@Almo @Peanits @not_Queen I've played reworked leatherface for a bit, and I can never go over bronze chaser. All the other categories when I 4k I get iridescent or gold at least, but it isn't enough to pip at rank 8, because Whether you down a survivor immediately outpositioned, or do a really really good mindgame at a normal size pallet ( As I'm mastering to do) you just don't get enough chase emblem, and sometime if the match is a draw instead of a black pip I even depip.
Are you evaluating to change this emblem system feature for Bubba and Billy, considering the amount of time and skill you must have:
1 as billy to know every single tile of the game to master it's curve.
2 as bubba to curve near objects as close as you can, being able to do correct mindgames and when to and not to chainsaw?
An iridescent emblem and 2 golds aren't enough because I can't grow the chaser emblem
One Shotters get punished for using their power too much. Got to melee more. Yes, it's stupid and could be easily fixed by doubling what you get for malicious with a chainsaw hit but I'm not a dev. Best you can do is slug 2 with the chainsaw then melee everyone else a ton of times.

Not sure if you’ve watched more, he’s pretty solid but he experiments a lot. But this isn’t really about how good he is or isn’t. Maybe I shouldn’t have said the hours but I was making a point that it was an all red rank game.
Im curious if what he did during that chase is considered skillful by the new MMR system? Is pre dropping every single pallet and leading a 3 minute chase skillful? Or is leading the killer in a 90 second chase using just mind games and windows more skillful?
When I initially commented, I was already a bit pissed off so it wasn't a fair judgement. It could be that they do base pallet drops as part of it and add more points for an actual slam. It too, could be how long the chase was over skillful evades or all of it might be taken in account for an overall score but if that's the case, it would take ages to get a decent MMR O.o Humans are strange creatures.
We do stuff that isn't always rational. Like going for an unhook while NOED is active. Best to leave but I like to do my best as a teammate. Do I get punished for rescuing but dying still? If just dropping a pallet gives you points while in a chase, leveling your MMR will be too easy and could be why we get a lot of low levels.

@Shenochek Alright. I admit I was wrong. I'm man enough to. I just went to his stream and confirmed what you said. I apologize about my misinformation. Thank you. Can't believe I'm saying this but thank you for being civil and not throwing insults. It's just easier to explain then show with proof instead of people just ripping into someone. Thanks again, Man.

I understand I did well and I'm sure my MMR is higher. The problem is that the in-game metrics don't account for the job I did in the match. I was able to get a three kill against people many ranks higher than me, yet the in-game model still shows that I only did slightly better than them.
They will be changing that soon. They already stated it. You did very well. MMR is about skill, not play time. Don't sell your skill short.

Red ranks were flooded with garbage players, pre new mm
1000% agree on that. That's the issue. People could do small stuff and rank up by being selfish and useless. It's gotten really bad over the past year and a half. It's nice seeing a change in power.

If you have buddies you can call out to cranking out gens before the killer can take advantage of the loss of pallets, yes it works.
You dont need pallets when you can rely on the numerous second chance perks later and the gens are done.
Gen rush doesn't exist. He chased too long and never applied pressure to the others. Hell, they never even healed xD Not as great as everyone seems to make him out to be. He seems average. Second video, he gets 1 kill.

Just finished this game, and fairness aside (which obviously this one wasn't), the new MMR system obviously isn't working as intended. Despite getting three kills against these red ranks (I let the last guy go because I'm nice like that), I only got one tick higher in rank 10. After killing two red ranks and a purple rank, it still wasn't considered enough to rank up two ticks? I just don't see how this system is intended to work. I'm typically put against red rank survivors, yet I'm stuck in green rank.
You won so your skill must be higher than your original rank put you as. MMR, Bud. It knows unless you purposely lose/DC to lower it to make a statement then all you're doing is creating the problem. Be proud. You did good in that match and showed skill to win.

So just to sum up if you don’t wanna watch, he checked profiles pregame and at least three of the survivors had 3000 hours so this is a “high rank,” match but Would you consider it high MMR or “skillful?” the first chase consists on the survivor pre dropping every single pallet and attempting no mind games... yet of course they still cranked out gens and due to DS/Unbreakable and locker/DS players with almost zero looping skills still managed 2 escape and 2 kill...
I believe that's what the devs want. 2 and 2. Balanced, as all things should be. Seems his MMR is starting to even out. Poor thing. Getting the higher players now. Can't wait for people screaming how unfair MMR is. Can't. Wait. At. All.
Edit: He got a 2k then a 1k. Balanced.

