they changed the perk because they couldn’t think about how to make it not affect vaccines for Nemesis

I'm not going to debate this, it's been suggested way too often and I'm honestly tired of going through the same arguments over and over again.
Using hook proximity to punish killers is not a good mechanic and was objectively proven to be flawed. Just look up any other thread where hook-proximity-based mechanics have been suggested.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408770#Comment_2408770
You can easily fake all that. An in-game report cannot be faked and allows the devs to do something about it.
Then why asking for those if it can be fake and so they ignore? Can’t they jest check your previouly matched players and see if the data of the video and report info is correct? (Steam used to do that when P2P and when dedicated servers came in devs said that allowed them to collect more data than before and start developing the dc penalties)

@Angelicus23 that sounds frustrating but that i give to dbd devs that i havent seen any cheaters (atleast obvious) but i play in rank 7 so dont know about red ranks
Hackers are not really that common but when you verse them it’s really frustrating specially when burning good addons and offerings, they’re lately being more popular and easier to find, they even stream freely on twitch and when they get banned they just use one of their millions alts

That's another thing: your "anti-camping" idea is really a "allow me to unhook whenever I want" idea. That's not gonna fly.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408740#Comment_2408740
If there's no in-game report, how are they supposed to find the player out of the millions of trials that are played each day? Magic? Hell, how are they supposed to know you didn't just get someone else to change their name and hack because you want another player banned?
Uhm, they ask you their steam ID for a reason and in my video their profile and link was visible

It's allowed because there's no way to prevent it that doesn't also screw over every other killer. The killer should be allowed to stop you from unhooking, that's all there is to it.
There is indeed a DC penalty in place.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408722#Comment_2408722
Blatantly false. Evidence is presented quite often, but it's overshadowed by how many people spread the myth that reports don't do anything.
I gave up on reporting in this game. After 2 months of wait reporting ingame a killer with hacked legacy I ended reporting via ticket, when 2 weeks later they took action and finally banned this individual.
I said “ok that’s it” after making a report via ticket with video evidence of hacker flying around the map and freezing me in the middle of the shack forcing me to DC and eat the penalty. During that patch, there were a lot of saving errors after finishing a match not letting ne enough time to report ingame. After sending the ticket and waiting again 2 weeks for an answer, they told me that they couldn’t do anything because I selected “no” in the question “did you report ingame too?”

list survivor perks weaker than killer perks
Now you made this discussion a survivor vs killer mains thread congrats for changing the topic.
And regarding your real thread beginning, no, not every game is a sweat fest, if you are doing mistakes survivors will take them and not give you free kills.
As you said, you only play spirit and high tier ones, maybe try to play more killers or survivor instead of the same thing over and over?
-
His chase zoning is great, zombies are extremely useful for pasive gen pressure, survivor locations and even end chases with survivors by forcing them to cross together, some of these aren't even taken in mind by killers because they either don't realise what they can do with zombies or can't check how they stop survivors from being in gens.
Another issue is that most Nemesis players want to get tier 3 asap and barely use the normal M1, I would just use the M2 when survivors vault or use pallets to stop them from getting the infection speed boost, besides short loops where they can't do anything.
He's definitely fine.
-
literally, I crashed twice on switch after the last update and gave up after that (one week of upate delay just to disable clip recordings and no improvements btw), went back to PC which is the most stable for me, I don't even wanna try ps4.
-
I believe it's a bug, is the exact same face rig as Claire
-
Yes they were hacking, also, they stacked flashlight addons with hacks because that beam range and speed wasnt normal. Report them.
-
People will always just learn from streamers and youtubers anyways
-
"I drew the line at stretched resolution"
did you even bother to check that consoles can play stretched too?
-
at that time killers prefer to go sleeping instead of sweating anymore
-
because a remake of a game is releasing, it doesn't make it a higher possibility, next chapter can always be anything
-
I don't get why people are complaining here about being back. Everyone was spamming every day here to put DC penalties back, no one was against, and now there's people against complaining
-
as the top of the twitter thread states, the person who made this mod was to gaslight stretched res and jflicks, because except him, you will never see anyone actually cheating for dumbass pink traps.
I love the modding community and the amazing artists inside. We lost a lot of things in the game. Let's not ruin our fun again by giving this kid the attention he's seeking to keep exploiting res and flicks
-
in fact we are the ones who asked for it in the first place but I rarely (but still) get crashes

BHVR uses Amazon Game Servers, which are not supported in Russia. So we are stuck with Russian players on EU-Servers.
there are definitely nearer facilities in countries near Russia, with so much better distance than what they make with Germany or UK servers
-
I'm gonna tell you why
-Your ping: every russian killer player I verse has so bad ping that they have absolute unfair advantage over the actual EU survivors, every hit will land miles away from your real location. Hit validation doesn't do anything against this. I even have better experience against NA killers since I play swf with american friends sometimes.
-Usual russian attitude: I'm not saying every russian is a toxic ######### but from the many contries killers I met around russians are usually the ones who BM or flame in chat the most in my experience since I started in 2018. I know it might sound racist and again I don't mean all russians, but I do receive mostly the bad manners from them.
EDIT: conclusion - I know it sucks but it is what it is, and I wish devs gave you the servers you deserve to play at for a better experience

