I guarantee on console even if a killer has to wait longer in a loading screen for the match to end, that killer will find a second game before a survivor finds another lobby when a killer dodges in a prematch lobby.
This is why I have no sympathy for killers that cry about mori dodging. I play both survivor and killer about the same now. So I'm no survivor main. The lobby dodging really ruins the survivor experience. Wait 20 minutes to play a 10 minute game. Oh wait the killer is using a mori? Make that a 5 minute game.
Killers need to realize that even though it takes them seconds to find a new lobby, it takes much longer for survivors to find another one- even as a solo.
So yes, Devs could balance a few more things. Yes gens and loops could be tweaked. Yes, survivors could be less tea-baggy. At the end of the day though, survivors just want to not sit at a campfire for 20 minutes in between matches. The developers need to figure out some solutions and killers really need to just ready up and take the challenge and stop dodging at every tool box or flashlight they see.
What about the other 3 survivors that want to play the game? The dc doesn't affect just the killer you know?
Two wrongs don't make a right. Dodging is bad in all cases, but one wastes a lot more time than the other.
Survivors need to realize that when they dodge a lobby, they don't just affect the killer, the other 3 survivors need to wait there with the killer until the game loads, so you just ruined the game for 4 people because you didn't like the way 1 player was playing. Congrats.
They don't. I play the game too mate, I know how often killers dodge toolboxes or keys. Exagerating here just makes your point worse.
-
Specifically to the ones you asked.
Borrowed time: get me safe unhooks in any situation, great in a pinch. I go a lot for the saves, so it suits my playstyle.
Adrenaline: don't have a better option on that survivor.
Ds: same.
Bbq: bloodpoints. That is all.
Pgtw: my favorite slowdown perk. I use it because I like it, like quick and quiet. (It being strong does help 😂)
Ruin: don't have a better one (killers that got levelled up first suffer a bit...)
I don't use the rest you mentioned.
And as I assume someone already said, some people enjoy playing the meta. Not me personally, but they are around.
Some feel like they have to play meta, but they don't, they just gotta realize it.

9/10 times it is a mori.
It's no different than killers dodging keys, flashlights, cosmetics, assumed swf groups. Killers say they didge because it's not fun to play in those situations. Survivors that DC don't think moris are fun so they dodge. It's just a little bit later in the loading screen.
Devs have nerfed instaheels and bnp. They need to nerf moris and probably keys a bit as well. Both sides should see less info. Though I thought seeing fellow survivor ranks was pretty cool.
It's very different.
If the killer dodges, the other players go to the survivor lobby and start another search right away.
If the survivor dodges, they need to wait until the loading is done, which takes a lot longer whenever someone dcs. And then they go to the end game screen and only then they go back to their lobbies and start searching again.
It's like saying a kick in the leg is as bad as a kick in the dick.

Mori's being the only secret offering for killers but still shown on the loading screen as a "secret" just doesn't make any sense at all and should've been fixed literally years ago.
I find it pretty fun to throw worthless Cypress offerings when I know it's a SWF just to watch them all get tricked into DC'ing lol. That's about the only use those offerings have.
Shroud of separation is also secret. And the splinters.
No one uses them but...they exist🤷♂️

That's not as urgent as this fix, lets be honest.
It's probably coming in the usual hotfix. Which is...1...2? Weeks after the update?

You can blame valve for it (probably...)

Unless they give another tell to watch out for a mori, wouldn't be healthy for the game

While I get what you're saying, we did just give every 18 free cosmetics earlier this week. The point of giving people the event cosmetics was to compensate for the fact that people had lost them due to loss of progress. We found a better solution that would have allowed us to award them only to people who had earned them. I'm sorry if the free cosmetics we gave you weren't good enough, but this way is more fair to the people who put in the effort to get them.
And why aren't they in the store like every other event cosmetic?

Exactly, now you don't even know what to write anymore but before I said there's no ground for discussion you insisted on those 4 being in the ingame store.
Have a nice day.
...what?
Do you actually think you made any point here? Because that comment was so badly written I think the mouse from avengers endgame typed it.
There's no need for me to add anything, you might like to repeat yourself in every comment, but I rather not.
But if you really want a more elaborate answer, I'll give you one.

