Are you ragequitting in every pvp game when it doesn't go easy and you may lose? Then maybe you shouldn't play pvp games at all. Try single player games in which you can beat the AI and feel like you are the best.

Nope not at all. In other pvp games I recognize a fair chance unlike this game. I'd seriously suggest survivors play single player because even with the game so heavily in their favor they want to complain.

  • Yeah but its fine according to the delusional people on this forum.

  • @Huff said:

Don't bother, guys. He just is going to call anybody who disagrees with him a survivor main to disregard what they say even if they had directly said they're not a survivor main.

No I am going to call them that because their arguments dont line up with the reality of the current game.

  • She sucks. Only good for punishing altruistic survivors.

  • Survivors need nerfed to the ground. No 2nd chance perks whatsoever.

  • What the hell are you survivor mains talking about? It gives you a free health state for doing what you are already doing. Why should you get another chance for that? The perk is beyond broken and needs to change. Yeah sometimes it will do nothing, but many times it screws a killer out of a deserved kill. 2nd chance perks serve no purpose in this game and need to be deleted.

Switch to survivor or Just play something else for a week. Try civilization.

    Enough with your drama.

Nerf survivors to the ground then tell them to plat civilization.

  • Yeah survivor is a joke so now tell the devs to nerf them.

  • Absolutely not. Gens are so easy to do. You dont need some dumb bonus because your teamate opts out.

The game is plenty fair. It's not the games fault that you can't figure it out.

Sorry kid but when even the best players say the game is bs and unfair then the game is bs and unfair. Im sure the game is fair only in the survivor brain.

Made up rules? I'm asking people to not drive each other away from the game. I am ASKING people to not go out of their way to ruin my day further than the rest of the world already is. I am ASKING that people stop using the dumbest excuse imaginable which is completely countered and debunked by other player's existence.

And it's not the DEVS fault that you have to try and ruin the game for others because "lack of balance". That's purely on you.

You are asking people to use inefficient strategies based around some code of ethics. I dont ever see such a thing in other multiplayer games. The sad thing is in almost all these posts its always skewed against killers to the point we just laugh at you for your made up rulebook.

Will people leave the game? Sure and thats a good thing. The sooner they see people leaving the sooner devs will finally realize they need to buckle down and rework a lot of things. Many killers are leaving. I barely play anymore compared to what I used to.

Tunneling isnt trying to ruin the game for others, its trying to win. Taking out a person early is a HUGE advantage and makes more sense than chasing down a healthy person because survivor rule book says so.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

So, as of late, there has been a rampant rise within the Killer community of tunnellers and campers. This has been the case ever since the Ruin rework. To me, there is zero justification of this behaviour.

I could reasonably see it back when Dying Light was based on the Obsession dying, and I can sympathise with camping out someone who's done nothing but flashlight and teabag you for a majority of the game. Delete them so they can't be toxic. Ruin their game since they ruined yours. It's ok.

However, I have payed money for this game too. I've bough a physical and digital copy for Xbox, purchased every DLC except for Ash and Leatherface, and even bought some Auric Cells for some cosmetics. So, why is it acceptable for YOU to tunnel or camp, gen-rush, teabag and flashlight at pallets, abuse perks like NoED and Borrowed Time, drag me back during EGC just to see the Entity kill me when I'm the last one alive and try to justify it with "I payed money for this game, I should get to play how I want."

Guess what, genius. I'VE PROBABLY PAYED MORE MONEY THAN YOU!

I don't gen-rush you deliberately, I don't know god-loops that well, I don't bring in any items and the only meta perks I run are Balanced Landing (if you can still call it meta), and Decisive Strike to deal with actual tunnellers on ONE of my two main builds.

I don't face-camp or tunnel you, I don't use only Billy's saw, I give you a free farming session if two of your idiot teammates DC early on you!

I show a level of common courtesy to everyone else. Mutual respect, until you show me that I should do otherwise. So, why is it not reciprocated, huh? I'm not an entitled player, or salty for asking that maybe we could have a mutual understanding of each other.

So. I'll say it one more time. This is not an excuse to forgive your abhorrent behaviour. We ALL payed money for one thing or another in this game.

Yes this is basically an angry rant, but enough is enough. I'm over hearing this dumb excuse. This isn't a free-to-play like Fortnite, so there should be zero reason to say this.

And to all those who think they can justify saying this, you are lying to yourself. I don't even want comments on this. Just for people to read and understand what I'm saying.

