When i play killer unless a survivor farms another one in front of my eyes i will always go where bbq tells me and this is not playing by survivors rule or playing fair that is the way you have to apply pressure and thus being able to win the game. If someone comes back to the hook he either wants to tunnel or he's playing poorly.

So yeah everyone can play however he wants but going back to the hook (maybe halfway across the map) and pretending to be blind not seeing anyone else other than the freshly unhooked survivor is quite funny.

As i said this video smells more like "lets add another ds requirement over the thousands that are being already asked on forums"

Survivor induced tunneling is something that was really missing in this community, feels like wealth-induced theft

There's plenty of good reasons to go back to the hook. There's an almost completed gen there, all uncompleted gens are around there, you've barely taken 10 steps etc. Obviously if you see other survivors working on a gen and you're most of the way there turning back is ridiculous, but it isn't always.

Anyway you didn't really answer the question, if a killer -does- come back does the unhooker have any responsibility for what happens to you afterwards or should they just stealth off into the night and leave you to deal with it?

    Dumb Tech.

The only reason I do it is if I have a challenge to stun the killer or drop X pallets. So I make sure he doesn't have Enduring, equip Lithe + Dance With Me + Any Means Necessary and proceed to dumb tech and hide so I can reset the pallet and use it again later without wasting resources for the team.

I just put on a hawkins offering, no one cares if you waste those pallets

  • be not afraid

    20201225005007_1.jpg

Look I agreed to this match here despite a sense of impending doom and honestly it was fine. No lingering trauma that I can detect as of yet. The really anti-fun squads rarely announce themselves so openly, trying to predict the outcome of a match based on cosmetics, usernames, or number of globe icons is generally a fool's errand.

  • People confuse things being annoying with being overpowered a lot especially when it comes to doc. He counters newer survivors pretty easily but if you don't rely on stealth, don't camp pallets and can hit skillchecks he's just a killer with no mobility and no lethal power. You can even snap out of it without having to hit skillchecks if you know the timing.

I'm not a great survivor by any means but I often go a while without getting any madness at all bc I used to play him a lot and pay attention for when they like to use the blast (if you don't have time to get into a locker slowly when it's coming just rush in, he'll know where you are anyway but you avoid tiering up)

  • @Freddy96 said:

Wait isn't stealth how everyone was supposed to play? And when it comes to so called teammate-induced tunneling is ds still unfair or not?

Also will we see killer-induced genrush video too?

Okay so you're on the hook, you don't have iron will, off the record or DS. A healthy teammate who hasn't been hooked yet unhooks you and sneaks off behind a rock when their spine chill goes off. The killer comes back, sees + hears no one else but a loud meg leaving blood everywhere, downs and possibly rehooks you.

Who do you blame for that happening in that scenario, the killer or the survivor?

  • Idk, I had one of those yesterday and I didn't tunnel him or anything, he wasn't even the first one dead. If it's meant to be a protest aimed at the killer or teammates it's not a very good one bc we're not the ones losing anything.

My game has genuinely crashed when I've been slung on death hook a couple of times for some reason? So maybe sometimes it's that but it's probably mostly just being a sore loser.

  • "And what's the difference between a 4man deathsquad and an infectious slugging nurse or a ruin undying blight?"

Well if MMR comes back and actually works these lot should hopefully face off against each other and spare the rest of us.

  • There's the pink one, then the white one which I guess is the antidote seems to make the pink disperse before creating an orange mess

    So my guess is

    pink = as before

    Orange = damage

This makes sense with the leaked addon being one of the "challenge" addons that removes your new bottle effect, making him basically old clown. The orange fog is clearly the one you want.

    Intimidation.

It suggests you are so invested in the killer, they shouldn't try to bully you.

Although I have cosmetics on the Oni, and I can't do anything useful with him.

The reverse works too, like how survivors use default cosmetics to bamboozle the killer (or just to actually get a match). They'll often get noticeably more cocky.

  • I was a European killer until brexit, dunno what continent I belong to now. Antarctica?

