random locker? RANDOM LOCKER?
are you kidding? just changing the issue from "traps spawing in the corner of the map" to "still on corner, but also in a locker so it takes longer to get it".
just have it so you can get them from any locker up to the max number...

Well, obviously. And you find one of them immediately, and you chase them, and then the others get their traps off while you're chasing and hooking that survivor. That survivor eventually gets unhooked, gets their trap off too, and that's the end of it. Having nobody doing anything is great, having no more slowdown after that is awful.
It's wasted potential. You slow the game's progress significantly as long as you're chasing one person and another person is doing a box, especially if somebody else is in recovery mode. You're better off extending this state for as long as possible than blowing a lot of your slowdown at the same time. Ruleset #2 blows your slowdown unless you space it perfectly and get lucky with chases vs staggered gen completion, and makes it so that survivors power through gens with more coordination, instead of a more favorable situation where you keep stopping and regressing partially completed gens because fewer people are focusing on them at the same time.
That's the point of wanting to stretch out Pig's traps - you aim to avoid windows of opportunity for people to spread on gens. RS#2 forces those windows by removing the ability to search off the hook.
Plus, unless you're trying to force a kill with the RBTs (which is still unreliable without addons or the survivor doing some major time mismanagement), it's especially a waste to be chasing a survivor on a box search. They're already useless, and while you should clearly be chasing someone whenever you have the opportunity... you'd get better returns on the match if the survivor you were occupying was trying to do something useful. Pressuring survivors on boxes helps kill them if you move them away from the boxes they need, but also requires you to commit to bothering them afterwards.
Somebody who plays more Pig than I do can prove me wrong, but I never like to have more than two traps on at a time. Things don't go much slower with more survivors out of the equation and it just ends up being less time to exercise slowdown. The only time I would want all four survivors trapped at the same time is if those traps were active, I had lethality addons or I could open the gates, and the survivors were very stupid and piled on the same location (the same gen, hatch) so they have to compete for the same boxes or waste time spreading out.
the amount of traps you use depends on the person. there isn't an obvious answer.
but this doesn really matter. however many traps you wanna use, the effect will be the same with regular traps and RSN2 traps. the only difference being the pressure when removing the traps

Ruleset #2 kind of... orders survivor behavior? With it, people work on gens and then scramble to get their traps off all at once. But you're better off if the team isn't on the same page and everyone's doing something different. Say one person's hooked, one person's going for the save and will then heal, one person's on a gen, and one person's trying to get their trap off. This is the ideal situation for you, because you can go after the single person pushing objectives and the team won't make much if any gen progress while you're chasing them. Does this make sense? You usually want one person to be trying to do gens because they're very easy to find, but you don't want other people on gens when you're chasing that person because, well, they're getting things done and you aren't in a position to stop them. One person on gens is manageable even without regression perks. Several people on separate gens usually can't be stopped and they'll make progress that you can't regress. Ruleset #2 encourages survivors to finish gens before doing your slowdown, and that's not something you want.
It's the same principle that you don't want to have all 4 survivors with a trap on at the same time. You'd have a window of time where absolutely nothing gets done, like a magnified Corrupt Intervention, and then it's back to 4 survivors again and you're out of traps. Pig plays stronger by artificially creating a 3-man game for 4 times that length, because 3 survivors is the point where the killer can pressure the team faster than they can dig themselves out of their hole. Additional survivors being occupied at the same time has diminishing returns.
The tl;dr is that you want one survivor to be busy at several times way more than several survivors to be busy at one time. So it's more useful to you to have the team disorganized, with people doing box searches right off the hook and you harassing the other three whenever they try to do something, than it is to have multiple people ignore boxes until a gen gets completed and then bum rush the boxes.
Ruleset #2 is only useful if you're trying to ensure your traps are leth
al, and Pig has better addons for that purpose.I have no idea why you think having 4 survivor with traps makes the game harder somehow... you just switch to patrol the boxes...