Honestly stop there is no common courtesy ######### is with these made up rules and ethics you people want to enforce. Get on the devs to increase gen times, get on the devs to remove 2nd chance perks. Get on the devs to bring balance to the game and you will see camping and tunneling go down.

  • @Murdle said:

Literally every hag uses ruin and probably make your choice too.

After they hook someone, they place like 3-5 traps around them.

After that, they proxy camp and keep checking the person on the hook!! So it's literally impossible to crouch walk past all the traps in time and rescue them.

So it's like the only viable option is to rush as much gens as possible and not even attempt to rescue anyone and let probably 2 survivors die.

    I hate playing like this.

I just had a game like this and 2 died. Me and another guy escaped but still it was a boring game cause the only thing I did all game... WAS REPAIR GENS. THAT'S IT.

I attempted to save a person but like I said.. It was impossible with how the Hag was playing.

Can we change these types of killers or give survivors more perks or buffs that combat this boring play style?

Literally everyone is tired of this unskilled way of playing. Camping is the most toxic thing and you're making it a more viable strategy by nerfing the ######### out of survivor items.

Genrush is hardly even a thing now. Toolboxes repair like 10% of 1 generator. Survivor items are absolute trash now...

    What are the devs thinking??

You're delusional if you think gen rush is not a thing. You aren't entitled to save everyone.

  • @Liljay09 said:

When killers camp i get angry asf because i just got caught in the first 2 mins. I barely did nothing but probably pallet stunned only 2-3 times before i get camped for no reason. The killers that camp are sometimes prestige or in purple ranks (im in purple). Its annoying because you sit on the hook for about 2 mins and have to die without playing the game that took 13 mins to get in 1 match. If i get saved they tunnel and put me back on the hook. I can understand a patrol but not a camp. The only time i camped is when i went against toxic survivors who all had ds and head on and purple flashlights when it was endgame (i still lost). I can understand if there are new killers releasing or its for archives but other than that no.

If anyone gives a good detailed explanation on how camping or tunneling is fun for both killer and survivor ill shut up.

I don't care about your fun only getting you out of the game so you can't hold m1.

I come on these forums unsurprised at what I see all the time. I swear that large majority of all posts are all the same thing: killers whining about SWF, gen speeds, survivor meta perks, etc. Also claims that the devs are survivor sided and that they don't care about the killer player base.

So, I figured I'd try to compile my evidence against such claims.

    1. The pallet vacuum removal

    2. The Exhaustion nerf

    3. The DS Rework/Nerf

    4. The Mettle of Man nerf, probably the most hard hitting nerf to the survivor meta in the game, ever.

    5. The Balanced Landing nerf

    6. The mere existence of the Spirit

    7. The mere existence of Iridescent heads and how they still havent been nerfed in years.

    8. The mere existence of literally wall hack add-ons such as Myer's Mirrors.

    9. The nerfs to Medkits, toolboxes, and insta heals. Admittedly yes, instas were OP and toolboxes played a large part in gen rushing. But now, both are worthless.

    10. The mere existence of the endgame collapse.

    11. The mere existence of second chance perks like NOED.

    12. The fact that bugs/glitches/exploits that benefit killers (i.e. Legion walking backwards after a survivor while their Deep Wound ticked down) don't get patched for months while ones that benefit survivors (i.e. when Wake Up buffed ALL speeds) get patched in a day.

    13. The fact that the match runs off the killers connection. If there is even a SLIGHT drop in connection quality, the survivors feel it. I literally faced a Legion playing on a Wifi Hotspot some time ago. The worst lag I ever experienced. He said he didn't lag at all.

    14. The fact that killers can get away scott free with holding the game hostage because they're scared of getting Decisive Striked/want their 4k/etc.

    15. The double standard regarding DCing. Why is okay for a killer to DC from the map they don't like, and yet it's frowned upon when survivors DC bc, say, they don't want to face a particular killer?

    16. The fact that camping and tunneling is considered strategic and yet, for example, jumping into a locker to force your DS isnt.

All those nerfs and the game is still insanely survivor sided because the devs won't do the nerfs you really deserve. Longer gen times, removal of 2nd chance perks.

  • Applying pressure is not even a real thing. Its some buzzword survivors invented.

  • BT is a cheap perk and should be deleted, not implemented as base kit. Killers need perks as base kit not you overpowered survivors.

