Damn I would've never thought that taste and like/dislike are subjective, who would've thought? /S 🙄
I mean I just dont think the reasons to dislike him are as strong to be one of the worst killers in the game considering there are a lot of killers that is a lot worse to go againts and not just because they're op.
And especially since he's a balanced killer that's neither too op or too weak.

To me, doctor is map dependant. Midwitch or The game, i usually just 4k, and he is very op in my opinion. Red forest? Yeah, good luck there. While you find survivors and get them down, you just dont have enough time until all gens are done.
His power can help you get survivors off gens and scare them away, you just need to not prioritize chases too much over gens and you will have a crazy amount of pressure on him.

Its possible that they could actually see through walls, thats a very common cheat that can be really hard to detect, unless you run a very specific killer build.
All hackers get banned sooner or later, probably using a new account to hack, with all items unlocked,it could be possible.
The subtle hacks are hard to detect, because there is no replay system so you can replay a survivor gameplay then report it for hacking.
Honestly it would make such a huge difference if a replay feature was in the game,it would be impossible for hackers to get away anymore

Back when I played survivor / killer more 50/50 I'd almost exclusively use tracking perks on killers (play for 11 hooks & a let go so I need to know where they are!)
Always enjoyed playing that way regardless who I used & still pretty similar now though I play less killer still zero slow down perks if they escape good for them just a game after all!
Likewise on survivor I play intel perks so I can track killer, teammates its changed a few times over the years but served me very well only exception to that main build now is i'll occassionally throw coh in with 3 intel rather than 4.
Info is often very underatted in this game as many just try meta builds or those streamers said they should use.
Tracking perks on survivor when you soloq can win you the game.
Honestly I love deja vu,that perk is so good in reality,it helps you break a 3 gen at any stage of the game and gives you 5% repair bonus for 1 minute after you finish a gen,it also combos with maps,if you equip a map,3 gens are always marked,so if you bring deja vu and a map in soloq, all survivors know where the closest 3 gens are, this is just insane in soloq.
and kindred,I never play soloq anymore without kindred, survivors have no excusae to not come for the save,or at least not swarm the hook when they have all the info they need.
Tracking perks make the difference againts losing pressure as kiler,or being efficient as survivor instead of wandering around looking for a gen,and make sure you dont 3 gen yourself.

I had some dude absolutely lose his mind and tell me I was cheating because I used BBQ. This was before it got nerfed and was in basically every build. He honestly believed that all tracking perks were cheating. His entire Steam Profile is dedicated to declaring that aura perks on killer are just hacks and are reportable.
So, I don't think THAT guy underrated tracking perks one bit.

"Legion is worse to face than any other killer"
- Nurse exists
- Artist exists
- Pinhead exists
- Doctor exists
Ah yes. Mending for 12 seconds = boring... BUT healing myself multiple times in a corner of the map with Boon: CoH (which takes 24s) is fun! I also LOVE repairing for 90 seconds, but god... I AM NOT spending 12 seconds mending!!!!!
In what universe Doctor is a bad killer go againts?
He's bottom tier and he's not that hard to counter.
Annoying? Not really,I never had an issue going againts a Doctor,I dont know why people say it sucks going againts him.
@[Deleted User] said:
My favorite thing about playing against Legion is when I'm minding my own business working on a gen outside of their TR. I see some deep wounds happen, and I start running as soon as the TR begins to creep in. Unfortunately, I can't W away from them because they're moving at mach 12 after 3 Frenzy stabs. I get hit once by Frenzy and then hit a second time by Frenzy for an instadown. It's top tier gameplay. I feel like I have a ton of agency as a player in that situation. For instance, I can load up another game that doesn't have Legion.
And how often does that happen?Almost never if your teammates play remotely at least decent.
Also after a survivor is killed, its literally impossible for them to get an insta down like that anymore.

@WeakestNurseMain said:
It's unfortunate that the devs decided to give the best chase music in the game to the lamest killer, Legion is worse to face than any other killer, even the strongest ones, and that's because they can stack slowdown and make games last forever. Every single match against them is either watching them lose in slow motion, or getting railed by an optimal Legion with all the nasty perks. The funny thing about the Legion though, is that they're actually really fun to play as, which of course means everyone plays Legion. If you play Legion and you live in NA, please just remove the CPU from your computer for the next few hours, I just want to be chased for once.
I'll gladly go againts a Legion than againts a Nurse,Blight,Cenobite,Artist,Bubba,Wraith,Spirit.

