They say they don't but they basically do.

Personally, I would love to have Perks which are not tied to a character. Especially some good Survivor Perks, because for the Survivor Side, getting a DLC is always "meh". You get a character, Level it to 40 and will have 3 Perks you dont want to have in your Bloodweb. Awesome!
Also they did not add general Perks in a while - last ones were Thrill of the Hunt and Small Game, if I remember correctly. And this is quite a while.
On the other hand, I dont want to have more Perks, because this would just increase the grind. Giving the opportunity to take 2 out of 4 Perks from the Bloodweb was a step in the right direction and I am thankful for that, however, to equip every Perk to every Character still takes a lot of time.
For Survivor (because I know the number of Perks by Heart): Those are 74 Perks. With 3 Tiers each, which makes it 222 Perk Tiers, 219 in total to purchase (since every Character starts with 3 Perks on Tier 1). Until Level 50, if I always get 1 (or later: 2 Perks), I get 49 Perk Tiers. So when first reaching Level 50, I have 170 Perk Tiers left, if I get 2 Perks every Bloodweb, I still need to do 85 Bloodwebs with roughly 50k BP each, making it over 4 Million BP for each Character to get them with all Perks. It is a little bit less for Killers, since they have less Perks, but not that much.
And if you want to do that for every Killer and Survivor, you have to do it 20 times for Survivors and 18 times for Killers. Thats a lot of BPs. Sure, it is completely optional to do that, but especially as a long-term player, you need some goals.
But the Bloodweb Grind is frustrating, you get a new Bloodweb with 4 Perks which are useless. So you pick some of them, just to be greeted by other 4 Perks which are useless. Meanwhile you are searching for your Perks and they dont come up - like, I would like to play with Iron Will on all of my Characters. But until it is on Tier 3, not worth running. Same goes for Killer, why should I ever use Whispers on Tier 1? This basically tells me that the Survivor is on the Map, cool!
So yeah, more general Perks, not tied to Characters AND less Grind would be great, in my opinion.
But what I would prefer the most would be if they would reduce the numbers of Chapters to 3, and have one update for Balance each year. New stuff is exciting and surely it generates money, and I am also hyped for the new Killer and Survivor, but once this Hype is gone, you see all those issues that are still in the game, from a Balance perspective and technical perspective.
This is another thing. New general perks or new offerings or items would be nice too.

I'm very confused. Why are so many people using this post as an excuse to attack survivors specifically? Is it because of the example OP used, even though the post as a whole was very clearly about the community in general, regardless of who mains who? Did people not read past the first paragraph? What am I missing here?
Killers are saints in this game. And the reason its brought up is because there are links between toxicity and gameplay.

I think you're mislead here. I'm not saying the changes they've made aren't meaningful. I understand that for this game they need have updates or players will lose interest. I wanted to discuss the possibility of deviating from the same cycle of releasing a killer chapter every three months.
There are many changes that players have asked for such as the ones I listed in my initial post that have not been altered at all and need to be. My point is they should take a break from releasing chapters to address core game-play elements.
Pointless to argue with the devs cheerleader really.

I realise that, the point I'm trying to make is that just because the changes that are being made aren't the changes that some players, yourself included apparently, are hoping for, doesn't mean that those changes aren't significant or meaningful for the game as a whole or the gameplay experience.
Things like character and map reworks, the Archives, major meta-shifting updates like the Ruin rework, and the introduction of the MMR system are all examples of significant, game-altering changes which have been made or announced just in the last six months or so.
Normal people don't really give two shits a single perk was changed or doctor was altered. They want major features, new game modes, big changes that span the entirety of the game. The changes you are talking about might be significant to die hards like you, but they aren't going to do anything to really bring in new blood.
-
Honestly people pointing to the TOS need to get off their high horse. Those things are always filled with unethical crap that will probably be illegal at some point in the future.

"Major game shakeups"
So like fortnite. Where it constantly changes until it's not even the same game anymore? No ty.
If they add new mechanics when needed or useful sure. But wanting them to pump them out is a bad idea.
It brings people in, and don't even pretend holding m1 is fun. You can't fix gen speed because it's too boring to hold m1 yet thats what survivors have been doing for thousands of hours...
We don't need a shake up every 3 months but this game at this point in its life could use something thats for sure.
-
@Fibijean said:
You mean like the Archives or the Doctor rework? The answer is yes, they release major updates that aren't just new DLCs with every mid-chapter patch.
That really is not that great i'm pretty sure he means new features or like major game shake ups. And the answer is no they won't do anything besides release stuff to sell you and minor "balances" and "reworks"

Stop giving survivors so many ######### 2nd chances with these stupid perks. Its ridiculous. They can troll and act bold cause they know they have perks to protect them and enable their troll behavior.