"Otz had 350 views yesterday when he stopped streaming. That's 350 views of recorded stream. 5000 viewers during stream. He has 251000 followers. Yes, that's quarter of million for the math challenged.
Views is how many watched his video. You can't say he had 100 views but 10,000 viewers xD Subscribers are the amount of followers. That doesn't mean he had 5000 viewers watching him at that time xD

Do you not know the difference between a pre-recorded video, pre MMR, and a live stream DURING MMR?
It was posted the day after. Unless he doesn't upload for days, then it should be current. Screenshots of different killers with different results using MMR won't be accurate. I stand by what I said. If people want to call me bootlicker and shill for making a statement yet they want to worship some guy on Twitch and justify anything he says as absolute, doesn't truly see the irony in it xD since that's the definition of what THEY'RE doing xD
I criticize the devs for certain things as I do streamers. I don't side with anyone. I don't watch people all day every day. Otz had 350 views yesterday when he stopped streaming. He might have 5000 followers but not concurrent 5k people xD I use to get 250 views on YouTube per video so I must be as good? Take my word and if someone doesn't agree mindlessly, let's trash talk them :D
That's mob mentality and I've stated before, I won't reply after awhile to that. Be civil or don't mention me. Think for yourself and come to your own conclusions. Anything else?

@TTVfbYTigTW said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1510323#Comment_1510323
where did the devs reveal the MMR system?
MMR is based upon how good you do as killer. I'm assuming it's mainly based upon kills since everything else is subjective. Farming would mean you're either a God (due to points and high score) or trash and lose points due to not killing anyone. It's pretty simple. Getting a lot of points but everyone living every match would be a terrible way to match people xD
Yeah, the survivors game the killer a ton of hard chases with a few wacks and after they was done toying with him, they all left so let's give him a high MMR. That just doesn't sound right. I'm gonna say due to the devs wanting 2 kills, 2 escapes per match. Otherwise, there are just too many variables to determine skill. Are people ######### around?
Is the killer respecting or eating pallets? Did they escape using a key or die by mori? Did the person dc or get 1 hooked by their teammates? The list goes on and on. They said the MMR is trying to predict the outcome of a match. That would be if the survivor's survive or the killer's kill all or some amount then places with a group with a similar amount of the opposite. You killed 4? Here's 4 that escaped a killer until it boils down to 2 and 2 per match. That's my guess.

So, I've been playing the game for a while now and have gone against every killer in the game. Usually going against a diverse group of killers every day. However, only recently I've been getting the same killers each match. Yesterday it cycled through Ghostface, Pyramid Head, Stupid Pig and Doctor. Today, I've only gone against Ghostfaces and Huntresses. Different players every time, just the same killer. This isn't too big of an issue, I'm just curious as to what's up? I miss playing against Oni's and Deathslingers.
I think everyone is starting to try and get their mmr stable by playing the same character or could just be random, who knows?

Ik Both sides of the game have some Toxic People, but to the people who aren't toxic and just are trying to play, Let's try and be nicer to them. Especially if they are newer to playing killer and Don't know what they are doing. Let's try and be kind people to one another. And Ik ik, some killers have certain playstyle's they like that we don't ,but we do as well; have playstyle's we like but they dislike. Let's try and remember that at the end of the day we all Play this game to have Fun. So yeah, Love y'all and be safe out there during these Hard times ✌
That is very sweet of you. More of that would make the community a more positive place in general.

After collecting some data for past 2 days I finally understand how to enjoy the game as a Killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178777/dwighththts-matchmaking/
I have played for 2 days. More than 25 matches with constant killer -- The Cannibal with the following outcome:
Day 1: I mostly enjoy matches. Matchmaking is fast. Ranks are mixed. Getting 3k or 4k is quite possible with regular game-play. I've enjoyed it.
Day 2: I've been mostly matched with sweaty red ranks solo and lots of SWF. I was losing match after match and de-ranked from 8 to 10.
This was exactly same matchmaking result, like it was before the change, when I was constantly matched with a lot more experienced survs, like my rank 8 vs their rannk 1 - 4.
I have decided to switch the killer.
2 matches with Plague -- awesome
1 match with Nurse... like annoying 1 guy in SWF and I don't really play nurse
2 matches with the Executioner -- awesome
2 matches with Billy -- awesome
2 matches with Clown -- awesome
In conclusion, I think this is what the new MMR wants killer players to do: spread MMR across all killers.
On the other hand if you are maiming 1 killer -- then you will be punished quite soon, after 10 - 20 matches or so.
Good song about matchmaking:
At least you understand it. The matches will continue to get harder until you lose a lot. That's the settling process of MMR. Once everyone settles, it'll be alright.

