Answering a few questions and maybe revealing a few more surprises from what I've gathered.

New Killer and Survivor:

Plot twist, as you can see, Leia is the killer and Jabba is the survivor.
How would Jabba fit in a locker?
-
I think this probably rules out Terminator. Fingers crossed for Mrs Trunchbull. I heard she likes wielding ball and chains as well as many weapons. In fact it's her practice of the ball and chain which helped her win the Olympics in Shotput back in 53'.
-
I read this book, it could still be Skeletor.
Don't rule him out.
-
I think it's the hard reality that when you think you can be mean to killer, the killer can be mean to you. In the past Survivors would likely DC but now they have to toughen up which you don't like. I say it's just karma which won't last too much longer.
-
Ball and chain prisoner killer who can launch his ball at walls this breaking them...is my guess.
-
Ball and chain prisoner killer who used his weapon to launch and destroy walls and stuff.
-
The timing between the chain pulls suggest that for each stride being made every second the chain is pulled with the killer. A pause then followed by what I think is the killer launching the ball at a Survivor.
I think it's prison themed. A ball and chain killer.
Maybe the ball and chain can be used to destroy breakable surfaces .
-
You gave the Survivors a 3+ minute head start. It says more about the Survivors than the gen times. Had they been working on them they would be down to 1 or 2 left at least.
-
When it comes to skins being lore friendly. I think literally 1% of people care about lore so much that they want everything to fit perfectly and nothing different to be added to the game. Lore in my opinion holds back creativity and innovation.
-
@HellDescent said:
He wouldn't fit in the lore
With that logic you'll just get Man with knife, woman with knife, old lady with knife, baby with knife as your choices for killer. Demogorgan "didn't fit" either but they got him to fit perfectly in the game.

Funny Combo.
Bubba can use hag traps and can teleport while charging his chainsaw.

In principle, developers can make him the next Killer, because they already have rights to him (from DG) and he is humanoid in appearance.
The licence depends on whether there was clarification that The model would be used for a behaviour product or specifically deathgarden.
Agreements tend to be very specific so I doubt that the same license agreement would cover a new chapter however I don't see why they wouldn't give permission and a new agreement to dbd for the terminator and maybe a few extras for going through with the deathgarden content which might be seen as a positive use of the license even though it flopped.
-
Glowstick.
Drops a glowstick just Infront of your current position.
Any Survivors within a 8m radius of the glowstick is revealed to all other survivors.
Duration 1min (effect lasts +15 seconds)
-
If he can sneakily break down walls I'm expecting a 42m terror radius to completely nullify it.

Get a part time job.
God internet can go for up to $50 a month depending on your area.
That's easily affordable in just 20 hours or work per week. (Plus you'll have money for yourself).
Actually it really depends on the area you live in which determines how good the internet is
A number of years ago it was impossible to get good internet where I lived (just off from a big city) wholey because of the wires/cables and modern stuff wasn't in place.
If the infrastructure isn't in place for reliable internet then it's impossible to play without problems unless you move home or something. It's a frustrating issue many people have and money can't really solve.
Getting a job and buying good internet doesn't solve anything especially if as this person says, he already has a job which pays for the internet he receives.
I think the best thing to do is complain to your internet supplier about how unreliable and unstable your connection is. Mention that you signed up for functional internet yet it sometimes ends up being unusable.
It might take them a while to fix the issue due to lots of people having the same issue but it's worth a try.
-
If you're encountering problems during a match then the DC penalty doesn't change anything other than the fact that you'll probably want to play less often.
You would still get stuck in certain places in certain conditions and if it does just let the game run it's course and report the issue so it can be fixed.
If you were getting stuck on certain objects raise the issue and the map would be temporarily disabled until it's fixed, just like how badham preschool was.

Adding refueling gen was great suggestion. It will prevent gen-rushing under 5 mins, add fun objective and prolong games. Its not so fun wait longer in queue then game itself.
Even if it was another objective to flip the 3 power switches once gens are repaired to power the gens, that would be at least something.
I don't get why gens are powered once they're fully repaired. Surely if you're repairing something the power would be switched off otherwise it'll be really dangerous jabbing at it for upto a minute.

Because it will be no comfortable and too "hard" for BHVRs precious survivors.
The only time core gameplay was touched was for the endgame collapse. A welcome change from both roles.

They are lazy.
It can't just be laziness. I think it's more down to instruction to keep adding a chunk of new stuff every chapter. In reality the base game is extremely thin and it shows with the match times going by so fast.

