This is beyond frustrating, there is a hex on cold wind farm that I can’t cleanse. Cost me a game earlier

I love sharing this video, and I'm so glad you gave me a chance to do so, even though it seems like you've seen it already.
I had have never seen it until now, thank you so much for sharing. How is the video not under a sticky thread already?

But it would. There's been so many games where it's down to the wire and I've hooked so many people I'm like, "Is this guy dead yet? No. Is this guy dead yet? No." I'd like to know, because otherwise I'll end up hooking everyone twice and everyone will escape on dead hook.
Sorry, I was referring to the killers “motivation” overall hook counter that just takes up more screen real estate.
Showing the hookings next to each character will work nicely though and will help.

Red Rankers know how to play, but there's a huge gap in skill in the red ranks on both sides.
I'm a red rank survivor but I consider myself average at this game at best. I know what a real red ranker is capable of and they can run most killers around consistently over and over. I can do the same if I positioned myself properly, but positioning is the hardest thing in this game.
A real red rank killer is amazing. They know exactly where you're going intuitively and make it look easy. They listen for your footsteps and you're breathing and know where you are even if they never saw you. Yet I go up against a lot of red rank killers who don't even turn around while they patrol -- something so basic that a good killer should do, they can't even do it so it's super easy to juke and sneak around them. So many of them will miss you if you just walk slowly up to a doorway or hedge and crouch, they walk right past and never see you.
The real deal is several leagues above that.
This is so very true, I’m a rank 1 killer and survivor, fairly average at the game though. I’ve come across those elite players you mention on both sides and they are clearly in another league of their own.
The current ranking (progression) system is very bad, their new system is heavily flawed and not much use either, their last experiment with it showed that as clear as day.
I wish they would stop trying to reinvent the wheel and use an ELO system or something similar like the majority of all other games out there.
Its almost as if they purposely go out of their way to make life difficult for us and themselves.

I'm probably older than you are, real talk, but I get what you're saying. I'm just exhausted by their intractability to acknowledge they responded without reading what I said to harangue me. I don't know why I keep falling for thinking people act in good faith, ever. But yeah it's why I switched to "whatever"
Well once your exhausted status runs out you’ll be ok, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you won’t hear from Duck again anytime soon!

I mean, you're going above and beyond silly for your comparisons.
"Why don't we have flying perks, bc the game has realism"
"Why don't medkits fire fish, bc the game has realism"
What even are these sentences?
I suppose you only want punishments for survivors too, right? No punishments for killers hitting on hooks, or making the survivor crawl all the way to the exit gate and picking them up just before they leave and hooking them, no punishments for nodding, or t-bagging as certain characters?
That's the thing, all of the things above I would argue against punishments for as well because it's ridiculous.
Hitting survivors on the hook should be looked at too.
Its quite rare to see a high rank killer hit a hooked survivor, a tea-bagging however starts at rank 20 right up to rank 1, the concerning thing is that it often appears to get only worse with time.

Last two weeks I played quite a lot (50h) and earned ~5M BP
Killer rank 4
Surv rank 8
350.000 free BP
350 / 5000 * 100 = 7%
BHVR rewards me with 7% of what I earned.
Why do you guys even complain ?
Try reworking that to include when you restart at rank 20 each month.
-
@C3Tooth said:
I know free BP is always good. But people forget
18 DLC, become 22 at the end of this year.
For every new DLC comes, to unlock a single character's teachable, requires ~1.700.000 BP. 2 characters from both side will be ~3.400.000 BP
Another ~500.000 BP to unlock new Survivor's teachable perk into your main Survivor character. And x20 of the value to unlock new Killer's teachable on other 20 Killer characters.
Just try math people, and you see the Grind is ridiculous for newbie. Not everyone is great, try hard to get 500.000 BP being rank1 on both side.
This is exactly the point I’m trying to get across, the math just doesn’t add up.
This token amount of 250k BP (500k if you do both) just doesn’t really help, sure it’s free, but if you’re giving out rewards for consistent, loyal players make it something substantial.
-
I think monthly rewards are nice but it should be something like:
1000 Auric Cells
20,000 iridescent shards
4,000,000 Blood points
Ultra Rare Skin
10 x Bloody Party Streamers
-
That’s it, personally I think it’s a lame reason for them to cover up the dodgy matchmaking we will all soon face

Does the rank rework shut down the "competitive" mode on dbd? Rank kind indicates your "skill", but with the upcomming changes its more of a grind then a ladder imo.
Now that every1 is getting the same "rank" and we "play" for a reward, what will indicate your skill lvl on dbd? IF there ever was any, some of you might say.
Also, with the fixed matches on killer and survivors, will good survivor only meet the same killer over and over? and have less variable on other killer that are not good on former "red ranks"
They are adding in a secret rank system that’s not visible to the players...
-
@SkerpiTwitch what happened to your comment? I started reading it and then it vanished

I’m not feeling any of those. It will be down to devs anyway with regards to an appropriate name change.

