  • Bloody hell, People:

My post is not about how viable camping is NOW. It's about the state of the game after a theoretical fix, and how gen speeds will HAVE to be altered as well, if Survivors expect a fix to make Killers 12 hook.

  • @Clevite said:

Also, on the flip side, this 1/12 argument is bullshit, as I know very few killers that go for 12 hooks.

They camp u to second and tunnel you out of the game.

Someone did not read the post.

The post is not that camping does this or that; The post is what people expect if camping is 'fixed'. IE: If the Killer is FORCED to 12 hook after a 'fix', and how it's affected by current gen speeds.

  • So the Killer slugs you for 60 seconds, and/or closes the hatch. Or just leaves you slugged until you bleed out, or until EGS kills you.

You can't open the hatch while slugged. And you will either crawl around, MAYBE get to a door, or die to the EGC. Or he will wait for 60 seconds and re-hook you.

You're acting like being the last hook with Deliverance, with the gates open, and with you in range of the gates, is more common than just being hooked again. It's not.

  • Because, barring some fringe scenarios; you're dead. Even if you jump off the hook; the Killer is 3 feet away and will just smack you & put you back on that hook.

You're dead, and anything else is a waste of yours, and the Killer's time.

and if that's the case we can balance around that and everyone would be happy?

balancing now is pretty scuffed with camping, tunneling and noed giving more/easier kills anyways

I agree except NoED is fine.

If you can't find and cleanse 5 totems before doing 5 gens; the Killer deserves those kills. It's not an 'easy kill' when he's playing with 3 perks against 16 perks for the entire match.

  • @Crowman said:

I like how it's bad killers winning with camping and tunneling and yet somehow it's not the survivors being bad allowing it to work.

Welcome to DBD: If a Survivor loses; Killers are OP. If a Survivor wins; Killers need to git gud. If a Killer's nerfed; Good riddance. If a Survivor's nerfed; Killers must have whined. 🙃

Maybe it's some kind of mechanics like Pyramid Head's cages? I'm not sure if that'd be better or worse, but I can't think of any other way of preventing facecamping.

Only if they alter gen speeds at the same time.

To be clear: This is not an 'us vs them' comment form me. If all hooks work like P.Head's cages, and Killers are now forced to 12 hook; they will NEVER GET A KILL in a 5 minute match. Or, if they are good, MAYBE 1 kill.

They will never be able to camp the hook if Survivors are nearby, because it teleported away.

They will never be able to camp a killer after the exit gates open; because it teleported away. And if it teleported NEAR the open gate as a free unhook & get away? I know I'd uninstall and never look back.

  • @Impartiality said:

This forum/thread is full of so many bad killers that get carried by camping and tunnelling lol. There’s no wonder this place is full of killers who claim the game isn’t balanced.

You all get kills by camping and then play against survivors much better in skill. Come to the forum to cry the game is not balanced.

And yet it's bad Survivors whining about 'camping' on the forums when it's their own bad actions that feed campers.

They see their friend camped, camp the camping Killer, get found, and then shivel and whine and cry on the forums that 'Camping is bad!' and 'Get gud, Killers!' when it's their own bad skill that fed the Killer.

    Funny how that works.

  • Yes; Killers can dodge dropped pallets. They should be teleported to every pallet at time of dropping, so Survivors don't miss out on BP.

Killers should also be forced to the exit gates so Survivors can twerk properly and BM them. Also; remove the EGC, so Survivors can decide when a match ends.

Also; the hatch should spawn at the start of the map, open, and the Killer should be unable to close it.

  • @hiken said:

just cause you are bad at the game and insecure in your skill to win other chases doesnt mean the guy who got down should be penalized because your incompetence to get other hooks, its terrible mechanic and for certain killers is borderline op cause nothing can be done, like bubba. literally nothing can be done cause is not only the insta down, its the are insta down that prevents anything from happening.

And here we see the Survivor tactic of insulting the Killers in order to control their behavior.

It's not 'I fed you while you camped'. It's 'You are bad at the game, so you camp'. Just more peer-pressure BS from Survivors too angry to admit they feed camping Killers. 🤡

  • Actually, it means everything, OP.

I hook 1 person, and 3 gens are done? That leaves 3 people to do 2 gens, which means they can stack up to do gens faster. That's not counting toolkits.

That 1 person gets saved? Now 4 people may be doing 2 gens. Again; this means faster gen speeds. Even if I chase someone again, even if I chase the SAME PERSON; this means those 2 gens can pop before I catch them, and they are not even dead on hook.