Moris have been an issue for such a large amount of time and you guys have fixed all sorts of issues, both killer and survivor sided but I'm pretty sure Moris have to be the most unbalanced thing in the game yet it still hasnt been fixed... why? I have a game against a pig, I outplay pig and loop her for ages. I go down, I go on hook, I get tunneled straight off hook, moried and lost my pretty nice item. That pig definitely didnt 'outplay me' and im pretty sure even most of the biased people can agree that moris arent balanced. Surely they wouldnt be hard to fix, like mori them after they have been hooked twice or something... They dont even work out for killers because sure... they will give them a free kill but that means nothing as they dont get pips or bloodpoints out of it. It just seems like a lose lose for everyone and the animations are really the only reason for their existance :/
What are you smoking dude you got hooked once and then caught again. You did get outplayes. Gen speed is a bigger concern to balance than moris.

@gatsby said:
Decisive wouldn't be strong if Killers didn't have such BM tendencies. The game is designed for Killers to bounce around different survivors and end up hooking everyone a couple times. Map pressure is the overall key to successful 4ks not proxy camping at hook, play the game the way its supposed to be played stop making survivors have to force you to
Lol gen time literally counters your claim. We don't have time to bounce around survivors.

Funny, the same could be said about you. Every argument I've brought up, you have deflected away from. You can't fathom anyone's gameplay but your own, and because you suck, you aren't having fun. Perhaps take your own advice and stop posting, seeing as every perk you've complained about has been debunked with counters. Imagine thinking I'm jumping from issue to issue, when in reality I'm bringing up reasons you're wrong. But you're so delusional, you can't see what I'm saying through your self centered BS.
Quit the game. Very. Simple. Strong. Results.
EDIT: I also can't help but notice how you haven't defended yourself. I've called you out on everything you've complained about or tried to assess, and you just can't defend yourself. This is great.
I have no need to defend myself when plenty of people have done it for me several times over. The game state speaks for itself though. You are a broken record anyways so I barely read your silly responses. It is good you keep bumping my thread though.
Lol'd at quit the game. I can only laugh at you. You'll be sitting in a lobby alone pretty soon with that mentality.

Probably should've mentioned this, but I didn't think I'd have to: your proposed changes would make the killer role unstoppable. There's a difference between a strong role in a 1v4 and an unstoppable role in a 1v4. You're just wrong entirely. Your changes are wrong, your suggestions are wrong, your assessment as to which role I (as well as others play) is wrong... Just stop.
"Waaaaah ur wrong and bad."
Ok then stop posting please. You got nothing of value to say anymore since you've been so throughly debunked in this thread it really is hilarious watching you jump from issue to issue and get shut down each time that you just have to throw your hands in the air and give up.

Walked enough away but only far enough shock can still reach to hook. Tunnels....good times. Slugs even better! After 4 trash games...my friends say they hate this game thats the same crap all the time. Annnnd they all go play another game. Long lobbies, toxic killers, hitboxes sooo bad and pallet and unhook lag. = not worth it to anyone who enjoys a good game. I and at least half of my dbd friends have been playing other multiplayer games. Kinda nice to get away from the bullshiz. So anyways good job ensuring toxic killers get those oh so deserved points and ruining the game. Now the camping is worse. Like literally every game cause they know we cant dc without penalties. Smh. First end game for killers now this. Also exit gates sooo close...its endless the dumb crap that is wrong with this game. Have fun dbd and those who will eventually do as so many are now. Leaving behind a toxic game because nothing is being done about a complaint thats been complained about for yeeeeeaaars! After tome is over, so is my desire to play this game.

Power versus unstoppable. If there's no counter play by survivors, they may as well have made the game PvE or PvAI. What fun is trying to win against an unstoppable force? It's pointless and not tun or engaging. Would you rather all survivors just get immersed and hide the second they hear your terror radius and you get annoyed with finding no one? QQ
A killer is not an unstoppable force dude even if crutch perks are nerfed. There is still near endless looping and gens are done so fast its a joke. Plus 3 lives for each survivor to eat up time. The game might as well be PvE right now cause almost no one wants to play high rank killer.

