Are you sure they said that?

or was that only related to the past exclusive event cosmetics as they had a different system and couldn’t restore those cosmetics for people that lost them? (While they explicitly stated how they treat legacy differently)

If I remember correctly, they were not able to identify who lost the Lunar Event-Cosmetics. So they gave them to everyone, with this they were able to make sure that those players who lost them, got them back.

The part with "no exclusives" came with the Cosmetics which were available at Conventions. Like the Dweard-Head or the Golden Feng Min-Skin. Those were sold for very high prices on Ebay and other platforms and they were also part of a scam. So they wanted to remove the ability to make money of them and also prevent people from getting scammed.

I’m sorry bhvr but whenever I play Dbd I never see anyone use Jonah or his perks

Because Jonah is a pretty boring Character. And his Perks are garbage.

Maybe the Tome will give a bit of spice to his Lore.

  • If you want to go for strength, grab Pinhead instead.

I would not say Sadako is the worst Killer in the game. And you can win against the majority of Survivors you face with her. And personally, I have more fun while playing her than playing Pinhead.

But you should not expect Miracles. She is far away from being a really strong Killer (same goes for Pinhead tho).

  • Are Killers now at the point that they complain about MacMillan? The MacMillan-Maps are as balanced as DBD can get. And in my opinion, players who burn MacMillan are mostly those players who want to go on a normal Map and just want to avoid an Indoor-Map or something like that.

Mandy has already covered that by saying a Killer protecting a 3gen and not giving chase isn't holding the game hostage because they are fulfilling thier objective to keep survivors from fixing the gens. It may be boring but I'm the end it's the Survivors fault for putting themselves into that situation

I am 100% sure the opposite was stated. Otherwise I am very happy to see a quote.

As a Killer, you have no reason to leave the area.

But as someone said, it's on the Survivors to check what generators are done before starting one. Or to go to the middle area at the start. But solo Q tend to stay on one side all together then discovering the three generators situation. Their fault. If I see my teammates doing the shack generator, for instance, I'm going to run doing the opposite side gen. People love to start with the nearest gen then doing the one from two meters away instead of finding a new gen somwhere else.

While you are correct, a Killer can also hold a game hostage if they never commit to a chase and just scare Survivors away from the Gens. At some points the Survivors have to stop hiding and try to do Gens and at some point the Killer has to commit to a chase instead of just pushing the Survivors away.

    @Topic:

While it is indeed a problem that can occur when one of the sides does not want the game to end (as explained above), I dont think that you can fix anything without making it pretty unfair. Because 99% of the time it is the Survivors fault if they end up in a 3-Gen. Some Killers play on a 3-Gen, but from my experience, this happens quite rarely. And even more rare that there are actual builds to foce a 3-Gen.

Pretty sure they were saying that these don’t count as legendary skins?

though i would still expect the majority to be sets.

They said that instead of making them look like the Characters (aka Legendary Skins), they are more like the DBD-Characters cosplaying the Attack on Titan-Characters. I am very sure that the Killers will be Sets.

But the Survivors might not be Sets, but I think both is possible.

  • Hawkins was only good for one thing: Pallet-breaking Challenges. Because there were tons of it and most of them did not need to be broken in a chase.

Other than that, it was a horrible map. As Survivor, you have to hope for the Stun, otherwise you are dead. And depending on the Killer it could be really a pain to play on because you might not even really be able to use your power (e.g. it felt like whenever I wanted to play Billy, I ended up on Hawkins).

  • DBD done by Netease is a different game than DBD done by BHVR.

The name is the same, but you should not look at it. This is basically comparing Dead by Daylight with Dark Souls or Need for Speed. You can find similarities, but they are different games. And this also applies to Netease and BHVR.

  • Always the same stuff. Maybe use the Search-Function?

    • The Devs said that they thought about regressing Exit Gates but decided against it.
    • EGC is not implemented to grant additional Kills or put extra pressure on the Survivors, it is just that the game can end.
    • If the Survivors dont open the Exit Gates but you want to have EGC (for Bloodwarden or to force an End to the game) you can open the Exit Gate yourself as the Killer. This is why it was implemented.

You would be able to get all those information if you would just use the Search-function.

  • Netease is China, not Japan.

And from my experience with Chinese Developers who work on an IP for a specific market, you can consider DBD mobile designed by Netease as a completely different game. Yes, it is also called "Dead by Daylight". But thats it. It is not the same game as we know from PC and Console.