Gen speeds are a big reason why Killers camp; they feel pressured to remove SOMEONE from the game ASAP to cath up to the Survivor's objective being 2/5 to 3/5 done in one chase.

The -very first- PTB was testing out anti-camping measures. They've come out and stated, again, that they're looking for ways to get rid of camping. They are trying to get rid of it, it's not intended.

And insidious has application outside of camping, it just works worse outside of it, but you could use it to camp a half-finished gen and use that as bait instead of another survivor, for example.

And again: Killers should be punished for camping because -they're the ones doing it-.

Ah yes. it's not 'Survivors should stop feeding camping Killers'. It's 'Killers should be punished for not letting me unhook'/'Killers should be punished for playing in a way I disapprove of'.

  • Nope.

If Survivors tell Killers that 'crouch spam is not toxic', then slugging for a kill is not toxic. At least Slugging is for a purpose; winning. Crouch spam is a blatent middle-finger, as it's done after dropping a pallet, or at the exit gates.

  • @Munqaxus said:

"Camping isn't intended" again, gotta disagree. We know from multiple dev diaries that camping is, in fact, an intended mechanic. True face camping (which hasn't been actually possible for years) wasn't, which was why they fixed it so that a survivor could be unhooked from any angle, not just the front. (Fun side question, who here remembers when a killer could hook you and literally go afk if he stood in the right spot, knowing you were blocked from being saved? That was true face camping. How bad would that have sucked with Twins?)

I don't know if this is actually what people are saying. I think people are saying that face-camping is rewarding Killer-players with Kills way beyond the skill it takes to face-camping.

I've seen it stated numerous times on these boards that killers are punished for face-camping by only getting 1 kill and 3 escapes. In face, the exact opposite is happening right now. As I am face-camping, I'm getting 3.2 kills and 0.8 escapes on average per game.

From a game design perspective, this is ridiculous. I'm going against survivors way beyond my skill level and I know for a fact I'm not deserving 3.2 kills against a bunch of these survivors. Several of those games, if I had not face camped, the survivors would have gotten a well-deserved 4 man escape, because they were that much more skilled than I was.

There were survivors making amazing coordinated 2 person flashlight saves. Amazing Dead-Hard/Borrowed Time saves. Survivors that straight worked gens while I face camped. Every single one lost by 1.2 kills on average.

'I don't know if this is actually what people are saying. I think people are saying that face-camping is rewarding Killer-players with Kills way beyond the skill it takes to face-camping.'

That's wrong. It's SURVIVORS rewarding facecamping with kills way beyond the skill it takes to facecamp.

Or are you trying to claim that facecamping somehow injures, downs, and hooks Survivors while the Killer stands there and does nothing? Because that what it sounds like every single time a Survivor scream that 'Facecamping rewards Killers'; they are literally ignoring the role they play in 'rewarding' facecamping in order to pretend it's some sort of OP play.

    Killer: *Facecamps 1 Survivor.*

Survivors: *Swarm the hook, or hide nearby, instead of doing gens.*

*Hooked Survivor dies. Killer finds another Survivors because gens never got done.*

Survivors: Damn! Facecamping sure gives the Killer a whole bunch of unearned kills! It had nothing to do with us not doing our objective! 🙃

I have a better solution, Hooks behave like Pyramid Head cages.

P.D. Wouldnt be surprised if cages are an old idea to get rid of camping seeing how everything Pyramid Head its barely related to its Silent Hill incarnation (Killer movement, power, perks, cages behaviour etc, they just got a lot of ideas and strapped them to a licensed character to rake in the hype and the monies).

While camping does need a fix. It HAS to come at the same time as a generator rework.

The second you force Killers to 12 hook while gens stay at ~5 minutes; you will have no more Killers to play against, because the game will become unwinnable for them.

The game, as it is right now, is not long enough for a 12 hook-state match.

This is the ego of majority of DBD players (Killer or Survivor). You know its bad when your argument against someone winning is that they did something they were SUPPOSED to do and won, but didn’t deserve it.

”The Killer doesn’t deserve to win, they tunneled/camped & had NOED/BW/DH/ any other “crutch” perks to win.”

”The Survivors don’t deserve to win, they looped & used DS/UB/DH/BT/ any other “crutch” perks to win.

as if these perks and strats weren’t designed to help either side to win.

This is the only game I’ve ever played where you’re criticized/attacked for trying to win.

Its a ridiculous state of mind. Entitlement is an understatement.

    Happens in all weapon/class/character-based games.

I saw it happen in TF2 (<X> class is cheap! That's why you won!)

Overwatch (<X> character (usually Bastion) is broken!)

