Just rework hexes as a whole already!

    How would you do that?

  • Maybe find some other people in a similar situation and rotate roles in kyf? Might be better than going straight into public games where rank 20 killers can be matched with survivors who've played since day of release

  • @Midori_21 said:

I'm consistently in red ranks and my rank, pipping, and/or escaping are the last things on my mind when I'm playing survivor: I just play to have fun. Honestly most of my teammates probably end up thinking "What is that other person doing?" referring to me, of course. I f around most of the time just for the lolz, and if that means suicide bombing a hook (injured save without borrowed time) after the exit gates are open just in an effort to get my last we're gonna farm forever stack, so be it. I'm having fun, I had fun, and that's all that matters to me.

One code I do try to live by with dbd is, "I don't care. Healed or no, perks or no, no man gets left behind." Which most of the time leads to me and only my dying at the end of the match, which I'm fine with. If the killer only got me and nobody else, after I screwed around the whole time, who's the real winner?

Funnily enough, in most of my games even if I'm just being super altruistic, constantly trying for flashlight saves, we still get down to 1 gen left at the end. And I can say "We would've had em' all done and been able to escape, if I cared at all about escaping."

I love dying for the others. Especially being the only one dead and having the most points 💜

  • Gen speeds can be ridiculous especially these days, I'm expecting to see one get done in the lobby any day now.

But addonless wraith with no gen perks is gonna be extra tough if they're very gen focused, no matter how quick they're dropping

  • I've seen plenty of DCs from playing both sides since 2018. Obviously if you have a game-breaking bug, an IRL emergency, a hacker etc dc away.

I don't approve of people dc'ing for being camped, or tunnelled, or getting haddonfield or a team of dicks as a lie rank killer - although I get it

But the vast majority of DC's are none of these things. Most on survivor side come after being downed once, most on killer side come from not being able to catch anyone.

Also I've had the same HUD bug, but only like two or three times ever. If you don't dc otherwise then 5 minutes isn't so bad, even if it is annoying. When I've had it I just do totems and harass the killer, non-skillcheck stuff.

  • I've played dbd while pretty drunk before, I'm not sure how it affects my performance. But probably not very well? Especially as if I've been drinking it's more likely to be late at night so the survivors are on hardcore mode, and I'm more likely to try killers I'm terribad with.

I'll leave it at alcohol because forum rules and the slight bit of discretion I have left.

  • I mean if the only effect was the BP I would use it just as often. If its only effect was the aura reading, I would ditch it for tremors instantly

  • Once I have all 3 on one killer I will be putting on undying, TOTH and haunted grounds all at once. May God have mercy on my soul.

This Freddy did waste a lot of time scattering bloody puddles everywhere instead of quickly rushing to a gen and then the Claudette outplayed at the beginning wasting a lot of time. An honest misread on the killer's part, just saying if the killer got the first down quicker I bet the game would have ended a lot differently with 1 or 2 kills at least.

I don't envy the devs in trying to balance an asymmetrical game because you can't fix these extremes without ruining the game for everyone else. It's both unfair that a SWF can coordinate a genrush so perfectly and at the same also unfair that a good killer with OP perks and addons can decimate every team except the one we saw here. Both sides can be overpowered, but it is easier to be overpowered on the killer side because you are only one person.

That comment actually sounded pretty unbiased, are you feeling ok?

  • Spirit - short cooldown, extremely lethal power, no punishment for using her power, can't see blood, basic attacks don't affect cooldown, excellent addons

Legion - long cooldown, extremely non-lethal power, punished for using your power badly, punished for using your power at all, can't see blood or scratchmarks, basic attacks make the cooldown longer, addon dependent even though half the addons essentially do nothing

Bhvr: yes but the kill rates

If legion was a new killer and you explained nothing but their limitations people would assume their power was something completely insane, like making nurse, spirit, hag etc look like complete crap.

The reality being that all interest in any killer is lost a few months after their release as they rush into the nee exciting release. If there's any serious issues they can have a rework or update a few years down the line.

BUT someone please explain to me what the reason behind being body blocked across the entirety of the exit gate by a survivor does for anyone either than get them killed. Like ? If you're blocking the exit INSIDE the gate from other survivors please tell me what it gets you? I'd love to know

The entire gate? Must be a chonky survivor

  • Iri head is dumb af and I can't wait til it's gone, an opinion which probably means I'll have to register as a survivor main. I'll sign my name in the book now and get it over with.

I love going against huntress but there's always that sinking feeling when you realise she's not aiming a hatchet at you yet she's just getting nearer...and nearer...is she trying to give you a kiss on the back of your head or something? Oh God you can smell the borscht on her breath...

