I may be able to answer this one
So, during the whole Apple vs Epic debauche they had to show some legal contracts, and in them it was revealed that Epic pays Microsoft and Sony the equivalent of what is purchased on another device which has the progress linked to that device. For example, if I buy some VBucks on Switch, on an account linked to my PC, PS4, and Xbox, then Microsoft and Sony take profit too based upon what was sold. Perhaps the rates were too high for BHVR, or they simply didn't want to pay those rates, and so they couldn't reach an agreement.
Thanks then!

12 ping vs 60 ping and i got hit validated.
Explain that one beyond it being survivor client determined.
it is easy just to tell me that situation without showing clips of your ping and the survivor's in that second, you could have any kind of lag spike on your end, but here you have a full post explaining it perfectly:
even devs explained themselves with images made for kids how the system works, please drop the entitled attitude

In a way, it is transparent but we would love to have the reason as to WHY Microsoft or Sony won't, personnaly, I do believe the Microsoft would be alright with Cross-Progression
many other games are still allowing crossprogression between all platforms, like fortnite, why not dbd?

@Zozzy said:
It isn't a bug. They "made the server" determine the hit and totally not the survivors client /s
TLDR survivors have cried about pallet hits (without understanding how they work) for years and bhvr finally gave them the advantage.
the only advantage it gives is for the one with better ping, regardless if it's the killer or the survivor, because laggy killers were able to hit even seconds after the pallet is dropped. It now is fair, laggy survivors aren't getting any kind of advantage.

I'm on PS4,so my bloodweb,menus etc. are always sluggish/laggy
oh I play on PC most of the time, but I'm not playing until late night because I'm meeting friends after work, if u want add me on discord and I can take a clip for you Angeloloo#2003

Killers who don't know about the exploit can't get there and it makes the survivors who do know how to perform it virtually invulnerable. It's an exploit by any other game's definition.
I literally figured out how to climb it seconds after seeing the 4 of them chilling it isn't even hard. Call it an exploit,mald about it, it's not banable

I love this logic. So using cheating software is not cheating too because both survivors and killers can install it?
you can ask that to the mods who said it's fine not me. This isn't an exploit, the gameplay is the same, and is not unfair for anyone
if you're really comparing hacking to climb a rock dont even bother to quote me lol

cheating? no not it the most litteral sense. however it is an exploit, and i believe it is bannable.
they said up there mods confirmed it's not banable
and as both sides can do it and doesn't break the normal gameplay, it's not an exploit either
-
you know, when you finish a match and you go back to your lobby, at the bloodweb, personalisation, loadout menus, if you leave on your cursor you will see the UI faster (the colored fog) happens with the bloodweb too, u can buy things faster
-
at least we have the UI speed bug that happens after every match when going back to the lobby, helps to lvl up a lot
-
you're able to play the perks you want, you shouldn't be able to decide what others can play or or not anymore with just because you feel bored for it
-
it's not cheating, both sides can do it, did myself as legion, it's pretty fun

JUST WHAT DID THAT ACCOMPLISH!?
you know people copy pasting legacy to other cosmetics for their own screen not hurting anyone was a clear offense and gamebreaking exploit
-
dead hard isn't op, just annoying, never was so hated before
wait until there are no good perks left and people complain enough to get deja vu nerfed

The way you said 0 is to big a number for how many spirits, implies anyone playing spirit is a problem.
Therefore I replied explaining how if your losing to every spirit then it's probably a you problem (probably, but there's a chance your luck is #########) and that you should get better
I replied to your hyperbole with hyperbole. Saying how I've seen quite a few (this is just recently) newbie spirits or chill spirits. Mostly new, but a few chill. I then used hyperbole saying it was almost all (id say 70% new/chill, 30% tryhard mains).
Yes I indeed imply that because anyone using their ears and spending a few matches with her can perfectly become a master killer no matter how bad the player was

It is, but they don't ban for it yet
sorry for the big comment but assuming people can get banned on a videogame for using a different resolution is one of the dumbest premonitions I've ever read, that literally would kill the 70% of the playerbase from any game

I'm not saying your experience is fake, you could find sweaty spirits (I'm not saying they don't exist).
But to act as if every spirit game is a sweaty spirit main which you can't do anything against is just a lie.
And if somehow, you are only facing sweaty spirits that you can't do anything, then your either super unlucky or just need to play some more until you find out how to play against mindgames. Because majority of spirits aren't spirit mains, so you can do things against them.
I literally said there are little few cases of baby new spirits, never said every game I get is bad

In a recent live stream with Dowesy he said that BHVR considers Stretched Res an exploit and they might ban it in the future, they also asked a fog whisperer to remove it and they refused so they left the fog whisperer program on there own accord.
So my question is, Is Stretched Resolution cheating? and will people get banned for it?
That one fog whisperer always played with stretched resolution and left himself the program.
BHVR never stated an official word about stretched res. If they thought it was a game threat, they literally can block it with a few code lines, but for now since always, they left a camera lock so you can't look too down and be able to see what you should see with native too.
It is an exploit? Yes. Is it cheating? Subjective
There are a lot of opinions and comparisions only favoring the personal opinion for both sides. Honestly I'm not a stretched user, my PC runs the game fine and I don't have visual issues, but I do not care about stretched since long ago. People forget that 7/10 survivors they kill probably were using stretched but they get triggered and jumpscared by any resolution with the slightest pixel difference below native on anyone's stream or clip not even concerning a match they had together.
If u wanna know the story, people didn't begin using stretched just for dbd. Literally most classic Counter Strike players are using stretched every day since years ago for every game either because of slight fov change or the different stretchy look. So yeah, since 2016, and never started for unfair reasons.

