  • People get obsessed with placing killers at certain tier levels.

The main question is Why would I choose this killer over anyone else?

The answer to that is that I wouldn't if I wanted to kill/hook players.

I don't care too much about winning games are meant for fun. What will be frustrating is loading into a game takes longer than the amount of time you're able to play as the killer.

To me, in the current state I would say the Trickster is the worst killer but has the potential to be relatively ok with certain bug fixes and tweaks.

I would also add that this killer does have a lot going for it, just that these are not particularly important things.

Pyramid head imo is high tier if not god tier depending on the player and how he uses him. Also he can counter many meta perks. What y'all think is he op or trash?

    I completely agree.

As soon as he spawns on the map, the survivors might has well charge upto him and put themselves onto the hook.

  • Definitely some kind of magician cosmetic and him imitating another survivors clothes would be funny. As in default survivor skins but he wears them.

  • @Mysterynovus said:

The worst part of all this is that there's no confirmation on his sexuality in any form, and yet creeps decide to hurl homophobic rhetoric at his design because he's more femme than the other male Killers.

Not directing this criticism at you but it got old long ago how people would describe gay people or whoever as feminine. A lot of burley gays exist and people who think there's a certain set of criteria to pass as LGBT are just ignorant morons in my opinion.

  • @senki527 said:

Please community, stop the homophobic treatment against the new killer. I think the Killer has a cool design and an interesting power. We need more of LGBT characters in DBD, there are too few at the moment. But they made a good step in the right direction with new killer.

Are you assuming the new killers sexuality based on their appearance?

    Omg how dare you.

The killer is K-pop themed. I don't think K-pop is included in LGBT whatever it is.

  • @Satelit hmm, well I'll have to somewhat agree then.

  • @Satelit said:

A certain leak site baited everyone with the LGBT to get clicks on their crappy site

Speculation is exactly that. The leaksbydaylight website explored the possibility but never ever confirmed anything at all.

Putting trust in something that leaks were actually for is an error on the individual person's part.

It wasn't for clicks, it was just engaging with supporters.

CCP is known for their treatment towards others and how they handle their own citizens, so I think they're just straight up evil.

There are lots of evil people but talking about them in these forums probably isn't the best idea.

Not to mention that, from what I've heard, Chinese companies own quite a bit of BHVR iirc and China does not allow LGBT characters.

For example, Soldier 76 from Overwatch is LGBT here, but straight in China. BHVR was probably paying lip service to get your support.

Good point, I can just imagine Xi Jing ping (Chinese President/leader) saying "if you dare add a LGBT character then I'm uninstalling" sounds like a joke but cultural differences probably do play quite a large part.

Exactly why only the US and Europe branches of international businesses only take part in promoting equality and stuff like that.

    Two issues:

    1. It plans for failure. Perks that help win a match before gens are completed are better.
    2. Same issue as Rancor. It has a gens completed condition so if the killer does play well and closes hatch, it does not activate.

It doesn't plan for failure in my opinion. It just gives you another option other than running gen defence perks.

I recommend you re-read Orion’s post in a calm manner. You are accusing him of saying things there that he most definitely did not say at all.

I was referring to his attitude suggesting that straight white people run everything and everyone else deserves immediate better treatment to make up for it therefore a LGBT addition would be good.

I find it quite ignorant and condescending and I hope I've misread how he's acting.

Stop making this a "straight white men run everything" rant because that's exactly the type of attitude which I'm trying to discourage.

Your words, not mine. I didn't rant, insult, or denigrate cis white men. I pointed out that the vast majority of media features heterosexual cis white people (didn't even use the word "men"), which is just a statistical fact.

Completely different story here in the UK. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm not a fan of labels at all maybe I vented a little.

LGBT sexuality is shoehorned into just about everything these days and I can see why some people are getting bored with it.

Really? Because I can't, at least on an intellectual level.

On an emotional level, sure, having something you're not used to appear multiple times can be annoying.

On an intellectual level, the fact remains that the vast majority of media is about heterosexual cis white people (disproportionately so).