The "truth" is, the game is popular & making money... so why fix something that isn't broken? If the game stops making money, they'll look to change things up. Think about that the next time you're looking at cosmetics.
The only paid cosmetics I've bought in the last half a year is the elf Dwight. I refuse to buy the pass and this could have been avoided if the changes we've been asking for, for years were respected.

There is a second objective, it’s called cleanse totems. Apparently that is too hard because you have many survivors complaining about NoEd. They’re even asking for a totem counter because it’s difficult to count to 5, bring in a map, or use small game or detectives hunch.
Survivors would riot if they were forced to do anything more.
A lot of survivors who don't bother cleansing totems because if the killer doesn't have noed (very likely) then it has no consequence.
This is why something needs to be added into the gameplay.

The punishment on emblems for camping is really weird. I remember hardcamping the last guy I hooked a few weeks ago while a Nea was thinking about going in for the save. She was really close maybe 10m but because the game seems me to be camping and not defending my final hook it gave me a -27 penalty for proximity to hook.
Sometimes securing your kill is your objective and the game doesn't recognise it that way.

So this.. seriously every thread about noed only needs one answer: "Do bones"
And then they all complain and respond with: "B-b-but mah genrush!"
Both of these answers are sometimes irrelevant to the question being asked or the thought being provoked here.
I don't think discussing noed is getting anywhere. I think it will get nerfed bit by bit but I swear once someone mentions noed people think we want to listen to a full blown rant about something which wasn't asked.
-
I'm hoping it's some weird ghost thing which can float through walls. Like the nurse without the blinks. Where they can lock onto one Survivor at a time to attack them. The slashes look a tiny bit like Vs camera shutter and I think it would be fun for the survivors to have a camera which they can use to slow the ghost down while it's phasing through objects. Kinda like fatal frame or something.
I keep hearing pinhead crop up. If it's licenced it would explain the silence.
-
I used to think Scott was really survivor sided until I started listening to some of the ideas he has. I really like his Trail warmup suggestion and it's a fix so basic it's probably the easiest fix they could ever do to this game.
The only reason why people are saying it's a busted idea is because of the chase mechanic itself being wonky. This is a minor fault in what I think is a complete fix over the whole headstart survivors get Vs a killer that has to set up or just has low mobility.
-
I think Peanits is just a hacker, he picks trash red ranks and sucks them into his matches to make him look good.
-
As a console player I got no excitement from the last chapter. The Oni is still annoying to play Yui is just a skin and the new map is just miserable. That was a chapter I got nothing out of. It could have been an operation health as you out it and I wish it was.
-
I still think people are discussing whether noed deserves to be nerfed which is not what this thread was about.
This thread is about noed or any perk which has a lot of scrutiny and anger directed at, whether how much is too much of a nerf to noed In particular.
Some people think just removing the speed boost is too much others think removing the capability to instadown is enough. I personally want to come up with a solution which keeps noed instadown function as is if noed was to get nerfed.
A common nerf to noed is the totem counter being implemented with small game. I think QoL changes will eat away at noed making totems a lot easier to do, end game being less threatening and more counters towards noed being introduced.
I personally think Noed is fine but my opinion is nothing compared to the ones who scream at the top of their lungs who want the perk deleted.
-
I think a lot of you are completely missing my point.
I'm talking about if noed did get a nerf (which is very likely in my opinion) then what would be a nerf which you would find acceptable.
You can't pretend noed is untouchable because it is the one killer perk Survivors hate most.

In answer to the popular argument, "Just do totems!" ...
I agree to a great extent, however, it's not always so simple.
What do you do when the survivors are under a lot of pressure? There could be 3 survivors remaining. Then, 1 survivor gets hooked. What do you do? Join Dwight on the final generator, cleanse the dull totem next to the generator or run halfway across the map to save your teammate? You could argue that the killer in this example has earned the right to NOED, having played well. I have mixed feelings about this. But my point is: it's not always as simple as telling people to 'just cleanse totems'.
I agree that survivors should cleanse totems when they come across them. But again - what if you're under a lot of pressure? It's all about priorities.
What about those totems that are in obscure places - off the beaten track, so to speak? If you're under pressure to complete objectives by a comptetant killer - should you really go searching for totems in the corners of the map? Without a totem counter, you don't even know if such totems even exist.
Literally the only compromise I've seen in this thread asking for a compromise.
Instead of everyone getting defensive about noed ever getting changed, suggest what version of noed would be ideal for you.
If you say the current noed then you're just gonna be disappointed because that's how it works.