  • @JLew said:

There is 2 roles for a reason..some play surv...some play killer...some play both...i favor survivor and matchmaking is ridiculous

Matchmaking is ridiculous cause survivors are a bunch of babies that get everything nerfed and make the killer experience pure hell. You favor survivor and so does everyone else because it is stress free and easy. Let killers get some buffs and things may even out. Until then people will keep avoiding killer.

  • @UberSolus said:

Quick summary. Got into a game, very quickly was downed due to me not paying attention. (Fair enough) I then get farmed off hook and instantly mori'd. This seriously needs to be looked at because it's probably the most unfun thing in the entire game.

Right after they fix gen speed buddy. Until then survivors deserve to be mori'd.

  • Gens need changes. Ignore the survivor mains. The game is busted since ruin got destroyed. There is not much point in even playing if survivors know what to do. They will have 3 gens done before you can even get 1 hook. God forbid you go left instead of right in the early game and thats a gen done. Survivors control the game, not killers. Killers have made it clear that they aren't having much fun anymore and it shows in the queue times. Instant for killer always, long time to play survivor.

  • Devs need to consider this. Turn on double bloodpoints. Let people try to take their mind off of what is going on right now. Many places have pitched different ideas and special things to help people through this time. I think devs turning on double bp would be a nice gesture.

  • Old freddy was more fun even if he sucked. The new one is boring.

  • @BadMrFrosty said:

In a post-unbreakable game, survivors have no excuse for losing to a 4-man slug strategy. You have a perk meant to mitigate or negate this kind of pressure, and it has disgusting synergy with decisive strike (60 second invulnerability in lockers), a perk likely used in more than 70% of all games. Most of the survivor-sided maps in the game are still heavily survivor-sided, even if they've seen some minor tweaks here and there. So let's summarize:

    • Most maps that were broken years ago are now just 'overpowered', some having legitimate 'lose points' where if the chase goes there, you either abandon it or lose the game. A 'safe space' in a horror game, if you will.
    • Most of the new perks that are coming out for both sides are either extremely niche, require other perks to be usable, or are just complete garbage.
    • The killers that are being released for the state the game is in, on average, are totally underpowered against more coordinated groups. If it wasn't for new/terrible players in DBD, it would die overnight, as no killer would take a single win off of any survivor team.
    • Camping and tunneling are still two highly effective strategies due to the speed at which generators are completed, and, while not enjoyed by survivors, is almost essential to some degree if a win is desired on the killer's end (especially with ruin being rendered useless, for the most part).
    • Killer variety at red ranks, based on my own experience and those of the few players I watch play this game, is still at an all time low. Same 3 - 4 killers with an oddball thrown in on the rare occasion.

What we all need to understand at this point in DBD's cycle is this: the developers do not wish to create a balanced game where the skill of either side determines the victor, they want to nurture a live service business model filled with cosmetic microtransactions. Survivors outnumber killers by a vast degree, and thus, from a business perspective, it makes the most sense to cater to them, as their buy power outstrips that of the killer by a staggering margin. BVHR has proven time and time again that they do not know how to balance or program, and while I'm not a professional in either category, I've played enough games in my life to have an idea of what a reasonable standard is for both. The only thing keeping DBD relevant at the moment is a lack of strong competition, as other games in its genre have long since died out.

You'd think a real team of devs would see this crapfest and beat it.

  • @Rivyn said:

I've finally gotten back into Nurse after the devs nerfed her. Had a lot to say about that, but because I didn't have much experience, most of it was just opinion. Decided to suck it up, and give her a go. Went through her addons after a dozen matches, to see what we were dealing with. . . . and my god, they are bad. Seriously, it's as if the devs really didn't care at all when they made a good portion of these. So, this is going to come off as a bit of a rant, but I'm honestly frustrated at this.

To start, the farming addons, which themselves annoy me. Why would you take the killer with the highest skill ceiling, and give her farming addons?

    White Nit Comb

    • Increases Bloodpoints for Blink Attack Score Events by 100 %.
    • Moderately decreases post-Blink Lunge range.

    Dull Braclet

    • Increases Bloodpoints for Precise Blink Score Events by 100 %.
    • Moderately decreases maximum Blink range.

    Anxious Gasp

Blinking past a Survivor causes them to scream and awards 200 Bloodpoints in the Deviousness Category.

Just why? I can see the top of the top Nurse players 'maybe' using these in a meme build, but really?

Then you have the addons that perks already cover.