It delays the stall; it doesn't remove it altogether. The thing is that with RSN2, it significantly raises the chances that by the time they start looking for boxes, the team as a whole will be one step closer to powering the Exit Gates.
either the stall is now, or after the next gen gets finished... either way, stall

Ruleset No. 2 as Basekit would be a bad idea. In most cases (like at least 98% of the time) the first thing Survivors do is to look for Jigsaw-Boxes, which provides Slowdown.
With Ruleset No. 2 you do not get this Slowdown, they do Gens. Especially when it is midgame, you can have people still pushing out Gens, because they cannot see the Boxes, which might lead to you losing the game.
In general, the Traps are not her only power and certainly her most boring one. IMO Headpops are not really satisfying, they are just RNG-Kills, nothing which is really earned. The Survivor was just unlucky. Or, you brought super-strong Add Ons like Tampered Timer and either a fifth Box or Crate of Gears. (Tampered Timer needs to go)
IMO Pig should have more love to her Crouch and Dash. Some Add Ons should be gone (as I said, Tampered Timer, also Exhaustion and Mangled because those just promote a tunneling playstyle)... Others need to be reworked because they are outdated, like Skillcheck-Odds or Skillcheck-Penalty.
So, more love to Crouch and Dash and a Add On-Rework is all Pig needs IMO. Granted, this comes from someone who player her A LOT.
they still have to make the trip to disarm the traps. what RSN2 does is make it so they are under a lot more pressure.
this "the slowdown doesn't exist on RSN2" is just silly...

Someone did a test of 160 survivors, 6% of them brought a key, only items lower were maps and fireworks. Out of that 6%, I would assume even less of them actually escaped.
so... 40 matches total?
that's nowhere near enough to claim keys are responsible for 3% of escapes

What's up with killer mains calling solid points survivors make trolling? Such an entitlement to call other opinions trolling
Even if you genuinely think it's trolling can you explain me what's wrong with the post? Killers take it all the time, that certainly means that the perk is stronger than usual, it doesn't even matter who the killer is.
And the fact that a perk requires zero skill to be used is another main point why it should be changed. MoM was nerfed because of the same reason.

accounted for 3%... I don't remember this being as official stat, but either way.

Fair, but doesn't the Entity also mess with the minds of the killers a bit too? Like couldn't the entity alter the way John look's at his belief and make him believe that each of these trials is a way to test people, and that for these tests he feels as if he has to personally be involved to make sure that they were absolutely worthy of living or something along those lines, essentially just corrupting his already corrupt morals?
Legit I'm asking cus I don't know enough about the lore or what the Entity is actually capable of doing or has done. Reading Amanda's bio it does kinda looks like the Entity messed with her a little bit, taking her homicidal feelings and just cranking them up from the way it says that everyone is just meat and meat was destined for slaughter. Seems kinda extreme, even for her lol.
technically the entity can, but at that point why even pick John? If the character of john is not present, why would we care?
Which is why people complain about the freddy remake, just doesn't feel like freddy.
too extreme? the one responsible for this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTJMbmiUCWYnah... she already believe everyone deserved to die.

I mean Jigsaw wasn't senile, what...? He actually was insanely intelligent to the point where he could easily anticipate the choices that people would make in his games. His intelligence is what made him highly dangerous. Also keep in mind he had cancer which, weakened him in the end due to the chemo treatments and the literal tumor pushing against his brain. In the flashbacks they show of Jigsaw in his earlier days he was healthy enough to subdue Cecil, Mark Hoffman, and with the help of Hoffman, able to subdue Paul for the razor wire maze from the first movie. Not to mention in the first movie it showed him successfully run away from Detectives Tapp and Sing after slashing Tapp's throat. As for the not wanting to kill anyone part? Ummm...ok yeah, he says that he's not a killer but come on, Jigsaw is a killer. Forcing people in to scenarios where they either kill themselves or kill each other still makes him a killer. They could've easily explained it that now in what he thought was the afterlife, he sees this as an opportunity to continue his work and test those that are sent to him. If he could no longer test them in life, then he will test them and make sure that they are worthy of a peaceful afterlife- if they survive his games. Boom. There you go.
he was very inteligent.
but he refused to accept he was a murderer.
literally carved a jigsaw piece out of his victims flesh and went "you are the ones who named me jigsaw".
thinks that putting people on life or death situations will somehow improve them as human beings.
he was very inteligent, but also very delusional. ( maybe senile wasn't the best choice of words...)
anyone with a brain would agree that jigsaw is a killer, but he never directly killed anyone. having John actively chasing them, stabbing people and sacrificing them would be very weird. It goes against what he believes.

