more valuable then a survivors to accommodate for the 1v4. Obviously throwing spirit into the equation changes things but i personally didn't like the idea of stridor being a dead perk either. But one would have to give eventually i guess. Which ofc the non meta wins in the end.
The thing is, even people who disliked Iron Will did not run Stridor back in the day. Except on Spirit. And if a Perk is only really useable on one Killer, it is not really a good Perk and should be changed. And IMO instead of nerfing Stridor, it should have been completely reworked back then.
But now Iron Will is dead. And with it probably Lucky Break as well, since there is 0 point in hiding your Blood and Scratch Marks, when you can be heard.

Ah alright. I thought them adjusting the sounds as a whole would make it more fair but makes sense. Like if they lower the intesnity of say bill jane or claire but raise like ace claud and feng.
The thing is, adjusting the sounds does nothing. Because you can even hear an Ace when your Headset is good enough. Especially if Stridor-Spirit comes back (even tho, Spirit got that Perk Slot for free... I mean, this is what an S-Tier Killer needed, a free Perk Slot).

Did you really use iron will that often? I mean ouch if so. But personally im a memer like red herring blast mine or quick and quiet head on. More power to you obviously but im just wondering if this is is over the top. Personally i like that claire won't sound like she had a asthma attack while running if they lower everything overall. Of course bringing up ace and others that are much more quieter as well to make it even ground.
Yep. Using it for years, mostly because I cannot stand the injured sounds. I will also stop playing some Survivors entirely, e.g. I did not like Jane before, but I wont play her anymore. Same with Claire, I like her Skin, but not her injured sounds.
Without any way of removing those, I will not touch those characters again.
(Like, really, I dont care about any Survivor Perk Nerf, except for Iron Will)

I mean blocking out an entire part of the games design (your easier to be found while injured) is pretty nuts for a perk on its own. That doesn't have any downside or stipulation besides being injured (which it was bugged to affect breathing in general anyway) i don't think a perk should ever remove an entire part of a games design.
Yeah, it is whatever. I honestly dont care anymore, they nerfed the Perk just because it was Meta.
I will just play way less Survivor than before, fine by me.

Yeah, maybe not as hard as some make her out to be, but still pretty damn hard. Top 3 for sure.
The saddest thing you'll see in DBD is a baby nurse.
Yeah, but a Baby Nurse is in the learning phase. Which is the hardest.
When you learned the Killers, I think Billy, Huntress, Deathslinger, Blight and probably some more are harder than Nurse.
-
She is hard to learn. When it comes to playing her, after you got used to her Blinks, there are Killers who are harder to play than her.
But her learning curve is pretty steep, you will get quite a bunch of stompings while learning her.
(Does not excuse the fact that she is allowed to stay in the game as she is, but whatever, Devs are too scared)

why would they be reverting the change, the perk has been meta since its conception. they're going nerfing certain survivors because of their build-in iron will. Mainly they will be nerfing Ace and Kate because these two survivors have build-in iron will for whatever reason.
They will also be buffing Jeff and Ash who for whatever reason have base-kit stridor.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0aFo4lPARw
Otz already has made a video about this 2 years ago.
A lot of survivor players will be abusing Iron will kate and Iron will Ace. At least they nerfed Spine chill+Iron will blendette build.
First of all, nobody is abusing anything when they run Iron Will on certain Survivors.
Second, they only nerfed Iron Will because it was Meta. Thats it. And it is dumb. But instead of reverting the change, they do changes to the Survivors, which will be pointless anyway, since Iron Will is just dead.
-
Disappointed that they did not revert the Iron Will-Change. It will still not really do anything at 75%. Adjusting the volumes of Survivors will not really help with that.
And in fact, they are adjusting the sounds because they want to brute force their Iron Will-Nerf just to "shake up the Meta". And personally, I think it makes a lot of sense that a giant guy like Jeff is more noisy than other Survivors.
But even if you make him less noisy, this does not change anything as long as Iron Will is only at 75%...

My problem is, I will now have all Characters with this portraits, which is cool. And yes, I can disable it. But when a new Survivor and Killer are released, those two will not have this effect. And this will trigger me.

All they need to do is increase the Hook Timer. At the very least to compensate for the increase in Gen time, better increase it by quite a lot so that camping simply becomes bad.
-
Man, I wish they would scrap the reward entirely. Maybe this will stop the crying.
