I think at first they did, but I don't think they do anymore. I think the accountants and marketing people just tell them what to do at this point so they can squeeze every last cent out of people.

Then show me how this free escapes would work, but you cant.
You want me to explain how the perks work? Go read them.

survivors already had to suffer from tunneling and camoing way longer. and they still suffer, cause the perks arent even that helpful, which is a fact. so stop being whiny, if you dont have any logic behind your talking.
Free escapes sounds helpful to me. Everyone is using perks that are not that helpul......right.

Dead Hard is balanced. Assume everyone has Dead Hard and bait the swing.
A nerf shouldn't make perks dogshit. It should fix it from being in a broken spot to a balanced one.
Balanced in this game is dogshit. Look at all the other perks that no one touches. And no dead hard is not fun.

DS sounds awful.
Your Unbreakable is ok if it were another perk. There needs to be at least one counter to slugging. Unbreakable has never cost me a game before.
Adrenaline would be ok but I still think it's fine as is.
Why nerf Dead Hard?
It's supposed to sound awful. That's what a nerf should do. And dead hard nerf cause it is overused and that means it needs nerf. Also I don't like it. The counter to slugging is don't get hit.
-
By the time you got all 5 they genrushed you and are out the door anyways lmao

What would you suggest if they were to be reworked?
PS: its a PVP game so alot of things that work against you won't be fun. Survivors hate NOED but its fine as it is. Same goes for Insidious, Nurse's Calling, Pop, BBQ, etc.
Decisive strike - hit the killer causing them to wail in pain and revealing the killer aura to other survivors for 4 seconds. No longer free escape.
Borrowed time - takes you longer to die on hook. You can struggle for 10 more seconds. Boosts struggle points by 100%
Unbreakable - cannot bleed to death and reveals hatch location when downed if it is open. After 10 mins down your aura is revealed to killer
Adrenaline - when gens are done you can heal 100% faster
Dead hard - add more cooldown so no one wants to use it
That brings the perks in line with all the other garbage in the game.

No. They just need some slight reworks. And by they, I mean DS. Deactivate it upon working towards the objective or performing Altruistic actions. Done.
Dead Hard is fine.
Unpopular opinion but Adrenaline is fine.
BT is fine-ish. It's only problematic when someone unhooks in your face before you can even leave. But I have no idea how they can fix that.
I disagree and want to see them deleted(or reworked since that has the same effect) because they are not fun.

This is not the exact reason. Most survivors are red ranks because of the new rank reset system. You dropping only one color every month. Red ranks will stay there for the rest of their lives and lower rankers reaching red ranks fast because of that. So there's tons of red rank survivors.
Yes and not enough red rank killers cause they all quit. There's only fresh killers now who will burn out and quit too.
-
No the game would legit be better if those survivor perks were gone.
-

yep,, good system is in identity v where each survivor or what is it called is unique, but as azt says its too late.. hopefully in few years they will announce dbd 2 with all these changes
They can't even make a 2nd objective so good luck getting a 2nd game.

I know I'm not the first one to point this out but why does matchmaking only take 3 minutes (I was the killer in this match) and all survivors are 9 ranks higher than the killer? It was better when you had to wait 10 minutes to get a fair match.
Not enough killers

I'm sure killers will have fun in lobby simulator, followed by tunnel simulator.
Broken record: Ruin wasn't required nor was it effective against great survivors.
How to counter DS: Don't grab the unhooked survivor for 60 seconds if you want to avoid the stun, otherwise eat the stun as fast as possible to resume tunneling with ease.
How to counter BT: Don't hit the unhooked survivor for 15 seconds. After that, hit em and hook em so you can continue camping.
How to counter Dead Hard: Don't be a potato and swing at invincible survivors.
How to counter Unbreakable: hook survivors
How to counter Adrenaline: Noed I guess?
How to counter Iron Will: Infectious Fright and Stridor
Or just nerf and delete them all. They are unfun and ruin my gameplay experience so they need to go.

You mean in the last two months?
The whole bringing solo's up to swf standards has been their go to for much longer than 2 months.
-
@oxygen said:
So what exactly should they do about it? Because if you mean any form of mechanical nerfs or handicaps (less perks, slower gens or whatever) then yeah, that's never going to happen.
Notify the killer before the game. Provide BP or shard bonus incentives to play against SWF. They'd still get dodged.
-
I play different games.
-
Pipping literally does not matter one bit anymore since they are getting rid of ranks. Why make an objective if it isn't even feasible to defend? Bad design.
-
They probably dont want to spare the resources. They only want to add stuff they can sell. Not to mention it would shake up the game big time and they can barely balance anything.