That's the beauty of discussions. You can form whatever opinion you want, whether it be right or wrong. I'm far from biased. I've met biased people. You can't reason with them no matter what. Well I play on console and everyone still loves Ghostface/Freddy/Doctor and don't want to touch anything that has any resemblance of mechanical skill besides basic mindgames so that's probably part of it. I was seeing a few Oni and Pyramid Head players earlier today (yesterday), though. Good ones too. MMR isn't affecting my opponent matchups when I play survivor, at least. Teammates though...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1511920#Comment_1511920
If I was a totally rational person I wouldn't be on the DbD forums in the first place.
Besides, I'm stubborn and I want to have the final reply. Probably not going to happen though. Almost time for me to sleep.
I can see why. Console has much lower frames and hitches. Using a killer on a timer that has the screen completely freeze for a second is enough to steer most away from Leatherface. I use to play on console but I'm on PC now. The frames makes the world of a difference as killer. When I speak of Leatherface, I meant on PC.
He's very good on PC. Clear routes and high frames. Whether with him or against him, it's always fun. I make sure I get a few good slaps in before I die against him lol. It's funny. Most of my friends call me a killer main because I'm efficient at it yet when we play SWFs, if I choose not to run, they die fast lol. When I do run, we never lose unless I do something wrong. Take that as you may.
I guess my overall point is, I can feel for both sides because I play both sides very well. I also try to be humble as a survivor. I defend camping and tunneling because they're legit strategies and I don't want this game stripped down to just chase, down, hook and leave until you lose.
One last fun fact about me. I promote a player's choice as killer but I rarely camp or tunnel as killer :) Just because I'm alright with a player's choice doesn't mean I use those tactics all the time. I usually play depending on how the survivors are playing. If they are chill or seem to be new, I fake walk near a hook until they wiggle off. I'll "accidentally" run my chainsaw into a pole that was nowhere near them to give them a chance to get away and then I pretend to not know where they went.
I think the big problem on the forums is that most people assume who you are, what type of player you are and if you do what they want. It's a really bad thing. Most people probably think I'm a sweaty 4-k'er who tunnels and camps and a survivor who is God. Yet, I'm just a player who enjoys the chase. You give me a good chase, you'll probably get slugged until I'm ready to give you the door.
I also respect the 4% Unhook. My favorite line is, "If the Entity wants you to live, I have nothing to say in the matter". I play to have fun in skillful matches but that doesn't mean I wreck new players. I give them some moments to feel like badasses and I tell them they did great and was hard to beat at endgame chat. I have a ton of positive comments from survivors and killers alike.
I don't babysit them. I give them chances to learn how to outplay me and do fake misses to give them the thrill of barely escaping a hit. I herd them into certain scenarios so they learn how to properly loop something by smacking the window "accidentally". Mainly, I play how I want to play. I let other's assume how I play because it's easier than having to suck up to someone. Sorry about my book lol. I have a bad habit of typing too much. I really am enjoying our conversation, though!

Seems pretty accurate to me. I would say Bubba is a hard B+. Almost A-Tier. If he could travel the map quickly, he'd be A. Poor Leatherdaddy. So close :( One day.

If the Bubba's trying to dash with those windows up he's just an idiot.
I have to clarify that this is just all speculation. As I said in my original post, he might be unstoppable. Against random solos, and if played perfectly. I don't think there's anyone out there playing him perfectly yet. I'm certainly not.
And we're gonna have to wait for MMR to settle/be reversed before we can start gauging anything anyway.
I've been seeing a lot of Leatherfaces. They always attempt to chainsaw if they get close. I haven't met a god one but I have met a good one who wrecked my cheeks and left a positive comment on his profile. He played me stupid. It was a thing of beauty. We got 3k'd with 1 real escape. He brought the boom and my ass was the shaka-laka xD it was a good match. I don't see why people think you have to outlast a killer forever.
2-3 gens from 1 chase is spectacular. You did more than your share of chases. If we still lose, that's on us. We chose to mess up. I'm shocked that you haven't seen more Leatherfaces O.o I see Spirits, Nurses and Leatherfaces mainly now. Leatherfaces more then Nurses then Spirits. Good Nurses and Spirits. Nurses where if you're in the open, you're dead.
It's great! I do LOS and once I hear, Eeeeeh, I jump into a locker xD it's priceless. I know I'm gonna die but doing my best to survive is really fun to me.