Agreed. Actually now I am curious as to why they decided to get Amanda instead of Jigsaw himself. Don't get me wrong, I love Amanda both in the movies and in game. She's an interesting character and all, but the SAW series revolves around Jigsaw and his games. It'd be like if when Friday the 13th eventually comes to DBD that BHVR instead of opting to get Jason, the iconic killer of the series, we get Pamela Voorhees instead as the killer (no offense to any momma Voorhees fans out there). Have they ever mentioned their reasoning for picking her in the past or anything out of curiosity?
you mean the senile old man that could barely run properly, that doesn't actually wanna kill anyone?
versus the younger version of him that thinks everyone deserves to die because, just like her, they can never change?
no idea...

So do you think the grace period freezes the character? It only means that you cant attack for 0.5 seconds and could easily go down to 0.3 seconds. Thats not easy to test
"One: the traps should have the faint glow from the killer pov to the surv pov so that you can actually see them. Two: have a second long delay when teleporting and attacking so that its possible to not instantly die to a scroll wheel hag."
it's very easy to test... count to one. or hit at the very last second you can. we'll see if it ever works.

this is supossing that either you or the dude you are saving is going to crouch through them.
and yes, that is camping, the only reason those traps are there is so you can instantly go back to the hook. that is literally camping.
I mean... you can stare down ghostface in the open if you wanna talk about people playing badly against killers.
the traps are there to slow down the rescue and give hag more time to do other stuff. which is why good hags will only ever use a single trap.
If the person plays bad and it activates, that's just a bonus.
again, you have a weird definition of camping...
-
@Miles said:
just dont let her trap the hook. you seriously cant tell me that slapping 5 traps around the hook isnt camping.
you can crouch and they won't activate. and then you can crouch away. it's not camping.
if you somehow think this is camping, you have a weird definition of camping.
and if the change she gets is that the traps X distance from the hook get destroyed after the unhook, you can just run away.
-
It goes on cooldown after you hook the person. (or dropping it)
meaning, you have at max 30 seconds from that point on where people around you are exposed.
the perk has a 60 second cooldown.
so you can tell when the 30 seconds have passed if you pay attention to the cooldown timer

Then you dont understand the concept of what reducing something by 100% means. Truly. None of you seem to. And it doesn’t matter what order you do the math in. You can factor in Stridor before or after, then end result is the same: if you are reducing something by 100% then you get 0, and once you get to zero you cannot add back a number that’s in percentage form. If you don’t believe me, try it on a calculator.
the description of the perks
stridor "All Survivors' Grunts of Pain are 25/50/50 % louder and their regular breathing is 0/0/25 % louder."
iron will "When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 50/75/100 %"
so stridor means survivors are 50% louder, making them 150%. but iron will reduces it by 100%. so they end at 50%.
there... explained in a way that a 5 year old would understand. now stop.
1st- stop thinking iron will is applied before stridor. it isn't.
2nd- actually read the descriptions

also, no intention is ever obvious on text.

you can say you think it's boring.
you can say your opinion is that it is boring.
what you can't say, is that it is boring. because that would be you stating a fact instead of an opinion.