@Mikeasaurus said:
I really just want to know what the devs are planning to do. They've turned the game into a war zone. Killers are outright camping/Tunneling out of protest, leading to survivors now essentially being toxic and bullying the regular killers. One single update to a Perk and the game seems to have just imploded into itself and created a huge rift even worse than the usual one!
Getting ruin nerfed was a war declaration.
-
Because devs would rather please the survivor masses.

@Waffleyumboy said:
So I've been hearing a lot of calls for a BT nerf lately and I want to know...what makes it so powerful? Imo BT is pretty balanced, heck it doesn't even punish camping with insidious, wraith, freddy etc. How could BT be balanced better if it's too strong rn?
Bt is busted. Scrubs should not be able to rush the hook like they do. They need to nerf it to the ground.

I can honestly say tonight was the first time in a while where I truly just closed the game in disgust. The game speed at high ranks is a giant elephant in the room and will continue to be as long as the game is myopically balanced around new or low skill survivors. You truly don't have a chance if the survivors are top tier with Commodius Toolboxes/Iron Will/Sprint Burst. So I think, "Hey, I'll just take Spirit and it'll be fine." Nope. Can't hear footsteps on half the maps. Yui is muffled. Ace still has built in Iron Will. Can't possibly just standardize audio levels across characters and maps and actually QA anything before a patch. Actually had 3 gens pop in under 2 minutes while I hooked 2 survivors. Guess I'll just apply some pressure, right?
Pressure is just a defensive buzzword adopted by the devs and survivor community to hand wave the short comings of the game.
-
The game is no longer competitive with this change. Might as well just joke around. Some games you get destroyed, others you win easy.
-
@coppersly said:
Oh it's not that big of a change you're just overreacting.
I mean having literally less playstyle options and walking slowly while a survivor runs away and you're unable to do anything is the hieght of engaging gameplay.
People like this is why the game is in such a rough state. You hand wave every bad change.
-
90 percent of perks are situational garbage. They need to rethink perks. Too late now though unless they dedicate a giant mega patch to fix all perks into something actually appealing.
-
Yes I am still mad. They nerf one of the biggest most essential perks without any changes to other perks or addressing the reason it was used so much. They are too lazy to add a 2nd objective, but also refuse to increase gen times. They basically are admitting their game is boring and they don't want to do anything to fix it.

Que times suck so much for killer right now that I don't know who has the luxury of lobby dodging. I just bring franklins. When they drop the thing they are like "Lost! My precious is lost!!!!!"

After the ruin nerf, survivor have no rights to complain about anything. It's fairly obvious who the devs like in this dis-functional family.
I came back to killer after a long break. I was back to rank 18. One match I was up against two purples and two red ranks. I've been to R1 before so it's not like I havent face these kinds of survivors before but can you at least try to not make it look like I only exist so survivors can have fun. This is only making me want to go back to playing what I was on my break. News flash. I can always get survivors to play with. You can't find more of me's as easily cause I'm the minority.
What world are you in? Killer queues have been instant for months.
-
It'll be another mediocre killer with forgetable perks.

And here we go again... WE didn't nerf Ruin, saying WE as a gamer WHO PLAYS BOTH SIDES EQUALLY, I never used Ruin, and as a RANK 1 KILLER I'm not falling for this childish behaviour that promotes more toxic gameplay for both sides, I can still 3k+ without ruin or using this conducts I mentioned...
I'm not asking for this as a survivor, I'm asking for it from both sides as a RED RANK
Tunneling and camping is an effective strategy. Toolboxes are there to be used as well. It is the devs fault for these issues. It is not childish behavior to play the game with the tools and strategies that are given.

It's on our to-do list. The issue is that some perks are very easy to buff (simple number tweaks) while others are a little less so. Monstrous Shrine is actually a great example of that so I'm glad you brought it up. In Monstrous Shrine's case, increasing the numbers probably isn't the way to go about it (unless you really want Basement Bubba to be meta). Monstrous Shrine would likely need a new effect, which takes a lot more time.
Christ you guys do not want any fun perks at all. There would be nothing wrong with people dying faster on basement hooks.

They’re addicted, plain and simple. Dbd has monopoly on this sort of game so it’s suck it up or be bored for most players.
Not for long. RE3 has a mode coming and there is the Predator game coming. They might suck but it could also not. The only reason people play this game is because of the horror theme. Otherwise this game would be another Deathgarden.
-
Its sad that most perks are so boring and useless and the ones people can actually get use out of get nerfed. Might as well make the game perkless.

