Nurses should be adjusted, I think
こんにちは。
Nurses have always been a focus of discussion.
I have seen a lot of discussion lately, especially regarding nerfing many nurses.
Before I conclude, I believe that the nurse should be adjusted.
And it is more of a nerf.
We will consider several points separately.
①Increases the gauge recharge time of blink after a nurse blink attack hit by (x) seconds.
The reason why the nurse is so strong in DbD is that she destroys the concept of the chase.
When a survivor is being chased by a killer, the objective is basically to "buy time" by making use of pallets and windows.
Nurses are almost the only ones with the ability to completely disable pallets and windows.
But it will be difficult to address this issue without completely reworking the capabilities.
So I turned my attention to the core purpose of the Chase: to make time.
In other words, by making the recharge time longer than it is now for a successful blink attack, the survivor will be able to buy more time than now.
This is because during the long recharge time, the distance can be separated.
Still, a good nurse may blink just right, but that is the result of mastery of the nurse.
Note that this idea of increased recharge time does not include the requirement for increased state of Fatigue time after nurse blink.
This is to avoid making the second mistake of hillbillies and death slingers by completely destroying the quality of life in playing nurses.
②Decreases the gauge charge time of blink after a failed nurse blink attack by (x) seconds.
One of the reasons DbD is difficult to coordinate is the wide variety of user groups that play it.
If the adjustment in ① is just made, it will definitely result in damaging the beginner. We need to consider the beginner.
I have an idea to decrease the recharge time for a failed blink attack, opposite to ①.
This will allow beginners to be more aggressive in their attempts at blink attacks than they are now.
For beginners, it is more difficult to give a follow-up attack if a blink attack hits, but making the challenge of the blink attack itself easier may make it easier to use the nurse.
③Adjustment of add-ons
I have seen some discussion about nerfing nurses, and many survivors seem to be allergic to double-range add-ons.
But instead of just nerfing without thinking, we need to think about why double-range add-ons are used so much.
Why is the usage rate so high?
We believe this is because most of the nurse add-ons are useless.
(For example, Nemesis, with all its add-ons related to zombies, despite the fact that zombies are not very smart, had a high usage rate of Marvin's Blood, which has the most use of quickly increasing the mutation rate, but it is wrong to nerf it without thinking about it.)
We know that it is very difficult to come up with add-on ideas that will modify the nurse's power upward.
However, the list of add-ons as it stands now has little appeal to add-ons other than range add-ons. The ones that shorten the charge just seem a bit more appealing.
Currently, the range add-on has a disadvantage that increases the recharge of the blink by a percentage.
The percentage is weighted more heavily by ① increasing the base recharge time after a successful blink attack. This allows us to expect a relative nerf without touching the ranged add-on.
And completely rework one of the add-ons.
Plaid Flannel: reduces the blink recharge time after a blink attack hit by (x) seconds.
The blink recharge time due to ① can be canceled by this add-on.
In other words, in order to have the same blink recharge time as now, you need to use this add-on in one of the add-on slots.
This may reduce the usage of double-range add-ons in a pseudo way.
These are my thoughts.
I would like to hear your opinions on this.
Comments
I think the only thing about Nurse that needs to be slightly nerfed are her range addons.
Actually, you may be right.
However, I believe that after the range add-on is nerfed, Survivor will start calling for a new charge shortening nerf.
They need do something. Lately everyone just gives up on the hook or DCs when they realize it's a nurse.
Not everyone, only the self-defeated losers.
The real players are powering through, and learning, and improving.
And still dying on first hook.
That's a backwards way of nerfing Nurse (a Killer that doesn't even need base-kit nerfs)
This is something I read all the time - no. Not only her Range Add Ons. Her entire Kit needs a Rework.
If the Devs would nerf the Range Add Ons, it would certainly be a step in the right direction. But it will not take long to realize that Nurse is still broken and needs a Rework. And I would prefer if the Devs would do it right for once and not take months to nerf the Range Add Ons, just followed by years of inaction.
Solo-Q is a b* xD.
