Make pyramid Head thicc again.

I think the new map is fine. I would add a couple more obstacles to hide behind on the long corridors but that's it. Maybe have pipes on the ceiling leading to the nearest stairs.
I just think people are whinging about having to get used with the new map which I find lazy.
I haven't noticed any of these bugs so I wonder if it's exclusively a PC issue. I have noticed a big improvement in sound on Xbox.
-
When I see a Lisa Garland In game I immediately think "you paid £15 for a skin, when I down you I will let you go only once as you are contributing towards a character I want being available as a legendary skin in the future" everytime, unless they're really good then I treat them equally.

Forum user: Ash Williams is obviously gay.
Me: You do realise he's a licensed character from an actual movie, he actually has intercourse with women all the time.
Forum user: No no no He's gay trust me.
Me: Welp... I guess he is then.

Devs - We're going to out every survivors sexuality.
Devs - All survivors are straight
Some of you that are excited, I'm sorry but I think this would be funny.
I think you have to be careful with this. I can see lot's of people here stereotyping which each sexuality survivors look like and it's not long until we see angry killers picking on Dwight's for example because he's not what the person playing killer wanted him to be.
If the Devs do come out with this then they should understand what problems may crop up. Dbd isn't exactly the most friendly community, although I would say it's probably a lot more tolerant that others.
If I was a dev I would just let each player interpret the survivors character for themselves. Leave little hints at possible truths but never confirm them. Rather than being "this Dwight guy you play, well btw he's the gay male survivor with glasses"
Imagine how heartbroken people would be if Dwight was straight. Letting things be a mystery is a good way to leave it imo.

u can hit survivors and get "unblocked" but u cant do the same as survivor.
You can not get caught to get unblocked by the killer.

"Body blocking is a valid playstyle" Survivor mains before Silent Hill release.

Enough is enough. We've been promised optimization for over a year. I ask all you console players of the fog to take a stand with me until they fix this game and make us up to par w PC. Are consoles are MORE then powerful enough to handle it. Don't buy the new chapter. Don't buy ANY DLC PERIOD, no matter how bad you want to. We NEED to take a stand, because it's the ONLY way there finally gonna care about us, and finally give us some much needed and well deserved TLC. If you want a change, this unfortunately is the only way. We make up a nice% of there income now. Time we got the respect we deserve. Thanks.
Too late I just bought it.
As an Xbox player you have to just accept consoles are not perfect. I have noticed big difference since dbds release in terms of performance and there's still a way to go.
Boycotting or protesting console optimization just means you'll be forcing yourself to take on a disgruntled stance and not be able to let yourself change your mind.
My biggest problem with console optimization was the loading times getting into matches. It used to take about 5 minutes to load into each match and now it takes about a minute.
Dbd has a small team of around 60 people as far as I know. If you want to see console optimization you have to support the game.
I do encourage you to raise your concerns but wanting to boycott buying the Silent Hill Chapter is counter productive.

I think putting politics into the game is a reallllllly bad idea.
Donating to good causes is well...good though. I think you have to keep games as games and not something portraying political messages which stem off into all sorts of arguments and division.
-
Can't believe this skin didn't win though.
-
It just feels like the winners were just easy/more capable to make into a cosmetic than other complicated ones like the Nea Viper snake cosmetic which had extraordinary detail and flair about it. I've only seen a handful of entries but the winning ones I'm not a fan of at all.
Having said that the winners deserve credit for sharing their creativity in a sea of close competition.

I think the legendary Skins will be about 720 - 1200 Auric cells and only purchasable in store.
-
I don't know if the movement is the same. That skin would work well on a killer mannequin or something. I could see it as a legion skin with really twitchy movement.

@Mooks said:
Question is if it will be gender-locked or will they also add new audiofiles (or generic male and female audiofiles for legendary skins only)
because Quentin to Nancy wouldn’t work if it was still Quentins voice!
Hopper and Joyce would be pretty cool additions (and would have honestly made more sense)
Other they said it would be a completely different tab in the cosmetic select screen. So no mix and matching.