In a recent dev stream, McClean stated that secondary objectives are not going to be looked at until potentially way down the line.
The line is almost 4 years and a secondary objective has still not been looked into.
The vast majority of the playerbase want something more elaborate to do other than holding M1, killers too. Killers see an implementation of a second objective as a means to better balance the game in terms of them being able to defend objectives.
I find it insulting that for something which has been an issue for a long time, is repeatedly dismissed as something they might get onto changing one day. The truth is that it's been almost 4 years and that day hasn't yet come.
Some of you will say "how are supposed to balance a second objective?" It's literally their job.
How will they make Claudette's new dress pretty...by making it look good.
How do they make perk X more fair...by nerfing/buffing/reworking it.
The fact is that the option has been there for a while and for whatever reason they don't want to trouble themselves with having to add new gameplay mechanics to their game.
Also before someone says "Cleansing sickness is like an additional gameplay mechanic" while I'll agree the variety is nice but if it's not of vital importance to do a certain thing then it doesn't matter.
Blame this community that defends the game to their last breath no matter how bad it gets. People bring up valid points and its lost under a sea of people white knighting for the devs essentially.

Never once have I said the game was healthy. But if you expect the devs to listen to a guy complaining about Unbreakable, Adrenaline, and Dead Hard...DEAD HARD, you must be on some of the highest quality drugs the market has to offer.
Quite frankly, I'm actually a little jealous of you. I can't imagine being in a state where I could be so delusional to think Dead Hard is a broken perk.
But once more I'll say "What about meta perks and offerings on Killer?" You have yet to comment on the strong perks we have to offer. Moris end matches insanely early and don't give the survivors a real chance to play the game. Do you have an issue with that? I'll guess "no", seeing as it ruins the experience for the side of the playerbase you don't play.
You haven't had a valid argument at all. You're just whining because you don't want to improve from being a lunge-happy killer who wants to win every chase and 4k nonstop. The survivors goal isn't to survive as long as possible, it's to survive AND escape. You're playing the wrong game in your head.
Try opening your eyes. While I never elaborated on dead hard there was a another thread that explained exactly why it is so broken.
I am not here to comment on killer perks and offerings. Stop trying to twist the discussion away from your ridiculous survivor perks. Go make your own thread crying about mori's and NOED if you want. You can join the rest of the survivor mains working to make the game even worse.
You've run the gamut of saying you're bad, what about these perks, etc. It doesnt do anything but show how biased you are and afraid of an actual fair game or any sort of change.

....Of course they do. That's the whole point of what they are doing. This isnt a hobby. As much as they may enjoy this game and working on it, at the end of the day the most important thing is the paycheck. Is that wrong? HELL NO. Anyone with any kind of job will attest, that the paycheck is most likely the number one motivator to work.
You can argue that the number of cosmetics is a money grab. You wouldn't be wrong. Its the point. Cosmetics are a source of income. And if they werent a good source of income, they wouldnt devote the resources to making them. Truth of the matter is, behavior is a business not a charity. Not a hobby. A business. Amd businesses need to make money or they close.
"Well they are just greedy and don't care about the player base!" I say you are full of manure. If they didn't care about the game. If they didn't care about the players, how often would you see any dev on these forums? Would they do the developer q&a streams, the update streams? Would they be spending time reworking 2-3 year old killers? Would they be trying to change unhealthy aspects of the game to make it better? If they didn't care would there even be a game at this point?
Changes are made for many reasons. And everytime half the community calls for torches and pikes. And the game still goes on.
But going back to money. Does anyone know how much it costs to run a small business like behavior? Last i heard about 50 employees? Ever think how much it costs a year to pay those 50 employees? I don't know how much they make a year but lets just say 50k a year is average pay for all behavior employees. That's 2.5 million dollars a year in payroll alone. And at 7.99 for every dlc that comes out, that's 312,891.1 copies that have to sell the cover payroll alone.....how many people play this game?
Further more, what about power? How much does it cost to run their equipment. How much does the equipment cost? What about rent? Or taxes on property they own? Servers in different countries. Licenses. Legal fees. Am i missing anything?
Point is, behavior needs to make money to stay in business. Thats a fact of the world we live in. That is what businesses do. And as far as how much money, show me any business that strives to just break even all the time, and you most likely won't see that business in 5 years.
As far as fair? A one time 10 dollar buy in allows you to purchase the rift every single time it opens. AND if you dont make it to the end you can save your cells.
Cosmetics are just that. They have zero effect on gameplay, save for a couple of them being easier or harder to hide in.
You don't need to buy the chapters to play against the killer or on the map. And all perks end up in shrine anyway. Not to mention you can buy the chapters just by playing the game. I used shards on oni chapter because i just didnt like oni. I can already buy the next chapter with shards if i wanted to. And i really dont play that much.
Moral of the story, try to understand the business model of things before you start complaining about greed. That or just tell your employer that you are going to work for free because that's what many people here want behavior to do.
Wow you really convinced me dude. They need money like everyone else in the world...