@AlsendDrake said:
Honestly, add a totem counter and then it's entirely the survivors fault, as there's no excuse of not knowing how many were down.
Adding a totem counter for survivors would be seen as a massive nerf to some people towards noed.
I think if you want something to remain in its current state people should explain why and not just say whether they agree or not.
For every person agreeing or disagreeing with my suggestion that a nerf is coming for noed there is another person thinking the exact opposite from your opinion. This is why people want it removed from the game completely.

The only reason survivors don't like NoEd is because they don't want to do anything else other than loop the killer into oblivion or repair gens as fast as possible.
Killer plays with a handicap for the entire match, they earn the bonus if the survivors are lazy. You want fast matches, killers want fast kills. You both win with NoEd.
You act as if playing survivor takes much skill. It doesn't, all you need is a good awareness of the pallets and windows around you and to be able to look at the killer while he's chasing you. Playing survivor is much easier and less stress filled than playing Killer.
I know. Survivor is easy mode which is exactly why I don't want noed to be nerfed or reworked in a way which completely renders it useless. Survivors are the vocal majority and they want noed removed from the game in some cases.

"But noeds function is to grant you with the potential to instadown once gens are done."
And that is one of the fundamental flaws in the perk that needs reworking. It is getting you 1 hit downs for doing nothing.
"You're basically creating your own perk, it's a rework suggestion which prolongs the game an insane amount for the sake of an ignored totem, the annoyance is why people want noed nerfed in the first place."
Exactly, which is why I'm calling it a rework, not a nerf. It prolongs the game in a current balance where games already go to fast. That sounds pretty good. It's also not an insane amount of time, it's 1 gen. You're getting more time than that from Pop throughout a game. It still preserves the perks main purpose which is to punish gen rushers as well.
The annoyance of cleansing totems is absolutely not why people want noed nerfed at all. Very few people mind doing totems.
The reason they find NOED annoying is because they are getting 1 shot when the killer did nothing to earn it. It feels cheap.
You literally just said Survivors are too lazy to do totems and now you say they're just annoyed about being instadowned cheaply. Survivors dislike noed for many reasons.
Killers feel shame for running noed and that literally says it all. If it needs a rework or a nerf then I think coming up with an alternative idea which gives the killer lethality once gens are done are the way to go.

"Noed keeps it's function but with a slight condition which is nothing like what a real nerf would look like."
I think this is trying to change what the definition of a nerf is. You're referring to a "real" nerf. This isn't a thing, it's just a nerf. The perk would do the same thing, you're just adding a cooldown on it.
If i put a cooldown on BBQ that would be a nerf, not a rework. Same scenario.
"I don't understand why you'd not want to compromise to silence those begging for it to be removed from the game entirely."
I never said I didn't want to compromise. I actually said the total opposite.
I said that the perk needs to be changed to reward the killer for being skillful, not free downs for the survivors being lazy.
Just throwing a cooldown on it doesn't really add skill to the perk and it stilll retains all the problems that make it unhealthy.
Not being literal, but speaking in relation to a general idea here...I'd like something such as if all the totems weren't cleansed when the last gen is powered, 3 random gens will reactivate. It's essentially making them do 1 extra gen if they don't do totems.
This essentially still allows this perk to retain its purpose of being "anti gen rush", but instead of giving him free kills for no skill, it gives him more time to make skillful plays.
But noeds function is to grant you with the potential to instadown once gens are done. You're basically creating your own perk, it's a rework suggestion which prolongs the game an insane amount for the sake of an ignored totem, the annoyance is why people want noed nerfed in the first place.

@Dreamnomad said:
I don't think NOED needs nerfed. Survivors just need to cleanse totems or pay the price. The very fact that NOED exists will always be in the back of survivors heads as they play. "Should I cleanse the dull totem? ... well there is NOED, guess better safe than sorry". That line of thought nudges survivors just a little bit away from generators and we all know generator completion speeds are a problem. NOED has to be strong. Or there is no incentive other than some bloodpoints to break dull totems.
As far the OP's suggestion for a 7 second cooldown, it seems a little weird. Like when does it go on cooldown? When all the generators are done there is a 7 second delay before it activate? After you hit a survivor? Basic attack? Killer power? What if the survivor was already injured? After all, I didn't really "use" it if I attack an injured survivor right? The idea is just weird and confusing to me. 7 seconds isn't very long though. I wouldn't lose my mind if they did do something like that, but again... I think it is completely unnecessary.
The moment gens are done you can instadown instantly, except you must wait 7 seconds to instadown your next survivor. You can basic attack in this time and will injure the hit Survivor. The 7 second cooldown is basically a temporary window where instadowns won't happen.
The risk will be exactly the same to survivors it's just putting a more strategic twist on the killer side of it.
Noed is one of the perks which will be looked at soon whether you like it or not. I want it to revolve around skill a little more and I think this would be a fair compromise which doesn't destroy the perk one bit.