@Taiga said:
I wonder if they have different voice actors.
Interesting question 🤔

I think with license chapters you need to have that expectation that the thing at the top of your list wasn't achievable. Heather is decent, yes she's another female survivor but it just passes on the importance of a male character until we get one.
I think it's a very good problem to have. I assume you're enjoying the look of the new chapter so far.

People are allowed to be disappointed. Let them get their feelings out so they can view the new content objectively. The perks suck btw.
Bashing a dlc chapter which isn't even out yet? Really?
We're in Silent Hill now and if you don't like it...well go play Terraria or something.
-
I know some people have probably never heard of Silent Hill and are probably disappointed of how far their ignorance for this truly iconic, cold hard horror classic reaches.
If you fall into that group of people, just take our word for it that this is a momentous and masterful license to be able to have in this game.
Konami, the license owners have been known to be really tight fisted at lending rights to whoever wants it and I think whoever was able to attain the license deserves HUGE credit. Without them this definitely wouldn't have been possible.
Everyone seemed to have overlooked this as a possible chapter because it was just accepted that it could never happen.
For those of you complaining just embrace what Silent Hill is and accept it is a perfect game to house his toblerone shaped metal head.
-
I don't know why but anti loop Mummy to me just makes me think of a shriek which is built up to stun the survivor to get a hit. A little like Freddy's snare but a little stronger and consistent. A Mummy sounds very unlikely but I would prefer it over every other discussed option apart from Alien.
-
A suitable nerf would be to make him plug his chainsaw to a 20m extension lead/cord which is plugged into the basement plug socket. His chainsaw should have no charge up time to compensate.
-
Short answer - Of course Alien could work.

I want Pennywise, Candyman or Pinhead. They are really cool and unique, alien is just too similar to demo and nothing special. Also cosmetics would be really limited for alien.
A Xenomorph unexpectedly has quite a lot of possible cosmetic options due to the vast amount of times they've appeared in so many movies in spanning decades. You'd be surprised how much variation there is to the original.
-
@Claudette_Baguette said:
Alien would be the most boring addition to the game in my opinion. We already have one monster (demogorgon), a second one, alien, would be too similar. I'd rather have them come up with an original monster killer than getting alien from the movies.
Couldn't disagree more. You can't seriously want another killer with knife 🔪 surely.
-
The only gripe I have with Penny-wise is that in the IT movie remake (chapter 1) it's got way too much of that 'Stranger Things' Kids do bad acting which just looks dumb and isn't remotely interesting. For every 5 minutes of enjoyment you get another 25 minutes of really bad character building.
If Penny-wise wasn't in IT then it honestly would have been one of the most boring movies I have ever watched, the acting is laughably cringey I let some of the criticism slide because a lot of the actors are kids.
I just think Charlie and the Chocolate factory had some god tier child acting compared to IT. It's like eating a food you like (pizza) but everytime you're eating it you've got someone farting in your face. Like putting toothpaste in your mashed potato. A good opportunity for horror yet you've got some child actors making it more like Peppa pig the musical or something.
The poor quality of the child actors in IT is probably more traumatising than the clown itself. It's probably more down to bad script writing trying to hard to make the group of kids feel 'normal but also misfits (bullied)'

Did anyone see Stephen King's deleted tweet he tweeted about 10 minutes ago it read "Can't wait to be scaring the crap out of people in dead by daylights upcoming 'In Space You'll Float Too' Chapter."
I suspect the killer is a PennyMorth.

yea you need to learn more lore cause it doesn't feed off of the sacrifices it feeds off of emotion mainly hope. hence why it discards survivors or turns them into killers when they stop trying to escape and give up on hope.
But what purpose does this have? Surely if the entity was so strong it wouldn't need to rely on draining hope from survivors.