    Metal Spoon

    • Moderately increases Grunts of Pain Volume after hitting the Survivor with a successful post-Blink Attack.
    • This effects lasts for 60 seconds.

    Bad Man Keepsake

    • The Aura of a Survivor healing or being healed is revealed to The Nurse within  after hitting the Survivor with a successful post-Blink Attack.
    • This effect lasts for 60 seconds.

Stridor covers what Metal Spoon does, and doesn't rely on landing a hit. Nor does it have some arbitrary time limit. Nurses Calling is her bread and butter. Every Nurse player worth their salt uses it, as it's just that good. Especially if you match it with M&A. Why give her an addon which a perk already does? Like Metal Spoon, why use this at all?

Then you have her two brain dead addons.

    Spasmodic Breath

    • Temporarily disables Spencer's Last Breath and increases The Nurse's Movement speed to 4.6 m/s after hitting a Survivor with a successful post-Blink Attack.
    • This effect lasts for 60 seconds.

    Matchbox

    • Increases The Nurse's Movement speed to 4.2 m/s.
    • Removes 1 Chain Blink Charge.

These two really bug me, and one of them is an iri. You give up your blink to turn into an M1 killer. Why? Are these two supposed to be some kind of joke the devs were pulling? Where, outside of a meme build, would you be using these? You give up what makes her strong, just to chase survivors around pallets for a minute at a time? Sure, you can run builds with Nemesis and PWTF, but you're still just messing around with these. The fact that one of them is even an iri is what bugs me the most.

That's seven addons right there that are just awful, at least in standard matches. The fact that three of them are meant for farming is ludicrous. I understand Nurse needed her addons looked at and redone, but can it be said this was an honest attempt to keep her fun? I'm personally convinced that the reason they slapped a timer on her blinks (which is just a cooldown on top of her cooldown), was due to their lack of creativity with her addons. The lack of creativity 'forced' them to go the extra step with her power.

On a slightly different train of thought, wouldn't the time the devs took to 'rework' her have been the best time to iron out her bugs that have been plaguing her for years? Half the time I play her it feels like it's Me Vs Survivors Vs Game.

    Edit: Grammar.

They really need to stop with the drawbacks on addons. They are supposed to empower the killer.

    Well let's see.

Killer would often be playing with friends so they'd instantly murder everyone who they're not friends with then farm. Doesn't seem like it'd be an issue on DBD as killer loads in independently, but people do have cliques and they'd gladly sacrifice a random than someone from their own group.

It had the same issues with bullying and looping despite the easier kills. Imagine 8 people now who are all actively working against the killer.

Also if the killer could mori you instantly, why have slugging anymore? Slugging allowed you more time to deal with other survivors. Leaving them in an 8 person game guarantees they'll be full health again.

Ok so the one downside you listed is not present here. Yeah you are going to get looped, but thats part of the game. Bullying would still be present but you catch them they are dead, not given 2 or 3 or more chances to get away.

They don't it's a ludicrous notion dreamt up by bad players as an excuse for why everything goes wrong for them.

Do you HONESTLY think that killer is in such an unplayable state, and if it has been in such a state why are they all still playing?

Do you HONESTLY think a business makes money alienating a large portion of their fan base by making all the decisions based on the other halves opinion?

Do you HONESTLY think that if the devs hated killers they'd have: Nerfed Flashlights, Nerfed BNPs, Nerfed Exhaustion, Nerfed Insta-Heals, Nerfed Balance Landing, Nerfed MoM, Nerfed Healing, Buffed Wraith, Buffed Ghostface, Buffed Huntress, Buffed Doctor, Reworked Freddy, Nerfing Toolboxes, Buffing Plague, Buffing Trapper....

And they HATE killer because they Nerfed Nurse, Spirit & Ruin? Give it a rest, the game is in it's easiest position ever in terms of playing killer, it's just bad killers congregate on the forums to all Vote-Up each other and cry about the oppressive survivors.

Lol killers are barely even playing anymore.

Someone reports or asks about a bug? "This probably won't get fixed until half a year later because bhvr is [insert role] biased 🤡🤡"

Any balance change (or even a bugfix) is made? "See? They only cater to entitled [insert role] mains ☺️☺️"

Like, holy hell. I get that y'all are frustrated about the balance and how changes are made very slowly but have you ever considered that making a working 1vs4 game is VERY HARD and it will never be perfect? Not to mention that Behaviour is not a gigantic AAA game company.