That is their policy NOW which they follow with every NEW event item they release.
And as they have CLEARLY stated they are NOT giving out the 4 items to everyone for already mentioned reasons there is literally no ground for any discussion about it. They reverted it for those 4 because they knew it would be huge mistake to hand them out just like this. End of story, that's basically it. No matter how much you insist on this "policy" for event items, those 4 items are NOT included as stated by the devs.
Yes. And they should be consistent with the previous items aswell. You have yet to give any good reason why that would be a problem.
"And as they have CLEARLY stated they are NOT giving out the 4 items to everyone for already mentioned reasons there is literally no ground for any discussion about it."
You know, I was wrong. You had poor sentence making all along, not just the last comment.
Now, let me make my point better by putting CERTAIN WORDS on all caps. Yes, that's BETTER.
And there is grounds for a discussion, and you yourself is engaged in said discussion. So either actually listen to the other side or do leave as you pretended to do in the end of your newest comment.
"They reverted it for those 4 because they knew it would be huge mistake to hand them out just like this"
Correct, which is why we are asking for them to be put in the store like every other event cosmetic.
Or are you too dense to realize that we aren't asking them to be hand out for free?
"No matter how much you insist on this "policy" for event items, those 4 items are NOT included as stated by the devs"
Don't put words on the devs mouths boy, they never said anything about these 4 cosmetics in regards to their policy.
No need to put policy in quotation marks either. It's a policy, should be treated as such.

One could equally argue that they went back on their word to those who put in the effort to earn "exclusive" cosmetics by making them non-exclusive in the first place. But that's a little beside the point.
By the logic you're presenting, any time they revert a balance change based on community feedback is also going back on their word. And I hope we can both agree that that's really not the case.
Because updates to the game engine and mechanics are expected. It's not the same.
-
@Mountichan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893897#Comment_893897
Because I just said these 4 were never meant to be in the ingame store. The rule applies to the hallowed blight items, as that's the set of outfits where everything began.
And they stated they want to avoid exclusives as much as possible( with legacy being the exception). And that event cosmetics will be at the store so you can get it if you missed the event.
You can keep saying "the store wasn't around before" but that's not an excuse. This is their policy now, so they should follow it.
-
@Mountichan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893873#Comment_893873
Because it is not fair to hand out things that were meant to be exclusive. And they noticed that. The community gave them feedback on how these 4 cosmetics were a symbol of you playing the game way before cells, event items in the shop and so on.
By the time these event cosmetics were released there was no ingame shop. These 4 are an exception because they are out of a time where the "event items will be in a shop" rule wasn't even thought of.
It is a rule now. So why can't they be at the store?
-
@Mountichan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893823#Comment_893823
You really don't get the point. With how people justify they "deserve" these cosmetics we might as well just bring back legacy for everyone. Because, that's what you all are saying right? Since it's the other peoples fault for playing this game so early, right? Yeah heck them, let's give everoyne legacy. After all they were just cosmetics you kinda grinded no big deal haha 1080 Auric Cells per Set right?
That's not what people are saying.
There's 2 issues here.
1- bhvr said they would release it to all, then went back on their word. What's stopping them from going back on their word on other things?
2 - their own policy about event exclusives is that they will all be avaiable at the store. So what makes these 4 so special that they get a different treatment?
Making strawmans out of people just make you look like an #########. Don't do that.
-
Got it in like half my games. But that's just the impression, I could be way off the mark.

Theirs always those who never had issues in these type of circumstances still doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but I would do yourself a favor and look up either from clips on twitch or youtube for what I speak of, I bet you'll find couple examples of this or even on the forums.
The ones I saw had explanations for it. But if you have a particular one to show me, I'm all ears (pun intended, but doesn't really work since eyes are the important part here instead or ears...😂)

Tome challenges... I don't really like any of the endgame perks. Rather pick something that works the entire game.