Have you considered that maybe Tru3 just isn’t as good as you think? The narrative he uses is that any game he doesn’t win easily is due to a “4 man stretched screen optimal bully squad”. How often do you hear someone like Zubat rant and rave constantly about having no chance against survivors? Are we really going to believe Tru3 is the one streamer who gets nothing but 4 man death squads? Just think about it, hes in the business of making himself look good.
Some people really hate seeing credit given to streamers they hate, and it says a lot about the 20+ people upvoting it too. No wonder this community is such an embarrassment when it comes to allowing others to hold different opinions.

also how is IT stronger than the entity? the entity can theoretically create a entire world and it forces things into submission. it travels through dimensions and could be older than penny wise since penny wise was created when his universe was created, that does not apply to other dimensions/universes.
I mean the entity has created endless torture and warps the world/itself and IT literally gets beat up by kids and as far as i can tell it wont fight the entity unless it can install fear into the entity which is laughable because the entity has caused some messed up ######### and probably doesn't even have emotions.
The entity doesn't feed on fear like Penny-wise. The entity feeds upon the sacrifice of survivors. I'm not too knowledgeable on the lore but to be sure that the entity forces everything and everyone into submission just makes the entity seem frail and dependant on the sacrifices it needs to survive at all.
-
@magicmaster2020 said:
Pennywise is an entity that was created as soon as the universe was created, and his main enemy is literally a giant space turtle that created the universe. He would have no reason to work for entity because it creates no real chaos or fear for him to feed off of. Plus the fact that he is like 100x stronger than the entity.
If Penny-wise is like an entity himself why does he end up not being able to just win everytime he's up against whoever he's trying to kill. Without spoiling Penny-wise was getting seriously BMd in the end of chapter one, is this the way an entity-esce being is to be?
When people talk about the entity, they fail to understand that it's just a thing which can manipulate and reach across different realms causing havoc wherever it can. It's not something which is undefeatable and unforgiving.
-
I don't see why bad survivors want killers to be harmless. The only way they'll ever improve at the game is by stepping up to the challenge. This game isn't meant to hold anyone's hand.
If things are not going your way then figure it out rather than begging for nerfs to BM or demolish killers away from the game (like what has been happening)

dude...I love Death Note too...but come on you know this would NEVER work, like you have to be joking
Everyone always say this that or something else would never work yet everytime new stuff just works. It just requires some imagination and common sense.
When people question why Penny-wise would listen to the entity I wonder if Penny-wise in super smash Bros would get the same criticism.
It's like writing, in the first book of a series a certain person could come across as totally evil and twisted but in 2 more series's that same person could just be a good person who had a valid reason to come across as evil. It's always up for changing and so is the lore of dbd which honestly is pretty shallow.
Dbd lore is basically Entity is big boss of killers and they have to sacrifice survivors to feed entity.
Don't act as if certain things are no go areas unless they definitely are.
-
Honestly I think people are focusing too much on the phrasing if mysterious survivor. I think it's just refering to a character not yet known to the public rather than someone unexpected from a lesser known part of a movie franchise.
If you were behaviour would you want your playerbase to think you've got Samuel the android from Alien Isolation as a survivor or something which people strongly associate with the true alien franchise.

Resume Repairs > Are you sure? Once you confirm you cannot back out of the resume action > Reminder once you confirm you cannot change your mind > Initializing resume progress> you may now resume Repairs on this generator.
-
You know what? You do actually raise a very valid and reasonable point.
-
The game is more about how well you can loop and not really about whether you can kill everyone.
Having said that the game is still pretty balanced but survivors and killers who use those broken second chance perks skew matches in their favour. When there's 4 survivors there's 4 times the chance that a dirty build filled to the brim with all sorts of unfair stuff.
-
Marked the world of horror since it's inception.
I do hope we get Mrs Trunchbull at some point but not today Zurg (toy story 1 baddie)
-
I think due to the Xenomorphs large size he would suit a powerhouse kind of playstyle rather than any stealth.
By this I mean being an active, clear and aggressive threat throughout the match.
In the movies the Xenomorph tends to lurk around and investigate sounds and movement as well as sneaking up on people. I just think if the stealth mechanics are engrained into the killer that's where the frustration comes from and the disappointment in how the Xenomorph wouldn't be abused that way in the movies.
I honestly think a good mechanic for the Xenomorph would be that every time you get pallet stunned you shriek spit acid and inflict deep wounds on the survivor.
If you remember Alien isolation when the Xenomorph sees you and he's coming for you, the dart movement he does towards you should be the idea behind it as killer. If it was a *stomp stomp stomp* *pounce* killer then that would be extremely disappointing.