Oh, I didn't realize all of my aforementioned meta items for killer were hit. What's that? It was only Ruin? Oh, well then I guess all of survivor meta should die off.
This has to be bait of you can't provide any valid argument against anything I've mentioned to counter all of your hated perks. If you knew anything about any game, you should know there is always going to be a meta. No matter what you do to perks, there will be a new meta. Get better at the game instead of recommending trash changes, or use meta perks on great killers. Either way, stop complaining. Again, all this coming from a killer main. I play Spirit, Billy, Clown, Plague, and Ghostface. So not even all top tier killers. I just have game sense and map knowledge, meaning I played the game enough to counter what you're complaining about.
I've provided plenty of valid arguments you just don't agree with me so you wanna play that game. The game can run its course then while you stay in denial thinking its healthy.

So let me clarify: because I disagree with you, even though I play the exact same role as you, I must be a survivor main? Well, you just sealed my doubts as to whether or not you were a competent killer or not.
Every perk you are complaining about has a counter FFS.
Dead Hard? I said it: don't be a bloodthirsty mongoloid and just get close to them first.
Decisive? Don't tunnel, and use Enduring. Combo it with Spirit Fury for a build that isn't just to counter a single perk.
Adrenaline? NoED. Bring PGTW, Ruin, CI, Surveillance, or Discordance to pressure and stall gens to completely render the perk useless.
Unbreakable? Pick up the survivor. Don't rely on slugging, and actually remember where you downed someone if they do get up.
Borrowed Time? Hmmm...don't tunnel. Or chase them at point blank for 15 seconds.
These are things you should know to do as a killer at this point. I haven't played in months and I can at least tell you how to play better without even seeing your gameplay. Why? Because nothing has changed for countering these perks that have been around for forever. This is just a post to complain because you aren't improving. Look up builds. Watch YouTube videos. Take initiative to better your skills instead of complaining and attempting to trash the game.
"Ohh the game is dying really you dont say" Suggestions to completely kill off any playerbase of survivors gives you no killer lobbies, bud. Can't play the game if you kill off all the viable perks for one side and ruin the fun for them.
Which is what is being done to killers BUD. But its fine if its not your side

Is it really that hard to believe you've made a mistake and to adapt for the future when you lost as a top tier killer? (Not talking about the mid and low tier bois, you guys need some love).
Blaming SWF just seems to be a dumb blanket statement to validate yourself and every decision you made that match. (Especially when it was solo queue and you were a Nurse at green ranks lol).
Not saying Survivors don't do the same when they lose, but this happened to be my most recent experience on DbD.

This doesn't do anything anymore though? Survivors stay in lobbies now so they only have to wait maybe another 20 seconds or so for another killer to show up if you dodge.
Can't tell you how many killers dodge lobbies because they assumed it was an SWF when it's just how the lobby system is now.
Ahhh yeah dedicated servers changed things. I've played maybe a grand total of 2 game since then. The first one I lagged all over the place using a wired connection and I knew it was terrible.