Again, burn the L wall. Survivors can only vault a window 3 times in a chase. It's not hard to force an entity blocker on an L wall if you need to and the T is boozled. Worst comes to worst and they play it perfectly, you have to M1.
L wall T walls are hardly the point anyway, you can win those with normal M1 mindgames. Bamboozle's mostly for the mindless god windows and saving time at shack.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1511870#Comment_1511870
You're assuming I'm a survivor main because I like the Hope icon (and Hope as a perk, which is sleeper really, really, really good). I don't care to have this conversation with you. It's brainless.
You can still loop it long enough for the other window to open back up but you loop it to get rid of his chainsaw charges before going to a pallet to break his BL. I use the windows against his chainsaw dash. I never said loop it so he can M1 me. I don't stay at windows long. I usually do 2 loops while looking for a pallet. I cut it short as soon as I'm far enough to reach a pallet safely. Mainly, Windows and long walls help burn up chainsaw ticks.

:) I had know that something like that comes up.
It's worthless to teach survs on the forums something. Do it in the ingame chat. They are usually a bit more open for it. The survs on the forums are not here to get advice to something. That is just my experience. Prove me wrong^^.
And yes, I know that is not the nicest posting someone can post, but the reality is not always nice.
I'm a very ballsy survivor and love chases. It's my favorite part of this game. I risk plays even if NOED is active and try to do saves. I enjoy the risk and it paying off. Not always works and when it doesn't, I usually laugh because I got caught. People take the game too seriously. I learned this game when it was so hard and broken that these new bugs are basically nothing.
Hell, I've fallen through the map, suctioned back to the basement, force fielded in the basement, stuck inside the hooks, sacrificed on first unhook when Freddy was released. So much stuff that was literally game-breaking and made it impossible to win if caught and I'm thankful for the experience. It taught me to be patient.

T-walls don't shut him down, at least not by themselves (IE not connected to another tile with a window). Bamboozle the T, burn the L (if you even have to).
Pre-throwing pallets is definitely the way to go but what happens when you have massive deadzones all over the map against a killer that has a permanent instadown? Your team gets screwed.
I'm not saying he's a 4 man DS Unbreakable Adrenaline DH/DS killer. But Bubba dicks solos. Hard. You only ever need one weak link.
T-Walls have 2 windows. He bamboozles one window and starts revving his chainsaw and you jump the window as he starts his dash. No matter which way he runs, you WILL reach the window first and you can either fast vault and he has to continue his chainsaw dash around and just jump the window again until he runs out of dashes or if he tries faking and backpedals, just go left or right and continue until you reach the window again.
Bamboozle wears off after 30 seconds. There are a TON of pallets in each map. More than enough to throw a pallet, loop once and skip a pallet before throwing the next one and still have plenty left on the map as long as people are doing gens. I have only run out of pallets 2 times. Both times because my teammates took 6 minutes to do 2 gens. On video. Rank 1.
Otherwise, I never have ran out of pallets on normal matches as a survivor. I also use windows heavily also.

But you're not positive at all though, you've dismissed every single thing I've said by stating your personal experience.
also you're implying I don't want to improve based on the fact that I'm quitting this game Even though I've had games before this update came out. You didn't ask or address any of that. You just focused on the after.
Your experience is not comparable when you have people with thousands of hours versus people with little to none, tons of characters and balance changes over the years.
Developing a system to test the MMR system is not far-fetched at all and it's surprising to me as a new player that a game as robust as this hasn't had a chance to do that.
That's not my fault or anyone else's that the game doesn't have a properly working system at the moment. The developers should scrap or salvage the system as is and roll it back. Find what works and reimplement when it actually does work. That's not a hard concept at all, and there's nothing to fight about that.
Well, blame the devs for all things that you don't like like everyone else then. I love the new MMR. I'm starting to get actual matches around my level. You don't like what I have to say then there is nothing else for me to say. It was great talking to you. You take care.

These things don't happen in a vacuum.
You wouldn't have seen what was happening at low ranks with hex:ruin pre-nerf. That went on for FAR too long and the collective killer community was CLUELESS at best or willfully ignorant at worse. Indeed the 'my poor hex ruin' posts still manage to nauseatingly find there way onto this forum.
New players simply couldn't manage skill checks in general, let alone hex:ruin. And people expected them to even understand the concept of totems and how they worked?? let alone find them all?? rofl please.
What you're confusing is the popularity of this game relative to retention which you won't know if you're only playing at red ranks. For online games my people gravitate to playing with friends and being team orientated, i suspect that devs feed new survivors to killers knowing they can retain enough to sustain the population.
This mmr system just seems to be an extension of the same concept. Feeding new players to veterans for the sake of queue times or w/e.
It's certainly not doing any good for the game. But like you said, a % of people will stay.
I never once said anything about old ruin. This is to keep old players from deranking and beating the hell out of new players by dc'ing enough until you get full potatoes every match. I'm glad they introduced MMR. Maybe it'll keep me from getting potatoes who UE around the map at Rank 1 who don't do gens. It'll be better in the long run but no one wants to wait. It's like the chapter updates and everyone rushes to complain within 39 seconds. Chill out and wait.

