  • Don't really know where the best place is where I can post my thoughts on Halloween the Game but from what I've seen so far it's another game competitor to dbd that I'm having a hard time thinking it'll be successful a few months after launch.

Dbd even with it's issues is head and shoulders above anything else and it just seems like it'll remain the case for a while 😅

I'm so confused in the copium and hopium of people who want new asymmetric games to do well solely because they bought them so it must deserve a chance when it's clearly a downgrade from F13😄

Omg I hope I'm wrong but credit to dbd Devs and the player base for being being determined to improve and vocal when something is obviously trash.

  • Instead of speeding hags movement speed up what if she was a little like medusa where if you look at her you get a run speed debuff and maybe it can fill a meter that freezes you in petrification (probably unable to be hit any more than injured but stuck in place)

  • You just reminded me that The Hag exists, might play her later and try and spook some with an insideous ninja hag build I used to run

  • I missed the play window for lights out by a few hours a few days ago and tried the 2v8 mode which just wasn't my thing.

I saw some people play a little bit of the lights out mode and something I really liked was the reduced information being handed to the killer, it creates a state where game sense can be more of a factor in decision making rather than reacting to information...which I really like.

I was going to run some kind of sneaky insideous Dracula build where I'm mostly in wolf form and I'm just appearing from around corners etc for scares rather than stamping on the survivors.

Oh and the dredge seemed cool in the darker environment, especially during nightfall. I've rarely played dredge but I was looking forward to a few matches on lights out. Probably won't touch dredge that much in the meantime but excited if this game mode comes out again whether or not it's unfair.

Also xeno spooky build would have been fun, they often surprise me when they just appear.

No I'm not complaining about tunneling in general, i tend to be understanding of the concept. The thing I have an issue with is the worst kind of tunneling. Standard tunneling is whatever, if you find a double hooked surv and a no hook surv on a gen, you have a choice and the double hooked surv is the tactical choice every time. I'm talking about hard repeatedly tunneling the same surv off hook to the exclusion of all others straight off the bat. Heck I'm not even that fussed about tunneling straight off hook if it's done mid-late game.

It's this situation. Killer gets their first hook after a realtively short chase, realises that surv is mid/weak at chase. Killer then proxy camps said hook, maybe they manage to force the surv to stage, then as soon as the surv is unhooked, they hit them off hook and commit to the exclusively chase them again down them quickly rinse repeat. You get one survivor dead at 4-5 gens left. That one survivor has no chance to play the game, and the rest of the team is screwed because the game is not supposed to be a 3v1. We've all had games like that.

There has to be a system where the game can recognise that the killer is focusing out one player to the exclusion of all others. In the specific situation where you have 2 hooks on the same player, 0 hooks on anyone else and they are chasing the 2 hooked player there should be some kind of game intervention. Something that stops this kind of play dead. Peehsps a system where the surv on taking the second hit straight off of hook gets teleported to thebopposite side of the map and insta hesled or just invincibility or invisibility that gets cancelled if the killer hooks another player or if a survivor struggles out (obvs I wouldn't want to see survs abusing a mechanic like this for free bodyblocks) this would give the tunneled surv an opportunity to get out of the killer's sight and have a chance to heal and actually try to counter play by going stealthy so they can still achieve something in the match.

Normally it's fairly rare but I've seen an uptick in this kind of play from killers over the last couple of weeks, probably killers getting tilted by black banquet, and an awful lot of jasons too. I'm sure some people will simply call skill issue over this, but this type of tunneling is immensely easy for killers to do and very difficult for all but the best survivor teams to effectively prevent. By the time you realise how hard killer is committing to this it's usually too late to simply genrush. And it literally tanks the game, one surv gets next to no bp and is dead within minutes of the game starting. And the rest of the team is screwed unless there is a wild skill gap between killer and the 3 remaining survivors and they just so happened to demonise the 1 weak surv in a group.

Like it or not hard tunneling is a valid strategy, it just is and even if it wasn't part of the game those who would hard tunnel would just find something just as annoying to do😅

I'm not the best in chase but you can't go down if you don't get hit and so if you are frustrated at hard tunneling play differently and change the flow of the match so the pressure is in a good runner, that's how tunneling is punished not through the Devs jumping in to find a fix etc.

