Right now it's Demo or Doctor, but I mess around with Deathslinger and Billy from time to time. I used to main Myers but after these god awful dedicated servers came out, and the ruin nerf, I've had absolutely no desire to play him since. His stalk is so broken it's unreal. Completely unacceptable that him, GhostFace and Nurse have been this broken for over 6 months now.
-
I'd love weekly/monthly challenges that give out either large amounts of BP or iri shards. That'd be so nice and would keep the game a bit more fresh and fun. It will absolutely never ever happen because we have to pay money for that privilege (The archives) but still...one can dream right?
-
I don't see how that would change anything, you'll still get matched with the same red rank survivors that you get in your other killer games. To me it just seems a bit pointless to have a feature like this.
-
It's basically the old 3-man game bug but it doesn't register that the 4th got disconnected before the match started and it plays out normally. It's incredibly rare but it does happen.
-
It wasn't just useful, it was downright broken, but they massively overnerfed it's range. It would've been fine at 10 metres. 6 metres is pathetic.
-
I doubt it, but nobody in their right mind would give up monitor on him anyway. It's an essential perk for him.
-
You're clearly memeing, but in all seriousness I think you could make it work but you'd have to change the perk.
"Everytime a survivor is hit with a basic attack while healthy, you gain a token. Each token will apply a 5% decrease to gen speeds up to a maximum of 6/7/8 tokens. The effect is dispelled once the hex totem has been cleansed"
...Yes or no?
-
For survivor? Kindred
For killer, BBQ every time. I'd just play Billy all day it'd be basically the same as playing with 4 perks.

dude who is this god Nurse y’all talking about? There isn’t anybody in this community is good at Nurse.
Ardetha, Zubat, Marth, Scorpionz, Battleguy...Ive also found several korean and Japanese DbD streamers that play her pretty well. I don't usually have much trouble with her either but it's really not worth playing her right now because of the bugs that plague her.
-
You say this wouldn't affect him as a killer but it DEFINITELY would. Giving him a limit like this on his chainsaw would basically kill him. Feathering the chainsaw around loops is a skill that good Billy players will definitely catch you with if you're not paying attention. If you remove this from him what little chase and mindgame potential he has is now gone.
-
This is the exact change otz went over in one of his videos. I'm guessing you watched that already? I'd be all for this. While I don't think she'd need anything to compensate for this change, if Spirit mains would really whine about this so much, maybe allow her to either see the heartbeat of a nearby survivor when she blinks into view, or allow her to see blood for a brief period of time?
If she got a change like this I would actually take spirit players seriously when they talk about her mindgames because she would actually have some with a feature like this.

This game isn't competitively viable at all. And it also hasn't really changed in terms of the nature of the game. Simply put the more you play a horror game the less scared you'll be. If you've played this game for long enough it won't phase you anymore because you've seen everything a million times. People who keep asking the Devs to "make the game scarier again" fail to realise that these new elements will very quickly become either tame or downright tiresome and boring because you'll see it so much.
-
Pig and Wraith in S and A tier for difficulty? I mean I guess it's your opinion but... what? Wraith is by far the easiest killer to pick up and play and it's the one killer I'd recommend every new player to pick up first. Once you know what he does there's really nothing else to him so I don't see the learning curve being high on him (windstorm lunge is the only thing that might take you some time to perfect but that's it).
And I really don't see the high learning curve with Pig. She's incredibly simple and easy to understand, much easier than Demo and Plague...
I'd swap Slinger and Wraith around
Demo should be in A imo.
I'd put pig in B or C tier
I agree with the rest.