I know this from another game I am playing, the Chinese Server has some content which the other Servers will never get, simply because it is not balanced.

  • Because Killers have different SBMM-Ratings. And those are used for Matchmaking.

Being able to switch in the Lobby would just mess up the system. E.g. if you are quite bad at a certain Killer, you should get Survivors who are not that strong. However, it would be unfair if you would be able to switch to your best/strongest Killer in the Lobby.

  • Easiest solution:

Remove the 8k BP-Cap per Category. Leave the 32k overall BP-Cap to avoid endless farming Matches. And then you have solved both the low BP-gain of Survivors AND the low BP-gain of certain Killers (e.g. those who struggle to gain Deviousness-Points like Pig).

However, the solution is so easy that we already know that BHVR does not want to go for the easiest solution.

Can´t we just wait and see how things perform on live?

PTB has its advantages, but is in no way a real presentation of how people play.

Yes. Because we need to have it on live to see if Survivors will stack Second Chance Perks and if Killers will stack Slowdown-Perks.

We will only see if this happens if the Patch 6.1.0 goes live...

The Bloodweb doesn't get big enough to spawn the Entity until level 12.

Level 10 is an exception because it spawns two perks, which forces the Entity to appear the moment you grab one.

    ^ exactly this.

In fact, you can hear the Entity appear at Level 11 once you took the last Item in the Bloodweb.

  • @Tsulan said:

I remember a profile of someone with a couple thousand hours, who had the killer rank 1 achievement with a total of 7 kills.

Back from the time, where people could reach rank 1 without actually killing.

There was actually a Bug some time ago (I think it was January 2020) where the Achievements for Iridescent, etc. on both sides became unlocked for everyone.

So if someone has it unlocked at this point, they might have never actually reached Rank 1 on either side.

  • Yes, some Perks were overnerfed just to make them not worth picking at all.

DS, Iron Will, Self Care, Spine Chill, Ruin, PGTW are examples. You could have nerfed all the Perks a bit and they would still be playable:

I think that neither of those Perks needed a Nerf, but this would have been enough:

    DS-->Deactivate in Endgame

Iron Will-->No Noise Reduction when exhausted

    Spine Chill-->Remove Vault Speed-Bonus

Ruin-->Disable it when a Survivor is dead is enough. And would have been quite a fair nerf, since the Killer is in a really good position anyway when it is a 3v1 and Ruin is still up. The reduction of Speed is what killed the Perk.

PGTW-->Probably nerf to 20% of overall progress instead of current progress, basically just to remove the Buff it would have gained when increasing Gen-Time.

And all of those Perks would have been weaker (except for Self-Care, but come on, it did not need a Nerf at all...), but still playable. Now those Perks are just out of the Meta, they are dead. No point in running them.

And the worst thing is - yes, the Devs have shaken up the Meta with it. But what is the Meta? For Survivors it is running the best Second-Chance Perks available, so they run Off the Record instead of DS. Yaaaaay.

And for Killers? 4 Slowdown-Perks. Just different ones than before. Yaaaaay².

I would have understood to nuke the Perks when they would have introduced basegame-changes. Because they said they keep in mind WHY people are running them. But this did not really happen.

  • Yeah, its baffling sometimes.

Especially if you think about it that they nerfed Pinky Finger (even tho the annoying part still remains and it is still busted as hell), an Add On from one of the worst Killers in the game without any compensation to his Kit or other Add Ons and in the same patch they buffed Adrenaline Vial from Blight from his worst Add On to one of his best Add Ons (while leaving the other busted Add Ons he has untouched).

  • Nope. And it was not a "tech" either. This is also funny - DBD-players call everything a "tech".

  • This was also not abusing Perks.

Can you stop using the word "abuse" for "Stuff I dont like"?

  • The Locker-Achievement is brand-new.

But in general, the number of completions does not really mean anything. Because not everyone who bought this game actually played it. And those who started it might not even played one match. And those who played one match might have only played for 2 hours and never touched it again.

  • Understandable. I finished the Rift already, but I have the Tome-Challenges. And something died in me today when selecting the "Kick 50 Pallets/Generators/Walls"-Challenge.

  • @Seraphor said:

Can you give me an example of something that would be abuse?

Seems to me that a blanket statement of "nothing is ever abuse if it involves any perks whatsoever" is fairly disingenuous.