    Just my thoughts.

  • Omg the unbreakable pallets...no wonder I stopped playing day 1 event day🤣🤣🤣 completely forgot about that until you triggered my PTSD.

*Meant to reply to for the entity

  • @cogsturning said:

I know I've been in the vocal minority championing the event but it did several things that were good for the game, things that people have been asking for:

    It changed the gameplay loop.

I have a lot of killer matches where survivors just sit on gens with Stake Out and Hyperfocus then pre-run when they see me coming. It's not exactly thrilling. This event had survivors in my face all match, pretty much every match. I had one match with probably the most M1s I've ever landed in one go. Some people don't like those aggressive plays, and it took me a couple days to stop being fustrated and adjust my own gameplay to it, but I realized I really like how much more interactive this was. The only variant that was anti-interactive was the portal one.

It gave survivors the secondary objective players keep asking for, and one they actually wanted to interact with.

Other events often have little encouragement to interact with the event elements aside from Quests. The Void during Halloween can be a death trap and the crystals often aren't worth the trouble. The haunts aren't amazing either. The winter event has some fun snowball fights but is otherwise fairly bland. Chaos Shuffle just does what it does. There's not really any choices to be made there, especially with many people not being living dbd encyclopedias and not knowing what their randomly assigned perks even do. But the banquet actually had survivors engaging with its elements more than I've ever seen, which shows that if the elements feel valuable or interesting enough, players will use them.

And it's something people keep asking for, yet many didn't like it. A secondary objective shouldn't necessarily be passive and boring, with survivors just gathering generator parts or something similar. A rewarding and interesting element allows survivors to want to do it, instead of feeling obligated. And these little buffs from morsels were not hard to play around once killers learned them, so using them right could be game changing, and using them wrong could get them killed.

It got people to play different killers.

The problem with this part is people were choosing killers who cheesed well with the poison. But the idea is good. If an event can make low and mid tier killers—or even just less popular strong ones—more played, that's a good thing. I haven't played anyone but my main for months now but I didn't like how he was in the event so I went back to a couple killers I hadn't played in awhile. It forced me to shake it up, in a good way.

    How it could change:

My only real complaint is that posion is all killers got. Poison was obviously very strong but not very interesting. If I were to change it, I'd add something else for chase and have the poison be used only on objects, making it more of a randomized surprise or strategic trap-like element instead of an I-win-this-chase button. I'd also like the global effect (the table setting) to be a little harder to achieve, or to have a cooldown. Most of us who've been playing awhile have gone against cheaters who remote heal teammates. The constant table heals in chase feel like that and that's not really what anyone wants to be reminded of. Such a powerful effect could use some toning down, and maybe a downside. Maybe injuring the person who puts down the last plate and making them temporarily broken, like a mini invocation, or making them go down after a certain time period, like Conviction.

I played a few days before the event start and was excited to see what the event was but as soon as the event came it was painfully boring to me.

Since the Jason addition and initial queue times being super long, it's killed a lot of enjoyment which I had on returning to dbd.

I'm glad people enjoyed the black banquet event, it's far from my thing personally...it just seemed like added confusing and temporary mechanics that no-one really knows about so you end up looking for invisible survivors and thinking we're going crazy because we can hear them right by us😅

I took a break after returning to dbd after playing the event for the first day and I'm probably returning to play dbd some more soon, getting some Dracula matches which I really like playing as.

I think the dev comments on the load up screen before each match is really immersion breaking 🤣🙃 there's not even enough time to read the comments which makes me just think it would be way more helpful to have a brief explanation or image that's unmissable of how the event works instead of having to go out our way to read somewhere.

I remember in game events being something that were exciting to get into but for whatever reason it's been a reason why I've stayed away from dbd. I feel like I'm being harsh but at the same time maybe others feel the same.

Who said I was mad or upset? Just because I think someone did something moronic means I'm mad.? I can think someone did something self righteous without being mad or upset. I can call them on it without being mad or upset. I have never understood this idea that saying someone did something moronic or whatever means your mad. It is quite possible to realize someone is an idiot and remain calm even while calling it out. It's amusement. Nothing more. As a matter of fact if you notice I titled this post "Gotta Love" and not "Gotta hate". I did that because I found myself amused at this person and thought perhaps others would too.