    @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, its mostly Russians who create such situations. And often they play Huntress, either because she is a Russian Character or because they know that their high Ping will help them... who knows.

The thing is, BHVR is using Amazon Game Servers, those are not supported in Russia. And since Russians get connected to EU-Servers, they will have a high Ping, this is not avoidable. And there are a lot of Russians in my games, just two days ago I got grabbed by a Nurse from a Gen, even if I already let go of it. I knew she had Tinkerer so I stopped working on it once she arrived at the Jungle Gym where the Gen was located, still I got grabbed despite letting go of the Gen.

Also I face way less players from my Region, before Dedicated Servers I faced some Streamers on a daily basis, but now, even if they are still playing at the same time, I have not been against them for months. So there are players and Killers playing from Europe, but the number of Russians is so high that you will more likely face a Russian Killer than a European Killer.

But as I said, as long as Amazon Game Servers are not supported in Russia, there will be no Russian Server.

What's the point of the new hit validation then if that stuff still happens?

  • Abandoned theme park πŸ™

  • Controller for surv + kbm for killer

  • Yeah that's just unpleasant + unnecessary. I slug quite a lot but doing it for longer than necessary and faking giving hatch or door is a dick move.

The exception being standing on the hatch cloaked as wraith then kicking it shut when they're moments away, which is comedy gold

  • Prob either alt accounts or they haven't played for a few months so their ranks have reset multiple times.

  • Damn, I hope you reported her.

They should make her teabag you as well, just to mess with new players even more and/or gently introduce them to what their future holds

The small PP build goes both ways.

Undying+Ruin+Tinker is much more small PP than any survivor perk combo.

And I am a killer main saying this lol

I'm not really a fan of either but by all means turn ds/unbreakable into hex perks :P

I hope they leave it, but they seem to really dislike high skill cap killers in recent years. They thought Billy needed an overheat. Deep, mechanical, and powerful killers that require a significant time investment but are ultimately rewarding? Nah bro. Dream snares. Much interesting. Much fun. Incredibly interactive for all parties.

You mean you didn't also want to see billy less and freddy more? I'm starting to consider offing myself on hook every time I go against a non-freddy now. I just think where are the dream snares? The slowdown addons? The subtle beauty of the dreamworld itself? The thrill of working on a gen knowing he has tinkerer and pop? Where is the thrilling gameplay that I crave so dearly?

  • It's near the end of an especially grindy rift so probably farming xp.

English is probably a second language. After living abroad and butchering the language of where we lived... I have a greater appreciation for people who speak more than 1 language. It isn't easy, and we shouldn't snark them for it

Oh I didn't mean it like that I constantly mangle my secondary languages - and also my first - meant more it had a very excited feel to it overall.

omg thank you thank you thank you for enriching me, I completely forgot to write that I am 10-20cm away from the people, but then you come I am so happy that you are here and enrich me omg THANK YOU!

STOP WAIT, I wrote it in and the question is why there are no hits on it but meters wide hits are on it? RICHTIG depends on the ping that is UNJUST and I WANT JUSTICE FOR EVERYONE. Either the hits are always meters away for every player or it is about cm, "whoever has a good ping is punished and whoever has a bad ping is rewarded"

I'm sorry, but I would like to know how I can show my appreciation ... except for thank you I can unfortunately not offer

THX THX THX THX THX THX

Dude your writing style is very jarring, how many cans of monster did you down before posting?

  • You gonna share the video? I want something heartwarming on in the background while I'm preparing dinner

  • I like the insidious + dragon's grip gen camping idea. I don't get the myc thing? It's not even terror radius based. And I think the mori nerf will lead to anyone doing that, except yourself ofc

  • Idk, maybe not the easiest killer onto learn but pretty easy with very high reward. You get to actually separate the good spirits from the bad in matches without her running stridor and with multiple survivors running iron will - either it doesn't seem to make much difference at all or the spirit falls apart completely.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

Moris artificially inflated killers win ratio statistics. Now that they have effectively been removed from the game we have have to earn those wins using skill and strategy. We will now win fewer games, but at least the wins will be deserved. If the devs look at the post Mori-nerf statstics, they can look at rebalancing without one of the free win elements confusing matters.

