According to peanits the only map that had changes to pallets was disturbed ward. Down to 2 pallets in main building from 4.

So, you know, i think you're misinterpreting the situation a tad.

I have eyeballs and I went on the PTB.

Ahhhhhh, I get it. My question is why doesn't doc lose bloodlust after using his shock. He is the only killer that gets to keep blood lust when using his power?

    Great question lol

Freddy loses bloodlust when placing a trap. I checked in kyf after being told the opposite. But let me know if you get a different result.

He reverse-bloodlusts. Just slowing you down instead of him speeding up lol

Remember kids, we dont care as long as it does not affect killer experience, because remember, killers are oppressed!

I guess when you're bad at the game you'll take any victory you can get, no matter how cheap lmao.

I don't understand how games could be fulfilling to a killer when it would be that easy, then again people play Freddy.

Exactly what you do on some of the newer maps. Sanctum of wrath comes to mind, there's almost nothing to work with. At least Hawkins has some garbage pallets you can throw like a bot but Sanctum has like 8 pallets by default.

Sit in bushes, hide in lockers, and hold M1 on gens. Die in 20 seconds if the killer finds you, probably get camped while you are at it. Amazing gameplay.

Riveting gameplay. Guess we play every game as if we were on dead dawg saloon now lul

It's time to show your actual skill now. Killers were said the same thing when ruin was nerfed

I mean... live in your echo chamber if you want to ig.

Bloodlust is gonna stay till all maps are balanced, so theres still more to do!

That's fine, but give us pallets on the maps that have been absolutely destroyed until then.

considering what we currently have is a pallet breaking simulator on multiple maps, and you don't care for a reduction, i'd say my response was not 'derailing' but an observation

I don't think you understand the situation. They shrunk the map, weakened and removed some loops, AND lowered the amount of pallets AND kept bloodlust in the game. What are survivors supposed to do exactly? Especially against an insta-saw Billy? There's no pallets.

  • I don't know why you're trying to say what I've seen on the PTB is untrue while not checking it out yourself.

Already there. It's great. Matches are way more intense and rewarding. Actual skill and resource management is required. Not just, "Welp, I sat on 3 gens and barely heard the Terror Radius because the killer is on the other side of the planet. I guess I win."

Theres always a pallet or vault somewhere..you could say the same with killer hooks yet there are those who would want them miles apart despite it being the killers obj

The point of this post is THERE IS NO PALLET ANYWHERE NOW.

  • @Hopesfall said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1201891#Comment_1201891

guess you'd prefer 20 safe pallets so the killer participates in a pallet breaking simulator

Guess you'd prefer to just derail the discussion with a pointless response pretending I'd prefer this game be a pallet breaking simulator.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

These entitled survivor mains. You are NOT entitled to survive. Killers however ARE entitled to kill.

Just adapt and git gud. Bring Yuis perk so you can pick pallets back up. I don’t see a problem here.

Now watch out for my instasaw hillbilly with spirit fury ending and noed. Better rush those gens and totems boy.

I won't even feel good about running Hillbilly anymore if these changes go through lmao

He'll be as brain dead as Freddy at that point. Oh god Freddy with this change. Oh no.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I'm on ps4 so I can't test on the ptb myself. I typically rely on twitch streamers to see the new changes. Last night people were already getting off the PTB and now today it doesn't look like anyone is on the PTB at all. Pretty sad. :(

A good few streamers have some form of epilepsy or viewers who have epilepsy and the doctor has some flashing white screen bs going on. Might be a reason. Also most maps are now entirely a dead zone. Not exactly fun to play on lol

  • @Cheers said:

Then don't run to dead zones! Make dukes! That's all that I do and I come out alive.

Nice bait. The point is all the generators are pretty much in dead zones now.

  • @Kellie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142799/deadzone-by-daylight

I'm confused there is literally no such thing as "deadzones" anymore in the PTB

lmao this gave me a good laugh. You're right, it would just be the entire map at that point.

    @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1201889#Comment_1201889

Yeah, breaking one pallet near a gen and then having a massive deadzone won't impact a killer like billy; who just murders you at any deadzone and patrols the entire map within 30~ seconds with whispers.

Coming from a Billy main, this is going to be some extremely brain dead game play if this actually goes through lol. No need to even run spirit fury enduring if there's like 8 pallets on the entire map.

  • @Cheers said:

This actually won't effect high mobility killers as much as it does low mobility killers.