Your reply is proof of my point, you're wasting your time and falling for a trap to be in complain mode even if you're taking an amused stance, it's still making you react instead of moving on.

My reply is a little late and hopefully you've put this behind you and not fallen for anyone else's negativity.

I’d also like to note that I am in fact a troll. I love messing with people. I love getting a rise out of people and I definitely get satisfaction out of knowing you’re salty. People in games and in life just don’t matter to me. Just a form of laughter. Nothing more, nothing less.

You sound more like a PoS than a troll doing things for "fun".

When you get bored of it you can start being yourself instead of pretending to be tough.

Hahahahahaha, this makes me laugh. This is the only reason I play. Why would I sit and do generators then run in circles to inevitably die when I could get my teammates killed and grab the hatch in a fraction of the time? It’s actually a lot of fun, you should try it. After a survivor gets hooked be there to unhook them right away and watch them get trained in to the ground to do it again. Run object of obsession and stay on the opposite side of the survivor as the killer. Throw pebbles at someone doing the generator. Hahahaha

Bad survivor confirmed, I bet you're not even close to a competent troll as you claim

I played a match a little bit ago and I was running Inner Strength. So at one point when injured I stepped into a locker to heal. It was the one and only time I got into a locker the whole game. Apparently there was another survivor nearby that I hadn't seen. But shortly after I stepped into the locker I did notice a survivor that fast vaulted the window next to me twice. Of course he drew the killers attention. The moment the killer showed up this survivor started pointing at the locker I was in. I just figured it was one of "those" survivors that play to sabotage the others rather than escape.

But no…… 5 minutes or more after that match ended I got a message from this person. It was a long dissertation. But the short version was they said they get sick and tired of survivors that just want to hide instead of play the game so when they see survivors hiding they intentionally get them killed.

What an arrogant, pompous, self-aggrandizing moron. Apparently not only did this person lack the requisite brain power to realize someone can go into a locker for reasons other than to hide, but they actually view themselves as some sort of DBD police that has the right to sabotage others because they are breaking DBD law.

I swear this game has way more than it's fair share of self righteous players.

BTW, if you are one of those type of people just know this. No one else thinks you a hero. No one is applauding you for your efforts. Everyone else sees you as sad and pathetic and they would prefer to never have to play with someone like you.

People can be mean but at the same time you're getting mad about something that has already been and gone.

Move on and be happy, making a post about a specific example is showing imo how you're quick to upset. Be tougher and stop carrying the other person's negativity.

They win when you get worked up over something they said and did. Don't fall for the trap.

I don't feel like he's over powered, but he's definitely got too much going on in his kit/add ons. I really don't see the point in hiding the survivors while in Omnipresent Evil mode when you can see their red mist and foot steps anyway. Sure you can crouch, but once people get over the fear of him, they'll just ignore it and keep moving. His addons giving oblivous, exhaustion, gen regression and such are just too much. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they give the survivor the status map wide (or at least a really huge radius), and that's just too oppressive. It's also really pointless making him 4.4 when he gets haste for so long coming out of Omnipresent Evil.

They gave him way too much and it feels like he doesn't have anything that punishes him outside of rearing the spike, but that's nothing. 1 minor draw back against a fully stacked kit seems unbalanced. Again, he's not over powered, but he needs to lose some things. It gets exhausting having to deal with everything from one killer…It's almost borderline old Skull Merchant.

I think Jason can body block in fog form, I had one where he wasn't even teleporting to a pallet but was still blocking it off which just seems dumb to me.

The more I play against Jason the longer I can be chased without too much difficulty. Something that's an issue is how easy it is for him to reload his spear, he could miss multiple spears in the same chase and just keep refilling without even a pick up animation from the looks of it.

The whole screaming thing just feels cheap too, there's no counterplay to a Jason teleporting quite a distance and still getting a scream

Doing sabbo build and wondering you get tunneled, sabbo creates problem for killer and tunnel or slug are only dolutions for it but you are alone so tunneling works on you better its simple not to mention you are always near him with that sabbo.

No I mean I was getting tunneled so I decided to go sabo build. Did have quite a lot of saves but people go down easily because they're still learning to play against the new killer

  • Dracula/Dark lord just seems simple to counter in a way which rewards game knowledge and not teetering into something unfair for either side.