I’m not sure correcting someone’s grammar is a good look 👀
Guess they will do that since they can't correct the core issues that are hurting their game.
-
They need to incentivize playing against SWF and make it known when you are facing them. It's another one of those things devs will not fix and instead force onto killers in some lazy attempt to prevent the game from collapsing.
-
@goat10em said:
I am not buying it's because killers quit over ruin. This didn't just happen with the update and in my experience has not gotten worse after the update. It's been like this for at least 2 months for me.
Devs stopped innovating and trying instead deciding that they just need to focus on cosmetics and grind passes.
-
Survivors are delusional. They might as well make killer AI and drop the PvP aspect.
-
This post sucks. The real solution is to quit playing the game until they make things more fair for killer. There are plenty of competitive games that are much more fair.
-
Stop playing killer. Join the hordes of survivors waiting for games or play a different game until devs care about killers again.

"Gen speed issue"
Hold up, what's wrong with gen speeds all of a sudden?
It's been a long time problem with the game especially as the player base ages and gets more efficient at things. People have been asking for either an increase to time to complete gens or a 2nd objective for over a year. Ruin was like the last thing keeping killers afloat.

This logic is massively flawed considering the fact that killer players are also guilty of raging and disconnecting.
It's not the fault of every survivor player that Hex: Ruin got changed. The decision to change Ruin will have been based upon constructive player feedback and the developer's statistics. I'm fairly confident in saying that the developer's do not make major balance changes based upon a minor number of "rage" threads.
Rage threads are pretty prominent and effective as well as consistently taking in game actions like DCing. They will pay attention to why people are not having fun and change it.
Killers probably would have been fine with ruin change if they actually addressed the gen speed issue that caused it to be so overused.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
Ruining other people's game experience by playing in a toxic manner is not an effective nor productive way to protest a change you dislike.
While, no, it isn't bannable, it detracts from the fun of the game for survivor's who were not the ones who made the Hex: Ruin changes.
If you want an aspect of the game changed, you should post a reasoned thread in the relevant section of the forums rather than facecamp people who've done absolutely nothing.
Sure it is. They change all sorts of things cause survivors rage and dc.
-
Dc or afk sounds like a good solution. If you aren't having fun in the match then dc and complain until things change.
-
Yeah I went to play 1 game on ps4 and it was a laggy mess. I got gen rushed and just ended up hitting the PS button and closing the game.
Everything they do just makes the game worse. Dedicated servers are garbage, killer has to lag with everyone else now. The whole rift thing seemed cool, but the challenges are stupid and grinding takes far too long.
The rift skins are not that great. Recolors. Charms are pretty pointleas, they are barely noticeable.
Nerfing killer perks so now survivor queues are through the roof.
-
@Peanits said:
I think it's pretty silly to balance an entire game around one match, but let's go through a couple things:
- No down until ~1:10 in.
- Sees survivors on gens with BBQ, does not attempt to stop them.
- The game slowed way down after that when he started getting some pressure.
You can't expect them not to do generators when you give them no reason not to. That is their objective. They aren't going to stop just because you're putting portals down.
Anyway, let's say that generator times do go up to 90 seconds. That's a grand total of 50 seconds per game if they're done sequentially, or 20 seconds if they are efficient and work on separate generators. That's not really going to change anything. You'll still lose if you were going to lose.
K so up the time then
-
Actually sounds cool. Would be cool to have a 2nd player be an assistant that can travel the map and inform you of things.

I wish there were more games out there that interest me.
It’s not just one game. I play on PS4 and it’s like every other game this type of crap happens. I’m just really tired of it. It’s so unoriginal at this point. When I play killer I get a full lobby of Red Rank sweaty survivors trying escape as fast as possible “Gen Rush” barely making blood points maybe 3 or 4 hooks. (I’m rank 12/13 BTW)
I like to play casual games.
And when I play survivor I get a whole bunch of tunneling and proxy camping killers desperate for a survivor to kill and think that they are god at the game after they killed them that way.
If you want casual games then why are you not playing single player games?
-
@AsePlayer said:
Mmm yes let's buff meta perks epic idea.
They might as well since they dont buff anything else. Might as well balance the game around the meta perks since they dont try.
-
They need a serious patch dedicated to reworking ir modifying all perks. Changing 1 or 2 at a time is not good enough. They know there are problems yet they drip feed out changes.
-
Killer is almost always at the mercy of the survivors. A survivor has the tools to loop for a long time if they are proficient enough. It really is down to the survivors to make mistakes rather than the killer having skill.