Going by what you've said, I know you haven't played LMAO. And if by a slim chance you did play, you probably played for an hour and refunded
I haven't played but I have watched about 8 hours of numerous people playing it. That's as far as I'll ever get to it because it's so bad. You can enjoy it if you'd like for however long it'll be around for. Just don't go lying about it being a remotely good game because it's a long long way from that.

Are you Carole Baskin because I want to be food for your tiger?

People seem to be ignoring the elephant in the room when it comes to Alien being the next chapter or a possible chapter in the future.
I strongly suspect that the Demogorgan was the Devs making sure a Xenomorph killer would function and not be buggy as heck if an Alien chapter came.
Demogorgan was the key to finally being able to work on the Xenomorph killer.
A few tweaks to the Demogorgan and you get a Xenomorph. All they have to do is give it some character and make it look the part.
I don't see the Xenomorph being the kind of killer to climb walls, it's just asking for a broken buggy killer. It'll more likely be a killer which spits acid causing deep wounds on stuns and doing a running charge attack almost like legions frenzy run to get around or to get on a survivor

Hide or Die is way more balanced, and as of a few days ago, it was on sale for $15! In the devs' own words, "go play something else for a change." 😁 Know your alternatives, everyone!
Did you really just recommend Hide or Die? No-one in the right mind would want to buy that joke of a game in it's current state. It has no chance of succeeding because everytime it relaunches it gets worse. From what I saw it's trying to rip off dbd mechanics to make up it's own game's gaps.
The level up system is almost identical, the gameplay involves just running and looping around the same tile which the killer can't catch up to you unless he spends his time destroying the environment, when he does the survivor can just loop him around another a few seconds away. It's gameplay is like dbd in that you extract darkness from generators which is exactly like not holding M1 repairing a generator.
If you think Hide or Die is something worth playing I strongly suspect that you're kidding yourself.

*****IT appeared below "none of the above" by mistake. Even though IT is below that option, you should choose it if you think the next chapter will be something else.

When people talk about perks having a one time use, just remember bloodwarden is a one time use perk which is extremely counter able and doesn't bail you out twice once you eventually mess up or get caught/tunneled down.

I didn't bother reading most of what everyone here has said. I have read the title and I can say with full confidence that if you think DS is a reason why bad killers are bad then you're entirely wrong.
The killer has to be successful in downing you, hooking you and downing you yet again. DS is not a measure of how little skill the killer has but that it's enabling survivors like you get away by using less or even zero skill at all.

Easy. You’re blaming the survivors? Camp first hook...unlikely especially in solo queue that all gens will get done and gates will be opened during this time. Get another hook after that and camp. If you waste time on dull totems, you could give him a third...so you are forced to risk NOED wiping you out. That’s the entire point of this discussion. A NOED camper can’t be countered as countering the camp by slamming gens eliminates the counter to NOED. It’s a common scenario where NOED really is BS. And if you try to counter NOED, you are probably handing him another kill by wasting too much time off gens.
I mean if the killer is camping then surely that's enough incentive to do totems. They surely seem the type to run noed.
-
If the killer is camping then how is he able to kill 2 people?
Was he on the same half of the map as the hooked Survivor or just a few meters away from the hook?
Either way if an actual camper downs you I would say it's due to your inability to sense clear danger.