  • @ElodieSimp said:

He's just too good for the majority of players to combat against him. He needs some sort of nerf, nothing too crazy. But his Omnipresent Evil needs a cooldown and limit, he shouldn't be able to just sit in it all the time waiting for the last two survivors to stop using Urban Evasion. He also needs some sort of punishment for missing a shot, right now he can keep firing even in mid chase seeing getting another jav is stupid easy.

Just not healthy for the game right now.

Personally I don't find Jason fun to play against, maybe it's because I keep getting him 20+ matches in a row which is understandable 😅

I just think the reality is that people who are good at killer are the first to buy and play as him and so it looks like Jason is probably a little bit more overpowered than he actually is.

I do think his ability to make survivors scream just punished survivors actively doing something too much and it encourages survivors to run urban evasion and hide in the corner which I guess stretches the match out and forces more of a patient play style.

I do think he's going to get nerfed hard and it'll be an overcorrection after maybe a few weeks, he's not one I want to buy because he's going to be very popular and honestly I'm getting bored of him already 🙃

I think I just like Dracula and some of the other unique killers too much for Jason to be interesting to me.

  • What's that Stephen king movie about an evil car 🚗 I would find drifting around loops with them the best thing ever.

Maybe vaults can be destroyed by driving through them as a killer power.

Can't wait to try out a slugging build and doing donuts on survivors

  • Just wondering, what is the code. I got myself some teachables to unlock 😁

  • I keep getting solo queue teammates that crouch all game and because I'm the only one to run around and do stuff I'm getting repeatedly tunneled and morid🙃

I'm literally just doing some sabotage builds just to get my own back🤣

  • I was just thinking about a Mortal Kombat chapter with Shoa Khan as killer and a lot of the other characters as skins for survivors.

Map could be traversing the different realms with portals everywhere. Maybe when someone is downed they can get sent to netherrealm where they have a minute to escape a dangerous chaotic environment with the killer not able to go there. Idk

I can see a lot of potential for fun add ons and Easter eggs with the names of things.

I had an idea of a perk called "get over here" for survivor" which basically fires a chain at the killer kinda like death slinger which pulls him towards the survivor, or maybe the survivor at the killer to take a hit😅 or maybe hit into deep wound/broken.

Probably would be mixing the toxic toxic builds up for something that maybe has a tactical value.

  • The way I look at it is, why do we push for regulation before we know how ai can be misused for example.

I would think you'll get more from letting ai run wild then honing it back with regulation afterwards just so you can better prepare for the reality of AI being prevalent everywhere.

There's no rush for regulation for a reason imo, people want it now which is understandable but at the same time we need to ensure there's a kinda public consensus on what regulation looks like rather than it being yet another thing determined by companies etc.

    People basically need to chill

  • @Blueberry said:

What's the issue with using ai?

It's an easy topic for those kinds of people who want to be seen as morally superior to talk down to everyone who even suggests ai has upsides to it.

If ai has grey areas, they have to treat it as the most divisive topic ever like everything else.

Ai is so much more than the whole "it'll take the jobs of artists" argument. People need to think bigger and stop getting triggered by AI lol

  • Honestly I don't care whether generative or whatever is used to in the product I'm playing as long as it's fun and engaging.

Caring or pretending to care by taking a position of outrage is exhausting and it means people aren't here for fun but to just complain.

It's one of those topics I'm choosing to not have an opinion of because everyone pretends they're a legal expert or a guru of what really belongs to whatever gets used in ai databases etc.

I believe sharing is caring, and I find the use of AI completely fine and those who don't learn to embrace AI will be left behind so there doesn't need to be so much outrage when everyone wants dbd or anything we enjoy to have longevity.

I think part of the disconnect comes from what you expect Alien to be.
Also, slight correction: Sadako is from The Ring, not The Grudge.

As for the "teleportation skin" argument, I don't really agree. Demo, Xeno and Springtrap all move from point A to point B, but the gameplay surrounding that movement is completely different.

Demo chooses where to place portals. Xeno uses an underground network to gather information and intercept survivors. Springtrap moves through the Backstage while remaining unseen. If we reduce all of them to "they go from A to B", then Sadako also falls into the same category.
The difference is what happens around the movement.