And "shoehorned"? Why is the inclusion of anything other than the default seen as "shoehorned"? Artistic freedom, and all that.

There’s no need to keep shouting it from the rooftops - the entire establishment has your back already, as does the majority of society.

Yes, "the establishment" (whatever that means) and the "majority of society" that keeps gay torture camps (commonly called "conversion therapy" to hide the fact that it's quite literally torture) up and running.

In summary, by all means add a character who just so happens to be LGBT, but don’t make it a blatant pandering to tired old identity politics as this actually has a negative effect on the LGBT community because it makes what would normally be an understanding and accepting person into someone who just don’t want to hear it anymore.

You can be understanding and accepting while also not wanting to hear about something. However, if all it takes for you to go from "understanding and accepting" to "hateful and opposing" is the presence of the thing you (supposedly) understand and accept, then you were never very understanding and accepting to begin with.

An example: I understand and accept that people like to eat popcorn in movie theaters. Personally, I can't even stand the smell, makes me nauseous. The fact that I see popcorn associated with movies doesn't make me hate movies, nor theaters, nor popcorn eaters.

"Gay torture camps" are a little off topic. Plus they're not the only kinda torture camps but that's besides the point.

Stop making this a "straight white men run everything" rant because that's exactly the type of attitude which I'm trying to discourage. In many places straight white men have been run out in place of minorities. Poor white working class males are the least likely to pass at university and they are too often taken advantage of because they somehow have to pay reparations for their ancestors slavery crimes and whatever. Many white working class families used to be slaves and it was common for them to work in workhouses back in the day. You don't have the full picture so I'd appreciate it if you didn't put "cis white men" in a bubble and talk smack about them.

I don't like the framing you have of "straight white people are entitled so let's give everyone else something to make up for it". I think that is an outdated way of seeing things.

Saying that the game has different departments focussing on different areas to me is not a valid excuse for certain things to be neglected and some things to be ahead of schedule.

It's not an excuse, it's an explanation.

It's like playing Dark Souls for the first time but the department in charge of making the weapons is 2 months behind schedule so they're not in the game get. The product, the game itself needs to function in a healthy way as a priority.

Yes, the game needs to work. However, it's not the people writing lore who are going to do that.

There are people who are already fanning the flames

    Yes, I've seen the trolls.

and to me it seems like as long as you agree with a person's opinion you'd turn a blind eye to the harassment, intimidation and outright hate they direct at random people for simply questioning their opinion.

Please, point out those comments. I haven't read every single comment from every single user on the subject. Also, don't assume things about me. It never ends well.

As you said, we won't get the full picture until this is released. Watch the chapter not have a LGBT person at all now.

I wouldn't care either way. If the character was bisexual instead of gay, lesbian, trans, or nonbinary, and wasn't a bisexual stereotype (promiscuous, unfaithful, and so on), I might give a #########, because that's not something I usually see. However, I'd still judge the character based on the perks, because that's what matters to me in the end.

I'm mainly talking about people who identify themselves as LGBT on social media a lot of them especially low profile content creators keep bashing "cis white straight men" and harassing anyone who calls them out.

If these people are indirectly encouraged to do so, it's just gonna spiral badly.

I've literally seen threads where full grown adults are attacking young teens for saying the most innocent of questions.

It's just frustrating seeing outright bullies using their identity as LGBT to attack strangers.

It goes both ways of course, it's just that when you mentioned trolls I feel like you only meant the ones who just disagree with you and don't let up.

Why should we care what people will do on Twitter? There will always be an outrage there, and in this case equally from the side that says the inclusion wasn’t done ‚right‘ and from the side that says the inclusion should never have happened for whatever reason.

why should we let the decisions made by the devs be influenced by those extremists at all? That would be actually forced, since we know they want to be inclusive.

You underestimate the damage twitter can do. It's also where dbd does a lot of its stuff with the community.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1982067#Comment_1982067

The people who work on character design and lore are not the same ones who work on the coding side of things. This is actually something that has been brought up before in relation to a lot of characters - that the devs should work on bug fixing first and content later. For once, not a double standard.