This perk is the bane of solo-q survivors you are incapacitated for 25secs and the perk itself has a 30 second cooldown. Also you can proc it by downing someone by any means. The cool down is so short that by the time you down someone hook them and get to a gen it’s ready for to go.
i feel the cooldown needs to be longer or the incapacitated needs to be shorter
And even as killer this perk has won me games that I should not have because I held a 3 gen with eruption and SH:Pain Res as my only slow downs
and those games can go on for long time especially if the survivors have Boon:Circle Of Healing
Eruption is just another perk that is not as good againts swf,but godlike againts soloq.

I'm on boad for a little Ruin and DS buffs. Maybe not all of your suggestions, but at least one of them each.
I used Ruin pretty often before, since I tended to play Hag with her base perks + a little aura reading, and I feel like the hex did get cleansed often enough. So it was by no mean uncounterable or that annoying. I feel like survivors are now much more annoyed by the Overcharge spamming I've regressed into.
call of brine and eruption is so much more annoying than ruin was,at least againts ruin you had counters, just cleanse, but these 2?cant get rid of them

The only thing that's worse is that BBQ doesn't give double BP anymore. WGLF was never used so it doesn't matter.
It also takes way, way longer to go through the bloodweb now since nodes are 33% cheaper and you get more BP per game.
Other than that it is better in every way.
Really because i've had times where I've spent over 2mil bps on a character and did not get a single iridescent map for example.
I get its supposed to be rare but it feels a lot harder to get good addons and items now.

First one. Once you bought it in shrine you are completely free to level this perk up on every other character through bloodweb, from tier 1 to tier 3, with no problems. Just like before.
But you also can level up perks on other characters by prestiging initial character or by buying 2d and 3d tiers in shrine. As alternative. You don't have to do that, it is an option in addition to basic (old) system.
So don't worry. If you have bloodwarden for all killers tier1 you both: 1) can level it up from tier 1 to tier 3 on every killer now; 2) will be able to do the same on every new killer.
Ahh I got it,my bad, yeah that makes sense.

@hastarkis said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3261007#Comment_3261007
Well, you don't have to, and why 4? Where did you get this number?
Anyway, you can:
1) buy dlc with money/shards and prestige character 3 times to get tier 3 of all perks for everyone.
2) buy one perk in shrine 3 times (12k shards) to get only one specific perk tier 3 for everyone
3) combine first two if you want. If you have character p1 then you can buy tier 2 of the perk for 2k shards, and then tier 3 for 4k. If you have character p2 then tier 3 will cost 2k shards only.
4) you can buy perk only once, for 2k shards (or prestige character only once to unlock all 3 perks), and then level perk(s) up in bloodwebs of your other characters just like before. The only difference from previous system is you already have tier 1 ready to equip for every character, you don't have to spend bps to find it.
So no, you don't have to pay more if you want it old way, you even save some bps actually.
So you mean, once you unlock a perk in the shrine, you can have it maxed out to level 3 on anyone?
Or do I have to buy it 3 times,so I can max it out on everyone?
-
@hastarkis said:
You bought first tier of those perks. Now in shrine of secrets you can buy also second and third tier to upgrade this perk for all characters at once (bypassing prestige requirement).
Only after this perk will be upgraded to tier three (no matter by shrine or prestige) you will see "already own" text and will be able to buy blood points instead.
Can you check which color of those perks do you have in the shrine? If you bought bloodwarden pre-patch, now it should be green in the shrine allowing you to buy second tier of it.
so you have to buy a perk 3 times now in the shrine, meaning you have to pay 12k shards instead of 4?

As it was confirmed in the past, voice communication will always be in this game, this is why soloq needs the same sort of communication and it will still not be at a swf potential level.
Because in SWF,you can choose your teammates,if you go againts 4 god survivors,I dont think killer has a chance even with the current changes.

Solo q shouldn't get buffs just because some people are using voice communications to gain extra advantages. Voice communication is a problem, not a solution.
A problem you can never solve,so I dont think its fair to just ignore it.
The game is balanced pretty fairly now around swf, except the camping and tunneling that needs to be adressed soon.

Seriously, if there's one community that shouldn't have voice comms, it's this one.
I think a ping system strikes the right balance. I still see players abusing that to be annoying to their teammates, but people on the Internet will find ways to be annoying with any tool they are given.
I agree,I think pinging is a much better solution, comms will just be toxic like randoms are toxic to each other a lot.

That’s not necessarily true. It also provides information which direction the killer is headed after a hook if they do decide to leave - especially when coupled with Open Handed. I’m also of the opinion the killer aura reveal is what should stay a part of Kindred. While also boosting teammate action speeds while hooked and the killer stays too close nearby.
They could just make it that it pings the killer is within 16m of the hook, and now show where.