The thing is that teabagging was invented as a way to insult defeated opponents, Thumbs up were not.
Exactly!! Press 1 the character points, press 2 character waves someone over, press 3 character gives thumbs up to say thanks.

Holy crap, the dramatics in this post are almost great enough to go on broadway or London...someone call Andrew Loyd Webber, I'm sure one of them can spin a 5 verse song about how crouching up and down is devastating to the soul.
And please, don't give the bull line that only survivors taunt.
In my years of playing I have regularly been smacked on the hook, face camped while nodding, tea bagged, followed around the map to watch me bleed out, been dropped in front of the hatch and had it slammed in my face , body blocked the entire match, teabagged by Ghostface and YES, even been teabagged myself because I play both sides and fly my flag for neither because the 'feud' going on between both sides is about as childish as it gets these days. And no, I don't use meta perks, I don't BM and I'm about as polite as a 40 year old English woman can manage when running from a maniac, just in case someone tries to use the age old war cry of "You probably did something to deserve it"
Someone made a joke and now people are frothing and declaring EVIL (lol seriously?) when the reality is, if you were really concerned about in-game toxicity, you would be calling for all forms of it to be removed, otherwise it just seems like people are bored and now LOOKING for things to be outraged about.
Wow, I hope getting all that off your chest helped!
This post was simply just a quotation from the end of the video that some people may have missed. As for it being a joke, it could possibly be, I’m not familiar with French Canadian humor so I’m unsure.

Not really easy to disable it in this game without ruining more stealth.
There have been plenty of times myself, and I've seen others do it too, is where a killer is moving around an object and you have to use a combination of walking and crouching to be fast enough but lower than the object in some places to remain stealthy.
Not to mention I bet more survivors t-bag communicate with each other than killers actually get t-bagged.
Disabling it past the door at the exit gate would be a good place to start!

I see no problem with its name. It's not like BBQ and Chilli has anything to do with Barbequeing or Chilli.
Leaving the name is just another kick in the teeth to those who are wounded enough by the incoming mega nerf. The tasteful thing to do would be to rename it at this point.

@TheClownIsKing said:
I am a long time killer and I simply do not understand how so many killers can get upset about DS.
The devs won’t change it because the survivor can only use it ONCE. This means the absolute MAXIMUM amount of times a killer can be stunned by it is 4.
Just eat the stun. It’s really not that crippling. That survivor is now vulnerable for the remainder of the trial.
Weak killer complaint as far as I’m concerned, if someone happens to have it then I eat it too! I don’t tunnel so maybe that’s why I face it less than others.
-
A small nerf would have been sufficient, but limiting its use to once and removing the auras of survivors was just overkill. I play both survivor and killer before anyone takes aim at me!
-
@RepostRiposte said:
Last time they.... tried
The devs rationalized not revealing MMR by saying that, if players could see it, they would be toxic comparing MMR with others and figure out how to abuse the rating system.
So basically the devs know that the calculation for MMR is scuffed and hope that if they just don't show the numbers nobody will be able to criticize them.
This is exactly what I’m concerned about!!! I do play solo, SWF and killer.
a brand new player will stick out like a sore thumb in all of the above scenarios.
-
I have ZERO need for a hook counter when I’m playing killer, on the off chance the game has gone to #########, the sound of pinging generators is enough to tell me I’m in trouble! An onscreen counter will not help in the slightest.
-
I would love to see one or two of the devs respond in this post, would really help for clarification purposes.
-
A team based game that has no built in voice communication!!
I think one of the major flaws when solo queuing is the horrific matchmaking, it feels like luck of the draw with regards to how your team mates are. Weak killers can end up with easy 4K games that they didn’t really earn.
Now take CSGO for example, you’ll usually find toxic, bad players at low silver ranks, the higher up you go the better experiences you have, which I would say is because they use a modified ELO system (from memory) and games become fun to play. CSGO in low ranks can be a horrible experience for new players, the reward is that there is light at the end of the tunnel and the suffering is temporary for most.