Now, for the record, I agree with this idea in principle, but in practice, it's unworkable. The people in charge of skins, lore, etc., can't just drop everything and stop working while the programmers fix the game. BHVR is probably not going to pay them if they're standing around doing nothing.

Pressure from the threat of outrage is something that shouldn't influence decision making but it may end up so.

There's always a threat of outrage for every decision. This is a moot point.

Another example is that if a trans character only had 9 cosmetic pieces compared to Megs 100+, people will say "dbd is transphobic and not inclusive". It's just how people are.

Yes, and then you can explain to those people that the trans character is new, whereas Meg has been here since release. If the people are reasonable, they will listen. If not, you can ignore them. For the record, though, "people" includes you.

Before anyone calls me homophobic (they will somehow) I would probably enjoy a trans character if they had a certain uniqueness or an interesting power.

Nobody is going to call you homophobic. Nobody has called you homophobic, either. So this just seems very out of place.

If it's something disappointing I will say so regardless of people thinking criticism is transphobic because that's what will happen.

You can't see the future, so let's focus on things that have happened, shall we?

Saying that the game has different departments focussing on different areas to me is not a valid excuse for certain things to be neglected and some things to be ahead of schedule.

all those gamehealth and Accessibility mode stuff is important and I am glad they are finally doing something in that direction.

but this has exactly nothing to do with adding LGBT chars or not. Characters would be added either way, we know that by now. And we also know they are doing it not because they were pressured but because they want to. That’s what they explicitly said multiple times.

and even if some people would claim they are transphobic because of cosmetics? That’s not an excuse to not be inclusive at all. There are valid reasons why certain characters have more cosmetics. And there are already complaint about distribution. (EDIT: no one called them racist just because Adam had so few cosmetics)

and please notice how I never once called you homophobic or said that your opinion is wrong or something. Please stop making those false claims. The people arguing for inclusion don’t do that all the time.

I'm not talking about you when it comes to insulting labels like "homophobe" it's mostly regarding social media like Twitter.

If outrage determines the Devs actions in any capacity then I'll will be like "I saw this coming, why didn't they anticipate this?"

Petty arguments come from every direction. People will make unfair complaints and take action on them. Just like review bombing on certain chapters for various reasons.

I haven't made any false claims like you put it. Wait until the chapter comes out and then see it kick off on twitter.

You pretending no-one has ever criticized the Devs is ridiculous.

Your words, not mine. What I've said, repeatedly, is that there was never this much complaining.

To me it seems to be your excuse for not wanting to accept someone else's opinion.

No, it's my justification for showing the double standard.

Literally every suggestion I make there's 5x more people who take issue with it. Don't act like they sit and wait for the LGBT topic to crop up before disagreeing with glee.

They do, actually. The topic came up when BHVR tweeted last year saying they were no longer going to exclude LGBT relationships, then popped up a few more times over the last year.

I'm not going to force you to respect other people's opinion but everything would work so much more smoothly if people would.

I already said I had far more respect for someone who applies their standards equally than someone who doesn't. This implies I do respect the latter's opinion, to some degree.

EDIT: I'm going to ask you, for a third time, to show me someone who has a concern that doesn't apply to other things that are already in the game, so I can discuss things with that person. I'm open to having a conversation, but you gotta meet me halfway. It's not unreasonable of me to want to avoid having the same discussion for the Nth time.

One thing that has been a problem for years which would be way more inclusive is the struggle button feature.

People who struggle to spam the struggle button still to this day can't enjoy the game as much as others. Even without a disability it's such a tedious action to do.

The colour blind settings took way too long and if they just shove a trans survivor in for example to me that would show a double standard that they actually don't respect the very thing which they claim to do so.

It's one thing having an "inclusive" game but however you look at it the games health must come first.

By this I mean if a trans survivor is added and all their perks are busted, to add 3 new skins to the store while ignoring the broken perks would be a shame.

Pressure from the threat of outrage is something that shouldn't influence decision making but it may end up so.

Another example is that if a trans character only had 9 cosmetic pieces compared to Megs 100+, people will say "dbd is transphobic and not inclusive". It's just how people are.