You lose 4 hatchets. Meaning you have to run infantry belt to compensate. Which limits your build options. And as I already mentioned, weaker Huntress players need those extra hatchets.
Uhhhhh whatever limit you're placing on yourself by bring 3 instadown hatchets instead of something else is already MASSIVELY OVERCOMPENSATED by the fact you're throwing literal nuclear bombs at survivors
-
My guess is it'll be coming in the near future, because honestly every multi-platform game like this should have cross-progression in 2020. There's just more important issues the devs need to look at first. One step at a time, ya know?
-
After the ruin nerf a lot of people are now using this as an excuse to tunnel to such a degree that it's quite ludicrous tbh. It technically is the best and easiest way as a killer to create pressure if you can remove a person from the game as quickly as possible. The harder way for killers to create pressure is to slug and a killer literally cannot win unless they do this, but it's harder to know when to slug and when not to etc...so low ranks will default to tunnelling someone out of the match as soon as possible. But if you're really getting tired of it, I hear DS+unbreakable works a treat.
-
We don't need to remove NOED from the game. It's a low-rank trap perk. You rarely see red rank or purple rank killers running NOED because guess what? It's garbage. You either get a single kill at the end of the game out of pity or you don't get any kills because the totem gets cleansed and then the survivors save the guy on hook and get out for free. What a great perk :) Almost every time I've seen NOED on a killer they get 1 down and camp the living ######### out of that person on the hook and don't ever move. This gives me and the other survivors usually enough time to find the totem and then go in for the save with BT and take hits.
-
I haven't seen a single person say Head On is OP. Is it annoying? Yes it is annoying right now. You bait out the head on and lunge only to still get stunned by it even though the survivor left the locker a year ago. But honestly I don't see how anyone could call it OP, it's probably the last fun thing survivors have left.
-
It's been said already but you can't really quantify skill in a game as random and "arcade-y" as DbD. Like, this game isn't hard at all to get good at you could become a pretty decent player in a matter of weeks. The general mechanics are very very basic, and there are situations where you just can't win no matter what you do both as killer and survivor and this is why it's a pretty redundant topic...
...buuuuuut if you want my opinion I think Zubat's currently the best player overall, followed closely by Scott, Umbra, Battleguy....etc.
-
That's a survivor build alright. Pretty solid. Personally I'd swap lithe for dead hard, and spine chill for kindred. I've come to rely on kindred way too much, and it's way too good a perk to not run now (I think it's probably the best survivor perk in the game). I don't like using spine chill anymore because I personally found the game to be far too boring with spine chill. I was looking at an icon light up more than I was looking at my surroundings and I found that to be very dull. But I know a LOT of survivors run spine chill now so go nuts.
-
People like me who play with their friends when we play survivor will almost never get a match. Now if they added an indication on the post-match screen I wouldn't mind. But there shouldn't be one in the pre-game lobby. It's already been said but you'll dodge the lobby anyway, it doesn't matter if there's an indicator or not so what's the point of asking for it? You're cutting out seconds of time at most and killer queues are already instant.
-
I'd rather the killer be rewarded with more BP or something for playing a SWF match. Survivors hold m1 to repair gens long enough, it doesn't need to be any longer. Not every match is a SWF death squad that end the game in 5 minutes. a lot of SWF groups are just there to screw around. I know that's what me and my friends do when we play in a 4-man. It's rare that more than 2 of us escape most of the time because we all mess around with head on and go for dumb sabo plays etc (Or we're all drunk, or both lmao). If you really wanted to give the killer an advantage against a pre-made, make bloodlust gain twice as fast maybe, or make the first bloodlust tier increase the killer's speed by 7.5% instead of the usual 5%.

Like it was mentioned above, there are some safe ways to avoid her mind games. I believe she doesn't need a nerf at all. Do you think she deserves one? I wish you good luck finding a way to nerf her in order to not make her op and fit the thematics of her character.
They're only safe if you guess right based off nothing, and you're only safe for like 10 seconds. I never said she did need a nerf. She's not an overpowered or broken killer by any means, I'd rather her ability be reworked somewhat. Otz made a video on what changes he'd make to every killer, and his idea for Spirit was exactly like the one I had for her.
If you haven't watched it he basically said that it should act a bit like old Freddy. periodically in her power you would be able to see her phasing for a split second, and when you phase into view of the survivor would also be indicated to you as the Spirit, and how often you phase could be changed via addons. This way you could fake out a survivor by moving one way around a loop, for example, but then you actually double back survivor because they thought you were going that way...that was very badly worded but there would be your actual mindgames. The survivor actually has some information to make a guess instead of having nothing. It would also kinda remind me of Hisako from Killer Instinct, who's my favourite videogame character of all time.
Hell even if they only made her move the grass she was phasing on that'd be fine with me. If she had literally any kind of visual indication (Or a good audio indication although this might make her too weak) I wouldn't be complaining.
-
Holy...console DbD is THIS BAD? That is unforgivably bad, I am so sorry for you and the rest of the console community because I have no idea how you've put up with this garbage for so long.
-
Dunno why you're giving these people the time of day. Report and move on without saying anything. By responding you're giving them exactly what they want, how hard is this to understand? A lot of people who play this game feel the need to respond to children like this when you shouldn't be.
Also just as a side note I've never seen anyone call Doctor a braindead killer lmao. A "brain-ache" killer maybe, that music and screaming can give you a migraine.