As for Alien, I think BHVR's design makes much more sense when viewed through the lens of Alien: Isolation rather than the movies alone.
Motion Trackers, Flamethrowers, vents, information gathering, survivors setting up defenses, sudden emergence... that's basically the entire chapter.

You can absolutely find it flat or not scary enough, that's subjective. But I don't think BHVR was trying to recreate the movie experience 1:1. I think they were trying to recreate Isolation within the constraints of Dead by Daylight.
Whether they succeeded is up for debate, but personally I think it's one of their most faithful adaptations.

I also think part of Xeno's reputation comes from the turrets.

They ask both sides to engage with a unique system.
Most killers in DbD are ultimately trying to hit you faster, better or from a different angle. Xenomorph asks survivors to set up defenses, manage resources and think about map control. That's a very different dynamic.

Interestingly, some of the most unique killers in the game tend to have lower pick rates despite being perfectly viable. Pinhead, Twins, Hag, Sadako and Dredge have all experienced this at various points.
I don't think that's because they're weak. I think it's because unique mechanics often demand more adaptation from both sides.
Whether someone enjoys that or not is another discussion entirely.

Putting it a different way, I just think that they played it safe with xeno, maybe because they didn't want to overwhelm those the chapter would bring with anything too elaborate.

From a mechanics sense it is about going from point a to point b for many killers and I'm not going to tell myself that each killer having it's very similar way of doing so pretty slowly is exciting. Some give you more freedom like demo but I'm not personally a fan of popping out the map and appearing elsewhere, it moves all pressure I have on the survivors for a guess at where they could be.

I'm maybe not explaining it the best but there's a reason I don't stick to playing these kinds of killers

I always mix the ring and the grudge up😅

  • I was doing insideous noed wolf Dracula with dominance as I was learning the killer😄. It was fun and apparently very effective.

The 1 sec activation time for insideous I feel can have some utility to it, or at least if the survivors are looking for 1 of 3 possible appearances for the killer, having a wolf appear from nowhere would be terrifying especially with noed🤣

I've mixing and matching perks, got dead man's switch from the shrine of secrets and looking for new perk combinations.

I'm loving Dracula so far, maybe my favourite killer which I didn't expect at all. The bats I keep using to just go through a window and to then emerge as Dracula blocking the window and forcing the survivor to use the pallet or into a dead space. Map knowledge is swinging the flow of matches, on maps I'm not familiar with i make bad calls but so many I'm nailing decisions and forcing survivors to use everything early.

I keep using bats at the beginning to find the survivors and I often get a down or a few hits in the first 20-30 seconds which I think is huge. Corruption intervention I'm thinking would be a decent perk to run on him too. I tend to have a good focus on keeping 3 gens close together defended well.

I'm still learning but so far he's solid imo even against good survivors

  • @CookieMaster said:

You will get to the point to see how unplayable the game has become on both sides :)

There are S tier killers that are totally unbeatable with thei own META kit.

Same for survivors, if you do not play an S tier killer, good survivors will totally destroy you without even being good at the game.

This game has become a mess.

I have noticed that survivors are pretty frequently getting flashlight saves when I pick a survivor up even when they're not in my line of sight. I'm pretty certain they got a flashlight saves as I was literally face inside a wall to avoid the line of sight.

It feels cheap and it makes me want to try out flashlights more considering blood points are so easy to get. One one side I could probably bring a decent flashlight in each match and on killer I'm bringing in moris because they're so easy to get which I don't know how I feel about that just yet

  • @tak47888 said:

It has gotten worse in my opinion. Killers have been robbed of their last bastions…Camping is not possible anymore, Tunneling is almost impossible without loosing a ton of time. The last thing they left us with is slugging. But with Survivors being able to medkit heal each other within 5 seconds to full, it is also only semi-viable.

Pallet density was heavily increased. Survivors got basekit perks shoved up their asses. So as long as you are staying away from the low tier Killers or playing Survivor, you should be fine.

The pallets do seem way more likely to be clustered together from what I've noticed, there's tiles where there's back to back pallets right by eachother and it makes me scratch my head and think they're so close together it's best to just get them out of play or ignore the area completely.