You can easily loop him at a t-wall, a window
Bamboozle.
stun him with a pallet without him breaking the pallet with the chainsaw.
Enduring SF
He cant rev forever
Irrelevant unless facecamping. Which is funny, because he can still 100% do it, it just takes a little more brain power.
his tantrums are longer, rewarding you for making him run into something.
Relying on player mistakes = counterplay argument, similar to Spirit/Deathslinger.
I think a perfectly played Bubba might actually be nigh-unstoppable for solos. We'll have to see if he can actually get hits when running the vast majority of tiles perfectly against a survivor who also runs them perfectly (chili probably makes this possible). Regardless, I think people are going to start calling him unfair once people start getting used to him and using Enduring SF and/or Bamboozle. I'm very interested to see how he plays out in the long run.
You can only bamboozle 1 window at a time. T-walls still shut him down. If he's using both then pre-throw pallets and do it over and over again until gens are done. It's not super easy to do turns around objects anymore. He swings wider so you can't hug walls like you could before and lose great distance during. Yes, he's hard but still beatable.

DUDE, you are STILL being dismissive as hell. Have some damned empathy for the poor bastards getting stomped on right now. This is the one update in the game's history that actually has the potential to stifle it's growth because it punishes new players for being new. Don't tell me you would be hunky-dory alrighty if you just purchased League and just got destroyed every single game by the opposite team over and over while you don't even know how to play. You wouldn't even know what the hell was going on. And I don't need your life story about how you got gud 4 years ago (I was there too). Back then, we were all learning the game together and creating the meta as we went. There were no 4000 hour players back then either.
The rank system we had last week was flawed, sure, but it prevented a lot of older players going against the newer ones.
I'm not saying delete MMR. I'm saying over and over again that there is a PROBLEM with it. A big one. And it needs to be addressed quickly. We can't just say 'ohhh it'll sort itself out in a week or two, give it time.' No, you've already lost a huge chunk of potential new players who aren't going to come back now.
People need time to learn a new game gradually in a forgiving environment. When they've spent enough time learning the basics, then they can decide if they want to get gud or not.
My reasoning is, I started out being face camped every match with no way to be rescued. Just like new players are being crushed by Rank 1s right now. It's how I started my experience with DBD. If you don't understand that, I really don't know a better way to explain it.
Having sympathy for new players being killed quickly and having almost the same learning curve that I had starting DBD? It's the same. I never told killers stop doing what you do. I didn't demand the devs to change how the game was played because I couldn't get a match very quickly?
It's like you think new survivors are helpless children who have never ever played a game where they're facing a strong opponent and got beat? This game might not be for everyone. If you can't have fun losing here and there, don't play a game.
If I decided to play the new COD and got stomped by max prestigers every match, would I quit because they had better guns and attachments? No? That would be stupid? I play until I get better and unlock the same #########? Just like new survivors level up and unlock meta perks.
Its a game. You will get stomped at some point. Whether it be now or later, it'll happen. That's the beauty of a PVP game. It's not a predetermined ending. It can go both ways. If you are literally not having fun, don't play the game and refund it. Torturing yourself over a game is a bit overboard.

He is fine. He may be good at chasing but still has little map pressure.
Very true. I enjoy making Leatherdaddys run into a wall and stare at them while running xD knowing he has to be pissed xD

Personally, any killer that can tunnel through bt in the same usage of his power without any addons and across half the map with, is not a good rework but a busted one.
Call me a lowlife but i don't play against a bubba anymore, i gen jockey, run him for a little bit, get hooked and off myself.
I don't feel like Bubba leaves much open to enjoy, a closed looping spot? He'll just m1 or if you're on a pallet force you to drop it. An open space? Chainsaw all the way.
It Honestly feels like the Legion nerf but reversed as a buff.
You can easily loop him at a t-wall, a window and even stun him with a pallet without him breaking the pallet with the chainsaw. If you're in the open, then yes, he will down you most of the time. You shouldn't have went to a dead zone. If you choose to run in a straight line against a Bubba just because you have BT, that's also not how you do that. He's not nearly as oppressive as old Leatherface was.
He cant rev forever and his tantrums are longer, rewarding you for making him run into something. He's shut down even during a full chainsaw sweep at a window if you loop it right. The only thing different is, he has a faster movement to catch survivors so he doesn't have to butt rub you with his chainsaw to actually down you with it.
He can't chainsaw across the map? He has a max of 12 seconds. Again, if you're running in a straight line instead of using windows or pallets, you're playing against him wrong. His chainsaw also swings wider a little making ot easier to hit walls for a self-stun. It's not easy to control it around corners. Window loop his ass into oblivion.