Talking to friends to communicate = cheating?
Someone tell those running CSGO, Siege, Overwatch, DOTA, League, Valorant, and every other game ever made
I think the point he's trying to make is that you're on an even playing field in games like CSGO etc, but in DbD it's asymmetrical, and neither side is balanced and it never will be. This is probably why everyone hates SWF. I don't personally have a problem with it, because who cares about ranking up and winning in this game in the current year, but a lot of people take this game seriously and SWF are annoying them.

Alright, let's go over the mind-games again, seeing as you seem to have no knowledge of how Spirit works.
Doubling-Back. You can uh.. Walk. I know, I know, crazy idea to suggest walking so you don't make any scratchmarks and she can't hear your footsteps or your breathing over her own phase sound. If you're injured and making grunts of pain, you can at the very least try something. This has worked quite a few times for me, and against me: Sprinting away from her for about two seconds, and then the moment you hear her close. You spint backwards. Quite a few times this has caused them to miss a hit, even while grunting.
Dropping a pallet: You don't seem to know how long her power would take to recover or how much she would use. To catch up after a hit, uses about two thirds of her power, (with a yellow duration add-on it's about half). It would take about 8.5 - 9 seconds to recover, with 4 seconds from the missed hit and breaking a pallet, (During which, you should be running away to gain a tonne of distance) she'll now have about 4 - 5seconds of being a 110% killer. So, you just wasted 13 seconds of her time with the use of a single pallet, and that's not including the time it takes to catch back up to you. If it doesn't work, you can actually commit next time and stay on the other side of the pallet, meaning she'll be on the wrong side or you can try and do it again in the hope she'll mind-game herself.
Hearing her coming, you can hear her like any other killer. Just think of it likes she's behind a wall seeing as you'll know which way she's coming from 9 times out of 10. I won't lie, from your strategy of "Making a blind guess and hoping it works" you seem to be the sort of player that hates having to think for themselves. "Why can't I just run her around the same pallet like I do everyone else? She isn't nurse!" I can just imagine you saying that in a non-joking way.. If you hear her footsteps, you can hear where she's coming from. Walk towards her, or run towards her if you're in the open. If you know which way she came from, hop the window away from her or drop the pallet between you both and maybe even slow vault it. Do something instead of trying to act like "Well, guess she's got me now lolol"
I'll say it again. If you want to get some help for playing as, or against Spirit, ask nicely and you might get some. I'm not gonna list every possible way to avoid her, there's some that are situational and some any survivor should be able to do, take too much time for me.
It's not a mind-game if the survivor has absolutely no way of knowing what's going on. I could go into a custom game with some of my friends and I'll get them to try and run me around as Spirit and I can guarantee they won't be able to do it for long. I could also try to see if they know when I'm using my power, or where I'm currently phasing to. Once again, they'll have no idea because guess what? You have no info on where she is or if she's even using her power. There's no mind-game there, it's an uneducated guess because you have no input on this interaction. Tru3 said the same things in his video (which I'm guessing you've seen), and his counters are assuming the survivors got lucky, and the killer has an IQ in the single digits and plays like an AI.

How to make DS useless 101
DS is supposed to be useless unless you're getting tunnelled. If you think this kills DS then good, you're not supposed to be using it for 60 seconds of invulnerability, you're supposed to use it to waste the killer's time tunnelling you off the hook.
-
DS only needs 2 changes: Deactivate if grabbed from a locker, and deactivate if another survivor gets hooked. That's it.
-
Mori-able on death hook is legit the only thing they need to do to the ebony and ivory moris. Only killable in basement could be a cool idea for a perk. Maybe monstrous shrine. Maybe if you down a survivor while they're in the basement you can kill them by your hand? (Downing them and then taking them to the basement doesn't count.)
-
Idk what to tell you, but for me, if I know I'm against a sfw sweat squad and I don't feel like dodging...
She comes out to play.
-
I could go on for hours about that damn gun of his, but the main thing that I wish was changed about him is his TR music. I think it just needs to be louder and more obvious. Like a more noticeable start to it. Listen to my boi Mikey's terror radius for comparison. It's noticeable the instant you're inside it, giving you a decent amount of time to react and to know how close he is. Deathslinger's is really quiet with no build-up until he's literally chasing you. It's really annoying having no idea where in his 16m radius he is, or how close he is (I say he has a 16m terror radius because you'd be an idiot to not run monitor on this guy, and I haven't come across a single yeehaw man who didn't have it)