@AngryHobo2 said:
The main reason folks are upset is just an MMR issue, tbh. Solo survivors and their SoloQ teammates used Dead Hard to extend chases 10 - 20 seconds when the objective was only 400 seconds. During this rough patch, killers got good, so if you had high MMR the killers would know what they're doing in all aspects of gameplay. Contrast this with survivor where the main goal was to just waste time and use perks well. Now with Dead Hard being much harder to use and Decisive Strike having two fewer seconds on its stun the skill floor for both of these perks has risen considerably. This has caught a lot of high MMR survivors off-guard resulting in a lot more deaths than before.
It likely didn't help that a fair chunk of these survivors likely thought: "They nerfed Dead Hard and Decisive Strike? Game's crap now." And loaded into matches against killers with the same skill they had before, just now with a lot of small buffs AND now the survivors lack the perks they relied on to get to said MMR in the first place. The ensuing death spiral will continue until survivors finally find their appropriate MMR, but I'm not certain all of them are willing to die enough times to find this level.
You summed it up so well, these are exactly my thoughts.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
That isn't information all groups have. That's information that voice communication groups have. Bridging the gap between solo and SWF just means making it easier to find a stable group of people to be in your group.
BHVR also said the game isn't balanced around voice communication, and BHVR said that game never should be balanced around voice communication.
Well swf will never be restricted from talking to each other so..

Please define what you mean with basekit kindred, because the aura reveal of the killer shouldn’t be basekit

Think the killrate is much higher now specifically because survivors still need time to adapt and realize playing survivors is not as easy like it used to and need to get better if they wanna win.

I just had a legion game where an extremely obvious bully swf just simply gave up partway into the match because they simply didn't want to play with the gen speeds I had forced them to. I was running thana, thrilling tremors, surveillance, and oppression. They finished one gen but it was obviously going to require too much of a time investment for them to continue the game, and they weren't going to get the satisfaction of stomping on a killer, so they just simply locker-hopped to annoy me until I finally hooked them all.
These are the kind of survivors that are going to be very vocal about how the balance in this patch is too killer-sided. So enjoy your slowdown builds while they last, I can't imagine bhvr not listening to the bully swf people who want to be able to feel invincible again.
Kinda expected,a lot of bully squads just give up when they realize they cant bully a killer.
I dont see it as a game problem but as a player problem.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
We love generalizing every survivor :) every survivor just wanted to bully the killer.
And really using perks like Dead Hard iron will and ds was bullying the killer? So when killers use strong perks they are bullying survivors?
In the past when you played killer, there we're matches that no matter how good you played, there was just nothing you could do to outpressure survivors using these perks that played just as good as you or better.
So there we're matches where you had no chance as a killer, dead hard could single handedly make a chase last twice as long acting like an extra health state.
Ds was the best second chance perk that was basically an extra hook for the killer to deal with.
Iron Will could easily throw a killer off and lose you a whole chase.

I rarely post on these forums and I know it will sound like a survivor main bait, but it's not. I'm DESTROYING people at 4 gens with plague, wraith, myers, bubba... it's ridiculous. Plague get the best part since I'm running corrupt, pain resonance and thana (I know, disgusting). Sure, if I get some 4 man comp SWF they COULD win, but solos? there's virtually nothing they can do. And even if I'm losing I just go to "tunnel mode" and win anyway.
Also, if only a 4 man comp SWF on Discord can win against a Plague, the balance of your game is broken.
And as solo Q player, I just don't care anymore, I just try to farm as much bloodpoints as I can, finish my challenge and die/leave, but if the killer is half decent and has regression it's a long battle uphill.
The game "as is" is not right, I'm not saying it should be reverted, but now killers have a decent chance against SWFs, but maybe buff solo Q?
So,what's the problem?
Isn't this how it actually supposed to be?
If you play better than your opponent then you should win.
Isn't it unfair for survivors to escape, when they didn't play nowhere as good as the killer.
I dont think its a problem of killer being too strong, but survivors not being used to play at the level killers play.