I dont think that anything which is used in Trials is "abuse". This goes from strategies over Items and Perks and general gameplay.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041224#Comment_3041224

Nobody is abusing a perk just by virtue of using it, no.

But that does not mean perks cannot be abused.

Sticking CoH at a distant safe loop, and then running to that safe space after every hit while another team mate takes aggro and repeats that process, puts the game in a stalemate that the killer cannot resolve. Only by committing to an unwinnable chase, in order to snuff out that totem, and thereby guarantee they lose the final gen. After which the illusive booner can just rebless and repeat.

With sufficiently coordinated survivors, this is as unplayable for the killer as a Boil Over in the corner with no hooks within 50m, and is tantamount to taking the game hostage.

Is that 'abuse'? I suppose it depends on the intentions of the survivors, which isn't possible to confirm, but fairly easy to infer.

    This is not abuse.

And personally, when the Boon is on the other side of the Map, I dont really have a problem with it as Killer. Because at least the Survivor has to spend a lot of time getting there. Would be different if it is in the middle of the Map on another Floor.

However, Perks or Perk Combinations are not abused. Like, nobody said that Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is abusing something, despite this combo being quite oppressive.

Same if you look for Grab-Builds with old Prayer Beads (for Gens and Totems). Strong. But no abuse at all.

  • @Sheridan_LT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041078#Comment_3041078

Running Haunted Grounds, Undying, Pentimento and Ruin isn't "abusing anything" either. You're not in position of authority here, you're not one of the developers dude. I don't care if you say no because you can't see the Killer side of things and you abuse a broken perk with no downsides.

Nobody ever said that running those Perks is "abusing" anything. Funny enough, everytime a Killer Main does not like something they say that the Survivors are "abusing" stuff.

I have never run Circle of Healing. I dont really like Boons, so I dont run them.

And well, I have probably more hours on Killer alone than you in DBD overall...

    To your idea - no.

Oh. My. GODS. Legion has been bullied and beaten ever since they came out, and they have never actually been an amazing killer. With the perk changes they are finally getting some indirect buffs that make them stronger, and people are freaking out about it? About LEGION? Let the poor little teenagers shine for once, everyone should get their day in the sun.

They are not stronger. They just prolong the game even more. And longer game means more ressources gone so that even a weakish Killer like Legion has it easier to get Downs.

    @Topic:

Yeah, really concerned about this. Legion stacking 4 Slowdown-Perks (including Thana) + increased Mending Time will really become annoying. And I dont see people actually playing this out if Gens take 110 seconds to complete with Thana alone + more Slowdown on top. Legion-games are already pretty miserable and boring (most of the time you dont even get to be chased because you just get stabbed and they run off).

When the changes go live I will probably go for a super-slowdown Build, just to see how it is like. I expect quite a lot of suicides and DCs.

  • Yeah, it is not really a Meta Shake Up. The Meta is the same, just different Perks are used. The reasons why those Perks are used are also the same.

E.g. there is 0 point in buffing Slowdown-Perks if you want to remove Slowdown-Perks from the Meta. Then people will just use other Slowdown-Perks.

Same with "Anti-Tunnel" (even if we know that there is no real Anti-Tunnel Perk in the game)... Players used DS. It got nerfed, OTR was buffed. Now they will use OTR. But the reason why they used it (tunneling is way too strong) did not change.

Overall, it is not really a Meta Shake Up at all. Especially because some Perks really got overnerfed (Iron Will, Spine Chill, DS, Ruin, PGTW) just to remove them from the Loadouts.

  • They nerfed it that hard to remove it from the Meta. This happened to a few Perks (Ruin, PGTW, Iron Will, DS, Spine Chill).

In the end, the Killer-Meta will be 4 Slowdown-Perks, just different. They did not change anything with their "big" Update, just different Perks are used.

IMO the Nerf to disable it when a Survivor is dead would have been enough. It would still be strong, but a little less oppressive because an early 3v1 under Ruin would not be that miserable. Reducing the Regression to 100% killed the Perk completely.

  • @Remedicist said:

Old moris just were not fun and were boring. I am a fan of the finisher mori, however, as we will get to see moris more often at least

The finisher Mori is the best solution to see the Mori Animations without it being imbalanced IMO.

Because first Hook-Moris were just way too overpowered and then I personally did not care about the animation at all, since my game was over very quickly due to the Mori.