You never know. And given that they said they were running into English players, I was making they assumption they may be playing on NA servers.
Granted; I don't know how servers are set up for European and other areas of the world.
Russians play in EU because devs refuse to buy them servers

@MonsterInMyMind said:
As others have said the reason for the cap is to prevent Hackers from hacking in loads of bloodpoints which would break the entire economy of the game if there even is one anymore lmao.
Hackers can already add any desired amount, I've seen myself, but that's just pointless when they can hack directly the characters' progress
The actual real reason is that "they don't want players to directly stack enough to max a character the moment it gets out" probably to keep the playerbase playing more time to grind the progress and get bored from playing them later than sooner. Still stupid since people save strategic spots of the tomes to save way a lot of points and probably devs didn't keep that in mind.

Aren't they be instadown already if they take the Plague's power hostage?

Trust me it's worse on console...last night I was running into walls in midwich as trapper, slugged a survivor and wiped my weapon and 10 seconds later the survivor was running away up the stairs, tried to break a pallet and got frozen for 15 seconds, etc.
I stuck around because there was 4 cakes and then DC just because🤬
Didnt even get my daily match since I just decided to play another game lag free.
I have a switch and there's no difference

That's unusual, iv had friends on different platforms and they usually get a bunch of bp back to relevel their characters. Usually if you provide play time or bp earned they will give you it again. Although it will take you days to respend all that bp especially of you're in the billions earned lol
I luckily didnt get any progression reset because I played Resident Evil 2 and 3 the entire weekend but friends and reddit/twitter people did
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Do you lose cosmetics? And auric cells etc.? Getting BP back usually isn't an issue when it comes to the devs they're usually pretty fair with that but as for auric cells and real money that much more of an issue
no, just the characters' progression, still they rejected to do anything
-
when people decide to play survivor again because right now there's over the double killers than survivors in some regions
-
@oxygen said:
I dunno if it's wishful thinking or what, but considering they already save a "snapshot" from a while back for people to use on the PTB, I'd imagine if someone is suddenly devotion 0 full reset and there's a PTB save file where they're devotion 7... surely they could roll back to that if everything else fails? I mean I'd certainly hope so.
they keep same devotion just every character has level 1 and no items, cosmetics are kept tho.
They have sepparated servers for data, one for live servers and other for PTB (if you're lucky to be in PC) but still ask you for proof like???
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
I'll wait until BHVR release any information regarding this. If it's a data breach, they'd have to announce it and quickly. Hearing something from a friend about it isn't enough evidence to panic, especially since this sort of story has been used previously in gaming and proven false.
If someone from the team could shed some light on here, that would be appreciated.
it takes less time to go to their twitter and make research than type what you left here

Afaik they keep track of everything, from items on the inventory to prestige levels on individual characters and the total amount of bloodpoints earned for each account. How else would they ban people for hacking this sort of stuff. There's also no way for us to backup our save files like back in the day either so it'd be pretty dumb if they didn't have something for the eventuality of this happening.
If they could save what people had before, they wouldnt have given 100M bloodpoints back in 2017 instead of backing up the old data, same still goes on today but apparently we need to save proofs 24/7

If it's not "op" then why is every single survivor using it?
you're then saying bbq and chilli is op and needs nerf because all killers use it?
-
because the players are good or have a weird name doesn't mean they're a PC swf as you can't know that
here's examples of console players I met
-
@Jerek today's PTB has a focus on that, we'll see

you mean 1:1? It doesn't make the game look fancy. Somewhat makes it look worse
Although I will say a vast majority of people who judge stretched res and haven't tried it personally get a misconception based off of seeing it on vids/stream. It looks significantly worse there, but not much different from native in terms of quality in person
Well I used stretched res myself but never went more than 1400x1080
-
@kyogul said:
Yep there are Fog Whispers with it, which gives an indirect approval that BHVR sees it as fine and not bannable
In regards to it being "cheating" and subsequently bannable: it gives an advantage in some instances, not all (i.e. not all let alone most maps; the jungle gym walls and so on are too tall generally and you can simply look upward to get a view of the killer in junk tiles in more open spaces), it's as much as cheating as uncapping your FPS, which is what a lot of pc players do which gives much more of an advantage in terms of performance.
The game was designed to be played at 60 fps maximum and it was locked that way across all platforms
And if anything, uncapping fps is the cheat since you have to edit game files to do it. Stretched res doesn't involve editing game files
I saw ps5 players saying that it feels like playing on pc with 120fps, which is the maximum you can uncap on PC
-
I would not blame people using stretched after the disaster of optimization of this chapter.
However, I do when is resolution like 1x1080 and it's not about optimization or making the game more fancy
-
it's funny because it always used to be a survivor issue because killers were leaving due to not having fun, now the tables have turned because of how unfun most killers are making the matches and you can tell every day
-
I did a full levelling thanks to saving points and the 500k gifts. From level 1 to 50 in prestige 3 I got 16 cakes on Jill.
16 cakes in 50 levels