And then she misses anyway because no-one with even the slightest competence with huntress runs iri head. But there's still two more beachballs to go 🔴🔴

I agree he doesn´t exactly need them for most matches. Idk, I´m just disappointed that they went to town on him on several levels, namely addons, base mechanics, fun (FOV, bobbling, roar) and gave him basically nothing to compensate.

I´m unironically glad you can still enjoy him, apparently that´s a remarkably rare occurence among Billy players.

I like that they gave him some stealth options with the addons, scared the crap out of me going against muffler/tinkerer. But I rarely see regular billy anymore so that's an even rarer occurrence

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Might be placebo, but against killers like Spirit, Deathslinger, Freddy and Pyramid Head, 4 competent survivors will know not to engage in a chase and just rush gens as fast as they possibly can because they don't want to be in a match with these killers any longer than they have to be. And since these killers are pretty popular right now gens are probably gonna be going faster. There's no fun or point in getting chased by these killers so it's best to just do gens and get out with some BPs.

And by the time you finish the 4th gen and realise it's a wraith it's too late to turn back 😔

  • I like gifting green keys to the most useless teammate

  • I've ran this on spirit and doc but you don't need bitter murmur, MYC or dead man's switch both work well as a 4th

  • God you lot are exhausting

    Killer good, survivor bad

    No! Survivor good, killer bad

  • I think if I break him out of stealth I should be able to mori him.

(I'm not really a GF fan)

  • God it's irritating when any discussion of legion's many anti-fun mechanics for those playing as or against them is countered with kill rate stats. Honestly I'd take a nerf in return for not essentially eating a DS every time I use my often-useless power.

  • I don't mind it so much. I just run small game all the time now and do every totem I see. Yeah it'd be nice and more manageable if my teammates also joined in but I'm used to being the designated totem smasher.

I'm not too sure about the aura reading though, especially on dulls.

Also DS/UB may be worse but it's still whataboutism to bring it up out of context. You can discuss one thing people have issues with without having to discuss a different thing at the same time.

  • What about doc pallets?

  • If object is nerfed first, then yes

  • Sounds good to me as long as survivors can grab victor out of charlotte's chest just to punch him

Same here. I think the myth of getting either Forever Freddy or Yakuyoke/MDR/Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer+Stridor Spirit with 5000hrs is about as legit as Killers complaining they get tournament squads every other game.

I actually had one of each of those today 😄 ruin/undying/tinkerer/sloppy with paintbrush + swing chains freddo got a 1k, ruin/undying/stridor/forgotten the 4th perk spirit got 2k including me and was pretty shocked that was all she got (but was a good sport about it) I might've lived too if I didn't respond to her fake phasing by resetting a pallet

Weirdest thing about that match was how nice everyone was to each other in postgame considering what the spirit was running and my teammates rocking ds/unbreakable, always good to see

  • @Sluzzy said:

The killrates are way too high. Games are unwinnable for anything less than a seasoned 4 man SWAT formation.

Speak for yourself, I play solo with joke perks and I escape plenty.

  • @Almo said:

Please rate your matches. I've already done a few studies that included these data.

Should we use it to comment on how fun the other player(s) were to face, or what we think of the killer/perks/add-ons etc?

  • Apart from being nonsense in general this completely ignores disparities in how many points different killers get. You won't get 30k with pig unless you're constantly using the dash attack which is a pretty dumb way to play her.

  • Correct use of self-care - use very sparingly if at all if there's a situation where you genuinely need to not be injured, although inner strength is even better for this

Usual use of self care - run like the wind after getting unhooked towards the corner of the map and evading the rescuer with we'll make it , possibly running straight into the killer en route

  • Stop matching new killers with experienced players. They say it's so that new players are guaranteed to get a match but I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of new killers would prefer some wait time rather than being instantly thrown into a game with four reds.

Balance survivor perks in the same way killer perks are - i.e. perks used constantly are nerfed, strong synergies are nerfed, underwhelming perks are buffed. So like ruin was extremely popular, pop got buffed, then ruin and pop were ran together, ruin got nerfed (and synergy with pop removed), then corrupt with pop became popular, pop got nerfed, ruin undying is the current thing which will also be nerfed at some point then it'll be something else - which is fine but survivors have been running the same perks they have for years so it's time to shake it up a bit.

Multiple gens going off when you get your first (relatively quick) down is ridiculous, I don't want to just increase gen speeds bc doing gens is boring enough already but something that isn't just yet another band-aid perk fix would be nice. Might need some trade off so survivor escape rates don't just massively drop, but I'd be fine with that

  • It's been long enough that it'll probably go the same way as the disconnection husks, early game warmup and console optimisation

  • Cringeslinger probably.