"And like I said before, if we change hag so her traps, x distance from hook, are destroyed after the unhook, it would literally solve all the issues you keep bringing up."
No, it would only half the issue where Hag instead of check all the gens within 35 meter radius and walk back before someone walks out, into all gens within 18 meters before returning to the hook IF someone was waiting around the corner and instantly crouched for the save. That's still a massive area.
"Several killers are. Huntress, wraith, spirit, freddy, blight, billy, nurse... so what if hag is good without them? Why should a killer depend on an addon to be good?"
No, being good without addons isnt the same as not needing any addons at all. Nurse is similar, but at least the majority of Nurse's addons dont really make her even better, there's only 2 that do. Hag you can almost slap on anything.
And not specific addons, but addons are part of the game. Killer basekits are designed on how powerful their addons are, never the other way around. Hag is the exception to this rule.
"And again, twins can facecamp from the other edge of the map."
Except that Twins needs to be 16 meters away in the first place, she cant appear instantly next to the hook, she doesnt ever know someone will unhook untill after their unhook happened. Demo and Freddy also cant appear next to the hook instantly, they need time, they need to make distance, you have time to tank hits or make distance. That's not the case with Hag.
No, it would only half the issue where Hag instead of check all the gens within 35 meter radius and walk back before someone walks out, into all gens within 18 meters before returning to the hook IF someone was waiting around the corner and instantly crouched for the save. That's still a massive area.
Then you don't have an issue with hag. you have an issue with any camping killer.
all gens within 18 meter is just... 1... maybe 2. depends a lot on the map and which hook.
No, being good without addons isnt the same as not needing any addons at all. Nurse is similar, but at least the majority of Nurse's addons dont really make her even better, there's only 2 that do. Hag you can almost slap on anything.
the best huntresses don't even use addons... like ever. and all the ones I mentioned, also don't need addons. the addons just do what they are supposed to do, and increase their power or change it in some way.
also hard disagree. bog water, bloodied water and bloodied mud are straight nerfs to her power.
so is scarred hand and waterlogged shoes.
disfigured ear and grandma's heart are pretty much useless.
(you know...most of her high rarity stuff is surprisingly bad...)
Pussy pillow catkis and willow wreath aren't bad just... meh. since the trap already looks in their direction, you don't need the aura to track them.
she already has a pretty fast trap setting time, so reducing that is not really important. Again, not bad... just unnecessary.
which leaves her with very few actually good addons. those being, the ones that increase the distance she can teleport to, and how long the trap stays active for. that's it.
+ rusty shackles and mint rag. which are indeed very powerfull. I personally think rusty shackles is less effective than regular hag, but I can chalk this one to just opinions.
I personally don't like using mint rag either... traps overlap all the time, and going to the correct one is sometimes annoying (not saying this isn't very powerful, it is. but I don't like it)
And not specific addons, but addons are part of the game. Killer basekits are designed on how powerful their addons are, never the other way around. Hag is the exception to this rule.
half her addons aren't even good. also "Killer basekits are designed on how powerful their addons are" got a quote for that?
I don't think this is a rule. And if it is, I don't think she's the exception. I can easily point to huntress and say all her addons are entirely unnecessary and she's already amazing at base.
Except that Twins needs to be 16 meters away in the first place,
not if you use victor to camp.
also in what world does this "walk back before someone walks out, into all gens within 18 meters before returning to the hook" somehow apply to hag but not twins?
how is hag at 18 meters somehow more scary to you than charlotte at 16?
she cant appear instantly next to the hook
neither can hag if you don't trigger a trap.
but you know...demo can. depending on how you define instantly.
she doesnt ever know someone will unhook untill after their unhook happened
neither does hag if you don't trigger a trap.
Demo and Freddy also cant appear next to the hook instantly, they need time
very little time. also they are 115%.
they need to make distance
pff... no they don't? what? some hooks are literally a lunge away from a gen and demo can trap at pretty much that distance aswell.
you have time to tank hits or make distance.
Again...same with hag, if you don't trigger any traps... can you get your hate googles off and look at things objectively please?
That's not the case with Hag.
How is it not the case with hag when her traps get destroyed X distance from the hook after an unhook?
Come on, give me the scenario where this doesn't solve everything you are complaining about.
This is the challenge now. Give me a scenario, that applies exclusively to hag, where destroying traps X distance from the hook after an unhook wouldn't solve whatever issue you think exists about a hag trapping a hook.
This challenge is all you need to answer me. Ignore everything else if you want. Give me this unbeatable hag scenario, or just stop.
she only walks at a distance where she can easily walk back? that's all killers. and she is terrible at it
mint rag? Unless she's psychic and knows when an unhook will happen, she won't have a trap to teleport to. and if she does teleport before, there's no myc, so you can just tank a hit. and if there's a trap outside the X range she can tp to, she's far away... just run.