Pallet heavy parts of maps make it the smarter thing for me to just pull out of chases and focus on the objectives. Often I try to make the pallets be used up asap so the survivors are more defense less later.

  • @Heliosse said:

    Probably Springtrap.

Ironically, I actually love playing him, he's one of my three P100 (Xeno, M. Trap and Pyramid). This isn't a gameplay complaint.

My issue is that I feel the adaptation left a lot of FNaF's identity on the table.

What disappoints me the most is that some of the most interesting ideas were seemingly present at some point during development.

For example, the official website :

"When a Survivor enters a Security Door, they will enter a unique Security Room. They can then cycle through every Camera on the Map, open and close doors, and exit from whichever door they please."

None of that exists in the final version.

The idea of Survivors managing cameras and security systems while Springtrap hunted them felt incredibly thematic. It would have captured a lot of what makes FNaF unique.

Instead, the final power feels much more focused on teleports and chase interactions sprinkled with gimmicks.

I still love the killer, but I think the chapter could have leaned much harder into surveillance, paranoia, cameras and resource management.

Alien is the opposite for me.

A lot of people call Xenomorph disappointing, but I think it's one of the most faithful licensed adaptations in the game.

The tunnels are essentially the vents from Alien: Isolation.

Motion Trackers are straight from Isolation.

    Flamethrowers are straight from Isolation.

The Xenomorph moves unseen through the map, listens for prey, emerges suddenly and can be repelled by fire.

It's basically the Alien: Isolation gameplay loop translated into Dead by Daylight.

So while I understand why some people wanted Facehuggers, other mechanics, or simply do not like the gameplay, I never felt Xenomorph misunderstood the source material at all.

Springtrap is the one where I look at what could have been and feel a little disappointed.

The killers that have a kind of "skin" for the teleportation between points a to b come across as boring and unimaginative to me but at the same time it's what ideas are able to fit in the game so I can't call it disappointment because what our version of perfection is is often unachievable, which is a bummer but sometimes things by change line up like a masterstroke.

The teleportation skin thing, I mean when demo, xeno and animatronic do when they enter something to them come out across the map. It feels like the ideas that would have been more exciting had to shrink down to something new but the same.

Now with killers like the grudge killer, her video tape and TV teleportation just is something pulled off really well in comparison, it's unique, it fits perfectly and it doesn't come across as creative ideas were made to shrink what the current development can allow.

I was super glad to see Xeno in dbd, the map is bleh, the Ellen Ripley is bleh and the xeno seems more like one from colonial marines where it's not a menacing scheming threat imo granted I haven't played as them but I've watched maybe 20 matches of xeno played so my take might not be 100% accurate, it's the vibe I get and overall Alien is a very flat imo. Still grateful that they're in the game though, some welcome variety.

I do too, sadly ive been unmotivated as ive been getting genrushed to oblivion lately

Is it still realistic to fend off a decent team of survivors by getting a 3 gen defense going or is it just as tough as maybe 4 years ago?

My strategy I'm trying to go with is to focus on controlling the map more rather than the survivors, some typically weaker killers might excel with this change of strategy from my thinking 😅

So a trapper over hillbilly, wraith, maybe skull merchant too.

Aggressive defense over defensive aggression. Letting survivors come to you instead of trying to find them. I'm getting excited thinking about it 😁

You came back on the 10th anniversary as its this sunday them having a big party in Montreal.

You can connect your X-Box account with your Steam and get all the DLC's from it to your steam one. Cross-progression is possible now. If you did not know.

I'm going to give that a try, thanks 👍🏻

I have to say the Devs have definitely had a thorny relationship with the community probably always 😅 but they built a game that just hasn't died after years and years of passionate work. So underneath the complaining there's a very real layer of appreciation for how the game has been given legs for so long.

  • Maybe I've returned at the right time then,

Rather than waiting and getting frustrated at each tweak and update like I used to, I get to dive into everything for the first time once again.

I'm playing fairly well on return, still rusty but muscle memory plus having gone through the steep learning curve of years ago is so valuable.

I used to be an Xbox player and I had all dlcs upto nemesis but I'm playing on steam now and I don't want to re buy the dlcs I bought on my Xbox so I'm excited to play new things and be creative without breaking the bank.