This is something that has been coming for a long time. Honestly, in the years I've played DBD as mainly a survivor, it's almost always the same conversation and I've read COUNTLESS posts about this update and I've seen both sides before it dropped and after it dropped. It's a back and forth in this community, but this time, the killers got what they wanted and it's actually breaking the game.
Before this update dropped, killer mains would scream and foam at the mouth to get perks like DS & DH nerfed because how it was used would give survivors a potential free win despite the fact that nothing is FREE in DBD unless either side MAKES it to be; a free 4k for the killer would mean every survivor making dumb plays or straight up giving up against certain people, situations, etc etc. (Which is what's happening right now.) A free win for the survivors is the killer goofing around or just straight choosing not to play in the same scenario as the survivors (WHICH USED to happen in certain matches.)
For the record, this is a concept everyone understood from the start when playing DBD; it's not what the perk is, it's HOW the perk is used that makes it annoying. Same thing with add-on's and abilities. People used DH to avoid hits and gain distance, and DS to avoid being tunneled or to strategically get everyone out; people chalked it up to Crutch perks because they couldnt out play it or avoid it. The other side doubles for killers as well.
The irony here is that (entitled or not.) killers mains practically ripped their hair out to get the META changed and get DS/DH nerfed/them getting buffed since they couldnt handle just outplaying certain situations, or saying GG and moving on, and claimed that survivors who used it had no skill for using ANY PERK that outplayed them. Now that it's BEEN nerfed and they've gained a rather NOTICABLE buff and forcing survivors to quite adapt and change to "Play better or cope" They're either silent with petty happiness, or they're FIGHTING for the survivors to be quiet and just take it, claiming that they STILL have no skill.
Funny how it's *Never enough for them* until they're getting 4k's easily and the survivors dont have a way to combat it (Especially SOLO Q Survivors) unless they go into SWF, which is ANOTHER thing they complain about!
This will either force people to leave DBD or go into SWF and the backlash will NOT be pretty...
Who are you talking about?most people that play killers are happy with the update lol

@LittleBigSunset said:
I'm not sure what the community's personal experience with the update has been, but mine has been awful.
As someone who enjoys running off-meta builds I was excited to experiment with the new survivor perks that had been buffed with this update. Unfortunately I didn't really get the chance to use them in more than half my games because I kept getting Nurses who (no exaggeration) had all of us slugged on the floor at four gens. It was as though the game hadn't changed at all and confirmed my fears that Nurses would become more prevalent since this update only makes her even stronger than before.
The base kit BT is laughable and did nothing in the games where a normal BT would have saved a survivor from getting tunnelled. It is very easy to wait out a five second BT. Since DS for some reason is now laughable as well (with a 3 second stun you may as well be stabbing them with a crayon) tunnelling was much more prevalent in the matches where we weren't all immediately slugged. I did not see OtR often if at all so I can't comment on that perk rework.
Gens take 90 seconds to repair now and killer gen regression has been buffed in a few areas. Although I find the gen speed decrease a fairly monotonous way to make the games last longer (who wants to hold a button for even longer than before?), it is understandable considering the amount of games I had pre-update where gens would fly in a single chase. No killer should experience that. Despite these changes, the killers I had took advantage of longer gens to instead camp out survivors because they knew now they were more likely to get away with it. Or they hard tunnelled at the start of the game even though in theory they should no longer need to to perform well at high MMR due to the buffs they recieved.
What I'm trying to get at is that I feel as though the update has changed nothing at all for the better from the survivor perspective. I'm sure killers are having a blast with these changes, I would be too, but ultimately for me I can't help but feel let down. I went onto the game yesterday hyped and quit it after a couple hours absolutely miserable. It is a shame. And I feel as though these changes were not made with solo queue players in mind. Playing solo queue is already a detriment as it is hard to coordinate and mistakes can be very hard to come back from. With these changes a single mistake could very possibly end the match for everyone. I understand that killers are supposed to be strong and feared but the best matches are the ones where it is not clear which side will emerge the victor. I don't want to play matches where effectively the game is over for us in the first couple of minutes because we have little chance of coming back from a mistake due to increased gen times etc.
All these points all in all have made me finally uninstall the game. Perhaps I am being cynical or got incredibly unlucky games but this update for me feels like it has done nothing to improve the game. In fact it has made it worse. Feel free to disagree with me, I know some people are loving the update and I'm happy they are. I just wish I could enjoy it too.
Maybe I'll be back for the next chapter. Who knows.
This update really howed just hope overpowered Nurse is compared to every other killer, she is just disgusting and the dc penalty should be removed againts Nurse.
I think she should straight up be disabled until she gets properly nerfed.
-
Exactly this,I love the fact t he game is now challenging for both sides, not just killer.
-
The problem is not the killers getting buffed,is the lack of inormation soloq has.
And lets be honest, there will be never anything you can do when you get a potato survivor in soloq.
No matter how strong or weak killer is,you will always be a disatvantage in soloq because of this, you cant fix the way your teammates play.