I'm not going to find someone else's comment about a particular thing because I can't speak on behalf of them plus I'm not digging through the forums.

Before anyone calls me homophobic (they will somehow) I would probably enjoy a trans character if they had a certain uniqueness or an interesting power.

If it's something disappointing I will say so regardless of people thinking criticism is transphobic because that's what will happen.

The difference is that people with concerns don't know if the new character will just have a page of lore or whether the Devs will make it really extravagant.

I think people are fearful of the latter primarily because of the fact that the Devs are kinda unpredictable and are prone to making bad decisions every now and then.

Again, why don't these concerns pop up any other time? Where were these concerns when it came to other extravagant skins or virtually any new character? Because, remember, any character might be extravagant and some skins are extravagant. Why is it only an issue if it's an LGBT character who might be extravagant?

I don't think being bitter towards people with a different opinion achieves anything so when you say you are unwilling to apologize for alienating people based on difference of opinion. It's just needlessly divisive.

I'm not alienating people based on a difference of opinion. I'm not even intentionally alienating them, I'm just sick and tired of pretending they're not showing a double standard. Also, again, you say that I'm being needlessly divisive when these people don't even apply their standards fairly and equally.

People have and will present petty arguments but there is and always will be people who are just wary of bad decision making. These people are often underappreciated and will be the difference between a full on twitter brawl or people moving onto the next thing to complain about.

It's not just petty, it's a blatant double standard. Seriously, where have all these wary people been over the last 4+ years? Why didn't they speak up against bunny onesies or the Nurse? Why are they only speaking up now, when it comes to LGBT characters?

Give me someone who has a concern that doesn't also apply to something else already in the game and I assure you, I will take that person's concern very seriously. Until then, I'm sticking to what I've said: there is no reason to oppose LGBT characters that isn't a double standard.

You pretending no-one has ever criticized the Devs is ridiculous.

To me it seems to be your excuse for not wanting to accept someone else's opinion.

Literally every suggestion I make there's 5x more people who take issue with it. Don't act like they sit and wait for the LGBT topic to crop up before disagreeing with glee.

Dismissing these as "not real concerns" just alienates the people who disagree though.

I explicitly defined "real" in the sense of "concerns that don't also apply to things that are already in the game".

I'm also not going to apologize for alienating people who only seem to have these deep concerns when LGBT characters come up and not for literally anything else. Why don't these people ever have to stop alienating LGBT people who want LGBT characters in the game? Why don't you ask them to apply their standards fairly and equally?

I have far more respect for the person who says "I don't want LGBT characters in the game because I feel they don't fit and was also against the bunny onesies" than the person who says "I don't want LGBT characters in the game because I feel they don't fit and didn't care about the bunny onesies". I disagree with both of them, but at least I know the first one applies their standards fairly and equally.

There's two sides of the fence and being on either side shouldn't make your view less valid.

No, of course not. However, I'm still waiting for someone to bring up concerns that don't apply to stuff that is already in the game and they didn't complain about.

A lot of fuss can be removed if it there was some reassurance that the Devs acknowledge the issues that crop up rather than painting people with concerns as homophobes.

    1. The devs did acknowledge the issues, multiple times.
    2. Nobody's calling anyone a homophobe, those are your words, not mine.

When you mention about legion having a very heterosexual themed bit of lore, to many it doesn't change anything. I didn't even know or care.

That's the point! So many people who don't even read the lore are now complaining about the possibility of LGBT lore that they will never read. I'm not going to pretend that the "concerns" from people like this are in any way valid, it's like me complaining about a newspaper using Comic Sans when I don't read newspapers to begin with.

It's too easy to be tribal and say "you're wrong because you're hateful and have trash opinions". People are already doing that due to the leaks.

Look at it from our perspective. Where were all these "very concerned individuals" in the last 4+ years? Why did nobody object to the Nurse's lore explicitly mentioning her husband? Why are they only showing up now, when it comes to LGBT representation? What's different?

The difference is that people with concerns don't know if the new character will just have a page of lore or whether the Devs will make it really extravagant.