Honourable mentions go to freddy and hag/plague but the latter two are teammates not knowing how to respond to them and killing us all

  • I always thought the phasing was heard within what her terror radius would be but someone said on here recently it's fixed at 24 metres, so idk.

  • It's because if they can't say the only reason you won is because you chose an OP killer, perks, add-ons or offerings, then the only option left is accusing you of...putting in too much effort

  • When blight gets the inevitable cosmetic that features a him wearing a kilt with a broken-off piece of bagpipe for a weapon he'll rush into S♾️ tier quicker than it takes him to traverse shelter woods

  • Someone being pulled out of a locker 20 secs into the match

  • Not just a nerf to flip flop but breakout as well, which would make me sad even if no one else uses it.

  • "while PC players patiently wait for someone to rescue." (Citation needed)

  • I had a ridiculous match this week. One gen got done so quickly the counter didn't go down and stayed at 5, found and chased a nea, the chase didn't take too long but slightly longer than I'd've liked, when I got her downed another two had gone, hooked her and number 4 went at the same time.

The even stupider thing was that I got a 3k getting them all at the exit gate, no one got more than 15k bp and pretty sure everyone depipped.

I didn't even say anything apart from gg, the nea had plenty to say about genrush and the value of teammates who smash gens and nothing else and die anyway, it was a fun read. I generally blame the game rather than the survivors for matches like that, but does anyone actually enjoy playing like this?

And I know someone will say "you still got a 3k" but I genuinely would rather have an interactive match where I ultimately lose instead of downing survivors I meet for the first time by the exit gates

Mobile is lacking in all killers. We don't yet have Freddy, Blight, Deathslinger, or Twins.

Playing blight on mobile sounds like an ordeal tbh

  • Object - duh

For a different reason, monstrous shrine for killers - pure bloodweb pollution that refuses to stop appearing until I give in and just take it

  • @Brhoom said:

Silly hacks like flying and instant heal don't bother me as much as the more subtle ones.

Spirit and Trapper that knew where we were the whole time. I had distortion on and a stack was consumed, meaning my aura and scratch mark were not visible. She phased right into my spot where there were no gens.

Trapper didn't even try to hide it as much.

Yeah if EAC isn't detecting killers that can fly and use other killer powers it makes you wonder how many more things people get away with, like slightly increasing movement but not to a level most others would notice.

  • Nah, I like mostly not running exhaustion perks, bc then when I do put one on it feels amazing. Less so with lithe or SB, because I forget I have it, trigger it and crash into a tree at 500 mph (megs per hour)

  • I haven't played twins but plague is fun altho can be a bit janky with dedicated servers, also gens always fly when playing her bc no conventional healing at all, so you have to be aggressive + ruthless.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Plague, Demo, Billy and Blight. And it's a damn shame too, I love all 4 of these killers and I'd much rather play against them than the stream of Spirit, Deathslinger and Pyramid Heads that make me want to never play survivor again. I do see quite a few Bubbas though, those are always fun, especially when it's a good Bubba that knows how to properly zone and mindgame with the chainsaw.

I've been getting more blights but barely see PH on my end

  • I play plague pretty often. If you think survivors would be happy to see a killer that isn't picked often, I can assure you they generally aren't (although as a hag main you probably know that)

  • @Freki said:

though i'm happy others are getting this, this makes me feel like a tool because I actually went and watched a fog whisperer to get the code and got it and it wasn't hard. people are being lazy and don't want to do something to get it. IF YOU ALREADY GOT THE CAKE FROM A FOGWHISPERER IT IS THE SAME THING FOR THIS CODE YOU WILL NOT GET ANYTHING!

sigh why is it that people are not trying to actually do something and enjoy the small bit of legwork needed. hell I got mine entered while I was playing FF14 as well

Counterpoint: having to watch the game instead of playing the game to unlock things is dumb

It is only if he farmed the survivor without bt in killer's face. If the survivor unhooks outside the tr and the killer decides to come back to the hook (which is 7 seconds of time) that's the killer's choice of wasting 7 seconds to come back to the hook when he went already away. And if someone is willing to waste that time just to go back to the hook, do you really think that even if the unhooker is gonna protect the unhooked survivors that killer won't try to down the unhooked anyway?

From what I've seen some will go for the unhooker, some for the first survivor they notice, some will go straight for the unhooked but after I get in their way and take a hit they change their mind, and some will still still go for the unhooked survivor after I do that in which case I tried at least, enjoy the DS