Also the only maps that need more pallets, or rather a rework of some sense is Shelter Woods (Mainly due to the lack of pallets in the central area around the tree) and Hawkins (Very few safe loops overall while loads of killer sided loops)

Have you tried counting the pallets on the reworked maps and the amount of dead zones? You'd be surprised.

  • Where do you run to if there's no pallets and you're in a dead zone exactly?

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1201872#Comment_1201872

Exactly..the fact these players thrive is indeed a problem this is aiming to fix

So now sprint burst becomes mandatory because pretty much the entire map is a deadzone and high mobility killers are even stronger. Cool. Balanced.

  • @immortalls96 said:

The point of the update was to weaken these maps..a pallet reduction is to be expected..the point is to force conservation of resources instead of mindless psllet throws..and honestly I imagine theres a tad bit of exaggeration here

You can't make maps smaller, limit the loops, and limit the pallets at the same time WHILE KEEPING BLOODLUST IN THE GAME lmao

This is going to be extremely dumb if it makes it over to live in its current state. Especially for solo queue.

  • Freddy puts me to sleep in game and in real life.

  • This is actually atrocious. RIP Solo queue.

If you're going to give less loops and shorten maps, more pallets is kind of an obvious choice, no?

  • This. I don't care how it looks on the killer's screen when I'm being hit 10 feet away from the window. If you have bad ping you need to be getting the short end of the stick.

When dedicated servers were announced, I thought it was going to work like this. It definitely should.

But is it an easy 4k if you actually use your eyes and ears for any kind of indicator that the killer is near? From my experience Pig is the most quiet killer, and one time she snagged me off a generator and since than I have never been snagged off a generator by here because she has taught me to rely on my eye's. All other stealth killer's have some kind of audible indicator

You act like pulling someone off a generator is a part of their standard kit and is what makes them a stealth killer. Getting the jump on a Survivor where they take an early hit could be all you need to start a nice snowball.

When you bring up FNAF, a game with screaming animals that jumpscare you, how can you not see my point that the Pig ambushing you is literally a FNAF style jumpscare. Perk or no perk, his terror radius goes hand-in-hand with his low move speed. Either make him faster and up his TR or dont touch it.

You cannot say perk or no perk his radius is fine. The perk literally AFFECTS THE RADIUS significantly. He's ghostface with a gun with that perk. It's stupid.

  • You might have better luck in the Dead by Daylight discord. https://discord.gg/5PW4Dhh

  • @Mikeadatrix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1194763#Comment_1194763

I can't take this response seriously when the Pig, a literal loud noise jumpscare killer, exists. A gun is meant to be loud and if the Deathslinger's terror radius was any bigger, he would be so weak that Clown and Bubba might have a new friend in D tier.

Well the pig noise isn't even comparable to the sound of the gun, so I don't see your point.

His terror radius combo'd with Monitor and Abuse is just kinda dumb. He can shoot you outside of his terror radius lmao.

  • If you really want to counter spinechill, go moonwalk towards generators. Ez.

  • @LittleCoconut said:

Let's investigate what makes the Deathslinger one of the scariest killers, if not the scariest of them all:

    • His design is really unsettling. The cowboy look combined with the creepy glowing eyes, the scars on his face and his crooked jaw really make him scary looking. Seeing him come at me in game makes me wanna run away fast as hell!
    • His ability. No one wants to get caught in that hook-gun. Trying to dodge his gun makes the game far more tense than with other killers. And getting hit with it is horrifying, as you're being pulled towards that creepy cowboy who's gonna smack you hard.
    • HIS CHASE/TERROR RADIUS MUSIC! I really want to emphasize this point. He has a unique chase music. This music makes the atmosphere of the match super tense. When he's coming closer to me and that chase music starts slowly building up, I really wanna pee my pants and hide under a rock. It's sooo scary and tense.

I really think we should give each killer their own unique chase/terror radius music. I've noticed that music really plays a big part in creating the horror atmosphere for this game. Only 4 killers have their own music, which is lame. Most killers share the same common chase music that has gotten really old really fast, it mostly sounds just comical when you keep hearing it over and over again nearly every match. Playing against Deathslinger, Oni, Doc and Myers is already far more scary just because they have their creepy unique chase songs which emphasize the fact that this is a HORROR game! Does anyone agree with me that every killer should have their own chase/terror radius music?