I think people are fearful of the latter primarily because of the fact that the Devs are kinda unpredictable and are prone to making bad decisions every now and then.

When I reference the use of "homophobe" it's not because you are using this label it's because many other people have.

I don't think being bitter towards people with a different opinion achieves anything so when you say you are unwilling to apologize for alienating people based on difference of opinion. It's just needlessly divisive.

People have and will present petty arguments but there is and always will be people who are just wary of bad decision making. These people are often underappreciated and will be the difference between a full on twitter brawl or people moving onto the next thing to complain about.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1981797#Comment_1981797

I think the main thing that needs to be addressed is that if people don't like a LGBT character then instead of harassing people who disagree with you, instead understand the person's concerns because it will become something very divisive and overblown otherwise.

Their concerns are a double-standard. Their concerns only seem to pop up when it comes to LGBT characters. For example (I'm paraphrasing the arguments I've seen):

I just want them to do it right.

So does everyone, for everything. This has never been an issue big enough to prevent inclusion with literally any other content in DbD, so why is it an issue with LGBT characters?

I'm worried they might get it wrong.

Again, everyone has this concern, for everything. And, again, this has never been an argument that was used to stop, say, Myers getting into the game, so why is it an issue now?

If they get it wrong, it will piss off a lot of people.

Again, this happens with virtually everything. The creation of the game alone made a lot of people upset, yet I didn't see anyone saying this to stop it from being made.

I just don't feel like it fits in DbD/horror.

Neither do bunny onesies, yet here we are. I didn't see anyone making this much of a fuss over those, or Dwelf.

Sexuality has no place in DbD/horror.

Nurse has had a husband since she was released, which was years ago. Nobody complained about sexuality back then. Also, sexuality has been a theme in slasher films since forever.

    It's not important.

Some people felt Shape being added to the game wasn't important (me, for example). This is purely opinion-based and not even a real concern.

It feels forced because it's unnecessary.

Everything is "forced", if you think like this.

It's going to shove homosexuality down our throats.

Legion had an entire tome that's shoving heterosexuality down our throats. No complaints.

    It's just pandering.

So is the inclusion of licensed characters. That's literally the point of new (and existing) content, to pander to more people so they buy the game.

There are too many people asking for it.

Yes, and apparently it's a bad thing that the devs give players what they want. Oddly enough, this wasn't an issue when all those licensed chapters were requested and added to the game.

There are too many gay people in media already, in proportion to the population.

This can be applied to different groups; for example, white heterosexual men, who are ubiquitous in media. Also, like everything else, this isn't an issue when it comes to other groups being added to the game, just LGBT.

Please, show me someone with a real concern (meaning one that doesn't also apply to things that are already in the game) and I will gladly debate it with that person. Until then, know that we have taken the high road over and over again, heard all the concerns, and all we've found is that these concerns only pop up when it comes to LGBT characters.

Dismissing these as "not real concerns" just alienates the people who disagree though.

There's two sides of the fence and being on either side shouldn't make your view less valid. A lot of fuss can be removed if it there was some reassurance that the Devs acknowledge the issues that crop up rather than painting people with concerns as homophobes.

When you mention about legion having a very heterosexual themed bit of lore, to many it doesn't change anything. I didn't even know or care.

People who hold moral superiority over other people's opinions are not nice people. That's exactly why the tone of discussion needs to be sensible and people including content creators shouldn't talk down to people with concerns like what happens (without naming names)

It's too easy to be tribal and say "you're wrong because you're hateful and have trash opinions". People are already doing that due to the leaks.

  • the entire orchestra from the Dark Souls /Bloodborne games as a killer.

  • To me it is one of those topical subjects people seem to want to latch onto for attention.

I don't care about the lore at all but there are people who do. The difference is that the main thing that needs to function properly is the game running smoothly everything else can be as botched as possible.

I would say the game has put itself trapped in a bit of a corner. Get it right and everyone baring those who don't understand the emphasis on a made up characters sexuality (perfectly valid) will be happy.

Get it wrong, then it could get ugly. Outrage will come like a hungry pack of wolves and deal a blow to the game whether they did a good job or not .