Probably happens in any BR game. And Battlefield or COD.

Players will blame everyone but themselves as to why they lost. Broken weapons/characters/powers/perks. Lag. 'He's probably cheating because there's no way I'm this bad'. Etc.

It just seems to be more pronounced in DBD. Each side seems to think they can demand how the other side plays; what perks, Killers, and powers can be used. You see it with 'I DC if I see <x>' comments. And while that seems to be FROM Survivors more; I'm 100% sure it would be reversed if perks were tied to Survivors like powers are tied to Killers. IE: 'I disconnect if I see <survivor>!' would be common if Survivor characters were not basically switchable with any perks.

  • Whenever you want because your goal as a Killer is to kill. Not to pat Survivors on the head and give them a juice box while you escort them out the exit gates while telling them how well they crouch-spam.

Me, receiving abuse for not talking in-game because of crippling social anxiety and being punished for using Discord to talk to my friends instead:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LGLA4A599YQ3/20211108-160716.jpg

I have social anxiety, too; I can't run pubs in FF14. Only groups with friends. I also, literally, cannot go outside without having a panic attack, from a combo of social anxiety I've had since I was a kid and PTSD from 6 years of physical/mental abuse. So I feel your pain.

But I also feel that that would be our choice to not use voice chat in-game, were it an option. It would also be our choice to talk to other people while knowingly booting up a game that would have always-on voice chat.

It's basically the only way to un-break voice comms. Voice gives Survivors too much information, and the only way to counter it is to make talking a threat. Which is supposed to be the point of of DBD; You make noise, and the Killer may find you.

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2716722#Comment_2716722

Because camping and tunneling give them kills they don’t deserve, same as noed, and they rank up and they feel they’re semigods, and finally they play with survs better than them and they come here crying 24/7

'They don't deserve'. And there's that Survivor ego, thinking they gets to decide just HOW the Killer can kill.

If the Killer killed you, or the Survivor escaped, and they were not using cheats, bugs, or exploits; they deserved the kill. Sorry to burst your bubble, bubby.

  • I hate to be a broken record, but it's partially because of voice communications.

SWFs can tell each other when the Killer leaves, or camps, or which direction the Killer is going, or if he's returning.

Solos have to sneak closer, remain unseen, and gather information for themselves, and may be unlucky enough to be in the direction the Killer chooses to go. Plus, they have no safety net of knowing their SWF buddy will save them in return, so they have to wonder if it's worth the risk. (You know; the way the game is 100% intended to be played)

  • Honestly; if voice comms are not a game-changer, as the devs have stated in the past. And if they encourage using voice comms; They should add always-on proximity voice in DBD.

It's, literally, the only way to balance the game for voice communication. If Survivors are talking to each-other; the Killer can hear them if he's nearby. Even if they use discord to get around the 'proximity' effect.

Heck, at that point, they can start punishing people for using Discord, as the Killer can report them if he hears a Survivor say 'He's heading your way' to a teammate clearly across the map (and thus too far away to hear his friend in-game).

Heck, if the devs really wanted to un-break how utterly broken voice chat is; they could probably make a deal with Discord, so running both at the same time still only allows a person to be heard locally in-game.

And, of course, add mute functions. So if someone's being a screamer, breathing heavily into their mic, or blaring music; they can be muted. And them doing that just makes them easier for the Killer to find.

Of course, I fully expect Survivors to claim this is not needed, as it completely balances voice-chat, which is the single largest, broken thing they have in the game. And they will do whatever they can to never give up this utterly game-breaking advantage.

  • Voice comms are cheating, this is a hard fact. I don't care if it's allowed; that's only because the devs have no way to counter voice-cheating without removing Cheat With Friends, which they won't.

This game was made for Survivors to have an information blackout. IE:

'Do I want to risk saving that Meg? She might not save me!"

Or Not knowing who the Killer is, or where the Killer is. Or where the Traps (Trapper, Hag) are.

Not knowing if the Killer is camping (Unless the hooked Survivor brought a perk)

For freaking hell: Survivors lack in-game voice chat and audio emotes EXPLICITLY because they are supposed to be hindered by not knowing if someone will save them, and not being able to communicate with the stranger next to them.

Add Voice comms? 'Freddy is chasing me; go get that gen he just kicked! Oh! He turned around! Run away!'

Or how about certain Killer states removing the TR; that means jack ######### when 1 Survivor can see you and tell his friends you're nearing. Then you can sneak away without leaving scratch marks. Whereas, with NON-CHEATERS; you would not know the Killer was near you until it was too late.