Another rank 1 Spirit main here, and I have to agree with @Hopesfall to some extent. (Should cover your "name" up in full by the way, I found ya out of curiosity, or at least someone with your "name" and over a month's worth of time on DBD~)
I believe that Spirit does not require skill to learn, however, she is one of the harder killers to master. Someone new picking her up would have no idea how or when to use her power, would not be able to find an uninjured person during a phase, and would mind-game themselves more than the survivors.
I will say to the people here, who say things such as "Just run Stridor and she's skill-less" or "Just wait at pallet to mind-game." You all seem like the sort of people that would see her standing at a pallet and would either vault the pallet or stand still on the other side of it. In other words, you seem pretty dumb honestly.. On the subject of Stridor though, while on paper, Stridor SHOULD counter Iron Will, it doesn't. In fact it more often gives people, without Iron Will, the Iron Will effect due to audio bugs. Also, telling people to run Stridor isn't really different from telling people to run Iron Will.. Please, just stop it and try to learn how to play against a killer.
With that said, there are quite a few ways to mind-game a Spirit as a survivor, but most people either give up because "Spirit OP," or they panic and just run forwards becuase they're not used to having to think about where a killer is. A few things you can do would be to double-back or sprint up to a pallet and throw it down in front of you. Or, you know, anything. You're the ones that produce the scratchmarks, use them, make them lead away and double-back. You can see her husk, make a guess on where she's coming from like you would with any other killer, then time your dodge when her phasing gets louder and you hear her footsteps. Hell, just stand still and she'll most likely go past you. You can mind-game her yourself you know.
Ok so lets run through these "mind-games":
Doubling back - So even if you're healthy, you double back, making your scratch marks more concentrated in one area, the Spirit will see the scratchmarks stop. She will also hear your breathing, your footsteps and see grass move if there's grass or you'll make very audible footsteps on wood etc. A competent Spirit will just do a 180 and smack you.
Dropping a pallet early - So you drop the pallet early and the Spirit's coming up to you at mach 5 in her power. Congratulations, you've just wasted a valuable resource on the map because she'll either guess right and hit you, or she'll phase round to the other side of the pallet which will save maybe a total of 5 seconds because she can just break the pallet, AND she'll likely have her power back once she's broken the pallet so then you're a sitting duck in the middle of nowhere because you're likely not getting to another loop in the time it takes for her to start to phase and catch up to you (Especially next update. Maps are gonna be more spread out meaning there's now less loops you can safely chain together).
If you hear the Spirit's footsteps she's way too close and she'll hear you too, so you're just gonna get hit before you have any kind of time to react or do absolutely anything against it. Your best bet is to make a blind guess and hope it works. If it works you haven't done much because her power recharges so quickly and then it's back to making another dumb guess based off nothing.
-
If you know what survivors sound like, what footsteps are, what grass is and how grass typically sounds when you run through it...there's literally nothing else to it. It's that easy. If you have a pair of headphones your work is practically cut out for you. I will say there is a difference between a good Spirit and a bad Spirit but the only difference between them is the bad Spirit isn't paying attention to sounds or has literally no idea of survivor pathing or scratch marks (Basically, they're very new to the game).
-
That coordination tho. I've had that happen to me once as Trapper.
Chasing a survivor while 4 gens are left: "eh they're getting through gens pretty slowly, must be doing something else I'll run this guy around and get some pallets out the way"
60 seconds later and all gens are done: "...oh"
-
I play like a person would play a videogame: I play it well. I don't get what you mean with this whole roleplay thing you're doing but I guess I would say I play fair and efficiently? I don't tunnel off the hook or camp because that's a boring playstyle and it's fun to have more interaction with other survivors instead of just camping 1 person til death
-
Is this to prove that anyone can escape against the Spirit? I agree that if you just do gens you get out, but that's not the problem people have with her. You can slam gens out in 5 minutes against almost any killer if you really wanted to, but that doesn't make them any fun to play against. Spirit and Deathslinger don't have much map control, but are actually impossible to run around, you're at the mercy of the killers' skill level and there's basically nothing you can do as a survivor to have any real input on the outcome of a chase.
-
For me, as a survivor I couldn't care less what happens now. As long as I get to run a killer around for a bit, or mess around with my friends and do dumb stuff that probably gets us all killed I'm happy. I've grown numb to getting camped and tunnelled too, Idk what it is but I find it funny now. I find it slightly annoying when randoms on my team get tunnelled because my whole objective as survivor is to make sure everyone else gets out even if I die for it. Basically the mom of the team.
As killer, 4 stacks of BBQ, non-immersed survivors and constant chases and interaction would be a good match imo. The more dumb ######### we can all laugh at the better.
-
I will say this again in this thread: Remove Spirit.
-
Remove the mashing. Just do it devs, please. It's stupid.
In its place, make a prompt that lets you give up on hook if you hold it down long enough, kind of like attempting to escape off the hook in the 1st phase but it's for the 2nd phase instead.
The problem = solved. It's literally that simple.
-
Demo is SSS tier without a doubt.
Where would we be as a community without this vibey boi