We shouldn't pretend the playerbase and the people in the community are perfect, in fact many are thirsty for drama and don't underestimate people's desire to cause a ruckus.

I think the main thing that needs to be addressed is that if people don't like a LGBT character then instead of harassing people who disagree with you, instead understand the person's concerns because it will become something very divisive and overblown otherwise.

I'm holding back my opinion until whatever comes out of this upcoming chapter materialises.

One standard I live by is that you should always allow someone to offer their opinion even if it's something you disagree with.

Respect is very rare nowadays and those who are willing to listen to others are the ones who prevent this turning into different groups of people and opinions fighting over something which doesn't even matter.

There's a lot going on in the world and if you're getting worked up by this then I honestly think you're wasting your time doing something with no good outcome/return.

Do something new, learn a new skill or just think about the things which make you happy instead of worrying about things which you can't single handedly change.

  • St Patrick's - Leprechaun with evil stare and blood stains splattered across its green clothing.

A beer glass bubbling and slightly overflowing over the edges.

A four leaf clover fidget spinner (players will be like "oh no, is that a fidget spinner" but they'll appreciate the better charms more because of this)

Chinese New year- Ying and Yang the two black and white segments of the charm interchange with each other so at one time there is one black and one white segment showing.

Fortune Cookie, snaps when a survivor is hooked on that specific hook or if you are hooked for the first time as survivor. Filled with gold glitter and a small piece of paper.

Lunar moon, a coin shaped charm which luminaries from a distance. Goes from full moon to small crescent moon over time and back again.

Valentine's Day - a hanging plate of fancy chocolates, open and enticing for players to try hanging from hook (killer only, not interactable)

Creepy Cupid statue aiming bow, feet and hands soaked in blood. (Killer only)

'Love' potion, a fancy pink bottle of love potion, looks like purfume except it emits a small purple glow and it may or may not be poison.

  • Because it looks like a p**is with arms to some people...it kinda does actually. Probably very sensitive to boops but idk.

  • Clocktower, Alien or Terminator.

Playing as Sarah Connor from T2 feels so dbd and the terminator chasing you would be a refreshing addition to variety.

Before anyone says it doesn't fit like they say with every suggestion other than man with knife/axe. You must have been completely mind-blown about 10 times already with the additions that have already happened.

I will say that the Demogorgon skeletal rig they worked on to get the Demogorgon killer would serve as a good placeholder for a xenomorph killer, to me it's a matter of when rather than if. Plus an Alien TV series is coming out soon. A Xenomorph will definitely come in my opinion.

  • I've been saying this since Huntress. It's far easier to aim on pc than it is on console.

The main thing for me is the movement and camera dependency some recent killers have. I feel like having a reticle add on for ranged killers would be a quick fix, maybe that's coming in the Huntress add on relook. I can guarantee the drawback to a reticle for hatchets is going to be caused deep wounds or something.

  • For however much potential the twins have, it's ruined by the amount of bugs and slow down between controlling the two characters.

Pretty much everytime I use Victor by a pallet or window he either gets stuck in the ground or he is body blocked into place because Charlotte is right by him.

Bugs aside I think the twins need an extra something to get them to the high b tier level.

Personally I would like an irridescent offering which makes Charlotte auto chase and hit survivors while you are controlling Victor like she's taken over by a bot. It sounds a little op but remember the negative effects strong add one have, it'll be something like the recharge rate is super long or something.

  • This post is bias towards the Devs.

Probably, I didn't read anything but the title.

If I didn't DC at first look at the Huntress, be sure that I will when I notice your Iridescent Head. Sorry not sorry. Even with penalties.

Players like you deserve to be banned permanently if you're going to disconnect whenever you identity which killer it is you're playing against. As you said, sorry not sorry you deserve to pay for ruining other people's matches.

  • One which only a couple of people have mentioned is "PLAINJANE" which unequips what ever clothing you have set on Jane. Don't worry she returns to her default outfit.

  • I mean everytime they improve console performance it messes the game up some other way. I don't think the mega optimization patch will fix everything and some major issues with still persist after that.