It's more to make people think and for me to vent, I suppose.
I've been getting a lot of threats and I lost another router just recently, so I was hoping that by playing in a nice way, maybe I wouldn't get ######### with constantly.
doesn't really answers my comment but hope you're keeping in mind you're supposed to produce good content and not let toxicity influence watchers by simply dodging it the sooner possible

Spirit when not played optimally is fine, same as swf. I've seen many spirit players that are either a) bad or b) relaxed. They may play a busted champ but they don't hardcore play her or main her to the point where she is busted.
The spirits you need to worry about are the minority. They're the ones who judge distances perfectly, know when to fake a phase and not to. What are the best loops to phase rather than brute force. That sort of thing. You don't see these spirits as often as you'd like to believe. Sorry, but that's the harsh truth.
Apparently my entire experiece over the 3 years with red rank spirits was all fake because of your comment damn.
I'm sorry but besides the very rare times I have versed baby spirits who recently bought the killer all the rest were unfun sweaty asses
-
Just play your way, like you don't have to waste your time on anyone.
Yes it could have been or not a bad game for that person but after you said gg and they replied badly I would have then simply ignored or blocked and went to the next match.
If I was streaming a game for my viewers, a bad mood chat isn't entertaining for anyone and just motivates dumbasses to keep saying TTVs are toxic asses, I don't think spending time on a chat with those people or dedicate them a full forum post would be even satisfying for myself knowing that a question like the title won't be replied with an actual propper answer because there's none.
Just don't give attention to kiddos like that because then they will keep on the same attitude, press Y and play the next one for your stream.
-
the number isn't 0 yet so that's still too many spirits
-
as someone who experienced many things and met a lot of interesting people in this game and talked with them post game I can assure you BHVR did not have the fault here, but the survivor forced you to grab them to perform an illegal tech. Keep in mind that one survivor wasn't the person who performed the cheat, but they could have been in swf
Here Quentin did nothing wrong, but Bill was a lagswitcher I couldn't pick up and also he made quentin bug me, Quentin could do normal actions while flying and I was stuck like this. This happened exactly 2 months ago.

They... could just take the time to look at their achievements? If they really cared, they could've had people who had Legacy fill out an application, then the mods go through and check their Prestige Achievements. If they had the Achievements, they could've picked which character they wanted Prestige (it wouldn't be ALL of their Legacy, but at least they'd get one back).
they could have used SAM

@The_Krapper said:
Honestly I wouldn't mind if they brought something similar to legacy out but I think it should stay the way it is, it's a trademark to players like myself who were here from the very beginning and stuck through the rough times as the game was growing
they brang the first hallowed skins in 2018 because console players wanted legacy too

Rainbow Demo?
I need to see this.
As for the topic, if they added Legacy-esque textures to post-Legacy characters, it defeats the entire point of Legacy items.
I think you're looking for these

I was missing 3 outfits from steve to get all st cosmetics so that’s great for me, only sad thing is that Demo will become at some point the rarest killer of the game and that’s sad because he’s one of the most fun to go against

Bruce Williams playing Ash’s voice was a miracle but you can’t expect any license using the real actor’s voice as every single other character voice is played by a bhvr dev

I was excited but I literally can't feel by any way I'm playing Resident Evil characters because Jill and Leon are like every survivor with voices that don't belong to them and Nemesis feels kinda weak (compared to the RE3 game)

You'll forgive me if I'm skeptical that you can know how an algorithm you have no access to works.
The devs have been collecting kill rates for years now. That information was always being gathered, it's not related to MMR.
That's not what I told you. You collect or lose points depending on how the match went and the killer you went against. Those points are saved to yourself not the general stats they show on streams
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2416121#Comment_2416121
That'd be quite something, given that MMR is completely server-side.
it's server sided and you can check the stats associated with your client after updating each one, anyone who studied high TIC level might be aware of these programs and regularly use them on their PCs to track their own connections and cookies
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2416117#Comment_2416117
I wasn't aware that they'd made the algorithm public. Where did you get this information?
it's not public but checkable by your own client with normal progams, not against the EULA
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2416107#Comment_2416107
I'm pretty sure at least one killer had their power completely redesigned in that time. Since MMR is going to be killer-specific, it'd need to be adapted.
the system does not work like that. It's simple:
You die a lot to x killer?
Your past matches have been optimal from your side?
That's all, and I can assure you I saw myself how those points works and why Hillbilly has been bugged the past 3 tests with the same mistake every time
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2416090#Comment_2416090
It's a complex system, it's going to take some time. The game also had several changes in those years, so the system also had to be changed.
The general changes of the game does not influence by any instance the matchmaking system
-
@Munqaxus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/271654/just-admit-it-doesnt-work
You never get something right the first time, it takes trail and error to get something right. MMR has worked successfully in other games and will work successfully in this game unless the Devs take your advice and just give up.
"first time" its development has started almost 2 years ago in 2 months and there has been several tests and data collecting over the months
-
it will be candyman or springtrap this time they have to be
-
you got your 3 kills already you won too, it's a match you're gonna forget in 2 minutes and doesn't even happen commonly
-
I don't get the hate for self care over salty survivors damn, they can't accept that it's the best slowdown perk, killers can't enjoy anything nowadays
-
you forgot the free cells and discount bundles
-
@Pilot said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408863#Comment_2408863
That's one theory.
Can't they just make a blacklist/whitelist of items for the perk to not affect vaccines?
Also, I can't even imagine whenever you would face Nemesis, he would have Franklin's on. Would make the killer 5x more fun for the survivor.
It’s not a theory, they confirmed it after the patch launch
-
Either your internet said bye or the platform’s servers were down for a bit, but I know the many things hackers can do and that isn’t one of the things, the max they can do is forcing a match to end but not kick a player to the main screen