Based on what? I'm literally in front of you as one of the many players already saying they're quitting, and a new one at that.
You're not a standard and neither am I.
No where did I imply or state that players should win games all the time, where is that argument coming from?
That argument has no place here. You're ignoring the underlying theme here.
People leave games they don't enjoy, that's not rocket science that's just objective truth in video games.
If you enjoy getting stomped for 30 to 40 games before you finally get into matches without winning even one or two because you are severely under equipped then props to you.
There are plenty of PVP games that and have lost many players. Heroes of the storm dota league of legends
I generally view that as just masochism.
Again you do you man but saying that no one's going to leave is ridiculous at this point when people already have.
Fun is subjective as I said before. If you're quitting then good luck on your future gaming endeavors. I play pvp games to get better and dominate. People always say they're leaving yet the playerbase grows and I still see the same people a month later talking again. I enjoy the conversations I have with people. I'm not trying to sway you to my side nor am I saying your style of wanting to play is invalid.
I am saying though, if someone wants to stop playing then stop playing. If the game is that unplayable then don't force yourself. Either way, you do what makes you happy. I'm not here to sell you DBD. I'm here to talk about the game, my experiences on it, whether good or bad and try to report bugs if I find some.
That's why I enjoy the discussions and mostly avoid negative ones that have no substance. If I can have a good convo then I'm a happy person. When I have a bad few games, I avoid the forums. I don't like posting a ton of negative discussions. This will be my last reply on the matter, I believe. I do hope you enjoy your DBD experience. You'll see me pop up here and there in certain discussions and feel free to talk to me. I'm usually eager to engage in conversations about the game.

This wont happen with mmr because the game see that you are an experienced player.

Remember the streamers that use to make a living off of deranking and bullying new killers lol. They would have hated MMR lol.

Dude, your entire argument is "just deal with it."
Well guess what? New people who aren't invested in this game aren't going to. They're going to quit. A lot of my friends started quiting when they started getting non-stop frustrating matches against killers they couldn't deal with. Now they can experience that immediately so they can quit 5 games in and not waste their life.
There is a real problem here, and you being dismissive about the issue is counter-productive. It's the game's fault that people aren't being matched correctly, not the player's, and they shouldn't be punished for that.
I've said my thoughts on the matter. Also, the amount of times people post how the game is gonna die every month from a new change over the past 2 years and the game seems to actually grow instead makes it really hard for me to be indifferent to these type of posts. We've all had different starts in DBD. There are multiple ways to learn and get better.
If you don't want or care then why reply to me? You are fixated on MMR to be removed. It doesn't matter if it gets tweaked to help, I'm sure the posts will continue for the next month before people stop caring and go back to yelling about tunneling, camping and DS. It's a discussion. I said why it doesn't hurt the game. You said why it does. That's it.
It won't change my perception since I've played for years and never went against "new" killers. I got face camped. I was never mad. Then looping was created on YouTube and I practiced after watching and got better. If the only thing that makes your gaming experience the very best is going against someone who swings at the air a lot, runs into a wall or just face camps you then yes. It'll be terrible for 2 weeks to a month.
Otherwise, not everyone thinks the same way about this game. We all have our own opinions on what causes what to occur. If you keep thinking new players will die one time and just quit, they can refund it.

And I'm saying they should just scrap this stupid idea and test it first before putting it out there. "just deal with it" is not good enough, so you do you man.
I literally put out the staple reason why new players would leave a game and you dismissed it.
People won't leave that easily. If they do then it's on them. No one plays a game and wins every time. If so, it would get stale. I started with some of the worst ways to experience this game and after 4 years, I'm still here through all the ups and downs of this game. If you leave that quick then good luck on your future game endeavors. Not everyone quits because they begin a match and get stomped. Otherwise, no one would play COD or any other game that is pvp.