Welcome back Skull Merchant is not reworked so she is still totally weak. Ghoul is the most opressive killer. What killers are fun depends on what kind of killers you want to play as there has been so many added after you left.

Most things that people complain. Pallet tensity change, Ghoul, generator fix speed, t-bagging, some of the recent PTB survivor perks, Jason that is coming to the game etc.

I keep looking at Dracula and seeing the possibility for a build that uses unsafe pallets as bait for survivors to get locked in a vault animation in a unsafe space, and then using the fireball attack whilst they're penned in.

From what I've seen of the killers since, many look fun but at the same time I don't know how viable they are. I'm closest to buying Dracula and playing him a lot I think.

I have no idea how prestiging works, whether the bloody cosmetics are the same as they were to unlock or whether unlocking teachable perks have been revamped, if you pardon the pun.

I was able to trail a few killers over the last few days, the unknown looks kinda fun but in terms of spooking people but not sure if they're particularly good against experienced survivors etc.

I'm coming back with the mindset to just have fun and not so much about winning so hopefully that mentality is a little more common these days, fingers crossed 😅

  • Also I've realised that I bottled up the general toxicity around the game and the way people communicate with eachother and it would influence me to constantly complain instead of giving credit when credits due.

At a quick glance, I think this might be a dynamic people still have themselves which isn't healthy to be in.

yeah you can discuss the game

you were not discussing the game

I was discussing the game. Criticizing the Devs stance on a topic is against the rules.

Saying that will probably get me another warning because that's are apparently how forums work now.

  • Pointing out the lunacy got me jailed. So much for these forums being a place to discuss the game.

Wait and see what happens when you label everything as offensive and remove it.

This is a prime example of people getting annoyed at cancel culture but unironically being the ones cancelling everything.

No-one is arguing this. You're literally making up imaginary scenarios and getting annoyed at them.

That is what you encourage when you rip parts of the game out because someone somewhere linked it to racism.

  • Blight is offensive to the drug addict community.

    NERF HIM AT ONCE

    Yours sincerely

    No it won't 😭

You're acting like any individual from a minority group could just say "X game mechanic is offensive" with no reasoning and get it removed.

How about we test that right now?

I, as a queer person, think The Clown is homophobic.

Is he going to be removed now? /s

The SF cosmetic is being removed for a very specific reason - because of it's resemblance to blackface. That doesn't extent to other cosmetics etc. I'm sure the game will be fine.

    That's how mob mentality works.

Can people stop with this ridiculous slipperly slope argument?

Just because you're SAYING these things will happen, doesn't mean they actually will. It's a fallacy. Stop it.

People will do that because they'll know that it works.

You could have one thing you want nerfed, say it's offensive and it'll get changed (probably to favour bad survivors)

  • I understand if you are all closet racists but when it comes to harmful stereotypes then I think you should put that to one side.

  • Despite what you all think.

Using stereotypes in games to portray a character is harmful.

There should be no if's or buts about it.

Show me, and I mean quote, where I said in my post that "nothing can be harmful if you choose to disagree with it."

I actually want a screenshot of the part of my comment that even implied this. The absolute level of reaching here is laughable.

You said that you're British and it doesn't offend you. It can not offend you and still be harmful btw.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

I'm literally British and working class and David is not a harmful British stereotype. Stop downplaying actual racism ffs.

So you're saying that nothing can be harmful if you choose to disagree with it.

    Stereotyping and discrimination is harmful.

  • I think most people's problem with spirit is the fact that they can't be bothered trying to learn how to counter her.

  • What is the point of the PTB If no changes to the killer are made?

  • I played as Trickster twice. One time I won easily, the other there was 2 escaped through hatch with key

Even when I winning I wanted to DC and I never do. He's so rough and he's slow.

Will probably never play Trickster again unless drastic changes are made especially to his power which is completely pointless to use.

  • People get obsessed with tiering killers up on lists and pulling the excuse "you have to expect killers other than top tier" to give reason for killers who shouldn't exist in the pathetic state they're in to exist.

I'll probably buy the new chapter but I will only play the killer about 2 or 3 times if drastic changes are not made.

  • He's called the Trickster because he tricked you into buying him.

Even if you think you can't even buy him yet, he's made it so you will end up doing so on release day.