"I could make the same point about any meta perk."
And so would I. I think this same thing about most of the current meta perks, but as you already stated in your original post, this isn't about them so we aren't bringing them up here.
"My use of the word nerf just means to make it something different to the current state"
However you want to phrase your wording it is still indeed a nerf.
"however I'm stressing the importance of the function of the perk still existing"
It's current function is bad and needs changing. What you're looking to change does nothing to address the problems with the perk.
The only reason Survivors dislike noed is because it feels cheap and it doesn't require any skill to activate it. My change would not change anything except for the fact that it would have slightly stricter conditions which make it's effects happen (cooldown for instadown)
I could dress it as a rework but I doubt a rework would result in instadowns still being a thing with noed. It has to see a nerf of some kind.
The nerf I'm proposing is basically a gamble for the killer to instadown wait for cooldown then instadown again OR instadown injure injure injure get instadown back.
It would still give Survivors the initial surprise and put them on their feet instead of the balance of play completely shifting to the killers favour in which noed is known for.
Noed keeps it's function but with a slight condition which is nothing like what a real nerf would look like. I don't understand why you'd not want to compromise to silence those begging for it to be removed from the game entirely.
Same goes for other perks which are meta.

@OrangeJack said:
I've already commented on this but let survivors know killer has NOED (Eg: all totems lit up) either instantly or after one gen has been done.
They do totems and it can be a decent anti-genrush perk as their attention is diverted from gens.
If they still don't do totems knowing the killer has NOED then they deserved to get punished in endgame.
But if the Survivors don't get the warning they'll know to ignore totems as they'll have no importance.
We should suggest ideas which are a compromise instead of pretending Noed is untouchable, because noed is a major source of frustration to Survivors and we all know which side speaks loudest in dbd. Just saying, I know noed will be useless if we don't come up with alternative ideas for it to work.
-
This isn't about whether you in particular want a perk to be nerfed, its whether you can see a perk at risk of a nerf and what you are ok with as a compromise.
I play a lot of killer and I still want to use noed post nerf. So I want the nerf or rework to be acceptable.
-
@Blueberry said:
While you say this isn't a nerf NOED thread, it is a nerf NOED thread.
NOED doesn't need changing because it's too strong or unfair, it's not.
It needs changes because it's unhealthy design that rewards you for survivors being lazy, not because you did anything skillful. This is why it doesn't need a "nerf". It simply needs to be reworked in a way to reward the killer for playing well.
I could make the same point about any meta perk.
Nerf borrowed time in a way which keeps it's function of unhooking survivors safely when it eventually happens.
My use of the word nerf just means to make it something different to the current state however I'm stressing the importance of the function of the perk still existing and not butchered into a useless perk like MoM.
-
@GHOSTfaceP3 You can't deny that people want it nerfed though. Chances are it will be eventually.

The only second chance perks you listed were rancor blood warden and bitter the rest of those perks don’t require you to make any mistakes which is what a second chance perk is you just listed perks that make the game go longer
Rancor and bloodwarden are perks which just punish survivor idiocy or cockyness.
-
The movie doesn't give the character justice imo. Why did our Willem Dafoe agree to this trash? I don't know if the movie just did a really bad job getting across the lore or there was no lore which could fit remotely with dbd in the first place.
All I know is that the Movie was a massive let down. I heard it got a sequel approved so I had high expectations.
-
@McLightning I can see what you mean yeesh.
-
20k or similar for killer getting at least 4 hooks
As Survivor, doing at least 1 gen, winning a couple of chases, a stun or two and being helpful to teammates when it comes to unhooking and healing. Smart Survivor decision equals winning.
-
What about a ghost that can just float through loops.
The HUD icons could just be the Survivors getting chased by the ghost.
Maybe the Survivors get a camera to flash the ghost to slow them.
Could be a handheld camera or an Interactive object on the map (like jigsaw boxes etc)
-
When they said David king was dead hard it didn't clarify if it was because he caught the eye of another man. Probably a hex totem.
-
I can't believe how bitter some people are being here. Maybe if he wants to lose he should just let the Survivors unhook eachother and then do gens. Like they wanted to do gens anyway.

@oke said:
As a rank 1 killer I have to say...
Facecamping actually getting celebrated shows how many whiny trash killers there are who don't know how to win by playing properly.
But it was the ultimate winning strategy. Plus the Survivors made it that way for still wanting to go for unhooked when they couldn't, they didn't do gens.
Survivors need to adapt instead of lecturing how killers play the game.