Changes will come to both sides in time. The devs aren't ignoring either of them. Stop making every single thing into an "us vs them". Feel free to tell your opinions and criticism to the devs but stop assuming they only care about one side. If that was the fact, the game would be dead already.

Another one of these posts hand waving away the devs failures.

No, actually killers have to learn that 2K on average is what the devs want for this game, and it is the way the ballance should be.

But you might be right tho, killer mains wont accept balance, they need to have the ez 4K every round or they come here and cry like babys.

What the devs want doesnt really matter if players don't want to play.

  • If they dont buff killers the game is over. Survivors just need to learn that actually surviving will be a rarity and take skill.

  • @Peasant said:

The problem with DBD is that the community divided itself. Survivor mains and killer mains are the root of the issue. Both groups have no empathy for each other and have become entitled because of it. The rift challenges were a good attempt to force people to play both sides more, but I am beginning to think it didn't work.

It's not the communities fault that this game is so unbalanced.

  • I really think they'd have to make a goddamn amazing sequel to get people excited to lose most the roster, skins, perks, and everything else they acquired over the years.

  • I dced one game as killer. I ran across the map to see a gen done already. Pretty sure it was full swf. Proceeded to chase a guy in circles while the other 3 were sprinting off to find their next gen and just said nope and quit the game.

  • Another survivor main thread. Your perks are bs get over it and get ready for more nerfs or for the game to die. Your choice.

  • If you are that bored the new update will not fix anything

  • I can barely bring myself to play more than 1 game at a time. I got Oni and was gonna learn him. Played 2 games and had enough and put the game down.

  • Idk if they could make another game. The only reason this one persists is the horror theme.

I read the paragraph, and like this current post of yours, it's all one giant backhanded insult, which is all you seem to know how to do. Zero credibility lies with you because of the way you conduct yourself. Incapable of a debate without insults. Even when I've been respectful. Calm your proverbial #########, and perhaps I'll humor you. For now, all you seem to be able to do is throw around insults, which shows me you have no actual idea what you're on about.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1132268#Comment_1132268

That is proven completely false purely based on the fact that there are maps that are more killer or survivor sided. Play an M1, low mobility killer on Mother's Dwelling, then do it against the same survivors on Lery's. Tell me it's a "gen speed issue". Of course, this assumes you're at least half decent at killer, and judging by the "no gen speed r teh issue omg" statement, I'd say that's probably far from the truth.

Sorry bud - you can't win this one.

Gen speed is too fast and thats a straight up fact bro. Quit being delusional. You can't win this one.

I will endure the sabo changes to nerf toolboxes any day of the week.

Also Deathslinger got me really hype.

What? The toolbox changes weren't even good and the gens go too fast with or without toolbox.

  • To sum it up, you are not there to actually kill them. Only give them a fun experience. Maybe you hook them once or twice but you must let them escape.

  • @gatsby said:

I run Open Handed+Kindred in Red Rank games so I get +50% more range around the Hooks. And all that combo has done is make me realize that most Killers don't leave the area around the hook. Even Rank 1 Killers do it. They might kick gens or break pallets nearby, but they rarely actually leave.

We're at the point where Killers have an easier time slowing down the game by preventing saves than guarding generators. Getting a hook where the Killer is out of the 24m Kindred Range only happens if the Killer is running Discordance or Thrilling to know exactly which gen to go to. (Or they're a nurse with range add-ons and Make Your Choice going afk waiting to snipe the save and abuse the mechanics)

The majority of my games go like this:

    1 Corrupt Intervention

2 Killer Patrols Open Gens to get a chase

    3 Unlucky teammate goes down.

4 Three Gens pop around the time of the Hook

    5 The Killer proxy camps

6 Game devolves into hook trading and slugging

7 The game ends like that.

7.5 Or teammates realize that the Killer is proxy camping, finish the gens. And the game ends with 2-3 people dying because they want Benevolent points and feel bad leaving people behind. 1-2 people escape through the Gate because the Killer has no interest in chasing someone away from the Hook/Slug

Try playing killer where you just waltz away from the hook looking for survivors like how people expect. Its a surefire way to end up killing no one. Especially if ypu try to respect the made up no tunneling rule.

And you're right in your scenario. 3 gens down means they've probably said f it and just camp for 1 kill, better than nothing. The altruism though turns it into more or turns it into hook trading.

‹ 1 2 3 … 9