Or how about traps? 1 Survivor sees them, and then entire hive-mind of Cheat With Friends now knows where it is. Same with Totems, which makes Hex perks garbage.

Voice comms are literally cheating. They are using a 3rd party program 'to gain an unfair advantage over other players' or 'gain an advantage the game was not meant to have'.

Voice coms are, by definition, cheating. End of story. No argument can counter this hard fact.

And the fact that the devs ignore how badly they break the game just makes the game worse and worse. What's the point of perks that remove your TR when Cheat With Friends can give play-by-plays? 'Killer is camping me with Insidious! He's off to your right!'

What's the point of Hex perks when Survivors can tell Cheat With Friends where they saw the totem?

What's the point of stealth Killers when 1 Cheat With Friend sees you, so they all know where you are?

Just because the devs gave up trying to balance around voice cheats does not mean they are not cheats.

  • @cantelope said:

No because camping is an intended play not an exploit.

If behaviour didn't want camping hooked survivors would be removed from map or unhooking a survivor would teleport them away. The emblem penalty is for hard face camping. As in standing perfectly still exchanging eye mucus when no survivors are around.

You can't punish people for an intended play as any punishment is easily exploitable. The core mechanics would have to be changed.

You say this like those complaining about camping CARE.

All they care about is this little thought process:

    Is Survivor Hooked?

If Yes: Is Killer near the hook?

If Yes: Hide near hook for 2 minutes instead of doing gens, then screech on the forums about how OP camping is, and demand Killers be punished/banned/flogged for 'camping'. Because Killers should have to 12 hook every match. Also; Gen speeds are fine; Git Gud, Killers.

  • @Impartiality said:

That’s because half the killers in this forum get carried by camping and are hoping it doesn’t ever get actually punished. Instead they just blame the survivors rather than bad game design

And half the Survivors completely ignore that they reward camping by failing to do gens, and instead camp the hook and then cry and screech about how 'OP camping is' when the Killer does not walk away like they demand.

  • Maybe this is the real Sluzzy, only recently escaped after years of being held in the basement of the Sluzzy imposter! 🤔

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don’t know if it would change much but I think they should remove the “roar”. You don’t ambush someone by announcing it.

'Ultra Survivor-Stabby Knife Of 1,000 Deaths!' *Nyoom!*

  • Just to let you know, The Pig is 'Amanda'; a woman.

And while I agree, some people will say that it would be almost an instant-win if EGC activates with RBTs on. And while they are right, that ignores that they can remove the traps before opening the gates, same as how people stop doing gens if someone has an RBT on.

Yeah I know all that I thought when you said "I manually closed the game in a fit of rage" I thought you meant using the quit game button but again all those problems would be solved by a reconnect feature. If they don't reconnect by the time the game is over then they get the penalty, ez

The problem being; Someone could DC to prevent being picked up or hooked, then reconnect a minute later so their friend could save them.

Or, if the Killer can hook DC'd players, then someone who had a legit crash could return to struggling on their second hook, or even be dead, because their husk was farmed.

Reconnecting just does not work in DBD. It's not a drop-in/drop-out kind of game.

  • @gilgamer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712344#Comment_2712344

Not actually true for at least one of those they could definitely tell if you left using the quit game button. Also most if not all the valid criticism DC penalties get would be answered if they added a reconnect feature, as long as it isn't abusable that is.

I figured using the quit button was a given, so I did not mention it.

For literally every other way you can leave a match (accidental or not); the game has no way of knowing what it was: Power goes out. Router resets. PC crashes. Alt-F4. Right-click & 'close program'. Ctrl-alt-delete. Cat steps on your surge protector. Etc. etc.

None of those are any different from each other at the code/connection level; they are all just 'You are gone'. In fact; a player can make any of them happen manually. Which means people asking for 'a way to tell disconnects from ragequits' are asking for BHVR to code a game that can read human intent.

  • @Tr1nity said:

He probably said something interesting but I’m not reading all that.

Nah. They just whined and then claimed the game is 'poison' and hoped they 'helped people quit'. 😂

You know; instead of just leaving because they're unhappy, they had to scream they're leaving for the validation.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

Deactivating the timer brings its own challenges, but I think its a step in the right direction.

Personally, I'd like to see some more radical changes being made to address camping & tunneling, but that discussion may be best saved for another time & place.

    No way.

Imagine someone bodyblocking you non-stop because they know, for a fact, you can't pick them up, ever.

Imagine someone having DS after the exit gates open; Welp! You can no longer pick them up, or stop them from crawling out the exit gates, or to the open Hatch. Because they have Infinite DS!