  • A killer who specifically has a 3rd person camera and maybe a projectile like a spear would be a really nice change with no real benefit given to the killer role.

If you change huntress or death slinger to 3rd person then you'd get players peeking around corners already knowing the location of the survivor which is where it becomes too much on those killers. You could argue that it would be a much needed buff but it's not worth the hassle on existing killers.

Why does console killers play dirty they camp us PC players everytime we get hooked just because we can loop well and they suck at looping they will camp us everytime? Also they ignore the console survivors they just hunt down the PC players and if you watch after you die they farm the console survivors and let them escape.

Sounds to me like a certain PC player keeps getting shown up by console players.

If each platform was part of a swimming race, PC would consist of clear water, consoles would consist of water with shards of glass proving an annoyance to the player. The end outcome of being able to win or lose is still the same.

How dare console players be better than PC players.

Need I remind everyone about the devastating kill rate of hag on Xbox. You thought PC Nurse was bad, wait until you see Xbox Hag. I am half joking but it would be funny if it was just as problematic.

  • Consoles are a more casual platform so the more casual perks are used there.

You will rarely see a console player doing all sorts of calculations to figure out how to heal and save a few seconds. They just want to play the game not necessarily play the most optimally.

There are a few exceptions, if you disagree with my analysis you're probably one yourself.

And his features rule out him being Korean how?

Because I've never had issues understanding he was asian. From the name to the design and his story. Its not hard to grasp.

He doesnt need to be "every korean archetype" visually to be korean.

Like you said, if his story is korean (it is) and he visually looks korean (which, he looks more korean than white), wheres the problem? Or does he have to be blatantly stereotypically korean for you to accept it?

I didn't say his current features don't let the player know of Jake Parks background ethnicity and whatnot.

You complain saying that using Korean stereotypes are bad but then state that Jake looks Korean enough for people to understand that he's Korean.

I think you're seeing fault in someone wanting to see an original character get a new look.

  • @Carpemortum said:

...do all koreans look a specific certain way?

Like, does it need to be overly stereotyped for him to "be" korean?

    Foh with that.

I mean if his bio says that he's Korean and his character design is supposed to reflect some attributes of that then it isn't troublesome at all. Exactly like how Claudette is a black female in her appearance, if it stated that she was a 7ft tall skinny white guy with a mustache then you'd question why her appearance doesn't match her description.

I don't know why you attach the racial stereotype phrase to the original post.

  • If you start saying this and that are not horror so they don't belong you just end up with an empty canvas.

Dbd isn't really a horror game anymore anyway, I'd say it's more of an asymmetric survival game. The only thing horror based is the killers appearance and the intensity of the heartbeat.

  • Reading the title of the thread I was like Who?

I forgot his name but Yes Stephano would make a really good addition to this game. I've requested it myself and maybe he can join Ghostface in the camera club.

I think blinking past obstacles such as pallets into a better position to make an attack or to keep survivors on their feet would be a fun idea. Probably lots of options.

Actually I watched otz the second the PTB started and he was fair throughout his claims.

I've watched Otz for years and once people get to know him... he's a very sincere and honest person who portrays his views with hard evidence and conviction.

I like otz but man you sound so naive. Reminds me of my ex-GFs who thought I'd get a real sustaining job after meeting her since I'm such a genuine and nice guy.

You like Otz yet you're claiming he's pretending the changes are bad because that's what content creators do for views?

I find some of the changes terrible a few changes ok but I don't have any sinister motive for thinking so, I doubt anyone else does either.

No it's not, if he has no clue about billy then he's literally bandwagoning most likely for views as many streamers and youtubers will milk the ######### out of this.

Pyramid heads nerf on cages could be the answer to solve camping killers permanently when pyramid head camps a cage for more the 10 seconds the cage teleports away furthest away from the pyramid head and he can't see were they went that sounds like the perfect way to decentivize all killer from camping that should be applied base to all hooks and effect every killer in the game

I would agree with this only if Pyramid head could actually see the cage auras which he can't.