    @Topic:

Yeah, because there cannot be any "Gen-Rushing" if you can get out a Survivor super-early because of the OP old Mori..

  • PTB-testing is pointless in general. Because there is no Matchmaking and most dont really play seriously.

But this PTB was something special. I played exactly 3 games and then I went back to live:

First game against a Blight. One Survivor DCs early, Blight facecamps me (3v1 with 4 Gens). The other two DC as well, I suicide on Hook. Blight in Postgame Chat: "Why do you leave?"...

Second game against a Legion, someone DCs a few seconds into the game (apparently there was also some error on the PTB, so maybe not even a Ragequit).

Third game against a Nurse who wanted to slug all 4 Survivors. In a PTB where you might want to try out the new Off the Record.

So. Yeah. This time it was special for whatever reason.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3038589#Comment_3038589

Well, what is the info it gives? None, other than that the person with the add-on wanted everyone else to see or do something at the marker location.

They want to annoy me at the marker location with the sound, clearly.

    @Topic:

This is a classic one. You are not the first to ask and you will not be the last.

  • I could probably show you 10 Channels which are the complete opposite without thinking too much. But since this would be naming&shaming, I will not do that.

On both sides some people are hot garbage when it comes to their behavior.

  • The grind reduction is good. Not a fan of the 50k BP for prestiging, but eh.

    What my problems are:

After prestiging the Bloodwebs are super bad. It will take some time until you get good Bloodwebs again. With a Level 50 Bloodweb you get at least some value for the 60k BP it takes to buy it. 60k BP will bring you to Level 8 or something like that with fresh Bloodwebs, and you will not get anything.

And, I dislike how the Prestige Level was calculated. I am fine with Perk Tiers counting for that, but why ONLY Perk Tiers? Why not Items, Add Ons and Offerings as well? Like, my Yoichi will have the same Level like my Nea. And I main Nea and have hundreds of Items and Offerings (almost 900 Map-Offerings alone, which cost me 4,5 Million BP) on her, while Yoichi has the stuff I got when getting all Perks on him.

  • IMO the Exhaustion-Part is fine. Iron Will is a strong Perk and I think a trade-off is ok. Want to use an Exhaustion Perk? Then you have a weaker Iron Will. Want to be stealthy? Well, then you cannot use an Exhaustion Perk.

The only problem with that is that the Exhaustion-Perks would be weighted differently. You will never have Iron Will when using Sprint Burst, but you will have it a decent amount of time when using Dead Hard for example.

The reduction to 75% is what kills the Perk. A semi-decent Headset is enough to hear the Survivor. I tested it on the PTB, a Blight was able to hear me despite crouching.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039052#Comment_3039052

Have you actually tried playing killers ever even?

Game is intentionally trying to make hearing harder by adding chase musics, if you actually think even 90% is useless you are either editing sounds or playing with extreme volume.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039047#Comment_3039047

Just use it for hiding? because like, it's just not meant to be used in chases with exhaustion perks and that is good thing.

If you have chase music, you see the Survivor.

Iron Will mainly works while hiding (when the Killer is not in chase) or against Spirit (she also does not have chase music while phasing).

  • "Do you think that how the Nurse is designed currently is healthy for gameplay?"

    No, not at all.

"Do you think that how the Nurse is designed currently is adversely affecting perk balancing, map/loop design decisions and holding back weaker M1 killers or even killers in general from buffs/attention that would let them even come close to competing with the Nurse?"

No, not that much. Nurse is one factor, but the general difference in strength is the main reason. You have Killers like Nurse, Blight, Oni on one side of the Roster and then Clown or Trapper on the other side. DBD will never be fully balanced because Killers are that different in strength. Something which might lift up Clown to a B-Tier will be completely broken on Blight.

Same goes for Survivor Perks - DS with 5 second Stun? Hurts a Trapper. But a Nurse has a good laugh. DH against Blight? Fair thing. DH against Clown? Uff.

"And why should I be playing any other killer then Nurse due to the way she is so differently designed to other killers?"

If you want to win the most games, you have to play Nurse. She is the strongest Killer. No Killer comes really close to her. If you dont want the maximum number of wins, you can use another strong Killer which is easier to learn.

In reality, all Killers can win against the vast majority of Survivors. You will also get a good amount of 4Ks in a Clown or Trapper. It will be harder than Nurse, but you can manage it. Obviously, the stronger the team, the less Killers can win. But the majority of players will not encounter teams which can only be beaten by Nurse in a somewhat regular basis.