This would be broken in such a massive, MASSIVE way.

I struggle to understand how she is "unfair" to go against but not OP. If a character can't be countered, it sounds like they just might be OP. I just came back to the game and I've only gone against her three times, but she's had 4ks in every game, and I can't figure out what to do against her yet. I can't use pallets or Dead Hard or windows to prolong chase against her. A killer who takes away everything survivors have certainly seems OP. I guess just being immersed and never interacting with this killer is the way to go. Fun for everyone!

I can certainly see why killers like her though.

'I've just returned to the game' So your skills are rusty.

'I've only gone against her three times'. And that's enough for you to determine she's OP?

'I can't figure out what to do against her yet.' Because you've only gone against her 3 times.

And yet; you call her OP. Because you've returned to the game, and faced her a WHOPPING 3 whole times! Yep; normal Survivor main.

    1. No. I don't think that "Fairness is Killers handicap how they play...". I believe that playing anyone playing a game should stick to fairplay, because we all have an innate sense of fairness.
    2. No I think all sides should be fair
    3. If I play a something like tlou multiplayer I still stick to fairplay ;) . If for example my team has all the interrogations and the other team has none or few I give them multiple chances to interrogate me or anyone they downed. Why not, we're all there to have fun and I won't loose anthing over that. In these situations I change to a type of gun that I'm not good with or change to handgun only. But it is still different cause it isn't an asymetical game. Makes it easier for 1 person to change the balance of power compared to being a survivor in dbd.
    4. I play to win if the balance of power is equal. I like to see what happens if it's 50-50 chance of winning or loosing. That is indeed easier to estimate in shooter games than in dbd.
    5. No thanks. It's up to me if I want to point it out if I see that people are talking as if they were offended by fairplay or fariness. Rising awareness or pointing something out is anyones right.
    6. Do you have data about hooking survivors seperately is rewarded higher than proxycamping and then tunneling?
    1. But fair play is different to different people. In regards to DBD, you're saying 'Fair play' is NOT camping, or tunneling. Which means 'Fair play' is 'Killers not trying as hard to win'.
    2. This is fair, but again; how? Should Survivors stop doing gens if they are doing them too fast? If Killers are expected to give 'Final hatch' instead of a 4K; should Survivors let one person be killed if they will ahve a 4-man escape?
    3. That's on you. But no one else should be expected to do that just because you want to do it.
    4. See #3
    5. No. You're trying to shame people though passive-aggressive comments.
    6. It's logic: If I camp someone on 1st hook until they die, then I'm not getting BP for 2 more hooks. I'm also missing out on any future chase points, hits, and possible pallet breaks by killing them in 1 hook. If I slug someone, then I'm not getting BP for ANY hooks (Or, only the hooks I already did, which means missing 1 or 2, max).
  • It seems to be part of the Survivor Bible that survivors use the word 'Unfun' when they want a Killer nerfed.

Probably because they're aware that saying 'Nerf Artist because I hate her' is not a valid reason, so they hide behind the ever-useful smokescreen of 'Fun', and hope the devs will fall for it.

  • @tennmio said:

It is kind of interesting for me to see these comments.

No one would loose anything just some would get a reward for playing differently. Nevertheless the answers here sound as if I was recommending something very awful or big. Everyone seems so deeply offended... by the mere suggestion of fairness being rewarded.

I am not sure what to think of that outcome.

You're problem is you think 'Fairness' is 'Killers handicap how they play', and feel you can force that idea on others though passive-aggressive comments.

It's a PvP game; Why should one side be 'fair' to the other?

Do you NOT kill someone in a Battle Royale because you found a better gun than them? Do you NOT kill the finale person on a point or payload in an FPS, because your team is up 40 points and it'd be more 'fair' to let them score at least once?

No. You play to win, because the end-state is win or lose. Sure, you can have fun if you lose. But no one can blame you for having more fun if you win, or blame you for trying to win. (Within the rules of the game. IE: No cheats or exploits.)

So stop with this 'Oh my! People are SO OFFENDED over fair play!' passive-aggressive tripe.

Also, hooking seperate Survivors IS rewarded; with more BP. A camping/tunneling/slugging Killer earns less BP. 😉

  • Oh yeah. DCs should count as kills, and trigger any and all on-hook perks, as if the Survivors was hooked for their death hook.

BTW; whatever happened to the 'Husk' system? Where quitters leave behind bodies Killers can hook & Survivors can unhook? Did the devs just give up on that?