@Dustin said:
Do this to Hag
- Reduce the distance she can set traps to hook (How about 8 Meters minimum space)
- No basement traps
- Flashlights no longer destroy traps
- Increase the default range she can teleport to traps
- Increase her lunge distance when teleporting to a trap the farther she was from it when she initially teleported to encourage leaving a trapped area. Just think max distance as Coup De Grace tier 3. So if you're near a survivor it's a normal lunge but if you're across the map when you arrive at your activated trap you'll have an insane lunge range.
I hate Hag but if you outright stop the camping incentive she has I'm fine with buffing her a bit.
The issue with not being able to trap around hooks, is that it means she will lose out on several spots to put traps that are completely unrelated to camping the hook.
Having the traps x distance get destroyed after an unhook is the better option and accomplishes the same thing

You can gen rush a facecamping Bubba. The issue with Hag is that she can camp AND apply pressure.
You can gen rush any camping killer. But you can at least trade hooks vs other killers.
Apply pressure=/=camping.
@Predated said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2245184#Comment_2245184
I mean, you can if its not the basement, it's tough as #########, but you can. Besides, my issue isnt the fact that the killer is camping, my issue is the region that the killer has camping pressure on. Since you dont seem to understand after so many posts, I'll compare the situations:
This would essentially be the area that a camping Bubba would have pressure on, Bubba is there, so Bubba cannot pressure any gens as he needs to be there to have active hook pressure. You can easily decide to leave him be and rush gens, because he actively needs to stay close to the hook:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SKMTPVL6YTJJ/image.png
Now this is the situation for a camping Hag, Hag can pressure any gens that are within a radius of 40 meters of her furthest trap, put that hook anywhere close to the center of most maps, and she can essentially teleport back instantly, let alone that even if no traps are being triggered, as I stated before, every trap has a basekit diameter of 6 meters where it can be triggered and survivors MUST crouch that distance to not trigger it(seriously, if they could walk instead if traps were in the radius of a hook, would already be SO much better). Meaning that PER TRAP, a survivor has to crouch 6-ish seconds, in which Hag can move 25 meters. So if its a hook on the stairwell on Hawkins for example, that means Hag can place 4 traps there(3 on any generic corner hook, forcing a survivor to crouch for roughly 11 seconds assuming the traps are placed right next to each other, but Hag can easily add 2 more meters between those traps and an additional 2 meters between the hook and the first traps, because who's gonna run those 2 meters and risk triggering them? Making it effectively 15 seconds of time for a survivor to only crouch a mere 16 meters with the only real counter play being a flashlight. In those 15 seconds, Hag can effectively check every generator within 35 meters and walk back to the hook without the hooked person being rescued. So you end up with a pressure that's more like this(I didnt go for the hawkins one, it was just an example of a more extreme case, but that hook isnt even the worst on the list). Giving her an effective defacto camping pressure region of this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H12KR6BDGOTD/image.png
There is a reason why many hag mains stop using addons. It's because Hag doesnt need them. Her pressure is immense. No other killer can have Make Your Choice trigger and hit that survivor before they finished their unhook. No other killer can gain a stack of Devour and rehook the same survivor 2 seconds later. This is why the 8 meter region around the hook(which is considered to be the facecamping region by the devs themselves) needs to be trapless, because it would be a defacto facecamp, and no killer should be able to effectively facecamp from 40 meters away. It still allows hag to place traps nearby the border of it, but it gives survivors a moment to actually run to an unhook. Unhooking a teammate that has no killer around shouldnt be punished by the killer having the power to instantly appear next to the hook. Appearing nearby? Sure, no problem with that. Nurse can do that, Spirit can pretty much do that(although, she needs to make distance first), Freddy can do that(if there is a gen near, and takes time), Demo can do that(again, takes time). It's the fact that Hag instantly can appear next to you, why her traps simply shouldnt be in the facecamping region. If it took her time to do so, fine, no issues, but we all know Hag is below F tier if she needs to take time to teleport.
And like I said before, if we change hag so her traps, x distance from hook, are destroyed after the unhook, it would literally solve all the issues you keep bringing up.
Because it means you can just run away after the unhook, and she would have no way of catching up.
Hag is good without addons...so?
Several killers are. Huntress, wraith, spirit, freddy, blight, billy, nurse... so what if hag is good without them? Why should a killer depend on an addon to be good?
And again, twins can facecamp from the other edge of the map.
Hell, freddy can technically teleport to a gen near a hook and get instavalue of myc or devour... so can demogorgon (which in fact, I have done).