The only thing that's "scary" about the Deathslinger is how small his terror radius is and how loud the gun is, allowing for some cheap fnaf jumpscare garbage.

in the last several if not all my previous games in the past 2 days every game i played had 4 people together in a party that is easy to tell they are in discord which ruins the fun and difficulty of the game as a killer i cant catch anyone and as a survivor who is abusing discord they make the game less fun and less difficult on their end where as harder for the killer

killers get blamed for tunneling and camping which at this point all a killer can do cause as soon as the game starts 1-2 people try to bait the killer into running circles and the rest of them either break hooks or gen rush so by the time u catch ur 1st victim 2+ gens are already fixed cause they abuse several things a survivor can do and while i know its mostly based on skill and i know try hard survivers will just say get good its not about getting good

since everyone is in a discord call together everyone can make it known where the killer is as well as bring counter mesures alot of the games i played recently is 2 medkits 2 toolboxes or 2 medkits a toolbox and a flightlight

the guy who baits has a medkit and the guy with the flashlight comes in and flashes u when ur trying to pick the player up or when they throw down a pallet and thats already hard enough even when they arent in discord

not to mention the fact that while ur holding someone people will litterally run in ur way to make sure u cant move abusing physics mechanics cause when they crouch they are no different then a wall and even after i hit them they keep trying to stall long enough for the player im holding to finish his struggle bar

i know it would be hard to balance it cause not everyone uses discord or has friends to be in discord with but at the ranks below 15 it becomes far more commonplace that they are discord users not to mention the matchmaking is weird since im rank 14 getting placed against rank 4-9 players and very few in double digets

my final point i want to make is im not asking for over the top balancing but something that makes it harder for people using discord and abusing game mechanics

I've been accused of using discord when I was in solo queue. Don't use SWF as a crutch for your mistakes.

If 1-2 people are baiting you to run into circles, that's 1-2 people not doing generators. Ignore them if you got into the 0.00001% chance that you have the best 2 players in DbD in your match and catch them out of position later.

If you're dealing with flashlights, look at walls when making a pick-up or look opposite of where the flashlight wielder is.

    Good luck out there.

I actually don’t like playing against Deathslinger but that’s my opinion.

As soon as the novelty of him being a new Killer wore off, he became very annoying. Getting quickscoped when you can't do much is only fun for so long lol

  • @xenotimebong said:

Usually they mean it’s actually boring, as in, completely uninteractive. For example being slugged is boring because you’re essentially on a time out from the game. Freddy is boring because every match and every chase against him is basically the same. Whereas a match against, say, a Huntress, could go one of a hundred different ways. Your chases against her are interactive, you have to gauge what the person playing her will do and when. There’s none of that interactivity with Freddy, you know exactly what they’ll do and when like you’re playing against a bot.

There’s plenty of survivor stuff that’s boring as well for what it’s worth. People who run to those well known busted window loops every time they get in a chase... zzzzz. Dead Hard is pretty boring when it’s used at a loop. Being repeatedly blinded at pallets gets kinda boring.

Finding something boring doesn’t mean you necessarily want it nerfed, you just wish you didn’t have to play against it so much.

This. Why does "boring" have to have some hidden meaning for wanting nerfs or something? It's just boring.

  • @Nurgling7 said:

Don't you know? A perk isnt a problem until it's used in 80% of red ranked matches.

    ...oh, wait.

Only perk that matches that criteria for Survivors is selfcare. Want to nerf selfcare more? lmao

  • Really loving all the generalizations of Survivors equating "boring" to "difficult" or being "unable to bully the killer". You guys are the reason this community is so toxic.

You can bully a Legion (who is pretty easy to gen-rush) and still be bored with the game because of how his power works on a fundamental level.

In Freddy's case, he's boring AND good. I don't care if I bully the Freddy to his grave and he DC's, the game was still boring because of how his power works.

  • @luka2211 said:

    I'd like that feature,there has been a rise in VPN-ers lately,it's terrible.

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but this seems like a very simple solution. If you see someone VPNing with that insane ping you can just not play that match and rejoin queue. Is there a reason this idea would be a no-go? @Peanits

  • He's easy to rank up with because he can hit multiple people quickly.

  • @AVoraciousLatias said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1191486#Comment_1191486

I'm not suggesting it remove basic actions. Simply to remove on-injured actions if hit from the healthy state. Your speed boost when injured is applied after the debuff is removes (Like as the anesthesia is wearing off)

Wouldn't that make the Survivor's injured speed boost even stronger since it happens AFTER the debuff is done being applied? Clown still has to wait after getting a hit so it'll wear off by then.

  • Clown in general is boring. He needs a rework. Making survivors unable to do anything while intoxicated is literally more boring than Freddy, and that's saying something.