Killer main here.
Borrowed Time is fine. It's a 15 second time. If you really can't help but tunnel that survivor after they're unhooked, that's on you and BT is meant to counter tunneling. The perk is working as it should: a counter to a single thing.
Same can be said for Decisive Strike. Granted, multiple people being able to stun a killer in the same lobby for a free escape is rather annoying. However, you can easily wait out the timer or trap them in a body block to cut their run shorter and catch them again.
And again with Unbreakable. It counters slugging, and that's it. It takes roughly a minute of healing to get to the point of being even able to use the perk. If you pick them up, then your problem is solved. If not, then I don't see how you're losing games to Unbreakable. If you know where you downed someone and know they needed to heal up to that point, you should know their general location.
Adrenaline is touchy, but again, a counter to slugging. If it didn't reward a survivor for being alive and standing when all gens were completed, I think it'd be better. Especially rewarding a freshly hit survivor in a chase. However, it's another perk that isn't that big of a deal to counter unless you were...slugging.
Dead Hard being broken? That is one of the most delusional things I have heard on this forum. So much so, I had to throw an account together just to make this comment. Get closer to the survivor before you swing. If they DH, you can catch them with a lunge. If they don't, they can't react to a hit at point blank range. This just sounds bad.
This whole post sounds like a complaint from a low rank player that doesn't want to improve, but would rather see survivors thrashed for playing the game with certain perks. I don't see you complaining about our equipment. NoED, BBQ, Moris, Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, Nurse's Calling, Enduring + Spirit Fury...Killers have meta perks too. If you're using a weak build as an average/below average killer, you aren't going to have an easy game. You aren't expected to 4k every game either.
Stop trying to ruin the experience for others because you cant manage. The game is already struggling enough to keep a playerbase, and changes like you suggest or nerfing into oblivion won't keep it alive.
You might as well have changed your first sentence to "Survivor main here." Ohhh the game is dying really you don't say. Maybe making it fair will bring back some killers and survivors will actually find it more fun to be challenged and in the weaker role as they should be.

At this point, I've given up on anything you will ever have to say. You sound like a killer that tunnels each person off a hook even when you know BT is in play and get DS each time because of it. Is it annoying to not even mean to tunnel a surv and eat a DS, yeah, but the perk used to be way stronger. Most killers with a single brain cell knows when to wait for BT/DS to expire. There are more important things that need to be addressed then you not liking something, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it needs to be changed. When I play killer, if I eat a DS, I accept it. If I'm a surv and I have DS, I honestly only use it if I'm being tunneled or sandbagged by another surv. Other perks need buffs badly, maps desperately need reworks, and some killers need hard buffs or complete reworks. If you played surv, you would probably complain about noed. You don't have reasons on why they are op besides you don't like them and you refuse to have a discussion about it and instead you decided to just cry about it.
If it's not fun for you like you kept saying, I have one big piece of advice, don't play the game then 😜
Didn't read most your survivor main drivel, but yes me and many other killers have been taking a break and it's only going to get worse if they don't make the game fair.

It sounds to me you are either a newer player or just salty right now a good killer knows how to counter those perks not saying they aren't powerful. But what you are suggesting is very unhealthy for the game. Being camped and tunneled isn't fun for those people that use ds and bt for tunneling and camping. But at the same time they are easily abusable they do need to be changed a bit But We can't have any more dead perks like mom
maybe make ds not work if they grabbed and bt there isn't much they can do about that. Adrenaline is fine dead hard is hard to use with dedicated servers and easy to counter for good killers
Do I think that ruin needed to be changed, yes it did by removing ruin killers will be forced to get better. they nerfed balanced because it was the only exhaustion perk that worked while exhausted and ruin was the only hex perk you dont have to actually work for it to succeed it works passively which gave the killer to much Leeway, hex perks need to be worked for in order to get them to work. But that being said it can probably use a buff
Sounds to me you are a survivor main. I really don't care for a survivors opinion. This is about fairness which is something you constantly fight against.
I've been playing off and on since launch and the game was getting better until they started torpedoing killers. You can write about counters and justifications all you want, but at the end of the day ruin was one of the easiest perks to counter and it STILL got deleted essentially. All because it was unfun. So i'm telling you these second chance perks are some of the least fun for killer and in the interest of fairness and game balance should be nerfed to the ground.
End of story.

Oh yeah, let's just erase any and all chances a survivor might have and give a killer a 4K within the first 2 minutes of a match, every time, without question.
Good way to make survivors quit playing. If nobody plays survivor, you'll have nobody to go up against.
It doesnt erase all chances it would make things fair and return killer to the power role where they belong. You would have to git gud like you tell all killers who used to use ruin.

How much fun it is going against a AFK wraith or play against a killer that you make give I'm talking 2 Gens left give up make them stand in a Corner and they don't dc.
Survivors do you still have fun if the Killer just stops playing? No Chases, No Unhooks,Talking nothing not even a hit to heal.
If I give up I will dc and the game will end so whatever

Those have to be the absolute worst ideas for perk changes I have ever seen. While you are at it why don't we make No Mither mean you are permanently downed
Of course they sound bad for a survivor main. Its about fairness though. Your no mither idea sounds good.