I started playing around when ghostface got released. So old freddy was around.
In fact, I got my adept nightmare on old freddy.
I remember mostly winning all my matches with him. Granted it was on lower ranks, but still...
I remember him being fun to play.

Addonless hag is fine, but addons exist. So you have to consider those addons too.
I did. I'm saying I can deal with a camping hag with any addon.
unlike a camping bubba... which you can't do anything about it

Chases are the most fun. Hag cannot chase. So she is not fun.
arbitrary rules are arbitrary.
I can make a sentence like that too and have any result I want.
but even by your logic, the conclusion is wrong.
If chases are the most fun, it implies that there are other ways of "getting" fun. Otherwise it would be the "only" fun, or something like that.
So if a killer can't chase, they will miss out on that fun aspect, but can still derive fun from some other source(s). therefore concluding anyone is not fun from just this, is just wrong.
Also, hag chases all the time. How do yo think she gets people to activate her traps?
Hag chases people in a way where they will potentially activate another trap during their escape. Hag can "force" opponents into her traps and create a unique mindgame of if she will or won't teleport.
This mindgame only happens with hag, and only happens in chase. so not only does she chase, she creates unique scenarios when she does. and since "chases are the most fun", she must be a lot of fun, since she does chase and does it with a unique mindgame.

bubba because barbecue.
I would avoid using auric cells on killers you can get with ingame currency.

for opening chests? XD

Exactly, 100%. And this is the sole reason why she has not been changed yet, not many people complain about her, because she is rarely played.
And it is just her playstyle which lets players step away from her, it is just so boring because you cannot chase with her. Either you have a Trap at some Loop and you get a Hit/Down, or you dont have a Trap and get looped into Oblivion (or, to be more precise - dont get to go into a Chase, because it is pointless to chase with Hag).
Also quite a bunch of Streamers really dont like to play her because of her boring playstyle.
just because you don't like the playstyle of a character, doesn't mean that the playstyle is boring. you just don't enjoy it.

Yeah, they are missing like
Dracula
Wolfman
Frankenstein
Mummy
Anything Cthulhu mythos
All of these are public domain too so they don't need a license.
tbf... the demogorgon is kind of a cthulhu mythos creature... kinda... the mindflayer certainly is.

You can't cleanse all the totems yourself unless you ignore gens (or run Counterforce)
you know detective's hunch is in the game and is way better right?

Well, I prefer the old lighting. But as they say, to each their own :)
That is why we should, somehow, be able to choose between old and new maps. That would be nice.
As for the Fog, I ma glad we agree that we need more.
I do prefer the old lighting, I think it being darker makes more sense and in general looks better, but it's the entire game that is brighter, not just the swamp.
so I just don't wanna say the swamp is bad because it's brighter, when that's the entire game. you know?
and just to be clear, I like the old lighting more, but I don't think the current lighting is an issue. just less good.