  • @hex_genrush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1191453#Comment_1191453

New ruin isn’t meant to slow the game down, rather it amplifies any pressure you put on survivors as gens go back. It’s not a slow down perk because it doesn’t affect the actual gen speed itself

You aren't understanding my point. Chase one person all you want, people will still be on generators. Now that Hex Ruin can't even get BROKEN at all for that allotted time, people can literally ONLY focus on generators instead of finding Ruin, making gens just get done faster. That won't really make ruin any stronger.

Might make it weaker honestly unless you plan on just walking from generator to generator not committing to a chase for 5 minutes and at that point why are you doing that lmao

  • @Primalux135 said:

I ve got an idea make throwing deny any action except running. If that so it would be understandable the time he needs to reload

So lingering Doctor shocks. Sounds boring and annoying.

  • So Hex intervention is a hex that itself cannot be broken but has an effective timer before it becomes useless. Why is that a hex?

  • @hex_genrush said:

    Hex: intervention

the thought of your hex totems being destroyed sparks anger and arouses the entity.

Hex: intervention will block all hex totems at the beginning of the trial for 120 / 220 / 320 seconds

the effect persists as long as the associated hex totem is still standing.

maybe this will make hex perks actually good, and I could start using ruin again without it getting cleansed in the first minute of the trial. Let me know your thoughts

First off, Hex perks aren't supposed to be "good". They're supposed to be a "gamble".

You will probably also make gens fly even faster if Survivors can't break Hex Ruin. Might as well just commit to generators at that point so ruin doesn't take effect.

    Edit:

    @PrettyFaceKate said:

the effect persists as long as the associated hex totem is still standing.

If it's a hex then it would block itself as well.

    Pretty much this too lol

  • @NekoTorvic said:

Deathslinger is very strong on chases but it depends on the other player's skill. He is also very punishing if you miss. I've had games against rank 1 slingers where they start missing about 4 or 5 shots and that's all of us escaping cuz he doesn't have enough map pressure, even if his other chases were super quick. As a survivor you need to bait his shots, since his projectile is so precise if you bait going around a corner he'll most likely go for the shot and miss, its especially effective when close to pallets.

The new map is a weird one. I don't think its as killer sided as people think. There's some decent loops with pallets even though they're mostly unsafe pallets, but the main building has very safe windows, which are decently strong even if the killer spends a whole minute breaking walls there. There are also some stairs in two other buildings, one close to shack, the other close to the saloon itself, which pretty much have god vaults and you can go around them. It does depend on how the drops are placed cuz the killer may be able to follow. The bushes in the map allow for pretty stealthy gameplay too. Overall I say the map is pretty fair, but I've found it extremely difficult for deathslinger himself, mostly cuz of the very safe gen positions.

I understand he has his flaws, and I am by no means saying he's OP or anything. What I'm saying is in a 1v1 I just feel straight up helpless, even if I am able to dodge some shots or break his chain. Haven't really had this with any of the other killers (other than maybe Spirit?). At any point he can just quickscope and frame 1 pull the trigger on ya through tiny cracks and crevices. I just never feel "good" about fighting him.

I haven't really explored the two elevated "god windows" yet, maybe those make up for the lack of pallets, idk. The map in general feels like a shell of a map with the inside gutted out.

I haven't had a bad time vs deathslinger, (ive earned more white whale trophies vs him than any other killer thx btw), but I really don't like the new map as survivor.

It just feels too wide open and bright. I prefer stealthy play and all my solo q games here have been a disaster. But whatever, there's always the next round.

I think the things that irk me about Deathslinger the most is how NoED, Devour, etc works with his power (when really I don't think that's truly an "M1"), how long his lunge is (he can reel you in full bar when you're behind a tree or something and lunge around the entire tree and still get you even though you should've gotten out of that situation), and how he can frame 1 quickscope you at any time so you have to just randomly flop around and pray even in a loop.

With Dead Dawg, it feels like if there's an early hook it's just GG. Survivor has no defenses, it's almost like the game is counting destructible walls as pallets when generating the map.

High Rank feels like it's 99% Rank 20 survivors and 1% is actually high rank.

Hope the upcomming MMR System they talked about will improve the situation.

You are absolutely right. Unfortunately, this was duo queue. The aura of the guy looping the Legion was my teammate.

I can't even count the amount of games where I play and I'm like "these guys have to be brown ranks, probably bad matchmaking" and they were all red ranks (killer included).