I think on paper his detection works well but whether code they used for it doesn't work half the time making it a very frustrating experience for both sides.
As survivor on 2 different occasions I had been staring at ghost face no less then 5 feet away while he's out in the open and never revealed him, other times I managed to reveal him while he bloody carried me on his back.
Is why I was so dissapointed when they said gf was fine and weren't planning to look into him despite all the documented evidence of his inconsistent reveal mechanic, just from that has made him for me the most annoying killer to face against.
I gotta be the only player that never encounter these issues...
-
@Mountichan said:
In my honest opinion, even though I don't use them as much... why should event exclusives be available to everyone at all time?
There's no reason to call them event cosmetics if everyone can just buy it whenever they want.
Like for example Warframe has a lot of cosmetics that were only available at a certain time, I have some neat Halloween "Batwings" as shoulder armor from many years ago, and even though I'm not sure if they did return, I'm certain it would be again a limited offer.
Something you got when you were there, when you participated, when you supported the game. And now just because someone has money they have the right to buy it without ever being there when events really happened?
Why is everyone so obsessed with buying EVERYTHING in the store? There's like no exclusives anymore in this game, even if you grinded through the Rift well guess what, everything you earned will be available in the ingame store. Yeah sure, some of them are just recolors. Others might not even look cool. But if you earned them with playing the game, putting your time and effort into it, then it feels just dull to see everyone running around with everything you unlocked earlier.
Exclusives give people the feeling that they accomplished something. Exclusives are meant to stay exclusive, we actually grinded for those, we earned those, even if the task we had to do wasn't much but still it's not okay to give EXCLUSIVES away to everyone. it makes them.. well duh... not exclusive anymore. With the mindset of most people we should just have all cosmetics in the ingame store for auric cells. Don't work for anything in game, just buy it, whatever. People really just don't want to do something for rewards anymore and it's sad.
Event cosmetics are bs in other games too. No need to bring them up.
Just an excuse to go "I have this because I happened to be playing at the time it was given away, I am so awesome! Look at my pixels!!!"

I'm all for this. Either give players the ability to purchase them or give us a chance to earn them like everyone else. (If you're not willing to do this you might as well release them for everybody, since apparently they don't mean too much if they were planning to release them to everyone anyway before complaints about "muh exclusives won't feel special".
If they do decide not to release it however, I better not see the Hallowed Blight Nurse or any item from the rift in the store at any time in the future. Because not only did i "earn" and grind for a limited-time-availability item, i also had to pay an entrance fee to even begin grinding for that item. (and based on what they have previously stated, it's evident that they will eventually be releasing rift items into the store, making my grind useless and the point of many people here moot because event cosmetics will and should always be purchasable regardless of the time you may have spent unlocking them any other way)

because anyone could can get them through money which makes them the same as cosmetics that you can only buy with cells and that would make them no longer special.
Did you not get them for free? Why would your feelings change just because someone bought it? Did you not earn it?
Unless you want other people to know you earned it...then you just wanna show off

I can understand what you're saying but I just feel as though being able to pay for them removes the feeling that players earned them. It took many hours to earn some of them in the events and I just feel as though paying for them doesn't have the same value or feel to it.
I entirely respect your opinion though and it's really nice how polite and respectful your thread is.

Giving people what they deserve? That's not elitism, that's called justice. But it's also beside the point.
If you think that someone can't be proud of being singled out for their achievements without being an elitist, I can't help but think that says more about how you view personal achievement than it does about the people you're criticising.

I can try to explain it, but I don't think there's anything I can say that hasn't already been said.
Basically, the value that those cosmetics held for those who owned them wasn't what the cosmetics themselves looked like, it was what they represented. Like souvenirs, if you like. The fact that you owned that cosmetic meant "I was here, I went through the requirements to achieve this" - whether it was grinding an event, or going to a convention, or winning a giveaway.
It wasn't a matter of lording it over other people or feeding a superiority complex, it was a sense of pride in being singled out for their achievements - similarly to the sense of pride someone might earn for receiving a distinguished trophy of some kind.
Essentially, the value of those items lay in what they represented as trophies, not only to those who earned them but to the community at large. By giving them away to everyone, the value in that sense was reduced to nil. It was a loss, and that's why people were disappointed.
You are describing elitism... do you not see that?
"I deserve this, you don't" how is that not elitism?