pretty sure he meant chapter and not midchapter

That happened to me few months ago and I am no hacker. I played on ps4.
The bill came to me since the begin of the match clicking his flashlight, when I attempted to hit him every time my hits were getting "validated" and not actually downing him but he kept teleporting backwards.
Later on they spammed vaults in shack, downed and tried to pick up quentin but I got stuck in the carrying state while he was floating and able to move and heal himself.
That's only when bill would let me down him but ofc I was unable to do anything further on, forcing me to DC.
I doubt that happened to you.
Edit: this happened just 2 nights ago

People of the fog,
We’d like to give you visibility on the various tech initiatives we’re pursuing (some of which we have already pushed in the most recent update). These initiatives will help us improve on the game’s health, fix ongoing issues, and, ultimately, improve your experience.
Over the past few months, our programming team has grown significantly. This has allowed us to create small “strike teams,” each tasked with a specific undertaking: game engine update, game performance optimization, dedicated servers, etc.
Before diving into the article, however, we want you to note that our tech roadmap is ongoing; each initiative is in a state of constant evolution. We may experience major wins (hopefully very soon) like we may experience unexpected regressions. Also, it’s important to understand that some elements are not associated. For example, switching to dedicated servers won’t enhance the game performance and a pass of rendering optimization won’t necessarily reduce the lag you have when playing.
We hope this article clarifies where we’re investing our efforts.
UNREAL ENGINE
(Rollout: WINTER 2018 [2.4.0] & ONWARD)
In patch 2.4.0 (Darkness Among Us), we did a major engine update going from Unreal 4.13 to 4.20. This is a major leap that will be beneficial as it adds support for many new features (especially in audio, rendering and network optimization). We needed to update the engine to take advantage of new engine and editor features, in-engine performance and network code optimization.
Although we did notice some encouraging performance improvements, the update is causing some incompatibility issues with existing features (audio, FX). Our programmers are currently investigating these issues and it’s our top priority to fix them.
From now on, our engine updates will be more frequent and incremental. We will do our best to avoid big jumps and seek to be as up to date as possible with the latest version of Unreal 4.
OPTIMIZATION
(Rollout: SPRING 2019 & ONWARD)
Our goal is simple: improve FPS performance on all platforms. We will be doing a new pass of optimization next spring (patch tbc) and additional passes with upcoming patches after.
There are two main areas on which we are focusing the optimization efforts: gameplay and rendering.
For gameplay, we will be rewriting some features that are quite demanding on the CPU. For example, some gameplay features do constant checks (that are called “ticks”) to advance the gameplay simulation. These ticks take a toll on the process since many of them happen every single frame, even when it is not necessary to do so. It’s the difference between having an alarm clock set up or checking your watch all the time to see if it's time to get out of bed. We are working on getting that alarm clock. We want the CPU to work less but still reach the same end result. We will thus be converting a lot of existing code from blueprint scripting to C++ to achieve this. For rendering, we are determining the bottlenecks that can be causing slowdowns on the GPU. We will tackle these bottlenecks by rewriting better algorithms and creating more efficient assets (VFX, mesh, textures, shaders). While we’re always looking at specific elements which are causing a decrease in framerate (killer or map specific issue for example), our biggest focus right now is on improving the baseline performance. The benefits will be smaller but will apply to all gameplay circumstances.
DEDICATED SERVERS
(Rollout: SUMMER 2019 & ONWARD)
As announced at the Game Awards, dedicated servers are coming to Dead by Daylight with a target release of summer 2019. This will ensure a more reliable connection and a safer network environment. It's also a good timing for us to optimize the network bandwidth of the game which will help when we switch to dedicated servers.
AN ONGOING PROCESS
We hope this blog post clarifies our tech roadmap for the upcoming year. This is of upmost priority for us and as you can see, we have a lot of initiatives to ensure a solid infrastructure for the years to come. Of course, this is an iterative process and there might some regressions at times. We are dedicated to Dead by Daylight and your passion drives us to keep pushing forward. Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and feedback. Thank you for your patience.
-
ok guys let me explain, so the game is dying because this guy played poorly for 2 minutes ending to DC after raging for a missed shot even tho he already had a decent 2k
-
@Joshtron said:
Given that I'm not the best killer, probably not even decent, I do feel that the performance is what's hindering my gameplay a lot of the time.
I know that the Switch isn't on par with last gen consoles, but a smooth gaming experience should be mandatory, otherwise it's pointless to have the game on this platform. Clearly there are devs who want to make the game better. Give them the resources they need, please.
It's a shame how Doom Eternal runs infinitely better than a goddamn hide and seek 4v1 game