@brokedownpalace said:
Cue the outrage!
This is gonna sound pretty wild but did you know in Apex Legends the devs hired actors to voice taunts you can use whenever you want in the game?! You can even equip a taunt to play when you kill someone else!!
Did you know in Clash Royale the devs created emotes of characters crying or raging or laughing?!
Taunting is a part of almost every online multi-player game ever made. Can't handle it? Play Solitaire. Though that smug look on the Jack of Spades' face might send you right over the edge
Taunting isn’t a mechanic built into DBD, survivors are the only ones able to taunt by manipulating the mechanics. Killers have no option.
I couldn’t care less, I play both sides, I just made a post quoting one of the devs!
-
Could have easily coded in an animation for a thumbs up, seems like the universal thanks for around the world.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
Tbagging encouraged? Where's that come from?
One of the devs spoke about making sure the animation was nice so you can still tea bag, I’m paraphrasing, watch the dev files and you’ll see for yourself.
-
You forgot to add MASKING their new broken matchmaking system with a revised rank / progression so you no longer have any idea of the skill level of your team mates or opponent!
-
Some people either are not reading my entire post or are just jumping to conclusions.
When I sit and grind out killers games for 4hrs, I earn around 1,000,000 BP
I’m happy with those points and they get spent within no time at all.
ANY extra, bonus, free bloodpoints are always appreciated.
What I don’t understand is who at BHVR came up with the math / formula to give such a small amount of BP as part of a new monthly reward system? I say small because in relation to what can be farmed when just playing the game it is.
-
This is exactly what I’m talking about, I’m glad someone is on the same page as me!!!
-
@voorheesgt said:
Well the actual rank system will not be used for match making anymore... So they could have just trashed the mechanic all together.
To be fair you get NO bonus bp now... So why complain about still having a reason to rank up and getting free bp too?
Some people will even complain about great weather I guess.
I’m not complaining, I’m questioning the math / logic behind the small reward system.
The new matchmaking combined with the new rank / progression system will probably make a mess of things altogether. I feel sorry for the solo queuing players out there.

they tried to get it to do this, but it didn't work and they reverted it back to the way it was before and then they tried the MMR and that didn't work and they reverted that. so no it isn't like that.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1824855#Comment_1824855
again please prove hey are not someone that has been gone a while? you know rank reset will in 5 months set you back to 20 even if you were rank 1. this isn't an obvious smurf account but someone that hasn't played in a while. OR they are new. doesn't matter. Devs have said there is nothing wrong with another account on the same pc, "steam family and friends" etc. sorry not something that is "banable" and you'd have to really prove it.
Not looking to get anyone banned, not looking to debate what I’ve experienced or hear someone play devils advocate, simply wanted to find out if anyone else had noticed it.
I’m confident that most experienced players in the game will notice a full on SWF when they see it, the builds they run are a big give away, all friends with each other on steam, 2000+ hours per player except the “new” guy who’s on 50 hours but his play doesn’t exactly match the game time.
I know exactly what I’ve seen, it’s only been a handful of times and that’s possibly because I’ve dropped down ranks to attempt to complete some of the harder killer adept achievements.
So just to close this out, it doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t usually effect me but it could be an issue for mid ranked weaker killers.
-
@Hex_Llama said:
Yes, there is a common phenomenon where one of the survivors is ultra low rank, the other three are ultra high, and then all four of them play super toxic. :( As far as I know, it's not against the rules.

so they can't bring their friend in to play that has not played in 6 months? or even a month? (rank 13 goes to rank 17). i'm sorry you feel this is manipulation but it is friends playing with each other.
Sorry, I should have made it clearer. I’ve seen when a low ranked player and joins his friends, he stands out like a sore thumb, is clearly new and the other players do their best to protect him which is perfectly fine. I’m referring to an obvious smurf account where the low rank smurf player finishes top of the table on 25k + and is the strongest player on the team.

Just seemed odd to mention they're on PC if you're on the same platform.
I have a sneaky feeling that if I didn’t mention PC and wrote the same question excluding the platform, you would have then asked how do I know if they are playing together.

I'm more curious as to how you know it's a 4-man PC specific SWF.
But other than that, as a red rank player, I always get matched with players who are of a lower rank than me.
I play on PC / Steam and can see their profiles, the 4 players are all friends with each other as you can see their friends list.

Are keys really an issue for a lot of players?
if you see Key and a map in the lobby, dodge the game, take franklins, kill the key bearer early on or just crush the whole team.
ive not been on the receiving end of an early key escape that many times, when it’s happened I’ve just laughed.
usually it’s someone wanting a plan b if the game goes south, or they are just doing a tome challenge.
-
So the first solo queue game I get it again, run from one side of the map to the other to watch the jake attempt it under my nose, he ended up putting himself into the struggle phase. The next game after I witness one random do it to another random.
I think it’s bugging me more than usual because I end up wasting sprint burst.
Ive noticed it always seems to be rank 4 & 5 players doing it, never the higher ranks, only time will tell...

Does rank really matter? I've had so many red rank survivors do next to nothing and have had rank 17-18 do a ton. Rank isn't really a thing i'm super concerned about in anyway. If I had someone ask it in the pre-game lobby i would probably not really answer or give a joke answer.
It certainly does matter, I don’t see the one in DBD as skill based, more progression / time spent playing. I’ve had had random reds that have been about as much use as a chocolate teapot, and 17-18 that work hard but that’s quite rare from what I’ve seen.
I couldn’t care less how skilled someone is, all that matters is they actually try and from my experience the much lower ranks just don’t understand the game fully and need to be grouped with similar players so that they can go on their learning journey together.
It pains me to watch a hooked survivor go into the struggle phase or even die early on because nobody even attempted the save, I feel this way when both as a killer and survivor.