This information being taken away from him seriously hampers his ability to read the game.

Maybe I said it in a different thread but I did say somewhere that the time it takes for the chainsaw the cool down is harsh. The numbers there should be adjusted.

And again, I'm not failing to grasp what it was used for. I understand completely how it was used and am saying that it's a lot more fair now that it takes some resource management for him to cross the map and instadown people with no downside.

You say that but apart from the one criticism of the changes you seem to be 100% behind the rework.

  • @RakimSockem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1424845#Comment_1424845

That was exactly the point of my comment. He shouldn't be able to transverse the map, have an attack that deletes pallets, and still be able to just spam it as much as he wants. No other killer has that kind of power.

I also don't see where I discredited what you said. I just stated my opinion on how I believed the changes were fair. But I guess I reached rank 1 killer and got all the adepts except for 3 by having no gameplay sense as killer. We'll go with that

No, you discredited my criticism of the changes to Billy, if that was based on your opinion you still discredited mine in doing so.

What you fail to grasp about Billy is that pre Ptb his chainsaw was used to move around and down survivors. Now it must be used on one or another but extremely sparsely.

Ripping out the thing which makes Billy different in his own way will make him just as bad as the rest of the cast.

Bubba isn't a lost cause because he was pretty bad anyway but time and time again we keep seeing decent killers get butchered. In your eyes it's always deserved because they were strong anyway but you never acknowledge what lengths are just too far.

  • It comes from a place of privilege for The Hag to be able to teleport to two phantasm traps in quick succession.

  • @Science_Guy said:

I thought you guys were still boycotting the Ruin rework.

"You guys" implying that you are a survivor main. Why exactly do you not play killer?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1424767#Comment_1424767

I understand how disadvantageous they are and in the case of Billy, I believe that disadvantage is perfectly fair and justified. What other killer has the level of map transversal, an instadown attack, and is a pallet deleter? The answer is none. The closest you get is Oni with Blood Fury and he has to put in work to get that.

After he transverses the map in 3 seconds, there should be some time before he can use just instantly down you. And actually, moving across the map only uses roughly 40% of the heat meter? So technically he still can if he catches someone out of position. The only difference now is he can't spam it.

For Bubba, I think that complaint is legitimate. It should definitely be more visible.

You fail to see the outcome of Billy in PTB. The function of his chainsaw to "delete pallets" eats into his power and results in him getting further towards overheating from breaking the pallet alone. After he breaks the pallet he can't use his power unless he wants to lose it through overheat.

For you to discredit my criticism apart from the visibility of the charges on Bubba tells me that you have no or very little gameplay sense when playing killer.

  • @RakimSockem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1424729#Comment_1424729

    So honest question here:

What can't Billy do now in a chase that he could do before?

And what besides being a face camp god can't Bubba do now that he could do before?

Billy can't use his chainsaw multiple times to either move or down a survivor within quite a long length of time.

And bubba has to time every charge very precisely using the small icons on the bottom left of the screen. Basically you can't even look at what you're chasing if you want to use your power.

The fact that you're acting like this is no big deal is evident that you probably don't see how disadvantageous these changes are.

  • @handfulofrain said:

Yes, I know it sucks that they slapped a cooldown on Billy and tokens on Bubba.

Yes, I know it sucks that they changed the passive on Balanced Landing.

Yes, I know it sucks that they changed Pyramidhead in the latest update.

Yes, I know it sucks that they made maps smaller to help some killers out.

I promise that if you just keep playing the game like normal, you'll be fine. You'll relearn whatever it is they changed and everything will be fine.

Truthfully, I don't think I've ever been in a community with a bigger bunch of entitled, whining children. It's not the end of the world. In the end, remember that it's just a video game.

If people want the games they play to be fair I wouldn't say that's being entitled.

In fact I think the labelling of "entitled" opinions defeats the purpose of criticism from the PTB.

All I'm going to say is that if these changes go ahead I will hardly ever play Billy.

In terms of Bubba I feel like the changes has made him more complex in return for very little.

The add ons for these two killers are either terrible, strip away playstyle or just have no reason to exist.