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707302#Comment_2707302

It's not just that. I also don't like unfair behaviour and feel bad if I see someone getting tunneled, slugged and camped and they have no chance to get points or do anything or have fun for that matter.

Problem is: You can't punish or fox tunneling/camping/slugging without overhauling the Gen times. because the moment you force Killers into a 12 hook game; they will leave. With current gen speeds + the plethora of 2nd chance perks; only the best have even half a chance at 12-hooking.

Even players like Otz sometimes see 4-man escapes. And that's when they don't HAVE to avoid tunneling, camping, or slugging.

The moment you take away a Killer's ability to say 'I want this guy dead' or 'I need to camp him out, because no one is on gens'. The moment the game says 'No, you have to let them go'; The Killer is no longer making his own choices on how to play. He's being forced to give up unhooks because the game made him.

And that's not a possible way to win, in 5 minute matches.

And considering the amount of Survivors who say 'Git Gud' whenever gen speeds are brought up...Gens will never be changed/nerfed.

Which means slugging, camping, and tunneling can't be changed, or you won't have any Killers left to play against.

  • It is literally impossible for the servers to know the difference between 'I lagged out', 'I crashed' or 'I manually closed the game in a fit of rage'.

All 3 are 'The player's connection stopped responding' to the game, and it's not possible to do otherwise.

Also, if you got 6 hours: You either have allot of 'lag outs' & you're ruining the matches of 4 other people each time. Or you were rage-quitting allot before it happened. So it's not '6 hours for no reason' because the starting punishment is 5 minutes.

Trust me, it really is sometimes. I have pointed at a hook with the killer looking at me and 4/5 times they walk away.

I'll admit; if a Survivor walks up to me and WANTS to be killed, my assumption is either:

    1. They want to screw their team.
    2. They have some sort of cheat that's going to lock me mid-animation so their friends can EZ win.
  • Survivors: Killer's don't need to see a SWF of they would dodge! It does not give THAT MUCH of an advantage!

Also Survivors: I should be able to see a Killer's ping, so I can dodge. It gives too much of an advantage!

very fancy but, read again. because you clearly havent entirelly, how can a person who cant even read say that i cant have a discussion? thats the first thing you need to do before getting into one, read its not that hard. So as i said to another guy, read first repply later.

-i didnt say ######### the killer i actually said that the addons and stuff is the least of the problems, (as if that was hard to fix the addons can be given back to the killer easily, in fact survivors get their stuff back except oferings if the killer Dcs, but since you dont read what i said u dont know)

-cant be abused by SWF you have to take the L and wait the penalization and will only go higher and higher, what will you do? Dc everyday? enjoy your long bans if u do that cause if u play on a full stack if someone has penalization you wont be abusing for long. as i said before you can abuse it a couple of times then get the L and enjoy youre 24hs and longer bans, it takes SEVERAL DAYS of good behaviour to make it go down little by little. as i sad its UNRELIABLE... enjoy your first dcs because thats all you will get, also i wouldnt complain if they give a 10 min penalty at the second DC so its completely impossible to abuse then unless you want to play lobby simulator, i dont DC myself so i dont care if penalty increases.

-Yes it is, its a 3 v 1 game, what will you do? you cant do nothing you are at killers mercy and if he/she wants to make you stay slugged for the rest of the match or for as long as he wants you will stay, as i said to the other guy YOU DONT DECIDE WHEN TO LEAVE, THE KILLER DOES. what will you do? you wont do nothing, because nothing can be done, the killer can decide to farm (Extremely unexciting, id rather dc than farming) being slugged on the ground because he wants to and decides to, ( u cant do nothing against that and many times they do it because they get angry at the person who left so the rest must suffer, egotitiscal sadistic people) the killer may decide to hook you but a dumbo comes to the rescue before you can ######### (very often, they dont understand i dont want to play a lost game and wont do, this is an exception i dont do this when i get downed or something like that, im not that tipe of player but i will leave when someone dcs as fast as i possible cause the balance was broken and also gets unexciting)

so what are u trying to achieve? win? HAHA, yes you will win a 3 v 1 against a decent nurse or blight/Spirit/artist, (u wont, especially at high mmr and even less in SOLO Q with the massive uncordination) why u still there? to farm 10k points? LOL. the reason why i think this is Simple, forfeit system makes sense because you wont win, this way players can leave and go to a new match; and if someone wants to stay there playing a 1 v 1 with the killer is fine, stay there but dont force others to stay there with you, the rest dont need to stay there and since that can happen (someone not wanting to leave) makes sense that everyone can leave despite if one surv wants to stay, and if 2 want to leave even less of a discussion, also the point makes sense, why? because sometimes survivors are playing in 2 man SWF so then they decide if the solo can leave or not by boting stay? is that fair? i dont think so, if all of them want to stay is fine, stay but if there is one who wants to leave and not play an unwinable match is also fair. and yes, it is about winning, why do you play a game? to lose? only extremely casual or new people in to the game have that mindset of having fun only by playing the game, and as fast as they get decent at the game it wont be enough with just playing it, they will want to win and having the chance and they wont have fun if they are doomed from the get go.