Make killer so weak that even survivors with 20 hours can escape?
The only way is that said survivor will try and get better in time at the game.

I'm not even a killer main,I play both sides 50/50
Its unfair to see things from only one side, especially since killers have been feeling powerless for years.
And now that killers got buffed and they feel more like a power role its somehow bad.
Survivors having to get good at the game and learn how to play, use teamwork to their advantage is a good thing.
No more relying on crutch perks,I agree things are bad for soloq and BHVR needs to add some sort of comunication betwen soloq survivors.
But this has nothing to do with BHVR buffing killers, its more with the fact survivors need a way to communicate and the game needs a proper anticamping mechanic.
-
Rip survivors?
More like rip bad survivors that dont wanna get better at the game, winning as survivor is not impossible,it just takes more skill now.
Winning killer always took skill, except camping, but survivors indirectly can help killers secure a win if they camp.
Still,I hope in the future they will adress camping next, its the next main problem with the game.

My thoughts exactly,i'm honestly so glad survivors actually have to get better now if they want to have a chance to escape, killer should be the power role and this update makes this happen.
Maybe this will alsoo help soloq as survivors cant just mindlessly crutch on perks and rush gens with no worry.
Its just survivors complaining now that the game is harder for them because the killers got buffed, lol.
I also play survivor and i'm honestly glad the game is challening now,its kinda boring to turn every game into an easy escape or a farming simulator.

Because survivors will actually have to learn how to play better now instead of relying on broken cructch perks.
I always disliked especially in soloq, seeing survivors running the meta perks and somehow thinking this made them invincible and they shouldn't even try to play better.

Imagine you get non stop the same killer. That would become boring pretty fast. Variety is what keeps this game entertaining. We need more strong killers. Not more weak killers.
You need to realize when a killer is too strong or too weak.
You cant say we need more strong killer while denying the fact some killer are too strong.

Just because people complain about it doesn't mean it needs nerfed. Nurse requires a very high skillset to play, and I for one suck at nurse. Just because survivors are the loudest voices in the room doesn't mean they get to say what happens to the nurse. I would love for every person complaining about her to actually try and play her first. Then, they might have a say in if she needs nerfed.

Honestly those kills are this high because in many games,a lot of survivors just give up and dc,so they still count as kills.
Also the rates might be a bit over 50%,but not a lot of players play killer because after a game or 2,you're already burned out and bored of it.

So by your logic if they nerfed nurse to not be the strongest then they will have to nerf blight afterwards because he is now the strongest. I hate to break it to you but there will always be a strongest killer and the sweaty players that play nurse will just move to the new strongest kill which will be then called to nerf because they are the strongest and the best players that want to win will play them and then you nerf blight and now PH is the strongest rinse and repeat.
No,I didn't even mention Blight,I was just saying Nurse is too overpowered and there's little you can do about it.
At least Blight has some sort of counterplay and if your team plays good, you actually stand a chance.

I agree that camping is a problem and I really hope they find a fix for it.
I just wanna DC everytime I go againts a bubba, trickster,or huntress, all they do is camp hook and leave you no way of unhooking.

She's already not the strongest killer in game anymore. So yes, no range. Especially on huge maps. Would cement her as not being the best.
Please, just watch competitive dbd, she's the only killer that consistently 4ks in competitive unlike all other killers.
And before you say you cant take competitive dbd seriously,it just proves that even againts good survivors, they have no chance againts a Nurse just as good.

It would just have to be that the range addons don't allow the nurse to be faster if his tp is below 20 meters 🙂
Recharge addons are absolutely not a problem. The nurse can teleport faster, but this does not prevent the survivor from putting some distance between him and her by using straight lines, for example.
The fact that a nurse slugged 4 survivors has nothing to do with her addons, it's just that the player is playing like an ######### (or that the survivors had it coming, but that's a case by case basis).
There is no way to dodge a Nurse hit once she has line of sight and she's within 8 meters of you.

You do realize there's a difference in "strongest" and "overpowered"... right?
She's been the strongest killer in the game since her release, she is so much stronger than the other killers to the point she is overpowered.
She is overpowered even without her range addons, her addons is not the only issue with Nurse.

You do know killers are meant to be the power roles in these types of games your not playing a 1v1 your playing a 1v4 survival game, so the killer needs to at least be able to handle a 1v1 with easy and if its a 1-4 try and control it.
It's really starting to look like survivors won't be happy till they get bot killers .
Power role does not mean you have to be overpowered, its just wild to see people actually trying to justify Nurse being the strongest killer in the game for over 6 years.
Power role?Yes
Overpowered?No