  • @Emeal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3038912#Comment_3038912

Look mate, that 'nerfed for no particular reasons' narrative is so obviously false when you examine/explore how it can be abused.

The Head On / DS combo is a prime example of that.

First of all, nothing is "abused" there. I know that players like to use "abused" for "things I dont like", but you dont abuse any Perks.

Second, the Head On/DS-Combo was probably the least problematic thing when it comes to DS.

Third, DS just got nerfed to be out of the Meta. Thats it. Some Perks just got hit extra hard to remove them from the Meta-Builds. (e.g. DS, Spine Chill, Iron Will, PGTW, Ruin)

  • So, for the majority - the same 4 Slowdown-Perks on every Killer.

Glad that the Meta got shaken up so much.

  • Yes, this would be great. In general I would like to switch up the Terror Radius and Chase Music between "standard" and "unique":

But at the very least I would like to toggle the TR and Chase Music to the original for Billy and Doctor, who got new TR when they got reworked.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3038215#Comment_3038215

I can only say that I encountered it in a normal game during the PTB. No one was throwing, no one was doing anything special and then, during the endgame there was this Meg that I hit 3 or 4 times and then she run away and I was so confused.

I mean, I would not disagree that this can also happen in regular gameplay. However, what I have seen so far was staged - a Content Creator getting 3 MoM-Stacks, getting unhooked and then letting himself hit by the Killer.

And I also think, if in regular games a team goes to this length to tank a few Hits AND still manages to get 5 Gens done, they would have gotten the 5 Gens anyway. So it does not really change the outcome for the Killer, they would have lost if the team would have been super-efficient and just doing Gens anyway.

(But I know that you cannot say this in this forum, every Survivor is bad and they are all only carried by Perks)

I mean tbf... they are literally running in a straight line down a hallway. The video hardly shows anything practical to do with new DS.

Dont worry, it is not much different in actual games. Back in the day when DS got the Unhook-Requirement, it was also at 3 seconds (and countered by Enduring). Even without Enduring you did not get much distance.

And even with 5 seconds, the strongest Killers just laugh about it.

Surely if it was unintended there would've been some response by now saying otherwise.

Rule of thumb here is - if it is not in the Patchnotes, it is 99,99% a Bug. Especially since the PTB-Patchnotes state the Shard-costs for the specific Perk Tiers and they are all way below 15k.

  • Claiming that staged 4-5 Health States will be a common occurrence in regular gameplay is BS. 100%.

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

So you do agree the 4-5 health states is BS but i'm a bad killer for stating it? That's all i've been doing. But okay lol.

No, stating that this will be a common occurrence in the game is nonsense. Ever played with MoM? You know that you wont get the Stacks for free?

Only because some big Streamers show 4-5 Healthstates in staged scenarios does not mean that this will be the case in actual live games. Especially because said streamer has a history with stuff like that.

  • Have you seen any evidence that it is intended? No? Then assume it is a Bug.

  • One Thread wasnt enough?

    @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

"Lets buff the hell out of survivors and buff killers a little bit too" This is the meta change in a nutshell

Now you have to go through 4-5 health states to down a survivor. Survivors hooked during endgame literally get a free escape when unhooked. A survivor meta perk made basekit. The second chance perks were SLIGHTLY nerfed (some are even better now), but they gave survivors new second chance perks in return.

And what do killers get in return? Literally negligible 0.2% this and 0.2% that, kicking gens takes off a whole 2 secs worth of progress! Killer meta perks destroyed (unlike survivor meta perks). The only noticeable buff to killer is the Overcharge+Call Of Brine combo, but that'll soon be nerfed too, as it is "unfun" for survivors.

The only right thing Behavior is doing is looking forward to introducing bots, they're gonna need bot killers real soon.

I mean, this 4-5 Health State-Stuff is still BS...

From what you post you just seem to be really bad at playing Killer.

Or, can they actually fix hit validation so that the person with the best ping doesn't get penalized? That's asking too much, right?

This will probably not be possible.

There are people playing without any possibility to have a Server nearby. So Hit Validation needs to be quite generous, because otherwise those players would never get any hits. (Which makes Hit Validation pointless if you are unable to provide Servers to everyone)

So showing the Ping in the Lobby is the best solution.