So, give me a real argument ot stay on a match i will lose because im doomed from the get go, i dont like playing with those odds agaisnt me, because i never had the chance to win wich makes the experience boring. and as i said unless you are extremely casual u will care, its a waste of time for me staying there when i could ready up for another game that i may have the chance of winning or not... but i have one thing certain, i will lose that game when soneoem dced with 5 gens ( dont come here saying you dont know, i can guarantee you you wont win a high mmr game in a 3 v 1 with 5 gens still).

-as i said multiple times this is a team game for survivors if someone leaves with 5 gens u have no chance, its only fair that they can leave early and addons and offerings are back to the killer and survivors to go to a new game, tahts fair and i never said i had any problem with it.

Your idea is terrible because you're only looking at the game as 'I only have fun if I win'.

You've made it so black 7 white that you took out everything else. For example: If I die, but I ran the Killer for 3-4 gens & my team escapes? I won. Because my team won.

You are deciding 'If I can't, personally, win; I quit' and are also deciding it's 'unfair' that you can't just ragequit if someone else DCs, because you don't care about the game, and you don't care about the Killer. You only want YOUR fun, and too bad for everyone else.

As for taking the L & penalty; let me explain it again:

It's a 4-Man SWF. They start losing. SWF #1 quits. Takes the 5 min penalty. Now his entire team votes to leave. Screw the Killer.

They go another 5-6 matches before starting to lose again, because it's a 4-Man SWF. They start losing again on Match 6; SWF #2 quits. The rest vote to leave. Screw the Killer.

They go another 6 matches with no quitting. (It's now been 12 matches since SWF #1 quit. 6 matches since SWF #2 quit). They start losing. SWF #3 quits. The rest vote to leave. Screw the Killer.

Another 6 matches. It's now been 18 matches since SWF #1 quit. They start losing. SWF #4 quits. They vote to leave. Screw the Killer.

Another 6 matches. It's now been 24 matches since SWF #1 quit. To the system; he's clean. They start losing; SWF #1 quits again. Only gets a 5 min penalty.

Repeat for each person in the SWF.

    See how it's abusable?

Again; your idea is basically 'The Killer does not deserve to win, or even PLAY if I say so, because I can't win now'. It's nothing but self-serving, selfish tripe meant to deny Killers games because 'Boo-hoo. I can't win if someone DCs'. I. Me. Me, me, me. I can't win, so I should not have to play. Better yet, if I can't win; the Killer can't play! Let me vote to end the match because only my fun matters.

I will tell you what I tell everyone who cries about DC penalties, or invents horrible ideas and excuses as to why they can't comprehend anyone else in their closed, little worlds:

If you can't sit down and play through a match without looking for excuses to quit. If you can't think of others. If you can't commit to the game, win or lose, like an adult: Don't play a game that involves other human beings.

Your idea is terrible, and your counter-arguments are nothing but personal attacks and excuses as to why only Survivors matter (Because Survivors can vote to leave, even if the Killer wants to play. So screw the Killer's fun.)

all of that already discussed but people dont read, i already talked about that. why do people get into a discussion if u are not gonna read?. i will never udnerstand that, is beyond me.

Not really. All I see is 'Survivors should be able to make everyone leave if one votes to leave' which, as I said, basically vetos anyone wanting to stay.

Your idea, again, is 'Screw the Killer, because I want to ragequit if someone else ragequits, and I don't care about BP, and I don't care about anyone else's fun. So let me ragequit'

It's a b ad idea. You attacking everyone and reiterating the idea again and again does not suddenly make it better. You claiming 'I did not see any counter-arguments because Killer mains' does not magically dismiss every counter-argument that's been made.

    1. The idea can be abused by SWFs to quite & deny the Killer BP.
    2. If ONE person votes to leave, everyone is kicked? That's real fair. 🙄
    3. No. You should not get free DCs just because YOU only care about winning. The game is not all about you; there's other teammates AND the opposing side to think about.