Hopefully SWFs exploiting their 60 seconds of immortality perk will be addressed next.

And dailies/challenges that require you to kill x survivors by your own hand now resemble something akin to a challenge πŸ‘

  • If you want to be a "well-mannered killer" as you put it you still need to strike a balance. You can't be excessively nice all the time, and even if you are, you'll get told off sometimes anyway.

"I just figured if she's going to have the audacity to try to jump off right then, then I'm justified in observing her."

    You are, yes.

"I am able to find her very easily and I hook her again. I start looking in nearby lockers for her rescuer. She gets rescued again while I'm checking lockers. I'm able to down her and start carrying her to a hook"

This is on her teammates, first for recuing her then hiding, then for farming her, although they at least came to her rescue at the end. What you did wasn't "wrong" but hooking the same survivor repeatedly will likely get you told off in endgame chat (although nothing that happens in-game justifies being called horrible crap in endgame chat) If you're new you might not be aware of a popular survivor perk called decisive strike or DS, which you'll see a lot more of with higher ranks survivors which will punish this a lot too, trying to hook a recently unhooked survivor will free them and hit you with a five second stun. If a survivor is unhooked near you, it's often better to just down them, leave them there a look the other one (survivors don't like this either, but they don't hate it as much as being repeatedly hooked)

as for endgame chat, you can ignore it completely and always keep it minimised, or participate and just say gg and leave if they're salty. Report if they start getting really nasty. Try and be "gracious in defeat, humble in victory" as someone on here put it. The salty ones want to get into a screaming match with you, but there's no need unless you particularly enjoy that.

  • Rework - clown + legion

    Buffs - trapper + wraith

Slight buffs - pig, myers, demo

Slight nerfs - freddy + spirit

Addon changes - huntress, clown, legion, pig, demo, myers, PH, billy, hag

Bugfixes & jank reduction - myers, plague, nurse, billy, GF

Idk lol - slinger and twins

Firecracker. I just find them to be fun. It's hilarious to accidentally blind yourself or swf teammate.

Also fun purposely blinding yourself and teammates 😈

  • They should either make him weaker (and still easy to play) or more difficult (and still strong). The latter would be better imo

Snares + pallets should be like demo portals, you don't get them back, they deactivate for a while after being triggered then come back. Would actually be nicer for trapping places like killer shack and punish mindlessly flinging snares all around one pallet loop.

Teleportation cooldown should start off low, but get slightly longer each time used, so still highly mobile but worth considering if you actually want to use it whenever it's available. Cooldown reduction addons would also feel more useful.

Slowdown add-ons can go and be replaced with more interesting things. I.e. one let's you teleport right at the start of the match, one lets you teleport between exit gates etc

  • The speed reduction doesn't sound too extreme in theory but you have to consider how far in can go in practice. Think sabo swf + indoor map offering + all with boil over/breakout. It would be obnoxious af

I'm sorry but comparing the chemical addiction of drugs to a game is not really right.

Uninstalling it immediately creates a barrier before you can boot it up again and unlike drugs you can play other games to crave your addiction that don't have a negative impact

This year wasen't the best but one thing we didn't have was a lack of good games.

If anything if it feels like drugs to you it's like 17 alarm bells that you've been ignoring for 3 days that you need to stop

non-chemical addictions can be pretty awful too. When I was a kid it was my dad's gambling addiction that felt the worst , money needed to be hidden from him in various places or it was just gone, it was brutal - him also being a [REDACTED - too specific] addict seemed kinda tame in comparison, messed up as that sounds πŸ˜†

Yeah I have Hades it is a lot of fun. You can lose over and over and still have fun so it was a good suggestion but I played it kinda to death already haha.

I wish there was a game like DBD that would let me play the role of a horror icon, or a monster or such like how dbd and Evolve do, but be fair and enjoyable to play.