Which is exactly why this thread started was because you were basically shadowing your experience over mine even though you didn't experience 'this' as a new player.
What could you possibly know of this in this instance?
This game is far more developed than it was before, and all it took was a singular update.
I was face camped 9/10 matches when I first started DBD. Before looping was a thing and everyone threw pallets down and ran to the next one. I'm sorry that you have to play a few matches until you get a game near your skill level. As least after a few games, it'll start to even out. Better than how I learned initially. They didn't even have tutorials or a training mode. You got thrown in a match and tried to stay alive.

That's much ado about nothing, the whole point of a video game is to have fun. If you're not then it simply stops, people like me are not going to stick around for the long run because it's not worth it, and a major waste of the money I initially paid for.
So basically I have to wait Weeks to a month before I can actually play the game I paid for, in it's intended state, and that doesn't sound like a rip off to you? Especially when it was in my own opinion, 'fine' before the update?
It literally put my opinion from Good to bad in less than a week over a singular update.
Fun is subjective. What might be fun for you might be unfun to another. I wish you the best.

while the general argument is "it's too situational" i would say the perk has a lot of utility regardless of if the killer has a hex let's look a some of the scenarios that it can be used with or without unbreakable:
1- someone with a flashlight distracts the killer while you recover and get up in the killers face with soul guard and unbreakable.
2- you can use it with deliverance, unbreakable and decisive strike for a 100% chance to escape guaranteed.
3- if the killer has a hex you can single handedly screw their momentum over if they try to slug.
4- if a killer with noed hooks you with decisive strike and someone saves you, you can recover in front of your probably hooked saviour and save them plus block a hit with soul guard and decisive.
5- a killer refuses to pick you up under a pallet or a survivor prevents the killer from picking you up by looping him
6- you are downed and fully recovered and your only remaining teammate is getting chased and picks you/you pick yourself up while they are getting chased so you can block a hit for them and live
these are only few of many different ways that this perk can be game changing, it's way to underrated.
Those are really good points. Might try incorporating a build from this. Thank you.

Not what I meant by the basics, you're talking about 3rd party youtube videos that teach you meta tactics that the game would otherwise not teach you.
Players should be matched up with players that match their level, they failed at that, but if they're not going to forcibly make an effort to correct it, but instead force that on the player, then they have failed.
I don't see how that's a complicated assessment.
Generally speaking when making a game, when you want to attract players you don't make it harder on them to adjust to the game, you make it relatively easier.
In no way am I saying that players should be hand held till eternity. But you're making it seem as though putting a novice against a heavy weight champion is going to yield positive results.
In actuality, all it does is create frustration.
You mention youtube video guides, but how many NEW players since the update are checking them out and not just checking out of the game because it's not fun?
Many new players come due to watching someone play DBD on Twitch or YouTube. It's how I learned about it originally and why I chose to play this game. I'm starting to get a grasp about what you mean now. As I said before, MMR is a healthier way of doing matchmaking in the long run. Yes, the first 2-3 weeks will suck but afterwards, everything will go back to normal and the newer players coming in will get the same new killers compared to what we use to have.
It'll smooth over but it's better than getting rank 1's all the time like the old matchmaking did and had good veterans derank for easy lobbies against new players then proceed to make fun of them on video as content. You might not see the sunshine behind the clouds yet but once it's gone, it'll be much better and won't be easily abused like the previous matchmaking was.

I completely disagree, if you have to watch videos to play a game effectively, the developer has failed to teach you the basics.
Besides I'm a terrible visual learner, I do better repetitively, and not having fun is not an option.
They also have a tutorial. If you don't understand the game after and refuse to watch a video then I'm not sure what you want? Get face camped by a new killer until you get to a better killer that just destroys you? Tutorials are there to help. They teach you the basics but online tutorials teach you advanced ways to play.

Therein lies the problem. New people who have no idea how to counter loops have to put up with you. Fortunately the devs have appeared to see the light and this will be changed.
I learned from YouTube videos. They can do the same. That's how many learn the tiles.

I mean yeah, that's literally what I said to you with my earlier reply.
Voicing my frustration with a game I paid for that was good right before an update that made it worse is pretty valid, and I think many new players would have the same experience.
Fair enough. Thank you for being civil. Once everyone's MMR settles, new players won't even see a skilled player for months. Got to give it time. I learned from YouTube videos on how to loop and play killer. After awhile, I adopted my own play style. YouTube tutorials like PainReliever are your best friend. He's good with looping videos and tile management for killers.
Edit: I said Painkiller xD wrong name