Face it; the idea is terrible: it's easy to abuse, and it's unfair in it's design. It was made by someone biased to the point that they don't care about other players, which makes for a flawed idea. All you can see is what YOU want, evidenced by 'I don't care about BP' being your excuse for wanting to leave the match free of punishment.

Everyone has said so, and your only reply is 'Killer main'. It's clear you can't hold a proper discussion and actually talk about your idea. You just assume it's flawless because you made it, and dismiss everyone as being a 'Killer main' if they disagree with you.

    Good day, Sir or Madam.

??? makes 0 sense, what about the many games that also have a built in the feature? is not inconsolable, present me good reasonings, i havent seen one decent reason from all people who comented yet, but i cant expect much on a killer main page, should i?

the killer came to play? so you are saying survivors didnt come to play?... 0 sense, survivors came to play aswell but a dumbo decided to leave with 5 gens ######### up the rest, the balance got destroyed... stuff can be implemented with the addons and items, thats the least of the problems, when the killer dcs for example survivor at the moment are getting everything back but the offerings.

He was asking: if the Killer put in offerings, and 1 Survivors DCs, and the others vote to leave; does the Kilelr get his offering back? Do the other Survivors?

I can see this being abused by a SWF, too: Killer starts winning, Survivor #1 DCs & eats a 5 minute penalty. Survivors 2-4 vote to leave. Killer is now cheated out of his kills, BP, and items.

Basically, your idea is 'If 1 Survivor DCs, the rest should be able to veto the Killer and leave unpunished (Because there's 3 Survivors to 1 Killer. And the Killer gets nothing.'

Also, I don't know if you've noticed, but DBD is not like other games. You can't apply other game's systems to DBD. If you could, I could argue that 'Survivors should have a stamina system, because OTHER GAMES have limited sprint!'

A vote-to-leave system is too easy to abuse, and it shafts the Killer players immensely. If someone DCs; do your best, get your BP, and play the match to the end. Don't be a baby who needs to flip the table because suddenly you have a lesser chance of winning.

The only issue with this is now the killer can tell if someone has BT by trying to walk through them.

A Killer can already tell if someone has BT because instead of running, they hump the Killer's leg like a hyper puppy.

So removing collision does not really change much; the Killer knows the unhooked is enjoying BT within 0.025 seconds by how they run AT him instead of away.

  • @dugman said:

Two things I’d love to see if they’re possible would be

    • Have the server monitor movement speeds and altitudes for impossible ones. If a player moves too fast for too long or floats magically in the air then immediately automatically given them a time out and forward it to customer service for review. Looking for impossible numbers during play through movement speed validation could be a way to detect cheaters regardless of what hack they’re using to actually get those impossible results.
    • Lock aspect ratios to set values. The stretched res exploit to look over objects at loops is only possible because they use weird aspect ratios. If the game could force specific ratios, if necessary cropping or using black bars on unusual ratio monitors, then it would presumably get rid of this fairly common cheat.

I was going to say that cheaters always find a way to cheat, and they always get banned (eventually), but I like your idea.

The problem being, with 2-story maps, a cheaty player can float 'just high enough' on non-layered maps to be out of reach without being 'too high'.

I guess you could bake the checks into each map, so you could set it to be whatever is proper for the map. Plus set it for a 'too low' too IE: Going under the map. And set one for the outer edges of the map.

It's not a catch-all (It does not deal with Survivors self-unhooking infinitely or making themselves immune to being picked up, or Killers using other Killer weapons), or aimbots, but it could fix flying/noclipping & speedhacks.

Just give BT recipients no killer collision for the 12 seconds. It'd make the thing more effective while neutering emergent use.

    I agree with this.

I love when Survivors basically force a Killer to tunnel or slug or camp, then blame the Killer.

Killer: *Hooks Survivor. Turns around and sees 2 other Survivors hiding, waiting for him to walk away. Killer does not walk away.* Survivors: OMG Noob camper scrub!

Killer: *Downs someone. Sees their friend waiting nearby to flashlight or pallet save. Chases friend for 45 seconds because loops and pallets. Downs friend. Returns for first person. First Survivor had crawled to a corner of the map with Iron Will. Goes back to second survivor; same thing.* Survivors: ######### slugger! Learn 2 play!

Survivor: *Bodyblocks off the hook with BT. Hides in a locker in front of the Killer with DS. Does a gen in the Killer's face. SWFs are all the same Survivor with the same cosmetics and bring the same item. Killer waits out BT or DS, or grabs off gen. Killer hits the same Survivor twice because they all look the same.* Survivors: Stop tunneling! Noob tunneler!

And yes, all have happened to me. The 'Clone SWF' more times than I can count.