I'm sad I missed out on evolve, I heard good things about it

  • Maps. I like smashing totems, being able to find gens on indoor maps (but not to the point of running deja vu or visionary) and getting objective points just for running around aimlessly.

Game One: Enter lobby, it's Autohaven. Face another OoO. The Object runs to me, proving that this is a SWF. I DC after a minute of loops. They talk mad ######### in the after chat and confirm they're a SWF.

...Am I really expected to play games like this? I'm going to go ahead and uninstall again. Maybe I'll get excited after the next few updates. Or they just nerf Freddy and I never come back. We'll see.

If you keep getting OoO (which screws freddy hard) put on blindness addons. Once they're asleep and they trigger a snare or pallet you'll see their aura at all times, but they won't see yours.

  • I'm hoping for an object buff and a gearhead nerf personally

  • I haven't noticed much difference between platforms. But although the survivors that insist on everyone constantly healing (i.e. against a legion) can be pretty stubborn and annoying the ones who insist on playing injured can be equally so (i.e. against one of the yamaokas)

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

No. The Tokens for Stake Out should be seen as a reward for being in a risky situation - being in the Killers Terror Radius while remaining unnoticed. Being slugged does not really deserve a reward, in fact, you failed by getting downed, so you should not get a reward for it.

If you shouldn't be rewarded by perk activation for failing, a -lot- of perks will need reworked, ranging from the extremely popular ones to off the record and fire up.

Stake out is nothing amazing and you can watch those stacks tick up and feel productive lying on the floor doing nothing for a minute, I say go for it.

  • When blight was on the ptb someone here complained about undying, not paired with ruin but in a hypothetical scenario where it was paired with noed, and in the endgame you could cleanse noed 3 times and it would still be going. Because you should be able to let a hex and four dulls stay up all game without consequences I guess?

  • I notice no difference. I'm almost always around 40 ping. My hits as killer all connect, I still get some weird hits as survivor as I did before, and unfortunately dedicated server nonsense is the same. I vomit on survivors who react as though they're being puked on but stay uninfected, and grabs rarely work.

  • I've not noticed with the killers but when I'm survivor + with console survivors + I'm on pc I usually get moving about 5-10 seconds before they do (time which I spend crouched in front of them usually)

It is pretty sad to see Almo still defend the change by saying "Well, if we removed basic attack requirement, we would have to make sure it interacts well with every Killer [power] we release onwards"...

Yes? That is how new content should work? Isn't that the whole point of teachable perks? (seeing the effect on other Killer powers).

Plus IF has no basic attack req so it's clearly not impossible

  • I just had a game where the doc would hook someone, come back when unhooked, ignore anyone else in his way unless he had to hit them to get through, down the original survivor, get d-striked, and only then go for someone else. This happened three times with everyone except me, who had a chase daily and was completely ignored 😭

I never claimed that it was universal, but for you guys to make the arguments that more experience at something doesn't improve your skill in said situation is a fallacy. Saying I knew this one guy one time who kept making the same dumb mistake over and over again isn't evidence of that. There are always going to be outliers.

Go ask any top tier streamer how they got so good at this game and I guarantee the answer will almost always be the same thing. They play a lot. Again, devotion shouldn't be the end all/be all to solving the matchmaking issues but to say it shouldn't have weight in the decision making is frankly non-sensical.

That is an extreme example I gave yes. I'm not totally against having playtime factor into matchmaking, as long as it doesn't make smurfing worse and put even more players off

  • @Mozzie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1830586#Comment_1830586

Again, very anecdotal. The longer people or, even animals for that matter..... practice anything the better they get at it, in nearly all cases. I don't think that's a very controversial statement. Especially since a mountain of evidence can back up that claim. But out of curiosity Almo if you were in charge of the matchmaking system what changes do you think should be put in place?

It's not universal, I have a friend who fast vaults into a locker at the start of every match to get the killer to come over so he can head on them. Normally gets baited or grabbed out, gets frustrated, does it again the next match anyway. Devotion 14 I think