You don't stand still. If you see them standing still you walk away from that loop. Same with a chase. You see them standing still? Walk.
Ok so, assuming you're healthy, you walk away from the loop...you're now exposed in the open and once she starts her phase the Spirit will be able to hear your footsteps, see the grass moving and hear you breathing once they get close enough to you, especially if they have stridor and this will likely be enough for them to "triangulate" your position and hit you. I'm sorry but I just don't see what's fun about this. If it was something that could work then sure, but this just wouldn't against a player who knows what they're doing. Again this is assuming sounds are good so this is probably a legit strategy against her right now lmao, and probably will be for a long time since sounds are seemingly getting worse.

Here is how I would change Freddy to make him more balanced and fun without actually nerfing him:
-Remove Oblivious while asleep from base kit.
-Remove stacking penalty of using Snap Clap to wake up.
-Freddy is always visible within 32m while awake. He is invisible to awake survivors beyond that range.
-Remove current effects from Cat Block, Z Block, and Pill Bottle
-New Z Block inflicts Oblivious on sleeping survivors.
-New Cat Block inflicts stacking penalty for using Snap Clap, and prevents extra clocks from becoming active (see last point).
-New Pill Bottle has Freddy appear intermittently beyond 32m when asleep, and between 16m and 32m when awake.
-Every 30 seconds after you fall asleep, another clock becomes available to use along with previous clocks.
The 2 changes I'd want to see the most are the oblivious status effect being removed, and being able to use any clock on the map but as a countermeasure to that, survivors move into the dream world slightly faster (Less delay before the timer starts counting down again).
-
He's just boring. Slowdown abilities in general are very boring and tedious to go against as survivor because the only thing you can do against it is to drop the pallet early, run to the next loop...exciting gameplay right there. A lot of people are mistaking this for survivors complaining that they can't "mindlessly loop" a killer, which is not true. Survivors are generally not complaining about Freddy being a strong killer, they're complaining that's he's boring to play against because there are strong killers in this game that aren't a chore to play against (Billy, Nurse, Plague etc). To me this is because their powers enhance their abilities rather than hinder the survivors', making it more engaging and fun...if that makes any sense. I'd also argue it's even more mindless to play against Freddy now than it was before because his counterplay now is literally 1-dimensional and deviating from this formula gets you killed. He can still be looped like every other killer, the only difference is he loops tiles a bit less, and that's it. He's also braindead easy to play and gets a lot of value by simply existing, so there is that to consider as well.
-
Basically, playing Nurse for the first time now is like jumping into the deep end of a swimming pool when you don't know how to swim in the first place. Sure you might eventually get it through sheer panic and force of will, but it won't be fun, and it could kill you...mentally...
It's all about predicting where survivors are gonna go. If you're going against the average survivor many of them will try and double back on you which is easily countered by simply letting go of the blink earlier. Against good survivors, and Nurse players, we know how far your blink is gonna go when you release it, so then it becomes a mindgame and survivors will be going for as many LoS blockers as possible. It's all about predicting where you think survivors are gonna go. You will get bullied to death at first, but you'll eventually get the hang of it. The addon that shows you where you're blinking to might be helpful to start with. I never used it because it was distracting for me, but you might like it. And hell, it's a brown addon so you could run it indefinitely if you wanted to, there's no shame in relying on a brown addon like that if it helps you, nor is there shame in running a gen build on her to begin with. It's whatever you're most comfortable with.
Ardetha's Nurse guide is pretty outdated now (The part about her add-ons especially), but it's probably the best Nurse video out, he gives a few good tips through the video which are still relevant and might be helpful. https://youtu.be/EfnmZvK4l88

I despise spirit, but maybe the Reason why some people enjoy it is because they've never played against a good spirit, so they think that their "mInDgAmE" (guessing) worked and they feel good about themselves, when in reality either the spirit is a potato or the sounds are even worse than they normally are and she literally doesn't have any kind of audio feedback to pinpoint a survivor's location.