Who's 'they' anyway? Last I checked if I wasn't having fun in a game I just stopped playing it. If you're in 20-30 matches against pros and you're getting your face put into the dirt by Zeus carrying an Ancient tier perk. Odds are that you're probably just going to stop playing because you're learning nothing.
I shouldn't have to watch a video to learn the game at a decent pace, I should just be able to play the game like it was before this terrible patch.
They're just lucky I played for more than 2 hours before this patch came out so i can't refund it into the abyss.
You do you. I'll still be here loopin' killers like I have for years.

it's hot garbage and putting it on the players to trudge through it for a month, especially new players is just irresponsible and lazy.
So I basically have to participate in a series of unfun games where I don't learn anything and get scrap rewards for the sake of a terrible match making system?
Just sounds like this game just hates new players.
We all have had times where the game isn't fun. Watch videos, practice in KYFs and just learn your tiles. When I started DBD when it first came to PS4, I learned how to play against nonstop face campers with no chance of rescue and BT wasn't on PS4 yet.

IKR! I got one person hooked and slugged two with mad grit, and they were both trying to blind me but I had lightborn! I can only imagine their shock and bewilderment it was too funny!
It also threw off their chase game later on because they didn't know what to do without their flashlights, and from the shock of mad grit. It was amazing
I'm glad you're having fun! I like to play as Bunny Legion sometimes with the broken status pin and all slowdown perks. It's nasty slowdown once everyone is injured and broken. Good times.

Use Agitation over Iron Grasp. You get more distance AND can get a wack on someone with mad grit because they don't expect the extra speed lol.

If you felt I insulted you then I apologize. I was genuinely asking if I had called you a name and didn’t realize it. I’m sorry.
Telling someone if you say this or that, then you're this or that, is insulting because you're insinuating that they are. If you don't understand what I'm referring to, read your reply from earlier. We have discussions to say what we think or feel about something. Not everyone will agree. If it comes out that I am wrong with my statements that I thought was true, I'll admit it when it happens. I'm a big boy. I don't let my pride overtake my own faults.
Until a Dev openly says, "Hey, this isn't working like intended or Hey, this is working like intended, I'm gonna assume that I'm right but I'll never say you're this or that if you disagree with me. That's when I stop talking to the person. I do listen to others. So far, MMR has been working for me. I'm getting Rank 1's but again, I've been playing only 1 killer since then. To me, if it's working because I'm playing a specific killer only and not switching yet I'm getting the correct ranks for me, I'm gonna say yes, it's working correctly.
Yet someone else is saying it's not because of a streamer who keeps switching killers in less than 24 hours of being released is absolute correct is a bit stupid. You're saying some guy is right. No matter that he's not playing the same killer multiple times in a row but nonetheless, he's right. THAT gets under my skin a little since I'm having different results but I followed what I was told how the MMR is based. Individual killers with multiple games played.
If I sound confrontational, I don't mean to be. I try not to use my feelings for something as justification to ignore everyone else. Lots of people are having normal matches now after playing the same killer. Then I see post after post of just throwing MMR at BHVR when they're doing their best to make matchmaking better. It makes me wonder if people understand how MMR even works.
I honestly don't know why the Dev said 10 matches. I was playing COD MW with MMR and it took a LONG ASS TIME to get me to a high MMR. I'm talking a month of playing every day yet 10 games is enough for DBD to be a good gauge of skill. It's why I said a week at least. Everyone should have burned through a few killers so their normal killers are high so it's more accurate. That's why I said a week at least, up to a month.
I hope that helps with my explanations. I was getting tired of repeating the same thing in every new post about the SAME THING.

I realize you think you understands how MMR works. And that’s cute. They’ve already been calculating MMR for months. Why are you ignoring this fact? They’ve already stated that the MMR they’ve been using internally to run “will they win or lose” is “pretty accurate.”
It didn’t work. It isn’t calculating it correctly. Not to mention MMR is self regulating. It will naturally sort players. Playing against a bunch of Brown Ranks game after game is enough to ensure that you’re 5th, 6th and 7th game shouldn’t be against Brown Ranks.
Best Guess is that they set the initial MMR for players they couldn’t pre-calculate an MMR for, too high.
You can ignore that they’ve said multiple times they’ve already pre-calculated anyone whose been playing for the past couple of months all you want. It just makes you look ignorant.
See. You resort to name calling. I'm facing rank 1's as Leatherface all day. Been playing only Leatherface since yesterday. I went from 20's to Rank 1's-3's which is my average. Seems to work for me? Probably because I've played the same killer for hours. If you want to talk and have a discussion, I'm all game. If you add insults, I stop wanting to talk to you. If you have to rely on insults because you don't like having a discussion then post an opinion and don't reply on another's opinion.
